We had a major electrical emergency recently and Victor was the only electrician from a bunch of other electricians whom we contacted and who responded promptly as well as showed up to help us!
Victor was very professional in his work and he knew the science behind what he was doing. His experience & knowledge were striking. He knows his jobs well and executes it meticulously. Very thorough!
He was very accommodating and honest in his dealings and did an excellent job on the task at hand. We have a few more major electrical tasks aligned for him in the coming months . We highly recommend Victor for all your electrical jobs.

Absolutely not organized. His quote on when I asked him what hap to the project quote I receive 100s of calls a week so I don't remember!!
Incompetent. He doesn't understand code and regulations although he consistently quotes stuff like he does! So beware. Get a good electrician to double check the stuff he tells you.
Third, he spends time interrogating you like you're the one interviewing for a job!

If you want someone friendly, helpful to actually help you complete a project steer clear. Don't waste your time here

Update: after I received the response, I'd like to clear the record just cos I can't leave incorrect stuff on here.
1. It was not a month between calls. It was 8 days. I have call logs I checked for this. And we discussed having him come out to visit the property to quote
2. My ask was REALLY simple. Have someone come out and QUOTE a job to upgrade my panel. I now have 4 bids and have hired an electrician- it's not rocket science. No need to waste time with interrogations on permits etc. The electrician I hired was nice enough to work with PG&E (picking up from me) to go through with the planning and design for the upgrade. That's part of the job you get paid for, honestly
3. My question to him on meter panel model details was to a question he had on what does PG&E want to know to issue the ok!

Victors helped me already a few times, I'm a bit late with my review but I trust  him and his team, after seeing their work, they know what they are doing and how to help you.

I had a chandelier and neon light put up by him. I saw him and his team member measure everything and they asked my preference and helped me be able to see  the different height options.

He's also replaced a single outlet with a double, as well as discovered that my whole garage was wired incorrectly in a way that if one outlet tripped, it would cause everything in my garage to trip, and helped with fixing that.

Originally I wanted to get outdoor lights installed but he said I should check with HOA for their rules on that. So he is knowledgeable and experienced with regulations for lighting which is what you want with someone doing electrical work in your living space.

He is also a good communicator and texts well.

My old kitchen fluorescent lights stopped working on a Friday night. I called Victor Saturday morning and he came immediately to fix the problem. And replace the 40 year old ballasts and provide new bulbs. Prompt, high quality work so I then asked him for estimates for some upgrade work(ceiling fan, replace fluorescent with LEDs, etc) and plan to go ahead with more work with Victor and his team. I highly recommend VC Electric.

Victor did a great job replacing a very high entry wall light fixture.  I underestimated the ceiling height, and they had to make a return trip to rent a 16 100+ pound ladder.
Arrived right on time at 7:30am and finished the job.

Victor and one of his technicians have been to our house twice now, once to help with a fuse issue in our breaker box and the other to wire and install ceiling fans. They have been very accommodating in their availability and do high quality work. I've since saved their number in my phone and will definitely continue to use them again in the future.

All the power went out in one of our bathrooms. I checked reviews on Yelp and found VC ELECTRIC. Victor, the owner came to our house the next day and went over all the outlets and switches and found the problem in the attic. He repaired the problem and even went back and replaced 2 receptacles and 2 light dimmers.
We were impressed with his methodical approach to solving the problem and his courtesy. The final bill was reasonable. We're happy with the results and are passing his cards to friends and neighbors.

Best experience hiring a skilled trades professional we've ever had. Victor, the owner, came to our house and replaced outlets, switches, and outside lighting. He was early (no waiting around for hours), worked quickly and efficiently, and on top of everything else was very nice. We highly recommend VC Electric!

I called Victor last night and he said he came out this morning; I appreciated the fast service.  I had a broken light switch and a broken plug.  He charged $180 to come out and $30 for a switch.  The work was completed in about 20 minutes for a total of $210.  He didn't have the correct light switch color but I had no choice once he arrived, unless I went to buy one and be charged while he waited for me.  As far as his customer service went, Victor was very grumpy, cold, inflexible, and almost rude.  

Will I use him again?  Not unless I was in an urgent situation again and can't find anyone else.

Victor came out to install a new outlet and later came back to help with any issues we had even if it was a simple reset of a breaker. He was very responsive and reliable. We will definitely use him whenever we need an electrician.

Needed to an electrician to fix an outlet at a rental place and VC answered straight away. I called maybe 10:30am and someone was there a little after 12pm. After discovering the problem - illegal wiring of an outlet, they were able to fix the problem efficiently and make it safe again! They called me back, I did payment through the phone and he sent me a receipt.

Loved the quick service, the flexibility so I didn't have to travel all the way to Pleasanton from Daly City and they were a pleasant company to do business with. I've saved their number for my next emergency or if I need other things done! Definitely recommend!

My first time hiring Victor's team to fix outdoor lights. Victor and his team are unbelievably professional, skilled and thoughtful! All lights are fixed now. This will be my only electrician company to go to from now.

We tripped the Ground Fault Interrupt (GFI) in an upstairs bathroom while using a hair dryer. But, unlike every other bathroom and kitchen, there was no GFI outlet with a reset button. None of the circuit breakers were tripped. We had no power in any socket in that bathroom. So, we called VC Electric because of so many good reviews.
Victor checked a few outlets and even found that sockets in the master bathroom had reversed polarity. Of course, that had nothing to do with our GFI problem. Then, he asked when our house was built. I said 1996, and he went down to the garage and found a tripped GFI socket. How would he know that a GFI in the garage would be tied in with a bathroom on the second floor? Because he knows how houses have been wired since the 80s. The practices have changed over the years. Knowing our house was built in 1996, he knew exactly where to find the problem. This problem that was intractable to us was simple for him. It was resolved in less than 15 minutes.

