Shawn replaced a non working shutoff valve under my sink. It was a dual shutoff type with 3/8 connection to the sink cold water and a 1/4 connection to the fridge and an under sink hot water heater.
Excellent job. Much better that the original one that was there.

Shawn called to assure me he was on his way and he arrived on time.

Shawn has a truck and trailer full of supplies. He's ready to tackle anything.

He went above and beyond. I'll surely used Shawn's services again.

This review is for the work from Feb 2020 before COVID hit. I got smart and tried to fix garbage disposal unit under my sink by myself and ended up with getting my tool caught and would not budge. I also torn up some electrical wiring along the way. Really needed a professional's help and here comes Shawn. Needed few extra days to secure an appointment (he was booked), but great communication through cell and texted pictures of the problem area first; very clear with 3 options I had as far as what he could see from the pics and very clear with his pricing. He showed up, pulled off the tool (he has much more muscles than I), fixed the wiring and ended with the least expensive option. He left with clean work area, a working garbage disposer (saved more than $100 from buying/installing a new unit), and great conversations from his vast knowledge, as well as some tips on plumbing/maintenance. Thank you Shawn! Don't want any more plumbing troubles, but I know whom to call if I run into one.

Bought our old townhouse a couple of years ago and we haven't had the need for plumbing service until recently, when our standing shower drain wasn't draining fast enough and a pool of water was collecting at our feet. Shawn's prices are reasonable, but what I appreciated most was his follow-up and dependability. He responded to my initial inquiry within the timeframe he stated on his voicemail, he confirmed the appointment time we scheduled, he called to let me know when he was on his way, and he arrived on-time, which was within the arrival timeframe he quoted.

Shawn is efficient, personable, and from what I observed, he was careful in placing his tools and machine down to ensure that your property is not damaged. Just for that, I would definitely use his services again! I even added his phone number to my contact list!

Had a clogged/backed up sink that we tried to clear via good 'ole Drano - which didn't work - and neither did our little home snake kit, so I gave Shawn a call based on his excellent Yelp reviews. He called me just an hour or two after I left him a message and we were able to work out an appointment just a few days away to accommodate my work schedule.

He cleared the clog, snaked a branch line just to make sure, and answered all of my questions with a smile. Having had to call plumbers for emergency work before, I felt his rate was very fair, and that his service (and especially his great attitude) absolutely exceeded my expectations. He left me with lots of tips on pipe maintenance and a few things to watch out for around our property that could affect our main line; definitely appreciated the heads up.

I would highly recommend Shawn and would definitely call him again in the future if needed! (although hopefully not for quite some time).

Finding a good handyman who is promt, ontime, efficient, respectful, knowledgeable, reasonable priced and upfront is rare. Shawn is all those things.

We came home from vacation to a busted water heater on a rainy winter night. After i had tried to light the pilot for the water heater several times i failed to keep it going once i letgo of the knob.
I called shawn left him a message around 8am and told him my problem not expecting a call till later atnight considering he is so busy! He not only called be back in the afternoon he worked with my time to come over and fix it right away. He gave me a quote and was clear with the problem and time frame. He also made sure he was clear on the model so he can get the correct parts and not waste my time making multiple Home Depot trips.

He is a very nice guy with a warm personality! He helped me fix it as well as taught me a few tricks to make my water heater last longer.

Unlike a lot of other handyman's that i have worked with before he doesnt have any fringe costs or use cheap parts. I already have another appt with him to fix something that cud wait some days.

Problems wait for no one. My wife and I had good and bad luck the past few years finding people to fix various things around the house. Great work was followed by desertion.

In this case, we needed to install a new air gap to our dishwasher with a new discharge line from the air gap to garbage disposal which required drilling a new hole near the top of our sink. We first called the plumber most recently used, but they had family issues which prevented a timely response. So we turned to Yelp.

My wife left a message in the afternoon. Shawn called back the next morning, offered an estimate by phone and made arrangements to visit in a few days. We expected him between 10 and 11 AM and he called at 1040 AM to say he'd arrive about 11 AM. He came with the necessary parts and was done by 1215 PM. Since we planned to have a new dishwasher installed within a few weeks, Shawn explained the issues to be aware of and patiently answered a couple of other minor plumbing questions.

Overall, Shawn met the criteria to earn 5 stars, including:
- Flexibility with the calendar
- Arrived on time
- Explained what needed to be done before doing it
- Completed the work with a minimum of fuss and delay
- No harm to the house
- Cleaned up after himself
- Nice guy
- Charged a reasonable price of $225

Based on our first experience with Shawn, we'd heartily recommend him for plumbing problems in and around San Jose. Let's hope he's available next time we need a plumber.

