TIm is great to work with!  He does great work and knows what he's doing plus he goes the extra mile.  I've used other electricians from time to time and I have to say I'm always sorry when I do. I always think I should have just called Tim.  He is reasonable and gives you up-front pricing to do the entire job. You can count on him not to come back and nickel and dime you for extra work that he had to do. He scopes the work accurately and stands by workmanship.

It's too bad there aren't other trades who were as honest and dependable as Tim!

Tim has fixed many of my electrical problems due to living by the beach where moisture and salty air can corrode wires over time. We had what we thought was a dead outside outlet I called Tim from Mission Electric - he came out a few days later and solved the problem in less than 10 minutes! This guy is smart, honest and nice he will always be my first call for an electrician!

Tim is one of the most reliable contractors I work with. He always calls you back if he can't talk or he always answers the phone. Do you know how hard it is to get a contractor to do that?? He's always on time, super professional and clean with his working space. I called him because of his reviews and I had an emergency on my hands. We had Tim come out to replace a Zinsco panel in our remodeled condo, and we're so thankful we found him.
Before Tim, we had been in talks for the same project with a much bigger electrical company. See, our HOA required us to have a permit before we got this job started. That bigger electrical company told us of possible worst case scenarios and all that can go wrong and how expensive it was going to get with this project just to deter us from getting a permit. That company even had someone come out and quote us on the job, and then backtracked saying that quote wasn't right and now they needed to requote us for a much higher price- it was a mess! They had us so stressed out with all the 'what-ifs' and the possible costs.

In comes Tim! We had a week before a tenant was going to move in, and he had no trouble scheduling us in. He came in one time to see what he was getting into and told us the project was going to be no trouble. That same week he got us a permit, scheduled the inspector for a final inspection, came in the second time, executed like the pro that he is, and just like that this crazy project that had been lingering around for days was done!

Tim is really good at what he does, and when the inspector came for the final inspection at our condo, he looked at the job Tim had done and cleared us in a few minutes. Thanks Tim!

Very disappointed.    Tim spent about 1 - 2 hours at house reviewing work that was being asked - an old home rewire.  He indicated that he would get back with a bid.  That bid never arrived.    We are assuming he did not want the job.  We believe the professional action would have been to say that while at the house rather than keeping us waiting.  At this point, we would not trust hiring him.

This guy is a rock star electrician.  He does excellent work, arrives on time, gives good advice, and his pricing is reasonable.  The most reliable and capable electrician we have ever used.  A true professional.

We recently had our hot water heater replaced with a tankless that required an outlet nearby. Quick hot water heaters recommended Tim at Mission. Tim was able to squeeze us in to have a look at our situation and then came back at our scheduled time to install the outlet. Looks good and works like it should. A professional job. We had an additional need for an outlet behind the tv because I hate seeing cords. Done.

I needed an electrical outlet asap to provide electricity for a new tankless water heater.  He was not only able to do this on the same day but he came in way lower than the phone bid because he said it was easier than he had anticipated.  He was very thorough and explored all options before starting.

I also asked him to take a look at a pendant light, which he did and installed a new transformer that he had in his truck.  Two problems solved in one visit!  Tim is my go to guy for any electrical problems now, nice to know of someone skilled at their trade, easy to have around, and honest as well!

Owner Tim was enjoyable to work with. He is punctual, hard working and does amazing work. He installed all new canned lighting throughout my home, installed new directive lighting for a painting over my fireplace, installed under the counter and in glass cabinet lighting and created an automatic light for when you open the pantry door. He also hung lights for the center of my rooms and put dimmers on remotes in the master bedroom. It only took him 1 week to perform all of this work and his price was extremely fair. I'm in real estate and I always refer Tim to my clients if they have electrical needs.

Tim, owner, came in and just stood around looking like a deer in the headlights. I have a simple job to put electrical under my sink to install a garbage disposal. Never really said much or asked questions. Said here is the quote which was extremely high.   I can only assume it's because he didn't want to take the job and out bid himself. Not a good experience and a waist of my time

Tim was very good about listening to our concerns and what we wanted to have done.  He was polite and professional, and did the work quietly without wasting time.  We look forward to calling Mission Electric again and recommend Tim to anyone needing household electrical diagnostics or repair.

Tim is AMAZING!! I gave him a call one day and told him what I was looking for. He told me he would follow up with me around 1:00 the following day and he did just that! I called Mission Electrical Service on Friday night at 7:30pm for a fairly complex exterior chandelier install and Tim, the owner, was at my house the next day. He gave a great quote and a short time later the install was complete and beautifully done. I would absolutely not hesitate to work with Tim again and I highly recommend him. Great experience!!!!

