Established in 1999.
Trout electric was started by Matt Trout with a vision of customer service and extreme pride in all work. He is a master electrician and has created the best of the best team. With all employees having on going training and keeping up with new product knowledge on a weekly basis you will find that they will be able to accommodate and resolve any situation.

Matt Trout has 20 years in the electrical field. He served a 5 year apprenticeship as a union electrician before becoming a superintendent with a large corporation. After some time as a superintendent, Matt wanted to put his years of training and skills into something that would offer customers a level of service that was lacking with most service companies. He wanted to give customers options and an experience that left he or she with satisfaction knowing they received quality, safe and exceptional work done on their home or business. He now leads a team that all have that same goal. Every customer counts, no matter the job size. He is involved in all aspects of the company ensuring that every customer is taken care of.

Trout Electric saved our pool. After our last big rain the underground line that ran down the side of our home was flooded and the pool timer fried. We called and they were out the next day. electricians, Jeff and Robert were able to trouble shoot and explain the need for a new above ground line. They showed up on time were friendly and very respectful of both us and the property. They ran the new line, installed a new timer and filled any holes made. We couldn't be happier as they took the time to show us how everything worked. They even made sure our other power was up. We would recommend Trout, Jeff and Robert every time!

Excellent job and excellent customer service!

Had them come out today for a consultation. Scope of job and price was acceptable, and they were able to start on it right away. Job was done quickly, and they even helped me in making sure we get the right portable charger to utilize the fastest charge possible.

I would definitely recommend their service and will use them again in the future when needed.

I've been using Trout Electric for all my electrician needs for awhile, including changing my halogen lights to LED's, installing new electrical outlets and most recently installing a new electrical panel and EV charging unit.

I've had multiple different crews come out and specifically Gil and Aaron have been excellent and very helpful.

I have upmost confidence and trust in all the guys from Trout and their office staff is also very helpful over the phone.

Jeff and Robert came by to install a Tesla wall connector in our garage. I couldn't recommend them enough, as they were professional, efficient, and honest. They initially came to provide a quote but were able to do the installation that same day. The work was fast and we are very pleased with our experience. If you want the job done correctly, give Trout Electric a try, you won't be disappointed!

I worked with Matt and Vince from Trout Electric to install a Tesla charger at my house. They initially came to give an estimate and I lucked out because they could accommodate and set up the entire charging system that day. Their service is friendly, professional, and efficient. I had them install my Tesla charger in the garage - Trout Electric was on-time, fairly quick given the task and extremely professional.

It's been 3 months now and nothing has tripped. I highly recommend their services. Also, something to note that I found out after the fact that they did my entire cult-de-sac in the Inland Empire and installed most of my friends in Orange County as well.

I hardly know where to begin to express how incredibly impressed my husband, Art, and I are with the work done by Jeff and Robert.  Jeff has been so understanding of my concerns and willing, at every turn, to answer any questions and explain the work they will be doing.  Jeff has made recommendations, never being hard-sell in the least, with full description of the the work and the results.  They recently replaced a ceiling fixture for us, along with making upgrades to the electrical line in the attic serving the fixture.  They also replaced our whole-house surge protector, giving new up-to-date security. These guys are so careful and respectful of our home, which is appreciated beyond words.  Art and I have always been thankful for tradespeople.  Knowing we have electricians like Jeff and Robert we can call is a most comforting feeling.

Trout has been nothing short of amazing. I've contacted trout for an EV charger installation and from start to finish they've delivered above and beyond. Everyone at trout, from customer service, to the electricians Mick and Vince, to the final inspection has been an ease. Its money well spent and I wouldnt recommend anywhere else. If you want no head aches, this is the place to call. They will handle everything for you.

I want to give a special shoutout to Mick and Vince, who were the electricians Trout sent. They performed an awesome installation, and their attention to detail is very impressive. The installation was extremely clean and professional, they've hidden the cables so well that you don't even know it's there.

I'd been delaying getting our Tesla Wall Connector for home charging installed for months now because I thought it would be a hassle, but I had one of the smoothest experiences imaginable with Trout electric. After submitting their online form, in a couple hours, I had an appointment scheduled for the next day where I met Jeff and Robert, who took a look at our setup and gave a quote. Within a week of that, the same folks who came out for the quote were able to come out and complete it all in just a few hours. Jeff and Robert were great to work with, they even did the full installation through a crawl space and more in the midst of a lot of rain! Very professional, knowledgeable, and smooth. I'd happily work with Trout in the future.

I want to give a shout out to Trout Eletric for the awesome job their techs do and great customer service. I have used them on multiple occasions for installing several ceiling fans, electrical outlet work and most recently installing a 240v EV charger. Compared to prior electricians I have hired, Trout Electric does a superior job and you can tell by their workmanship. They were always on time, quote you a reasonable price, and clean up after they are done working. Kudos to Dalton and Robert for the last job they did at my place.

Matt and Vince were absolutely amazing.
Initial quote discussion was incredibly helpful, talked through all the options, listened to my ridiculous ideas and told me why they wouldn't work but how to achieve what we were trying to do another way.
We decided to go with Trout specially because the two of them were happy to help and educate, and get us the work we wanted, within budget, while setting us up for the future more expensive work. Matt and Vince both came promptly, worked hard and gave us updates throughout the day. They made sure the work was done exactly as we wanted, everything was cleaned up afterwards, and all was explained.
We will definitely recommend Trout Electric, and specifically Matt and Vince, to anyone who needs any work done.

Christian and his partner were awesome. I had a million questions and being a little tight with funds these days I asked for their honest opinions and all the options I had available to me. I loved how they didn't pressure me into a particular solution and let me make my own choice. They also went above and beyond and checked other areas and devices for me and overall these guys were just true gentleman. Being Asian, my wife loved how they asked about taking their shoes off before entering the house. I have zero complaints in the company, service, technicians, or the price. These are the best electricians around. All their staff is highly qualified and they are fairly priced. They provide an estimate before starting work. From simple repairs to complex jobs they are the company to use. If there was a 10 star option, i would give it to them.

We purchased a Tesla just recently and we needed the charger placed and set up in our garage. I called in and the phone was answered by a very friendly voice, she helped me get an appointment quite quickly. She said there was a four hour window that they would arrive in. The electricians arrived right at the start time she told me. They were professional friendly and helpful. Us being first time Tesla owners, they gave us so many tips and smart ideas on making the maximum usage of our electricity and the Tesla charging. if you're looking for an electric company that is Tesla certified reliable and professional this is the place.

Jeff came out and determined that our lines to our breaker box were damaged, so Edison came out and fixed (their) lines. Put in replacement fuse, Electricity!!

I didn't get any service done by Matt and the team at Trout Electric, but I have nothing but great things to say.

I had a NEMA 14-50 installed by another electrician, but was left a bit unsatisfied with the initial installation. I reached out to Matt to get a 3rd party consultation - he was nothing but professional and responsive via email even into the evenings past business hours. Even though I had never worked with him, and likely wouldn't for this install (which I let him know), he treated me with respect and made sure to help in any way he could. He had his team come out and as expected, the cost of a new electrician vs. having my existing electrician re-do the outlet was just a bit too big of a gap for me to go with - they would have had to use their own wiring and outlet vs. the existing one.

Really happy with my short experience with Matt and his team. FWIW, they are a bit on the expensive side when it comes to EV installations compared to the competition, but their service is top notch. I am 100% positive that I'll leave happy with their service if I ever need it in the future.

From the time of my first call to Trout, the customer service, the free estimates, being on time, to the job being done well, I highly recommend Trout.

I originally called for an EV outlet in my garage and their knowledge was obvious. Dalton and Robert were as good if not better than any contractor I've ever hired. Professional, friendly, timely, and CLEAN. Just really good people who do a killer job for the price they quoted. Awesome.

I had QMerit installation through my Chevy bolt Program. Trout electric was assigned to me for my Level 2 Charge installation. I submitted request and Trout Electric gave me quote within 2 days. Matt was very professional and discussed options with me over phone on Monday. They schedule in person consultation on same Friday. The guys came on Time on Friday and reviewed options. Price was reasonable. Matt worked options with me and installed it on same day. Great Customer service by Matt and Colin ( technician who installed my chi after)

LOVE Trout Electric. They're honest, reasonably priced, and very efficient. I've used them several times, and won't use anyone else. Among many things, they installed my chandelier, which took a lot of patience on their end. They also took the time to install my outdoor cameras, made sure they worked, and when they didn't work, suggested a better brand to get. When I got the new ones, they were quick to return to install them and made sure they worked right. Scott and Aaron are the best!

Contact Trout Electric to install my Tesla charging unit. They responded from my Yelp inquiry quickly. Made an appointment for a electrician to come out for an estimate. The estimate was little high but he did such a great job and exceeded all expectations with the install and his knowledge. Very happy with the outcome.

Trout electric is the go to electric contractor who works all over Southern California. I needed to have a Tesla charger put in my garage. I was fortunate to have Matt from Trout come out and do an estimate and appraisal of what had to be done. I added several other electrical needs and we booked an appointment. Matt and Vince (Matt's assistant) came out today and were here all day long; and they were able to get so much accomplished including installing the Tesla charger installed, providing a new sub panel, putting in several Lutron casseta dimmers and connecting to my Alexa, and adding dimmers and on/off on several outdoor area lights. It was a long day and they were great, always pleasant, always helpful.  After  the work was completed (and it was night), Matt spent the time to make sure I understood what they did.  I have now decided to add electrical switch and ambient lighting in an outside patio. Matt provided a new estimate for another project I have full confidence Trout can provide.  Many thanks to Trout Electric: the best for providing residence and commercial electrical needs. NAL

My family moved in to our 1959 home and knew that the electrical was not up to par. Trout was the first company we called to do our whole house rewire, I got immediate good vibes from Mark and trout's policies. We of course shopped around a little but we knew that nobody could beat Trout.
     I cannot say how much I LOVE THIS COMPANY! Coolest, most professional, knowledgeable workers ever! Noah, Kenny and Issac, I can't sing enough Praises about them. They go above and beyond and are amazing at what they do. Bottom line they know their stuff. The office customer service is exceptional and up front about the process and pricing.

Let me just tell you, I am over the moon about my interactions with this company. I needed an adapter or a wall charger installed for my Tesla and found them initially on Tesla's website and then of course I came to Yelp before reaching out. My first point of contact was a gentleman name Matt. Matt was so patient and helpful and responsive to my questions. I know very little about electricity and he was explaining the process in Laymans terms because my home was built in the 90s and not equipped necessarily for electric vehicle charging. And we spoke back-and-forth a couple of times throughout the day and finally figured out what the best option would be for me and scheduled an appointment for the following week. The electricians Aaron and another Matt came out to do the installation of the receptacle for the adapter because that was a better fit than the wall charger. They were very nice as well. Very professional and efficient. Explain the process as they went along. They did have to do some cutting of the right drywall to run it from my laundry room to the garage which is connected by one wall. They re-inserted the 4x4 pieces that they cut out so that I could patch up the areas. They cleaned up behind themselves. I was very thrilled with the whole process. I would highly recommend them their services. And when I am ready to upgrade to a 200 amp panel, which probably won't be for about another year or so, I will definitely reach out to them to do the work. Great job and great service!

These guys just do awesome work! Had Trout Electric come out today to install a 14-50 outlet in my garage. The technician that installed the outlet was named Robert. This guy was meticulous in everything he was doing to install the conduit and outlet. This tech was friendly to deal with from start to finish.