Had some minor electrical issues.  He actually showed up ahead of appointment which is even better.   Fixed my problems and even helped me install a cooktop at a reasonable rate.  Saved me a  lot of time.

Victor and his crew did an amazing job. They were fast, efficient and super friendly. I had several electrical issues with my Sun Room and Victor identified them all and most importantly implemented the fix with HIGH standards, ensuring it was safe and aligned with proper electrical protocols at a price MUCH lower than his competitors. I would highly recommend for any electrical projects/tasks!!!

If I could give this company ZERO stars I would do so!  Victor came to our home because we had an outlet that was not operating.  My husband tripped the GFCI switch in our half bathroom unknowingly.  Upon entering our home, I immediately sensed Victor's piss poor attitude and demeanor.  He goes to the half bathroom where the outlet was not operating and used a similar tool that my husband used when he tripped the switch.  Victor was resistant to letting my husband see the tool he utilized...yes, he has one of those little person complexes, apparently.  After reviewing the fuse box in the garage, he goes upstairs to the bathrooms and presses the switch on the GFCI outlet in the guest bathroom which fixed the problem.  Bottom line, he barely did any work within a span of about 5-10 minutes and still had the nerve to charge us $170!  That is horrible customer service not to have the human decency to only charge maybe $50 - $60 for basically doing nothing!  We would never hire this company again.  My advice is to learn how to provide good customer service and get your attitude in check!!

I needed a nema 14-50 outlet installed to charge a new electric vehicle. Victor was able to provide a competitive priced estimate the same day I contacted him. My circuit box was full and had no free breakers. He explained exactly what he needed to do to add a 40-amp circuit breaker for the 14-50 outlet. We immediately scheduled a date & time for the installation. He arrived for the scheduled appointment five minutes early, installed the outlet just as he described, and I was able to charge my car using new outlet before he left. The outlet and area around it look like the work was done by professionals. I strongly recommend Victor and VC Electric.

Against my better judgement, I brushed off the one star reviews and decided to give VC Electric a try.

What a mistake! VC Electrics is like one of those companies you see in the news that try to charge you an arm and a leg for things you don't need and scare you into thinking those are things you do need.

We overloaded one of our circuits and were not able to switch the breaker back on. I called several electricians to see if they could come the same day since it was effecting our fridge outlet. The others I contacted were apologetically unavailable or tried there best to troubleshoot with us over the phone.  Victor lived close by and said he could squeeze us in while also reminding us of his $180 minimum without even taking a look at anything.

Victor comes out and then proceeds to tell us everything is wrong with our panel and that it will be $3000+ to fix. He offensively degraded the panel and how badly it is wired to the point he blames my husband for the mess of how our electric was done. We explain to him that we have only moved into this house barely 2 months ago yet he still continues on the same path of telling us we have a big mess.

My husband has some electrician experience and asks for some pointers on things he himself can do but Victor is clearly of no help unless he's getting paid and flat out says don't touch anything. We ended up not going with Victor yet still had to pay his $180 minimum for basically nothing except scaring us that out electricity was a mess.

By contrast, we contacted 2 other electricians who not only came out free of charge to do an estimate but also reassured us Victor DID NOT KNOW WHAT HE WAS TALKING ABOUT. The panel looked totally fine and they offered the simple fix of moving appliances around so that we didn't have all on just one circuit. While they did offer other upgrades that had some cost they were in no way pushy about it and made it clear that we did not have to worry about our panel at all. On top of that, these guys were actually helpful and thoroughly explained and educated us what we could and couldn't do.

Avoid this scheming, rude and money hungry business. Based on my research there are way better electrician options out there (see my reviews for Frontline and AMZ Electrical).

Victor was and will always be my go-to advisor for all things electrical. I'm new to the area and he treated me like we were long-time business partners. He educated me on my options when I wanted to put in an EV charger and also took the time to meticulously explain the how & why's behind each task. He even took the time to further assess additional items in my new house to call out potential hazards. He and his crew replaced my subpanel and also installed an EV charger in about 90 minutes. He accommodated my schedule even though his crew was already working a 10 hour day. Definitely will be using him in the future.

They put in two Nema 14-50 plugs for our Tesla's and they did a great job.  Good quality work and good customer service.

Something is really off with Victor.
Tuesday 10/10/2017, a row of outlets stopped working in my kitchen. I did not notice they were all wired into one GFCI on the side of the island and therefore called VC for help. Victor said he was in Berkeley and will stop by on his way back to the office in Dublin, around 3 pm (his words). He arrived at 4 pm, pushed the red reset button on the outlet with GFCI and charged me $185.  While I wrote the check, he began commenting that the house is really old (our house was built in 2000) and the outlets are outdated. He might have presented me with a similar upgrade offer but I was so shocked after writing him a $185 check that I just politely asked him to leave.

I would n ver recommend Victor to anyone; friend or foe for two reasons:
1. He did not demonstrate any skills which could allow me to term him as excellent electrician.
2.He did not demonstrate any skills which could allow me to term him as professionally sound and trustworthy.

Very very bad experience. Victor push hard for expensive and lengthy solution. I picked the economic solution and he obviously doesn't like. Worst of all, he dropped the service 3 hours latter than the appointed time he promised to show to sign contract. He treated customer with an attitude. Worst experience I ever have in yelp! Never recommend any of my acquaintance to use his service.

