I thought I choose wisely when I chose Tipping Hat Plumbing. The man who gave me our estimate was awesome. The company, however, is unbelievably unprofessional! First appointment, they called 15 mins after they were supposed to be here to cancel. Rescheduled and they cancelled on me again! Apparently when they assign a person to a job, they are the ONLY one who can do it. If they don't come to work that day all their appointments are just screwed! I asked for my money back as they had me pay well before any scheduled appointments. Unbelievable!!

The technician was punctual and friendly. He quickly solved our issue and do not overcharge or add unexpected fees. We will absolutely use this company again and refer them to our friends and family!

Our experience was really spectatcular. Muris, our Service Pro, showed up 10 minutes early and spent an hour with us diagnosing a strange issue. He was also patient and took the time to educate us on other good maintenance habits and things to be aware of long term. Could not say enough good things about him and the service provided.

The gentlemen who came to my house, took a look at my water heater with a pilot light that wouldn't light. Told me my thermostat was bad, bunch of junk about build-up in the bottom of my water heater caused it not to sense water there (bunch of B.S!). Also told me that the parts for my unit couldn't be ordered or bought because it was out of warranty (more B.S.)

He told me he'd send me an estimate but that really my only option was to buy a new unit for $3k (more B.S).

I told him no way, did some research, found out it was likely the thermacouple. Went to Home Depot, bought for $18 and replaced in an hour.  WHAT A JOKE!!!

In agreement with other reviewers, this company has a hard time meeting its appointments and will leave you hanging with no follow up.   When it isn't an urgent issue I have no problem being flexible and rescheduling - if they call.   But when there is no communication and you're left waiting all day for someone to arrive then that's not 'Good old fashioned service', its poor business practice and lousy customer service.

Stay Vigilant when dealing with these folks. The owner tried to scam me out of 35k in unnecessary repairs. We didn't fall for his tricks, but neither should you.

I had an appointment set and days before they called to say they had overbooked. I changed the time and day to accommodate. When the time and day came for my appointment, no call-no show. I called their office and was never offered an explanation, just offered again to reschedule many days later. When the tech finally did show up, they would not tune up or clean my furnace, just said it needed to be replaced. Really, without even running it, looking at the heat exchanger, testing for CO, just a visual inspection. What a joke... NEVER use these people!!!!!

Definitely not impressed... We opted to not do business with them. Told the tech we were looking for quotes and having a few places provide them for our HVAC replacement option. The tech provided a quote that started at $20K and varied all over the place but didn't provide the pricing for what we actually requested. They definitely tout themselves as having top notch staff and processes but all they did was talk over us, ignore what we asked for and gave us financing options and payment plan details that we never asked for and even indicated we would be a cash buyer -- but they really wanted to sell us a package/payment deal!

I'm really happy with Tipping Hat. They helped me when I had furnace, air conditioning and thermostat issues. All of these issues is tough on a single woman, but they made the fixes happen. Their team is professional, knowledgeable and really great to work with.

Thank you Austin H. and John N. for fixing the last remaining issue and going the extra mile to show me how to use the mobile app to program my heating and air system from my phone. You guys rock!

Called and no answer. Set up an appointment for the next week on their site. No call or email. Called them day of appointment and told all plumbers were already out and would need to reschedule.

Unfortunately paid about 9000 for a full panel upgrade.

They had to come out 3 different times to repair a short orvelectrical failure as a result of the new panel and still have not been able to satisfy what is needed for electrical code inspections after 2 weeks of no returned phone calls or constant transfers to voice mail for a simple bonding screw that literally takes 5 minutes of YouTube
All because apparently the item is on back order
Guess what? I ordered myself online and it will be here by next week
We really tried to be patient but now we're having to try and get a refund
So sad as they were so recommended and now we are holding the bag.
I would run from them if you can

We had what should have been a fairly simple project of shower installation for the company but it took far too many trips. One plumber said he couldn't finish the installation until the tile installer put in the grout, another trip couldn't be done because they didn't have the right tool (again, this is a routine installation), and the shower leaked leading to them coming to fix it but messing up the scheduling and missing the appointment. They finally fixed it but their office staff and plumbing crew seemed to be learning as they went. We will call a more experienced business next time.

I had a main drain backup.  Flush the toilet and water comes out the pea drain the the basement. This happens every six years in early spring, like clock work. I called Tipping Hat at 9am and the very courteous woman that answered set me up for a window from 11 to 1. Ten minutes after 11, TH was on scene. An extremely pleasant tech named Brandon knocked on the door and introduced himself. I walked him to the basement and he got to work. This man was as polite and professional as I've dealt with in some time. He wore show protectors and did a great job respecting my house. He ran a camera down my drain but since it was full of water, the view wasn't very good. His supervisor, Julio, came in to help. They power snaked my drain and the clog cleared. Then they reran then camera and visibility was perfect. My drain was in perfect working order minus a place where roots clearly come through. When it was all said and done, my drain was cleared and functioning, the entire run of pipe cammed and inspected. They cleaned the entire work area and capped my drain. They removed all their tools and I paid the bill. The entire bill for all that labor and and cam work. 125 bucks.

The work done was worth every penny but I can't say enough about Brandon and Julio. They were professional and hard working while being funny, chatty and downright friendly at the same time. It was a joy having them in the house.  Julio made some recommendations on work that would fix the root problem but at no time tried to upsell us into expensive fixes I didn't currently need.  Neither brought any pressure to the situation nor treated me like I was stupid. I hope I don't need this companies services anytime in the near future but if I do, Tipping Hat is who I'd call.

When you pay a large amount for a furnace from tipping hat.  They come immediately.  Last two years for annual maintenance.  They rescheduled maintenance two times.  This year technician came out said he would order a uv light and would contact me in a week.  Didn't hear from him.  Contacted main office set up a appointment.  They canceled on a Friday.  Rescheduled for Tuesday.  Cancelled said they can see me a month later.  By tipping hat.  Tipping hat did not keep there word of there contractual promise.  That's why we are forced to take our business elsewhere

I will admit that their intro price to come out and inspect my A/C and Heater was great, but
it went downhill from there.  Had to book out over a month, while Chad was here he found
a leak in a gas valve, quoted me a pretty steep price to fix it, considering the part according
to him was only $10-$15 dollars and only 1-2 hours to install.  I called back spoke to Amanda
on 9/27 & 9/29 and left a message for Chad to call me.  It's October 30th and I'm still
waiting for that call back.  This isn't how I prefer to do business however if this is how you
would like to be treated then this is definitely your company!!

Couldn't say enough positives in this short space in support of Tipping Hat for home electrical upgrades. Jessica was a good listener, helpful and welcoming. Judd was on-time, personal and professional with his survey of our needs. An itemized estimate was provided onsite before he left. Thanks, guys!

While their service is very friendly and responsive, I did not end up using them. They charge $50 just to come out and provide an estimate.
I had a simple project (replacing a standard round two-piece toilet) and pressed them for an estimate over the phone. No need to pay $50 for such a standard estimate. They quoted me $1,000 for the toilet install!!!
Lowes charges $189.

Nice to see a company back up its work - even when it turns out it wasn't their fault. I had Tipping Hat install a new humidifier in our new house this past April. A few days ago, we came downstairs to find leaking water all over, and on the floor underneath, our HVAC unit. Because this problem involved water, my first suspect was the humidifier unit, so I called for warranty service. The guys from Tipping Hat came out and inspected the problem, and determined that it wasn't related to the humidifier at all ... it was a flaw from the builder's initial handiwork. Instead of packing up and leaving, they patiently pointed out and explained the problem to me, along with written technical bullet points and photographs, which will make life much easier for me when I file my warranty claim. And they did this all with good humor, and for zero charge. A true pleasure to deal with.

I must say, this is the best service that I have ever had from an electrician!  I got an outside light installed and they threw in a side pathway light no charge.  They gave a free estimate for each project that I wanted and there was no pressure when I said that I wanted to do one small part of each job at a time.  Justin took time to explain everything...a few times since I was a little slow understanding some parts...and was patient until I understood completely.  Jessica checked in twice to make sure that everything was ok, and Ben (Benito) got the job done and cleaned up before he left.  It went off without a hitch and I will hire them for the other projects that they bid with me.

I woke up to a cold house this morning with a baby in my arm on 4 hours of sleep. I called them at 8:05. They said they could get someone here between 11 and 1. I said anytime before 2,I would be here. I had a good 20 min warning call with a picture emailed to me of the service man.
Luckily it was just a sensor. He did confirm, which I already knew, that my furnace is ancient and needs to be replaced. ( I am playing a form of Russian Roulette). He didn't over emphasize it and wasn't pushy at all! He gently told me about their furnace and finance options.
It's on my list to take care of a little later this year and now I know who I am using!

Used there service in my old house and they were great.....tech was awesome and work was done quickly and efficiently

I called them to schedule electrical work for my new house.  Had to schedule an appointment quite a ways out time wise.   The day before i called to confirm and was told everything ead good to go.

On the day of the appointment they didnt show up at the agreed time so i gave them a phone call.  I explained who i was, that i had an appointment, and that no showed up and wanted to know an ETA.

The receptionist asked my address, which i gave.  He then said i cancelled your appointment for you...i was like what?!  Told him I took time off work for this appointment.  He made a comment that guess i didn't understand you. Turns out a few hours after i confirmed my appointment, they canceled it and left me a message to inform me of this. They did not leave message....as i have a very reliable cell.

Fine.....ill just find a new electrician.

BEWARE-My advice to anyone considering Tipping Hat HVAC; do your research and find a different company for your HVAC needs. I have found several other companies that deliver what they say and are honest. My experience with Tipping Hat was good at first, they were supposed to do an AC tune-up which turned into a rejuvenation (classic up sale). The two guys I spoke with on the initial trip told me both my AC units would be covered under the price for the rejuvenation. I confirmed this twice and one even indicated it was a 2 for 1 deal. This changed the following week when the tech showed up to perform the tasks of the rejuvenation. Classic bait and switch, they changed their story and price once on site. Once they had performed their assessment of my HVAC system, they presented me with many very expensive options of repair and replacement. I priced out the parts needed to perform the recommend repairs at retail prices and found that Tipping Hat was quoting 10 times the retail cost of the parts to replace them. What was quoted to me was a 4-hr job, after deducting the retail price of parts, the labor rate being charged is $900/hour.
As part of the appointment the technician was to verify that the AC units had the proper level of freon in them. This prompted every excuse possible why they could not do this, from The coils are too rusty to I would get a false reading because of X, Y, and Z.  None the less, I am out over $500 dollars and still do not know if my AC units have a proper level of freon.
During the appointment the HVAC tech had opened my main electrical breaker panel and taken pictures of it, not sure why they needed to do this the breakers are not labeled, and each AC unit and furnace have separate cutoff switches/breakers next to them. I found two days after the appt the panel was still open; the tech did not close it upon completion.
Do not make the same mistake I did, shop around and find a better and honest HVAC company.

Not a great experience

Started off with bad experience, Robert sent me a confirmation for the time agreed on, but put a different time (that we had discussed but not agreed on) in THEIR calendar. So they were a no-show on the agreed date despite me having an email confirmation. Called to discuss this but the apology was weak. I was told the confirmations are done manually rather than automated, so do not necessarily reflect what is actually on their calendar. When they came out for the quote, the plumber was professional, but did not itemize things as I specifically requested. It was all just one big line item. Lastly, their price for my project was $3100 where other plumbers were in the $900-1600 range.

I asked for a quote to replace a non-working shutoff valve. A plumber named Liberty came out and quoted me $1200. I asked why it was so high, and he said that it was mostly for labor and that it was a very complicated repair, but he couldn't tell me how long it would take. He also assumed it was galvanized pipe without checking, and I later found out it was copper. I got a second quote from Applewood which came in at $650, and have since been told even that is too high. I did use Applewood and the repair took about an hour. So, at $1200, assuming $100 in parts, Tipping Hat would have been banking $1100. Not impressed. I was also quoted over $600 to replace a cracked tub drain and overflow plate. What are they paying these guys per hour?  The only reason I gave a second star is that they did not charge me the $29 service call fee to give me their crazy high estimates.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! We're currently in legal proceedings with them when they came out to do a routine maintenance on our boiler (that they suggested while giving us a quote for an AC replacement) and then broke our fully functioning boiler and then requested additional funds to fix it (which we paid and they DIDN'T fix it!). The person that performed the service is also no longer with the company but they refuse to give us our money back and their only additional resolution was to purchase an entirely new boiler from them for over $20K!!! SCAM ARTISTS! There are plenty of other reviews here and elsewhere that confirm what I'm saying and I only wish I had done more research before even agreeing to a routine maintenance with them. We luckily had 2 other trustworthy and reputable companies come out and they fixed the problem. We're out the money that Tipping Hat scammed us for and the money we had to pay the other company to actually fix the boiler that Tipping Hat broke and our legal fees. Don't make the mistake that we did!!!

Let me just start off with this, my house was a mess as far as electrical problems.