I have a cabin in Joshua Tree and Scott and Kenny showed up to my property perfectly on time, even with a few hour window. Our property is a bit off the beaten path and have had nothing but problems with electricians either not showing up, not answering the phone, never available, or just looking for big jobs. I called them. they scheduled an appointment within 48 hours and were punctual and friendly.  Scott and Kenny identified the problem immediately and fixed it within 5 minutes of arriving. they gave me an amazing price and had them in and out in less than 20 min. they are really good with dogs as well. our dog doesn't really like anyone but Kenny had my German Shepard playing outside. I will use this company and request Scott or Kenny if possible. If you live in the desert and can't find reliable electricians call these guys. they will continue to get my business!!

Giving Trout Electric 5 stars for their fabulous service a few days ago.

First, I want to say I am grateful to the field manager for waiving my emergency after hours fee. This company shows compassion and empathy for their customers.

I had an appointment with a different electrical company based on a reference given to me by my neighbor. Well, that reference was the WORST EVER. That company stood me up on my appointment  and left me scrambling around last minute trying to figure out what to do. They canceled because their tech was called to do a job at a mall and canceled on me without any type of communication and left me worried and wondering where they were 3 hours later. Long story short. They stood me up and didn't care.

Trout electric came to my rescue. TROUT ELECTRIC IS WONDERFUL! They came out after hearing my story that I was left high and dry by another company. it was an emergency service that needed attention. I desperately needed to fix a power issue to my fish room, which houses 7 aquariums which I have poured a ton of money into and could not bare to lose any of my fish and 5 fresh water shrimp colonies.

Trout electric not only came out promptly to get power up and running for my life support systems, they helped me get more power to that room so that in the future, I wouldn't have any circuit issues.

They came to my aid and honestly, they saved me from losing a thousand dollars in fish and shrimps.

We first had Trout install an ev charger.  They were very polite and professional.  They asked us a lot of questions on what we wanted and did a great job.

I didn't hesitate to contact Trout when I had a problem with my electrical panel.  They were quick to respond and again, very polite and professional.  I had asked them if they had time to install a bathroom ceiling light and they took care of it.

I've put them in my phone contacts and they are the first company I will call for electrical service.

Matt and Shane came out to install an EV charger but had to add a breaker  and move some circuits. They did a good job and cleaned up after themselves....They left for the day, but then I ran into a problem around 11pm that night. A few of my thermostats threw power errors and the AC wasn't working. I called Matt on his cell and he answered while still working on another job. He understood my frustration and came out the next morning by 6:45a and was able to resolve the issue in under 20 minutes. Great customer service isn't too common these days, but these guys definitely know how to treat a customer. Even though the job wasn't done, they made sure to come back and complete it....that's awesome! Highly recommend Trout!!!

I am so happy I ended up going with Trout electric! I had a really terrible experience with a different electrician I was considering for my job (I reviewed that company as well if you're interested) and got quotes from a handful of other places and Trout was absolutely the best option for so many reason. I needed an electrician to install a Tesla electric car charger and it took a week or so to get an appointment, but it was worth the wait. Dalton and Bailey were the technicians who came out for my appointment and they were amazing - super professional and knowledgeable. They quoted a price that was right in line with the other estimates I collected and the option for a permit was actually a little less expensive than some of their competitors. They also automatically give you the option to get a permit with the price, but explain that you can opt to pull your own permit if you want to take that charge off. If you pull your own permit, you will actually save a little (I think it was about $150-200) but that means you need to do your own drawing and such when you submit it to the city, so if you want to get permits, it's worth the money to just pay them to submit the permits for you. If you don't care to get permits at all, you can just opt to pull the permits yourself and then not pull them. None of the other electricians automatically quoted a cost for the permit and when I would ask, they would kind of insinuate they don't recommend permits and that no one gets them - which is probably true that many people opt not to get them, but there are also a lot of people like me who just want to get everything done by the books and technically you are supposed to get permits. Being so adverse to a permit made me feel a bit skeptical that those electricians were working in line with the most current construction codes and standards. However, the fact that it is customary for Trout to quote with a permit and then with the option to pull your own, made me feel that they were 100% confident in the work they were going to be doing would pass a permit inspection, regardless of if you were actually planning to get a permit or not. Anyway, they were able to install the charger the same day and it didn't take long at all, maybe an hour or so. They submitted all the permit paperwork to the city and a few weeks later I received a packet in the mail with the permit and all I had to do was call the city and have an inspector come out to sign off on it, which was super easy to schedule. The inspector came out and signed off - the whole process went very smoothly.

I cannot overstate how fantastic the entire Trout Electric team was from start to finish.

Matt Trout did a virtual walk-through of my property over Facetime, laying out exactly what to expect, and even saved me some money by talking me out of the Wall Connector since it would be useless given our maximum amps. When another Tesla Certified electrician told me they could install a subpanel and piping outside our property without ever having to go through our drywall, Matt was kind enough to jump on Facetime again for a second walk-through and patiently explained to me how there's no way that kind of install would pass inspection. The irony is the Trout quote was still $1k less than the supposedly cheaper external quote. Saved me a ton of money right there.

On the day of the install, Matt (different Matt) and Gil were super helpful. They installed a brand new breaker box to replace the ancient and potentially dangerous Zinsco panel (at a discount). The dry wall cuts needed to add the new wiring were very minimal and they left them in neat pile in the garage to make patching easier for my dry wall guy. They tested and labeled each of the new breakers, and were very polite and courteous. Professionals through and through.

When the car arrived, I plugged it in and I'm now drawing 32miles/hour charging, exactly as it should be. Fully charged a Model 3 Long Range in about 8 hours. Matt and Gil did a great job with the piping in the garage, and it's nice knowing I have a brand new breaker box that won't catch fire.

If you're looking for an EV charger install, go with Trout. They'll treat you right.

I initially spoke with Matt about the scope of work we had.  He was professional and knowledgeable.  I reached out to a few other places to get competitive quotes, however, after speaking with Matt, I knew I had to go with Trout Electric.  It was the best decision!  We had a total of 4 ceiling fans we wanted installed, 3 of which had no attic/crawl space access, and 2 of which were in vaulted ceilings.

Trout electric completed a panel upgrade on my home. From the beginning Trout was responsive and helpful. I received four bids. Although not the lowest bid. After our initial consultation Trout left me with the best impression they would see the project through completion. I was right. My project was completed in a timely manner and met all safety standards imposed by my city to meet all city permit requirements. I don't normally leave reviews, but Garrett & team did a very thorough and clean Tesla Wall Connector install at my condo. Most importantly, it will pass code from the most stringent inspector. They recognized the challenges of the install at the quotation process (limitations at the condo main panel, and the route from the subpanel to the garage), and worked to find a solution. All other electricians balked at the job, but they welcomed the challenge.

For both quotation and install, they arrived on time, executed the work efficiently, cleaned up thoroughly, and were friendly throughout.

I did a lot of research on electrical code and crawled through tight spots in my attic with the intention of doing it myself before I called Trout. I guarantee I could not have done a cleaner job and it would've been a multi-day job for what they knocked out in a few hours.

I can see why they are highly rated on Yelp and recommended by Tesla.

Trout Electric recently completed an extensive electrical upgrade for a triplex rental that we own in Pasadena. We are thankful to the Trout team for their patience, knowledge, attention to detail, and hard work. I was referred to Trout by Tesla, and over the course of the job, we learned that Trout has a long history of pleasing Tesla customers, back to the days of the early Model S.

At our triplex, we were committed to performing the electrical upgrades necessary to add EV charging stations, with the added benefit of opening the door to future use of electrical appliances such as heat pumps instead of burning natural gas. We decided on wifi-enabled Tesla Wall Connectors because most EVs sold in the US today are Teslas, while Amazon.com sells adapters that enable other EVs to use Tesla chargers.

Early in the process, Gil made it clear that we would need to upgrade the electrical service from the street. For maximum EV charge speeds and greatest flexibility, we wanted to establish 400 amp service, to be shared by three meters and panels for the three units. However, it became clear that the City of Pasadena would charge a hefty premium to provide anything above 200 amps for a single parcel, so we ultimately settled for a shared 200 amp connection. Trout Electric was very patient with us during this process, and helpfully shared suggestions as to how we might in the future incorporate power sharing via DCC devices so as to make the most of the 200 amp connection.

Once Trout secured the necessary approvals, the actual work took a few days. The City-mandated main disconnect and the three new meters were relocated to the front of the building, conduit was laboriously routed through the crawlspace under the building for optimal aesthetics, and the new service panels were placed in the rear of the building where the previous panels had been. As there were space constraints, Gil worked hard to optimize the placement for access and aesthetics. Then, conduit was run underneath the building, underground to the garage, and to City-mandated disconnects for the charging stations. One charging station was installed for each garage parking space, along with standard 120 volt outlets that may be used for charging small-battery vehicles.

We were then responsible for hiring someone to perform significant stucco repairs and painting. None of this was a surprise to us, as Trout was very upfront during the entire process about what would be required of us. We also did whatever we could to move vegetation and rocks out of the way.

Upon completion, Pasadena inspectors raised issues over very small concerns that we felt to be pretty nitpicky. For instance, the City insisted on extra labels next to the meters, even though the existing labeling seemed quite clear and unambiguous. The City also asked for removal of additional vegetation and decorative rocks near the meters. Trout had to order special labels in an expedited manner, and a technician even helped with some of the related yardwork. Under Matt's leadership, they were willing to quickly do whatever was necessary to take care of us and our tenants.

We will undoubtedly have additional electrical jobs in the months and years to come, and Trout Electric is now at the top of our list of contractors to call. I only wish that a relative to whom I recently referred Trout had been patient enough to listen to my advice rather than rushing forward with the first available contractor, who has proven to be less communicative and responsive than was my experience with Trout.

I originally was going to have a new light fixture that required wiring, just for dusk to dawn lighting, but Gil told me about another option with my existing recessed lights on my patio that would work even better and save me a few bucks. I am so impressed with Trout Electric.  There customer service is excellent which is what I was exactly looking for.  It is hard to find that these days any more. The ladies, who work there, pick the phone up right away; and, call you to let you know when they will be arriving for your job to be done.

I had Erin and Nathan come to my house.  (Nathan worked along side Erin.) They were very professional, kind, and arrived on time.  I had explained to Erin what had happened with my Thomasville Hutch that I still have because an excellent piece of furniture.  The 2 lights inside of it had been flickering. I tried to use the dimmer to turn it on inside and it would not work.  I had then gone to Lamps Plus to get LED bulbs and others to try.  I brought them home and the hutch would not turn on. When Erin was here, he tried to turn it on; but, it would not except when he would wiggle the dimmer after turning it all the way to the right.  Then it would stay on.  He showed me how to do it. He mentioned to me, also, that he felt he really could redo the lighting inside by: installing 2 new puck lights inside my hutch.  He researched it first; he than came back into our house and gave me a go and he went to Home Depot to get them, came back and then made sure they would fit.  They ended up fitting beautifully. Erin is a Miracle worker.  He did a beautiful job. His work is perfect; I could not believe how fast he installed the lights and also took the old lights and wires/cords down from on top of the hutch.  I have a switch now in back of the hutch to turn it on and off.  He took the time to make sure that I would not see the cord with certain attachments he had with him.  Amazing.  Everything was left clean.  They even put plastic down in front of the hutch when doing the work.  Erin explains things very simply so you can understand.  He is the best!  I will be having some lighting put in the house and some garage lighting to be done.  I will be using Trout Electric now; and,  will see Erin and Nathan.    Thank you again, Trout.....Erin and Nathan.