I should have red the reviews - my mistake. He charged me $160 for inspection which is far above and beyond what I have experienced in previous cases, where technicians either come for free inspection or charge something reasonable (never more than $100 at most) - I called Victor because my circuit breaker kept tripping and I thought something was wrong with my panel. It took him ~ 10 minutes to decide that my panel was perfectly fine and the problem was with my microwave. The remaining ~ 20 minutes he spent in my house was all unnecessary talking and going back and forth to his van.
I didn't argue with him on how much he wanted to charge me because it is my mistake that I didn't ask on how much he charges for inspection and that I wrongly assumed he would have proactively told me about such fees before coming if they were to be charged.
I don't know how good of an electrician he is but I will not hire him again because I don't trust he will fairly charge me.

Real nice work by Victor to get a Tesla HPWC installed directly into the panel. I had space for a 100a breaker so we were good to go. Install was quick, painless, and clean. His price was relatively competitive compared to others I had received.

Victor has done a lot of work on my house including changing breakers, installations etc....

Victor was so easy to work with! We was very responsive by phone and e-mail. He was able to come the day after I contacted him and gave a quote just hours later.

I also overlooked the bad reviews and reached out to Victor. I paid him to see why my daughter's room kept tripping the breaker. He said it may have been the portable heater. After he left, I later found out from my daughter that she didn't have anything else plugged in the outlets. Called Victor and he said he would have to charge me again even thought he misdiagnosed the problem the first time. Anyway, 'm looking for a new electrician if anyone has a recommendation. Preferably someone who can guarantee their work.

I was looking for a local electrician to install a modern plug receptacle for a new electric  dryer. Victor Chavez (owner) came out and did the install himself. He was on time, courteous and very professional. In addition, he's very knowledgeable, easy to talk to and will answer any of your questions.

After the receptacle was installed, tested, and made sure the dryer was working properly, he performed a task he didn't have to do but felt it was necessary for peace of mind of the customer. He took the time to properly secure the dryer vent ducting between the dryer appliance and the wall vent. Also, he noticed my doorbell wasn't working and offered to diagnose the problem and found the transformer had died. He not only replaced the transformer but he also installed a new doorbell too.

Victor did a wonderful job and I highly recommend you use VC Electric for your electrical needs.

He throughly went through steps to identify possible issues and was able to locate a wiring issue that was the root cause. He not only fixed it but also explained why the issue occurred and how the wiring was done incorrectly by the builder. Highly recommended. I tried all the basic solutions myself but no way I would have figured out wiring done wrong.

I saw VC electric in the ad and had an issue with a power surge because of PG&E.  I was very concerned with safety.  Victor responded very quickly and checked things out with a negative ground checker.  He did not have to do any actual wiring or anything.  I appreciate response.  He showed up at noon and was out by 1 pm.  I was a little shocked by his bill for $240.00 which he said was his minimum charge.  I was expecting a charge of about half that.  So I would suggest everyone ask about minimum charges before you hire an electrician.

Called Victor in the morning today and he was over in the afternoon; finished the work and they were done in 2 hours straight. Great value for the money and good workmanship. Gave good advice at every step and was very accommodating of my requests.

I needed my car's charging station to be installed in the garage and he had advised me earlier on how to go about getting the permits, etc. When I'd finished all the preparatory work, getting permits and buying the charging station, Victor and his crew showed up promptly on time. Very professional, they went right to work, finished cutting through the wall where needed and wired up the outlets exactly where I wanted them.

Victor answered his call immediately, was available, and came right on time as scheduled. I was most impressed with how he gave me alternatives to saving money and energy, and explained everything so clearly that I could follow as a layman. He and Benjamin finished more than six projects I gave them quickly and efficiently in just half a day. After my remodeler dragged on for 10 weeks and still did not finish, this is a breath of fresh air.

Victor was a huge help and very professional from start to finish.  He went out of his way to make sure my family and I got electricity up and running as quickly as possible.  I would highly recommend and use him again anytime in the future if needed.

Recently I decided to tackle the annoying issue of having my faulty electrical outlets in my house fixed.  Some didn't work, others would always trip the breaker.  I was not looking forward to it.  Needless to say I've been putting it off due to not wanting to take the time, worried about the expense blah blah blah.  Since I need to do other work at the house I figured it was time to figure this out.  Went to Yelp and started going down the line of businesses in my area.  Left my number with several.  Most never got back to me, the few that did are not available anytime soon (think September!!) or wanted to schedule an appointment for 2-3 weeks later just to come out and look at the problems THEN schedule a different service call to fix the issues.  While I understand this....  who has the time to take off from work twice?!?!

As luck would have it, that's the way it needed to go bec then VC Electric called me back.  Spoke with the owner (Victor), he listened to what I needed done and although busy.... was able to schedule a time to meet with me within days to look at the problem and then actually fix it THAT day.  

I knew the electrical in my house was a pain in the butt,  just didn't know why.  Victor explained everything and reassured me the issues were fixable .... cause I was pretty sure they weren't without tearing into walls or something major.

Now all electrical outlets, including the annoying one outside, are fixed ... done in one day and the cost was waaaay less than I thought!

I'll definitely use this company again for my future projects-  I wont trust anyone else!

I recently hired VC electric again. It's been 4 years since I used him last. I called and the next morning he was at my house installing new outlets for a flatscreen tv. Same great experience as I had with him last time. On time, quality work at a reasonable price. Honestly, I don't get why some would be rating him low on Yelp. 5 stars all around!

