Travis isn't the cheapest plumber you'll find but his pricing is fair & he does great work. He'll quote you a price so there won't be any surprises unless he finds a bigger problem during the repair. He won't try to talk you into extras or take advantage if you don't know plumbing. He's often busy so he may be hard to book but that's cause he does great work. We've hired him a couple times & the work he's done has been reliable.

He also gave me some great education as a new homeowner and what maintenance needed to be done to ensure my hot water heater lasts a long time. Something incredible happened today and if you have a minute, I'll tell you about it.

Our water heater went out ... the new one that was just installed in May 2016 from All Express Plumbing, who we were forced to use due to our Home Warranty. I called All Express to see if they could help and while waiting for a call back, read all their terrible reviews. So I requested a quote from Prescription Plumbing. Travis responded in, and I'm not kidding, less than 5 minutes. Insanely fast. But that's not the amazing part. He texted advice and then sent Reset Procedures to do it ourselves. Who does that?!?! Well, our new plumber does. I have NEVER had a service provider give such wonderful customer service at no charge. I'm so grateful that I now have a new plumber who I can trust. Don't read this part Trevor: now in a few weeks when I have him come fix our downstairs toilet and the leak in the kitchen sink, he could charge me anything and I would believe him.

It's embarrassing that I've given 5 stars for an El Torito just for letting me get an expensive entrée for my free birthday meal and refilling my iced tea. Because that pales in comparison to this 5 star experience. I wish there were more stars! Happy New Year everyone and here's to more decent people and places like Trevor at Prescription Plumbing!

Travis came by today for a small job to install a new kitchen faucet. He is beyond awesome! Communication was great, I sent him a message thru Yelp and got a quick response. Now that you and your kids are spending WAAAAAAAY more time at home... your plumbing might take a hit, or you might decide this is a good time to upgrade some things before they go down the drain (see what I did there?). I highly recommend Prescription Plumbing - Travis is just the best. Super professional, super nice, great communication... he just wrapped up helping us with a bathroom remodel and, as usual, did a stellar job. Over the last few years he's handled both emergency and maintenance/upgrade jobs for us - it's always a great experience.

They came out to give me an estimate within a couple hours. Very courteous and professional. Even tried to make friends with my annoyed chihuahua!
He gave me a quote and one more for worst case.
The later made me nervous, but I understand he has to cover himself in case things ended up worse that what he was able to see.
Well I scheduled the work and we are very pleased with the way it turned out. And it was actually the cheaper repair after all!
Great communication, replies quickly. Very respectful while they are in your home. Excellent plumbing company! Nice people.

So it was like 8PM or so at night, and I'm calling like 10 plumbing companies to see if anyone is available to come fix our restroom immediately. People wanted some crazy amounts of money just to come out within the next hour. I happily declined all of their offers. Eventually I find Prescription Plumbing on Yelp, and gave them a call.

I couldn't reach Travis over the phone so I texted him. He offered me so much help over the phone that we ended up fixing the problem, which saved Travis a trip, but ultimately saves me money and when you're saving money.. ya just can't complain! I would reach out to Travis for help again without hesitation if I ever needed it. Friendly guy with the know-how. If you're going to trust anyone with something, that someone ought to know what they're doing, and that someone is Travis!

We had a plastic pipe leak in the front yard near the main. We got few offers after inspection, Travis the owner was at another job but I really would like him to have a look because all of those 5 star reviews I had read about him. Travis was able to give us very reasonable quote by just have a look of the pic(of the landscape!!) I sent to his cell and described the problem via text message. He also said he could fix it today which is a big Plus as it's already 2, or 3 pm.
He showed up around 5 and job done by 6. Very friendly and informative. Would refer to anyone who needs this kind of services!

Travis is awesome! Put him on your speed dial for all your plumbing needs. I requested a quote through yelp and had a response within 5 minutes. He worked around my schedule and was prompt and on time (and it wasn't a 4 hour window). Additionally, I didn't even have a big job to do (kitchen faucet replacement). Despite being a small job, he was quick, responsive, and treated me like a big paying client. I can't say enough about Travis and Prescription Plumbing. Honest. Fair. Quality work! Highly recommend.