Shawn is an exceptional plumber and human being. He answered my call about a broken garbage disposal unit immediately, and he was at my home within an hour, right on time. First he asked me to go out and buy a new unit, in case I needed it, and told me what kind to buy. He also told me the exact prices that he would be charging, depending on whether he would be able to fix the existing unit or install the new one.

Once here, he did his best to save the old unit, but it was soon apparent that it was leaking water and beyond repair. He then noted that my plumbing configuration under the sink was very unusual, and for a moment it seemed that he might not be able to do the work. However, he soon worked out a solution that involved getting a couple of pieces of piping from his very impressive truck and trailer and cutting them to fit.

I couldn't be more satisfied with his work and with all of the good advice that he gave me.

Shawn delivers amazing plumbing service at a very reasonable rate.

I had a minor leak with a water filter system at a rental unit I managed. It's one of those items that can get complicated and expensive with specialized parts.

Since I was heading out of town, Shawn was able to coordinate with the tenant, even when the tenant had to reschedule. He was persistent with the tenant and gave me regular updates by phone. After he isolated the problem, he was able to go ahead and order the required part. Then he managed to reschedule the return visit with the tenant after multiple follow up calls.

I was very impressed and given his rates, I'll definitely be calling on him again for small jobs at other properties.

Great Communication:
Sean made sure to reply to each one of my voicemails. We were both very busy so I kept missing Sean's calls, but he made sure that we got in touch. I really appreciated that.

Great Service:
The supply lines under my bathroom sink were leaking and had been misdiagnosed by other plumbers, but Sean managed to figure out and repair the problem. Afterwards, he left my bathroom in a better condition than when he came. He dried everything under the sink including the bowl used to catch the water so that if the leak continued, we can detect it right away and give him a call back. Not to mention, he has a good eye for detail and he seems like a friendly, good-hearted guy who cares about what he does.

Great Price:
Sean's price was lower than the quotes I got from a few other plumbers.

Overall:
I would definitely call Sean back for any of my home's plumbing problems.

Professional and timely inspection from The Handyman Plumber.
My kitchen sink had a leak, and my husband said we needed a professional to check it out. Shawn was super easy to get in touch with and was able to come look at my sink the same afternoon. He determined the faucet needed to be replaced instead of the easier possibility where a pipe was the issue. He quoted a fair price. My husband decided he wanted to actually get his plumbing skills on and do the work so we didn't end up needing Shawn. If we ever have another issue we will definitely get him to do the job.

Writing this review as Shawn leaves our house. Neither my husband nor I are very handy, and we just purchased our first home. Every home has its kinks and ours is certainly no exception. We called Shawn out to take a look at why our air gap filter in our dishwasher was gushing water onto our counters, and to have him take a look at why water wasn't dispensing from our brand new fridge. Before he even got down to the work, Shawn showed us (because as new, unknowledgable homeowners, we don't know anything!) where various water shutoff valves were around our house. He really took the time to teach us and explain everything, which is something we really appreciate.

Turns out the air gap filter just needed a bit of cleaning in the hose (there was a lot of gunk in there from the previous owners); now, when our dishwasher drains, it isn't gushing out water.

The fridge water hookup was a bit trickier. Shawn didn't hesitate to put on his crawl space suit and got down and dirty, underneath our house to help us locate the water shutoff valve. The reason we weren't getting any water from our fridge was because the water valve had been turned down to a trickle. He turned the water back on, and now we're getting water from the fridge, hooray!

Bottom line, Shawn is the best; he really cares and takes the time to make sure you are educated so that you know what to do when a plumbing crisis arises! Thank you so much, we're definitely recommending you to all of our South Bay friends.

Shawn has another customer for life. I called him after my mom got a ridiculous estimate from another plumber for a leak. That plumber advised my mom to get a hydro flush for a few thousand dollars. When Shawn came out, he found the leak and repaired it. He told us we didn't need a hydro flush and gave us advice on how to ensure that we never do.

Great customer service skills, highly responsive (even though he gets calls/texts all the time), and a straight shooter. I highly recommend.

Decided to go with Shawn because of his responsiveness and I'm sure glad we did. Called on a Wednesday to see if he could fix a leak. Came out the same day (actually about 30 minutes after I called) and fixed it...all in under 2 hours (including his trip to OSH for a replacement part). Fixed our water leak quickly for a reasonable price. Didn't change his original quote. Service was prompt and customer service was awesome. We wouldn't hesitate to call him next time we have plumbing problems. Highly recommend him!

Shawn is the only plumber who I would recommend in the South Bay. He's really a plumbing engineer, not just a plumber.

His primary concern was that my job was done excellently with long lasting positive results. He used the best hardware and tools to get the job done perfectly the first time. While he was working, he was solicitous of my needs and changed course when it was warranted. He was a great listener and excellent problem solver with real engineering skills.

When he installed a water filtration system for me, the provided parts in the kit weren't compatible with my under sink hardware. He modified and reassembled the kit's parts with additional parts that he had in his truck to solve the problem.