I found out about Tipping Hat through Home Advisor, decided to use them based off the awesome reviews these guys had (and for good reason). I hired them initially to install a new outlet for the tv in my living room, moving an outlet out of the sunroom and 3 ceiling fan installs. Chad was the first electrician I had come to my house. This guy is one of the nicest and most professional people I've let into my home. Whenever he ran a little late or just needed to keep me in the loop, he always did! Chad and Nick installed my outlets and even replaced the outside one with a GFCI. They were very knowledgeable and explained everything to me perfectly. As they were going about their business, Chad noticed my breaker box was a model that is known for causing house fires, not to mention it was illegal because it was in enclosed space (sunroom). So he told me about it and recommended his Master Electrician Justin come in to take a look and verify that info. Fast forward a couple days Chad returns to install my ceiling fans (did an awesome job considering the wiring in my house is as if the house was built in the 1920's) and Justin comes a couple of hours later. Another extremely professional and knowledgeable electrician. Long story short, these guys saved my home from being burned down to the ground. Justin couldn't do the work that week but he had another electrician come in and replace everything. Steve was great as well. He didn't want to give up on yet another annoying outlet in my house and stayed until he fixed it. This company is amazing! I'm beyond satisfied with the work done and how they kept me laughing throughout the whole process! This was extremely stressful for me but these guys kept me at ease. I can't recommend them enough. I already gave my co worker one of their cards. Thank you Chad, Nick, Justin & Steve! Expect more calls from me!

PS: They gave me a great deal!

Our hot water heater broke and it really sucked.  Kieth from Tipping Hat came out and explained the situation and gave us a few options.  I really wanted the problem to be fixed as quickly as possible!  Luckily, because his communication was attentive and he got all our questions answered quickly, we were able to make a decision and get the installation of the new water heater scheduled for the next day.  They were careful to cover the stairs with plastic and keep everything clean.  They were efficient installing the new 75 gallon tank in just a couple of hours and when they finished Kieth showed me the basic features on the new water heater.  We had hot water about 2 hours after they left, then I went on a hot water binge doing laundry and dishes.  I am happy to say that we won't have to worry about this happening again for 10 years because we got the service plan, which was very reasonable.  Keith was very easy to work with and helpful and it will be nice to have someone who knows our house doing the maintenance going forward.

Really really like the people at tipping hat!!  They were on time and extremely professional . They were fair and honest and we loved the way they took care of us and did our ac and furnace all in one day. It was so nice working with Wayne.  He returned my calls immediately!  I mean who does that these days . They do.  Exceptional at what they do.  Their follow up was so caring and I appreciated that they took time to answer my questions no matter what it was.  Please call them if you want the best service for your plumbing and heating needs.  They are absolutely worth it.

I had an appointment for an adviser to provide an estimate to replace my a/c and furnace. The time was set for between 1:00 and 3:00 pm on Saturday. At 2:50 pm I received a call to inform that the adviser was on his way to my home. We waited until 3:25 and no one showed and no one called.. I tried calling for update and that proved worthless as their business line is voice mail on Saturday. This business appears to not give a damn about people's time. IF you care about your time and how businesses disrespect it I would look elsewhere.

The good part first: The plumber who came out couldn't have been friendlier or more knowledgable. I genuinely enjoyed interacting with him. That's the reason this is a two star review instead of one star.

The bad part: They are simply not competitive with their pricing (I would so far as to call it price gouging) and they upsell extremely hard. This was one of three plumbers I got quotes from (and I did NOT hire Tipping Hat). Tipping Hat quoted $4000 for a job that the other two companies estimated would be $600-$1000. $1290 for a job I got done for $750 and another plumber quoted me $395. $950 for a bare minimum toilet installation while I got other quotes for around $295-$350.

Compared to other plumbers in the area who are equally knowledgable, skilled and licensed, it's simply insane.

Set up an appointment one week out. Gave this  company a full description of my needs as well as the attributes of my unit and building. Took off work to wait during the window of time they provided. I called to check on the status of the tech as I had not heard from them and was at that time notified that they don't work on this type of building. Colossal waste of time, energy and money. Would not recommend this business at all.

These guys are top notch, their slogan is old fashioned customer service and it really shows. We reached out to them for some help with our heating (old furnace) and evap cooler. As we worked with them on these devices we discussed the options of getting a air conditioner and new heater in the near future. They looked into their offers and found us a phenomenal deal to get all of it done, electrical included and helping us get rid of the old Evap cooler as well.

They did a phenomenal job installing it all quickly after we agreed to move forward (same week even!) and they explained how the new Thermostat worked along with our new AC and furnace. After the installation there were a few sounds some of the old air return made and these guys came out and on another day to repair it and make it right. This is top notch service in regards to ensuring the customer is getting taken care of. The package deal that was offered to us was an outstanding deal and the service was top notch, I recommend this group to anyone needing any of their specialities but the best part is their expertise I all the areas backed by wonderful customer service

Just to provide an update. I was able to resolve my toilet issues for about $50.

The only problem I had with the water heater were some clogged up hot water pipes. Again resolved for $250.

So I spent $300 total for everything that Tipping Hat quoted over $5,000 for. I would also note that the other company spent considerable time performing diagnostics on everything I had an issue with to ensure they gave me an accurate run down of the issues needing fixing. By comparison, Liberty with Tipping Hat looks at both my toilet and water heater for 2 seconds and just said I needed to replace everything. I'm not an idiot.

Do yourself a favor and stay away from these clowns if you don't want to be ripped off.

My boiler heater stopped working last winter. I had to use several electrical heater to heat up the house that my bill went up to $350+ monthly the whole winter.   I had total of 3 companies quoted for fixing it. The first 2 companies suggested replacung it that could cost $10,000-13000. Then I called tipping hat in Sep. Den came in to take a look, said he can clean to make it work for $1800. It took him 4+ hours to do the job in the dirty crawl space. This year, snow arrived early, my heater has worked well, my bill go down to $80. I can not be happier!

I called them because I had an outside faucet that wouldn't turn off.  Josh replaced the faucet and also put a shut off valve on the line. Great for winterizing the faucet.  He also checked the pressure coming into the house, which was too high, 100 psi.  He added a pressure regulator to bring it down to where it should be, 50 to 75 psi.  This actually cleared up a couple of minor issues I was having in the house.  I also had him put a new shut off valve for the water coming into the house.  The next day I noticed a very small drip coming from a pipe seam near where the work was done the day before.  Josh came back and fixed that no charge.  He told me everything he was doing and why.  Good Work

Rocky replaced a kitchen faucet, which I supplied.

Positives: I was able to get an appointment quickly; Rocky was pleasant and completed the work quickly.

Negatives: schedulers told me two different erroneous times that Rocky would arrive, and he actually arrived one hour beyond the window of time hat I was originally told; Rocky stated that the office did not tell him that he was supposed to do an annual plumbing inspection/maintenance; cost for removing my old kitchen faucet and replacing a new one was $421, which I find too high, though I paid it because I needed my kitchen sink back two days before Thanksgiving; the apparent company encouragement is to have their employees, once inside the home, upsell customers on things, like a $500 toilet re-build on a toilet that did not require that degree of work, and pushing the $5000 Halo whole house water treatment system to protect my pipes and plumbing fixtures.

Message to management: you should soft-pedal the upsell.

Unlike plumbing issues, I've waited way too long to write a review for Tipping Hat, sorry.

Chris Creach is a master of disaster!

He'll be able to calmly rectify any plumbing issues (whether self-induced or not) you have. He's fair, honest and keeps everything clean and tidy. He'll give you a few options based on the severity of the situation, allowing you to make a smart and affordable decision.

If I could give them zero stars I absolutely would, after coming out and giving a quote my husband inquired about their financing option listed on a Rheam air conditioning website that had them listed as a preferred provider (which was just one reason we chose to go with them) Kevin who came out assured us that they would honor the financing listed, so we went ahead and scheduled.  Move ahead 4 days before install my husband called to inquire what we needed to do to get the financing set up at which point they said they had no idea what we were talking about, so we pulled up the website and again said that Kevin assured us the company would honor it, however that's not the case and now we are left without air conditioning , hot and miserable and no one else available for 6 to 8 weeks!  What a waste of our time, and terrible business practices.  Id think twice before using them or at the very least get it in writing!

I bought a package deal beginning of November last year, it's now middle of February. After numerous calls, with no responses, it has still not been completed. I don't understand why this company gets good reviews unless they are fake ones from employees and their friends and families.

I was called out for a second opinion because tipping hat was there day before and told the home owner that their ac needed to be replaced because of a bad compressor       ,    Estimate was for $19,000 for a new furnace and ac.        Compressor was fine.  It was a $40 dual run capacitor that failed.   Any decent service tech could have seen that without even testing the capacitor.     Be aware of this company

Do not trust Tipping Hat to show up when they say they will.  They just cancelled on me for the THIRD time in a row.  The first time, they did so with an hour and a half's notice.  The second time was better: three hours.  Today they cancelled an hour into a two hour service window.  Seriously?

My power went out on the upstairs circuit. I thought it was a problem with the main breaker, which I checked and couldn't get the lights back on, so gave these guys a call. Can't remember the name of the gentleman who answered the phone, but he asked me a bunch of questions about the problem and told me to check if I had any GFCI outlets. I had totally forgotten about the one in my housemate's bedroom (out of sight out of mind). Sure enough that one had tripped! I pressed the button to reset and problem solved, plus it saved me a pricey and unnecessary service call. I appreciate the honesty, and will call these guys again next time I have a real problem

So disappointed. With our first interactions with this company we were impressed with customer service and happy with the installation of our ac and heater. Unfortunately after that it hasn't been that great. We have needed things to be looked at or fixed on more than one occasion and it seems they have some serious scheduling issues. We have had appointments canceled and postponed multiple times, sometimes not showing up without communication ahead of time. At one point after several rescheduled appointments they didn't even have the part they needed, and they knew what had to be done ahead of time!! And just today we tried to schedule an appointment to have someone come out and check our ac, which has not been working correctly. We knew it might not happen today but were pleasantly surprised when they said they could make it out this afternoon. Low and behold, we really should have been expecting it, they called back an hour later saying they had scheduled the wrong person and won't make it out for FIVE days. I guess the upside is that we are on the standby list but I won't hold my breath. If we didn't have our warranty we would be calling someone else. I hope they can get their scheduling system figured out so this doesn't keep happening to people who are counting on reliable information and service.

New hot water heater installed.  After discussing the pro's and con's of a tankless, we decided that the horizontal venting was not a good fit for our architecture.  They were able to give me a 20 year warranty on a tanked water heater which I did not think was possible.

On August 20, 2020, Tipping Hat Plumbing, Heating & Electric was hired to replace my A/C and furnace. I am dissatisfied with this company for the following reasons:
1. Tipping Hat neglects all administrative functions.
A. I had to remind the salesman of his quoted price. He forgot that he offered a $1500 discount.
B. Tipping Hat applied for the wrong permit valuation amount.
C. On the date of installation, Tipping Hat provided me with an AHRI certificate that outlines the wrong evaporator coil serial number. Tipping Hat completed Xcel Energy's Rebate application on my behalf with the incorrect information. No explanation has been provided as to what equipment was originally outlined.
D. My invoice states that Equipment Make (3) is noted as Rheem equipment, but an ADP Evaporator Coil was installed.
2. Tipping Hat fails to fulfill its contractual obligations
A. Denver's Development Services website states, Before you begin construction, you need to be sure your project complies with the Denver Zoning Code. I asked Ken, before the installation, if a Zoning Permit was required for my job and Ken told me over email that, Denver would not allow us to pull a zoning permit for this heating and cooling application. Additionally, Erin Eastwood, reviewed my question and did confirm that my job does not require this permit. Erin informed the CPC City Inspector that she has...never had to pull a zoning permit for an A/C in all my years doing this. On September 10, 2020, I received a violation stating I violated the Denver Zoning Code of the City and County of Denver. On October 7, 2020, Tipping Hat started the process of pulling the zoning permit, as their contract states they will obtain on my behalf; however, did not consult with me about the relocation of the unit.
B. Tipping Hat's contract states, Installed by Licensed Tech. I have requested the licensure of the technicians and have not been provided with that information. The lead technician on my invoice is listed as Brad; however, Brad was not present during the installation.
C. The electrical work was subcontracted to Elsco. There was no discussion around subcontracted work and Elsco's contractor status is about to expire.
D. Tipping Hat's contract states, Some companies cut corners by not pulling a permit or by not replacing auxiliary parts with your installation, whatever the case may be it's important to know what you are getting. Not only did they cut corners with the administrative oversight, but they also substituted the Rheem equipment with an ADP Evaporator Coil without informing me.
E. Tipping Hat's contract states, If you disagree, if you do not like the products or systems, or feel it was installed poorly, we will make it right or if we can't agree we'll give you all your money back, no questions asked. I have expressed numerous times that the unit was installed poorly. Here's why:
1. I was told to replace my working furnace  because it is not properly filtrated, needs to be rotated 180°, and to comply with HVAC best practices manufacturers should match. Not only does the configured filter cabinet not properly filter, but it is also in an inaccessible location and sharp sheet metal edges are exposed. Additionally, the unit occupies the same location and the manufacturers do not match. I requested to speak to the salesperson to discuss the discrepancies, and he is no longer employed with the company.
2. The installation has failed inspection due to, no combustion air, and flue increases lap going the wrong direction. Furnace/water heater must be vented correctly. No attempt has been made to correct.
3. I have been without heat since August 20, 2020. When I went to turn on my newly installed furnace during the snowstorm, it does not work due to the following error message, A045_F Inducer Lo Pressure Switch Won't Close. No attempt has been made to correct.
4. Martin, the unlicensed HVAC field manager, identified a gas leak on October 16, 2020, from the furnace, which has been leaking since the date of installation.

