On June 1 2022 12:57pm we contacted Mike's Electric for a kitchen fixture repair. We heard from him on Thursday, June 2nd at 3.31pm asking if he should come later that afternoon or tomorrow. We said tomorrow would be okay. Never heard from him on Friday. We let it slide due to the weekend.
We never heard from him again. He did not attempt to arrive or to call us at all. Terrible customer service.

I called him at 5:30 pm on a Sunday night with an electrical emergency. He was there in less than 3 hours. He stayed 2 1/2 hours to fix the problem and was there until 11 at night. He fixed my emergency problem and discovered problems with several of my plugs. He charged me a very reasonable price (less than I was expecting to pay). He is very nice and professional. I called Mike for a unique issue with a new insta hot water heater that needed to be wired properly. My old heater broke and I had a plumber install the new heater but the previous electricians who had installed the old one did a very poor job. I called Mike and he showed up on a Friday night to survey the problem and was back on Saturday to do the wiring. He fixed a lot of the issues with the bad wiring from before and got the heater working properly and safely. His work was through and top notch. I couldn't recommend him enough.

Hired Mike to not only install 3 fans but to also lower the electrical box that holds the fans in place and drywall around the open crevice. He came out, quoted me and began work the next day. He arrived with his team that all work on different things at once to make the process as quick and flawless as possible. They also had a team member strictly dedicated to the cleanup who would clean as they went on with the job. I am more than impressed with there work ethic and quality of work. Mike was great. I emailed him at 1:00 am and he responded in 20 minutes, came next day. He came and replaced a circuit breaker in my home on Labor Day 2020. He replaced an aftermarket part with an original part for my 1965 panel. He readjusted the position of the breaker and it worked great and was solid no sparking. He found the issue right away. He also tested the load of my AC pump which he showed me everything he did. Thinking about upgrading breaker box in the near future to eliminate future problems with an old system. He was running a little late but he is working 15 hours a day right now. I was pleased and would call again. Nice to use a locally owned business in these times. I called Mike to install a new ceiling fan. It was suppose to be a simple job and turned into bigger job.
-Mike was able to put together everything without a correct instruction manual in the box. A total expert.
He also has an incredible team working with him to install wiring.
-Anthony crawled into my attic in super hot weather and did an epic job. Very amazing electrician. He definitely deserves a raise!
-Marcos was also professional and great making sure everything was perfect before he left.

Great team that goes on and beyond call of duty to ensure satisfaction! Good price too!

Miguel was really good at communicating and setting up an appointment for me to have the wiring in a light switch checked. It had a tight space for connections and I couldn't get it to work. Miguel quoted me a price and sent an employee to my house.

The electrician installed my light /plug outlet, knowing the outlet part was fried (by me evidently but I did not know that at the time). It was beside a double plug outlet which functions, but I would have paid for him to replace it with a working one if he had it available. Then the employee charged me 10 bucks more than I had been quoted by Miguel...

Miguel called to follow up and I let him know what happened. I also let him know that I would have preferred that his employee up-sell me to replace the unit with one that wasn't fried.

Miguel quickly offered to come by personally and fix the problem, but somehow schedules didn't work out and I didn't hear back from him... Bummer.

My bet is that Miguel is a good electrician, but also a busy business man. Eventually I'll get back into the box and try to fix it again.

Found out the issue was the breaker and had extra breakers so he repaired it without leaving the property. Price was fair and the service was excellent.

We called Mike services to fix certain electrical component systems after buying our new home. He was running late during our first appointment, this was understandable. So the day the work has to be done, things were going smoothly. We went to go pick up some lunch and our kid from school (~45 mins) and when we came back, there were 2 guys working and a child.

THE ISSUE: The garage had water puddles and we asked what happened. They said that the child just wanted to dip his feet into the pool, but he got hot so he splashed his head with water. We would've believed them and be okay with it but the kid was soaking wet! From head to toe. My husband said that it is not professional and it is a liability issue if something were to happen to the kid in OUR PROPERTY. Also they should've had the respect to ask if the pool could be used. They acted pissed talking about it's not a big deal like its a public pool. After 10 mins they went to pack up and leave and said they wouldn't finish the job that we hired them to do.