Tim is awesome! I found him in an online search about 3 years ago, needing an electrician to restore power to a home on a Friday afternoon. Since then, Tim has handled dozens of service calls for our property management company. Everything from troubleshooting, panel upgrades, re-wires, outlet/junction box repairs, inspections, and code compliance--Tim is our guy! He's professional, responsive, fair, and great at explaining the issue and repair options.

I have used Mission Electric twice to replace outdoor light fixtures, hang a dining room chandelier, and replace some electrical outlets.  Responsive, timely, and thorough.  Tim was meticulous when he put up the chandelier ... he measure three times to make sure it was parallel to the wall and was extremely careful putting it all together.  Pricing seems very reasonable.  Highly recommend them.

Fantastic service! Tim not only showed up the same day, his work ethic was impeccable! When we lost power in certain rooms in the house, and the breaker was not resolving the issue he went to work immediately to find the source. A couple hours later after much detective work he did successfully, with determination and a commitment to customer satisfaction. What impressed my most however was his flat ratepolicy. We were not charged for the excess of time it took to solve the problem, and while he easily could have inflated the price of the actual repair, he did not. Honest, determined, and exceptional service- a rare find in this day and age :)

So I was walking through the Home Depot parking lot because I had a small electrical project that I was working on. I see Tim's Mission Electrical Service van pull up and I figure hey why don't I just ask him about some questions that I have regarding the project I'm working on. He was so helpful and gave me so much information in just a small five minute period of time. I could see why his company is so highly rated and now that I've spoken to him regarding this project I will be using him when I need the larger portion of my project completed for my company Cloud Dry Cleaning & Laundry Delivery. Such a nice guy everyone should really think about using this company.

We had an electrical outlet burn out and Tim came out to fix it. Since he did it so quickly, he offered to do any other electrical work at no charge since the minimum fee was for an hour. I appreciated his honesty and courtesy. I highly recommend!

Tim was AWESOME!  When I called him, he quoted the minimum fee, even if it was a simple as turning a screw to fix the problem.  I needed to get our electrical issue straightened out as soon as possible, and that was okay with me.  In my opinion, his minimum charge was very reasonable.

Tim said he would be at my place within 30 minutes, and he arrived on time.

After he arrived, he was professional, courteous, patiently listened to what had happened, and what I had already done to troubleshoot the problem.  Soon after, he went to work to figure out why I had a dead circuit.  Within a short period of time, he found the problem at an outlet that I didn't expect to find on that circuit.

He replaced two outside outlets, one of which led to the initial problem, the other was ready to be replaced, because they were both weathered and deteriorated.

Tim did a great job in my condo installing ceiling lights. He was on time, worked fast and the price was correct. Plus, when we had a concern about one light buzzing several months after, he came to fix the problem right away with no charge.

Tim is the man. I am a plumbing contractor who focuses on the customer experience. I don't do electrical work and therefore give tim all our electrical work. Over the years I have never had one bad experience. He does great work and I never have to worry about him jeopardizing my reputation. I give him a job and he takes it from there. All my customers love him. I pay what ever he asks because I know that he does things the right way and doesn't cut corners. A penny saved on a contractor is not a penny earned. It's a massive liability waiting to catch on fire or worse. Go with Tim, you won't be disappointed.

I contacted a few electricians in the area after reading their yelp reviews. Not everyone is willing to come out and provide a free quote (especially on a Saturday just a few days away).

Tim came over and we discussed the project.  I got one other quote but the other electrician seemed less professional and less knowledgeable.  Also, his price was higher and he wasn't confident it would be thee final price until starting the work.  A few other companies gave me pricing site unseen and I was not comfortable using them.

Obviously going with Mission Electric was an easy choice.  Tim hung three sputnik chandeliers in my vaulted ceiling and he removed the lighting fixture that was in another part of the room.  I was so happy both with the end result and his work throughout the day.  From all my interactions with him, it was clear he was very knowledgable.  He also came on time, took great care to not make a mess, and he cleaned up after the job.  I was expecting couple of holes in the ceiling and walls but he only cut one and screwed it back in neatly so all I have to do is a little patch and paint.

Once he installed the boxes to hold each of the chandeliers, he hung each one without connecting the power so I could see exactly how it was going to look and we could tweak the height of each one.  He was just as concerned about everything looking perfect as I was.

