So my parents started our company back in 1984. My mother ran the scheduling/billing side of the company, while my dad went out on the calls. Everyone loves talking to my mom on the phone, and every customer loved my dad. As of 3 years ago, he officially retired, and passed it down to myself. I've assisted him on jobs since I was 15. Ive learned invaluable techniques and skills that you can't learn in a book. I'm forever grateful for what he has taught me. So I have big shoes to fill, but since I've taken his place, I've gotten nothing but positive comments from our customers. So I'm making them proud. My parents taught me the value of being honest with the customers, and it definitely goes a long way. So I look forward to helping you with all of your plumbing needs! Had to replace some angle stops and had some issues with the dishwasher. Justin's gave a reasonable quote and came over and knocked out the job quickly. You can tell he's a pro. I'd recommend this guy any day.

The faucet in my tub/shower kept leaking even after I had the cartridge changed out several times. I was told I needed the valve replaced and to get to it they would have to go through the tiled shower wall. Justin came and put in a whole new system in a little over an hour. The price was right and he didn't have to damage the tile.
I also had a toilet that was 'running'. I replaced the flapper myself but it didn't solve the problem. Justin found another leaking part and replaced the toilet 'innards' which fixed the problem.  
Justin is a nice guy who shows up on time and knows what he's doing.  I trust him.

Justin was fabulous.  He came right on time and was able to fix the problem in the bathtub within minutes.   He was very honest and did not overcharge me.  (He even tried to help me with my problem over the phone before coming out.)  

He took the time to answer some other questions I had about potential plumbing issues in the house and I feel very confident about calling him and scheduling an appointment in the future.

Justin is the plumber and his mom Debbie coordinates the jobs.  I first called because a drain was clogged, and they don't do drains but recommended someone who did.  Then, I had an old toilet replaced, followed by replacing a rusty sink and an old faucet.  All the jobs were scheduled quickly, and Justin's work was done with care and skill. Also, the work was reasonably priced.

We absolutely love Five Star Plumbing! It's an owner-operated company that is reasonably priced and has completely reliable and excellent service. We've been using this business for over 20 years, starting with Greg, Justin's father and mom, Debbie, answering the phones. Now that Justin has taken over, we continue to deeply appreciate the skill, expertise, professionalism, and can-do attitude that he brings to the job every day.

In 2008, we moved away from San Diego, but always counted on Five Star for help with our rental house. Then last year, late 2022, we had to help a local family member who needed to sell her home and move into a Senior Living community. It was an older house with outdated plumbing and needed an upgrade from top to bottom. Justin was fantastic! He came out several times to help us troubleshoot problems and brainstorm ideas before he even started in order to do the job in the best way in the proper order at a cost-effective price. He did everything from installing new sinks, faucets, toilets, a dishwasher, garbage disposal, ice-maker line, and drainpipes to replacing a leaky valve on a tankless water heater. He even tore out and hauled away an ancient water-based heat-pump furnace in an overhead closet and capped it off in an hour and a half, after several HVAC guys had shook their heads and quoted us up to $3,000. Talk about a can-do attitude!

Justin was always on time, upbeat, flexible, amenable, and able to handle anything. And Debbie, who answered phones in those days, was always extremely helpful at setting up appointments and brainstorming issues. Since we had worked with her throughout those many years, she feels like part of our family too. We have never written a review before, but Five Star deserves one after all this time. We highly recommend!

The kitchen in my house has double-sinks and they share a one handle faucet with pullup sprayer. My problem was that the faucet handle was broken after 14 years of use. I was asking for help to either repair the faucet handle or replace the faucet if the handle cannot be repaired. Justin and his mom told me that the faucet was still covered under warranty even after 14 years of use. They helped me to identify the manufacturer and gave me the manufacturer's support phone number. Calling the phone number, I got the free parts for the faucet handle from the manufacturer. I would like to recommend Five Star Plumbing to anyone who needs plumbing work done.

Your plumber search is over. Five Star Plumbing is all 5 stars and more. If they serve your area and if they have the time for your project, go ahead and schedule your appointment. Their service, professionalism, know-how and overall value is very hard to come by anywhere else. I have dealt with various plumbing issues with my house over the years with different plumbers, but from now on, I will only call on Five Star Plumbing for help.