This is a hard review to write because it really didn't have to be this way. I'm a repeat customer with Prescription. I've texted with Travis, and I had Chris come out for a service call in March and he was quick and knowledgeable. I requested to have Chris come out again this week for a few things on a home inspection report. When Chris got here at 1pm, he basically couldn't do any of it due to liability reasons. The one thing he did was tighten a screw on a kitchen faucet which literally took two minutes...and he said there'd be no charge. I text Travis at 1:27pm thanking him and asked about an invoice estimate for replacing a water pressure gauge (one of inspection items) as well as stating they couldn't fix other items, and he starts to question me about what Chris did. Five minutes later, I get a knock on the door from Chris asking to take pics of pressure gauge. He comes and goes. I get another knock at the door about 15 min later, and it's Chris for a third time telling me that Travis said he wants to charge you half of a service call. I was shocked. I mean I understand this a business. I understand there are bills and employees to pay. But, how do you justify in good business telling a customer NO charge, and then come back not two times but three times and the CHARGE them? Not good customer service or business ethics... They were great up until this point, which is why they received two stars... I won't be returning and will definitely relay to others my experience.

***UPDATE from company's response: When you clearly state it was NOT my fault further proves that I should not have been charged. How do you charge a customer for an employee's error and not following company policy?

I had a bit of an emergency... I needed a plumber and I called several places, they all said they couldn't come in because it was short notice! I then found prescription plumbing and they told me that they would be there at 10am. And sure enough they were there at 10am... fixed my issue and advised on recommendations! My 91 year-old mother had a problem with flushing a toilet. She accidentally had flushed a rag down the toilet while cleaning. Travis came out & took care of it and didn't charge her for the call. Travis recently did all of our plumbing for our kitchen and bathroom remodel. This included faucet, garbage disposal, and water filtration install and he also rerouted our natural gas line to accommodate the new location of our oven. Travis did an exceptional job with all our plumbing and he is a very nice, professional person to have around working on your house. We had a fantastic experience w/ Travis of Prescription Plumbing. He is the owner / operator, so you're not dealing with a chain or bigger company that doesn't care. He takes the time that's needed and is super knowledgeable. I only wish we had found him sooner! We did our homework and got about 3 other quotes. Not only was Travis the most affordable but he's the ONLY one my husband felt confident that he knew his stuff. Don't call anyone else for your plumbing needs, Travis is the best there is!

Still working with Travis and still very pleased! He tracked down an issue that had been plaguing our plumbing system (which I thought was going to be a really tough and expensive problem) and fixed it completely with a simple solution. Told me exactly what he was doing, and when he was done, the problem was GONE - and it's stayed gone for six months since. It's rare to find someone who knows his craft this well. Like I said before, Prescription is now my go-to plumbing service, hands down.

A few years ago, we noticed that the carpet was damp on the ground floor. A neighbor and told me that we had a slab leak and told me to call Travis at Prescription Plumbing. He told me Don't call anyone else

We called Travis and he rerouted the pipes in question and told me that if it was his house, he would also reroute a couple other pipes that may be the next ones to leak.

I can't believe I haven't written a review until today. We have called Travis on at least 2 other occasions and he has lived up to the five-star rating each time.

Last week, my wife noticed that there was water leaking from the ceiling in the garage. We called Travis and he just came out today. I was fearing the worst. Leaking Pipe, holes to repair it, Drywall work, painting, and possibly new carpeting. I could imagine several thousands of dollars. Travis eyed the spot in the ceiling, investigated the upstairs, and told me that it was probably the gasket for the bathtub overflow. That's exactly what it was. The gasket was old, rotten and leaking.

Travis fixed the problem and was extremely reasonable for the house call. I am a very frugal person and I always try to find a coupon or a best deal, but whenever we have a plumbing issue, I don't hesitate to call Travis. He will give you the best service at a very reasonable price and he's a great guy as well.

