1st Call Plumbing is THE BEST! We had a clogged sewer main that needed immediate attention. I called Mike at around 9am. He was finishing up another job but managed to make to our house before 10am. In a nutshell, he pinpointed the blockage (roots) and had the line cleared out in a jiffy all for a very reasonable price. Your sewer system starts to back up on a Friday. You like to have working toilets, showers, etc., so you start calling to find someone to fix it. How does 5 days sound? 3 days? How about less than 2 hours? Thank you, First Call, for quickly coming out and taking care of the problem for a very reasonable price. This was the second time I had called First Call and the second time they came out and helped us on the same day.

If I could give Mike 10 stars I would. I had a very difficult problem. 200' of 2 underground electrical conduit that was full of dried decomposed granite. To top it off the conduit is under a septic field so i could not just rent a Ditch Witch and run some new 2 conduit....

Mike fit me into a jammed schedule and within a few days of first contact came to my Penryn (30 minutes from Sacramento) location and gave me 110%. He water jetted two conduits in a timely fashion offered a guarantee for a reasonable fee.

This is the 2nd time I have used First Call and they came thru like ACES both times!! Thank you Mike!!!!

These guys are awesome. I called another plumber first, and they came over but couldn't figure out what the problem was, so suggested I call a rooter service. Decided to call Mike since he had such great reviews...and now I know why! He and Carlos came over, cleared the problem, scoped the pipes and found the roots that are causing the issue. I'll be using him to take care of that problem, too, but wanted to be sure to write a review before I forget. He came over with very little notice (on a Saturday!), brought his adorable son with him, and took care of everything quickly. Really friendly, professional and trustworthy - I won't use another plumber / sewer service after this, so he'd better not ever retire. :))

I called Mike on a Saturday morning after my toilet backed up into the tub late Friday night. (Charming!) He arrived about 30 minutes later as promised, and was finished clearing my main sewer line in less than an hour. The same hour! He and his assistant were friendly and they let me watch the video as the camera travelled through the pipe. It was pretty neat. I would not hesitate to call Mike again for any plumbing problem, and I'll be recommending him to my rental agency as well.

Yesterday was Thanksgiving and wouldn't you know it, our sewer gets backed up. We were still under a 3 year warranty for sewer backup and Mike came out and fixed the problem in under an hour from when I called! I don't even know where to begin with these guys. I called Mike this morning at about 7:30 because my toilets (all 3) would not flush. Well, to my (Un-welcomed) surprise, sewage began backing up into all three of our showers. I needed a professional and quick. Mike said he could be out today sometime after noon. He ended up calling me back and said he could head my way at 10:30. Score. When Mike and Carlos showed up they were very nice and professional. They immediately got to work to clear our main sewage line. Well, unfortunately, we had bigger issue. We had a pipe on one side of our house that was sagging and cracked and another piece of pipe - also on our main line - that was cracked and being held up by a piece of wood instead of the proper brackets. Carlos was under my house for over an hour installing new pipe, installing new brackets, inspecting, etc. They cleared out my main line and put a camera down it to make sure it was clear. Mike tested all toilets and showers before they left to make sure that there was no issue. They took their time and were absolutely wonderful to deal with. Even my dad, who is always skeptical of any contractors, really liked Mike and Carlos and trusted them with my house. I cannot say enough wonderful things about these two. If you have any sewer needs then call this team first. They're truly the best. Thanks again, Mike and Carlos!

Not knowing our house well yet, having only moved in a short while ago, we were worried when we saw saturated soil in the crawl space. Mike came out the same day we called and with a little detective work, was able to determine there was no leak, but that our drip line had caused soil saturation that was flowing back toward the house (time to remove the plants all these older houses have along the foundation edge). He and his assistant were professional and courteous - and he didn't even charge me for his time (though I would have gladly paid for the peace of mind). Would definitely recommend.

If I could give 10 stars I would. Their crew was always on the job 10 minutes before start and were incredibly professional, informative of the status of the job and thorough from start to finish. They changed out my old galvanized water pipes, old cast iron drain pipes and water heater. Their customer service was quite honestly the best I've ever experienced. After the job was completed there was a noise a few days later and they quickly made arrangements to come out, troubleshoot and fix. Amazing work and highly recommended!