He redid the piping under my sink and made more available under cabinet space. The work done was built to last and he made it user serviceable so that I could fix most minor problems by myself in the future.

I changed the parameters of the job after he arrived and he took it in stride. He gave me two quotes. One with the original work scope and a second one with the extra work scope. Finally, the cost to me was less than the cost of any plumber that I've hired before -- with better results.

I've already passed his name to friends and family as the go-to guy for plumbing issues.

Shawn is not only a great plumber but an excellent teacher too. In the first visit, he taught me about where my meter was and how to turn off the water supply in emergencies. I got him to change my washer's old hot water tap. When there was a problem with the tap a few weeks later ( not his fault) he came back the next day to fix it, even though it was his day off. I'd highly recommend him to my friends. Thanks Shawn!

OMG, where do I start. Shawn returned my call, we talked about my problem, and he was understanding and gave me suggestions. I asked that he fit me into his schedule, and within a day he called back and came the following day. I had problems with a recirculating pump, Shawn thoroughly investigated and solved that issue. Now he is finished, but I happened to mention a high water bill, and he said let's take a look.

Thinking I had a leak, he shuts off the main water line, then the sprinkler line and must have made twenty five trips from my back yard to the meter to see if it was moving. Above and beyond efficient. He found a valve that was turned on just a little, and shutting that off completely solved the meter from moving.

Then he fixed a toilet and charged me the price he quoted for the circulating issue. Such a friendly, knowledgeable man. I will think of Shawn every time I get my water bill. I wish I could give him ten stars. Thank you Shawn, and Yelp for a job well done. Honest, honest man.

We had Shawn replace two kitchen faucets and put in a recirculating hot water pump.
The faucets were a pretty big job and he brought another guy and they got it all done in about 4 hours. He also helped me track down a leak that was intermittent and got that taken care of.
The faucet replacement cost a bit more than I thought it should, but he did a great and through job.
He really knows his plumbing and we discussed the hot water pump so I'd know exactly what was involved.

In a nutshell, Shawn is absolutely super! He may not be the cheapest guy out there, but he is responsive, professional, and a nice guy to boot. He'll take care of whatever issue it is you have and give you some extra advice if he sees something of concern.

I initially called Shawn to get a quote for some plumbing issues my husband and I noticed in our master bath--a funky (rotten egg-like) smell that kept recurring (it would go away for a few weeks every time we drano-ed the shower) and a strange stream of water we noticed would come out of a pipe that ended just short of a screened opening near the base of our house every time we used the master shower.

Shawn is a super busy guy since he's a one-man shop, so when he didn't pick up the first time, I left a voicemail. He called back that evening, but I couldn't get to the phone. We were finally able to connect the following morning, and he spent a good 15 minutes going over what could possibly be the problem. I had him come out to scope out the issue, which cost us $95, and after suiting up and crawling underneath our house for about an hour, Shawn discovered that we had some weeeird plumbing and piping going on in our house (stuff that the inspector should have caught when the previous owners sold the house!), which was causing water flowing down our master shower drain to go back underneath the foundation of the house. The water that was sitting under the house was likely the cause of the recurring smell.

ANYWAY, long story short, Shawn fixed the weird piping issue and said that we likely had a clogged drain somewhere, which we'd have to diagnose after the stuff he had fixed dried. Shawn left to go to his next job but said he'd call later in the day so we could test which drain was clogged. I suspected the master shower, and sure enough, when Shawn called, that baby clogged up within 15 seconds of being turned on. He CAME BACK that same day and cleaned out the shower drain (nice big black hairball came up) for me at a discount, and even drew me a nice diagram to illustrate to me exactly what was going on with all the plumbing.

Anyway, a few hours' worth of Shawn's time and just over $300 later, our crazy plumbing issues have been fixed. I'd call him again in a heartbeat! Thanks, Shawn!

Disclaimer I have not used The Handyman Plumber but found his listing and have been reading the comments while I look for another plumber to replace the one who 1) forgot my appointment, 2) did not honor the price he quoted (In my Bathroom!) and renigged on picking up the toilets I bought for him to install. Also the office maiden is officious and unpleasant.

So I take exception to those few who gave poor ratings to the Handyman because he was not immediately available, was too busy to take on new work, and could not provide service because he could not park his trailer and truck near the job site.

This gentleman seems to be kind, helpful and polite, does not owe anyone anything. He is not our servant, and he is a human, an excellent worker who clearly is a good Samaritan. He has gone out of his way to do more than the job requires. Teaching people to help themselves and fix their own problems is a great thing. So where do we come from that we deliberately try to hurt him and his business reputation when he is not able to race to our rescue and solve all our problems.