I called Victor during the Christmas week (2015) to see if he was available to squeeze us in on short notice for a kitchen rewire job. He and his crew showed up on December 24th and did a fantastic job in rewiring my entire kitchen. When it was time for him to return and finish the job, he was there within a week.

I have called Victor a couple of times to ask him questions and if he does not answer the phone right away, he gets back to you in a reasonable amount of time.

Victor and his crew are very professional and do great work. I would highly recommend him for your residential electrical needs.

Victor is the man! I got a 240V outlet installed in my garage, so now I can charge my EV while I'm off in la la land. Victor came and explained how the wiring worked in my house, and the safest approach to enhance the existing configuration in order to make it work. A blink of an eye later the work is done, my car is charging, and I'm chatting with Victor about life in the bay. We concluded that life in the bay is good, despite all the traffic. Great experience all around.

Amazing experience that completely exceeded my expectations.  Called VC Electric yesterday for a small job installing a few exterior lights at my home.  Victor followed up today and offered to come over this afternoon and get it done.  Within the hour Victor arrived with one of his guys and got to work.  Extremely polite, very efficient and at a reasonable price.  Will definitely hire VC Electric in the future.

We lost power into our detached garage.  We have a freezer full of food we were able to save thanks to Victor.  He was the only one that was willing to make the drive to my home when I made this emergency call.  The problem was due to very old wiring in our family room which feeds power to our detached garage.  It was discovered not only burnt wiring, but also an old non standard  integration of wiring with multiple outlets that made this not a straight forward remediation.  Victor's experience, expertise, and knowledge was very evident.  In addition, his patience in explaining in simple terms was so appreciated.  Any electrical work I will need going forward I will only want Victor's company to work on.  He and his company are true professionals.

Doesn't return phone calls/texts. Never had work done with this person. Took the time to take pictures of the potential work on an RV 50A receptacle but again never provided comments. Maybe can't do the job

I had VC Electric originally come out to my house to ground several outlets in my office, as the old 1960s wiring did not have ground wires in the Romex. Victor gave me a good estimate over the phone, then we agreed on a time for him and his crew to come out; Victor was slammed with work, but he agreed to squeeze me in.

When he arrived, Victor discovered that my house has those old awful metal wall boxes, which was going to require tearing my drywall apart to redo. He suggested running a new circuit instead, since my office is less than 10 feet from the main service panel and the labor cost to ground or to run new wire was the same. He also suggested running two four outlets per wall, rather than two, since the price for labor was the same. Since there was no significant price difference for 15A or 20A Romex, I had him run a 20A circuit for the new outlets. Now I have six 20A outlets, rather than 3. Very useful for a home office with lots of computers. Room to expand later!

Victor and his crew worked fast, and kept my house clean during and after. They installed tamper-resistant outlets, which Milpitas requires for new work in bedrooms. The outlets are installed flush and don't move around at all. Good installation.

These guys are great!  I was in a tight spot from a terrible electrician that our home warranty company (AHS) sent to us all the way from Salinas. The guy left without doing anything. Called VC electric for an estimate to install a NEMA 14-50 outlet for my EV charger.  Victor came out last Friday and was on time and did a great job explaining exactly how he was going to run the wiring, where he was going to install the NEMA 14-50, and where he was going to install the EV charger.  His estimate was fair and was able to get the installation done that Monday morning.  He showed up on time and did a very good job with the plug install and the EV charger.  I was very happy with his work!!!

He was able to respond on short notice to a small job with fixing a burnt out dryer outlet. The wiring insulation had burned inside the outlet box, requiring re-positioning of the box to use undamaged wiring. He also noted the original box was too small and likely contributed to the overheating that damaged the outlet. He was able to perform the repair quickly using a larger outlet box to mitigate the overheating problem.
I will definitely use him for any electrical work needed in the future.

Great experience with Victor! He came the same day I called with a concern I had with an outlet in my home. He was able to replace and fix a faulty outlet. I was having issues with my washer not turning on and it needed up being the outlet that wasn't working properly. The wiring had been done wrong. Victor was very nice and honest! After a bit of a shock changing out some outlets, we decided to call VC Electric to see about getting someone over to handle it for us.  Victor was able to squeeze us in between jobs.  I got a call from him that day and he was able to come by even earlier. The job wasn't anything difficult but Victor explained what he was doing and why, then took care of some other wires that were still 'hot' although unused. He was super friendly and very professional.  My husband already wants to have him come back and switch out another outlet!

After weeks of dealing with other contractors, Victor and his crew were a breath of fresh air. Our house was basically a hodge podge of wiring, stuff added over the years and tapped into what should be dedicated circuits, lights would flicker when using the dishwasher, etc. Victor explained what he thought the place needed, offered a fair quote (much lower than what we expected), and we scheduled the work for two days later. He arrived on time with his crew and even brought a drywall guy to fix the wall they had to open up. They gave each appliance its own dedicated circuit, and balanced the rest of the house evenly, replaced the old breaker box (which had burn marks in it from arcing) explained everything along the way, cleaned up and were done same day. I came in contact with VC Electric through my Contractor when I was doing the buildout for my new gym, 9Round Pleasanton. The lights in my unit were not working properly and I needed to replace the transformer. I also had him install my Emergency Exit signs and do some work to power my signage for the outside of my gym.

We called Victor to replace all of our outlets and switches in the house and garage.   We also wanted him to install a ceiling fan in our bedroom, and install an outlet in the front porch area for Christmas lights and a future water feature (I will install one someday!!!)  