I hired this company after seeing their reviews. Hanna was very prompt in answering the phone calls and reminding of the schedule. Garrett, who came to do the job was extremely courteous and diligent. He was patient and knowledgable to explain things to me. He took care of a task that I had a hard time to explain and get done through other electrical companies. I wanted to have a new outlet and a connection from it to plug in the garden light. It was a complicated process to bring the conduit around to that area. But he did it in such a way that the final outlook was not bad at all. I expected that it might be a sore for the eye. But he did the best to hide the conduit as much as possible. It came out better than I expected. He also installed the Ring door bell and walked me through it and since the WiFi connection was weak he suggested what better way I can enhance its strength. When I had a problem with the WiFi extender, he came by to help me with it (even though I knew that was not the problem with the electric). He did the job meticulously. He also suggested ways to save money in the future. After 4 years of living in Lake Forest, I finally got an Electrician who is prompt and did the job as I expected.
When I noticed a problem with one of the installation, they came right away and took care of it. The attitude of all staff is remarkable. This is something very important to me.

The guys showed patients and great professionalism. They wore mask upon I meeting them at the door. They couldn't fix the pull chain to my old fan even when they ordered the same equivalent part from Harbor Breeze. The part from Harbor Breeze just didn't work with my out dated ceiling fan.

For our new home we just purchased, we needed to switch out the 6-50 plug in the garage to a 14-50 for car charging.  Aaron and Kenny were the techs that came out for the job and they were not just ordinary electricians.  They KNOW car charging and were very friendly, knowledgable, and professional.  

After assessing the power demands in the home, i.e. A/C units and oven, they gave their recommendation and quote.  We talked about different options with safety being top priority.  For instance, the current 6-50 plug (non-grounded 3 prong plug) has 8 gauge wiring.  In order to support the higher amperage load of a 14-50 plug (grounded 4 prong plug), they would want to swap out the wire for 6 gauge.  Unfortunately after they got started, they found that the 8 gauge wire was stapled inside the wall and could not be pulled out.  Alternatively, Aaron and Kenny were able to install the 14-50 plug, giving it its own dedicated circuit.  This was actually better because they were able to install the plug at the front of the garage where one would want the plug for rear car charging rather than front charging.  Plus with a garage wall dedicated to a sub panel, tankless water heater, solar system, water softener system, fire alarm, etc, what is one more plug?

The guys even went above and beyond to show and educate us on the whole-home surge protector and what we should do in the event of a brownout.  No question was too dumb and they seemed to enjoy answering all of our questions.

After Aaron and Kenny were done, we all made sure the cars were charging correctly and everything was working.  I highly recommend Trout Electric because of the quality of employees that showed up and did the work and the cost was most reasonable.

I called because I thought I saw sparks in an outlet. The person I spoke to on the phone said he happened to have had a cancellation that morning and there were techs in the area. Matt and Jeff came by within the hour and were professional, polite, efficient, and took great pains to be quiet while I was working in the same room, which I did not even ask them to do (I can handle noise, but we did not discuss it either way). They worked quickly, fixed the issue, recommended some extras fixes, and were on their way.

Landlady asked for a W9 as they were leaving. They did not know what she meant or why she thought they would have it (they were absolutely right), so I emailed the office. Again, a super-fast response with the proper forms the landlady needed and no questions asked.

From start to finish, everyone involved in fixing our issue from answering our first call to wonderful technicians to answering our last email was wonderful. Highly recommend. They deserve every start they have.

My power had been cutting off during the summer. Called them and they had diagnosed upgrading to 200 amp panel. Keep in mind that the stucco will be knocked down and need to pay and find someone else to patch it up. The install only took the afternoon to complete. Only thing you might need to do is to constant follow up to make sure they file your permit and mail to you on time so you can schedule with the city inspector. Everything else looks good!

Side note my board was fried due to previous licensed tech installing my EV outlet. He just installed it without proper wiring and not letting me know the power was not enough.

My backyard has some lanterns and a bbq island without power. It's been that way since we moved in. We finally decided it was time to look into getting it fixed. Found this company through Yelp and was impressed from the reviews. They actually have a person who handles scheduling and who booked me for the next available appointment including the names of their crew who would be coming to my house. They provided me a checklist of things I needed so I can have my charging station installed the same day. I've already done my due diligence on some of the items on their checklist including the building permits so it's essentially already a straight forward job order. Prior to the set appointment, I even receive 2 voice messages as a reminder of the scheduled installation. Collin and Matt arrived on schedule they even gave me a courtesy call 15 min prior to their arrival. Collin is very articulate in explaining what they are doing and how they would set things up. I was asked if I have any preference to the layout on how and where the charger will be installed but instead I left it up to their own discretion as to where it will practically and aesthetically fit or mounted. In short it was a job well done as you can see the following pictures. The city approved the installation in one visit. Overall it was a Job well done. Thank You Trout Electric! Looking forward for more projects ahead.

My knowledge of electricity is limited to Ohm's law and theoretical tensor mathematics... enough to stay out of trouble and lead to the prudent decision to hire a real electrician.

I needed to get a NEMA 14-50 outlet installed.  We had Trout over for a quote.  Apparently they had us marked and we had sucker written on our forehead.

They quoted $1040+, permit included.  Mind you, the electrical panel is immediately behind the wall.

With a little effort I found a quote about $400 cheaper from a c-10 licensed electrician who did a kick@ss job.

Granted, this is a free market and they can charge what ever they want.  But I don't have time for nonsense or time to waste on high ballers or contractors with Golden Screwdriver Syndrome.

Went to Yelp for electricians in Corona.  Trout had great reviews.  Called and office staff was exceptional.  Appointment was set up and Christian and Tyler came to my house.  I showed them what needed to be done, explained what they would do, told me price, and I put them to work.  Christian and Tyler were professional, neat, and did a fantastic job.  Office staff kept me informed, since Christian and Tyler had to make several house calls, of dates and time.  Could not be happier with their work and so happy to know that Trout is there when a problem arises.

In a new development the builders decided to put the 4 pin light bulbs in the recess lighting for the kitchen. They were good until the light bulbs died after 6 years. After looking up how to replace the bulb and realizing these are not readily available, I decided to switch them out for LED. Used Yelp to ask for a quote, received a fast response from the owner. He mentioned that those lights are a pain to change and quoted me $98 per light. They are busy so be prepared to wait a bit. Waited around 10 days before they came. Once they arrived they gave me the same quote but had to go to their warehouse to get the LED lights. That was the only downside is that they didn't have the lights with them. However they worked quickly and in about 3 hours I had brand new LED lights. They even cleaned up the place really well before they left. Overall I'm a satisfied customer who's happy to have a well lit kitchen.

Gil came out to give an estimate and was very informative and straight to the point.  We wanted our overhead lighting in the living room and kitchen installed in different places than the original installment.  Gil and Shane did a tremendous job and were very professional.  Felt like they were never there when they were working.  They also pointed us in the right direction to get the drywall fixed from the original install.  I highly recommend asking for Gil and Shane if using trout electric.  Awesome job and awesome guys!

Trout Electric upgraded my electrical panel from 100 to 200 Amps and installed a Tesla wall charger. I couldn't be happier with their service from start to finish. They wowed me at every step of the process. The owner Matt replied immediately to my request for a quote. Their professional and friendly service started with Katie the receptionist. She set up my appointment right away. Scott came over and gave me a quote that was very thorough. I was impressed with his assessment and recommendations. I received several bids from other local companies but there was no doubt that Trout Electric was the winner.  They handled the entire tedious permit process with the City of Pasadena. I received a call and a text from Katie reminding me about the appointment. Nice touch. Scott and his assistant showed up at 8 a.m. They worked diligently until about 8 at night.  And wow, they did such an amazing job! They left the entire work area super clean. They labeled all of the breakers, programmed the Tesla WiFi wall charger and gave me very clear instructions on how to use it. They also waited until I plugged in the charger to make sure it worked properly. I strongly recommend this company for any electrical work, especially panel upgrades and EV wall chargers. It's no wonder they're listed on the Tesla web site.

I am new to this whole EV (electric vehicle) world so I was unsure who to hire. Sure enough I checked out Yelp and did some research and spoke to a few prospective companies that I was to potentially trust with my home. I enjoyed Trout Electric's respectful stance. They did not make me feel like any of the questions I was asking were stupid. Quite the contrary, they educated me and took the time to explain the protocol and process. I met with Gil and Christian, both very approachable and well mannered. I could not be a luckier gal, I got to work with two great gentlemen and true professionals. My new Tesla wall charger looks and works great and Gil did phenomenal job. Christian is also a true sweetheart, very polite.

Note to any and all future prospective consumers, Tesla themselves recommended Trout Electric. Do your homework and ask - call Tesla yourself. Five stars all around. We got our brand new Tesla Wall Connector (w/ 24 ft. cord) installed by Scott and Noah from Trout Electric this past weekend and it was an awesome experience overall.

Scott and Noah arrived on-time and were extremely professional the entire time. I had initially only booked them to have them perform an estimate for the installation, but after they checked everything out and wrote up the quote, I was ok with the price. (Pro-Tip: if you mention either Yelp or their website promo, you get a slight discount, too) I signed the paperwork and they began immediately to install my brand new Tesla wall connector!

Even though they initially told me it would take about 90 minutes, the whole installation took about an hour. So that was pretty awesome that they worked pretty fast to get it installed. They even had to take photos of both the breaker box and the final installation because they have to send it to Tesla in order to keep records of the customer installations.

All in all, Scott & Noah did a superb job and I will definitely recommend them and Trout Electric in general to anyone looking to install EV chargers or simply any electrical work. Five * all the way!

We unexpectedly lost power to select outlets in our house, one of which supplied power to our fridge (which we had just stocked with food!) and we knew we were in trouble.  We were obviously very worried we would lose hundreds of dollars of food plus whatever the cost was to repair the issue. We started to search Yelp for electricians in our area but didn't have much hope for finding someone before Monday, as it was late Friday afternoon. We read the many Yelp reviews for different companies and decided on Trout. We reached out to Trout and they responded immediately AND were able to send someone out to us within two hours! The two men who came out to help were so polite and helpful and tried to figure out where the issue was. They ended up solving our problem and did it for FREE. They were quick, saved us hundreds of dollars and did it all before the weekend! 100% would use them again and am saving their contact for all future electric issues we may have in the future!

Trout was one of Tesla's recommended electricians to install the charger.  They did not give me an estimate over the phone like some did.  They wanted to come and see the place at no charge to give an estimate.  Fair enough.  I did make the appointment.  Today the company called to see if the crew could come early.  I was delighted that I got the call for the change of appointment time.  Colin & Matt came on time and looked at the set up, did some load calculations, and explained thoroughly what they were going to do and even educated us on the panel we currently have.  They gave a very fair installation quote and explained our other options.  Colin and Matt were excellent and did the job well as my husband and I watched them.  They were very neat and clean.  I would give them more than 2 thumbs up, if I had them :)

Trout was one of the companies listed by tesla as a local electrician for an outlet install. Very professionally run company, but price was high for what was essentially just putting an outlet through a wall an ev charger.  Further, the outlet they put in was upside down for the tesla charging cable. The tesla cable is shaped so that it is supposed to go down from the outlet with the ground on top. The company installed it going up. I understand there are lots of different electric vehicles, but I feel they should be aware of what the tesla cable looks like since it's such a common device. Also, the charge for permitting is a significant amount extra. I would shop around if I was to do it over again.