This place and the people in Silly Valley are waaay out of line. Do you demean your Doctor if he is not immediately available at your beck and call. Do you leave snarky messages when your boss is not available. The irrational self centered and just mean attitudes I read on the very few bad reviews are unjustified and seem intentionally cruel, like a child throwing a tantrum.

Give the man his dignity, respect his hours, time, schedule and humanity. Thank him and make him feel welcome when he comes to rescue you. And be the type of person he wants to help. And for god sake, negotiate the price up front and then do not cry he upsold you or over charged you. Handle it, take it or leave it, man up and keep on looking if you do not like the price. Just be glad you did not reach the double dealing ad disappointing plumber that stood me up.

Our disposal wouldn't turn on. Called Shawn who led me through a series of checks over the phone. The problem was a tripped breaker. No charge said Shawn.

So, we have found a go-to, honest, helpful handyman at last. Shawn will be getting our business from now on.

Called 4:00 pm on 10/31/16 and left message
No response by 1:30 pm on 11/1/16 so called again
Replied late 11/1/16 asked me to get replacement and call him back when it arrives to schedule installation
On 11-2-16 called Globe Union for part, they decided to replace entire faucet.
On 11-9-16 faucet arrived, called to schedule appointment, had to leave message.
Our call was returned around 6 pm on 11-9-16. Was told there were no openings until next Wednesday, 11-16-16 and refused to give us an appointment at that time because he said we could get someone sooner than him.
He was not very helpful. After telling us to call him back once we had the faucet he then refused to come out at all.

Shawn is a lifesaver. I have a recently purchased mobile home and he was able to get my dishwasher shut-off valve updated when other plumbers said they could not. While he was here we discovered a major water leak from a busted pipe (thanks to the water company!) and he was able to correct that as well. His prices are fair and he is very clear about what he is doing. I will call him first in the future. I highly recommend his services.

The water heater in my house wasn't working one early morning. I looked up Yelp and found Shawn's info (Handyman Plumber). The problem was with pilot flame not turning on. Shawn walked me through the steps over phone and luckily, the flame turned on. He stayed on phone and made sure flame doesn't go off after while. This took few minutes, but saved a lot of trouble and money for our family.

Shawn could have easily fooled me in to big repair that was not required. But he was honest and explained what could be going wrong. He gave tips on what to look out for in future.

Very impressed and will certainly call him for future plumbing needs.

Well it's been close to 3 years now and my heater's thermocouple went bad. Spoke to Shawn and he advised me to call the manufacturer to get new part (was covered under warranty). Once the part arrived Shawn immediately came by and got it fixed.
I felt he charged me up little bit more this time, hence knocking off one star. Other than that awesome service!! Thanks Shawn!

Shawn is great and very informative. I called him because I had a new refrigerator moved to a new location and needed to tap into a water line. At first I thought I may not even get a call back because it's such a small job, but no way...Shawn called back promptly. He spent plenty of time on the phone with me answering ALL my questions, which were probably too many, but you would never have known that because he was so gracious and respectful. I was scheduled right away and the job was done promptly and perfectly at the most cost effective and efficient way. He also peeked at another issue I had and answered all those questions, never making me feel rushed or ignorant! haha Since I had to work and I had my Mother there to greet him, he called me that evening to see if everything was ok and that I was satisfied. That's what I call great customer service!

I needed some work done at a rental along with an inspection of the plumbing under the house. Shawn made the house call, quickly fixed the problem, and completed the inspection. Shawn was excellent. He returned my call within one day and promptly came to my house to repair our garbage disposal and toilet. He fixed everything and also explained to us what was going on and gave us information on how to maintenance and care of both the garbage disposal and the toilet flushing system. Price was okay too. Such a great experience! I had a clogged shower and, I thought, sink as well. I called Shawn and left a message. True to his word, he called me back within 24hrs and came out that same day! He quickly unclogged the shower and after looking at my sink determined that it was a much simpler fix then snaking the drain and so didn't charge me for it. His rates were fair and he was very professional. I will definitely be calling him the next time I have a plumbing problem.

I will keep this short. I have a leaking garbage disposal. Shawn helped me to diagnose the problem and replaced the bad units almost a year ago. Due to the problem of the garbage disposal design, it started giving me leaking problems once again just now. I gave Shawn a call; left a message. He courteously returned my call very soon. Put me on top of his list and take care of my problem first, as I 'was' a paying customer. He identified the problem and took time to fix it right there. I expected to pay for this service call. He'll call you to ask you about your plumbing requirements and estimate, and when he's leaving for your place and about what time he'll be there, instead of just texting. I recently bought a new home and a new gas range to go with it. Although I paid the appliance company to deliver and install the unit they would not install the unit because they say it needed a new valve. I called The Handyman Plumber and Shawn answered right away. He said he could be by that afternoon to come look at it. Not only did he replace the valve, but he finished hooking up my range and showed me how to use it. In addition, he replaced a shower faucet diverter and tightened up a loose kitchen faucet as well.

