I've used Rick twice in the last four years -- first he was introduced by our real estate broker and he did a number of traditional things -- added lighting along the wall of our staircase, added an additional outlet in the backyard, added can lighting to our master bedroom, etc.

Recently, we wanted to add a single outside outlet to a patio that we have, and I reached out to Rick to do it, and then proceeded to add 6 other tasks of similar nature (more can lights, redoing our landscape lighting, adding a light to our outside) and Rick was highly responsive  to our requests and finished our projects in one day.  The cost was competitive/as-expected and it was a pleasure to work with him.    He reached out after the fact to see if we were satisified (which we were) and I'm sure he would have fixed any issues.

So we have used him 2X and will reach out again when we have electrical needs.  Thanks!

Rick was able to move our electrical down to unusable space. We now are able to use this extended living room in our home. He was very professional, knowledgeable, on time and cleaned up when he was finished. We appreciate all of his work and will be using him in the future for more projects:)

Their phone number associated with their business goes to a voicemail for a scam insurance agency.  This is from both Yelp and their website so at the least they are probably not the ones you want to solve an electrical problem.  Their phone number doesn't work. Or is wrong.
So zero rating because they don't care or keep up.

Rick has helped us with multiple projects and a few electrical emergency repairs.  He is very responsive, efficient & knowledgable.  Rick is very easy to work with & pricing is fair.  We are happy to have found an electrician we trust.

I had reached out to Rick Gleason to schedule an appointment to look at my outside lighting and waterfall. When we connected via text, he asked what the issue was...I explained the problem. He was able to troubleshoot via text. He walked me through...Due to his expertise, he was able to guide me. The problem was fixed! No in-person service. And to add, he contacted me on a holiday weekend!! Best customer service!!! Will definitely use Gleason Electrick again!!

I highly recommend Rick and Austin from Gleason Electrick!! I was so impressed with Austin and how he stuck with our electrical issue until he figured it out and got the job done, especially after two other people were unable to get to the root of the problem. He had a great attitude while working in the hot sun and finished in a very timely manner. I've hired Rick now for two jobs in my condo. The first was a few years ago when I needed to replace my smoke detectors. He was very easy to work with and did a great job, so I hired him again this week to replace two ceiling fans. His associate Anthony was able to come by when it was convenient for us and installed both perfectly. He was courteous, friendly and professional. I also feel like the prices Rick has set are much more reasonable than most quotes I've gotten. Will definitely hire them again!

I called Gleason to install a new chandelier where there was no electrical in the ceiling. I was forewarned that drywall repair may be needed.. They came, installed perfectly (despite no attic access), added a dimner. Fast and professional.

Outstanding group. I hade a GFI outlet that wasn't' working. I can usually change it out without a problem but this time that still didn't' fix it. I tried to troubleshoot with my limited knowledge and experience on these things then realized I'd better call a professional because I didn't want to do anything that could get me zapped. I did a little searching for a local electrician with good reviews and settled on Gleason Electrick. I Called and left a message then was contacted by Anthony the next day via text asking when would be a good time to talk about my problem. I appreciate that because I am busy throughout the day and wanted to have time blocked off to talk about my dilemma and what I tried. I figure the more info he has the quicker/easier the job is for him. Anthony was easy to talk to and understanding. We set up a time for him to come and even contacted me earlier that day to let me know that he had become available to arrive earlier then we agreed. Couldn't take him up on it as I was still at work, but I appreciated that. Once I was home Anthony had arrived and entered through my garage with mask on and stayed socially distant. I showed him where the problem outlet was and he had asked where certain things were and he did a quick check on those before working on my problem outlet. Anthony did his diagnosis and even suggested ways to save me money before carrying out the repair. He was able to fix my outlet and had time to check over my circuit breaker box and talked about other things to look out for because I live in a condo and he has worked on other units in my complex and seen some common problems (another thing I appreciated). The next day the outlet was not working again! I contacted Anthony and he responded promptly. Talk about things to try and he helped me to find that the outlet he repaired was connected to another GFI outlet in a different bathroom that I had to reset. Not his fault and wasn't a big deal. But I'm glad he took the time to help me work it through on the phone before having him come out to fix a problem by pressing a button. Overall, glad I got to work with Anthony from Gleason Electrick. I'd use them for future work.

