Urban Handyman

We will definitely use Dehn again. He came and helped me cross a couple projects off my list quickly and reasonably. He hung a ceiling fan for us and installed house numbers on our brick home. He was friendly and did great work!

Dehn is the BEST!  He is knowledgeable, quick, reasonably-priced, and SO GOOD! He has repaired bathroom fans, hung TVs on walls, patched, repaired, installed.....  I recommend him so highly!!!

Absolutely recommend Dehn. He's done a number of projects for us over the years. He's very thoughtful and thorough and we've been very happy with all the final products. He's communicative, prompt, and gives us all the information upfront to help make the decision (materials needed, pricing, etc). I had emailed Dehn about installing some window treatments and he was at my house in less than a week. He was polite and professional and finished the job in less time than originally quoted, so he charged me accordingly. I recently had Dehn with Urban Handyman complete some minor plumbing work and general carpentry around my new house. Watching Dehn's careful workmanship and general desire for a clean workspace was assuring for a homeowner.  He was very neat, cleaning after each stage of the job, ensuring that your home would be left in great condition after the job was done.
Dehn installed a bathroom vanity and light fixture for me, patched some drywall, and installed all new locks for my house.  
The Urban Handyman should be your first and last call for home repairs and upgrades. He is very honest and thoughtful with his work. I would recommend the Urban Handyman ten times over.

We're huge fans. Dehn does high quality work, communicates well before and during the jobs, and doesn't leave until the job is done and things are cleaned up. He's done a number of things for us - from small woodwork projects to a giant glass door installation - and anytime we have a project he's the one we call first. Highly recommend!

When I contacted Dehn, I sent him photos of the three things I needed addressed so he could give me an honest assessment as to whether he could repair them and, to get a quote.

After seeing the projects in person, Dehn confirmed that would fix the issues. He did a good job replacing a wood strip separating the carpet from the wood kitchen floor. And, he repaired a small 6 board on the deck which just need to be bolstered but not replaced.

The third problem was the door to the outside deck. It had a space under the door and by the door's hinge down by the bottom where air was coming in.  Despite weather-stripping, I still had to insert a towel under there to keep cold air and dust from coming into the house.

Dehn put a sweep at the bottom of the door and installed new weather stripping (which I paid for) on both sides of the frame. That stopped the air from coming in at the bottom of the door. But when he showed me what he had done and then shut the door as if the project was complete, I opened it back up because I noticed that there was approx. a 5 slit of light coming through at the top of the door.  And, that there was a 2 gap at the very top where there was no weather-stripping.  (Something Dehn did not even bother to acknowledge until I asked him about it. I could only assume that he cut the weather-stripping too short.)  I pushed on the door and the light disappeared. In other words, because of Dehn's efforts, the door no longer closed properly. Dehn assured me that what I am seeing is just a minor slit; that no air would leak into the house.  

Well, the first windy day, just a few days later, wind whistled through that minor slit like a high-pitched girl in distress. I held up a sheet of paper by the area and it fluttered.  When I contacted Dehn about it, he said that I could either buy a storm door and he would install it for $160 or, for an additional $145, that he would retrofit the weather-stripping.  I would have like to think that he would have retrofit the weather-stripping when he was here so that the job would have been done properly... the first time.

There are 68 condos in my HOA; 2 condos to a building. Most everyone used the same contractor for years until he moved out of state.  He made a great living just servicing these 68 condos. He was thorough and honest. When he left, he said that in good conscience, there was no one he knew that he could recommend. Since then, several of us in the HOA have used contractors through Angie's List and Home Advisor, with poor results. And now, from this latest experience of mine, the same result via Yelp.

-  I stuck a 2 piece of weather-stripping on the door where there was none and caulked around it. I then shaved a small slice off the weather-stripping on the lower hinge side of the door. The door shuts tight and there are no more leaks. It took me 5 minutes.