I have used Shawn for 3 work items now -- fixing of two toilets, installing a new garbage disposal, and a small repair to my fence. He is fast, knowledgeable, and really good at communication.

The best things about Shawn are:
1. he shows you how to save money by telling you what parts you can buy yourself at home depot, so that he can just come over and do the labor part. (for me, told me which garbage disposal to buy from home depot)
2. he shows you important parts of what to do in the future to save money, or what items are likely to break in the future (went over the water shutoff outside my house, and what to do in certain flooding circumstances, showed me which valves were made of cheap plastic, and showed me where some rusty bolts or rottted wood may lead to issues later)
3. he chooses generally higher quality parts like metal valves instead of plastic so that you are best protected for the future, or toilet parts that are less likely to encounter problems in the future.

#1 shows that he isn't trying to milk you for every dollar. his dedication to quality is apparent in everything he does. everything he has touched in and around my house has been rock solid.

Shawn takes the time to explain to you what he is doing, and what things may happen when he starts his work. I use him to help me with fixes to my rental property, but he has extra value in teaching what things I can easily do myself. On more than one occasion, he has helped me solve a problem where he didn't even have to come over.

A few months back Shawn from Handyman Plumber replaced our old Sloan Master flush unit with a new one and did such a great job. Shawn was extremely friendly and professional, but more important knowledgeable and skilled in his craft. Fast forward 3 months, the same toilet Shawn worked on had flooded our bathroom floor. Uncertain in what went wrong I called Shawn right away to notify him. On the day he came, he was able to trouble shoot the problem (not the Sloan unit he replaced) which was a broken lever causing the toilet to continually run and over flow. He called one of his vendors and told us that we can buy the part and fix it ourselves which we did. Problem solved! Shawn charged us nothing for his time and took his time to help us out. Shawn is very knowledgeable and helpful. For several years I had a simple issue with the P-trap under kitchen sink: every 2-4 months it would begin to leak until it would loosen enough to flood area underneath sink. I had different handymen and even a [supposed] professional plumbing company attempt to address the problem. None of them were able to properly address the issue. At my wit's end, I contacted Shawn hoping he would be able to fix my issue. When Shawn came, he explained to me not only what the issue was, but how to properly solve it. As he was explaining what was going on, I quickly understood Shawn was different from all the other persons who attempted to fix this issue. We had Shawn out to the house today for the second time in a month. The first time he replaced the thermocouple on our water heater after diagnosing over the phone. He was on time, worked fast, and took the time to explain how our water heater worked compared to newer models, gave us some pointers on how to maintain our utility room to prolong the life of the heater, and showed us some piping issues that should eventually be re-plumbed (but said he would wait until we replace the water heater). My husband asked him a lot of questions about re-piping the whole house, repairing pin-hole leaks, etc., and Shawn took the time to answer all the questions and gave some great recommendations for next time we run into a problem. We were impressed that he didn't try to upsell us into doing more work.

When we noticed a leak coming out the front wall of our house on to the porch this Sunday, we immediately called. Shawn said it sounded like a 2 man job so he called Johnny from Arrow Plumbing and they came over this morning. Unfortunately for them the leak was in the cramped crawlspace, so they suited up and got right in there to plan the repair. They were somehow able to figure out a way to repair the cracked drain pipe by opening up a small hole in the back of our kitchen cabinet instead of having to go through the exterior wall, which saved us a ton of money. My husband had wondered about having them re-pipe the drain pipe from the sink while they were at it, but Shawn said he didn't see a need to do that and explained why it was fine the way it was. He answered all my questions, and did a great job containing the mess and cleaning up afterwards.

Shawn was very professional, friendly, informative, with very reasonable pricing. Both times, he gave us an estimate up front and stuck to it. We won't hesitate to call again next time we need a plumber. Thanks Shawn!!

I needed to have a shut-off valve installed on the main supply line to the house. The connection to the house was in a tight location and the pipe had some complicated connections in place. After seeing his reviews here on Yelp, I called Shawn.

He called me back promptly and we discussed the situation. He gave me a verbal quote and we set up a time. Because it was a little complicated to describe the connection, he told me up front that if he came out and things weren't quite what he had pictured, he would call me on my cell (I would be at work) and give me an updated quote and if at that point I wanted to decline, that would be fine and there would be no charge.

Well, all that I can say is Shawn came out; did the work at the originally quoted price and it went extremely well. He is an extremely nice and very competent guy and one thing that I really like in hiring someone is their communication skills. He was very communicative and he did a great job. Overall, I am EXTREMELY satisfied and I give him top marks.