My fiancé and I were very pleased with the exceptional service. Garrett and his partner came by to give us a quote for a 240V. They were professional, helpful and knowledgeable. Assisted in searching for the appropriate car charger.
Installation took about half an hour. Garrett offered to come back and mount our charger for us at a later time, as we did not receive the screws with our charger initially.

Gil and Christian from Trout Electronic were absolutely amazing!!! Professional, courteous and extremely knowledgeable.
I had called several different electricians and they were either unable to fix my problems, unreliable or just flat out refused to work on my electrical issues. But Gil and Christian worked AND FIXED all outside electrical issues, including a complicated pool heater issue. I was a bit skeptical at first when I was told about the diagnostic service fee. But I am so thankful I paid for it. They fixed all of my electrical problems and didn't charge for anything else. It was definitely worth the money. This was my second experience with Trout Electric, and both were fantastic. Gil and Christian first installed my Tesla wall charger at the end of 2018 and were very friendly and easy to work with. Because it was an older home, they gave us some options and clearly outlined them, as well as letting us know which would be the safest and most reasonably priced for our needs. They did their work efficiently and everything worked great.

Fast forward to June 2020 and my Tesla app said charging was interrupted. After testing that my car was not the problem and flipping the breakers to try to reset it, I called them up. It was a Wednesday afternoon and even though they were lined up with customers they said I could be squeezed in at 7am on Friday, which was fantastic. The next day at 10am, I received a call saying they were ahead of schedule and could see me some time from 1-3pm that day. Even better!

When they arrived (within the quoted time window), both Gil and Christian greeted us like old friends (with proper COVID-19 social distancing and masks) since they remembered us and the work they did way back during the installation. Even though the problem seemed to have fixed itself after I flipped the breaker off and it reset when they turned it back on, they tested the charger itself to make sure there was nothing internally wrong with it and did some other tests. I was slightly embarrassed about calling for nothing, but Gil said it was no problem and walked us through the process of what to do if the same error happens again, including what to tell Tesla if it turns out to be a defective wall charger. They didn't charge me for the visit, even though I'm pretty far from their usual service area. I would definitely recommend Trout Electric and will use them again in the future!

This morning Aaron and Gil came out to advise us regarding Tesla charging options for our on order Model Y.  After listening to our driving habits, they recommended an appropriate solution and installed a NEMA 14-50 power outlet and a 20/40 quad to make room in the breaker to power the new outlet  and helped me order the Gen 2 NEMA Adapters we would need.  They also reminded us to call SCE to change our plan to reflect we now had a an electric car.  We were very impressed with their professionalism and courtesy.  We would highly recommend Gil and Aaron and Trout Electric.

I had a breaker that blew every time  we used the welder here on the dock.  I called Trout Electric and they had Mark & Matt out here the next day.  They looked at my welder and determined I needed a 125 amp breaker. We needed to install a Tesla Wall Connector (formerly High Power Wall Charger).  Our challenge was that we had only a 100 Amp electrical panel for our house and have plans for a solar installation in the near future.

Found Trout Electric from a few mentions on Yelp but the clincher was they were recommended by Tesla so we called and made an appointment to have someone come and look our situation over.

Gil showed up and talked with us to figure out exactly what we needed.  We figured that with the current 100A panel, we would come too close to maxing out the rated load on our panel and really needed a panel upgrade to accommodate the Tesla Wall Connector and our future solar plans.  We decided on a 200A panel upgrade along with a 50A NEMA 14-50 outlet in addition to the Wall Connector.  Additionally, we needed a conduit run across our garage space due to our garage setup.  With everything worked out, we set the installation date.

Several easy phone-calls were exchanged to arrange for coordination with our city and SCE to prepare for the job.

The day of installation arrived and Gil and Christian showed at the appointed time and had SCE there to shut us down.  Gil had informed us that the job was relatively simple and that the panel update, Wall Connector and NEMA 14-50 outlet would be done and the system (and our house) re-energized the same day.  They lived-up to that promise and we were with power by mid-afternoon the same day and had our Tesla connected and charging at home!

We will still need a few touch-up drywall work after the panel replacement but Trout has arrangements with some folks (Zeke) and the next day, Matt (the owner) called and helped with making the arrangements to finish things up.

So, a simple job was made even simpler by some good interaction, both with the electricians and with Trout's office, all of which made the job very painless.

Tesla did very well by recommending Trout for this work and we would not hesitate to engage them for any future electrical tasks we might need done.

Yesterday Gil and his team came over to install a Tesla wall charger and inspired so much confidence bc of his patience and genuine enthusiasm to explain how things were working that I quickly asked if he and his team do more than just tesla related work. Within minutes I was explaining some other projects and Gil and his team got to work, that same day, with transparent pricing and completed, correct work. I left feeling like I found a new electrician and worried about posting this review for fear too many people would want to work with Trout that I didn't want to share. Ha, but that wouldn't be fair.

First, let me say that I don't write a lot of reviews, but felt compelled to write this review to share my experience with Trout.  It's hard to find a trusted company these days, so yelp reviews are helpful.
Dalton and Colin arrived on time. They both wore a mask. They were respectable and very professional.  They wore shoe covers when they came into my house, which I really appreciated.
Diagnostic was fast...they figured out the issues and got right to it.
I thought their pricing overall was reasonable; it may seem pricy at first glance, but if you weigh the professional care you get, the one year warranty for the work, then you will realize it's worth it.
When I had a question about the service and pricing, Matt, the owner?  reached out to me very politely, to explain to me and address all my questions. Truly professional. Definitely will use them again.

In hopes of getting my Tesla Model 3 in the next week or so, I called some electricians to come out and give me a quote to install a NEMA 14-50 outlet.  

Trout Electric sent out Gil and Christian on a day a time that worked best for me. They were prompt and very professional. After looking at the current setup, they told me options that would be best for my request. They took the time to explain what was needed and how the job would be completed.

When we decided to use Trout  we were given days and times that would work for our schedule and did not have to wait a long time for the appointment.

Day of the appointment Gil and Chris were prompt and really did not take long to finish the install. They even cleaned the area where they worked.  Gil and Chris were very professional.

We would definitely use Trout for any future electrical needs.

Gil and Christian came over to install a Tesla wall charger for my Tesla 3 and also a new electrical panel. They were very professional throughout the entire job.

My house is older and has a couple of quirks that they had to work through: a lack of an attic fan, beams in weird places with weird spacing, etc.  They made sure to communicate various solutions to these problems to me whenever they encountered them.

They went above and beyond to get the job done and done right, even when it took a bit longer than expected because of the issues they had to work out. They also took extra time to clean up and label the circuits on the panel.

If i need to get any electrical work done (Tesla related or otherwise), they will be my first call.

Update: got my Ghost Rider Model X and plug worked perfectly. I also had an instal by a Tesla authorized installer in NV and it was 1/3 the cost of install in Cali. Tesla Club pages are saying most companies are price gauging in CA. Wondering if this is true and if anyone else has experienced a cost 3x more in Cali than elsewhere.

Highly recommended!! Calls were always returned within the same day. I had the pleasure of working with Gill who helped me install a Tesla Charger and upgrade my electrical panel.  During the initial consultation, Gill came (with a mask on) and explained everything in a way that was easy to understand.  I also greatly appreciated that he was able to fit me into his schedule on a Saturday.  Everything went smoothly and everything was finished within 2 weeks.  I will definitely work with them again in the future if needed.

Gil and Aaron overhead the conversation I was having with an associate at Home Depot regarding a breaker needed for my residential A/C unit (none of the hardware stores near me - including this and other HD locations - had the breaker in stock).

I was calling around for service and they initially booked me for a week from now.  So I told them that I will look elsewhere for an earlier appointment. A little later I received a call from Matt stating that he would be able to get my service done today. I booked my project with Matt and he and mini Matt did it the same day. I didn't have the correct breaker so they were nice enough to grab the right one for me. Shortly after the new breaker was installed and he made sure the equipment was working perfectly. I was doing some simple replacement of several of my GFCI outlets that were popping into the fault position and when completed, one of the GFCI's kept popping and triggering all of the others to pop as well. I was tired of trouble shooting, using all of my golf words and throwing my tools across the room in frustration. I sucked it up and called for some professional help.
I consulted YELP to find a highly rated electrician company to assist with what I could not figure out. Trout Electric was at the top of the list so I gave them a call. The young lady who answered the phone was nice and very helpful in securing an appointment for me for the next day.
Scott arrived with his apprentice promptly on time and proceeded to dissect the problem and come up with a solution. He was kind enough to show me where my mistake was but even with completing the job correctly, there was still an issue of all the GFCI's popping when power was restored.
When our house was built, who ever the contracted electrician was, wired the house in a not so standard way and put GFCI's all over the place. All of the GFCI's fed each other so when one failed, they all failed through out the house. Scott was able to isolate each circuit and make each GFCI independent from one another. That solved my problem and now all of our bathrooms are good to go.
Scott and his apprentice did an amazing job diagnosing the deeper problem that I could not resolve and did not take all day to do it. They were in and out in about an hour and a half. Thank you Trout Electric for the assist with my needs!

All the power outlets in 3 bathrooms just stopped working. These guys were relentless troubleshooting, traced down the failure and got power restored. Only took a couple of hours.

I needed to have a ceiling fan installed in my children's bedroom, Mike came out to give me a free quote, he was on time , very knowledgeable and was able to discuss with me how the service will be performed. I called to schedule the appointment and the front office was very good about sending a reminder text message. Dalton and his parter showed up at 2:58 for a 3-7 window. Already we were shocked because no one shows up early. They got right to work with an estimate. They gave us many options for the work we needed and made safety suggestions. When we decided we were shocked that they would do the work SAME DAY! Seriously?! They even made sure that our kids weren't online with school anymore so that they wouldn't be disturbed with a loss of power. They did a quality job, put everything where we actually discussed, left the area clean, and went over everything before they left. Great company. I got 6 quotes from Yelp. This company was by far the most professional. They had a pre-printed sheet of their services and costs, so there was no haggling or mystery about the charges. Some of the other companies just gave a top-of-the-head figure without anything in writing. This company also is the best at communication. They have a secretary who answers the phone and gives all messages well. They have an auto text message feature to remind you of appointments. I had some difficult repairs from 20-yr old rotting electric boxes as well as a cast iron 10-ft tall lamp post they had to remove. I am super happy with their work. And the guys were so friendly, kind, and respectful. They worked into the night to finish in one day.

Job: install 14-50 NEMA outlet in an underground parking lot for EV charging in a small apartment complex and coordinate with Santa Monica permit building and safety office & SCE.

After getting multiple bids on this job, Trout Electric convinced me to work with them due to their service record, specifically when doing EV charging installations for Tesla. Most importantly, Gil who was sent out to assess the job site was the most friendly and professional amongst the competition. His experience doing the installation of this type and interfacing with SCE directly were critical.

Gil and Chris were also the field electricians on this job once the plans were approved by the city - and they were absolute professionals along this whole process. I really enjoyed having continuity of my specific electrician for a job that required multiple job site visits.

A surprise caught us once they completed the work as it relates to some obscure code rule that the city failed to bring up before work began.

In other circumstances, this would have been a nightmare, but Matt and Katie at the main office were incredibly attentive and sympathetic to my situation. They corrected the issue very quickly after it was flagged: for no extra charge (!) - which speaks to their professionalism and their business ethics, despite the city and SCE screwing up the approvals process.

I am writing this as follow-up of a review I DIDN'T write earlier, but should have.

In August of 2016 (a year and a half ago), Trout Electric replaced and upgraded my electrical from the original panel that I had. At that time I was completely satisfied with their work and would have given them 5 stars.