Did a good job, quick service but extremely over priced. Then they threw in an inspection of our furnace and AC which we didn't ask for. Wanted to replace what we had for $5k. Second opinion by our usual HVAC company and nothing needed fix, replaced, and were told they were trying to sell us a beach front property, site unseen. Would never recommend them!!

We love working with Tipping Hat and Justin Brown,  one of the electrician supervisors. We called them on a whim because of their trucks and received a quote for a second electric box install in our basement to be much lower than several other companies we had received bids from. They were so much lower that we may not have actually tried them out, except that we had worked with Justin when he was at a prior company and we remembered each other.

The service was great and when we had some questions a few weeks later (today), Tipping Hat sent Justin back out to check on things and answer all of our questions. We will absolutely use them again for other home maintenance needs we have! Thank you, Justin!!!

Had used Tipping Hat many times in the past at all of our rentals, withour issue. However, most recently I called scheduled an appt. the technician showed up and then stated they do not do any plumbing work on homes(condo, townhome) with adjoining walls.  I called the tech on this right away as Tipping Hat has done work on all our locations(condos and townhomes).  He then of course changed his story, yet still refused to even go in to the residence to at the very least diagnose the issue.

I called their CS, kinda a joke, as clearly the hand does not know what the head is doing, and vice-versa.  The CS Rep told me she would get ahold of management and get back to me, late the next day I was forced to call back again after not hearing from anyone.  Finally........someone did get back to me, but it became very clear that the 'customer-is-always-wrong' philosophy has infested Tipping Hat.

Tipping Hat came out to give me a price quote for my tankless hot water heater.   I was having problems with my hot water, it would not stay hot consistently , he gave me an estimate of $562.  Brian diagnosed the problem and did an excellent job and also adjusted my water pressure and did not charge for that .  I want to Thank Brian for his honesty and professionalism.  I had another company give me an estimate of $3000 plus dollars for some bogus trumped up imaginary work!   I normally don't give reviews but I wanted to make sure that I give credit where credit is due and where honesty and good work is hard to find

Kevin R showed up on the time frame after he gave me a courtesy call to let me know he is on his way. He diagnostic my air conditioning. He told me the bad news with empathy. He gave me 3 options to choose from and he also gave me the discounts and helped me with financing after he called at the office about my situation. I was very lucky to have some help. There was another guy (I didn't remember his name but his kindness) showed up to install my a/c. He was really professional and making sure everything is working in order. Next day, I have no hot water. I was very frustrated. I noticed the switch was off and I turned it on see if I am getting any hot water with no effort. Finally I got the hot water when Zabih P just showed up. I asked him if he could double check to make sure nothing is out of ordinary. His co-worker might have forgotten to switch it back on, not intentionally. I asked him about the filters I was told it was part of the package deal. I was wondering how this work. Zabih called at the office about the filter; he asked me I will be home; because he have to pick them up at the Home Depot. He did come back with the right size filters. I was very pleased how great professional and kindness he is. They are very lucky to have him!
I gave his co-worker the rebate forms to fill out; because there are some area they have to filled out. HE told me, he will drop these office first thing in the morning. I called at the office about the rebate forms; I was told they will take care of it. I really hope I will get the rebate back; which I am still waiting for it.
I received the phone call asking me if I did receive the package while I was at work. I did received the package; however it wasn't the right size. I called them to give them the heads up left in the message. I would like to return it back to them. NOTE: If these filters are the right sizes; I would still not keeping these. I knew there was lack of communication somewhere. They never returned my call. I would like to give them a big 5 stars.
Robert P. is also a great guy as well. And also Chad, he is very extremely helpful when he is trying to make my wi-fi thermostat's connection working.
Yes, I still using their service; because they have showed me their professionalism that they truly cares.

When I scheduled I was given a window from 2-4 for the technician to arrive. I called at 1:10 and was told the technician would be here right at 2pm.  At 2:40 when he still hadn't shown up I called the company and was told he was still at another appointment and would be calling when he was on his way. I received a call at 3:10, telling me he was not on his way AND that he wouldn't be here until after 4:30. When speaking with the office manager he had nothing but excuses. What a waste of time!!!!!

Please read this before hiring Tipping Hat!

We had our laundry line back up a couple of weeks ago so we had a different company come out and clear that line. In doing so, they suggested we have the mainline cleaned also. I read the reviews on Tipping Hat so I hired them to come out and clear the mainline.

We had a younger plumber come out and clear the mainline but he suggested we have someone come out with a camera to scope the mainline as he said something seemed odd. What a coincidence! Tipping Hat will video your mainline for free! Keith came out and immediately told us that our mainline was busted under the sidewalk and we needed to act fast or our basement will flood. He told us No showers, no laundry, no nothing until we get this fixed because it could back up into the house. With his discounted price, only $4,800.

I panicked and told him to proceed even though his estimate was $4,800. My wife luckily told me to get a second opinion. We just had another plumber come out and tell us that we were about to get completely screwed over by Tipping Hat. The first guy didn't clear our entire mainline. He cleared it up to a point, which then just built up even more gunk in one area.

They set us up and were going to make us pay $4,800 for something that was completely unnecessary, I will never use them again and will write a review on every single website that allows me to do so in order to keep other people from getting scammed by this company. How could a company do this to someone so easily? I'm beyond appauled. Please save yourself some money and get a second opinion any time you choose to use Tipping Hat.

Good luck.

Once again, I received outstanding service from this company!  Dustin did a superb job installing two pressure relief valves and fixing a leak.  He finished the job quicker than I imagined, and the work looked really good!  I recommend the use of this company to anyone looking to have some work done.  They've worked with me on plumbing, heating, and electrical issues in my house, and I've been extremely happy with their work.  The scheduling desk also calls and sends text messages to ensure the company and the customer are in sync regarding the appointment.  This is helpful and gives you peace of mind they'll show up at the right time, which is especially important when you've taken off from work to be at home.  Great job!

Tipping hat fixed all our heating and water problems! They were honest and did an amazing job replacing our boiler and fixing our drain problems. Every one there is great especially Chad and Tristan who went out of his way to make friends with our pup who can be a jerk sometimes. We've had a lot of people help us fix up our house and Tipping Hat is the only company I would recommend hands down to anyone who needs heating/plumbing work. Well I decided to use home advisor, and HomeAdvisor indicates that my appointment is set for 11 AM. 11 AM came and went no Tipping Hat AC. So I called them directly and they said oh no there's a window between 11 and one so I said all right well I guess I'll have to wait around for you guys to show up no problem then. Well  1 o'clock comes around and no one shows up again so I called them and I said what's going on? They said no we have you scheduled for Monday and I said no I just spoke with you guys two hours ago and you said my window today was from 11 to 1. So needless to say if they can't even schedule appointment correctly I'm not going to use them for my business and spend thousands of dollars. No way.

Joey was wonderful but everyone we've dealt with since him has been aweful. We had another tech come out to make sure they brought the correct parts when they did the work. He came in and was confused on why he was even there, and wasted my time off work for nothing. He also wreaked of cigarettes. Then a different tech came a few days later to do the work and without saying anything used my nice kitchen RUG to soak up nasty water and then grabbed a COOKING pot to catch the nastiness from our broken disposal! To make matters worst, he left that nasty pot on our kitchen counter for us to find after he had left. Shouldn't plumbers have their own suppies knowing t is going to happen??? Or at least ask for an old towel or bucket, which we had!? Currently looking for a new plumber. UPDATE- we went with Lakewood plumbing and heating and it cost us less than half the price Tipping Hat quoted us and they were so professional!

If I could give zero stars I would, BEWARE they will quote you a price that is absolutely ridiculous!!! We broke a bathroom faucet off in the bathroom and we knew that the stem broke off as well, the plumber came to the house and stepped one foot in the bathroom and without even giving it a good look said yep that will cost 1595.00!!!! Then he said that he would throw a free drain in for free since he could tell we were having problems with it (we were not) that was saving us 700.00. My husband came home looked at it and went to the plumbing store and replaced the stem and knobs for 39.00. What a joke of a company!!!!

The electrician came as promised and on time. However, he was young and inexperienced. I complained to the management that he did not take his time to diagnose the problem but immediately jumped on an expensive and unneeded solution. Also, he showed his inexperience by not using gloves for a halogen light and other tips. However, a senior person came out and then the assistant manager came out to address the problems right away. The assistant manager, Justin, fixed the problems and provided estimates for a long term solution. He assured me the young one would be apprenticed to a more senior person. Point is, they immediately resolved the problem, so I am giving them 4 stars. thank you.

High pressure sales tactics (which I fell for) lead to (in my opinion) being way overcharged.  Then, they didn't do the work as promised.  Never followed up as they said they would either.  The work they did seems to function properly - it better for the price.  I will never use them again.

I called this company at the beginning of the summer to service my Swamp Cooler. I did this because this was advertised on their web page. The tech came out, to his credit he Hooked the swamp cooler up and got it working. He did not charge for that service.
He gave me a quote of $900.00 to fix or replace the water pump. The water pump is still working today. Of course I was not going to pay that much. I think they did not want to do a small job like this. He did advise me to call a handy man.

Worst company I have ever dealt with.

They came out and sold me on a rejuvenation of my HVAC which they said would take about four hours and would have my system up and running again.

Instead the service man came out, spent less then one hour, and told me I needed to replace the system as the repairs would cost as much as a new system, then they billed mey $360!

I called them and they just gave me the runaround.

I disputed the charge on my credit card, stating I was will to pay $60 for their time, but not $360.

Instead of providing decent customer service, they pointed out to the CC company that I had signed the invoice, and go pound sand.

I will NEVER do business with them again, nor would I recommend them to anyone, unless you enjoy getting ripped off.

I had a slow dripping shower head. Called Tipping Hat and scheduled an appointment. First appointment was a no show, called and notified them that no one showed up. They apologized and I then re-scheduled a next day 9:00 - 11:00 AM Apt. Two guys showed up un announced...I was told I would get a call or text before arriving. I had to hop out of shower to make sure they did not leave. After Tipping Hat guys looked at the shower they said they needed to write up an estimate. First estimate was for $700.00 to replace only specialty cartridge. Second estimate was for $7000,00... yes Seven Thousand dollars and this would be to change it to a Kohler shower head & wall handle fixture. it would require removing tiles and installing a new panel over removed tiles to have it work.

Thank God for Google. I took out the cartridge & found a O-ring that needed to be replaced. Cost on Amazon $9 for a O-ring set and $10 for some lubricant silicone sealant.  Dripping in shower head has now stopped.

I would definitely Google your issue or getting a second opinion, unless you like to spend a lot of money. I do not recommend Tipping Hat.

I hired this company in January '20 to replace a collapsed main sewer line.  These are the issues I had:
- Had to repeatedly remind service people every time they came over (5-6 times) to cover the carpet so dirt & sewage was not tracked on it.  To no avail, carpet was a mess and had to have it cleaned or replaced
- Left work unfinished connecting laundry room sink to sewer line and had to ask repeatedly to come back and connect it - took about 2 weeks
- Service men continually had to stop work and go get more equipment because they didn't seem to carry the right tools.
- The work was extensive and expensive so had to finance.  They offered financing so decided to go that route (2 years no interest).  Would not let me read or provide me the terms & conditions of the agreement before signing. Was unable to give them to me afterwards.  Had to call Wells Fargo to get them and once I read them, I refused them.  Went back to Tipping Hat for other options on financing.
- Decided on Synchrony (aka GE financing).  It has been 4+ months to try and square away the financing and it is STILL NOT Resolved.  We have had 12-15 different conversations on this.  Most of the time it has be hashing over the same issues without resolution.
- Ken at Tipping Hat is unable to understand my questions, concerns or even understand the terms of the agreement he is signing his customers up for yet insists he has to be the middle man between me and the bank - everything gets lost in translation or has to be repeated.  Even after the numerous calls it is clear he does not understand the legality of Ts & Cs yet insists on being the person.
- He continually tries to make me feel like I should not read the terms because others don't read them, and I am the only one who does.
I feel I have been patient with this company and have tried to work with them and be flexible but 4+ months is more than enough time to square away financial issues.  Had I known it would have been this difficult I would have hired a different company.

Horrible customer service. Placed a service call early in the morning for a leaking water heater. Given a 2-hour time window for later in the day, stayed home from work. Received a message 20 minutes before the service call to call Jessica back. Called her back, put on hold, she never answered. Called back a little later, After a long hold, told that Jessica would call me back. She never called me back. Called again, she answered and said that I cancelled my service call. I did not, she insisted I did, and they couldn't come  until the next day. If I cancelled, why was she calling me? Apparently this happens to others from reading reviews. Would never recommend this company with their poor customer service, they are really messed up. Luckily, I could get another company to come out that evening.