I'll give anyone reading this the same advice my neighbor Jeff gave me several years ago, Call Travis, Don't call anyone else!

Travis is the best plumber I've ever used. Let's just start with that. He came out yesterday for the third job he's done for me since I moved into my house in Escondido.

He is always responsive in texts, easy to talk to, and he gets the job done right and always quickly and efficiently. I get an education in plumbing every time he comes. Three different jobs and I've always been happy with the results. You can't go wrong with Travis and Prescription Plumbing.

I get pretty generous with my stars but if I could give five more stars for Travis, I would. I haven't had recent work done by Travis but after having to get a different plumber in for a sudden pinhole leak over the weekend, it made me appreciate Travis at Prescription Plumbing a whole lot more which is the prompting for this review. In the past, he's done everything at my home from leak detection, to replacing a main line to installing new toilets and I was bummed he happened to be out of town when all of this occurred, but that didn't stop him from giving advice as simple as turning off the water or checking in on how things went even though he wasn't available, he still cared for me as a customer. And he still came to assess the situation after the remediation crew took out all their machines because I am interested in re-piping. Travis is the best of the best and I would suggest you keep him on speed-dial as your plumber for life. He's honest, thorough, and a good guy. You can't go wrong here choosing Travis as your plumber.

He was friendly, professional, affordable, got the job in one day and even explained how to use it properly and safely after he was done installing it. Funny enough, one of our pipes sprung a leak the following week just before we were supposed to go out to town. He came over just a couple hours after calling him and fixed it for us! I met Travis when I had a plumbing emergency on a Sunday afternoon. He came right out, stopped the flood and fixed the problem. And the price was totally reasonable! Where do I begin ....
I awoke to water on my bathroom floor yesterday morning ...but had no idea the cause. I have an upstairs condo so was concerned not only about damage to my unit ...but also my neighbors' downstairs. I looked online and initially called a 5-star rated plumber that came right over. He wasn't exactly sure of the cause, but discussed cutting a hole in the wall; removing the toilet; having a flooding company come out; and leaving me without a bathroom for 3 days to ensure the water dried. His cost would be up to $1000. He informed me that the flooding company would have their own charge; but he felt they could advise on how to have my homeowners pay their fee.
The news left me in a complete panic. I knew it was not something that could be put off; but I also couldn't foresee being without a bathroom for 3 days. I work from home; had company coming to town and it was my only bathroom.
I decided to have a second opinion ...thus enters Travis. I went online and was blown away by the reviews. Based on what I read, I felt confident that if he confirmed the first diagnosis, I could trust that was what was truly needed. He responded right away to my text; and despite a full work schedule; said he would come by on his way home.
As promised, Travis arrived in the late afternoon; diagnosed my issue; and was willing to stay (after already working a full day) to resolve the leak. He charged a tenth of what was initially quoted; left me w/o a toilet for less than an hour; fixed a few other small plumbing annoyances w/the toilet and shower (w/o charge); and did an immaculate clean-up job. I have never had an experience quite like that.
Travis was just what the doctor ordered and his work the perfect prescription. He has a customer for life!

I'm so thankful for Prescription Plumbing! We had low water pressure coming from our shower head in our master bathroom. A different plumber had come to our home and said that our valve needed to be replaced at a cost of around $500. That price seemed high to me, so I wanted to get a second opinion. I reached out to Prescription Plumbing on Yelp to get a quote, and they responded within an hour! They asked me if I had tried replacing the shower head. I had not tried that, so the next day I tried replacing the shower head. It was very easy, and it worked! The water pressure is perfect now! Prescription Plumbing ended up saving me $500 in plumbing expenses. They are friendly, responsive, and most importantly knowledgeable and honest. I will be using them for any plumbing issues in the future!

We had a large remodel job, stretched out over many months. Travis really came through for us, picking up the ball when an inferior plumber did an inferior job and stopped showing up.