Our main sewer line backed up on the Saturday before Christmas, and our attempts to snake it to clear the blockage were unsuccessful. After reading these Yelp reviews, we called Mike and he came out that same day within a couple hours of when we called. Sunday Father's Day our bathtub started filling up. I went to Yelp and I looked for the top people. Call First came up and the reviews were wonderful, but I was afraid to call somebody out on a Sunday on Father's Day, because most people in this field are men and I was afraid of the cost for an emergency trip. So we waited till Monday. Monday morning we called and Mike the owner answered the phone, said he was swamped on Monday he would try his best to get out in the afternoon but he wasn't sure, he suggested we might want to find somebody else, if not he would try for Monday, if not Tuesday for sure. 20 minutes later he called and said he would be on his way he came out of the house he and Carlos were very professional, caring, concerning. We have a small guest cottage behind our house where the sink had become very slow to drain and then stopped altogether. Another highly rated plumber correctly diagnosed the situation: The huge redwood tree behind our house had completely packed the drain with roots. But he lacked the equipment and expertise to fix it and would have to subcontract out parts of the job.

Based on Yelp reviews we called First Call Plumbing for a second opinion. Mike picked up the phone right away and was at our house quickly. He and Carlos, who have worked as a team for 13 years, had everything they needed in their work truck. They used a camera to probe the pipes under our house to determine the extent of the damage and showed me on video the masses of roots clogging the pipes beneath the guest cottage.

Just as the other plumber had, they told me it would require using a jackhammer to drill two large holes through the concrete slab to access the pipes and replace them. They quoted me a fair price that included the two hours of work they had already done and a lifetime warranty. They said they could get started right away.

It was a difficult job, but Mike and Carlos tackled it remarkably well as a team. It took them one long afternoon and the next morning to complete, but I can easily imagine it might have taken someone else several days and been much more disruptive. They removed the 50-year-old pipes and showed us that the redwood tree had completely packed a cast-iron drain pipe and split it open! They replaced the pipes, filled the holes, and put down new concrete. Once we replaced the linoleum, they came back to install a new sink and faucet without charging extra.

There are other plumbers out there who can do a great job installing a faucet or unclogging a toilet. These guys described themselves as diggers. If you have a tough job involving underground pipes, I would especially recommend them. Thank you Mike and Carlos!

I had a wonderful experience with Mike and First Call Plumbing today. I have tenants in a home in Sacramento (I am out of State) that had a sewer back up. I saw the positive reviews on Yelp and made this my first call. Mike returned my message within 15 minutes and was out at the house in an hour. An hour after that, the problem was resolved - he also kept in constant contact with me on what the issues were and what was required to fix it. And, it minimized impact on my tenants.

I feel incredibly lucky to have found Mike. As a new homeowner, I originally called Bonney plumbing (the worst idea I've ever had) to come out. They charged me $50 after being here for less than 5 minutes just to come out and tell me they weren't exactly sure what was wrong, then they gave me a quote for $2,000 without even really knowing what the issue was.
Luckily I was referred to Mike shortly after, I called him at 8pm on Tuesday night and him and Carlos were at my front door the very next morning. They first spent at least 30 minutes digging and moving rocks in my backyard to locate an access point, then fixed the issue within 2 hours for $1,300 LESS than what Bonney quoted me and they did way more work than what Bonney was going to do.
Because my house is so old with really old plumbing, I ended up with an additional clog because of the original issue, I texted Mike and him and Carlos were back out at my house within the day to fix it at NO extra cost. Mike walked me through everything and explained all of my options. He even replaced the flapper on my toilet, which was completely unrelated and he just happened to have an extra one in his truck.
Can't recommend these guys enough.