This February, in 2018, I was moving some furniture that we had against the wall where they had worked, and discovered that the drywall had been cracked fro the outside. I sent an email with a picture of the damage to them and they responded right away, setting up and appointment to look at it. Matt went right to work repairing the wall and making things right.

I can highly recommend them, not just the fine work they did, but also for the great follow-up afterwards. I think that is the better test of a company. What happens when things go wrong.

LIFE SAVERS! My business lost power around 530 today, we open till 9pm. We had a full shop, two stations lost power, our reception desk lost power, AC shut off. It was horrific, two clients tried the breakers, my uncle came to help trouble shoot, no one was able to give me any kind of solution. All my barbers were booked back to back so we couldn't close shop, clients started helping us look for electricians at about 8pm. Some companies were hesitant to come out, others couldn't give us estimates on how much we were looking at to have them come out. I was losing a little hope.

At about 8:40 pm my last client calls Trout Electric, the gentleman on the phone was very clear on how much it would cost to come out, how much it would cost to trouble shoot and a ball park number at how much it could turn out to be. I have no idea why I told my client to tell them we would call back. I got my credit card out and called them right back, same gentleman was courteous and polite, told us they would be at our shop by 10pm. They got to us by 920pm, impressive.

In person Matt was very professional and helpful. He listened to what happened and went right to work. Back up came to help within minutes of arrival, I had no clue where the outside connections were but told them I thought it may be behind the building. Not once did they seem inconvenienced by my lack of knowledge which made me appreciate them that much more. When they came back from checking behind the building they said a fuse block had to be replaced and that unfortunately most places that sell those aren't open till Monday BUT that his contact can open his store for him to buy the piece tonight for an additional price. Considering my business is open 7 days a week and weekends are my prime business days I didn't hesitate. The guys went to pick up what was needed and even called me back when they got back to the building so I didn't have to wait there.

Everything was back to normal within 2 hours of arrival and that included going to pick up a piece about 30 mins away. I was so thankful I asked for more cards when they gave me one to call back if I had anymore problems. In my business referrals are the best compliment so all my clients will be hearing about this amazing company. They saved my business from suffering! I can't thank them enough, we will be posting their card all over our social media.

Thank you guys so much!!! You will definitely be my go to company from now on, with customer service and great work like this I know you'll be around for a long time.

I needed to have my RING Doorbell replaced. Camera failed. Out of warranty  and added a new surveillance camera. 2 days before my appointment someone called to verify my appointment and provided me with the name of the electrician  assigned to the job. My appointment was between 11 - 1. Mark showed up at 10 minutes to 11. He was very polite and listened to what I needed done. He made a few recommendations and had the camera installed and programmed within  an hour from the start of installation. It took a bit longer for the RING DOORBELL. Overall I was pleased with the job and will use  TROUT ELECTRIC again. The prices are fair and the employees  professional and reliable.

I had to call  TROUT ELECTRIC again because  one of the overhead lights in a bathroom went out. After replacing the bulb and other troubleshooting efforts it was time to call in a professional. The lady who answered the phone was very pleasant. She arranged for Matt to come over this afternoon between 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM. Matt showed up shortly after 1:00 identified the problem and replaced the fixture in less than 1/2 hour.

Short story: TRUSTWORTHY!

Long story: After becoming completely baffled with a DIY electrical project  (I swear I was doing everything right) I called Trout Electric.

A service man (forgot his name) came out, checked over my work, and determined things looked good.  I would need to pay 199 dollars for a service call and trouble shooting.  Fine.  I signed on the dotted line.

After checking the connections with an electrical meter and seeing that the wiring was done right he pressed the reset button on the gfi outlet.  He said now try it out.  

I plugged in my lights and we had power!

I swear I had done the same.  I just didn't  push the button all the way in! Damn.

I was ready to learn a valuable lesson and pay up.

The service man politely said there would be no charge for I had already done the work!  They could have easily taken the 199 and I was legally bound to pay.

Professional from the moment I called them. Live (not machine) friendly customer service on the phone. Noah and Kenny extremely punctual and understood my needs to install my new Tesla wall charger. My installation was harder and more time consuming then most, since my garage is at the furthest point from my electrical box. But these two kept their professionalism until the job was done. Even complying with my need to have the wall unit waist high so I don't have to raise my arms every time I charge my car. (My arms are usually sore from the gym-hehe).

Our lights where flickering and power was in and out. I went to yelp and messaged for a quote. Trout responded (on super bowl Sunday none the less) and a technician was out the next day.  They diagnosed the problem quickly and ended up we needed an entire new panel and upgrade.  They stayed until the job was done (7pm) and we were more than happy with the work and employees.  I can't speak for price as we didn't quote it out but as far as promptness and professionalism, 5 stars no doubt.  Thanks guys!!

Scott and another guy (Sorry I forgot his name) came over to our house this morning to give us a quote on installing Nema 14-50 adaptor for our Tesla Model 3. On Sunday evening, our power started to flicker throughout the house and our pool equipment quit operating. By early Monday morning, our home only had power in two rooms. I called Trout Electric at 8am on Monday, and they dispatched Mark and Matt to inspect our service. Mark and Matt arrived at 9:00am and began inspecting the electric service. After their inspection was complete, it was determined that we needed to replace our breaker box and breakers. Mark provided an estimate on the spot, which we approved and they started working to rectify our issue. Mark and Matt remained professional during the entire installation, cleaned up the demo debris and walked us through the new equipment operation. We highly recommend Trout Electric, Mark and Matt. Gil and Scott came back out for a 2nd project. Schedule was full until the end of the year but they were able to squeeze me into the end of their busy day this past Tuesday.
I had some backyard string lights that I had installed under some backyard sails but needed power to them.
They had quoted me a price and given me a estimate after the 1st job. Job cost was as stated with no funny business.  
They were able to install a control box and conduit in about 35 minutes.
Once again, they are very efficient, professional, and timely.
They also clean up after themselves and leave the area cleaner than when they arrived.

Matt and Christian came out to replace a bathroom fan. They put in a brand new Panasonic with great suction power. They did a professional job. They were kind and courteous. Trout Electric came to my rescue!!!  I had a smoke detector that suddenly began draining batteries.  It didn't give the typical chirp warning.  I came home to it blaring like there was a fire on Friday night so I put a new battery in.  It went from silent to blaring again while I was asleep on Saturday.  Luckily I had extra batteries to shut it up but it wrecked my nerves so badly I couldn't fall back asleep for 3 hours.  

I began calling electricians on Sunday morning desperately hoping to find someone to come out because I didn't want to be startled in the middle of the night like that again!  Another company said they would come on Sunday but then cancelled. I tried calling others but since it was Sunday most didn't answer.  Matt answered and said he was pretty booked but could get someone out on Monday.  He gave me an estimate over the phone which was much better than what some others were quoting.  

Mark and Kenny arrived in the time window Matt gave me.  They were both very friendly, neat, and cleaned up after themselves.  They went above and beyond.  Mark educated me on how to properly maintain the detectors like spraying them monthly with those cans of air so the sensors continue to work properly.  Kenny noticed a missing outlet cover that I misplaced when I painted and replaced it at no extra charge. They also provided a referral for drywall and paint.  I can't say enough good things about them.

I called Trout Electric earlier this month, but they said the soonest that that could come would be 2 1/2 weeks. Daulton and Kolin the 2 electricians showed up at the time they promised. We showed them what we needed done which was to hang a ceiling fan, install 2 new light fixtures and repair a GFI that was not working. They gave us a fair price and completed the work in a timely manner. They brought in plastic sheeting to protect our floors and cleaned Both electricians were friendly and explained everything they were doing. We are pleased with their service! Thank you!

Working with Trout was like a textbook case of professional, reasonable, friendly interaction.
A pleasant-sounding lady answered my first call and scheduled an estimate visit, which was free of charge.  At the scheduled time, Mark Going and Colin came, discussed my need (to install a porch light fixture), explained exactly what the job would entail, and gave me an estimate.  It was exactly the same as other ones I had received via phone calls, but they took the trouble to preview the work in person.  The estimate was certainly reasonable.  We scheduled a time to perform the work.

A day before the scheduled time I received a verification call from the office.  Mark and Colin came on time, performed the work very quickly and efficiently, had all the parts and tools required, and didn't mind the fact the I hung around asking them questions--such conversations with professionals are an excellent opportunity to learn.  After completing the work they cleaned the area (they had a vacuum cleaner, along with the other tools), and left the place looking exactly as they had found it.

The whole experience, from beginning to end, proceeded the way one hopes such experience would proceed.  At no point did I feel rushed or pressured to buy extra equipment or services that I didn't need. At no point did I feel uncertain about their expertise or the information they provided.

**Clear communication & streamlined scheduling**
I exchanged a few emails with Matt so that he could better understand the work, and his responses were very polite and prompt. We decided to proceed with the job, and the next day a kind representative called to schedule an appointment. I was in no rush to get the job done since I wanted to get quality work, as well as my location being outside their usual service zone, so my appointment was scheduled several weeks out. I received a call two days before to quickly review and confirm, and a text the day before to remind me of the appointment.  Both of which I really appreciated.

**Quality Work**
Matt, and his partner, Matt, arrived within the appointment window. I needed a NEMA 1450 installed to charge my Tesla, and they were very knowledgable on what needed to be done. They clearly shared the plan of action and promptly finished the work in half the quoted time. After, they did an inspection of my electric panel, and identified errors from the previous electrician. Before proceeding, they provided options, and raised any potential risks, to fix the issues. I have had dozens of contractors visit my home, and Trout Electric is by far the best service professional I have encountered.

**Fair Pricing**
In my particular case, Matt found ways to lower my bill without sacrificing service and quality.  For example, he found existing conduit that sufficed to get the job done, saving time, money, and headaches. With Trout Electric's honest, cost-saving approach, the final bill was a fraction of competitors' pricing and well within my expectations.

Matt was able to squeeze me in the next morning for the estimate and offered to do the job right then and there.  Definitely top notch and I'm very happy with his work and professionalism.  Super nice guy too.

Maybe just train the receptionist or work out another system so that clients, like myself, aren't told they have to wait 2 weeks for an estimate.

Our technicians were friendly.  They always called ahead and were mostly on-time.  But I cannot recommend this company because of poor attention to important details and a general attitude of doing whatever to get the job done rather than getting the job done well.

I'll start with the big problem.  They ran conduit that had to pass through exterior walls.  They didn't seal _any_ of the places where it penetrates the walls.  In other words, they left gaping holes on the exterior of my house.  Holes in walls, leaving the walls vulnerable to water intrusion and thus future mold and rot problems, and holes in vents so critters could get under the house and wreak havoc.  Luckily I knew better and recognized their shoddy work.  Less knowledgeable home owners would have ended up paying tens of thousands of dollars some time in the future once their walls had filled with black mold.

When I asked them about it, they were blase and made excuses about how it didn't really matter.  Yeah I guess gaping holes in my walls and vents aren't a big deal.  I mean, when does water ever get on an exterior wall?  And mouses never attempt to get under a warm, cozy house in the winter.  Silly me.  I'll be sure to tell every other contractor and home inspector that caulking and sealing your home is a waste of time.

Second problem; they didn't caulk any of the exterior light fixtures they installed for me.  Again, water intrusion risk.  It says right on the instructions of the light fixtures to caulk them with a clear silicone caulk.  Takes two minutes.  I had to do it myself because I'm the one who ends up paying to rip out and replace the moldy walls a few years down the line.

The overarching issue is that the technicians would always opt to do things the easy way rather than the right way.  There was no reason to run that conduit I mentioned on the exterior of the house, where it becomes an eye sore.  It should have been routed through walls.  But they didn't want to put in the effort.

