Thank you, Jet, Jim and Jake.

I made a mess of simple DIY project, causing me to lose power to a portion of my house. I called, and someone showed up within a couple of hours and resolved the problem quickly.

I had called two electricians prior to Jet. One didn't answer and the other told me they were too busy.

The pricing was reasonable and I appreciate simply having an invoice mailed to me.

We had our furnace replaced 4 months ago by some knuckleheads.  Today we go to use our AC for the first time, and nada..... no fan, no cool air, nothing.  Furnace guys come back several times over last 3 days, each escalating the problem to a higher up guy.  UGH.  I look on Facebook for recommendations in my n'hood and everyone lauded Jim Tarp and JET electric.  It's 100+ degrees and I'm in meetings (while SIP)  all day for work, my brain feels like it is melting.  I'm desperate.   So I have my husband call Jim.  Jim replied WITHIN MINUTES of receiving our VM. He had husband take photo of our electric box thingamajig and then, by phone, walked my husband through resetting the breaker.  Jim said it was a simple thing and not worth charging us for an on-sight call. We have a million small things going on with our home and Jim will be our go to electrician for all.

Jim the owner was very helpful, sent his partner out within hours to help us out a and identify our grounding.  Three other companies couldn't come out for weeks to months.  One company was going to charge us to find our grounding.  Jim is knowledgeable, kind and efficient.  We so appreciate your quick response and help.  Thank you both.

We had a fifteen-year old under-cabinet halogen light plugged into an electrical outlet in the kitchen (tile backsplash). The outlet had a loose wire which, after being fine for twenty years, finally gave out. The outlet was original to the house (1997). The outlet overheated and melted down, incidentally, when no one was around to see the flash or smell burnt plastic. While we know rudiments of electricity, this meltdown was beyond our knowledge and we felt we needed an expert electrician's opinion and treatment. We shut off that circuit at the circuit-breaker box. I felt very anxious on how bad the damage was, and was it likely to happen again.

We left a couple messages at JET, and within a few hours, they called back. We made appointment for the next day. Rick came out the next day (a Saturday). He clued us in what had happened, and fixed everything. The meltdown was a fluke, and did not extend past the outlet itself.

Rick took the outlet back to the office. He said he wanted to show it around because he had not seen an outlet melt down that badly in a long time. He said that it could have been worse -- we were lucky but in any case, such a meltdown would not have burned the house down, even if it had happened with an outlet set in drywall. I can rest easy.

That said, as an aside, halogen lights get very hot, are obsolete, and are a fire hazard. We are going to remove all of the halogen under-cabinet lights and replace them with LEDs. Electricians are correct in steering customers away from halogens for under-cabinets. Use LED or fluorescent!

Over the years, this is something like the fourth time we have needed an electrician where we have called on JET. Each time, JET has been very good.

I  was assigned to Jet Electric by my home warranty company American Home Shield (AHS).  Jet electric came and fixed 1 of 3 problems.  The technician told me AHS does not cover replacement of an LED fixture.  I asked them how much it would cost to repair and was told $150, which is a lot for replacement of a fixture.  He then said if I gave him a 5 star review he would do it for free and said he would come back. It was all a lie.
I called AHS and they informed me the item was covered.  I never hear from the Jet Electric again.  When I called AHS to request another electrical service company I was told I had to use Jet Electric again, but they assure me Jet Electric would assign a more senior technician and they would call me the next day to make an appointment.  They never called. When I called Jet Electric they said the only technician is the one who tried to con me.  I refused to have the same man back in my home so I was told they would see if they could find someone else and call me back.  
They never called back once again.  AHS called Jet Electric to ask them  to assign another  technician and Jet said there is no other technician. Jet Electric strung me along for 3 months.   I highly recommend you avoid this company.

I got a bid to replace my electrical panel and the cost was going to be $3400.  So, I called Jim at Jet Electric to get a second quote and he came out and inspected the panel and said it does NOT need to be replaced.  Imagine that - Jet Electric saved me over $3,000!!!!!!!!!!!  Wow and Thank You!

We had an issue with a couple outlets in our house not working and our washer and dryer constantly going out without any ability to resuscitate it. We are so happy we found Jim, as we placed a call one morning and he was out at our house the next day! He quickly diagnosed our issue as being a burnt circuit peace, and he was able to not only fix it, but install a few more outlets in our garage to ensure that our washer and dryer would safely operate from here on out. It was such a relief to have someone who not only understood exactly what needed to be done, but was also an absolute joy to learn from and talk to  throughout the process. Thank you Jim! We now know who to call if we ever have any other issues!!!

I've been very happy with Jet Electric's work.  They've done several jobs for me now, and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.  Jim Tarp is a standup guy, and it's reflected in their work.

I'm especially glad and grateful that he helped me out of a bind-  when I needed some work done RIGHT NOW.  He got it done.

The only downside-  their bandwidth and availability has recently been reduced due to circumstances beyond Jim's control.  I hope it's just a temporary setback.

Jake is a Gem! He was able to get a broken screw out of an electrical box, in order to replace with a new one, & fixed 2 others. Now all my kitchen outlets are working. He was fast Did a great job! I have to replace some other outlets with GFI, & I will definitely Call Jet!

JET Electric installed a 50 am fused disconnect at my house. Great job. I left a message for Jim in the evening and he called back the next morning. Come in for a quote the same day.