Mike and Carlos are professional and efficient. As soon as they arrived the scoping of the clog with a camera system was fantastic. They allow you as the customer to observe the whole line and discuss whatever they need to do to effectively clean your while sewer system. Mike was absolutely awesome!!!! He fit me into his schedule on the same day for a kitchen sink issue. He was able to diagnosis the issue and 30 minutes later there was no clog at all. Mike is simply amazing. We have had consistent sewage drainage issues since we bought our new place, and were considering a $5000+ line replacement from one of the bigger local companies, but decided to get a second opinion from Mike first (based on all the good reviews on Yelp). We're very glad we did - he saved us $4000, did the job in half the time, and was very friendly and easy to work with. He obviously has years of experience and offered us a variety of options to fix our problems. Since then, we had one more issue (which was our fault) and Mike came back and fixed it at no charge (and he arrived 20 minutes after I called him!) I can't recommend skilled pros Mike and Carlos highly enough. My plumbing/sewage issues turned out to be significantly more extensive than those initially quoted for my 94-year-old house. They identified, removed and replaced hard to access split and corroded pipes in 1/2 the time I thought it would take, and threw in a 2-year warranty in their already reasonable quote - despite 1 anticipated issue ultimately turning into 4! Lots of digging was involved, and all soil was neatly replaced around the capped-off easy access pipes they installed. When finished, they insisted on hosing down any trace of soil tracked between their truck and the side and back of my house. Great service with a great attitude for a great price!

My first call will now be to First Call Plumbing. Mike was great. After going down the yelp list calling for an after hours plumber, I found Mike. This was at 6pm on a Wednesday. I explained to him that my toilet was clogged and water had backed up into the tub and shower in a separate bathroom. I have two young kids and going without a flushing toilet until the morning was not an option. He said he would be out as soon as he could. In the process of re-landscaping our front yard, we found a sewer cleanout right where the new front walkway was to be. Mike quickly returned my early am call, and was out with Carlos the same afternoon. They dug up, removed, and replaced the old cleanout with fresh pipe, and placed a new cleanout at a desired spot in the yard. They were very efficient and fun to talk to. They preserved my concrete pour schedule, and I am grateful. They fully deserve a 5 star review. Please note: Mike only accepts plumbing work related to sewer problems. So, I had a plumbing emergency and there was a mess created on the side of my house due to the clogged pipes that I had. I tried to clean myself but was too disgusting to do so. Mike and his crew installed a trench less sewer line back in Feb 2016 in our East Sac home. Another happy customer - I feel like I won the lottery! I've had some bad plumbing experiences, you just never know if the plumber who comes out is going to know what he is doing, will be honest, and will he just happen to find a bunch of other stuff that needs to be done. Mike Brunson is honest, dependable, and his work quality is excellent. He showed me on a camera exactly what our problem was and it was a clear picture of a break in on our sewer pipe. First Call Plumbing & Sewer Service (FCP&SS) was referred to us by a real estate friend, and Mike and Carlos came by promptly as scheduled. They used a camera to assess a sewer overflow issue and were able to determine what needed to be fixed. They gave us two options and we went with the second one that was to replace the entire section of damaged pipe. All questions I had were expertly answered and he was very well at communicating all the details to my husband (whom was working) to keep him informed.

What was so awesome was that Mike included the first days video and analysis into the total cost of services then knocked off an additional $300, the following day after the pipe was laid. Also, after the initial inspection, he gave us the ability to place a deposit and to pay the rest within 30 days-- a burden lifted because the owner of our house (my husband's grandmother) lives out of state and would be mailing us a check to help cover the costs.

Mike and Carlos showed up promptly the day after the inspection and fixed everything within 3.5 hours. They worked quickly and Mike thoroughly explained what they did and showed me the newly installed pipe. He once again kept in contact with my husband, who was working, and updated him on his progress.

First Call Plumbing & Sewer Service were quite impressive to work with, had excellent communication and professionalism, and finished the work quickly, at a fair price. Mike also gave us a lifetime warranty! I can see how the company is rated so highly on Yelp. I browsed through every single review before writing my own and there's a perfect 5 stars with each and every approved review; well deserved.

I would definitely recommend FCP&SS to anyone in need of their services.

Mike was extremely helpful. We got back from Tahoe to discover water bulging from our ceiling in our condo. Our shower upstairs sprung a leak. With it being after 7pm on a Sunday we got on Yelp to find a plumber that was willing to come help on a Sunday night. I called Mike and and he got out here in 20 minutes. He quickly assessed the issue with the shower and came back the next day to fix the pipes. On top of fixing our leaking shower, Mike also fixed out toilet that stuck when flushing. I recently moved to the Folsom area and own a home built about 35 years ago. The plumbing was working fine until disaster struck. The main sewage line clogged and not one but ALL the toilets backed up as well as the bathtubs and sinks! Not to mention the nasty sewage smell. This was at night and no one was answering the phone. I decided to shut off the water and wait it out until the morning.