I asked them to install a light switch by expanding an existing box to a double gang.  Instead they gave me excuses and told me it was easier to just put another single gang next to it.  Is that easier?  Sure.  But it looks worse.

On top of all this, they are _expensive_.  So why pay all this money for average workmanship?

I think the problem stems from them charging a fixed rate for their work, rather than charging hourly or something more flexible.  That might sound look a good idea at first, for the home owner.  It always sounds nicer to know how much something is going to cost ahead of time, regardless of what issues might arise during the work.  But it also means they are incentivized to finish the job as quickly and easily as possible, rather than doing a good job.

Contrast this with my new electrician who charges hourly, regardless of the work.  His attention to detail was _amazing_.  Making sure to straighten out outlets and aligning the plate screws so they look aesthetically pleasing.  It's little, rather unimportant things, but it means he pays attention to his job and goes the extra mile.  So I feel more confident that an electrician like that will also pay attention to the _important_ details.  You know, like sealing holes in my walls...  And despite charging hourly, they end up cheaper than Trout's estimates for the same work.

I hate to be so harsh on Trout.  The techs were friendly and I don't want to come off as judgemental.  But I care about my house, and most importantly I care about my finances.  I'm not keen on little mistakes that could result in huge repair bills down the line.

On top of all that their work wasn't completely up to code and I had to have another electrician fix that.  (It wasn't anything dangerous, but it's something an inspector would throw up on if they were inspecting my panel).

My advice?  Find someone else.

Trout Electric is the preferred installer for Tesla wall chargers. I found them in Tesla's website. They are pricier than other places, but they do it the way it's supposed to be done. I originally got my charger installed by a cheaper place, but as with all cheaper places, they cut corners and don't do it right. Unfortunately, the electrical in your home is probably the last thing you want to go cheap. As with anything, you get what you pay for, and Trout Electric is a good example. I highly recommend them, especially if you're getting a Tesla wall charger installed.

I wish I could give Trout Electric 1000 stars. They were by far one of the best companies I've ever had to do business with. Scott & Dalton were AWESOME! We bought a new house and had to replace our electrical panel in preparation for eventually installing a second AC unit upstairs. Since we were doing that we decided to do all of the other stuff on our wish list - replaced all of the light switches/dimmers, replaced all of of the outside lights (8), replaced exhaust fans in all bathrooms, and had ceiling fans installed in all of the bedrooms (there were no existing ceiling light fixtures so they had to do everything associated with that). Pretty sure we had a few other things done as well but can't think of it at the moment. From the second Scott and Dalton showed up to quote the job, I was super happy and impressed with their knowledge and professionalism. When they were out quoting the job, I asked a couple of other questions related to the pool lighting that stopped working two days after escrow closed and the pool equipment. They took a look and fixed it right then and there and showed us what the problem was. We told them we had a couple of other companies coming out to quote the job but would be in touch. We called them like 30 minutes after they left and scheduled the work. Even if we hadn't had two previous and terrible companies come out and quote us, we probably still would have instantly called them back. Seriously, we spent a small fortune overall on this job but I couldn't be happier. PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND JUST HAVE THEM COME QUOTE  YOUR JOB. You won't regret it!

I saw their nice looking vehicle in my neighborhood so I thought I would give them a try.  Garrett stopped by on time, and jumped right into troubleshooting my door bell that for some reason was not getting power to my Ring Video Doorbell system.  He and another employee didn't stop until the problem was solved - even calling Ring support to make sure it was working properly.  The pricing was great and the service was amazing.  Would definitely recommend, and I will be using them from now on.

Garrett at Trout Electric easily and successfully installed a 240v outlet in my garage for my Tesla. They did it in less than an hour and took care of the city permit. Ok why I didnt make this call eariler is beyond me. Mostly because everytime I need a plumber or electrician we get royally screwed. But nope not this time. This time Trout is going into my speed dial. Namely Gil and Scott. Holy crapballs these two were like wizards. First off my pet peeve is service people not being on time. My time is valuable but Gil n Scott.....right on time AND a courtesy call before they showed up which was early in my time frame. They are super courteous and really careful with my vintage fixtures which no one else seems to give two craps about. They went above and beyond and Ive gotta say in todays world I truely appreciate it because thats a rarity. If I need electrical work again and can request my workers it would be Gil n Scott they really are the two best things since sliced bread! Highly recommend!!

About 10 days ago some of my outlets gave out on me and I had no idea why. I looked on yelp and called Trout Electric right away, I was given an appointment. John and Noah were amazing! They came right on time and were very thorough with the work. We had 3 smart switches, a smart thermostat, and 2 Nest fire alarms installed. I got the battery Nest fire alarms by mistake and John let me know. They were nice enough to wait while I ran out to get the right kind. The switch in the garage was awful and they did an amazing job fixing it up. We were so impressed with them. They were really nice guys. These guys are awesome. Our air conditioning unit stopped working this weekend and it was 110 degrees in Corona. I called the air conditioning company who installed the unit, and even though it is under warranty, they couldn't send anyone out for 3 days. I called Trout Electric right away because I knew it was an electrical issue and they send someone out in the matter of hours. Garrett and Eli did a awesome job and they were able to figure out that the air conditioning company wired the unit incorrectly. They fixed the wiring in no time and now our unit us running perfectly. I highly recommend using these guys.

Update from previous review.... some how the owner contacted my husband concerning a review that was written (negatively).... they got to talking and my husband explained why we were so turned OFF by their service... to make a LONG story short, owner mailed us a check for the troubleshooting charge ($199.00). I truly hope you will take the time to read this review in its entirety.  I had family coming into town on a Thursday.  I received a call from my bride of 26 years and she informed me that the AC in the main house and the AC, fridge and have the lights were not working in the guest house.  I finished work and made it home by 8:30 pm that night.  I grabbed a headlamp and a voltmeter and began diagnosing the issue.  Shortly after 10 pm I informed my bride (of 26 years!) that I had no idea what was wrong.  She was justifiably upset as we now had no where for our guest to stay.  I began a search on yelp for electricians in Norco.  I found a company called Trout that had good reviews so I called.  I was connected to a gentleman named Matt.  I explained the situation to him and he let me know that he didn't have anyone available for the next day but to my surprise he asked me to facetime him so we could fix it right then.  Please remember is is now well past 10 pm!  At 11:45 we found the problem and he talked me through a fix!  Who does that?  Amazingly when I asked how much I owe him, he simply said he wanted to help and I owe him nothing?????  Never before have I had this generosity, NEVER!!!!  To make is even more of an amazing experience, Matt called me the next day to make sure that it was still working and asked if I need any additional help??  Seriously, who does that these days?  I came to find out later that Matt is actually the owner?!?  Completely blessed by him.  He left my wife in tears and me in shock.  He took the time to care for a random customer late in the night.  I am indebted to him and he now has a customer for life.  Since that time, all of two days, I have told 6 additional teachers friends of mine and used this experience to instruct my students on the integrity in business. Impeccable work, great customer service & very very punctual! Gil & Scott rang the doorbell 10 min before our consultation appointment & a couple of hours before the installation appointment, ready to do the permanent install instead of just the temporary fix. Only talked to Matt on the phone but I am amazed @ how well & swift they got things done, including the meter spot  (although it helped that already got In touch with Edison before I even called them) & getting the city permit. The electrical technicians that came to my house, Gil and Scott, were professional and knowledgeable. They treated me like family. I could tell that they were genuinely interested in making sure they did the job exactly to my liking. They replaced 2 ceiling fans, installed a new ceiling fan, replaced a chandelier, installed electrical/charging outlets next to my bed at bed height. They also did miscellaneous small electrical fixes. I'm glad I used this highly rated electrician. It doesn't pay to use anything less. Thanks guys for a job well done!

My previous review (which is now deleted) was negative about Trout Electric. However, after I posted the review we promptly received a phone call from the owner, Mr. Matt Trout. He was very kind and apologetic . He told my husband that he would send his electricians back to our house to assess the problem with our wall heater thermostat and that there would be no charge. The guys returned to our home and within 30 minutes the problem was detected and the repair job was completed. There was no charge for their work. We are very happy once again with Trout Electric. Been meaning to post something positive about these guys but just haven't had a chance to until now. They installed an outlet for our outdoor TV and quoted us on some other bigger jobs we needed done eventually. Man, these guys were awesome! Sincere, honest, straight to the point. You can tell they know their stuff and committed to their word/schedule. The job was even clean and professional. He made sure I was satisfied before leaving. Even gave us some tips about our electrical box and told us the shady work that was done from a previous (unlicensed) electrician. Had he not noticed, our house wouldn't have been up to code or in flames by now.  Phew! Love that they take care of their customers, even small time jobs like us residential home owners. I called Trout Electric based on all the wonderful Yelp reviews and was so happy that I did! They have the best reviews because they really are the best.
I recently just moved into the area and needed ceiling fans installed, light fixtures, and trouble shooting with an electrical socket. Matt was able to schedule me in quickly and was happy when they showed up on time. Matt and Mark were super helpful, clean, and quick. Super knowledgeable and very professional, but still very open and easy to talk to about any concerns that I had.

A big thank you to Trout Electric, and especially Christian and his able assistant.  We called them to have the 100 amp breaker replaced, and Katie initially suggested an appointment a week away, but when I explained that we were without power, she immediately worked around their schedule to fit us in at 4pm.  However, rather than 4pm they actually arrived at 2pm and proceeded to evaluate out 60 year old panel, and concluded that it needed to be replaced.  Well, they diligently worked straight through till 8pm to restore power to our home.  It is really a pity that Christian's wiring is covered up by the panel cover, it was truly a work of art.  This morning, Christian dropped by because rain was in the forecast and he wanted to seal off the panel from the elements. They were at all times highly professional. Not only do I highly recommend them, but I expect that we'll be calling on them for future projects.

Matt is a true professional. He's done multiple jobs on my personal residence including a new panel upgrade and rewire. He's also worked on my rental properties and never with a problem. I've been using Matt for over 5  years and I am truly thankful that I found an honest electrician and prides himself on customer service. It's so hard to find reputable sub-contractors, but Matt is definitely in the top tier. I've recommended him to friends and family. These guys were recommended to me by the Tesla dealership to install the charger for my car.  From the get-go Scott and Kenny were great.  They were prompt, very hard working, knowledgeable and just nice down-to-earth guys.  They took care to install the wiring for my charger in the least intrusive way, as well as being conscientious of the structural integrity of my home (they had to go through attic, walls, etc.).  They explained everything out to me and was so patient answering my many questions.  They even looked at a couple other electrical issues I had, explaining to me what my options were.  When I'm ready to tackle those other electrical projects, I know who I'm hiring.  Thanks guys!

I rarely write yelp reviews, but for something really good, i dont mind spending time to write one. Earlier this evening, our fuse overloaded and we dreaded the possibility of not having power all night especially when we have an 11 month old baby. Spoke to Matt and he was able to send Gil to help us. Scheduled time was 10pm but Gil came around 9pm. He was very professional, courteous, knowledgeable, honest, and easy to talk to. I mean, i always had doubts about some companies trying to get more money out of their clients, but I could tell that these guys are not one of those. Today was the fourth job that I have had Trout Electric do for me in less than a year. Kenny worked all day creating an electrical plug for my new microwave . He had to run a line from the breaker box beside the garage all the way to the back of the house. As usual he and Scott reported ON TIME and did an excellent job. They left my house CLEANER than it was when they arrived! They were polite, efficient, and friendly. Every step was explained thoroughly BEFORE they commenced working.
While there was a need to make several holes in the drywall, the pieces were replaced neatly. I am not worried at all that the damage will be covered perfectly by the dry wall repairman, Zeke, since he was referred by Trout on the last two jobs. When he leaves, you cannot tell any repairs were done!
Do yourself a favor. If you need any electrical work done-- especially any really involved jobs-- skip all the estimates and call Matt right away. They are worth waiting for, and their prices are fair and competitive. You will not be sorry!