Working with Tim was all around a great experience.  Should I ever need electrical work done again, I will only call Tim.  I'd recommend him to anyone needing an electrician.

Hired Mission Electrical Service to wire in a spa at our house in Clairemont.  While I called on a few different companies in the area, I was most impressed with this one.  

His price was competitive, he was professional, and came highly recommended.  

He showed up to quote the work in uniform driving a van w/decals and license numbers etc.  He is not a fly by night operation or a moonlighter but a true professional who takes his business serious (I like that).  Wouldn't trust my house or safety of my kids (they play in the spa) with anyone else.

A fantastic job and a super clean install with the wiring and conduit well hidden.

I'm hiring him again in a few weeks to install outside lighting on the patio.

I had a few circuits go out at my place, so I yelped an electrician. Tim was the type of small business owner I was looking for.  Tim was prompt, courteous, and professional.  He explained thoroughly what he was trying to troubleshoot and got the job done in an efficient manner. I could tell a few minutes into conversation with him, that he was an open and honest guy.  Take care of yourself brotha, and best of luck with your business.  Tim will be my go to electrician from now on.

Being in the web design business, you could say electricity is an important part of us being able to do our jobs. We are in a new construction office and had an issue where our lights would constantly turn off on us. We couldn't be more happy with Mission Electrical's service. After discussing over the phone, we were able to get someone out to our office, same day!
We thought it was going to be a nightmare, but once Tim arrived, he had us fixed up within half an hour. Definitely would recommend them to anyone looking for a good electrician. Prices were reasonable as well!

I give this business 5 stars. I needed an electrical outlet last minute. I called other electrical companies before I found this company and did not get the service I wanted. When I called, I spoke to Tim. He was quick to set an appointment to come to my home. When he got there, he was courteous. He gave me options for the outlet and ways to save money. I loved how he was so clean. He covered the floor and furniture before starting his work. He even asked if we wanted his shoes off before entering the home.  He was very fast in completing the work. He even vacuumed the carpet. Awesome job. Highly recommended.

I had Tim replace my electric panel, ceiling fans, and light fixtures 3 months ago. There has been no issues in the 3 months since, and I am confident there won't be any issues arising soon due to the quality of the work. Tim was very professional - arrived right on the dot of the appointment, was well prepared, was meticulous in preventing any damage to flooring or walls, was organized during the work such that it was safe to walk around the work area, and properly disposed of the waste generated from the entirety of the project. I cannot ask for more from an electrician.

Tim is a *fantastic* troubleshooter! He was able to find and fix a very tricky problem with my 100 year old house! And he listens, which is great. I thought he'd underbid himself for the difficulty of the work, and gave him a good tip. KUDOS TIM!

Tim is super timely, professional and honest - we hired him to help us hang a couple chandeliers and then to upgrade the outlets in our 1920s home to GFCI.  He spent a lot of time with us discussing the most economical way to make improvements to our old electrical system and has been a fantastic resource for us.

I came back home and found the 3 light switches that control the same light fixtures along the stairway not working. Luckily it was in the afternoon so I could see a bit, but if it happened at night, I would be walking in pitch-black from the garage up to the second floor. I checked the service panel and tried replacing with new light bulbs, but they still weren't working. I'm a girl who doesn't know much about troubleshooting electrical problems so I didn't even attempt to fix it due to fear of electrocuting myself. Haha. But, thanks to you fellow Yelpers, I found Tim. He came an hour after the call on Saturday afternoon and figured out the problem. The two switches cannot be in the same position for the lights to turn on, which shouldn't be the case if everything was done correctly in the first place. It turned out one of the switches didn't work properly so Tim replaced it with a new one. Now, the light would turn on no matter what position the other switch is in. No need to keep track or freak out anymore. :) I'm so happy with his work and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for an honest electrician.

I'm an online IT Technician and my power keeps shorting out due to overloading. My job recommended this place. They are a little on the pricey side, but did a good job of repairing my overloaded circuits. Now I don't have to worry about losing work because everything sporadically shuts off. They arrived on time, did the job over the course of a couple of days and viola. I am extremely happy I can put this behind me.

They diagnosed my problem quickly over the phone on a Saturday morning of a three day weekend which led to a quick free of charge fix. They are great in my experience.

