HISTORY
Established in 1973.
Curtis Plumbing started operations in Tucson, Arizona on June 21, 1973. Bill Curtis was the first plumbing service technician, operating by himself for several years as he built on his knowledge of the new construction plumbing trade. Cheryl Lynn Curtis served as secretary, dispatcher, and bookkeeper for the first 8 years of operation. In the years that followed, the couple's business vastly expanded its staff and equipment, gaining a reputation for honest, hardworking service techs with reasonable rates. Today, we're Tucson's premier plumbing company, always working to improve the equipment we have and the services we provide. Ken Curtis has taken over for Bill and Cheryl Curtis to provide the next generation with the same quality service that we have always offered.

My septic spit up junk all over my bathtub because I hadn't pumped it in years. Not only did they come out on the weekend to immediately give it a short-term fix, but the office manager answered all of my septic questions. I'm a city girl, so I had no idea that you need to pump it every six years, or so. Then they came back during the week, so I wouldn't have to pay the weekend rate, with two men, to pump the whole thing out, which was filled to the top. They were very nice and professional, and knew what they were doing. They didn't waste any time getting to work in our 100 degrees plus temperatures, and they even gave us a Senior Citizen discount. I was also happy that they cleaned up all their work, and left my backyard looking just like it did before they did the dig up.

Updated Review 5/4/22 Had technician MATT from Curtis Plumbing come out to replace 3 Lavatory Faucets and a cartridge in the Tub/Shower turn on handle. He was professional and thorough . Did a great job and got us all updated. I highly recommend Curtis Plumbing.
The Curtis plumbing team was ultra responsive from the top on down. They really moved things around to get my plumbing emergency taken care of same day. Matt the on sight plumber was fast and knew exactly what the issue was. Thanks to Curtis plumbing a major crises turned into a small fix.

Always reliable, consistently professional, with fair pricing and top notch service. Called for a clogged tub drain late in the day on Thursday and Lucy was actually apologetic that they couldn't make it out the same day, however, at 9am Friday morning, Billy arrived, perfectly on schedule, and was knowledgeable and courteous and got the job done quickly. Gave me some excellent advice on other plumbing issues, too. It's good to have a vendor you know you can always trust (especially when you have an older home with plumbing issues), and they have been that for me for over 10 years. Exceptional service should be recognized. Thanks for always coming through for me!

I called Curtis Plumbing to check out a possible backed up drain at a rental property. I was clear on the phone with both females I spoke with as to wanting a camera run down the pipe. I was told first the will snake it and then they will run a camera. I asked for an estimate of cost and since I would not be present how to pay my bill. I was told that I could pay by check to avoid the 3% card fee. I said that was wonderful. I booked the appointment. The tech was late, I know things happen. He did his thing snaked the pipe and what not. He then told me there was no reason for a clog and the line was open and clear to the sewer. He then said I need to have the camera run to check for a possible break in the line due to foundation collapse. After the tech got back to his office he called to get payment for the services. I explained the woman when I booked said I could write a check. He said I was a first time customer and had to pay now. I guess I could have refused, I paid, including the 3% fee. As I looked at the bill I see I was charged $10 more than quoted for the snake plus a $7 truck charge. I also said to schedule the pipe to have a camera run down. 2 days later and still waiting for a call. When I first called and explained what I wanted it was made to seem as the tech would snake the pipe and then if needed run a camera then, not a entirely different trip, appointment and fees. I would stay away from this company or any that cannot give you accurate pricing and know when and how procedures are completed. I also had the pricing for the camera when I first called and then when the tech gave me the estimates the price suddenly increased. Shady and not worth the
Update/response to Ken
I was asked to pay my bill before ever receiving an invoice to review. I paid my bill in full at the time of service. I simply wanted to understand the difference in charges, which I understand. But, to be told by YOU that I was given concession on my bill for overtime is ridiculous! I was scheduled a window of 12-3, the tech showed up at 3:40 and did less than an hour of work! To say I should have been charged overtime is ridiculous. Also, you have no idea what previous maintenance was done to my property, and to call out others is very unprofessional. Also, I made it clear I could not attend the appointment because I live on the other side of the country. So please continue to try and make me seem like the one in the wrong. You never did address how long I was to wait for a camera to be scheduled? I waited 4 days with no word from your company. And, I was extremely clear in my initial call that I wanted a camera run.

I have used this company for years, they are excellent. They replaced my mothers entire septic several years ago...including the leech field. They have fixed frozen pipes, drains, Put in clean outs fixed my faucets, repaired toilets etc. basically they have done everything from small projects to large and complex ones. They are on time, reasonably priced and their technicians are kind, helpful, hard working and professional....and they know what they are doing. I cannot say enough about them. They do great work and stand by their work. I highly recommend for any plumbing need. Real plumbers...not just people who are handy at repairs.

I've used Curtis Plumbing for my rental properties as well as for my own plumbing needs for 20 plus years. I can't say enough good things about the people who work for them and their fine service. They always set their clients' needs first. They arrive one time, do the job professionally and clean up before they leave.