I had an us-usual problem. The plumbing for the gas line in my outdoor fire pit was broken. Specifically the connector pipe that connects the feeder pipe to the fire ring had become old and broke on the ring side. It was still connected to the feeder side. The connection pipe is a short pipe, it had become rusted since it was outside to such an extent that it almost melded with the feeder pipe, it was crumbling and a little amount of pressure was deforming it and more pressure was crumbling it into smaller pieces and it was almost impossible to remove. The standard solution was to replace the entire plumbing and it would cost a lot.

Shawn, however, wasn't ready to give up. He wanted to try to unscrew the connector pipe from the feeder pipe as that would avoid replacing the entire plumbing and only the connector pipe would need to be replaced. He tried hard the conventional ways using different tools, grease etc but the connector pipe was lodged tough and because of its short, rusting and crumbling nature a lot of pressure would break the top part and leave the lower part that connects to the feeder side in its place. At this point many would give up and just go with replacing the entire plumbing assembly.

However Shawn still wanted to figure out a solution to this problem. He came up with an innovative idea to use a blow torch and some grease to try to clear up the rust and grime near the grooves where the connector pipe was connected to feeder pipe simultaneously applying pressure to dislodge the pipe. This wasn't easy either. After considerable effort he removed the connector pipe successfully. I was very impressed by his out-of-box thinking and extra effort to save money and find a solution.

He also put in a new connector pipe and since this was gas installation he took precautions to apply sealant where it connects to feeder side. Overall he worked for an hour and half, did great work and saved significant amount of money. I would very highly recommend Shawn to anyone.

Sean is great. My toilet mysteriously clogged up the day after the painters from Painter's Friend finished painting the interior of my home. I called Sean and he came out the next day to take a look. He patiently did several tests including removing the whole toilet and looked inside the toilet neck. After 1+ hours of searching, he found a 3x5 paint sprayer tip inside the toilet's neck. He reinstalled the toilet and cleaned up the area nicely. His price is incredibly reasonable for his professional and excellent work. Thank you so much Sean. I would not hesitate recommending him. As a matter of fact, I immediately referred him to a co-worker who needs some plumbing works for her home.

He also gave me advice on my sewer line which another plumber suggested that I should replace the entire line. He gave me a quote on cleaning out the sewer line. I'll be calling him back soon for an appointment.

I have a new plumber! After two 'no-call-backs' from plumbers that were recommended to me by co-workers I started looking on my own. I found Shawn on Yelp and I couldn't be more happy. Excellent experience,,,!!! Our water heater wouldn't fire up so I called Shawn to schedule an appointment on a Monday morning. He asked me a couple of questions over the phone to get an idea what was going on and he even quoted me an estimate right then. Luckily he was able to come out that same day and quoted a time frame when he would probably be arriving. He called when he left the prior job and when he arrived he went right to work. He had it up and running in no time and the job came to exactly what he had quoted. It's good to deal with a knowledgeable professional who does what he says. He's now my 'go-to' plumber. Yelp's slogan, Woohoo! As good as it gets! perhaps accurately reflects Shawn's service in my case. I called a few companies and while Shawn was just a tad bit on the higher side than some others, I decided to give him a shot just because he had 5-star reviews all along - no exception.

We had water backing up into the shower when washer would run (and so the story goes). Shawn quoted a relatively competitive price and ensured me that this is no gimmick price, no matter how hard the problem gets. And sure it was harder than it appeared - he ended up unclogging three drains instead of one but he still stuck with his quote and did an excellent job.

He took time describing the practicalities and theory behind the plumbing to me and what other work I should or should consider doing based on my situation.

Many thanks to you Shawn - you did an excellent job, you have a great attitude towards your work and customers. And you are the main man (no pun intended) for us. Already other friends of ours have taken your contact. I hope your dedication pays off for you.

Soooo I was supposed to have my refrigerator installed today but the guys told me that they couldn't figure out the shut off valve of the water pump that was coming from the fridge so they would leave my new fridge in the garage and would come back when I figure out which valve it was. I was livid. Why wouldn't you tell your customers that this is something that needs to be figured out before the delivery/installers come over?! Anyway, I went on the hunt for a plumber, scared of the fee's that would be charged just for someone to point to me where the shut off valve was for this water pump. One guy called me back and told me $50. I thought that was a little absurd. So I waited and waited for Shawn to call me back and he did!!! Shawn was so professional, patient and helpful! I am so not a handy person around the house but he walked me through all the different tubes and valves and pipes and told me what to do and low and behold, guess what I did?! I shut off the water valve all by myself!! No fee's, no charges, no wasted time coming over for something simple as that. Thank you so much Shawn!! You were truly a blessing! I would definitely recommend him to anyone and would call him if we needed anything else!

I've hired Shawn twice now who was referred by a neighbor who found him on Yelp! The first time he was here about a year ago my water pressure was really bad and he was able to diagnose the problem without jumping to expensive conclusions and doing unnecessary work. He took time to think is through and ask me valid questions before proceeding and it came down to a simple clogged pipe connection from the water heater that was affecting the entire house.