Tim charged me to come out and give an estimate on a Friday. $148 to be exact. I was given a quote for  $300 to fish a wire a few feet to the garbage disposal outlet/switch and one other outlet less than 2 feet away. I was desperate and tired of the problem so I gave him the go ahead. Plus who wants to pay $150 for a troubleshoot and estimate? He had to punch a hole in the wall to fish the wire over, which I asked him not to do. He then proceeded to tell me that in order to get power to my above-the-stove microwave, he'd have to run a dedicated line and tear up my (freshly painted) walls and ceiling, then gave me quote of  $900. I had previously had another electrician come out (free estimate) who said the same thing, only  he wouldn't tear up my walls and it would only cost $250 (DON'T TELL HIM WHAT ANYONE ELSE TELLS YOU, HE WILL EXPLOIT IT). I politely declined and paid him $450 to fish some wire to a few outlets. Total rip off.  

The next day I had Robert's Electric come out for an estimate. They also charge about $150 to troubleshoot and estimate. They fished the wire to my above-the-stove microwave outlet from an outlet he had fished power to the previous day for only $100 (so basically he could have just run the wire up to the other outlet a couple feet away). Problem solved.

Later that next day, I look under my sink and notice that there are wet paper towels in there where Tim had been working. Water is dripping from the hot water valve, all over my brand new cabinets and flooring. He must have noticed it was wet because he used the paper towels to clean it up! Only, he failed to mention it to me.

Another thing, he broke the (freshly painted) wall around every outlet/switch that he worked on and had to use spackle to fix it, and did so very haphazardly. You're an electrician and you cannot remove and replace a face plate without damaging walls?

Do yourself a favor, go to someone else. I wonder if those other reviews are even real.

Tim is customer service oriented, nice guy, fair but not cheap pricing.
He has done several jobs from upgrading service to moving electric panels and adding circuit breakers. Old building almost 100 years old and he had no issues. I would recommend him to anyone needing honest , clean, and prompt service.

Great service. They were very pleasant to deal with, and a technician was available to come to the house the same day. Arrived exactly when they said they would, did a good job, and had reasonable rates.

Tim was great.  I had a circuit breaker go out on me, so I got on yelp and requested some quotes from different electricians.  Tim replied promptly and was able to come out the same day that I called him, all the other electricians couldn't come see me for a couple of weeks and asked a million questions before I could even set up an appointment!  Tim asked me to explain the problem, asked where I lived, and then told me he could be over that afternoon.  The fact that I didn't have to talk to a receptionist for twenty minutes was huge since time is money, and I don't have time to talk on the phone all day!  He arrived and quickly did a troubleshoot and found the problem.  It was a quick fix and he was open and honest with me the whole time.  Essentially, one of the circuit breakers died so he switched the breaker location and had everything up and running in no time!  He even worked on an additional problem that I had with a power outlet being fried on my patio.  He switched that out quickly as well.  Before he left, he went over the problems that he fixed, and made sure I was satisfied.  He never rushed me and didn't try to nickel and dime me by stating there were additional problems with my circuit breaker.  Overall, it cost me $178.  I would have payed around $100 more if I went through his competition.  I will be using him in the future since it is so hard to find honest tradesmen now a days!

Tim, the owner of MIssion Electrical Services, was professional, prompt, and courteous.  He came out to my house and replaced my breaker panel, after thoroughly troubleshooting my system.  He also recommended some changes to my kitchen lighting, which I had always felt was way too dark.  I now have a newer, safer breaker panel and a new kitchen (because I can see it now!)!  Highly recommend this service!

I was referred to Tim by my student intern.
I manage vacation rental property in La Jolla and Mission Beach. My brief story is:
SDG&E shut off the electrical feed to one of my property's and just left a note on the door with no explanation. I called Mission on a Friday at 2:00pm left a message and received a call back in 15 minutes. Tim was at the property by 4:00 pm and committed to the repair Saturday at 8:00 am. He was done by 4:00pm on Saturday and that is where he really stepped to the plate. SDG&E after telling us we did not need a permit reneged on the commitment to turn on the service after the repair and required a city inspection and permit. You and I know this is code for city work and fees. Tim took care of the permit on Monday, Met the inspector on Tuesday, and arranged the SDG&E turn on of the electricity on Wednesday. This fiasco was created by city and SDG&E bureaucracy whose business ethics are deplorable. It's a breath of fresh air to see how customer service oriented individual businesses like Mission Electric are to deal with.