Past performance is not an indicator of future success.

We've had Tipping Hat in our home a few times. Twice, we were impressed by quick, friendly, competent service for electrical issues. Each time, they could have pushed us into spending more, but appeared to cut us a break. We were impressed.
So, when the freak mid-May cold snap & snowstorm hit yesterday and our furnace went cold, we gave them a call.

I was called by their supervisor/tech, who explained that Part A was broken and needed replacing. $1100. Once he replaced that, he could tell me if Part B ($800) was also defective. Hmmm--Spider Sense Tingling. If I wanted to proceed, he needed a credit card now. Since the card was in my car, a few minutes' walk from my office, I asked if I could call him back and if he could email me an estimate first. That didn't go over well. He said that if he took the time to email me, he couldn't guarantee service that day. My toddler's bedroom was 59 degrees. I felt pressured. I walked out to get the card and realized that my builder-grade furnace cost $2k brand new. He was pushing spending nearly that to repair it. I called him back and passed.  It just felt wrong.

To make a long story short, I'm sitting in my toasty living room right now because we called a competitor, who came right over this afternoon, fixed only Part B, and charged me $80 less for it.  He said there was nothing wrong with Part A, and it appears he's right. Instead of spending $1900 to fix a $2000 furnace, I dropped a fraction of that.

So, while I tip my hat to these guys for the little things, when real dollars are in play, I will call someone else. Today's experience smacked of either incompetence or dishonesty. I can't afford either.

NEVER USING AGAIN!!!! DO NOT USE!!!!
OVER CHARGED AND GAVE US A PATHETIC $100 CREDIT FOR MAKING US WAIT A WEEK TO USE DRAINS.
Quoted $10,400 and never sent a copy of the bid after numerous requests. Charged $10,600 for the job and offered an almost offensive $300 credit to bring the job back to the original bid.

Have been waiting for them to replace the line. Been without drains for over a week. Came out almost a week ago and dug a hole in our yard to collect sewage and have not been back since. No communication from the company. It has been us reaching out to them for any information. If they do not show up tomorrow and fix what they started I will be contacting the BBB and filing a complaint against them. The pit of raw sewage they left us with for almost a week is more than likely a violation.

Not ever going to use these Guys again. I needed my kitchen sink snaked and the repair Guy had it done quickly and easily. Ended up giving me an estimate and telling me I needed a whole new sewer line that would cost me about $20,000!! But they will finance me.
I got a 2nd opinion and line is just fine. Not too sure why they told me what they did and I feel totally taken advantage of!

First of all, I made an appt. and called two min. later to ask if they had an earlier appt. because I was going to take the day off.  When they did not show up for the earlier apt, I called them and they said they only showed the later appt.  They did not show up at all, nor did they call.

I had called several places for quotes for a new furnace and air conditioner for our house and Sean Farris with Tipping Hat was the only one who never dropped the ball with us.  And I had emailed him so many questions and I'm sure I was a headache customer and he always was sweet and patient and would take the time to explain everything to me.  Also he made sure I got the best deal for our money.  The team who installed our units were so polite and kind and fast they respected our house like it was theirs.  I will always refer him and Tipping Hat for everything. They are people you can trust.

I strongly advise you find different plumbers. Trying to get these guys to complete a job is a joke. I have spent over $4,000 on a project and they still haven't completed it and completely missed my appointment with no communication. Jessica is very unprofessional and has completely ignored my requests to get follow-up service scheduled. After speaking directly to one of the managers I was finally scheduled to complete my job, but this time no one showed up for my appointment at all. This is beyond frustrating.

I called Tipping Hat because I was afraid to trust the old furnace to make it through another winter.  Kevin came to take a look.  He found out that it was leaking and the motor was seized up and not turning on.  He was kind and explained the problem to me so I could understand.  He gave me very solid information about the different choices in a new furnace.  He also told me about the program they have for payments that I can afford.  I enjoyed visiting with him.  Next day Tristan & another young man came and took out the old furnace and installed the new one.  The whole process took about 3 hours.  They were very careful about my house and the carpet.  The furnace came on right away.  Good thing, because the temperature was 60 outside.  I called just in time!  I will recommend Tipping Hat to my neighbors.

It was the electrical scare tactic.  Your house will burn down.  If there is nothing else from the $8,000 dollars we spent learning that it should have been 3,000 from a qualified electrician who came by, it's that we are paying it forward!!

We worked with Tipping Hat on a bathtub installation at our new place.  Kevin was a rockstar.  After our first tile contractor ditched us on the day of the job, he was willing and flexible enough to work with our mad dash to get a new tile contractor and make a few last minute trips to our place to finish the job.

Been nothing but a hassle with this company. Over $20k to fix two furnaces, hot water heater, and AC unit and nothing but my headaches once everything was installed. Had to come out to replace water heater due to loud noises; had to come out again to deal with a leaking condensate pump that froze in attic (how did they not see that coming); failed electrical, mechanical and plumbing inspections; and now my attic furnace is leaking and (thankfully) turned itself off. They are not open on Sundays and apparently have no emergency service. And the people in the office don't have a clue what is going on. Constant scheduling issues, poor communication, and just feels like they're blowing smoke every time you call them.

I got a quote from this plumbing company to replace 2 kitchen faucets with 2 new Kohler faucets, as well as remove and replace a dying Insinkerator garbage disposal with a new and better version. The quote was $1393 and I had already paid for the two faucets and the garbage disposal, meaning that this quote was for labor only.  It was not a weekend or holiday or a rush request.  The installer arrived on time and did an excellent job, finishing within 3 hours.
I thought this job was going to take much of the afternoon and when the installer left, it occured to me that I had just paid over $460/hour for the job!
Shame on me for not getting more than one estimate. I was so anxious to get the job done that I made the age-old mistake of taking the first bid.
I spent my entire career in sales of building products from doors and windows to, yes, specialty hardware. Although Tipping Hat are very good at what they do, I now know that they are highly overpriced.  I can only suggest that you shop around and compare quotes, ALWAYS!

Scheduled an appointment. On the day it was scheduled they called to reschedule saying no plumbers were available. On the day of the reschedule, they called again to say no plumbers were available and provided the number for their sister company. While I appreciate the number, I'm not going to use the services of a company recommended by Tipping Hat since they cancelled twice the day of an appointment.

Great people, great service! Neil used his 20 years of plumbing experience to diagnose our problem in less than 30 seconds. He knew what was wrong from my description and one look confirmed he was correct. He did his best to soften the blow on the bad news, then he and Zabih did a great job of clearing up the bathtub drain, which turned out to be a separate problem.

The company e-mailed descriptions and bios of both technicians ahead of time, then they phoned and let us know they were on the way. They showed up right when they said they would. We would definitely use these guys again.

Our HVAC system is working, but they are 25 years old, so we decided this is the year we would replace them and not wait until it is 95 degrees or freezing. We called them last week to come out to give us an estimate. Today was the earliest they could make it. They gave us a window between 1 and 3:00 and said they would call 1/2 hour before they got here. It's almost 4:00 and we haven't gotten so much as a phone call. Won't do business with someone that unreliable if they do show up now.

You have to be in your guard if you use these guys. Their MO is to send the less experienced tech out whose job is to tell you that perhaps you have a bigger problem and the supervisor needs to check it out. This is how they upsell you. My tech told me that my furnace was so bad it needed to be replaced and he'd have his supervisor contact me. I got the obligatory call but did not return it and they never called again. Interesting that if my furnace was so bad they had a mandatory obligation to red tag it. Had it checked by another company and nothing wrong. This company bought an independent contractors business. I had used that guy for years. Be he was great. He retired. He would be mortified to know this company holds none of his ideals. Most of this guys original customers have had similar experiences and won't use tipping hat.

This review is based only on the bids Tipping Hat provided, not on actual work. Tipping Hat came out the SAME DAY that I called for estimates on a new furnace, AC system and water heater, which was GREAT!  And the tech who came out was professional, courteous and knowledgeable. However, I didn't realize this is a flat rate company -- meaning they give you a flat bid based on the pricing book -- so you can't see what they are charging for each line item in the estimate. Their bid was more than DOUBLE the bid of another HVAC company for install of a furnace, AC system and water heater. ($12k vs more than $24k). While the very pleasant tech tried to explain all the wonderful extras that are included in their bid, there is no way those extras are worth $12k.  So, kudos for promptness in responding to my request, consider another company that will show you, line by line, what is included in your bid -- so you can compare it to the other bids you get.

Bought a Faucet on line and needed it installed. Reached out to Tipping hat via Angies list with a very quick response.  They came out the same day and installed the new faucet.  Connor Brady showed up on time and was very professional. He offered up a couple of ways in mounting the faucet and his suggestion was the best.  Once totally installed he took the time to show the boss (my wife) how to operate it which was great. The service was beyond expectations and would recommend Tipping Hat and Connor to anyone.

This company is a rip off. I had a clogged shower drain. My boyfriend and I were only able to clear it to a point. The drain also needed replacing, so I called Tipping Hat on the recommendation of a neighbor. I said what I needed done, and made the appointment. Kieth came out and didn't do any work, just gave me a quote, which was odd. He said he'd be back the next morning, and would jet/video the line, replace the drain, and the p-trap.

The next morning, Kieth didn't show (they said he was sick), and the guy they sent didn't have a jet or video. He started replacing the drain. About an hour later, another guy named Liberty showed up. He stuck a camera down the drain, and declared that my pipe was broken, and it would be $4,800, not including fixing the wall! He showed me what looked like mud on the little screen, but didn't give me a video. He also said my sewer line could use replacing, at the tune of $16,000. When I said that other plumbers told me to just rooter the sewer line every year, he went on a rant that all Colorado plumbers are just handymen who didn't know anything. I tried to have them stop work on the drain, but they refused. Finishing the drain actually turned out to be the proof that Liberty was trying to sell me a job that didn't need doing. Liberty also said not to run the shower, that I could get water under the house (thankfully, I didn't listen to him).

I talked to Ken, one of the owners, probably 7 times over the next 24 hours. When I asked for a copy of the video, he couldn't produce one, but said they'd give me one once they came out to do the work (presumptive close). When I said I wanted a second opinion, he wanted to send another of HIS guys. Again, not a good answer. When he got that I wasn't buying their answers, he tried to give me free services. I did not want them in my house again. I didn't trust them by then.

I had a trusted person come and look. He didn't have the equipment, but did find me another company that ONLY does video, and acts as a second opinion. I'll post a review of them, later.

I now have it confirmed, that my shower line is perfectly fine. It is not broken. And, my sewer line just needs to be cleared of roots, for now. Plus, if any of that work really needed to be done, there are companies much less expensive than Tipping Hat.

As I learned by talking to three of their plumbers, Tipping Hat recruits from out of state. Two of them said they were master plumbers, but I wonder now if that was even true.  My recommendation, always get multiple opinions before spending your hard-earned cash, and be suspicious of any company that gives you a loss leader to get in the door, or disparages other plumbers.

Comment I made today to them...boy, you guys never fail to disappoint. I made an appt with them 10 days ago for warranty work on my AC unit that is less than a year old that's been shorting out. I received a text message telling me to call them 15 minutes before the window of time. Called back and had to leave a message...they called back at 11:18 (18 minutes past window) telling me that had to reschedule. I scheduled my ENTIRE day of meetings around this. I waited 10 days because they insisted that I be here. They NEVER fail to disappoint. Below is my original review.

I've tried. I would argue that I've tried harder than I should have...so much so that I have waited to write this review really hoping things would turn around but they haven't. I'm sitting here just now realizing that my inspector is coming today and Tipping Hat blew me off yet again last week for a required electrical failed component for my AC install from August (yes...August). This company has a few bright lights. Jessica, Brian and most of all, Dan. The rest are mostly infuriating. They have done a full AC and furnace replacement as well as a water line and drain installation on an addition. I am in with this company about $15,000.

First, Sean Farris is never allowed on my property again. He's a salesman. He's dishonest. He's unresponsive. He says whatever. He quoted me for the drain and water line install without considering the reality of it which created a huge mess, potentially a lot more money for me and a complicated install for the team. Dan and Brian, of course, pulled it off. This was after Sean said someone would be here multiple times and no one showed.

They are disorganized. Their AC install failed inspection and I had to notify them of that (even though they pulled the permit) and the electricians were sent out without notifying me that they were coming. The electricians were pissy that I 1) didn't know why it had failed (I'm, uh, not an electrician) and 2) didn't have the time to deal with it right then as I was in a meeting. They ended up turning off the circuit breaker for my AC without telling me (spite?) which made my house 80 degrees and leaving. My AC unit still isn't up to code and the appointment I made for last Thursday that I had to call and follow up about when the inspectors brought it up when inspecting my addition was a no show. Jessica has been amazing. She is trying really hard to help me and provide me with amazing service but she can only do so much. I have a service contract with these guys and I am not excited to have to deal with this for the next however many years.