I honestly had no problem with the kid soaking his feet and playing by the pool if they would've asked us first. But the fact that they lack the respect to ask to use someone else's property is really troubling. And they proceeded to act like we were in the wrong for expecting some professionalism on their part.

Mike was extremely helpful and quick in resolution for a surprise electrical issues over the weekend. We got in touch with him and he held to his promise to come check out our issue after he finished a schedule job. He was fixing our breaker box at 7 pm and even went to get the untypical parts needed to finish so we'd have power before he left us.
He was friendly and upfront about the issue and the recommendations he was making and the installation done. I know if i has to work late on a Sunday, I wouldn't be that pleasant so he gets multiple thumbs up from us. High recommendation for any job you may need!

What is confusing is all of the rave reviews stating how he was a pro, and prompt, and generally awesome. Contacted Mike for some electrical work. He booked a 3 p.m. appointment and then never called or showed. Messaged him at 3:30 to see if he was delayed somehow, but no response from him. Nothing. Now 2 hours later I have called someone else for a different day. Too bad, if he was good I would have referred him to my clientele and friends. I am really not sure how these people stay in business by being so flaky. I wonder how they decide to either show up or flake out. Is it a magic 8 ball decision or something? No call/no show is a strange manner to conduct yourself with people who want to pay you for services. I'm only disappointed that I couldn't give zero stars. Call at your own risk...he may be awesome if the tarot cards say it to be so. For me, this review closes the chapter on his company forever. No excuses for wasting several hours of my time.
Update 2.5 hours later apologizing for being busy and asking if I was still free. I don't understand this. All it would have taken was a call or text at the scheduled appointment time.

Great service.
I had an electrical emergency with my electric panel on a weekend and searched for electricians online. Mike responded and came to my home on a Sunday. He came back out the very next day with two of his workers and took care of the issue. Very professional. Great work at a fair price. Called because we had exposed wiring in our attic. Was charged over 1,000 to clean up the wiring and to replace 2 switches. Workmen was sent over and was not very polite or receptive to questions. Asked him to take pictures before and after and he said he would, but did not receive pictures. When replacing the switch he broke it and tried to quickly put the cover on. Had Mike look at it and instead of replacing it for free he tried to charge me double the amount to replace it even though it was his workmen that broke it. Then I had additional work done in my attic and it was brought to my attention that there were still exposed wires, and I had to hire another electrician to do the job I paid Mike for.

We needed an outlet replaced in a hurry. I called several companies with excellent reputations on Yelp, but all were unable to help us within a week.

I called Mike and was surprised when he answered the phone. He was working on another project, but said he could be here in a couple of hours. True to his word, a couple of hours later he stopped by and replaced the outlet very quickly.

He is extremely friendly, professional, and reasonable. I definitely recommend his services to everyone!

I used Miguel a few days ago when we had an electrical outage in our area. When the electricity was restored, our townhouse was still without electricity.
I called several places as soon as they opened, but Miguel is the only one who answered and just by luck was able to come to our residence and assess the problem.
He is very personable, upfront, and he fixed our problem. We had to replace our switches for the main breaker bc it probably burned out. Thank goodness!!
We loved Miguel (im guessing Mike is the other electrician) and we hope to use him to fix other electrical issues we have in the future!

Mike came out on a Sunday to add a line for 240v A/C window unit. Cut the new outlet and patched the area. He also rearranged the breakers in the panel plus fixed an issue in the panel we weren't aware of. All for the same price.

His response to our call was quick even posting the note to him on yelp Friday night. He is a professional electrician and frankly a nice guy. We have saved his number for later.

I asked for a quote and Mike asked me a bunch of questions and had me take photos. After I went through the trouble he asked me to do he never got back to me, so I asked him if he was still interested. He said he was and I still never heard from him. I then again asked him what the story was and he wrote back I got distracted. That was the last I heard from him, and at this point I wouldn't let him on my property if he cannot even complete a conversation, what confidence can I have that he would complete the project?

Over two months ago, I needed a ceiling fan installed and an outdoor motion sensor light fixed. I reached out to electricians via Yelp. I heard back from Miguel from Mike Ramos Electric first. He did not give me a quote right off the bat but he agreed to come on the day I needed. I heard back from other electricians and they quoted me $150. I messaged Miguel who said his price would be $180. I asked if he'd do the job for $150. He agreed.