Five star plumbing is amazing. Debbie spent so much time on the phone with me just trouble shooting and advising. When they came out to our home to fix the issue, it turned out the original water heater manufacturer sent the wrong part. Five Star didn't charge us for that visit and kept helping us through the process. At the end they helped us get the correct supplies and parts, fit us in their schedule and had hot water running before the weekend. Their integrity is rare. Thank you guys!!!

I don't usually write reviews, but just had to do this one.  If I could give 10 stars I would.  Five Star Plumbing is amazing!  I manage several rental properties and recently was in desperate need for plumber.  I found him based on other reviews on Yelp and I can't thank the others for the helpful reviews and to Justin for living up to them.  He is quick and fair and knows his stuff.  I will recommend him to all of my clients and will use him for every property I manage when a plumbing issue arises.

I dread having to find a good plumber.  What I thought was a simple swap of an old fridge turned out a bigger issue upon finding out the water valve need to be replaced with a different size.  Thankfully there are great plumbers in the area with Yelp showing me the way to 5 Star.  I lean more toward helping local family-operated business so chose this one even though there were only a few reviews.  This business is extremely responsive via the Yelp messaging.  They work with you in scheduling even asking the right questions in preparation of their visit so you don't waste time.  This included knowing where the water shutoff is and if you have an HOA, knowing to secure approval within an appropriate timeframe.  

Justin was right on time (unlike my fridge delivery) within the earlier time window they given.  Other places give you such a big window you end up stuck in the house.  He was courteous to wipe his shoes and kept a clean workspace.  The work took all but 20min at most, and he made sure all the water was back in and working before leaving.  

The Yelp discount is excellent though the price is already most reasonable.  Their office was great about payment and sent the invoice via email.

While I hope not to call a plumber again anytime soon, I know I will look to them in the future.  Service and convenience is wonderful!

I had a leaking shower and called five star. I initially spoke with Debbie who was super helpful and got all the key information for Jason to come to my house later that day. I really appreciated Jason's honest work attitude as prior to just trying to replace my entire cartridge he first tried to clean the existing one. That didn't work so he ran to Home Depot to get the required parts. He came back and promptly finished up the job. The install was done about a month and a half ago and it is working great!!!! Jason and Debbie at five star plumbing are my go to team!

I have used Five Star Plumbing for years, mostly for unclogging pipes and installing toilets. This time I called Debbie to install a water pressure regulator and a couple of new water valves and she said her son Justin could do the job. Justin came out and gave us an estimate and did a great job and came in a lot less than another plumbing company. I would highly recommend them!!

Friendly and efficient, my new favorite plumbers! I called because Lowe's wouldn't install our new washer because the taps behind it were leaky. Justin arrived the next day after my call and quickly replaced both taps with shiny new ones. He also looked at a leak under my kitchen sink and replaced a washer to fix it.

Justin is great...i have been looking for a good reliable plumber for a long time, he is great.  He is fast, efficient, and priced appropriately.  He fixed a leaky valve when I replaced my washer and dryer.  He was in and out within an hour, and replaced the valve on my gas line while the water was draining.  All in all awesome work

Hired Five Star Plumbing on a recommendation from our tile guy. My initial contact with this company was very positive. The person I spoke with (Debbie) was friendly and I was able to get an estimate for the work over the phone. (The total bill, which was quite reasonable, was substantially less than the verbal quote.) Justin arrived on time to install a new hot/cold water valve for the tub and modify the copper pipe fitting to accommodate a screw-on tub spout.  He was pleasant and didn't seem the least bit put-out by the many questions I asked him while he was working (I like to learn by watching). The work was quality-Justin went the extra mile by securing the existing pipes to eliminate water hammer.

We will definitely contact this company the next time we need a plumber.

When it comes to the home maintenance industry, it can easily feel like everyone is out to get you. But Five Star Plumbing is a refreshing breath of honesty and hard work in a sea of scammers.

Our shower was leaking and we asked Bill Howe for a quote. They sent a tech who took one look at it unscrewed and told us it'd be $1700. On top of that, his dirty shoes stained our bath mats, but maybe that's just me being resentful. We knew that $1700 was absurd to fix the leak, so we took to Yelp for a better option.

Clearly, Justin has a ton of great reviews and they are well deserved. When we messaged for a quote, we got honest answers! If we did need to replace the valve, it could cost around $650-850 but if it was just the cartridge, which was most likely the culprit, it'd be closer to $200.