I have tried! Seriously tried! Most of your front line team are rock stars. Your electrical contractor sucks except for the one young female electrician. Your scheduling is disorganized. No-showing for one appt? Crummy but forgiveable. No-showing for now 4? Completely unprofessional!  Get it together! I am HAPPY to revise my review if you STOP MESSING THIS UP WITH ME. I can be a good customer reference but good grief!

Unfortunately I am unable to comment on the quality of work for this company because they never showed up! We needed the simplest job done: an electrical outlet changed to a hard-wired box, for our new wall oven. Tipping Hat was available, and I needed a working oven, so I scheduled them. The worker arrived and looked at the job. He said $359!!!  I was shocked. I had expected to pay for an hour of time, so was anticipating it would cost around $100. Because I had to have it done that day, I told the worker I thought it was an outrageous price, but I had no choice. He countered with his spiel that Tipping Hat is a full-service professional operation, with expert workers, so they cost more. (Yeah, right!)
The worker spent maybe 30 minutes on the job, using one cheap metal box he had in his truck.
So, for that I paid $359!!!  I'll never call Tipping Hat again.
P.S. I keep getting emails from Tipping Hat, wanting my feedback. Twice I have sent my comments to them, and they have not responded a single time.
Stay away from Tipping Hat!!!

Everyone else offered appointments in 1-4 days when I called for a quote on a new furnace and a/c, which I waited for even though we had no heat and it was 10 degrees out, and they charged me a $70 service fee. I should have called Tipping hat first! They came out within just a few hours of my call for a FREE quote and offered installation the next day. Tipping hat beat the next closest quote by more than $5,000 for a comparable system. The installation they did only took one day and their work was top notch, they even gave me a 3 year service plan for the equipment!

I did not select this company for work but can share my experience and pricing. This is by far the most expensive company that I received a quote from for a new AC unit, and a new 200 amp breaker. I received over 5 quotes from companies in the area.

The electrician, Keith, was super helpful but just not competitive on price.

The AC guy, Preston, was the rudest most condescending salesman Ive ever dealt with. Makes comments about how poor you are for not selecting the 30k premium quote he gives you.

I can't comment on their work product but they do offer the responsiveness of a large company. I'm sure they are competent.

Used Tipping Hat for replacing 3 outdoor motion security lights.  Justin was professional, friendly, fast and experienced!  Price was slightly over the estimate and no specific reason was given except that the initial estimate was for 4 lite replacements and we just did 3 instead of 4.  Justin gave us estimate for other work we need and we will be using Tipping Hat again.   I had to call the office to get a message to ask question about the work that was performed and the office staff at Tipping Hat were very helpful and professional.

Boo. Another company in the business of ripping consumers off -- we needed just a mast that was bent from storm damage replaced (the metal piece alone, so the electric company could come back and hook our line back up).

We get their estimate, and they try selling us an entire replacement and relocation of the entire set-up for $6600. Some sort of BS about the electric being improperly installed -- but we were just permitted and inspected. They just don't want to do a simple repair... Anyone else we spoke to estimated a few hundred bucks for the visit and repair of just the mast.

Super disappointing and dishonest...

I can not say enough of the great customer service I received with Tipping Hat.  I booked them thru Home Advisor as I was struggling to get an electrician here within a few days for an outside light that was not working....no one likes to come home to pitch black and can not see where the key goes into the lock.

Jessica called me on my day of service to let me know she had a cancellation and the technician could come earlier - woohoo that was amazing.  Unfortunately I had booked other appointments and could not do it but kuddos for an organization that goes above and beyond.  Then at my appointment time Shane showed up promptly in uniform.  He quickly assessed the issue and provided us with a multitude of options to fix it - my kind of person.  I also asked him to give me some recommendations and explanations as we bought the home a year ago and we needed some other potential work done.  Again, great assessments and quality solutions within a reasonable price.

Oh and Jessica called back earlier because Shane she thought was lost and had not arrived...but he solved it himself and he was punctual!

We definitely will call them for all our needs!

Trash. They didn't even finish the work but were very persistent about collecting the money before the project was done. Terrible workmanship. And they wired the furnace incorrectly which caused a lot of issues. They never returned my calls to finish the job and get out there with an inspector.

I was having issues with vents not flowing AC properly. I contacted Tipping Hat for a technician to come out and help determine the issue. The technician arrived in a timely manner and was working to determine the issue. He noticed some repairs that were needed and gave us a quote for repairs. It seemed reasonable and do-able. Then he had one of his managers come out as well to check it out, and suddenly according to the manager we need an entire new system. He started looking all over the home and found all sorts of issues he wanted to fix. Before I knew it, he has created an amount of replacements & repairs that totaled $17,000. He never once offered the option of repairs only that the original technician gave us, but was strictly focused on replacing everything with someone brand new. He talked a good game, knowing I was naive to HVAC systems and repairs, and made me feel like our only option was to replace everything. He was very pushy and basically assumed I was ready to agree to a $17,000 replacement cost on the spot. He also never once asked if I wanted to get a second opinion before agreeing to all of this. He assumed I would do it, had the paperwork to sign ready to go and would send out a person to start replacements the following day. I told him I wanted to think about it, but he was insisting if I wait at all, the prices would change and I would be paying even more than what he already stated. I told him I was not ready to make such a huge decision and wanted to think about it, but he essentially forced me to apply for pre-approval for financing so that I would be pre-approved when I decided to agree (again, assuming I would agree to this $17,000 replacement). Because I was so overwhelmed by what he was saying to me, I applied for the pre-approval making sure to ask multiple times that this was not opening an account for payments, but just checking to see if I would be approved for financing. He assured me that nothing would be opened in my name. After he left, I reached out to others and realized how he had duped me into believing I needed a $17,000 replacement system. I contacted him back letting him know I did not want to move forward with anything and again brought up the pre-approval and making sure it wasn't going to open and start a brand new account for me. He confirmed that it wouldn't do anything. Yet today, I received a new card and information about my first payment for this pre-approval. I called the card company and handled it, closed my account, but I am livid that I was forced into this by an incredibly pushy salesman who assured me multiple times that nothing would be opened in my name, and also felt it was necessary to PUSH a $17,000 replacement system rather than letting me get repairs like the original technician had shared with me. I have no intention of contacting Tipping Hat again due to this encounter.

I received a flyer inside the value pack mailer yesterday. I called today to schedule an appointment and they told me that they were all booked up for the season. Why would you send an advertisement in the value pack only to tell people that you are all booked up for the season. My personal opinion is after I told them what my problem was with my air conditioner, I think it was just too small of a job for them considering it's now summer. But what a horrible thing to do by advertising and then telling a customer that you are all booked up for the season. I also speculate that they only want to do big jobs like installing a new air conditioner. Don't bother calling them if you have a small job because chances are they're going to tell you that they are all booked up for the season. So I decided to put my theory to the test and I called back a few hours later asking if I could get an estimate on a new air conditioning unit and shockingly they had an appointment available. Shady business practices!!

Had a back up, called to get lined cleared, instead was told my line was collapsed without even having my line cleaned first.  Told it would be$6500 minimum to fix.

Called Swan for a second opinion,  they cleared my line and stated that my line did have roots but was not collapsed. They also stated to me that my initial diagnosis was obtained completely wrong. The first step would be to try to clear the line first then send a camera down.

Tipping hat did not do that, just sent a camera down and told me it was collapsed. Shame on you guys!!!

Scheduled Tipping Hat to start up our evaporative cooler, which went fine. The technician came out and diagnosed a problem with the cooler.  He ordered the replacement part and we scheduled the follow up the next day.  2 hours before the scheduled time, they called and cancelled to reschedule for the next day.  Because I had already changed my own work schedule, I asked for some assurance that the rescheduled time would be honored.  They assured me it would be.  2 hours before the second appointment, they called and cancelled again.  Fool me once, shame on me; fool me twice, shame on you.  I understand that scheduling is not a precise science, but I don't need to give business to an entity that has so little regard for its customers' schedule.

I will never recommend this company to anyone. Two years ago we had a new swamp cooler installed. Yesterday, the ceiling in my office collapsed from rain water getting in around the seal of the new cooler. Apparently, the old trunk was really corroded and instead of bringing it to our attention, they installed the new unit right on top of it. Had it been brought to our attention we would have had the trunk fixed two years ago. Now we are left with figuring out how to repair this. Never again.

We needed our furnace cleaned and certified before moving.  Tipping Hat was able to schedule us on short notice and Jessica provided updates as to who would be coming and when.  Justin showed up on time and gave a courtesy call before showing up.  His customer service was top notch and he was able to get everything completed in a timely manner.  On top of that, he honored my mailer coupon for the service.  Thank you for everything!

Got a coupon for $19 so I called these guys and mentioned the coupon - the tech came out to my house, spent about 15 mins before telling me I needed a new A/C unit and then charged me the regular price $29. Sleazy sales job. Was going to use them to eventually install two A/C units and two furances when they died out - not anymore.

Good work when it finally gets done but nothing seemed to be on time or up to any reasonable person's standard for quality work.

I was initially told the partial bathroom remodel would take 3 days - this was on 2/1/17 and the job is still not done. Well, it is if you ask the guy doing the work. I had to text him and ask him if he was coming back again to finish and he told me he thought he was finished!

Then I wondered when he was going to put on the shower handle base and the shower handle because usually I need a handle of some sort to turn on the water.

Also, what kind of decent contractor leaves behind a mess? I'm talking about paint drops on the vanity and toilet, dust still everywhere, I mean, who does that and then calls it complete?

I would NOT recommend this company to anyone. Maybe I wasn't assigned the company's all-stars but dang, get a grip.

Jeff came out to my house to install a water pressure regulator and to change the water main valve.  He was prompt, professional and very personable.  He is the kind of guy you would feel comfortable leaving in your home to work even if you were not at home.  Jeff showed and explained everything he did and made sure I understood.   Competent and confident.  While he was working, he smelled gas and showed me where I had a leak on my water heater with his gas sniffer.  He fixed that for me while he was there.  I liked the fact that he showed me the price book and was still able to offer me a discount for the work. I couldn't be happier with Jeff and Tipping Hat and would definitely use them again as well as recommend them to others!

We had another problem with our hot water heater. This was the third one we have put in since owning the home, which is above the average. We are buying high end product so it's not that we bought budget units in the past and they didn't last.
Muris came out the the house, arrived at his scheduled time which I appreciate, and said we did need another hot water heater. He also told us that the problem was coming from the water softener. We did some checking and he was correct.
He scheduled us for an replacement for both units. He showed up on the install day prior to Sean, the installer, and helped me get everything ready. Sean worked from 8:30 - 4:30 replacing the units, corrected pipe issues along with a pressure valve problem. Everything they promised they did and more.
Yes you can find a less expensive place to do the same work, but after this being our 4th replacement, had the work been done correctly the first time, this may have been only our second unit. The difference in price and warranty is worth the quality of work you receive.
I would recommend Tipping Hat, Muris and Sean for any work you may need.

I've used Tipping Hat several times for hooking up and disconnecting our swamp cooler.  I've always been impressed with their professionalism and responsiveness.  Therefore when I ran into a plumbing problem they were the only company I called to help me fix it.  Landon McGill not only came out and gave me an estimate and a good window for getting the repair done, he showed up himself to do the work when some scheduling issues came up.  Landon stayed late to get our job done and provided me several options when he ran into different obstacles.  When stuff didn't work right, he figured out a way to solve it.  At the end, even though he stayed pretty late, I ended up with a great looking working shower within the original estimate -- even if with some extra issues that cropped up.  Landon was awesome and I wouldn't hesitate to use him again.  Tipping Hat may not be the cheapest service provider, but when it comes to things that can flood my house -- I don't want cheap, I want honest and reliable -- that is Tipping Hat.

Scheduled an appointment for a residential plumbing issue which needed attention. We set an appointment to be at our house in 2 days, first thing in the morning. I arrange for time off work. They left a message late the night before cancelling. I called and rescheduled the next day; Can't come for another 2 days. Okay.  I called the afternoon before to confirm the second appointment. They apparently forgot to write down the appointment date. Can't come out now for another 3 days.  Sigh. I asked a basic plumbing question. The guy didn't know. He said, I am not a plumber. I don't know anything about plumbing problems. Good grief!

These people don't want your business, and don't deserve it.

At first I had a good experience with this company. I used an online provider site to get some quotes about a plumbing issue and Tipping Hat contacted me quickly. They sent out a plumber to look at my leaky faucet issue the day after I called them back. I agreed to what I thought was a pricey estimate because I had to get this done ASAP (moving out of town in a couple days type ASAP). When the actual plumber came out to fix the leak, he told me the issue was not fixable as quoted because of the placement of the pipe in the wall rather than the crawl space. The extra fix was done on the spot and now the house has a turnoff for the outside faucet, which it didn't have before, which adds some benefit. The total was around $900, which seemed like a lot of money for a leaky outside faucet fix, but I didn't have time to get other estimates. I thought the guy who fixed the faucet was a nice guy.