The second time was just the other day around 9 PM on a Sunday night when the copper connection he replaced a year ago somehow developed a pinhole that caused water to spray all over my garage . I called him not imagining he'd really call me back but within a 1/2 hour he did return my call. He had just returned from vacation, too, and still took the time to tell me what to do until he could get to my home the next day. He actually arrived 2 hrs earlier than expected and had the decency to give me fair warning 30 mins prior to arriving.

He is very honest and his fees are extremely fair and reasonable. I have him on speed dial now and would definitely highly recommend him.

Shawn is fantastic. He is friendly, quick and responsive, trustworthy and focused on saving money for his customers.

I called Shawn for a quote to replace my leaking water heater. The first thing Shawn suggested was that the water heater might not need to be replaced... that perhaps it could be repaired (or a part replaced) and he came out to my house (free-of-charge) to take a look. When we realized that the water heater would need to be replaced, Shawn suggested that I contact the manufacturer because the water heater was still under warranty. I had 3 quotes from other plumbers and all of them were more expensive than Shawn and 2 of them told me that the manufacturer would not replace the water heater because it had not been flushed regularly. I called the manufacturer on Shawn's advice and, as it turns out, they offered to swap out the water heater with a new one no questions asked. Shawn helped me to locate a distributor for the water heater and I ended up with a free water heater!

Shawn was completely up-front about his fees. He quoted me a flat fee for labor to repair or replace the water heater. Parts were additional, but not expensive. He was very flexible on timing for installation. I needed to repair some water damage to the floor, so he came out to de-install the water heater and came back a week later to install. He totally works with your schedule. In addition, when Shawn was in the crawl space under my house, he offered to repair a heating vent that he noticed was broken at no extra charge.

I really appreciated my experience with Shawn. He gave me great advice and did a fantastic job for a reasonable price. I would definitely use him again!

These guys are top notch. I highly recommend Shawn.

Story: I first called $15 Drain and had them come out to clear up a clogged main sewer line. The guy showed up and immediately told me my hourly price ($88/man/hour) would be doubled because they needed to go through the roof vent and it would require another guy. He came alone so I was going to have to wait. Since I had to go to work, I ended up telling him to come later. I decided to call around and check some other options and found Shawn at Handyman Plumbers.
Shawm was very nice, honest and I got a good vibe. Additionally, he charges a FLAT rate which is much better than the hourly other larger companies will charge. Shawn came out, ended up not needing to go through the roof vent and unclogged my main. It took at most 45 minutes. He also was kind enough to show me how to put the toilet back together. Very helpful, very professional and honest.

these guys are AMAZING. Water heater busted at 9am they were in my house by 10:15 and finished buying and installing a brand new water heater by 1pm. several of my neighbors had the same problem earlier in the month and it took their plumbers all day to install. they have a nice friendly demeanor and even showed us how to work the water heater. they even guaranteed their work. their card is on my refrigerator for the next time i need a GREAT plumber1

We had issues with all three of our toilets (one was unusable). We called Shawn, and he was able to come over the next day. He made adjustments to all three (we didn't need any parts), and we're very happy with the results! He spent time with me pointing out exactly what he did for each toilet.

When I called him, he was very honest about pointing out advantages of getting new toilets vs repairing old ones. He also outlined the rebate system for us.

Shawn is knowledgeable, friendly, fair, and great to work with.

I've had Shawn at my house on 2 occasions in the past year. First involved 3 things: replaced washers on shower faucets, cleared a pipe, and advised on a slightly leaky commode. He let me watch and essentially gave me a lesson on minor plumbing repair as well as excellent advice on maintenance tasks (and likely outcome scenarios). The price I paid was what he quoted. I was able to use what I learned to make a minor repair, later.

The second time he came over was when I had a sewage backup with visitors at the house. I was lucky and amazed that he was able to show up within about an hour of my calling him and he cleared the pipe pretty quickly. He gave me a lower price than what he had quoted over the phone because he was able to fix it more easily than expected. As with his first visit, he gave excellent advice; this time about how the trees in my front yard were impacting my plumbing and how to deal with it.

I would call Shawn again with no hesitation.

