I needed a major panel upgrade and sub-panel to bring power to the backyard (to power a new gate) pretty quickly. It was the CA raining season and they came when the weather allowed and completed the install in 2 days. Fully inspected and passed without issue. Mike and Robert have been doing this for a while and they are both great. Friendly, responsive, efficient all that you need with electricians.
They recommended all the right things and got me squared away in no time at all. I got a few quotes and they were not the cheapest - but do you really want to cheap out on electrical work?
They are local and we want to support local businesses. That means they care about the neighborhoods they work in.
If you need a licensed, responsive and local professional electrician - then they are your team. Can't recommend them enough.
We agreed to meet at 9am. He couldn't make it and did not call or text me with a heads up. Common curtesy? Maybe they think they're the only ones with jobs and places to be.
I highly recommend Mike's Electric Company. Mike and his partner replaced the recess lighting, ceiling lights and fire detectors in my home. I could not be happier with their work. They are also both really nice gentlemen which made for an excellent service experience. I will be using this company for my future electrical needs.

My electrical box was arcing. It was pretty startling and I called and they came right away to check it out and made sure it was safe. They neatly installed a new box and in the process fixed other issues I was having with the electric on one wall. They worked with me and my landlord for payment. I will be recommending them to my neighborhood!

While I had what seemed to be a small problem -- a light switch went out -- I was unable to find the correct breaker and thought, to save my skin, I'd find a local electrician here on Yelp. Mike, and his son Robert, were fantastic at how quickly they responded to my inquiry, gave me a quote, and scheduled an appointment for the first thing the next morning. All on this site. Robert called just before he arrived and was absolutely on time. We all appreciate prompt and courteous contractors, right? Our home was hand built in 1936 and the wiring, which Robert told me was knob and tube is quite quirky. It took a bit of time to check out all the possibilities and, as happens with using top professionals, I learned quite a lot through the process. Robert also showed me how this type of wiring is susceptible to rats chewing through the aging tubes of cloth which cover the bare copper. He gave me valuable information about other reasons to consider re-wiring our home to update it sometime in the future. Yet, he also checked out everything to let me know our electrical system was currently safe. There is nothing more important, so that was a relief. Robert gave me his card, and it is now in my contact list should the need arise. I will not hesitate to call again with any electrical problems and, certainly, Mike's Electric comes with my highest recommendation should you need electrical work.

Mike and his business partner were very professional. They were on time and did everything we asked for and even fixed another little problem they noticed. We were grateful and satisfied with their work. We would definitely use them again.
I'm not a tech or electric savvy person. I called Mike and he was quick to respond. Mike and Rob came the same day and helped install an automatic light switch for me. I had no idea what I was doing! Also, they were kind enough to double check the outlets as well to ensure they were working properly. Mike was honest and even recommended that instead of building out more outlets, it's cheaper to buy an extension.
Overall, I highly recommend Mike and Rob. I will use them again for future projects.

We have a very defective solar power system that is inert because the installer scammers put in an inverter that they knew was defective!
Mike's Electric Company is the only professional who is actually helping us out with the problem.
Great guys!!! I have used them twice for different jobs and always professional, easy to communicate with and great attention to details!! They upgraded my electrical about a year ago and added outdoor outlets a month ago. Excellent work!! Highly recommend!!!

They came out to give an estimate on a small amount of work. I thought it was too high, so I hired another well-known local electrician and they did the same work for half of what Mike's had estimated. They seemed eager to find problems where there weren't any.

Mike and Robert are THE BEST! They know what they're doing, they're reliable, trustworthy and considerate. Challenging to say that about vendors these days, but Mike and Robert remind me of how things used to be. They have done two jobs for us here in Pasadena. We 150% recommend them. Wish we had more electrical work to be done!
After receiving a couple of referrals from others in the neighborhood for this company, I called them, along with 2 other electricians, for bids on installing an electric vehicle charger and a fan. While they seem to be knowledgeable about the process, etc., offering 2 options on how to install the EV, their estimates were about twice as high as the other 2 electricians (who were only $25 apart). I am not sure if they just didn't want to do the work or what, but that was highly disappointing. I went with an electrician who the neighbor down the street uses who does a lot of EV charger installs. Make sure to get multiple estimates.
We've had Mike do several different jobs at our house. He's added outlets, fixed broken outlets, and installed a new electric meter/box.
He's good. He calls you back, he shows up, and he can work well with the city inspectors. His work is clean, the results look good, and I'd use him again. Also, I appreciate that he explain what he is going to do clearly and explains how his pricing works so I know what the different options are going to cost.
I'd hire him again.
We had an issue with our electrical panel and a circuit that had burned out the previous evening.
Mike and his assistant were at our house within 45 minutes of us calling him. My husband showed them the problem, Mike replaced the damaged part and he fixed the issue very quickly.
We will definitely call Mike when we have another electrical issue. He is excellent.

We bought two outdoor lights to replace the ugly ones that came with our house a year ago. They've been sitting in a closet until I found a decent electrician. I finally got sick of looking at them, and asked for quotes. Mike contacted me immediately and quoted me a really fair price ($150). He came to my house within the hour (on his anniversary no less) on a Saturday, installed the lights and they look great!! I will absolutely call him again for our next electrical issue!
Mike and his son, bob, were very friendly and helpful. They took the time to examine the electrical box and discovered frayed wiring that was the cause of the problem of the trip. It was a quick fix, but they also stayed around long enough to ensure the unit was powered back on since the trip caused the whole unit to reset and we needed an emergency HOA personnel to travel out to the complex and provide access to the electrical breakers to reset. This was an extra 30-min wait to ensure everything was fully up and running.