This morning just after 8AM I called them again to get someone out to fix a leak that another plumber caused when not attaching a garbage disposal correctly. I asked for the same guy that fixed my faucet, but he was not available until Tuesday, but I needed it done sooner. So I agreed to be at my empty house between 1-3 for a plumber to show up. It's just past 5PM and I am still waiting no plumber, no call, no nothing. Around 4:45PM I called the main office to find out what was going on and although they close at 5PM, no one answered. I am still hoping a guy will come out, but I have no way of knowing, so I have to call around now and scramble to make sure this gets done by Monday. First experience, good buy very pricey, second experience, very poor customer service.

Technicians who did the installation were very good: professional, efficient, and courteous. But when a manufacturing defect was discovered in one of the units installed, the company has been extremely difficult to deal with in correcting the problem. Two months have gone by and the problem has not been fixed. Three times they have set a date and time to fix the problem, but have no-showed each time without even a phone call to let me know.  Update: we may be on our way to a fix, hopefully soon!

I got several quotes for installing new A/C units and this company was on at the low range of all the bids. Coupled with their 0% financing (5 years, if you installed two units), this was the only company that made financial sense for my rental property. Jake and Alden got both AC condenser units installed in a day and they were great to work with. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH TIPPING HAT. POOR SCHEDULING AND PROGRAM MANAGEMENT WILL RESULT IN HEADEACHES AND COST IMPACTS ON YOUR NEXT PROJECT.
My wife and I bought our first house in 2018 with full intention of making it our dream house. When we saved up enough money, we decided it was time to remodel our kitchen. We contracted out Tipping Hat to complete the necessary electrical infrastructure and modifications necessary to make our kitchen a reality. Billy Wright was our project supervisor who provided the original bid. Our project took several months to complete from demolition to completion, during that time two electricians came out a handful of times to perform electrical tasks per the understood project scope of work. On multiple occasions the electricians told us they will be back to complete the next task. At no point in time during the remodel did Billy come out to the project to see the project or address concerns over the scope of work that was on contract. The electricians did not express concerns that their work was not per the contract. On the week of December 14, 2020, we received multiple phone calls from Tipping Hat's dispatch saying they needed to schedule an inspection to close out the contract (the work had been completed September 29, 2020).  After 4 voicemails for 4 days in a row, I questioned if we could defer this inspection to the new year to enable us to be quarantined for the appropriate time to see my wife's grandparents before Christmas. Tipping hat insisted that their employees were not going to be paid until this inspection be completed. I wanted to ensure those individuals had money for their families for Christmas, so we scheduled the inspection on December 22, 2020.
Billy Wright and the electricians showed up to our house to perform a walkthrough. Billy then came to my wife and told her that we owed Tipping Hat another $6,875 for out-of-scope work that was completed. Any sensible project manager (DIY or not) would understand that it is the responsibility of the subcontract program manager to enforce what work is in scope or not. It seems that Billy's insufficient communication and management of his team resulted in a project overrun that his management is seeking for him to remedy. TIPPING HAT CAME AFTER US TO FIX THEIR MISTAKE AND THEY WILL GO AFTER YOU.

Wonderful people to work with! Great service and communication. My water heater was making popping noises and we found out the hard water we have had ruined it. I was so happy to hear Kevin, my technician, was able to remove it and replace it right on the spot. I recently had someone come to my home to give me an estimate for repairing a main water shut off valve and they were also able to do the work the same day! Brian Colasuonno was very professional. He did try to upsell me on something unrelated to my job that I didn't think was necessary so I took off one star for that. It also took him almost 20 minutes to give me a written estimate so I took off another star for that. Another company that came out was able to give me a verbal estimate within 3 minutes of looking at the problem and emailed it to me as well. I think TH makes their service people fill out all sorts of info to give a very detailed and multi level estimate document. I can see where if I had a bigger project that would be helpful but in this case it wasn't needed.

I was a Federal Contracting Officer Rep, and had run my own Archaeological Contracting business, so I was fairly knowledgeable about the ins and outs of contracting, from both sides.  I called around a dozen companies to get quotes for my rather involved HVAC/Water Heater project Because I had had so many no- shows on prior projects.  I received all estimates but one, and with no charge.  I used a spreadsheet to compare equipment, warranties, and followup maintenance. I also took into consideration such things like availability, knowledge, and responsiveness while placing highest value on hard data.
Tipping Hat was not the cheapest, but they were the only company to offer a 10 year parts AND labor warranty on their products and services.  Add a prompt, upfront estimator in Adam, who was super responsive with adjusted estimates when I made changes to the original project, and the company having offerings and maintenance plans pricing on brochures, and I saw transparency as a company standard.  Huge Value Added.

Do some research online about the best hvac to buy and you'll find one caveat repeated:  it's not so much the brand of equipment but the installation quality and post sales support.

Adam came out to finish the contract with financing which I got on the spot, and we set up a two and a half day schedule for the installation.  The project took a crew of five 2 long days to complete and now I have a 98% efficient HVAC installed with a tankless water heater, whole house humidifier, air purifier, water ionizer, and my AC moved, with new exhaust installed that  brought the whole system up to code.
They left me a year's worth of furnace filters and I have two maintenance trips  that are included to switch the system out at season change.  My level of purchase does give me VIP acces, but since I'm a retired and disabled senior, that's not a luxury, but a wise investment in my house.

Tipping Hat has been treating me well, the system is working fine (so much quieter!), and I have no buyer's remorse.  TH is my go-to business for all things heating, cooling, plumbing, and electrical from here on out.

Talk to Adam and he will be straight with you.  The crew is mostly young but knowledgeable and without attitude; they like their job and it shows in how they respond to their customers.  They embrace the company culture of Service, which I find rare and spea to their craftsmanship.

Tipping Hat is a quality business, and if engaged with by customers in a clear and positive manner, I'm sure you will be pleased with them.
In my experience, they follow similar business practices that I utilized, and believe is one of the foundations of our country's strength. Values that make a difference in everyday life.
I highly recommend them.

I'm a retired, disabled veteran/civil servant living on a fixed income.  NOT a 1%er or trust baby or a competitor reviewer.   I came by my money the hard way, and I squeeze every nickel till the buffalo farts.  I spend on Quality, not quantity.   If this sounds like you, maybe you should try Tipping Hat.

Had furnace blower trouble. Spoke for about 30 minutes on the phone with a senior HVAC technician at Tipping Hat who gave me a laundry list of the possible problems, and what kind of work would need to be done to repair each of them. He recommended to have someone come look at the furnace (of course), and told me the technician would disassemble the furnace and test all components to do a diagnosis. I scheduled an inspection.

The technician arrived and I gave him a brief explanation of the problem. He did not look at the furnace, and told me I needed a new blower motor, and that it would cost $845 to replace. I asked if he was going to do an inspection, and he said he didn't have to, and left to pick up the replacement part. I could not say anything to get the tech to actually inspect the components.

I called the HQ and told them not to send him back. Even if the motor was the problem, I'd like some sort of proof, not just a tech who shows up and doesn't do anything.

My A/C unit stopped working during a heat wave in July. I contacted several hvac companies to compare pricing. Brian came out within 24 hours of me contacting the office. All of the units in my home were the original ones from when the house was built in the 70's. I was able to purchase a new A/C, furnace, air purifier/humidifier, water heater and whole house fan with installation by Tipping Hat without having to contact an electrician and have another bill for them to change the electricity for location of the outside condenser. I own a cleaning company and my clients are always needing professional assistance on home repairs and maintenance. I know that I will give them Tipping Hats main phone 720-799-8081 number first (Jamie is awesome!). Floyd, Dan, Alden, Austin, Juan, Noe, Rem were the team that completed my home in less than 24 hours! All of the technicians were professional on their service and were on time as well as tidy! Muris Bogilovic was our service pro. He did an excellent job listening to what our problem was, did a fantastic job being thorough in his evaluation of the problem including looking at multiple of our toilets as well as our main plumbing lines in order to diagnose the problem, told me what my options were along with pricing and his recommendation, and then was very quick with the actual service component. He was extremely professional, and I felt like my problem was being fully dealt with. I would definitely recommend Muris and will likely ask for him by name again if we have another plumbing issue.

Tipping Hat's customer service is lacking and chaotic, and I regret getting involved with them. We called them out to give us a quote on repairing and/or replacing a swamp cooler. Jay, one of their technician's came out, told us a replacement was necessary, but was unable to provide clear reasoning or explain the warranty options.

We decided to move forward with tipping hat because they promised the earliest install date. Unfortunately, this team cancelled on us four different times, with no explanation. We were given (after we asked/demanded) a discounted price given the hassle. The install team was very polite; however, I cannot say the same for the customer service or scheduling folks. I am glad the install is finished, but I will not use these guys in the future, and I do not recommend them for swamp cooler repair or replacement.

I had them come out and do a spring tune up on my old heat pump. The
heat pump is working just fine. I have had a bad experience in the past
with another heating company when they sent two technicians out. I
specifically told them I only wanted one technician. One technician did
show up at first but then a supervisor of the company came by and
started talking to my technician. I had to ask him twice to leave. This
company should have honored my request to have one person to the
work. This is a one person job. I did complain to the owner and he
apologized but I still don't think they were above board with my by
sending two people out against my wishes. Don't use this company!

These guys were great to work with.  I felt confident that they did everything they could to keep the cost down, they called when they said they would, they arrived when they said they would and when an issue came up they came back right away and fixed it.  I worked with several different guys with this job and all of them were super nice and seemed like they were happy in their jobs.  I feel great service seems harder and harder to come by so I am so appreciative when I find it.  Definitely recommend.

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY.  I called them about 2 problems.  The first was a blocked dishwasher drain.  The technician showed up without a snake even though I told them on the phone it was a plugged drain line.  He told me he could not do anything about it.  The second problem was both of our bath tub valves were dripping.  They just needed new seal rings installed which the technician  should have had on the truck.  He quoted me a price of $700 to $850 for stopping the dripping faucets.  When I declined he made me pay their $48 estimate fee.  All of the repairs ended up costing $50 for both faucets and the dishwasher drain to be repaired by a handyman.  They do not return my calls even after a manager agreed to return my money but did not do so.

So far, will update as service is done.  Poor Michael.  He came out once to our house & told us what was wrong with our MAREY tankless hot water heater.  DO NOT BUY one of these for a home in altitude - they don't work.  Then I forgot who I called, they forgot I called when he came out the 1st time.  They didn't charge me then because there was nothing he could do.    Second time, he & I talked and it was decided - hoohum - that I needed a better hot water heater that would work in Colorado.  More money but I prefer hot/cold water when I need it not when the tank decides to kick on.

Small leak.  Not a panic, but some urgency.  I called and Tipping Hat got here in about 30-40 minutes.  When was the last time you had a service professional show up right away? Andrei was professional, cordial, and a no-nonsense get-to-work guy.  He saw the problem and had it fixed in about 30 minutes or so - which included installing a new copper pipe.  I was so impressed I asked him to look at a couple of other things, which he did.

He was fast.  Cordial.  Professional.  Thorough.  Didn't make me feel he was rushing me to get to his next job.  Was it cheap?  What's a day and a half of mopping up a leaking pipe, your time waiting, drywall repair (which I would have had to do, had I waited for the other companies), and the general hassle cost?  You can always get cheap work...and I've never been happy with the outcome.  TH was a great value and I put their name in my contacts list - they're my new plumbing, heating company.

Our furnace is 20 years old this month. We have had several different HVAC people look at it and repair it over those 20 years but the best of breed was Sean Farris from Tipping Hat. Very knowledgeable, quick and did a good job explaining what was wrong and what he did to repair.  I'll certainly call them in the future. Different than the last vendor he also evaluated the condition of the furnace, he said for it's age it appeared to be in pretty good shape. and didn't immediately try and sell us a new one.

I contacted Tippng Hat Plumbing to have my furnace cleaned and renewed as they put it in order for it to be more efficient and to remove old rust which is what they advertised and stated they could do over the phone.  When Chad arrived, he told me the furnace, although working without any problems and having it serviced yearly since I owned it, stated it was in such bad shape he could not refurbish it.  Not only could he not fix my furnace, he stated my entire AC unit would also need to be replaced.  I had also scheduled him to fix my bathtub faucet and outside hose bib faucet also--neither of which he could fix either--my bathroom tub faucet he left in worse shape than he found it--leaking!  Kevin came out and gave me a quote to replace my Furnace & AC at a price almost 2 times as high as a well established competitor and when I told him that, he rudely commented that well the competitor either stole the equipment or it must of fallen off a truck!  I will never use Tipping Hat for any type of service and will make sure I never recommend them to anyone if this is the way they do business--I feel they are rude and shady at best!  Stay away from them and do your homework before ever consider letting them into your home!

Tipping hat was punctual and clean. The technician was very clear on what would be done and communicated what was needed and the job was completed quickly. My only qualm was regarding the camera through the line. I was told the service is supposed to include running a camera through the line and I was advised it was not needed during the service. When I requested a couple of days later I was advised they would return for an additional charge Much larger than the original cost. I really liked the service and professionalism up to having the camera run completed. If it is part of the cost to have the service completed it should have been done regardless.