Justin arrived and it wasn't easy to get in there. But unlike the lazy tech who took one look at our shower and immediately said, replace the whole thing, Justin used some elbow grease (and a blow torch) to get in and replace the cartridge. Leaky shower be gone.

We are so glad to now know a reliable and trustworthy plumber to help us with the joys of homeownership.

You could not interact with a nicer company! Debbie who answers the calls is so kind and talked me through lots of troubleshooting prior to sending Justin out to investigate our mystery kitchen drain smell. Justin checked through numerous possibilities and even told me how to replace our disposal ourselves prior trying to more drastic measures. More than a half hour of his time and he told me I owed nothing! Will definitely call Five Star with any future plumbing needs.

Justin at Five Star Plumbing was terrific. I inquired about a small job, concerned that it was so small it might not be worth a plumber's time.  Justin replied  to my inquiry quickly and was able to give me a quote based on my my brief description of the job and a couple of photos. He booked the time, was punctual and most importantly, showed up at the scheduled time and did a great job, at the agreed upon price. Great guy, great experience. I had a new valve to install for some replacement shower trim and called a variety of companies before I talked to Justin's mom Debbie.
This is   terrific down to earth old style family business that is a pleasure to work with. Debbie estimated the price over the phone Justin came out,  viewed the work necessary and took care of business with a very fair price. No fuss no muss. (Debbie the work was done a few weeks ago...I sent Justin back with some garden goodies for you  and just got time to do a review...)a

Justin was knowledgeable, honest on our kitchen sink leak repair.  Our previous Insinkerator food disposal machine was poorly installed by a prior owner and was leaking over time.  It was so bad that the metal flanges were corroded!

Justin arrived and assessed the problem thoroughly and suggested on replacing the whole disposal due to the bad corrosion that could not be avoided.  He tried at first to remove only the corroded parts but it only made matters worse if he did.

Within an hour, Justin went to our local Home Depot - purchased a new food disposal of reasonable price and installed it perfectly.

Two weeks later, sink and food disposal is working fine with no leaks.

Justin was awesome.  I needed some new water valves put in with a new faucet in my new old home we purchased.  There was also a leak I had in our garage.  He was able to give me an estimate and had time to do the work right then and there.  He knows what he's doing.  I love that it's a family business and that I didn't feel like he was trying to rip me off.  What he did was worth the price to me.  I'm happy to have found our plumber and I'm sure we'll be using him as well.  His mom was super fantastic at communication as well.  Need a plumber?  This is where it's at. :)

Discovered a leaking pipe in a tiny, very hard to access corner of our attic. Called Five Star, and though Justin wasn't available, Debbie sent John, his uncle, who crawled up in our very tiny attic, found the leak and had it fixed in an  hour! The water had pooled destroying insulation and some ceiling drywall, which he's going to come back to fix for a very reasonable estimate. Here quickly, worked quickly, and at a very reasonable price! They are my go-to plumbers, now!

Great service and fair prices. I had 5 Star install some toilets, faucets, and drains. They performed the work in a timely manner and the price was LESS than the original quote.

Additionally, I recently completed an entire home remodel and noticed that there were water marks showing up on my newly installed drywall. I called 5 Star and they came by my home within 30 minutes and were able to quickly diagnose the problem. The issue stemmed from faulty water pipes installed by a contractor hired to remodel our master bath. I did not use 5 Star to fix the pipes as I had the original contractor come back to repair their own mistakes, but more importantly 5 Star was there when I needed them and helped diagnose the issue at no cost. Justin and Debbie are a pleasure to work with and I will continue to use 5 Star in the future.

After my horrible experience from 'GREeDY dependable plumbing' I called Justin FIVE STAR PLUMBING and ask for a quote for a shower cartridge replacement, he gave me a quote of $150 without the part and $100 if I buy the part! As the name of the company states, 5 star is what Justin deserves. From start to finish, 5 stars across the board.  Great responsiveness on yelp, very upfront with pricing. Punctual and friendly. Took care of multiple shut-off valves and leaky faucets for me and didn't try to upsell or recommend unnecessary work. I received quotes and free estimates from a couple of other plumbers and the work suggested was more than 6-7x higher than what I ended up paying with Five Star (sure they would do more work but was complete change-out of 2 entire faucets necessary?).