I am not an electrician, and I am not well versed in building code, so when we did the initial walk through so he could give us an estimate, he made several welcomed suggestions of possible upgrade ideas.  He also let us know that some upgrades  would be required in order to be compliant with current electrical standards (ie., GFCI outlets).  We decided to include all of the upgrades he suggested (changing several fluorescent lights to LED's including the canned lights and the long tubes recessed within the trim of our skylight) along with our other projects.  He emailed me with an estimate a few hours later.  The estimate was reasonable considering all of the work they would be doing so we scheduled Victor and his crew for the job.  They showed up on time and went straight to work.  They knocked out all of our projects the same day, and left each of their work spaces neat and tidy.

Victor and his crew member installed a sub panel 100A /240V, two 14-50 outlets 50A each in our garage and conduit extending one and three car widths with full city permit and inspection.   I liked how Victor took the time to explain the process, what he was doing and why and patiently answered all my questions.   Communication was excellent, he and his team arrived at the time committed, install was very clean , and outlets work perfectly as expected.

VC electric is the best!  Victor is always on time if not early; tremendous attention to details and a problem solver.  He's helped us with our old house back in Berkeley and had helped us set up our new place in Oakland when we first moved in three years ago.  And when an issue arose over the weekend with our sensor light, he came out today and fixed it within half an hour!  You CANNOT go wrong with VC Electrics, they're the BEST!

Not sure how VC Electric gets all five stars!?  Recently, we had an issue in our kitchen where our overhead chandeliers, GFI plugs and a few switches got overloaded and went out.  Naturally, not being an electrician, I did my research and even asked a local contractor who they recommended and went to Yelp to find VC Electric.

Victor, the company's owner, came out and met with my wife who was home that day and was able to fix the tripped breaker and get everything back on. He was at our home for an hour and charged us $185.  We were so thrilled, we didn't care and paid it.  While he was there, be began to tell my wife that our entire kitchen was not up to code, that the GFI's were all wired incorrectly, and that all of our wiring had to be redone.  He told her that our kitchen was a major fire hazard and that we would have a fire if it did not get fixed.  She called me immediately and we schedule Victor to come back out the following week to rewire our oven and fix our wiring in the kitchen.  He quoted us $350 for the oven and $1100 for the rest of the kitchen.  My wife being desperate to ensure we not have a fire agreed and he was scheduled.  Victor told my wife and I that the job would likely take 6 hours.

Something had come up the night before that was forcing me to reschedule so I reached out to Victor and couldn't reach him.  I then followed up with a text saying that I wanted to reschedule because of a family emergency.  He replied to the text and said, No, sorry, it's too late to cancel.  We went ahead and had his guys come out.  

His crew arrived at 7:30am and were both very nice.  They started with the oven and did a nice job rewiring it and getting it ready for our new oven installing (Remember, this is the $350 portion of the quote).  I left the house for about 5 minutes and when I came back, 3 GFI's in my kitchen were all opened up and the guys had simply pulled out the wires as they were trying to inspect what was happening.  I immediately told the lead technician that I decided I did not need them to rewire my kitchen and that I was just looking to have them install the 3 GFI's I had recently purchased.  He said, ok, no problem, and they did.

From the moment the men arrived to the moment they left, they were in my home for about 2 hours. Of that time, 90 mins were spent on my oven.  When the crew was leaving, he informed me that the total we owed was $850 and to our surprise, we wrote the check, but still felt like something was off.

Before they left I asked the crew leader whether or not what he saw was a fire hazard as my wife was clearly losing sleep over it.  He said, no, not at all.  Your GFI's should be 20 amp and they are only 15 amp and that should be changed, but its not a fire hazard.  You'll just find that certain appliances may overload these plugs and you need to be careful not to use too many small appliances in the kitchen at once.  I immediately felt like Victor had scared my wife into agreeing to this incredibly high estimate and really left us feeling like we had no other choice.

I called and sent Victor a text that afternoon, evening and even the next day with no reply.  I finally reached him at noon the following day and he asked me if I was the guy from the day before, which I confirmed and he began immediately defending the work his crew did.

He said, my crew did half the work we estimated so we charged you $850.  I told him they all they did in addition to my oven work was replace three GFI's and honestly, $500 seemed a bit steep for that.  He began arguing the work they did when I had to interrupt him and simply say, Victor, you weren't here.  I was.  I watched your crew work and they did not rewire anything. All they did was replace 3 GFI's.  He argued again and I told him that I was disappointed, felt taken and that I would let people know this.  I write this review because I have many years of previous experience in both construction and building restoration and I simply knew something was off.  This was not buyers remorse.  He appears to have a good business from so many 5 star reviews but I can't honestly give him that at this time.  It appears he is a good choice if I want to wire my garage for a Tesla but for anything else, this company cannot be trusted.

I can't praise Victor and his team enough.  We moved to Moraga to an older home and needed a lot of electrical upgrades, wiring, and replacement of light fixtures.  Victor gave us an itemized estimate, but ended up doing all these little things without extra charges.  While we were doing our reno, when he was around he would help us out with little tasks and making sure the other contractors were doing the right thing.  He's a stickler for perfection and we think of him as a friend.  Definitely recommend him - if you can book him because he's so busy!

We found Victor on yelp. We had to get our subpanel replaced and get some circuits rerouted for safety reasons. We gathered three quotes and his was best priced and he was extremely flexible as to when the project could be completed. He answered all of our questions honestly and followed through with great quality. He carefully explained what he would need to do in terms I could actually understand. He always answers his phone when we call or have questions about the project he did. He was also the best priced. I would recommend VC Electric to anyone needing electrical work done in their home.