Called Tim since we had several outlets not operable. He investigated the outlets and panel and determined that one of the outlets were faulty creating a chain reaction to the other ones. Also, he determined that our floor steamer had a possible leak causing the breaker to pop. The service was prompt, professional, and friendly. Will do business with Tim again in the future.

I have lived in my home for over 25 years and have had a number of electricians put in downlighting, hang chandelier lighting, fix electrical circuits that are overloaded, put in landscape lighting, install motion detectors around the house, add light switches, etc.  Tim is by far the best electrician I have ever had.

I called him because he had helped us out when our tankless water heater was installed several years ago.  My plumber knew him and recommended him.  Several weeks ago, I left Tim a message stating what I wanted and he promptly returned my call.  He arrived in a day to survey the work that needed to be done and then emailed me a written estimate.  Tim's estimate seemed reasonable considering the amount of work he had to do.  He got rid of track lights in 3 bedrooms and put in downlighting, His judgment as to how many LED lights I needed and where to place them was perfect.  In addition, he replaced dozens of track light fixtures in another room where downlighting could not be installed.  He did this at my request for a certain sized LED bulb I wanted in the fixtures. He did such a nice job that I also had him change out the light switches and plugs throughout the house.

Tim always arrived on the day he said he would and was always on time.  If he knew he might be even 30 min late, he would text or call me.  He was neat, professional in every way, and extremely knowledgable.  I am so glad I found him to do the work!  He's the best!

Tim is great and has reasonable pricing on projects.  He's very accommodating with last minute requests.

Today I had an electrical problem and found this electrician by using Yelp. He had good reviews so I called.  He did come to my house the same day, which was great.  He fixed the problem for the call out price of $148. I don't have any arguments with his work, but I have a HUGE problem with his attitude. When the job was finished, I asked him what the problem was that he fixed (we didn't know why we lost power only in one room.)  He said, Where is your husband, I will tell him.  I said to him, That's all right, my husband makes me do all the repairs around the house, so I will understand what you tell me.  He again said, Where is your husband?  My 47 year old son who was also in the room, said, I'll go get him.  Only then did the electrician tell us what he had fixed. I asked him to explain one of the things he said and he literally rolled his eyes. I thought he was going to walk out of the house right then, but he then answered my question. He was looking at me like I was a demon or something.  I guess there is such a thing as hate at first sight, but this was the first time it happened to me.  So I guess this will be the first AND last time I use this electrician. He probably wouldn't take the job from me anyway, lol!

Tim just completed a 2 day project for me and I only have wonderful things to say about his customer service and quality of work.  He did some rewiring as well as running several new feeds.  He arrived on time, worked hard, and was very conscientious.  He took the time to understand exactly what i wanted him to do and was very patient with many questions.   I am a hard customer to please and Tim exceeded my expectations and on top of that his prices were reasonable.  Thanks!

I contacted Tim about installing a ceiling fan in a location where there was no existing fixture/power or attic access.  Tim's initial quote was substantially less than another electricians so naturally I went with him.  He was able to quickly and professionally complete the project and everything looks and works great!  On top of this, the final cost came in at the lower end of his quote.  Needless to say, I would highly recommend Mission Electrical Service!

We got our entire house rewired with Mission Electrical Service and we could not be any happier with their work. Tim, the owner, did the job himself. It was a 3 weeks job and he worked on our house every day. He was super respectful of our privacy, cleaned up after he finished every day and most importantly got the job done according to his proposed timeline.  We almost did not notice that anybody was working on the house. Thanks, Yelp!  The 5* reviews led me to call Tim when I had a whole house electric shutdown on a SUNDAY.  He was here in half an hour, listened carefully to my confusing problem, told me what the analysis would cost, and figured it out.  Then he got SDG&E out within an hour -- it was THEIR issue -- solved the problem and got the power turned back on.  And I can probably file a claim with SDG&E to repay me for Tim's very reasonable charge!

Maybe a little more expensive than some others, but you definitely get what you pay for.  Tim did an awesome job solving all of my problems and will certainly use him in the future when I need things done right the first time.  He was able to resolve several mysterious electrical issues with outlets, breakers, etc. and installed a ceiling fan in no time flat!

Tim, the owner of Mission Electrical Service, is very professional, prompt, and very knowledgeable.  He responded to my service call at 11pm and came on time the very next day, which was a Sunday.  He was able to determine the problem with our breaker panel and was able to fix the issue promptly.  He also educated me on the amount of amperage the bedroom breaker was using.  Overall, I was very satisfied with Tim and would highly recommend him to anyone needing electrical service.