Can't recommend highly enough. Was considerate about healthful precautions, worked fast and took the debris / leftover trash from the work with him. Very professional; done 2 jobs for me. In fact, Debbie even helped with contacting the manufacturer of two slow flowing faucets and got them to send replacements - even though they were purchased / installed by a different company. Best plumber in San Diego - wish had someone like that when lived in NorCal.

I got a new toilet and usually would install it myself but being 66 now makes me think twice about these things so I called Five Star to install it. They came over the same day and Justin did an excellent job. Of course there was a problem (existing Plastic toilet flange was cracked) Justin went out and got a stainless steel flange for me that would Never give me another problem. The new toilet looks and works great. WILL definitely use them again.

So my kitchen sink sprung a leak and I thought it can wait until tomorrow.  But then my friends called about 3 pm and said let's go to AZ in the morning.  I'm going What?  I can't leave until this is taken care of or I'll come back to a flooded kitchen!  I called Debbie and explained the situation and she said she would do her best to get Justin out that day if possible.  Dude showed up after 5 pm to fix my leak.  Great guy.  He took care of it at such a reasonable price I gave him a $20 tip just because of the wonderful and prompt service.  They are my go to people now!  You won't regret calling them.

Scheduled Five Star Plumbing to assist with a minor kitchen sink issue I was having. I had initially called one of the large, local plumbing outfits to diagnose the issue. They quoted me over $600 which would have involved unnecessarily replacing several parts/valves/hoses and the labor to install it. Justin came by and had the issue resolved in 20 minutes with no replacement parts, and at a fraction of the cost. Thank you Justin and Five Star Plumbing! This positive review has two parts. I originally quoted out to about 15 plumbing companies some work I needed done in my home. Five Star Plumbing offered great rates, had terrific reviews and was very prompt and timely with their responses. While I did not end up needing work at that time, I saved their information remembering how accommodating they were with my situation and how positive my experience was.

My parents recently had a major plumbing/sewage issue so I remembered the above and immediately called Deb. I could not articulate the problem very well, so they promptly came by to offer a quote. They ending up booking the job and scheduled work shortly after. The work was incredibly labor intensive, they worked hard all day long. I believe they ended up needing to get a special part, but despite everything they still honored their quote 100%. We are really pleased with the experience and know that if we need anything further, there is no hesitation to call Five Star. Thank you again!!!

Five star is the appropriate name for this business as they are truly Five Star. Debbie who answered the phone was fantastic. Such a great attitude. Not only did she book my appt., but she also gave me some tips on how to fix my garbage disposal. When Justin arrived he was great. Very professional and appears to have the know how to fix anything. Got a quote quickly from Justin about a leaking bathtub faucet. We set up an appointment and he was on time and ready to go. He examined what needed to be done and picked up the necessary parts for the job. The work was done in a timely manner and he cleaned up what little mess he made. I've had really good luck finding plumbers on Yelp, but we keep moving from one side of San Diego to the other, so I've had to switch from time to time.

Now that we're settled into a place near UCSD, wanted to find a trustworthy, highly rated plumber who could move our ice maker water supply and stove gas supply valves into boxes on our kitchen wall.

Checked Yelp and decided on Five-Star. Excellent decision.

Why pay more or as much as to install your toilet as you paid for your actual toilet? A friend recommended Five Star Plumbing to me.  When I saw only a few Yelp reviews I wasn't sure whether or not to use them and I checked around some more.  Other prices were so outrageous I decided to take a chance with Five Star Plumbing and I'm glad I did.  I was able to get an appointment quickly to accommodate my busy schedule.  Justin was quick efficient and knowledgeable.  It's a family owned business that does quality work. Why? How? I don't understand. The most basic plumbing job...ruined. Charged me over $500 for some angle valve replacements, Five Star Plumbing didn't replace the old valve nut/ring...plumbing 101. Now I have $800 in water damage. The entire reason I wanted the valves replaced was to be proactive and prevent water damage. Welp. So much for that plan. I urge anyone that uses Five Star to very closely inspect their work for skimping.

I noticed a leak in my interior walls (between the bath and the living room). Called my favorite plumber (5 Star Plumbing) to look at the issue. After he opened the drywall he narrowed the problem down to the drain vent. He checked the attic then the roof and found the problem: the vent on the roof had dried out the caulking around the vent and opened a crack for the water to enter the house. Justin said it would be an easy fix for me to handle but he couldn't fix it (due to insurance rules), I looked on yelp for someone to fix it and called Adail Bastos Roofing, who fixed the problem in very little time. We recently had our water heater break and needed a new one. Justin came out that day to take a look and his mom kindly cleared out his schedule for the next morning. He came in early and fixed it up with no problems.