Travis has been our go-to plumber for several years. We've called him out for problems with our toilets, our sinks, and most recently our water heater. We have found Travis to be honest and hardworking, who even has tried to troubleshoot problems for us over the phone to save us money.

When our water heater recently went out in our garage, he came out right away and installed a new tankless one for us. When we were having an issue with the water heater, he stood by his work and came right out and fixed the problem. I highly recommend Travis for all plumbing needs, as he does excellent work, is fairly priced, and very professional.

All the 5* reviews are telling the true story about Travis Mihalov. I called Prescription Plumbing 9:30AM on 11/2. Travis personally answered the phone. He patiently gave me an assessment of my water pipe leak problem. He said that he had three other jobs to do for the day and would try to make it near the end of the day, if not he would stop by noon next day.
3:40PM Travis called to ask if he could come to take a look since he had just finished all jobs. He arrived at 4:10PM. He found the problem of the pinhole leak in the ceiling like A. Monk. He repaired the leak with a copper coupling. By 5:30PM the house has running water again.

Agree w all the other reviewers. Definitely a keeper. 1st had PP here to install dishwasher several months ago. Done professionally & efficiently. Yesterday noted a leak in garage along a pipe passing behind water heater. Texted PP, & Travis responded promptly. Later suspected the water heater. Bottom line, did all the preliminary planning by texting, Chris arrived w new water heater & had it installed within the afternoon. Efficient, professional and all cleaned up before leaving. Travis even thought to explain the details of the bill when I asked for a breakdown. They currently like Rheem, Ruud & Bradford White water heaters.

Water around the hot water heater last night. I had nightmares of $1000 replacement heaters. Checked with Yelp this morning and called Travis at Prescription Plumbing. He told me he'd be done with another job between 3 and 4. He was at my house at 4:30, only because I didn't hear my voicemail!

The only tools we're good with in our house are the pen and the checkbook, so he could have told me he needed to replace the water heater. Instead, he looked at the source of the leak, tightened something, and told me it was done.

Since he was there, I had him look at two run-on toilets. He had the parts to fix them, got the work done, and I felt like I'd just saved $900!

Highly recommend Travis for his quality of work and honesty. And he's much younger than us, so I know we have a plumber for life, unless he changes careers!

Travis is AWESOME!! I just signed a lease on a new place and found out the master tub was clogged as I was cleaning...
I had one day to fix the problem before moving in. I called Travis and described the problem. He said he was in the area and would come by in about an hour. He was SUPER friendly, very knowledgeable, and very fairly priced!! I found another leak while he was here, and he fixed it too!
It's hard to find honest, quick, reliable business contacts...Travis is all 3!
I highly recommend Travis and his work. I'll be using him for any plumbing issues in the future! :)

Travis is key to a successful solution to any plumbing needs. He goes the extra mile every time we call him. Yes sometimes he is busy because quality like his is in high demand so when you can plan but know he is excellent with emergencies since our home was built in 1969. On this occasion we needed a new water heater since it was leaking gas. He not only replaced it he helped me install new Moen showerheads, angle stops and replace a toilet he made sure that everything would pass an upcoming inspectors report since we are planning to sell our home. The results: my new water heater is properly braced, has the drip tray and an outside release so no one can get hurt and the new fixtures and toilet look and work awesome. The inspector could not find any plumbing issues! I have insured the new buyers know who to ALWAYS call 1st. Happy New Year Travis and Prescription Plumbing!

I signed up on Yelp just so I could write this review.

Travis was great. He arrived on-time with everything needed to do the job, re-seated a toilet and installed a new kitchen faucet, and gave me a quick tutorial on the ins and outs of my garbage disposer. His communication was spot-on before and during the visit and worked around another repairman while doing the job. I have him coming next week for some other work and would not hesitate to recommend him to friends and family.

I anticipate him becoming very busy due to the great service he provides and the happy clients here on Yelp.