Just had my 2nd 240 outlet installed in my garage by Victor.  This one was more complex since he needed to install a sub-panel on one side of the garage and run the wire to the other side of the garage where the outlet was going to be installed (2 electric cars in the garage-1 outlet for each).  Gave me a very reasonable estimate, showed up as promised Saturday morning, completed the job in 4 hours, and kept my garage clean.  He also pointed out how Solar City did not properly seal their wire and as a result water was leaking into the wall.  Victor is extremely knowledgeable and friendly, very trustworthy, and highly recommended.

I have had VC out three times now.  They are excellent.  fixed some tricky problems with GFCI outlets, two separate circuit runs, one for a mounted microwave and another for garage freezer.  They are easy to work with and can explain exactly what is needed, they caught my contractor making a major electrical mistake that would have left me blowing circuits and needing to cut into a brand new kitchen in the future.  Will use them again.

After a month of calling different electricians and not getting call backs, Victor finally did. He came in to diagnose a strange problem with dead lights, and got it all figured out in just a few minutes, and repaired within about 20. I seriously could not be happier with his service and the service of his technician.

Hired VC electric to install the new Nest Hello video doorbell in our house. Extra complicated because our house was never wired for a doorbell or chime. No problem. They ran the wires and installed the doorbell and chime for us easily and quickly. They were prompt, competent, easy to work with, reasonably priced, and respectful of our home. They were careful to cover their shoes and make sure that they didn't track any dirt into our house. Despite the fact that it was pouring rain outside! True professionals. Looking forward to our next project with them.

This review is a long time in coming; my project was completed on April 4th, 2014.

I am very satisfied with Victor + teams' work in my home. Victor was the only electrician to answer my calls after trying 7 different phone numbers via Yelp. His assessment appointment was quick, and cost nothing. He identified the problem quickly, gave a recommendation, and then named his costs. When I asked him to specify what exactly made the project cost what it did, he broke the list down by component, labor, and extra materials needed. I thought he charged fairly for labor.

Victor and his team arrived 10 minutes early. They removed a 50+ year old kitchen and dining area lighting system + non-functioning chandelier, and installed 10 LED recessed ceiling lights + a dimmer switch by rewiring through the attic-space and cutting bigger holes in the ceiling. They also did a lot of extra work without extra charge; all in all, the job was finished with 2 hours to spare (from the time frame they had given me).

Victor and his men were focused, friendly, and careful. They cleaned up before and after the job was done. Victor had to take a lot of calls during the job; several people were requesting his services throughout the day. He and his men clearly knew what they were doing; they didn't have to backtrack or wait for more parts to come.

Victor is very responsive; if you call him and he doesn't pick up, leave your phone number, and he will call or text you as soon as he can (always within 15 minutes in my experience). Victor actually came back a week later on his own time to help recycle the parts that came down from the old lightning system, since I was at a loss as to what to do with them. Our outdoor pool equipment panel suddenly stopped working. After reading other Yelp reviews, I called VC Electric. The owner, Victor Chavez, and I spoke and he was at my place a day or so later. He gave me an estimate after confirming that the wiring between our pool equipment panel and the main one inside our house had been damaged. He also confirmed that the outside panel itself was in fact inadequate for the amount of pool equipment drawing power from it. He also brought up an issue in that the wiring between the two panels was aluminum instead of copper, thus not being up to code. Due to our busy work schedule, he was able to fit us in on a Saturday. Victor and his crew arrived on time, did the work promptly, disposed of the exchanged parts, cleaned up afterwards and answered all of my questions. It was a great experience overall. I would definitely use VC Electric again for other electrical work around the house.

Victor and his crew are absolutely amazing!  We hired Victor to redo our electricity panels and everything was done in a few days, talk about efficiency!  During the estimate, Victor toured the house and told me everything that was wrong with the wires, circuits, panels, etc., even 3 other electricians who came by did not mention anything at all besides me pointing at the electric panels that I know are a real concern.  His price is very fair, in fact, it's even cheaper than some of the other local electricians who came by for an estimate.

The overall work and finish was absolutely thorough and superb.  My wife and I loved everything that had been done.  We loved and feel so confident with Victor's service so much that we used him to do a few more smaller projects throughout the house.

Rest assured that whenever we have any electricity problems that need to be worked on, VC Electric will be our first and only stop!

Just had 2 outlets and wiring replaced by the owner Vic.  Great job and reasonable prices. Came out earlier than appt so very pleased.

I phoned Victor on Sunday and he called me Monday to make the appointment.  We are switching our internet from AT&T to Xfinity and needed coaxial cable fished into the wall by the computer.  Victor came out with his son and worked hard to located the existing cable.  He had to spend time under the house finding the cable, cutting the hole in the wall and fishing it up.  He was very knowledgeable and worked quickly and neatly.  I come from a family of electricians (couldn't get one of them to come out!!) so I know that his price was very competitive.  I will call him again if I need an electrician!  Wonderful man.

Victor came to our house last Friday, to help us fix some bad wiring in light fixtures. He managed to find time on a very short notice and charged reasonable rate for his great service.

I am very impressed with his experience and quickness. Victor is a very friendly guy. He also manages a big group of electricians that can take on large projects.

Hired VC electric to install the new Nest Hello video doorbell in our house. Extra complicated because our house was never wired for a doorbell or chime. No problem. They ran the wires and installed the doorbell and chime for us easily and quickly. They were prompt, competent, easy to work with, reasonably priced, and respectful of our home. They were careful to cover their shoes and make sure that they didn't track any dirt into our house. Despite the fact that it was pouring rain outside! True professionals. Looking forward to our next project with them.