We really appreciate his willingness to come out and take care of it so quickly and efficiently. One thing he did at the end was he went to Home Depot with us to return our old one since it still was covered under warranty.  He took charge and explained it to the Home Depot employee and we were able to get a big chunk of our money back. After talking to Donna I knew this was the place to use. I called this place again because this place had lots of experience and perfect yelps. This is a family business I knew I could trust. I called five star plumbing requests a quote for replacing water line from city water meters to my house. The lady answers my call (Debbie) . I explains to her that I need to replace my water line to prevent future leaks or breaks over the time but to my surprise she said you don't need to replace your waters line because in my 30 year experience I did not see any thing like that happened only leak or break at water meter but I will send my son come to your house to see and talk to you. Justin just plumbed the water line to my freezer so my ice maker could be used.  Setting up the appointment was super easy and he showed up on time and got it done in less than 30 minutes for a fair price.  It turned out my ice maker was broken after years of non-use but I reached out to Justin in the meantime to make sure there was no chance anything was missed in the plumbing.  He offered to come by and check everything with his work as well as the freezer.  It turned out, as expected, the issue was with the ice maker itself but I really appreciated his concern and offer to come by to look at it.  Hire without hesitation!

I found Five Star Plumbing on a Yelp search and so happy I went with them. I requested a quote/appt and within 20 mins Debbie (Justin's mom) replied to me with an appointment date that worked with my work schedule. She gave me her cell phone so I could text her photos of the kitchen faucet we needed to replace. Justin showed up on time for the appointment. He was very polite, nice and fixed everything including two toilets (one needed to be reset/resealed, the other the filler valve needed to be replaced), installed a new shower head in my shower, and installed the kitchen faucet. I had a slab leak that I wanted to bypass with a new hot water line overhead. Talked to my insurance and several other plumbers who wanted to steer me into opening up the slab in my living room and fixing 1970's pipe.

Justin was able to come by on short notice, close the leaking line, and got what I was trying to accomplish... no expensive upsell. He was able to schedule a full repair a day or two later and did a great job. He's responsive, on time and upfront with very reasonable pricing.

I ordered a refrigerator and it couldn't be installed because of a leaky valve used for the ice maker. I need a plumber quick and made a phone call to Five Star Plumbing and a friendly voice greeted me an sympathized with my dilemma. Justin is the most accomplished plumber because he grew up helping and learning from  his dad. I have a gas line (black iron pipe) in the attic and it was in the way of where the bathe vent had to be placed.  I had received 6 estimates (all from the big local pluming  companies) prior to this one. One included a cheesy flex pipe . And they all ranged in price from $500 (the cheesy flex pipe)  to close to $2000. I called Justin who came out and gave me a free estimate $300.00!!  ...to do it the RIGHT way. He had me call Debbie to schedule. It took a while to book them, but when he finally came out BAM! We have used Five Star Plumbing for 25+ years. Recently my husband couldn't get the stopper in the bathroom sink to work. Being legally blind he couldn't see how it attached under the sink and was trying fix it be feel. Not to mention crawling under the sink hurt his back, shoulder and hand. We called Justin and he stopped by at the end of his day. He had it fixed in seconds. We also asked him why our garbage disposal had a strange odor. He found the source in a hose from the dishwasher and cleared that out for us too. He refused to let me pay him. Justin is not only an excellent plumber he is kind and compassionate. I reached out to Five Star Plumbing to help with a clogged kitchen drain. They responded immediately and referred me to Anthony Carlson, their best drain guy-- Anthony was great! He gave me a very reasonable price quote over the phone (clarifying that he would only charge if he was able to unclog it) and was able to come within a few hours. He arrived promptly and was very considerate in keeping the work space clean, he was honest in communication about pricing and explained what he was doing every step of the way. The job ended up being easier than he anticipated and he adjusted the pricing accordingly. I was ready to pay the full quoted price but he refused to accept it. He said the job didn't warrant that amount -- he really made my day! I can't recommend him more!

Justin is simply the best. He's as skilled, honest and reliable as we all hope service providers should be and rarely are.