Rick and Anthony installed a CAT6 TV cable for us today.  It needed to go through an unfriendly crawlspace and down through a plate and between studs in a 70 year old wall, with properly installed connectors at both ends.  They made it look easy, but I know it wasn't.  The result was neat, clean, and they were finished in a little over an hour.  I couldn't have asked for better.

A couple of months earlier Anthony installed two longer CAT6 cables that required not just good electrician's skills but also ability to solve the sorts of problems that show up when you try to change anything in a 70 year old home.  Anthony didn't just do what I wanted done, he did it better.  Of course I called them again.

Every interaction with Rick and Anthony has been spot-on. From the way they communicate (even when I once had to go with someone else due my family's time constraints), to the work they do, these are our go-tos.

Rick was recommended by my neighbor who has known him for decades. I had numerous jobs including two sconces, chandelier, 4 ceiling fans, and two outdoor security lights/cameras. The price was very fair and the work was completed in a timely manner. They went out of their way to make sure I understood the plans and took time to set up everything in great detail to my preference. Anthony and Rick were great to work with and would highly recommend them to anyone who needs electrical work.

Gleason Electrick came recommended by another electrician who wasn't able to compete work at my condo. It was a very last minute emergency, needing someone to help me on a Friday afternoon ASAP, so the entire project doesn't stall.
Rick was very responsive and quickly coordinated info over texts and pictures. Within an hour he committed to helping me out. He was able to show up first thing on Monday morning and able to complete the work in an excellent, professional manner without any issues. This was not an easy project, as the unit is older and wiring was tricky. His team knows what they are doing.

Rick and his crew are timely, polite, efficient and priced appropriately. We had to rework some electrical in our newly built home and all we had to do was say what we wanted and it was done.

Rick had completely rewired one of my previous home which was a huge endeavor with lots of surprises and he kicked em down like bowling pins. It was a 1950's home we upgraded to a 200 box and rand ground to all the outlets, doubled them and added a bunch more. He took me to the 21st century and did it with ease.
That is why I returned and will again.

Gleason Electrick was very helpful in replacing a few ceiling fans, trouble shooting and making some recommendations for other projects under consideration.

I had two ceiling fans installed by Rick and his crew member. I was referred to Rick by the Big Ass Fan Company. The make amazing fans with cutting edge design but, they have no installers of their own in San Diego County. It was my very lucky day when they introduced me to Rick.

Simply stated, the work was flawlessly performed and quickly with a very reasonable fee for service.

Additionally, I had Rick to diagnose an outside photocell light problem I have been plagued with for months. Again, Rick quickly and competently made the correct diagnosis and repair.

I have no higher praise than to say he is the best.

I have an espresso machine that uses a lot of power, so I had Gleason Electrick put in a dedicated outlet just for the espresso machine.  He sent his assistant who did a great job and only took about an hour.  He ran the power from outlets at one end of the kitchen that aren't used very much, drilled a space in the wall and put the switchplate at the other end of the counter.  So now I can happily use my espresso machine without worrying that when I turn on lights or whatever it will short out.

Cost:  $250.  If you know contractors, you know that's a pretty fair price.  And since Rick is an electrical engineer, I always feel that he really knows what he's doing.

Rick & his guys always do such a great job! They do it right the first time! We had some really tuff jobs & they handled them with ease. Would highly recommend them!

I was having some lighting problems in my kitchen it could have probably been fixed simply by a handyman but something shorted out my entire house and I was afraid it was related to my kitchen light. I called this business to have my smoke detectors replaced. The owner,Rick, sent young man Anthony to do the job. Anthony was punctual, pleasant, neat, and obviously competent. He did the work (of replacing six units) in a little under one hour.
I thought the cost was a bit high, but I confess I did not research the market, as I was mostly concerned about availability and word of mouth recommendation.