I wish I could give them 6 Stars.

Had a new HVAC system installed December, 2019.  They initiated the first call sometime in March or April to get my AC up and running.  They were great.

Today, I had my entire HVAC tuned up and cleaned.  Isaac Wakeham was INCRECIBLE.  Not only was he professional, polite, and just a nice guy, he was willing to educate me and he was very patient.    When I was confused on something, he called me to see if he could walk me through it.  If I didn't understand, he offered to come right away and take care of the issue.  He did such a great job walking me through it, he didn't need to come out.  GOOD JOB!

BEWARE!!!  We moved into an older home in Lakewood and had sewage come up in the basement - just a little, but sent me into a panic.  I called Tipping Hat and Liberty (who is a supervisor) came out.  After some scoping, and pipe location in the yard, he gave me the devastating news we have damaged pipe under the porch and possibly further into the street.  He showed me no evidence or options to further investigate.  He quoted me a starting cost of $14,000 and said it could reach $24,000+ depending on what they find.  He went over financing options with me, gave me a day they could start and instructed me not to use washing machine, dishwasher, etc.    I made a call to a clean out company, so I could then schedule a camera scope to see what we were dealing with.  Our Drain & Sewer came out to jet clean and the result.......?  The result was that the cleaning company has their own camera and after the clean out, ran the camera all the way to the city sewer line - no pipe collapse!!!!!  We just needed roots and gunk from former home owners flushed out professionally.  We spent $475 instead of $14,000, and got to watch the live camera feed.

Josh Wyatt, a plumber working at Tipping Hat, serviced my water heater today. He was great! Called to ask if he could come early; cordial and efficient; answered all my questions. While the water was draining from my heater, we had a few minutes during which he offered to answer any questions I might have regarding my house's plumbing and/or electrical functioning. tipping hat installed my furnace 2 years ago. it went out on a  Friday night. Looked at website to see when they were available-said they had Saturday hours- which I did not expect- but I left a voicemail on Saturday and no one returned my call- so I booked an appointment on the online reservation system for Monday. They called Monday morning to tell me they could fit me in 1-2 weeks out. Apparently the reservation system doesn't work. They were in no hurry to fix my furnace they installed that kept going out and needing to be reset at least every 12 -24 hours. They didn't see a problem as it could be reset. Needless  to say I was exceptionally disappointed. I would not recommend them unless you want poor service and a company that doesn't stand behind its work.

While the plumbers arrived on time and were pleasant they immediately jumped from using a mechanized snake ( which they did not even try) to I needed a jet flush and access panel cut into my downstairs wall. The quote they gave me was over 800.00 and seemed a bit much. The plumbing service that came later charged me 395.00 and did not need to cut a hole in my wall.  They did a snake first and while we did need the flush  it was obvious they were not trying to bankrupt me. I willl not be calling Tipping Hat again

We hired Tipping Hat to remove a clogged kitchen drain.  Keith came out to review and suggested hydro-jetting the pipes.  Expensive, but we needed it cleaned.  Chad came the next day and attempted hydro-jetting but the clog was apparently bad enough that he was not successful.  I paid for the hydro-jetting with the assurance that if they came to replace the pipe where the clog was then I would get that credit on the bill.

This is where things got a little sticky.  Tipping Hat uses a price book for pricing for various tasks--fair enough.  However, this book doesn't take into account other factors, like if my pipe that needs replacing is completely exposed in an unfinished basement versus in a spot where drywall would have to be torn out, tight squeezes to get new pipes in, etc.  Since we have a small child, I didn't take the time to get this type of work quoted around and instead just had them do it (I think some of you will relate to this!).

Anyways, the plumber showed up the next day and I worked side-by-side with him (using my ladder, some of my tools, rags, etc.) to take out the clogged pipe, clean up messes, haul out the old pipes, install new pipe, etc.  After completion of the work, I was told that I would need to pay the full amount of the replacement even though the work only took 2 hours, I helped out, and it was maybe $150 in parts.  I was shocked, but what was I to do?  I called the owner the next day and after 15 minutes of going back and forth he agreed to a very small refund.  Something was better than nothing.

Bottom line: Tipping Hat seems to operate like a used car dealership.  Expect friendly service, you will probably get the service that you need, but make sure you call around to ensure the prices are reasonable and that the work that's getting done matches what the price book says.

After having to delay this for a week, Kevin was supposed to come back today.  He said he was at my house for 25 minutes, and left a card on the door when no one answered.  Problem is that I was home the whole time AND there was no card left on my door.  No one knocked, my dogs didn't bark or respond as if someone was here and  When I called, I asked, If he was here for 25 minutes, why did no one call me, and where is the card he said he left?.  No response, nothing to say about that.
He was supposed to be here 10-12, yet when I called at 12 to find out where he was, I was told they will send him back my way.
After a half hour I called back and found out that NO ONE was coming and no one was available.  I will NEVER use this company again.

Excellent experience! Kevin was available early (though I wasn't) and came within the expected timeframe. He identified the issue with my boiler quickly, fixed it quickly, and was able to demonstrate his success while explaining his resolution. Tipping Hat sent him because he has electrical experience, and I have a few projects that require professional wiring. He gave me quotes that I consider very reasonable for the work, and was able to schedule something for this upcoming Saturday.

Well for starters I've always seen one of your trucks in the nearby neighborhood so when I got a coupon just in time for my water heater to go down you guys are the first ones I called. Skipping right to the technician, he did amazing!!! First off his professionalism was top notch!! I swear as soon as the 1st guy that does the estimate pulled off mr. Roman Piele came around the corner like a super hero. All same day response as Excel had red tagged my water heater over a small gas leak on a part that they don't make anymore  so an entire replace was required, and let me tell you did he have his work cut out for him!! My gas lines went from 3/4 to 1/2 and back to 3/4 for no apparent reason at all. I had no handle for a shut off valve so a tool had to be fetched every time the gas had to be shut off to the unit. He even replaced some old furnace piping that was all over the board as well, which when he did that he so graciously took all the dirt and debree clogging my furnace out as well. He really just surprised me with how above and beyond he went for me... after one of the roughest weeks of 2020 he made it just a tiny bit better and for that I really do thank him and this company. I was able to take a steaming hot shower right after he left. Best one of my life!!!! He also went the extra step to make sure things were installed to prevent pressure in our pipes. Our house and most plumbing is from the 60s we need all the TLC we can get. Long story short, im calling yall again for my furnace and AC replacement here in a few months! I'm not sure if I can request Roman when I do but I'm going to sure try! Seriously.. a very pleasurable experience given the circumstances

Craziness!  1 star because I stayed home on 2 separate days so they could come out and they repeatedly cancelled.
The first day, they said someone would be out in a 2 hour window.  Before that time window started, they called and said that the person could come out at 7 that night (later than what I was told) or we could reschedule for another day.  Didn't want to further mess up my day/evening, so I rescheduled for another day.
On the next scheduled day, my time window came and went.  I called and was told Oh, I had you scheduled for a later window tonight, which seemed dishonest because I was positive that I had written down the right time.  I grudgingly said I could wait around for another 1-3 hours.  But then I got a call back saying the plumber wouldn't be able to come out all day that day!
They asked if I wanted to reschedule for next week.  I said that this is insane, they've already cancelled on me 2 1/2 times.  And I wouldn't reschedule unless they could give me a major discount.
The lady on phone said the only discount they could give me was $29, on a $300 service.  And went on to explain that their company was small and they had unexpected emergencies come up with their employees this week.
If that's truly the case; they shouldn't have overcommitted/overscheduled, they should have been upfront right away, they should not have continued to overcommit and over schedule further, and they should have offered more than a measly $29 discount for 2 afternoons of my inconvenience!
And I should have gotten an actual apology.  I may have gotten a quick in-passing apology in the tone of I can't help it.  But no directly expressed or sincerely expressed apology, that empathized me being significantly inconvenienced by this company on 2 different days.

My outdoor AC unit stopped working a couple weeks ago, and I had just moved into my own place in Lakewood so I decided to try a local company to help me with my problem. I'm 23 and know next to nothing about anything HVAC related. He told me that my A/C unit was totally broken down, and I would need to replace it along with my furnace and thermostat, a fix that would cost over $7,000. I decided to get a second opinion and used my dad's out of area HVAC guy that he has used for years. With the switching of a filter, some tinkering with my outdoor unit, and a flip of a switch my dads HVAC guy had my entire system up and running at 100%. Which brings me back to the switch. When ADRIAN SARAJLIJA, the employee from Tipping Hat, came to look at my problems he had actually MANUALLY SWITCHED OFF MY ENTIRE UNIT FROM OUTSIDE (my furnace was operational before his visit.) I have never felt so swindled and taken advantage of. This man, ADRIAN SARAJLIJA, manually shut off my system to get me to pay over $7,000 for a completely new system. So, obviously, DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Worst experience ever! If you think of doing business with them beat yourself over the head with a cast iron skillet. It feels better than the headache they will leave you with. What started as a simple project of installing an outlet has been multiple electricians, phone calls, shorts, potential fire hazards and significant damage to my home. I was left with 3 holes in my walls for one outlet. Doors taken off the hinges and left with a warped track and chewed up doors from them trying to rehang them. I was told to rehang them by myself by the first electrician and their dispatch who gave it a shot in lieu of a professional fixing what needed to be fixed told me I could do it myself and he could retire if I wanted. That is not how you speak to customers! Asking for things to be left how you found them is asking too much with this company. I am waiting for the owner to call me because this is not good business and I am getting no where with their manager.

Initially, I was pleased when I called and was told someone would be sent out the same day between 4 and 6 and that I would be sent an email ahead of time with who is coming out. It was 4:30pm and I had not heard from the company at all. I called them and left a voicemail to see if someone was still coming. They returned my call and Chad showed up at 5pm.

Chad was really nice and friendly. However, he could not diagnose the issue nor re-perform the problem we were experiencing. He snaked our pipes and then said he would send someone out with a camera to stick it in the pipes to see if they could figure out the issue. I paid him for snaking the line and then he left.

I was told the camera guy, Kieth, would come Saturday at 9am. On Friday night, we had an emergency and didn't get to bed until 4am and knew we had to get up by 8:55am for Kieth to come. The company woke me up at 8:00am and told me Kieth would be there in 15 minutes and then he arrived at 8:15am. Not only did I not appreciate them being 45 minutes early but the appointment was completely pointless.

Kieth came into the house and said I have no idea what's going on here. Can you tell me what the issue is? I see someone came last week but he didn't leave me any notes with what he did. What did he do when he was here? So we explained to him what Chad did (we did not appreciate that this guy had no idea what was going on before coming) and told him that Chad said a camera down the pipes was the next step. Kieth said I don't know why Chad would tell you that- you have 1.5 inch pipes and my camera only fits in a minimum of 2 inch pipes. Sorry there's nothing I can do. Don't worry, there's no charge for today. NO SH*T there's no charge today! Are you freaking kidding me?!

1) Your company was late on informing me when someone would come for the first appointment
2) Your men could not diagnose our problem
3) Chad did not inform the second guy of what Chad did and what Kieth was supposed to do
4) Kieth came 45 minutes earlier than scheduled (causing us to lose sleep)
5) Kieth coming to our house was completely pointless and a waste of everyone's time since his camera didn't fit down our pipes- and he said Chad should have known that
6) We are still stuck with a garbage disposal that spurts water out through a different pipe but with a lighter wallet

Overall, I am very dissatisfied with everything that happened.

Update: I called the company to complain. The lady on the phone asked if I still wanted the electrician to come over. I said what? I never asked for an electrician and she said That's odd, Chad set up an appt for an electrician to come to your house. and then later in the phone call, I told her I didn't want any more services from them and she said So you don't want the electrician then? And I said I told you, I don't have any electrical problems. I never asked for an electrician! .... like wtf?

Also, I hired another plumber after this incident since they didn't fix the problem. Turns out Tipping hat is a rip off! They only charge $86 to snake a line which is cheaper than other plumbers but after not having my problem fixed and hearing about everything else Tipping hat was wrong with, don't fall for it! In addition to the above, Chad told me it might come to a point where I'd have to change all of the cast iron pipes in the basement for maybe $3k. The second plumber told me if it came to that, you don't have to replace ALL of it- only the part that has corroded, if any. I had a leak in the shower head and Chad told me the whole shower faucet had to be replaced eventually and that he charged $224. The second plumber told me I needed $1 of teflon tape around the shower head. Lastly, Kieth offered us Bio Clean for $148. The second plumber offered it for $50!!!!

DO NOT HIRE TIPPING HAT!!!

Answered all of my questions and made recommendations at no cost. I had scheduled a furnace tune-up, but when Sean F. came to do the service he pointed out that it was a rare type of set-up (a condo with a central boiler system and heat pump). Given the placement of the heat pump, he was unable to do a tune-up but gave me recommendations of things I could do to increase the heat in my unit, other companies that would assist with vent cleaning for my particular situation, and also walked me through the process of what it would cost to replace my heat pump when the time comes. He was very thorough and didn't mind listening to my uneducated questions - all at no charge. There was also no pressure to replace my unit - he recommended keeping it until it completely dies. I would absolutely go back to Tipping Hat when it comes time for a replacement.