Victor was busy on the Friday that I needed him. He was able to schedule a service call in the afternoon. It was a good thing, what I thought was a faulty breaker actually turned out to be wires that had overheated to the point that the insulation had burned off. Victor's concise inspection probably prevented a fire. THANK YOU! Very professional, and reasonable. I will use VC Electric again.

Victor and his team were great.  They responded very quickly to an emergency on a Saturday and came out promptly when they said they would.  They helped address and fix our problem very quickly and provided a lot of useful and safe knowledge.  Would definitely call them again for our next job.

I found Victor on yelp and was so happy to have him fix the electric issues reported by the inspector. Victor came in time and carefully reviewed the scenes. He explained to me the potential risks of those improper wirings and how he was going to fix them. I can tell that Victor is a great electrician with rich experience. He sorted out things quickly and did a great job to fix the wiring. Victor also noticed other potential risks and gave me good suggestions on how to fix. Victor is so kind that while seeing I got stuck on the new lock, he even helped me on it.  With all of those extra help and suggestions, Victor only asked for a very reasonable cost for the wirings. I greatly recommended Victor!

This review is a long time in coming; my project was completed on April 4th, 2014.

I am very satisfied with Victor + teams' work in my home. Victor was the only electrician to answer my calls after trying 7 different phone numbers via Yelp. His assessment appointment was quick, and cost nothing. He identified the problem quickly, gave a recommendation, and then named his costs. When I asked him to specify what exactly made the project cost what it did, he broke the list down by component, labor, and extra materials needed. I thought he charged fairly for labor.

Victor and his team arrived 10 minutes early. They removed a 50+ year old kitchen and dining area lighting system + non-functioning chandelier, and installed 10 LED recessed ceiling lights + a dimmer switch by rewiring through the attic-space and cutting bigger holes in the ceiling. They also did a lot of extra work without extra charge; all in all, the job was finished with 2 hours to spare (from the time frame they had given me).

Victor and his men were focused, friendly, and careful. They cleaned up before and after the job was done. Victor had to take a lot of calls during the job; several people were requesting his services throughout the day. He and his men clearly knew what they were doing; they didn't have to backtrack or wait for more parts to come.

Victor is very responsive; if you call him and he doesn't pick up, leave your phone number, and he will call or text you as soon as he can (always within 15 minutes in my experience). Victor actually came back a week later on his own time to help recycle the parts that came down from the old lightning system, since I was at a loss as to what to do with them. I appreciate the time he and his team took to do a professional job. I highly recommend them for electrical jobs both big and small.

I had several outlets, switches and ceiling fans that needed repair.  He told me what I needed to purchase to fix the fans so the job took 2 visits.  On both occasions he came out within 1 day of my call and was on time for both visits. He is very knowledgeable and explained why some of my switches needed replacing even though they weren't on my list.  He is great to work with and I will definitely use him again!

When I called Saturday morning with my emergency, Victor answered my call. Even though he had a full day he promised to come to my house. I called 6 other electricians only 2 answered the phone and none gave me any hope of a quick solution. Victor kept me posted, and was true to his word. He showed up with his crew and made quick work of my problem.  His price was very fair. We will never call any other electrician.

Victor is the best and I was right to check out YELP and get someone with a five star rating, and there's a reason he has a five star rating!  He's prompt and efficient and I am super happy that I have a doorbell that works after not working for years!  He also installed and outlet for me and I couldn't be more pleased by the service he provided!  It's just grand to have a great experience and actually deal with someone that you'd have back in a second! Just used Victor today. We had an emergency electrical situation. He came out on short notice on a Holiday weekend, and cancelled his other plans for the day to help us. He charged us exactly what the estimate was. We only had to wait one hour for him to get supplies after he assessed the situation. He is very competent and highly personable. I would highly recommend him and wouldn't hesitate to use him again. Even left him home alone.

i hired this guy at the recommendation of a contractor working for me to do some light electrical work.   After the job was done I was left with an outdoor outlet that shorts out when it rains and an unsightly light switch.  When pressed to correct, I got a list of excuses why it wasn't his responsibility.  in the end I'm left with having to hire someone else to finish the job.  Hire at own risk.  Not recommended.

Victor is proof that Yelp works.  I purchased an electric car and needed and 240V outlet installed in my garage.  I found him on Yelp, contacted him on Monday and he came out on Tuesday (Christmas Eve) in the morning for a quick estimate.  He quoted a price and how long it would take.  He was able to come out this morning at 7am and finished the job 2 hours faster than he estimated and no additional costs other than the original quote.  He was professional, knowledgable and friendly.  I would highly recommend him!

Victor Chavez and his VC Electric Team did an exceptional job in support of our home remodel.  My wife and I were the GC for our home remodel.  We added lights, sconces, and ceiling fan in our master bath and master bedroom.  We added lights in our bar as well as mounted a wide screen TV above our family room fireplace.  Victor and his Team did all of the latter with little to no supervision.  They always arrived on time, kept me updated on their status, cleaned up prior o departing, and did an exceptional job for a fair price.

Had a very minor issue with a door chime, Vic was there within a few hours and fixed it easily.  He offered to talk me through the fix over the phone, but as did not have proper tools nor wanted to debug remotely - i was happy to have him stop by.   Fair price and great service, will use again if i need to

Called them at 11:00 am about the GFCI outlet (not functioning) that the water heater is plugged into, they came out that day as soon as possible, jumped on it, fixed it in less than 5 mins, excellent customer service, in Dublin, can't beat it! Water heater now running, happy wife, happy life!