We've used him for several projects for our home in San Diego, including installing a new gas water heater, installing new toilets, and replacing a garbage disposal. Each time has been a pleasure.

If the 5 Star Plumbing decide to change their name to 6 Star Plumbing I would be the first one to support it.
Over the weekend, I got a small but unusually infrequent leak under my built-in refrigerator. On Sunday afternoon, I tried to call several plumbers in the area, but most of the shops were closed and no answer, or others were already booked for the week. The 5 Star Plumbing, even officially closed on weekends, responded to my call promptly. After discussing the issue, I agreed that the issue was not absolutely time critical and I could wait until Monday for someone to come to fix it. On Monday, Justin arrived on time, pulled out a heavy beast of the refrigerator out of the cabinets, checked all the connections and replaced the supply tubing, which was most likely causing the leak. Absolutely professional and clean work!
Justin was dressed professionally and he was wearing the mask all the time. His attitude was professional and friendly. He also advised me what to monitor for a potential future leak that could be part of the fridge rather than the water supply tubing fault. The pricing for 2-hour work was very reasonable.
I highly recommend the 5 Star Plumbing.

Five Star Plumbing really saved the day for me yesterday. Another plumber stripped the turning device on my house shutoff and wanted a great deal of money to repair it (knowing we had no water due to that situation). Five Star Plumbing was able to send someone out that same morning, give me a much better price, and did the work efficiently. This morning we found out that we had a broken water pipe out in the garage. I did not know who to call and ended up calling five Star plumbing. They were absolutely excellent! They came within two hours of the phone call, evaluated  the situation, and quickly rectified the problem. Justin was absolutely terrific and I have no hesitation in both recommending them and saying that I will definitely call them in the future when I need the services of a plumber. Five Star has been my plumber since 1990. No matter what, they do a great job. Debbie is always nice and Greg does a GREAT job.  His rates are more than fair. He installed faucets, toilets, shower fixtures, my garbage disposal, 2 dish washers, and a couple months ago he and his son installed a new water heater for me.I am so thankful I found a plumber I could trust. I have never had anything he installed break on me. I shop and research any products I buy through Consumers Reports. Five Star is my plumbing Best Buy.

Wow, what an exceptional company.  I had some issues with a water heater.  Sent Five Star Plumbing a request for a quote.  Justin went over and above and wrote me some detailed instructions on how to deal with the manufacturer.  When the parts arrived, he came over and installed them for a reasonable price.  Let me tell you, other requests for quotes ranged from 3x to 7x the cost and none took the time to really figure out what the problem may be before quoting a price.  Justin is awesome, and above all, he's honest.  That's a rare trait in companies nowadays that just want to take your money as fast as you're able to give it to them. I will definitely be hiring Five Star Plumbing for future needs.

Family run business. Debbie (Justin's mom) answers yelp questions rapidly and accurately, very kind and considerate. Amount quoted was what I paid.
Justin was honest and on time, very knowledgeable and performed quick reliable repair (replaced faucet and angle stops).
I had a minor drip after angle stops were replaced (1 drop over the course of the day) which I thought was just due to water that may have been in the supply lines when they were reconnected. I called Debbie to make her aware of the issue, and told her it was so minor, I wanted to monitor for a few days. Debbie said leaks do not get better and she'll send Justin back out to see what needs to be done. Again, he showed up on time, simply tighten the connection a little and so far, no leaks.
Would highly recommend this plumber (and Debbie) and I wish I could find more reliable home repair people like Five-star plumbing (be aware Five-star plumbing differs from 5-star plumbing also located in San Diego).

Put in a Yelp request around 8 pm and had an appt for the following day at 9 am!    Awesome service and honest quote. Even though the work entailed more than quoted 5 Star stayed to the original low estimate which was far better than all the other offers received. Turnabout is fair play so I offered more than the quote and met in the middle above the quote and the actual price the service should have cost. An honest days work deserves and honest days pay. Will use again and recommend to anyone in need of their services!

I had a pressure crack in my sewer drain line underneath my kitchen sink. Justin came after another plumber tried to fix it  but still left a leak claiming the only solution was to dig up foundation and replace more pipes. Justin was able to determine why it was still leaking, and fixed it without needing more work done. He is as knowledgeable and honest as they come, in both his quality work and transparent pricing. Excellent communication, fair and honest pricing and incredible attention to detail!!  I'm a DIYer but did not have the time to replace a Moen shower catridge at my apartment.   Requested a few quotes on yelp and promptly received an estimate from Justin which was extremely fair and reasonable.   Surprisingly other companies on Yelp recommended and quoted me for the replacement of the entire valve unit at a cost of 3 - 4x the price of a catridge replacement.