We have used Tipping Hat for two major projects - boiler replacement and air conditioning installation (to replace our old evaporative cooling system). Every day they come out to our home we get an email with the names and pictures of each person who will be on site that day. Everyone is friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable. Billy has managed both of our projects and is a great communicator and always makes sure that the job is done to perfection. We couldn't be happier with the results. They stand by their work, and they keep their work areas spotless. I really couldn't be happier, and I would use them again in a heartbeat.

We had these clowns come out and quote us a new water heater. They wanted $4,000. I asked for the quote to be emailed to me. The guy left and never followed through. I found MileHi Hvac online and they gave me a quote with a few pictures and came out the very next day and installed the upgraded model of what Tipping Hat quoted for $1,950 after tax and install. If you're considering these clowns get a quote anywhere else before you get absolutely ripped off. The guy that came to quote me was rude, ignorant and impatient.

Justin stopped by to take care of a few electrical issues with my house.   Was prompt, professional, and very courteous.

Thought I got a heck of a deal for a 2 hour licensed electrician's visit.  Price was reasonable too.

I would strongly recommend the Tipping Hat for your electrical, heating, and or any plumbing issues.

Tipping Hat has been an absolute nightmare to deal with for the past 3 weeks. Heater has been out and they just keep coming by to tinker with things to get it to work for it to just stop working again after an hour. I'm getting really tired of waking up to a house being 38 degrees every morning. After 4 visits and an excessive amount of back and forth with my landlord while they are refusing to call me back or inform me of anything going on, which is important since I'm the one who lives there and I'm the one who needs for everything to be scheduled with, it's finally decided that they need to replace the entire furnace on Friday December 23rd. I'm told that the place they get their parts from is closed on Monday December 26th so they will be able to come install it on Tuesday December 27th. So I arrange for someone to be able to be there for this work since I've already missed multiple days of work so they can come by and never fix it. I call on Monday to confirm they will be there on Tuesday and am told that they can't and they will be there on Wednesday. It was never discussed with me that Wednesday was their plan, so had I not called no one would have shown up on Tuesday when someone was there, like I had originally been told they would be. They refuse to communicate and they're incapable of doing the job they were hired for. 3 weeks and still nothing but freezing cold nights and mornings every single day while they've been blowing me off. Absolutely pathetic and a nightmare to deal with.

This company booked an appointment for me for two weeks after my request. I patiently waited.
The day arrived and 5 minutes before the arrival time they called to say they were overbooked and wouldn't be able to rebook until the following week.

This was the worst service. After waiting2 weeks they weren't accommodating at all. I would never use this company again!

Totally irresponsible!!

Christopher Hargett, from Tipping Hat, installed a washing machine valve box in our home.  He was very prompt, courteous, professional, and he wore a mask the entire time.

Christopher clearly presented two options for the project, and he did not try to upsell.  We chose the more robust option, and he did a fantastic job.

After the job completed, he thoroughly cleaned up afterwards.

He also gave us a senior discount.

We would recommend Tipping Hat and Christopher in particular.

I have to warn you if you are looking for service that is 6-7 times higher than the competitor's price is and lack of professionalism and customer service.  You found your company.  I must say I usually do not leave bad reviews but I believe it is my moral duty to inform other people to not fall into the same trap.  Their mission statement does not mean anything.  I must say who you should watch out for is the managers.  They come make promises then they either by wording in the contract or purposely missing it in the contract manipulate the project and the job to charge you even more later.  Then they give another over priced estimate.  I gave my electric and plumbing job to this company for adding a bathroom, laundry room,a kitchenette and pulling a line for electric car charger from the garage to the braker box.  I had to fight with the electric manager for over 3 months.  My laundry room had no vent or 220 in it for a dryer.  They have charged me at list 6 to 7 time higher than other contractors and have performed terribly.  The two managers who I worked with Liberty and Justin, specially Justin are very dishonest, unethical and certainly not professional.  I highly suggest not to hire this company.

I had used this company several times in the past and had very good service.  However, I moved to a new place and was told I needed to replace my heater and air conditioner.  I knew the furnace was old but the air conditioner wasn't that old.  They told me, I would have to replace the air also, as mine wouldn't hook up to the new furnace.  These were installed in Feb of 2023, the heater works fine.  However, when I needed the air, it wasn't cooling.  To make a long story short, for over 2 months now, I have been without air, found out the unit wasn't installed correctly, have had a least 5 service men out to fix, replaced parts, and still no cooling.  My house is showing over 82 degrees inside and it isn't even really hot outside yet!  I have left calls for owners and managers to call me, and to date have not had one return call.  I think they should replace the whole unit as this one is a lemon.  This has cost me $15,000 for the heater and air units, many hours missed from work waiting for service people to arrive and still no air.
I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy.

Received a coupon in the mail for a 19.00 AC tune up. When I called to schedule it, I told them my unit was only about 3 years old. Right away they told me that they had no spots available for the entire season. Really?? I can only guess that's because they don't want to see or tune up newer models because there won't be much of a chance of anything being wrong with them. How disappointing. I will not use them ever for anything. There's too much competition for my business.

We are first-time homeowners and got the news that our furnace of 21 years was on its way out. We came across Tipping Hat by chance and we are so pleased with the quality and level of professionalism we received. From start to finish they were very punctual. Austin H. arrived right on time and got down to business. He gave us the entire run down on our old furnace and was very detailed with his inspection. He took the time to show us pictures of the inside of our furnace and explained exactly what was wrong and what we needed to do to fix it. In the end, it made the most sense for us to purchase a new system.

Austin's supervisor, Michael L., was able to come out same day and quote pricing for us and even made a second trip out to get some additional quotes after we wanted to pursue a system that worked with solar panels. He understood that we needed some time to think about this large financial decision and wasn't pushy to make a sale. He was helpful and provided perspective on the industry and the products that were being offered.

After booking an installation appointment, the big day arrived and a crew of friendly people showed up to start work inside our home. They laid down really nice work mats on the floor to limit the amount of dirt coming up out of our crawl space and wore booties inside our home. It was a really clean and organized installation. The entire process from start to finish was about 8 hours and impressively well thought out. Sean B., James P. and Adam worked seamlessly together to install the new furnace, heat pump, and thermostat. They removed all the old parts as well, so there is nothing left, but shiny new niceness.

Thank you, Tipping Hat Team, we really appreciate you and look forward to working again with you in the future!

This is a Father/Daughter tag team effort to support a small business and use their services for a waterline issue in Larkspur, CO.

Father calls to schedule appointment.  Explains the situation and gives address of the house in Larkspur.  Appointment day comes and company calls to cancel appointment 30 minutes before scheduled time.

Okay, no problem.  Let's get this rescheduled.

Daughter calls to schedule. Spoke with Ken.  He found the account, together we reviewed this issue and scheduled an appointment time for a Friday afternoon and arrival time between 2 and 4 p.m. Day of appointment I realize that a confirmation call has not been made.  I call to confirm appointment and speak with Amanda.  She claims that our appointment was overlooked.  States that the company does not have anyone available to come service our problem.  Researches further and says that the address in Larkspur is outside of their service area and will not be able to help us.  I asked that Amanda research what happened and give a follow up call.  No call was made.

This story could have been avoided if it was communicated on the 1st phone call that the address in Larkspur was outside of their service area.

Lack of communication and does not take responsibility for errors made.

Five-star experience with Tipping Hat and service specialist Chad. Hottest week of the year and AC goes out. First company I called was two weeks before next available appointment. Tipping Hat got me in the next day. They called me twice during the day to tell me exactly when Chad would arrive. We were the last appointment of a 12 hour day and Chad arrived polite, courteous and generally excited about his job, the company and his ability to help us out. He found the problem in less than a minute and had a spare part in the truck. Job done. He insisted on wearing shoe covers even when we told him it was unnecessary, he pointed out a coupon we could use when we're ready to replace water heater, and the price was very reasonable. I will be using them again.

So, I live in Boulder and am trying to get a house ready to sell in Denver. I scheduled the electrician through Tipping Hat for a 10am appt, and take a day off work to be there since they do not work weekends. At 10:25 on the day scheduled I get a call that the electrician's other job will take all day and they need to reschedule me. Now I have lost a day of work, don't have the work done, and don't trust that they will even show up when scheduled. I highly suggest you find someone more reliable.

For me, Personally, this has been one of the worst experiences with a service company, ever.  Because I allowed this assault not only on my  wallet, but my psyche as well.  By not getting more quotes, and written quotes, I have had restless nights and down days since, trying to figure out why I didn't stand up for myself.  You should seriously avoid Tipping Hat for your project, or at least get several quotes and opinions, as there are several honest, qualified companies out there, I've since learned.
I had an exterior faucet head that apparently froze over winter.  To reach it they would have to cut about a 1 ft. square hole in the basement ceiling just below where the faucet entered the house, and cut the copper pipe to remove old one, then solder in the new faucet head. (this was in the 6-8 space between the first level floor and the basement ceiling).  I heard the man say $400 for the work.  Two guys came to do the work, one held the vacuum while the other cut the drywall, and he was there to help align the pipe when the other was outside inserting the new one.  They were done in an hour and twenty mins.  When they told me it was $1400 I called the guy who gave the quote, he said he had said $1400, I must have heard wrong. He said the guys have to be paid before they can leave, I'm old and didn't want the confrontation.  When I questioned the obscene cost, he said it was based on industry standard for that job not time spent there.   I did get a couple quotes after the fact and got a $200-$350 from the two other companies. They are clearly taking advantage of the unsuspecting and elderly.

The sales person misrepresented the product they sold us and I have been trying to come to a resolution for 6 months now with no end in sight. I added the estimate they send me to replace a outside Bibb. A real steal I had it done for $225. If you google it it says average cost is $350. Please do your research before hiring these crooks. The estimate that I am having hard time to post was $1,376. I posted but it went to the 1st review I did and I had a good experience at the time. This time it was different

I hired Tipping hat to perform a clean out of a furnace system on a home that I had purchased. I knew that the furnace and water heating system were old. I also don't have AC in the house and was wanting to get quotes on the water heater, AC install, and furnace.

They did perform the job that I asked, which was a full cleaning of the furnace system. Two techs came out. One was Mitchell. Mitchell was really nice and personable and I liked him quite a bit. I can't recall the name of the other tech. He was nice as well, but was definitely more of the sales guy of the crew.  They told me that the furnace was old and in need or replacement (will likely go out within a year). They also told me the water heater also needed to be replaced. That it would fail sooner than later. During the clean out of the furnace system, they did show me components of the system and told me what was failing or aging, However, it was hard to tell if what I was seeing was truly signs of wear or not. I don't know this field and so I had to take them for what they told me.

What I thought was strange or questionable, was their estimate was not broken down. I could not tell by line item, what they were charging for parts, labor, materials, etc. They just had different packages and what the total cost was, and what the packages included. Although its nice to see that information, it seems a company is trying to hide the markup or what they are making on these system replacements if they wont break it down. As a consumer they should be providing this information.

Because of this, I am having the water heater installed by another vendor. I will deal with the furnace if/when it gives out.

Like I said, Mitchell was awesome. The other tech was nice as well, and they did what I asked them to do. Just don't like the company for trying to conceal the true costs of their work by not providing a line item breakdown of charges.

To preface: Everyone in their office is very professional and personable.
Our furnace stopped working a week ago at the worst time (not that there is any good time really) but I did what most people do and called the company that repaired it before, my mistake.  This time Chad McCandless came to my door from Tipping Hat with a smile and confidence that I don't often see.  Still, because of the previous tech from the other company, I was a little skeptical.  It didn't take him long at all to determine the issue and I watched in excitement as the furnace kicked on and started to heat the house back up from a chilly 56 degrees (it's been freezing all week and we were using the fireplace to heat the house and lots of blankets). Chad told me that the other tech had the wiring backwards and the control board ($850 for a new one through the other company after I was told that ours was bad) was in perfect working order.  The issue ended up being a couple of loose wires not in the furnace itself which Chad fixed.  My wife and I are happy that we found Tipping Hat.  My hats off to you Mr. Chad McCandless, job well done.

On-site quote and estimate for electrical work performed in February, the price quoted was $2,225. They came out again a few days before the work was to start and requoted the job with a discount, new price $2,100. Three days before the job was scheduled to start they called and said both of their electricians quoted the job wrong and the price was now $3,800. This is completely unethical. The company is basically stating that two of its senior electricians are incapable of working up an accurate onsite quote. I think they were hoping I would just agree because I wanted the work done. I did not agree with their price gouging and unethical business practices. I highly recommend not using this company under any circumstances.

Ron from Tipping Hat might be the best service pro I've ever had in my home. Ron took the time to explain what he was doing, what he hoped the outcome would be and kept my optimism high and expectations reasonable. I have a curious nature and Ron taught me a lot about cleaning drains and my system specifically. Ultimately my clog required additional plumbing services so Ron did not charge me for this initial assessment. I'm so impressed with Tipping Hat and will be using them for my continued plumbing needs. Highly recommend.