I needed to have a 5 ft re-pipe (outside of wall) and a water softener (which I furnished) installed. They up-charged the pipe and couplings 3 1/2 to 4 times what they cost at Home Depot. For example, a hose bib at Home depot costs $8.37 and they charged me $28.43 for the EXACT same one. And they charged me for 6 3/4 hours that included nearly an hour for his lunch and 1/2 hour to figure the bill. The total bill came to $1600.00. I got screwed horribly and will never, ever call Curtis Plumbing again. I will tell everyone I know.
This company is a joke - I called them to come out and give me an estimate on replacing a portion of the main water line since the previous owner had used them - they advised there would be a charge for the estimate of $75 but that would go towards the work - they came out and did the estimate but I was not home when they came out - I never got the estimate -I called into the office and they advised it was going to be $2k - I asked for them to email it over to me - never got it and called 2 additional times - nothing - I used another plumbing company which charged me $1200 - then after 1 month Curtis Plumbing sent me a late notice advising that I owed them $149 for the estimate -are you kidding me?? I called the office and spoke to Cindy and she said she would look into the issues and she would call me back the next day - its been a week and still no call back

I concur with other folks offering up 1 star and as such so it is
As very good service was previously the norm at Curtis Plumbing
Your $s were well spent
I have personally directed 1000s there
Complacency has taken hold, well likely it was always there ...just hidden
For us it was missed appointment / no calls ...
Everything premium dollars should shield you from

Update
Sadly the Curtis response was not dissimilar in fashion, to what others are reporting
Curtis was not at all interested in their lack of service
Unable to hear any criticism and absolute in their unwillingness to learn
Though very interested in berating me
Wow! Simply no comprehension of customer service
Cheryl Curtis just rambled on about numerous topics
ie;
Number of incoming phone lines, business structure...
Really Cheryl?
To your customer these details are of no relevance
Seemingly it was anything she could come up with to obfuscate my issues
It went so far as;
Cheryl weaving a tale that I was contacted, by her no less
I was never contacted, remember this is what started my epic adventure
I am told internally Curtis did contact themselves, well that's swell
Cheryl bested her own incompetence by:
Telling me I was lying about the conversation between her employee and myself.
Oddly this is was a conversation Cheryl was not privy to
Though she did remain absolute in her knowledge of its contents
note Cheryl never asked this employee what transpired
The conversation was regarding the following days schedule and what would transpire.
Oy Vey, in all Curtis has gone done the drain
The Internets yielded some great corollaries to my own experience:
tucson.citysearch.com/pr…
There are many more...
It is a great feeling to be vindicated and to know I was not dreaming

I called Curtis plumbing twice now, and was very satisfied both times.
The first was to help locate a clean out so I could excavate; paying a plumber 80 bucks an hour to dig doesn't sound like a good time to me. So, he marked it for me, abs I dug it up. I snaked it with my little electric snake; nada. Called out again, knocked it out in half an hour. The truly impressive thing for me was that both times, the tech (Matt) was more than willing to explain to me how to do things myself in order to save money. He didn't force anything down my throat, but let me discuss and find an affordable solution, including recommending good plumbing supply stores and products. Kudos.
I called them on Wednesday for a ruptured water pipe outside the house, they said they couldn't come out until Friday. I called another plumbing service that dispatched a technician within the hour.

Curtis Plumbing provided us excellent service recently when we experienced an issue with our septic system. The initial (unnamed) company misdiagnosed our issue and said it would be $3800 to repair. Curtis correctly identified the issue and was able to fix it for about $1100.
Braden is a consummate professional and is a pleasure to deal with even in the most trying of circumstances!!
If you can't get a free estimate, it tells you a lot about a company. Going to leave it at that!!
Curtis Plumbing responded very quickly to our semi-emergency. The work was completed in a professional and efficient manner. The office kept us informed as to the arrival time of the plumber and he answered all of our questions and explained the work performed. We would definitely use this company in the future.

These guys are super reliable. I had to hire them over a weekend when my Plumbing went bad. Not only did they give me different options but they repaired several items at my house. The water heater only needed a thermostat and a water pipe was replaced. The service was not expensive and it fixed all of my issues. Thank you very much.

VERY EXPENSIVE; VERY GOOD; you get what you pay for
Had water leak in ABS piping connection in bathroom. Fixed it very nicely. I was a somewhat upset that their quote over phone was round $400 but final charge was $816.08; I had emailed them extensive description and multiple photos so they could provide more accurate estimate since they do not do free estimates though I realize they found some other issues they had to fix that were not apparent in my description and photos. I was also upset that the impression they gave me was only one plumber would do the job but he showed up with a trainee and charged me for trainee time also. I will use them again only for involved or complex jobs. They are too expensive for simple plumbing jobs such as toilet install or faucet install.

I've been using Curtis Plumbing for many years.
Their staff and techs have always been very professional, and our plumbing related problems have always been resolved in a super-timely fashion.
Their rates are exactly what I would except from a company providing excellent plumbing services. Knowledge skills and abilities are A+. Honesty and integrity are A+.

Had to call for emergency service today, Memorial Day, and Matt was the technician that came out. He was here inside of an hour and was able to remove a broken valve cartridge and the water turned back on inside of 30 minutes. I can express how much I appreciated Matt friendly and professional demeanor. He made what could have been a very unpleasant experience an enjoyable one.. and on a holiday where he was taken away from his family.
Thank you Matt and Curtis Plumbing! You have just made a lifelong customer.
Septic tank backup, on the weekend, of course. Curtis Plumbing was the only company I contacted ( I called three others) that actually provided emergency service as advertised. The gentleman that came out, Joe, was professional, courteous, and got the job done right. To be in business as long as they have, they are obviously doing something right.