First time did a great job on Tesla charger (permits, 220V plug, electrical panel update, etc). They were so good, booked them again to replace the ballast in two bathrooms with lcd lights, trouble shoot electrical issues and fix a whole host of outlets. Again did an awesome job. Garrett, Mark and Dillon did an outstanding job of installing all the electrical and supporting hardware for four fans in my upstairs bedroom and a pot rack in the kitchen.

These guys were punctual, friendly and did excellent work. They left my house just as clean as when they arrived.

They did some extra troubleshooting at no charge and provided me with some recommendations and additional quote for work.

I will definitely be calling these guys back to have the recommended work done and all my future electrical needs.

Amazing company to work with! I recently purchased a home and have been doing little projects here and there. For the bigger stuff I've been hiring contractors and yesterday I had a painting contractor out to paint 2 extra bedrooms upstairs. While resurfacing a wall in one room, they had plugged in an air compressor and blow dryer which blew something and the power to part of my house went out. We checked the breakers and GFI outlets but to no avail. I sent out a request on yelp for quotes this morning for someone to come out and assess the situation ASAP. Trout was the first to say they'd have someone out and a technician showed up at 4p. He checked the breakers and determined those were fine so we came inside and within a few minutes he figured out the problem and boom, problem solved! I can't tell you as a new homeowner how good it feels to get great service from true professionals and the relief knowing it wasn't something crazy that would cost me thousands to repair. If you're ever in need of great licensed electricians, make sure to give these guys and gals a call.

I have an industrial scanner/copier in my home office that kept tripping the breaker. I called a few places on yelp and the majority of them couldn't come out and assess what I needed to alleviate this problem.

I called up Trout electric and they were able to assess the situation over the phone on how to resolve it with the least amount of damage possible. They ended up running a dedicated line through the attic above the garage and into the home office directly from the main panel. The new outlet handles the voltage needed for my machine with ease and all at an affordable price. I highly recommend Trout Electric and enjoyed their professionalism.

They came and gave me an estimate to install a charger for my Tesla model 3. Unfortunately they weren't able to install due to the apartment complex I live in's hardware. Garret, the supervising technician spent 30 minutes working with maintenance and calculating trying to figure out how to make it work for me without any luck. Garrett is extremely professional and will do whatever he can to help you. They even waived the fee for me. No complaints, excellent service! I had called them to install a NEMA 14-50 plug in my garage. All I can say is that everything went very smoothly. Appointment was scheduled between 9-11AM on a Friday, and they showed up right at 9AM and got right to work and they were done a little past 11AM.

I had a few electrical outlets that were not working.  I had tried to flip the breaker back on a few times and the breaker wouldn't stick.

I looked on Yelp and YP to find good reviews on an electrician and found Trout Electric.  I gave them a call and they were at my front door in a couple of hours.  They explained to me their fee to look into the problem beyond just looking at it.

They found that my panel was burnt and that my panel was not UL listed due to age.  They explained to me the repairs needed to get me to code and gave me the cost.

They explained to me that the repair would be covered by my home owners insurance and assured me that they would help me submit the claim.

The work they performed was very good.  The box and the wiring look great.  They got my electrical up to code including all the proper grounding.

They referred me to a stucco guy who came buy and repaired the stucco the next day.  He did such a good job that you can't tell that there was any work done other than the new electrical box and mast.

The day after that the city came out and approved the work and signed the permit.  He made the comment that Trout did a good job and everything looked great.

As far as the Homeowner insurance goes, it has been a little like pulling teeth with the insurance company trying to get answers.  However, Matt Trout, the owner of Trout Electrical has been working hard calling my insurance company and explaining to them the extent of the repairs and the reason for the repairs.  He has called them as much as I have and has followed through with updates.  It's great to have a company who will stand by their work and their words and be such a strong advocate even after you have paid them.

With the great workmanship and outstanding customer service, I would strongly recommend Trout Electric to friends, family, and strangers.

These guys are great!  I highly recommend this company to anyone who needs a great electrician. I had the new ring video door bell pro installed. But I needed a actual existing doorbell. They didn't B. S me. They were actually able to find the doorbell system in my walls and hooked it up perfect. A few weeks later I used them again to mount my 75' inch TV in my living room . We needed a plug installed in our garage for our model 3 Tesla that we just received after waiting 2 years on the waitlist. They sent 2 very professional, knowledgeable and friendly electricians over that not only answered all my questions, but they also did a seamless job in placing the outlet and leaving the work area spotless and clean. They were very thoughtful in even asking me to move out our other car from the garage so that they would not drop anything on it or scratch it by mistake while they were working.  They checked to make sure that our electrical unit capacity was safe for installing this extra appliance to our house.  Very thorough and great communication with how close they were to arriving at our home.  Couldn't have asked for better service! First of all , Trout was my selection because someone actually answered the phone when I called. The others attempts was directed to voicemail.

Electrician came on time, and pleasant and the work performed was good.

Just be warned for those on a tight budget, their going flat rate is $199.00 for a basic troubleshoot and fix. The electrician fixed my issue within 15-20 minutes.

Steve is a very professional, friendly and honest person. He did a great job went out of his way to do the least cuts into the dry wall. he gave us a referral to a drywall specialist  ,Trout is not the cheapest if you are looking for a cheap electrician. It is all about Quality and Safety. Steve installed the base and a box for our 103 LBS chandelier. he had his vacuum machine and cleaned  when he was done.

These electricians from Trout Electric (Scott and Noah) were great.   I had a problem with my GFI outlets in my garage which were tripping out multiple times this week due to overload from my water heater, refrigerator and water softener.   While the tripping problem did not occur while they were inspecting it, they were very knowledgeable about how these GFI outlets work and offered me advice on how to prevent these GFI outlets from tripping out in the future.   I give Trout Electric 5 stars for being knowledgeable, honest and professional.  Best of all, they did not charge me for the consultation. I will definitely call them back if the issue arises again.  I highly recommend!

These guys are awesome!!! I called them last minute right before 4th of July weekend. They fit me in the next day, and arrived on time to replace the electrical disconnect box for my AC. They also helped me troubleshoot an issue with my AC and had everything up and running in no time. The owner Matt is personable, friendly and super knowledgeable! And they have great pricing as well. By far the most professional and efficient electricians in the Southern California Area! GARRETT and MARK are truly Master Electricians. They located the problem immediately and knew the best way to resolve the issue. An it was definitely a big problem. The entire panel needed to be replace. My house is almost 45 years old so it was definitely overdue.

Whenever your dealing with contractors or home improvement techs you always get this feeling that you could get cheated or they could add more problems to your existing ones to pump up the bill. Not With Garrett and Mark. Super Honest and definitely No Non Sense type Electricians is what you get.

We had a different electrician come in the day before an he pretty much gave us the classic run around. He was charging us the same amount we paid with Trout as his plans was to only change a couple breakers plus the installation of a separate line which is for our electric charge station for the car. An to make things even worse that electrician didn't even want to relocate the charger to our comfortable desired location.
Not with Trout Electric though! Garrett and Mark made sure to let us know they can locate the charge station anywhere we want! They rerouted that line exactly to the location we wished for! An like I said earlier that their Master Electricians you could also add Masters at Carpentry to the list! They made our charge station look better than the ones you would see at the MALL!

I thought with the huge job they had to overcome at my house, it would of took at least a 8-10 hour job. Not with these guys, they got it done it less than 4 hours. Fast, really clean and neatly done. Super efficient!
No Non Sense and the definition of true Professionalism!

So if you unfortunately happened to have any electrical issues in your house big or small Do Not Hesitate to call Trout Electrical!

We had to put in a lot of new light fixtures and some fans to make our old house current. We also wanted the job done right. We called Trout Electric to come out and give an estimate. They were very reasonable and very friendly and very straightforward. There was no up selling. Mark came and did our estimate and he was also the one that did our install. This was going to be an all day job, so they booked Mark from 8 till 5. When Mark got here we showed him where we needed the fixtures, ceiling fans and two exhaust fans. Mark was very friendly and professional. He was also fast and tidy. My wife and I were so surprised how quickly he got the lights and fans up. He also was very neat in cutting the dry wall to connect the exhaust fans. He also cleaned up everything and put all our old stuff by our trash cans. Mark was awesome, defiantly above and beyond customer service. Thank you Mark and Trout Electric for a great experience and a new look to our house.

Tesla owners beware. If you need a 240v outlet installed do not mention you need the outlet for a Tesla because you will be charged a ridiculous amount.  My contact at Tesla advised me of this after they've received numerous complaints.  I too read the 5 star reviews and decided to schedule an appointment for a quote.  Now to test these guys I did mention I needed the outlet for a Tesla.  So one of the companys technician came by my house and after looking around and taking some measurements quoted me $3,500 to install a simple 240v outlet.  Yikes, the fact that this company was on Tesla's website just means they took a basic online course on Tesla's products and nothing more and for that they get to be listed on Tesla's website. The growing Tesla market is very lucrative and these guys will take advantage and hustle you for some serious money.  The technician even confesed that all their Tesla customers called for their service only after they already had posession of the car; not a very smart move.  Honestly, it's best to call a company not listed on Tesla's website as it is a very simple install and should not cost you more than a few hundred dollars, definitely not $3,500.

On Aug 31, 2013. I called this service because someone stole my main breaker in my circuit panel overnight. I asked them for a quote to see how much it'll cost for them to come to my property (in city of Chino) and install a new main breaker. They quoted me at $600.00 just to install a main breaker?!?!? WAY OVERPRICED!!! I went on Craigslist and looked for an electrician and they did it for $115 installed (parts and labor) in an hour. This company might have good feedbacks from previous customers, but they surely scared me right off the bat with their up-front quote.

Trout Electric came out to my rental on Monday morning after I spent the previous night calling several electricians ....none of whom answered the phone. There loss is my gain. Matt and Tyler were very helpful when they gave my house a panel upgrade in 2011. They were not the cheapest quote for the job but, they do quality work. I wanted several electrical services,in my 1976 home. Placement of wiring and placement of 3 ceiling lights to wall switches. A ceiling fan installed on a sloped ceiling and wired to wall switch. Another ceiling fan replaced and several outlets changed d/t not holding plugs. These guys are professional, courteous and friendly. We agreed on a price which I feel was competitive. I asked a lot of questions which were answered in detail and with patience. I was advised about electrical safety and the reason I shouldn't bend plugs to stay in sockets. ( It can disrupt the electrical flow and cause an arch, which can cause a fire.) I had outlets that had burns on them. We discussed the different type of bulbs and the cost to run them.  I was instructed how to use my ceiling fan remotes. (because I insisted they also be connected to wall switches,)  how to save the remote sensors from being harmed. We also discussed Edisons tier program and how led lights use much less electricity, while giving out more lumens but using less wattage and they run cooler. They also took a look at my pool lights per my request. I learned a lot from them.
I am so happy that they brought light into my life and educated me about electrical safety.
I would recommend them to anyone looking for quality and reasonable electrical work.
I will definitely use them for any future needs.