We used Victor for Tesla charging station installation. Our experience was terrific. We called Victor and he immediately gave us a very competitive quote, came over the very next day and completed the installation we good workmanship. Victor is very nice person himself, very friendly, professional, knowledgeable and approachable. We have tried several electricians before and Victor was simply outstanding.

Our circuits kept tripping.  We needed to upgrade our circuits and main panel box.  Victor and his crew did an excellent job.  We also wanted new sensor lights to be installed outside and new switches inside.  Everything we needed was taken care of.  We are very satisfied and will recommend VC Electric  highly!

I've called on Victor to help numerous times but this is my first opportunity to write a proper review.  Quite simply, if you are in need of an electrician who is professional, courteous, knowledgeable, and practical, call him!!  
On my first call to Victor, I needed some general work done on the home.  I needed a ceiling fan to be operated with a remote control, a replacement of a light switch to my front porch, a laundry light assembly, and an outdoor security light.  Victor arrived promptly, and listened to what I wanted done and then gave me excellent feedback.  When I needed a security light done he steered me away from the ones you find at Home Depot and he custom made a light fixture.  I appreciated that as I didn't want something as important as that to fail when I needed it the most.  He got all the rest of my needs completed and made sure it was all done correctly.  He was reasonably priced in comparison to the other electricians, and I absolutely recommend him.  
On my most recent call to Victor, I called him a day prior to needing his services, and he remembered me... In fact my neighbor across the street had called him under my recommendation, and he was just in my neighborhood 3 days ago... Just like my first call, he was very professional and showed up on time ( which I always appreciate).  This time I needed his help in adding some additional outlets for a theater room I was putting together that day.  He worked well with the Magnolia crew, even though one of them was not being courteous.  Despite their differences, Victor got the job done.
Again, if you are in need of a person who is respectful and knows what he's doing, don't hesitate to call Victor... He'll get it done!!!

I needed an electrician pretty quickly so I decided to go to Yelp and find someone on a Sunday.  After reviewing the feedback on Victor, I decided to call him.  Given that it was a Sunday, I had no expectation that he would answer the call.  He did and indicated that he would be able to come between 4 and 6pm the next day.  I made every effort to leave work so I can meet him at the house by 4pm.  Unfortunately, I was delayed.  He showed up promptly at 4pm and went to work (my wife was home to let him in).  By the time I walked in to the house at 4:45pm, the work was done to perfection!!!

I'm a new home owner and my home needed 4 ceiling fans installed upstairs.  Natually I called around first to find a quote where I'd get high quality service for a price that worked within my budget.  Victor from VC Electric came over today and delivered just that.  Not only was his estimate accurate and fair, he also finished installing all 4 fans by the afternoon!  On top of all that Victor pointed out how my smoke detectors were not properly wired, which the prior owner didnt even point out when I bought the house.  Long story short I'll only be calling VC for any electrical work in the future!

Victor and his crew did an outstanding job upgrading my electric service panel and installing new outlets and lighting in my garage.  

The wiring in my garage was a mess.  The previous owner had attempted to do his own wiring and there were code violations all over the place.  Victor made sure that all the issues were fixed.

But even before all this, Victor was the only one (out of three different electricians I called for an estimate) who took the time during his first visit to understand my needs properly and he did a service load calculation by walking around the house and adding up the usage of various appliances and circuits.  

His rates are very reasonable and his work is exemplary.

VIctor and Pablo were very knowledgeable and professional. I called early in the morning and was able to get an appointment that afternoon. We were out of power in 3 rooms inside our house and victor and Pablo found the issue in less than 20 mins. They also recommended a new breaker box and showed us the burnt circuit wire that failed on us. Victor was very honest and was not pushy or rude. He took his time And made sure the job was done right his prices are fair and affordable. For fast and great service our family highly recommends vc electric!!!

I was very happy with VC Electric. I found him on Yelp and loved the reviews. He gave me an estimate over the phone. He didn't mark up materials. He worked on Labor Day. His associates were great as well. Very friendly.

I wanted some work requiring running new 240 volt line for the installation of a new appliance. The other quote I had gotten was $$$$, but I searched in online forums and found other references to Victor and his firm. My installation was tricky, involving someone crawling 100 feet under my house, lots of conduit, and delicate work fitting it into the existing panel. Victor was able to fit me in very quickly. He was on time, pleasant, gave me a good feeling that safety and quality were his foremost concerns, and billed me very fairly. I couldn't be more pleased.

Victor helped me pull an internet line thru my attic to the wall on the side of my office that didn't have an outlet. He helped me understand what my options were and discussed the pros/cons for them. He was very helpful and did a geat job. He was very flexible and accomodating to my schedule for a last minute change. I will recommend him.

Read the reviews and thought, ok sounds good. Victor fixed the immediate problem and was supposed to return the next day at 7:00 a.m. Was up and ready, no Victor, no call. Never heard from him again.

We had to do a major overhaul of all our electrical since it was very old and things were shorting out throughout the house. I checked Yelp and found Victor. He came out and gave me an estimate on what he thought we needed to do. We  put in a new main panel, added more outlets to the kitchen and updated all the outlets throughout the house. A big job, but I felt Victor was honest and very responsive. The job went pretty smoothly, a couple hiccups on logistics but Victor and his guys took care of everything. They were very aware of the inconvenience of potentially being without power (which thankfully we were not). Based on his honesty, quality of work and professionalism, I would recommend VC Electric.