Dehn just completed quite a few projects in my condo and I would highly recommend his services. He was extremely prompt and professional. He was very flexible. He was exceptionally clean. Best of all, the work he did exceeded my expectations. He did a wide variety of projects and all of them were completed with expertise. His pricing was extremely fair and reasonable. Overall, I am very satisfied with his work and services. I am very happy that I used Urban Handyman and certainly plan on calling Dehn any time I have a handyman project in the future.

Patrick installed a vent hood over our stove. As we didn't have a vent this included installing all the venting. After getting information on the project and a few photos of the installation site he sent a very reasonable quote. On the day he came to do the installation we realized that I had missed the fact that we have solar panels over the part of the roof where he would need to install the vent. Patrick very quickly adapted to routing the vent out through the wall, including getting the new supplies this would require. He was very pleasant to work with and we'll definitely reach out to him for any projects we need help with in the future

After looking at all the other positive Yelp reviews I called Dehn to replace the door to the garage and rehang our original 1916 door. I was so happy with the outcome and both doors look and function much better now. I have a ton of other projects for him to come out and do now and can trust that the quality will be superb. Very happy and highly recommend!

Dehn is a true professional!  I knew he was going to be good based on all the outstanding reviews on Yelp but he exceeded my expectations!  He is a professional, prompt, trustworthy, and his craftsmanship is outstanding.  No task is too big or too small.  His estimate/ invoicing system and being able to pay him via Paypal is just top notch.  Can't wait to use him again on other home improvement items.

Dehn and his crew were great!  He promptly returned my call and was able to schedule me within a few weeks.  The attention to detail in the repair of my wall and ceiling were exactly what I hoped for - and a relief after a few bad handyman experiences in recent years.  He worked in my home for 3 days, and cleaned meticulously each day which minimized the sense of chaos that comes with all household projects.  He also had a knowledge and concern for safety and regulations (I live in an old building with high risk for lead exposure) that is unusual and highly appreciated in my situation.

Not taking new clients and does not provide a phone number yet still has full advertising up and running.  I was totally convinced this would be a great handyman and very disappointed.  One cannot blame a guy for not letting his business grow too big or become something he can't manage. But I think he should take down his advertising or point potential clients to another potential handyman. Feel he wasted my time.

Dehn, a.k.a Urban Handyman is the ninja of handymen... from beginning to end, he is clear and concise. Starting with a detailed quote, up to the minute response time with any questions before the job, and an easy on-line approval once the job is decided upon. I have been using contractors, and a variety of independent builders over the past 10 years for my 'ol 1947 house, (much of the work done while i was not on site) and BY FAR, Dehn has been the most professional.
Once the job has started Dehn shows up on time, meticulously finishes his work and strives to deliver the best quality in workmanship. Even down to the clean up and disposal of old materials, Dehn takes care of it all with ease, professionalism and efficiency-- and as many have stated, his prices are very reasonable!
Dehn replaced 4 windows, installed a new fiberglass door on the side of my garage, tore out an old single garage door and installed a sliding glass door, built an exterior awning over a basement door,  installed a new toilet, tore out my old bathtub, and re-built a new base for the new tub surround, replaced my bathroom faucet, installed a small glass shelf, and replaced some light fixtures-- all workmanship was top notch; from the  tight fitting windows to the perfectly aligned door-- I will be using Dehn for a large portion of the future work to be done on my house. Trustworthy, skilled craftsmanship, efficient, professional and reasonable. What more can you ask for!!!

Dehn was great!  He installed a water pressure regulator along with a gauge so I could see the level.  His price was great, he was quick, and did a fantastic job.  He even took the time to teach me how to adjust it if needed.  He also fixed my outdoor spigot, which I thought needed to be replaced.  He also showed me how to re-engage that so that I could fix myself as opposed to paying to replace the whole part.  Definitely my go to for any plumbing needs now!  Thanks, Dehn!

Our previous handyman, whom we loved, retired and left us looking for someone else to help with projects around the house. We've had quotes from multiple people on our house, but there was always something wrong with them. Either we got a strange vibe from them, they were flaky about getting back to us, or the quote was astronomically high. Not with Dehn, however. He is prompt and actually seems to want the business. His prices are very fair, and he does good work. He also is a nice guy that fits in well if he's around the house all day.