We exchanged several messages on the details of the building water shutoff and scheduled an appointment.  Justin was on time and quickly replaced the catridge despite me providing the wrong cartridge.   He went out and got the correct catridge and promptly replaced it.  Justin noticed that the existing brass handle was too heavy resulting in the handle moving and not staying in the desired position so he replaced the handle with a lighter one.  Great attention to detail!!

Debbie who manages the appointments and invoicing was also fantastic and a pleasure to work with.  

I recommend Five Star Plumbing and will be using them again in the near future.

I can count on one hand the number of reviews I've written. They've all been either comically bad or extraordinarily good experiences. Here's another one, and thankfully, on the extraordinarily good side. I recently bough a new house and my jaw dropped when I got my first water bill. Quickly realized I had a leak. Called 5 Star and Debbie was super friendly and helpful. She volunteered advice on what to do or things to ask if I were to go with another company. She suggested contacting CPL to do the leak detection since 5 star doesn't do that. Once they found the slab leak, I called Debbie to come in a do the necessary fix. Justin showed up on time and got right to work. A few hours later the problem was solved. I usually don't like surprises on my bills, but this time was different. At the end, Justin said that it was less work than they had initially quoted me for, so he charged me less than what I was initially quoted. A lot of companies would have gone with the mindset of well, this guy already agreed to pay a higher price, so let's charge him that. What else besides hard work, friendliness, and honesty can you hope for in someone you do business with? Would recommend them to any neighbor or friend. While I hope to not need plumbing service for a while, would definitely give 5 Star a call if the need arises.

I need to replace a water regulator. Justin came on time. He took down the old water regulator, but fond the new one I bought is not fit. He went to ACE to buy a new rubber ring (the old one missing), and reinstall back the old old one. He tested that it is working fine. Then even I offered to pay him the original agreed price, he only took the half.
I think he is a honest and trust-able person. I like him.

Easter Sunday morning, my wife yells out to me, water is COLD! We are prepping/cleaning for Easter Brunch at our home later in the day. I go to the Google/YouTube to check how to's and 45 minutes later no luck. I check my contacts for plumbers and find Five Star plumbing. I call and speak with Justin. Monday (next day) afternoon he arrives to our home. About an HOUR later, we have a new water heater working and heating water. You might find a good plumber, not a better person. He came to our house after a long day of appointments (5:15PM). Remember to appreciate honest, capable and kind people like this. Justin installed two new toilets for me and did a great job.  There were a couple of hiccups along the way and I was really impressed with the way that he explained things to me and then figured out the best solution.  I was on the fence about trying to install them myself and now I am extremely glad that I went with a professional, given the unforeseen issues.

Simply the best customer service! I called on a Monday morning and spoke to a very lovely lady named Debbie. I explained that we have been having  recurring issues with our downstairs toilet.

Just 2 weeks prior, we had another plumbing service that is here on Yelp and has significant 5 star reviews visit our house to fix the same toilet. The customer service was less than stellar, a hefty price tag and less than 2 weeks later, we are back to the same issue.

I explained the background to Debbie and she was very empathetic. She had her son, Justin, reach out to me within minutes. He made sure to make time in his schedule to fit us in at the end of the day. In addition, he was helping us with additional issues (contractor lost the bolts for the toilet seat and we've been waiting 2 months for the replacement) and Justin even called our toilet manufacturer and waited on the phone with them for 15 minutes to find out the best way to procure the specialized bolts. Talk about customer service!

Justin let us know when he was on his way and fixed our issue in no time. He also let us know if we have any more issues with the toilet to let him know and he'd come out to check it out. He was friendly, efficient and has made a lifetime customer out of us! We have found our go to plumbing service!

Once again Justin and Debbie have done a stellar job at providing San Diego reliable and friendly plumbing services.

I sprung a slow leak from one of my abandoned spigots in the kitchen where my washing machine used to reside.  Debbie scheduled me ASAP, moved me up when someone else canceled, and Justin called today to see if he could come an hour early.  Love that!