Mike contacted me almost immediately upon receiving my request for a quote. He and Robert came to my house the very next day and installed my security light which included running new wires to the outlet. They removed my old light and replaced it with a new one that I had purchased. Once mounted, I decided I didn't really like where it was placed. Without hesitation, Mike and Robert immediately moved the light to a move desirable location.
Before leaving they took care to make sure work area was left clean. I will definitely be using them again.

Great father and son team. They work efficiently, and changed out three broken switches in less than an hour. Best of all, price is more than reasonable!
He Showed up! i have been having a very hard time finding an electican who can simply show up.
BUT it was very hard communicating with him. The work finally got finished taking 2 trips instead of 1 and involving the landlord when we were told that he did not need access to the main panel.
Also when it was all over he installed the 2 plugs that he was hired to install in the WRONG place. Then he argued with me about it.
both plugs were to be installed BEHIND the TV's on the wall and instead for some reason he installed them OVER the TV so that the cables show. He argued with me about this and said i am being unreasonable.
I have had over 10 flat screen TV's mounted on the walls in all my offices and every electrician before this comprehended that the power plug goes BEHIND the TV not above so that wires show.
So if you need work done that looks like you live in a 3rd world country this company would be great to do it for you. If you want quality work done i would not recomend them.
I hired Mike to ground and install 10+ wall outlets in my new condo (two-prong to three-prong), replace switches, and install GFCI outlets in my kitchen and bathrooms. He showed up for a quote on a Saturday and after we agreed upon the price he actually started work right away! Mike finished the entire job in about 5 hours time (over two days) and did it in a professional and friendly manner. The price was quite reasonable and I would recommend his services to anyone in the area, especially near Pasadena and the SGV. Thanks again Mike!
My company starting using Mike 2 weeks ago when our usual electrician wasn't available and we were in a bind. He went out RIGHT AWAY and solved the problem at a VERY fair price and we have used him 10 times since and have made him one of our regular electricians. Mike is the best Electrican one could ever ask for. I have used Mike for over 20 years and would never call another electrician under any circumstance. My air conditioner was not working and the problem was in the panel box. I called Mike and he came out to check and diagnose the problem which he did. He went out of his way and came the next day to install a new panel box. To save me money, he transferred everything from my old box which could not be used any more to the new one utilizing the wires etc and left extra spaces for additional breakers if ever needed.If he did not do this I would have had to have gotten a single box which would have cost twice as much. It took Mike 8 hours while working thru lunch. He is returning tomorrow to neatly place labels on all the breakers. Mike goes beyond the call of duty. He's clean and neat and reasonably Priced in his work. You'd be a fool not to call Mike if you needed an electrician. I am a woman and he doesn't take advantage of it as many men do.

I've had a really good experience with these gentlemen. Mike and Robert are always really quick to call back, which is highly unusual for electricians. Their work is high quality and they are polite and professional. I never felt like they were giving me the run around or taking advantage of my ignorance in the field. I would definitely recommend them for all of your electrical needs.
Mike was prompt and reasonable. I called him early in the morning for my tenant's issues. He showed up within the next hour. He did a thorough inspection of the problem. I would highly recommend his services.
I had an issue with one of my recessed lighting fixtures. I thought it was just a bulb that went out, but when I replaced it with a new one, it still would not turn on. I called Mike and he was able to come by within a hour. He and his son Robert were able to take apart the fixture and diagnose the problem (broken transformer). Within an hour they were able to replace the part and the light was back on.
Great service, friendly and a fair price. I would recommend Mike for any electrical issues you might have.

Called Mike when our electricity malfunctioned. Mike and Robert came out within an hour of my call. An electrician that I had used before failed to connect our panel properly. Mike hokked me back up right away. He diagnosed the problem and then called the city out to review his plan so all hs work would be legal. The city approved his plan , Mike and Robert did the work as promised and yesterday I received my letter of approval from the city. The job was done in a very professional manner. Mike and Robert are really good and fair people. I will definitely call them with any electrical work that I have in the future.

Had electrical problem in our house called Mikes electric and they were out in less than hour and a half. It was a difficult problem to diagnose but Mike and Robert were able to fix the problem it was gratifying to see Mike and Robert work in harmony to diagnose and correct the problem. Mike Tannous and his journeyman (Robert) exceeded my expectations in an electrical contractor. Mike provided sound advice and a competitive estimate when my wife and I needed to replace our breaker panel on our 1952 house in Pasadena.
Robert and Mike secured the permit, worked with city officials and diligently and expertly did the replacement and repair over a natural two week time-line. They always kept me informed with phone calls.
I could not say anything better but the best in terms of Mike's knowledge, expertise, care, attitude and integrity. Thank you Mike Tannous (and Robert too)!

I called Mike when I had an issue with my panel. He was at my house within 30 minutes and addressed the issue right away. His price was extremely reasonable. I highly recommend him and look forward to doing business with him in the future.
Super nice man. Came right away. But, $125 to change one wall switch is too much compared with others I've used. My opinion. Plus, he told me after he'd put up the new switch that the problem was with the dimmer not working on our new types of light bulbs. So, I really didn't need a new switch...just de-activate the dimmer. Again...seems a nice man.

Mike is a true professional who goes the extra mile to help those in need.
I was installing a tv above my fireplace for the Superbowl and didn't realize i needed an outlet in the closet that would store all the components like cable box, DVD and wii . Mike came out the same day with a very reasonable rate and could come the next day. He came on time and was very friendly, clean and professional. I would definitely recommend him to anyone. And he was not a hard sale.