I would definitely recommend him to a friend, and we will likely be using him for all of our projects going forward.

Dehn did a wonderful job installing a new sink/vanity/faucet in my 1939 bathroom. Looks awesome! We realized my drain/p trap dipped too low to use the new vanity drawer but Dehn was creative and cut a notch into the drawer. Problem solved! He also saved me from an unrelated water leak issue while he was here. Great service, prompt, cleaned up, friendly. Would definitely recommend Urban Handyman.

Dehn is awesome!! I've found it difficult to find a reliable individual to help with electrical work and other around the house repairs. Dehn is amazing! I had some issues I needed fixed for the sale of my condo and Dehn arrived when promised with all the items he needed and was done in an hour. The work was top notch and I wish he served where I'm moving to because I would definitely use his services again!

Dehn is simply excellent. He showed up on time (a couple minutes early actually) and did exactly what I needed. This followed a couple email and text exchanges setting out what the job was. Dehn is fantastic!  I do all my searches on yelp and clearly he is highly recommended consistently across the board. It comes as no surprise that I would say the exact same thing after my experience with an entry and storm door install. He is reasonably priced, friendly, cleans as he goes, professional and does excellent work. What more can a person ask for?  He also came back to troubleshoot a door handle that was not his doing to try to help me out.   When it was determined that the door handle was old and needed to be replaced he offered to install the new one. His work is well worth the wait for a highly demanded skill.

Dehn was great to work with and very reasonable, many other estimates were nearly double what Dehn proposed.  I had him remove an old vanity, adjust the depth of the new cabinet, place the marble top and install the new faucet.  It looks like a new bathroom.  Thanks Dehn!

Dehn (pronounced Dane) is nothing less than AMAZING.  After dealing with several flaky, unprofessional independent contractors, I was feeling nervous that it was just going to remain our unfortunate lot.  Then comes Dehn... TaDa! From start to finish, he was prompt, 100% professional, cool as a cucumber and was a complete joy to work with.  We had 2 separate closet doors replaced and new french doors installed with a transom window above. They are absolutely stunning! His work has absolutely exceeded our expectations.  See my before and after photos.  I sure hope he sticks around as we have other work we would like him to complete for us.  He is an asset in every way. I have searched high and low for a handyman in Denver. Dehn is the best of the best. He was puntual, friendly, fast, efficient, and reasonably priced. He also had to deal with 3 year old twins running around the house and he handled it like a champ! I've already scheduled a second appointment because the to do list is that long! Great service! Dehn has completed so many projects for us - he has replaced our entire kitchen sink and garbage disposal, installed a ceiling vent in our bathroom, hung a barn door, reframed and replaced interior doors, framed out a basement and most recently replaced our basement steps that were failing down. Used Dehn again in July 2019 to fix a running toilet.  I was leaving town in a week and he too was leaving (soon after my last day in Denver).  I was thrilled that he could still fit me into his schedule.  It had been 3 years since I'd last used him and he was just as quick, professional and reliable.  In fact, I am getting ready to call him again for another project.

It was a pleasure to work with Dehn. He responds quickly to inquiries, reconfirms his appointment with you, his pricing is fair, and he communicates well throughout the whole process. He is very competent and professional and we will most definitely be calling him again for future needs.

Having called Dehn for a Panasonic Whispergreen continuous ventilation bathroom fan installation, he responded that his calendar was overfull at the moment but provided referral to Jeremiah Forster.  Bought fan unit from amazon; there was a lot of gray area with the product installation including removing existing 3 ductwork, replacing with 6 duct, opening/enlarging drywall and holes in brick exterior wall.  Jeremiah was consultative, professional and went far beyond what I could even consider doing myself.  Most pleased. Can understand why both are so busy yet would certainly call again for variety of projects.

If you are looking for help around the house Dehn is your man!  I found Dehn on yelp and hired him to hang a very heavy mantel above our fireplace.  He did a wonderful job!  He arrived on time and was in and out quickly all while providing detailed work at a fair price.  I will certainly keep him in mind if I have other projects to be done.  Thanks Dehn!