They installed everything on time, very clean. Friendly team. No problems.

He went to work  with a great attitude and solved several problems. I would work with Jake any time and Jet Electric is on our list of preferred vendors.

Over charging without a quote: I called Jet Electric for having a problem with my outdoor fountain. Jim called me back. I trusted him as he is local in Morgan Hill where I live. I cancelled a previous electrician appointment which was from San Jose with a very reasonable price. Jim never gave me a quote on the phone and unfortunately I assumed his technician will give me a quote on site. When his electrician Jake arrived to my house he reset the GFI and told me I needed to replace the pump taking less than 10 minutes of his time. I asked him for a quote. He said he does not deal with money and that I will be getting an invoice from his office.  Later I get an invoice for Jake's 10 minutes visit way more than I expected and much more than the previous quote which I cancelled from San Jose. They even wrongly included a call fee. When I called Jim about it, his conclusion was telling me to let this be a lesson for me to ask for and to receive a quote prior to agreeing for any service person to come to my house. He even threatened to sue me if I didn't pay his invoice, although I never indicated that I will not be paying it and merely asking him to review it and reconsider. Not a good way to treat a customer.  Please be careful with these guys and request a written quote prior to accepting their services. There are plenty of electricians in San Jose with more reasonable prices.

JET Electric did the electrical work for our new office space.  They were fast, courteous and 100% professional.  Jim, Jake and Rick got everything we needed done in a very short time and left our new space tidy and totally functional.  I *highly* recommend them.

I called Jim in the AM was here before noon. I asked for lights to be put in the concrete steps/walkway. Jim was very honest in stating this was not his expertise and recommended that I call a landscaper. I was very impressed and appreciated his honesty.

We had a new ceiling fan installation in our guest bedroom.  Jake from JET electric came out to install the fan.  He was so helpful with this new fan installation and also noticed some wiring in the attic that was potentially dangerous and didn't meet code requirements.  It was an easy fix that he took care of for us.  We had some remodeling done in the past and that contractor either never mentioned or failed to notice, that we had the problem.    Jake worked quickly and efficiently.  He then patiently explained all the functions of the remote control for fan and light operation.  His knowledge along with his cheerful and helpful attitude was so appreciated.  Good Job, fair price, friendly, competent and helpful attitude,  arrived on time.......Can't go wrong with service like that..........Thanks, Jake and thanks JET Electric

My family in gilroy has been using Jet for a year and a half now. We have been very impressed by the service they professionally provide. They are a family owned small business and at times very busy. I noticed a particular review stated that patience and time is needed for them to return calls as well as setting up a scheduled appointment. This is not an opinion, but my own belief, I accept that very tiny minor inconvenience for the quality of work they provide. This is just my opinion and understands in this world, everyone is entitled to think and feel the way they do. Maybe when it is a time constraint issue as well as an emergency, let Jet know and if they are unable to provide their services as it is time sensitive, it is a customer's free choice to go with a bigger company that is able to handle the big jobs like Wong Electric that service AT&T, Safeway, and etc. I feel that sometimes I forget that I cannot change people, places, and things outside of me and the only thing I can change is myself. Or sometimes I feel entitled just because I am a customer, I am always right, WRONG! My point of this review is not to take sides, but to be appreciative of this particular business's honesty and the quality of work that they have provided since 1979. Thank you for coming out to my mother's and sister's house.

After reading the reviews, I gave JET a call and left a message.  Call was returned in a very timely manner.  Jim came to the house as promised (on a very short notice), surveyed the situation, made some recommendations, and it was full steam ahead.  Very pleased with the quality and timeliness of the work.  Highly recommended!!

Their sales prevention team is fantastic. Takes DAYS to get a call back to provide a proposal and doesn't return phone calls. When they finally do take the time to come out and do a site visit to get an idea of the scope of work involved, they make I think I'm about to poop my pants faces. WHO DOES THAT?! And...apparently they don't do weekends either because they have to pay their crew overtime. Well..yeah that's kind of a given. Brutal...just brutal.

We decided to opened up Family RV Inc in Morgan Hill and contacted Jet Electric to look at the facility and let us know what we needed to do.  Jim came out and spent hours at the property and explained what needed to be done.  Later on we had Jim come out and once again did a great job of discussing the work to be done and connected up our building properly.  Jim was highly recommended and did a great job at a reasonable price.  Thanks Alan

Jim sent Jake out to try and find out why our exterior lights suddenly stopped working.  Seemed that one of the deer had stepped onto an exposed pipe joint breaking the pipe at ground level and in so doing crossed a wire shorting the fixture and three others.  Jake worked the problem backward until we found the broken pipe and spotted the short.  He had some of the grey pic parts and I had the others in stock in my home.  All together and in 45 minutes it was operating just like new.  Jim kept calling and bothering him on the cell phone urging him to work faster ( not popular in view as Jake was working diligently and safely).  Anyway, we had one other circuit that needed attention but since we hadn't put it on the original call, and since Jim the boss was harassing Jake again we just decided to call someone else. Ah well.

I used JET Electric for some remodeling in my Kitchen. Actually another contractor had been a no show so I called these guys from a Google search. They were able to come out the next day, gave me an estimate and were done the next day! Very professional, clean workers and did a great job. I would definitely recommend.