I live in San Elijo Hills in San Marcos. We bought a house and decided to go with Gleason since they were local and seemed to have good reviews. The owner, Rick stopped by to give us a quote and we felt confident that he would do a good job. We had light switches, recessed lights, a chandelier and ceiling fans we wanted installed. Price was reasonable. Then the shit hit the fan. Guess who showed up to work on our new house? A bunch of kids that didn't know their ass from a hole in the ground.  They misaligned the chandelier, screwed up every ceiling fan but one, and left my drywall in shambles. I would not let them fix anything even if they paid me. They do sloppy work and if you want your home value to go down go ahead and hire them.

Rick came by to trouble shoot some non working outlets.  He solved the problem very quickly and gave me very important information on what I would need to do if the problem cropped up again. He did not offer services that were not needed, just fixed what was wrong. I so appreciate the honesty.

I called Gleason Electrick to modify a job I had them do at my rental property last year.  The change was a request from my tenant.  The original work was done correctly, on time and on budget.  

This job was done as excellent as the first job.  On budget, on time, and Rick fit me in on very short notice.  

Anthony's work was excellent.  He knew exactly what to do with my minimal direction.  I couldn't stay at the site till it was finished but Anthony called me afterwards to let me know he'd finished, what angle he'd set the security lights and also the timer setting.  He also let me know everything was easy to adjust if I wanted a different angle or time.  

I have used Gleason Electrick in the past at my primary residence and will consider them for our remodel in a few years.

You won't be disappointed. Rick came in a while back , did his work fast in under an hour to keep our payment down. Anthony came in today and fixed a electrical problem for a great price and a really good job. He also showed me the entire way what the issues were and why they needed to fix it. I had a electrical outlet fail but also have too many things on one circuit. I was explained why what we needed to do but also got the faulty plugs fixed.  Great job. They are the best!!

Huge thanks to Anthony for helping us out today. We had an exterior outlet problem that had to be fixed immediately. I called Rick Gleason and within half an hour Anthony was here and fixed the problem. He upgraded a few of the materials and fixed the problem very quickly. Rick is my neighbor and a good friend. We moved into our SEH homes 14 years ago before anything was even built in here. 3 electrical contractor companies inspected our two unit condo complex and informed us that all the problems were traced back to our main power box outside.  Replacement was their recommendations at the tune of between $4500 and United Plumbing and Heating quoting $5545.  Rick Gleason of Gleason Electrick came out and tested the outside power box, something neither of the other 3 did to measure circuit voltages and amps. Rick was very easy to get a hold of and was able to send a technician out quickly!  The technician was right on time and was one of the most polite contractors I have ever worked with!  He assessed what needed to be done, offered me the options that could work and not be a fire hazard, then ran to the store to get the necessary supplies and completed the job quickly.  Fantastic experience and I will be using them again as well as sharing their information with anyone who needs an electrician!

I highly recommend Gleason Electrick. I called him yesterday morning because the delivery people wouldn't install our new washer and dryer until we had a new outlet installed due to a pedestal washer accessory thingy (still trying to figure it out it's purpose). Anyhow, he came out first thing today for a FREE estimate and said he could come back to the work tomorrow. When I told him we were pressed for time (running out of clean underwear, going out of town, etc.) he made it a point to come back to do the work today. He is highly recommended and used throughout our community, now I understand why.

If you live in the Lacosta/Carlsbad/San Elijo/Encinitas or greater San Diego area, these guys are awesome. I'm sure their day isn't as easy as this, but I had a non-emergency electrical need and they made it a point to get out to my house same day. The technician was professional and courteous, but best of all did it exactly everything he said he would from showing up on time, to completing the job effectively and quickly. Would not hesitate to recommend these guys to anyone.