His guys that showed up were very kind. I had already put together most of the ceiling fan and had even already hung part of it. They tried to upsell me and have a $100 part installed in the ceiling which would take another hour. I declined. They hung the ceiling fan but never ended up looking at the outdoor light. I messaged Miguel afterwards and said I felt ripped off since they basically hung the ceiling fan for $150 (which was twice the price I even paid for it at Lowe's) and never looked at the outdoor light. Miguel apologized and offered to send me a refund of $30. I thought that was acceptable.

Now two months later....I still have no refund. I sent him a message three days ago and still haven't heard from him.

This is not the way you do business. I do not recommend this company. I'm very disappointed.

I mistakenly bought a 220 stackable washer dryer combo and found out I needed a gas powered dryer. I asked Mike if he could install a 220 power supply, which he could do. I was very disappointed in my experience with Mike. First, he was over 2 and 1/2 hours late for my appointment and never once called me to apologize or let me know why he was late. Every time I called him to ask him about the delay, he would give me a new arrival time, no apology, and still no arrival. After 2 and 1/2 hours of waiting, I called him again and he told me he would be there in 30 minutes . At that point I cancelled the service. If I could give him a zero, I would. I do not recommend hiring Mike due to his unreliable nature and lack of manners.

Called in Sunday evening with an electrical crisis. 4 of our lights stopped working when a handyman came to replace a laundry room light. Miguel answered and was very helpful. Since he wasn't near our area in Gardena, he sent out someone named Samuel. Samuel was really knowledgeable and fast. He was in and out and fixed the problem within 1 hour. Only gripe is the price. Just had Miguel Ramos and his helper Samuel out to house to hook up my jacuzzi. Found him here on Yelp and answered the phone the first call. After explaining what I needed Miguel was very straight forward and confident that he could do the job. We set up an appointment for an estimate that believe it or not he was on time for. Upon arrival I explained what I needed as far as my wires going under my house for my 240 volt and stood back as Miguel's knowledge took over. He open my aging electrical panel on my house and tested a existing breaker stating I was lucky and the panel could handle the job. Miguel explain that he would need to make a couple of holes below the panel to feed wires threw the wall and under the house to install something called a disconnect on the side of my house to connect the jacuzzi to. After looking inside the control panel Miguel told me that I wouldn't need a CFCI plug that it has to have by code because it already had one. I asked what it would cost as Miguel tallied in his mind what he needed a price that seemed very reasonable was agreed upon. We agreed with the old fashion hand shake which made me feel comfortable I was hiring the right licensed electrician to do the job.

The day of the job, which by the way was 2 days later, Miguel alerted me by text that his helper was going to arrive first and he would follow after picking up the larger gauge wire needed for 240 volts. It was so awesome that they we on TIME. They installed this long 8 foot ground rod like 7 feet into the ground. Even know there was wiring already to the jacuzzi Miguel disconnected it and replaced with new wire. All of the mess was cleaned up as the worked and when they were finished the only way you could tell they were there was the jacuzzi was running.

Very friendly and knowledgeable!! Highly recommended.

if i could give more than 5 stars mike's electric deserve's it! i called him on a sunday@ 12;00 noon after calling several others with 5 star reviews. he answered! i run a business and we were having 2 people coming tonight for sleep testing, and my kitchen lights were not working. he told me he would be here around 3:00 pm and he showed up! fixed the balis rewired a little 140 dollars later done and back to business as usual without too many grey hairs. i have found a keeper electrician for any electrical need i have. thank you mike for allowing my business to run successfully tonight, and have light in our kitchen! any electrical problems call mike!

I called Mike on a Saturday morning as I had lost power to all my electrical outlets in my home office. He actually answered his phone, no answering machine, amazing. I told him my problem, he said he was on a job and he would be able to come by with an hour or so.

He came as scheduled and spent 1.5 hours tracing my problem which turned out to be a wire had come lose in a bathroom plug.