Trout Electric, I needed a nema 14/50 wall plug installed for my wife's new Tesla, but found out I needed to upgrade our electrical box from 100 amp to 200 amp. Crap. The good news Trout Electric did a great job.
Gil & Scott did the work, they removed the existing box and placed a new 200amp box in its place. Very clean installation. The guys were very personable and took great care in there work. The second part to the installation was that I needed to get my wall fixed. Zeke came out to fix the hole in my wall from the installation. Picture your outside wall of your home with a hole to the studs, ok how is this going to get fixed the right way. Zeke's your man, he did excellent work - the right way. Everything ways in stages. Placing the felt, screen, brown coat  right to the spraying of the stucco. The finish product looked as if was original- perfect!

If you own a Tesla, you dont just jump the gun with any electricians. You have to research and seek prolific work. My hat goes off to Gil and Christian. Laudable effort gents!!! I had originally obtained a quote last November and my brother got one job done last year and advised the experience was great. Personally, I was fortunate enough to work with Gil both times. On site quote was haggle free and pressure free, complete professionals! Super polite and friendly gentlemen. Not to mention, Gil is hilarious! When it came down to business it was pristine. Katie Shaw was a key element in coordinating everything and Gil was the stud of the entire project. Mind you, my family and I did two separate installations at two of our homes. As a paying consumer I know what to expect and with Trout Electric it was amicable, professional, and respectful. I would most definitely allow them to earn my business for a third project!

Yelp reviews have never been my thing, but the treatment I received from Matt and Garrett at Trout Electric compelled me to share my outstanding experience. I needed to set up a charger for my Tesla and Matt informed me that all I really needed was a special adapter, not a re-wiring job that would cost a ton more money and require permits, etc. My situation was a rare case and he could have easily convinced me I needed a more expensive solution to setting up my charging, but that is not his style. He was honest, professional, and incredibly helpful. The next day when the adapter I bought on my own wasn't working correctly, Trout sent Garrett out within an hour to help me figure out what I had done wrong. I compare this with my experience with the other electrician in the area listed on the Tesla website and it is night and day. The other EV charger installer was impossible to get a hold of either by phone or email. I actually reached out to them before Trout but gave up since they were such a pain in the ass to deal with. I will be using Trout Electric for all my electrician needs in the future, and I suggest you do the same.

The buyer's inspector needed repairs to be done by a licensed electrician by 5pm on Monday and Trout Electric sent two guys out the same day at 1pm.  They repaired and replaced everything that was on the inspectors list in time. They did a thorough check of my house inside, outside, and in the attic. Found several items that were obviously in need of repair and were able to show me exactly where the problems were and fixed them also for a reasonable price. We recently found outdated electrical wiring in our house.  The electricians found it was old knob and tube spliced into 2 other kinds of wiring, so we hired Trout Electric USA to rewire and make our home safe.  Matt was so nice and worked out an affordable deal for us.  They came and did the job quickly and were very courteous and kind, even helped us put up new light fixtures and made the place look beautiful.  Excellent company!  Recommend them highly!  They are really the best.

I have been using Trout for a few years now and they are the best by far!! The owner Matt took my call on a holiday weekend recently and is always super nice and accommodating. Garret and Dillion have taken care of all my electrical needs both large and small jobs. I am pretty handy with DIY projects but stay away from anything electrical. Garrett is super nice and very patient will all my questions, concerns and his work of course is stellar. This last time I needed a new outdoor light fixture installed but the base was slightly larger than the one it was replacing. Dillion carefully shaved a small amount of the edge of a faux wood shingle so the light fixture would fit flush on the wall. He even touched up the paint on the shaved area and it looks perfect. Garret had recently fixed my GFI over kill (had too many GFI's allover my house and they were arguing with each other) and now everything works perfectly. This last trip Garrett installed a new Ring Doorbell Pro hardwired security camera and was so patient with that process and didn't mind that I was up in his face making sure everything looked perfect. I really don't need to bug him like that as his work always has a perfect outcome anyway. Once again thank you Trout!!

We recently had work done by Trout Electric to install cables and outlets above our fire place to mount our new tv, as well as repair a pot light that wasn't functioning properly. The service was prompt, professional and friendly and they did a great job mounting the tv for us as well. They were also able to refer us to a great drywall contractor to patch the holes needed to run the cables. All services were reasonably priced and they gave discounts for multiple jobs. The owner of Trout also made sure we were satisfied, insisting the Technicians do their jobs to the highest standard, without a request from us and personally scheduling appointments to suit our needs. I called Trout Electric after having trouble with one of the lights in our bathroom. They were very friendly and offered quick appointments. I was having a difficult time finding a replacement bulb for my porch light.  After going to several Lowe's and Home Depot stores, I was told the bulb I needed was obsolete.  Rather than trying to search for a replacement bulb, I contacted Trout Electric to have my light switched out.  I spoke with Matt who was very professional.  I explained my situation and what I would like to have done and he quoted me a reasonable price to get the work done.  One of his staff members, Garrett came out the following day and did a nice, clean professional job in retrofitting my porch light.  I am extremely pleased with the Excellent Service and Quality work they performed. Believe the hype. Trout is amazing. I called Mike in a panic yesterday afternoon due to an outlet that was smoking and sizzling in my kitchen and on the other side of the wall in my daughter's room. He explained that he and his team were totally booked all night but that he would send out a guy first thing in the morning. In the meantime, to ensure our safety, he walked my husband and I through all the steps to make sure the power was completely shut off in that area so that we would be perfectly okay until our appointment. He even had us send him pictures so he could gauge how serious the problem was, which he did not have to do. Luckily it wasn't a true emergency and could wait until morning. Garret and his partner showed up right on time this morning and they were able to fix the issue quickly and for a very reasonable price. They were polite and explained in detail what the problem was and how they were going to fix it. These guys know what they're doing and they provide such excellent customer service. You can tell they truly care about their customers. So glad I called them!

I am a skeptic.  I want that known out of the box.  Unless a trade is known to me, I have a certain amount of distrust before I go in.  I had an electrical problem with my old home which 2 independent electricians could not find.  I was referred by one of them to Matt at Trout Electric to troubleshoot the home to determine what was wrong.  Two men who were very nice showed up and ran through my home.  They were here for almost 3 hours.  They told me up front it was $200.00 to find the problem.  Not long into the service, I was being told that my house was basically a fire hazard and I really needed to do a complete rewire...(skeptic coming in here...)  and after the 3 hours was up, I had heard enough about new panels and rewiring to last me a lifetime.  I thought, well, is this all they want from me?  Where's the service?  Why isn't my problem being addressed?  They told me they found the problem, broken wires which could have led to a fire, but nothing was fixed when they left, and I was $200.00 poorer with a huge estimate for rewiring.  I was up all night getting more and more upset with the company because I felt ripped off.  First thing the next morning I called Matt and gave him a piece of my mind.  I told him how I felt...and figured it was worth the effort to get it off my chest.  

Matt surprised me, however.  He remained calm in the face of my wrath, and proceeded to tell me what they had uncovered, and why they thought I needed a rewire, and after discussing with me these things, offered me a reasonably priced solution which would buy me time to determine whether or when I could afford to rewire, but which would make my home safe and working in the meantime.    He also offered me some discounted pricing to make up for me being upset, and credited back the price of the original troubleshooting.  I accepted his offer.

The same guys came back, and unfortunately, I was having a really frustrating day and got bitchy because they had to work in my garden and some plants were becoming casualties of their work.    Just like their boss, they remained calm, were more than polite to me, and worked on my home from 8 a.m. until after 10 p.m. making sure that everything was done correctly, all my electrical worked, patched up and cleaned up as much as possible, and went home hungry and tired after a 14 hour day.

This morning I called to apologize to Matt for being a  less than nice client, and told him how much I appreciated what he and his crew did as professionals, and I want anyone to know who is searching on reviews on this company that they are really heads up.  It takes a lot to impress me...and I am impressed and trying to make amends for being such a pill.  5 stars.  'Nuff said.

called on a Friday night, we lost power to our A/C unit and it's over 85 degrees in the house.  Garrett was right out, he needed parts to get us going, called Matt who brought them from the shop and stayed to complete the job.  within a few hours we had a completely new upgraded electrical box, up to code with double the capacity at a VERY fair price, I checked later to compare.  Excellent work, great attitude  will use them again for sure

I rarely write reviews but feel very compelled to for Trout Electric. I have used them on about 4-5 occasions since moving into my home a year ago. They have installed a total of 20 recessed lights, repaired a faulty outlet in my master bedroom closet, and most recently removed two recessed lights in my entryway and replaced it with a hanging chandelier light. They have always done excellent work, been prompt on showing up for quotes and the jobs themselves. Garret has done all the work and recently Dillon has been with him on the last 2 jobs. They are extremely friendly and are helpful with offering advice when I have asked. Their prices are very fair and have even let me borrow some equipment overnight to do some drywall repair (not due to negligence) that was needed after running new wiring. My wife and I are planning on a full kitchen remodel within this next year and will be be using them for sure to do the under cabinet lighting as well as accent and task lighting. I cant recommend them enough to anyone looking for a quality, friendly, and affordable electrician.

I was in a need for an electrician and came across Trout Electric and was please with the reviews that I decide to give them a call.  I was having a problem with my breaker and Matt offered me two options.  Of course I went with the less of the two and when I'm ready for option two I'll be given this guys a call and for any electric issue in my home.  They were on time, professional and honest. Give them a call you won't be sorry.

Our box blew in the wee hours of a Sunday morning.  Called Trout based on previous Yelp reviews.  He was here in less than an hour.  Even suggested we call our insurance company to see if it was a covered loss...which it was.  Saved us $$$.  Finished the job the same day and restored our power before night fall.  Excellent company to work with.  Charges not unreasonable even for a Sunday!

Gives free estimates, licensed, answers calls responds quickly, show's up on time, a little early even.  I was very happy with the repair work done by trout electric.  They gave a fair estimate and troubleshooted the problem quickly and professionally.  Cleaned up after themselves.  Was done in less than an hour.

I highly recommend  Trout Electric . Matt and his crew were very professional and guided us through the process of getting a new panel after our fire damage. Being in a situation not really knowing where to turn I have say Trout made the experience less stressful. I will call them for all things electrical no doubt about it.

Had a problem with a GFI in the garage tripping intermittently. Replaced it myself because was told by a friend it probably needed to be replaced (it was about 20 years old). Wired it up the exact same way and it was still tripping intermittently. Spoke to Matt  @ Trout to setup an appointment to troubleshoot the problem. Went through it over the phone. Turns out the GFI was wired wrong originally. Matt explained what to do and was able to fix it myself. Very helpful and courteous. Definitely will call them next time I need an electrician.

Outstanding work!!  The guys called me a 1/2 hour before arrival like they said they would so I could make it back to my house to let them in.  The lighting looks fantastic. They do great work and we will definitely use them again.

I had 2 recessed lights installed, an outlet for my microwave (it kept tripping a breaker), and a new electrical panel installed due to a pool, central htg/air, tankless water htr., and all the new electronics/electrics we all come to enjoy since the. panel was installed in 1965.  My home was built in 1924 & remodeled in 1965. It was time!  The 2 men who did the installation were skilled, polite, and explained what it was that they were doing. They did go over their estimated install time (old houses do that to installers), but they stayed and worked very hard until the electricity was back on. Trout also recommended a drywall patchman to repair the recessed light damage and that, too, was done quickly, efficiently and reasonably. I'm happy with it!  P.S.  Whenever I get a time estimate, I always double it -odd things happen in old homes and that way,  I don't get upset when the job takes longer.