Update: he came the next week as planned, on-time and ready to work. Finished up the other toilet quicker than I thought. Also found out that he does water and gas plumbing for BBQ islands and firepits. Dangit...now I have that stuck in my head!

We have hot water again!! Our water heater stopped working (of course on a Friday). I found Prescription Plumbing on here and called. Within an hour, Travis was at my house inspecting the water heater at no charge. After a few short minutes he discovered the problem and found the part needed to fix it......all the way in San Diego.

He drove down to San Diego (from Oceanside - on a Friday afternoon), picked up the part, came back (after 3 hour delay in traffic) and replaced that needed part within 45 minutes.

Reasonably priced, great work, efficient and fast!! Highly recommend Prescription Plumbing!! Will use again..... now to the showers.... finally.

Tip top! You will not go wrong in giving Travis and his team your business. I know we are all weary of contractors who may cheat us, do a sub-standard job, etc., but we have had Travis at our house on at least 4 occasions now (from something as minor as fixing a toilet, to replacing a water heater), and he has been efficient, honest, and does superior work. Travis is dependable, reasonable, and knowledgeable. He first helped us a couple years ago for a rental property, and he charged a trip charge (expected) but kept costs down as he diagnosed potential problems. Fast forward, he's now helped us at our new house, and he responds promptly to texts and requests for help... he works with text pictures,etc. which I think helps both us and him to estimate job costs and time. Even better, he stands by his work 100%. He last came for a leak, helped fix the problem with new partial parts, but we discovered a new leak next to the old problem pieces He came back, without complaining about the new leak, fixed it without cost. I can't promise he'll do hat every time, but I promise he's fair and I trust him with both my family and rental property!

Travis and his assistant are professionals and courteous. We had a leak at our backyard faucet and also kitchen sink. They came right away and even gave tips on all kinds of questions I had about bathtub stoppers and water softener systems etc. They are both patient and efficient.

Travis is great. I had a few minor issues with my toilets and sinks. I'm not handy and I don't have a hubby to fix...so Travis did. He was thorough and educated me in the meantime. Initially I was bit irritated because he arrived 45 minutes late but that all changed. He solved my problem quickly! There was a bad smell coming from the sink and he told me how to get rid of it. I will definitely use him to take care of my rental property in the future. I would suggest that you ask for a time range as to avoid any frustration.

I've been avoiding leaving a review, because I don't want to share him. ;) Travis has been out to my house several times since finding him on Yelp - I think because, once you find a contractor you trust, you start scheduling all the projects you've been avoiding... Travis feels like a friend now - always making time to come out when we need him, has a real talent and skill (by my husband's high standards), and is always priced where we would expect. This guy just left my house! On a rainy Saturday morning this guy, Travis, was the only one willing to come out and fix the copper pipe attached to my water heater. He was here w/ in 90 minutes of me calling him.... did I mention he was in San Diego at the time I called him! Anyways, Dude took care of business. If there were 10 stars I'd give them! I moved into a home that needed all new everything plumbing! Travis worked for a time period of about 3 weeks. He had everything scheduled out, showed up when he said and charged me exactly what he quoted. He worked around other contractors and became my eyes and ears when I was at work. His advice and direction was priceless. He made suggestions that saved me thousands of dollars and had nothing to do with plumbing. I have been in my home now for two years and first met Travis at my previous home. I called him on a holiday weekend because my water heater wasn't producing hot water. No other plumber was available and the ones that were wanted to charge me a higher rate due to the holiday. Travis fixed my water heater and he was super nice and professional. I not only found my plumber for life that day but I also met a new friend and btw I am the CEO of a large real estate company and I don't hesitate to refer him to all of my agents when one of their clients need a great plumber.

travis, what a great guy! was at my house in 20 minutes when the idiots from home depot were coming up with excuses not install our dish washer. they destroyed our house barreling in and and with appliances scraping door and paint in my new renovated home. travis was straight up, said nothing was wrong, even told the 2 non american installers that nothings wrong and they walked out , got in there moving truck and zoomed away.travis was so sweet and courteous and we will call him again if needed. thanks travis :)

Water heater went out. Looked on Yelp for a plumber, and based on ratings I called Prescription Plumbing. Answering Machine came up and said I could text so I texted Travis and got a response a few hours later. He was very helpful in discussing the water heater problem. I was able to text him photos to help diagnose the problem ahead of time. He showed up the next day 5 minutes early and completed the job. I also paid 15 dollars less than what was quoted. Great service, very professional and informative!