Mikes Electric was a life saver! My unit didn't pass inspection because a few of the outlets didn't have grounding which was odd because all the other outlets in that room were grounded. You would think this would have been an easy fix; however, it was not. Mikes checked each outlet to find the root of the problem.. to my surprise, the problem was a faulty grounding wire in another room of my home. Mikes work was very affordable and done with pride. I would definitely have him on speed dial if I ever need electrical work done.

Found the first electrician that popped up on yelp. Mind you this was mar 01, 2015, which is a Sunday. Since I was calling an electrican early on a Sunday I had to ask for an estimate. I described some lights and outlets when out. He said he could give free estimates but trouble shooting (since I didn't know what the problem was) would be 95$.
Long story short, he and a helper came out about 25 minutes later. Took apart and tested multiple outlets and bathroom light fans. He was here from about 915 to 1045, but didn't have cash so he followed me to 7-11 to get money. He ended up charging me 120 and it was about 1115.
I highly recommend Mike!! Never met him before but he explainded everything and let me look over his shoulder so I could learn a little bit.
He also have me a quite to replace my pannel and breakers. He will be back soon tondo more work for me.
Only thing I didn't like is the clean up from when the clip wires or drywall sprinkles out of the wall and gets on stuff, but that's pretty standard just bugs me.

Contacted Mike earlier today around noon. A couple of hours later, he's done replacing my kitchen fixture. Very down to earth person. I can tell he cares about the customers. Goes above and beyond. Responds in a timely manner. Reasonable price. Quoted price is what was paid. He will definitely be my go to guy for anything electrical in the future and I will highly recommend him to everyone I know!!!! Keep up the great work brother!

Friday 5:00 pm 80 percent of office bldg outside lighting not coming on and its dark. Called Mike and he came in about 75 minutes. Got our lights to work. Came back on Monday and replaced faulty relay switches in electrical panel. Great man. I give Mike 5 stars.

Just had a great experience with Mike Ramos! I had a power line go bad in my bathroom. After some troubleshooting, Mike was able to offer several options to repair the issue and he quickly resolved the problem. He was friendly, reasonably priced, personally answered the phone each time I called and he was able to offer same day and next day service. He was very professional and very experienced. I will definitely use him again if I have another electrical issue and I give him my highest recommendation.

HELP! Aunt called in need electrician asap. Call after call no one available. Next morning called Mike Ramos, explained our aunt situation. He understood and send help that afternoon. Yet! Mike did a job for me 1 year ago and he did it well. Last month when I had a problem I called Mike and he was very helpful. He told me what the problem was and that I needed to call Edison to have it resolved. Mike was so honest he even told me he was saving me the 65.00 service call. He may not have made any money from me that day, but he definitely gained a lifelong customer.

Mike did an excellent job helping our organization install an Eaton 9PX11KPM Uninterruptible Power Supply. This is a 10kW 11VA unit with modular batteries to power our data center in the event of a power outage. He was able to identify exactly what was needed to get the job done and at a fair price that beat the competition. He is knowledgeable, friendly, and a true professional in the field. As far as the electrical work is concerned, Mike got the job done and I would recommend his work. I removed 1 star because communication via email was very difficult. It took a while to get a written estimate, and then once I signed the estimate and emailed it back, I got no response that they received it, or that they would begin the work. I later called and we got on track and Mike got the work done. I don't think this would have been an issue if I had been in Long Beach, but I was not. Overall, this was a good experience.

I highly recommend Miguel of Mike's Electric. He is very fair and very safe, which are two important qualities to have when trusting an electrician to work on your home. After I verified his license online we hired him. He originally came in to install 3 ceiling fans at a very fair quote, but he ended up cleaning up a lot of residual nasty and dangerous knob and tubing that was hiding in our 1929 Long Beach cottage attic. He even rewired my closet, installed a new light and switch and didn't upcharge us. It took a little longer than we expected, but that is because he did much more work than originally planned. It is nice to know that we have a reliable guy we can call on and that we trust. Also, his assistant Eric is great too! They both were so patient and friendly and let my 17 year-old cat help them do their work. Eric even cleaned up after her when she threw up in his work space. Gross!

I wasn't too pleased with the over all work done. I have been needing some electric repairs and a lot of electrical work done and when they sent out one of their electricians he wasn't very informative or polite. I like to know what they are doing and why.