Ok. Needed a plumber but wasn't an emergency. He is being very honest when he says that he will return your call the same day no matter what! He is a busy man and still called me back a short time after I left him a message. Not only was he very polite but listened to everything I had to say AND went out of his way to fit me in the same day we talked. Very punctual, polite and very honest about what needs to be done and will be straight up if something that you think has an issue can be solved easier, quicker or a cheaper way. Prices vary so much out there, but he is fair. Thankful I chose him after not knowing who to call or who to trust. Read al of the comments on Yelp and that's how I came to try him out. Glad I did. Our renters were having a problem with the toilet. I called two plumbing companies. One plumber came out and gave a very high estimate. They both told me all kinds of things that would need to be done - at very high costs. I then remembered Shawn, who had solved a plumbing problem for me once over the phone, by giving me suggestions of things to try myself before paying someone to come out. It had worked, and he saved me the cost of hiring a plumber. He was so honest, I had written his number down. I called him for the rental problem, he came out within a day, and fixed the problem easily and at a very reasonable cost. I had a bathroom sink that was completely blocked and tried to clear it myself with no success. I found Shawn on Yelp and gave him a call. A half hour later my sink was working like a champ again, talk about a quick response! It cost me less money and time to have Shawn fix it than it took for me to go to the hardware store and buy the drano, a plunger, and a snake, none of which worked. I really wanted to write a good review for Shawn, who did a great job of fixing and cleaning our kitchen drain in a very tight schedule. Actually this is my first review in Yelp... Our kitchen drain was blocked after cleaning dinner dishes. I couldn't fix it by using a hand snake bought from Home Depot. I called Shawn and left a message because it was almost 8pm. Next morning after 8am I tried to call a few other plumbing service companies, only got two answered my call. One has open appointment in one week, and the other company transferred my call to service staff but no one picked up. Just when I was so frustrated, Shawn called and asked a few questions to get some ideas of the issue, then he told me he can come around 9:15am after finishing up the current job. He did come before 9:15, which is wonderful for me since I have to go to work in the morning. He is well equipped with different tools, and it took him about 15mins to fix the clog. After that he took one more step to clean the drain down to the bathroom to make the trip and my money well worth it! In between he even taught me how to make my snake tool better and recommend a few things to prevent the clog issue in the future. In my opinion and experience, he is not only nice to talk to but very professional in plumbing. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to my friends!

I strongly echo everything good that others have said about Shawn.
I always stress out whenever I have any kind of work done around the house, but Shawn was so easy to work with that there was no stress at all. He did a job in the backyard--the 50-year old galvanized pipes going to several faucets had started leaking under a cement slab, so we decided to have Shawn abandon the galvanized and repipe everything with PVC and copper, where appropriate. This included going under the house to run copper piping from one end of the house to the other and to the outside. Shawn does all the work himself, except in big jobs like this, where he has the help of Johnny, also a licensed plumber. The two work well together and are very meticulous, perfectionistic, and professional. They checked with me along the way to be sure they were doing things the way I wanted it. They explained everything to me as they went along and always kept me in the loop. I would use Shawn again in a heartbeat.

My landlady had used Shawn before, so she called him again, as the stream from the kitchen fawcet had reduced to a maddeningly thin trickle. My landlady feared she'd have to fork out a lot of money for the plumbing. I was here, this morning, when Shawn came to fix the problem. He was nothing but honest, and he charged my landlady $75.00 to fix the problem, since it wasn't anything really serious. We all talked afterwards. Shawn is a really decent person, and his work ethic, enthusiasm for his profession, and rates are all to be appreciated. In this day and age (and I'm 62), Shawn is a rare and decent human being.

Thank god for Yelp and Sean. My water heater went out. I called Sears since it was supposed to be under warranty. Sears told me my warranty didn't cover my problem and they couldn't tell me how much the hourly repair charge was. I was not about to give anyone a blank check. Looking at Sear's repair reviews, I saw nothing but negative reviews. I searched on Yelp and found Sean. Nothing but positive reviews. I spoke to Sean on the phone and he knew just what the problem was. He quoted me a price, said if he couldn't fix it there was no charge and came out the next day. Sean even called to follow up the next day to make sure my problem was solved. I highly recommend the Handyman Plumer.

I called Handyman Plumber because of the good reviews here on Yelp. In the past I have NOT a been a satisfied customer of commercial plumbers or clogged drain companies. All contact with Shawn has been positive. He explained the options of fixing the bathroom sink problems. I opted for the more permanent one. I needed some plumbing work done and decided to call Shawn from all of the Yelp recommendations. Since all of the reviews were so glowing, I was a little concerned that the reviews might be stacked with false reviews. But I called anyway, left him a message, and he returned my call the same day. I explained the work that I needed - work on a toilet, garbage disposal, and kitchen faucet sprayer. Shawn listened, we discussed possible causes, and he gave estimates for the various solutions. We set an appointment time for him to do the work. He arrived during the time window promised, and immediately started work. The garbage disposal needed replacing, and the kit I purchased did not have all of the needed plugs. He went to his truck, and made the necessary adjustments with the materials he had on his truck. All problems were fixed, and at the prices quoted. He was professional, friendly, and even took time to provide tips to avoid having the same issues in the future. I would definitely call Shawn for any plumbing issues in the future, and would recommend him to anyone looking for help with plumbing issues.