He capped off  the old spigots by welding them (not using those unreliable sharkbite pressure fittings).  He kept everything behind the drywall so it looks clean in my kitchen and he removed all of the old/ugly exposed gas pipe to where the dryer used to be.  Justin also removed the exposed ABS drain line.  

He is smart, friendly, efficient, loves his work and was really nice to our dachshund (Bentley).

Huge thanks to Justin for coming out last minute to fix my issue. If I could rate higher, I would.

Needed to replace an old shower cartridge that ended up breaking off into the housing when I attempted to do it myself. It was really stubborn and I tried all day with no luck. The first company I called came out and told me there was no way to get the cartridge out and that they'd need to cut into my wall and replace the entire housing. They quoted me $2,000. I called around and eventually got ahold of Justin at the last minute and he was generous enough to stop by after his last job. He was able to get the cartridge out and replace it with a new one. And it did not cost anywhere close to $2,000.

Without a doubt I will be calling him next time I need a plumber.

At about 4:30pm I got home from taking the kids for a walk and my wife told me she thought the main line was clogged because the toilets had backed up and there was poop in the tub.

By 7:30pm (and this is on a friday) I was all set thanks to Five Star. They responded to my quote request within minutes and sent Anthony Carlson straight over. Before he came Anthony gave me a quote. And after he snaked the main line and got rid of the clog, he ran a camera up to check everything out. And when he was done what he asked for was what he quoted.

Justin was on time and did a fantastic job.  I originally was only going to have him replace the washers in three faucets, but he actually ended up relaceing all three faucets and also replaced a corroded joint under neath one of the sinks that had started to leak.  It only took him about two hours which included a trip to Home Depot.  The total cost was also very reasonable.  This is the third time I have used Justin for plumbing needs, and each time the work has been very professionalfessional, and the cost has been reasonable.

Sent out some requests for a quote for what seemed like a simple fix job (toilet anchor bolts / wax ring issue). Justin gave the quickest reply, and also the only one to actually look at my included picture, and then diagnose, solution, and quote my request.

Ordered shower door from home depot.  They recommended5 star plumbing for installation. When 5 star arrived they did not know how to instal it. Drilled the holes bigger than what the hardwear that came with.  Than they shattered the door.  I had to order a new one.  Once arrived they showes up made more wholes in the brand new renovated bathroom wich i have marble all over top to bottom.  So they made more holes in the marble and said oh we cannt do it the owner said it is a liability.  And left.  So i have holes in the marble and no shower door.  Tryed to call the owner to see if they are going to fix the holes they maid.  Left a message no answer.  Called few more times no answer. I would not call them and use them ever.  On there truck it said work guarantee.

Had a chance to use them again to install a Moen Flo smart shutoff as well as replace a hose bibb and install a new gas shutoff. All the work was done really well. Beautiful solder joints. Once again, Justin and Debbie blew us away. Price was great as always and Justin even helped us diagnose a leak on the city side of our water meter that the city is now going to fix. Awesome!

After having three different leak detection companies try to find the leak in my cold water pipes under my slab, then having a half dozen or more plumbing companies come out to give me a quote to repair the leak. They all wanted to do a repipe for $8,000-$12,000 which didn't include all the drywall repair and paint job. Justin was the only one that was able to figure out how to do a reroute of my cold water pipe for under a quarter of what all the other plumbing companies wanted. Justin started the very next day after he came out to give me a quote, he work hard and long hours to complete the job in two days. Justin at Five Star Plumbing was professional, honest, definitely the best plumbing company in San Diego County. On top of that, Debbie in the office is extremely helpful, kind, respectful, and always return my calls. I recommend that you only call Five Star Plumbing.

We absolutely love Five Star Plumbing! We had a leak coming from the ceiling in our living room that started right before Thanksgiving. We called Five Star and set up an appointment for the Monday after the holiday. Woke up on the 25th to find that the leak had gotta progressively worse. Five Star was out that evening and Justin had it fixed in about ten minutes! I swear that it took him longer to talk to my in-laws than it did to fix the pipe.

I loved everything about this experience. The lady who answers the phone is super nice and caring. Justin (I think that's his name, tattoos?) came right on time, not a second late! He wore his mask in the house, and also took off his shoes when asked :) After having this experience with Five Star Plumbing, we are a customer for life!

I highly recommend 5 star plumbing! They have done several jobs for me and exceed all expectations Debbie, Greg and Justin get the job done and are extremely professional and affordable! You will not be disappointed!