Recently we needed a lot of work done at our home. We called prescription plumbing because they had great reviews. We needed to replace our bathtub and soon afterwards we had a leak under the slab. Travis replaced the tub and rerouted the pipes with pex A piping. Travis was very professional and did a great job. The work was done almost a year ago and we have had no problems with the plumbing ever since. I highly recommend this company for any plumbing needs.

It was a Sunday morning, 6AM, and a neighbor is pounding on our door. We had a fountain sized leak in our front yard, with water spewing upward and complete with bubbles. If it had only been someone else's yard it would have been impressive. We called probably 15 plumbers. Three called us back. Only one actually answered. It was Steve at Prescription Plumbing, Inc. Steve came over, on a Sunday, and dug up our yard, found the problem, and fixed it. We are so grateful as my daughter has 16 girls slated for an event, at our house, ALL NEXT WEEK! That's some serious bathroom usage! Once it was safe to turn the water back on (we needed to wait 4 hours) I did so. I could hear a ticking noise at the meter. I called Steve and he offered to come back right away and make sure all was good. Turns out it was because we were running our sprinklers (and I didn't want them on at that hour anyway!) We were able to problem solve on the phone, but that is crazy-amazing customer service. So, we greatly appreciate how Prescription Plumbing helped us out at a very, very reasonable price. Seriously, totally reasonable price. Highly, highly recommend.

Travis was a really nice guy with great costumer service. I was pretty stressed out about a serious clog that jammed my manual snake up. Travis could have charged me quite a bit of money to fix it but his prices were more than reasonable. He is composed and patient and non-judgmental. The big companies always try to sell me new pipes or expensive services. Travis just fixes the problem. It has been 1.5 years since he serviced my home and I still do not have any clogs. We taught me a little bit about plumbing and we talked about being fathers as I was expecting my first child in a few weeks. I never thought I could say being forced to hire a plumber would be such a great experience.

I had a bad plumber come out and horrifically botch an installation of a tank-less water heater (roto rooter). Travis came out and replaced the damaged plumbing, and insulated and pipes, restoring pressure and safe hot water to my house. He replaced damaged valves. He repaired the gas leaks roto rooter left and installed a safety vent pipe to protect us should the heater need to vent.
He put in a recirculation pump so we get hot water without wasting water (great money saver) and even replaced a toilet for us.
Travis is very professional. He does a great job at a fair price. He honors his estimates. He is on time.
Really, he is the model of what you want in a professional.

We found out we needed a re-route due to a slab leak and did our due diligence by arranging for several in-person estimates. Travis from Prescription Plumbing was by far the stand out candidate to do the job in terms of his prognosis, knowledge and friendly, professional demeanor. He's passionate about plumbing and it shows - he clearly takes pride in his work. We were concerned that our house would have holes all over the place but his solution was minimally invasive and the work was carried out faster than we expected.

I just moved in to a new place in Oceanside and needed expert garbage disposal repair after my efforts to reset the unit did not get it going again. I spoke with Travis and since he was booked up for the entire day, he gave me some advice of how to fix the unit. What a guy! Our Carpet was saturated with water into our bedroom from the bathroom, we were thinking we had a major leak and worst yet a major slab leak! Travis came over and discovered we didn't have any leak at all, was just water escaping the shower for years building up in the walls. He didn't charge us anything! I couldn't believe it, and he gave me good advice on what to do about the moisture in the walls and how to prevent it. I still cant believe he didn't charge us anything for his time and diagnosis!