I called 3 different 5 star plumbers I found on Yelp early the next morning. The first never returned my call, the second called back 2 hours later only to let me know they don't fix sewage main problems, and the third said they couldn't come out to look at it until late in the afternoon the next day. Mike was the 4th person I called and from now on he will be the first! Not only did he answer the phone himself we was at my house in less than 2 hours after finishing the job he was on! When he arrived he quickly and effectively diagnosed the problem, found where the roots got into the sewage pipe, cleared out the line, checked the line with a camera all the way to the street, added a extension to the pipe to prevent the problem again, and put on booties to protect our carpet before testing all the toilets and drains in the house. All this for less than what other 5 star plumbers charge just to look at you pipes with a camera!! Did I mention he also included a 90 warranty on his work?

I never met Mike before. I have no reason to give him such glowing praise except for the fact that he is exceptionally good at what he does and beyond fair and reasonable with his pricing. A bargain at twice the price, he has earned a lifetime customer.

Our kitchen sink was backing up in to the sink in the garage and he had it unclogged in less than 15 minutes. Very good price too. I have used First Call Plumbing twice. Both times they showed up and fixed my issue quickly. The last time they were able to clear a clogged external sewer line when another plumber failed. Mike was quickly available when I explained the issue the other plumber was having and how a dig was going to be very expensive. First call resolved the primary clog and then quoted me fairly for a spot repair. Highly recommend.

Called for plumbing issues. Mike was so prompt, he arrived earlier than expected and stayed with the camera in the pipes until I arrived to show me the problem with roots. I did tell Mike that this is the 2nd time I needed a plumber to come out, fortunately Mike was able to help me figure out the county side of the pipes had roots growing and called the county for me. He also called me back to check if the county came out there to fix it in the same day. Mike and his employee are honest, fast, and very affordable. I was so lucky to find this business!!! While he doesn't typically do indoor work, he walked me through how to unclog the drain myself....it was literally like 3 steps and it worked!!! Toilet backed up last night. I called the popular Sacramento place this morning and they said they could not service my house because it didn't have a clean out. On Christmas eve we started having water back up into our bathtub while doing laundry and then our bathroom toilet and sink started to not drain either. I tried several different bottles of drain cleaners that partially worked but decided to call a plumber on 12/26 to have it fixed right. I called Express Sewer & Drain that I found on Angie's List and they came out a couple of hours later. They couldn't find my house's clean out so I pointed to what I thought was it. They said it wasn't the clean out and that I needed to have one installed so they could run a 4 snake through it. They gave me a quote of $1289 to install one, plus another $147 to clear out the main line plus $100 to clear the bathroom sink (they said it was a separate issue) for a total of $1536. That didn't seem right to me so I looked in Yelp, saw all of First Call Plumbing's great reviews and gave them a call. They should have been my first call and will be in the future. They came over right after finishing up the job they were currently working on. Mike came to the door and I asked if he wanted to look at the bathroom. He said no and asked where the clean out was. I brought him to the same thing I brought the other plumbers to and he said, yes, that's the clean out, unscrewed it, and all kinds of gross stuff started coming out. He said he was pretty sure it was the city/county's issue and called them to look at it for me. Someone from the city came out, cleaned it out (there were some small roots growing in it) and was on his way. I ran water through the bathroom sink, tub and toilet and everything was working as it should again.

Thanks Mike for saving me over $1500! I appreciate your honesty, professionalism and great job in determining our issue and getting it resolved for us even though you didn't make a cent off of this trip. I will definitely call you first the next time I have a plumbing issue.

01/16/21 Update:
Dustin and Carlos came out this morning (despite it being a Saturday and the company not working on Saturdays) to run a camera down my pipes and determine what's going on. They found there was a toilet cap lodged in my sewer line (as far as I recall from my non-technical viewpoint) and, more importantly, they were able to flush the cap to a spot where it won't cause me trouble over the weekend then said they'd be back Monday morning to dig under my house and remove the section of pipe where it's lodged so they can remove the cap completely.

Unlike the other plumbers who came (I've had three backups since I bought the house in September, five plumbing companies in total and three cameras down the line), they said my sewer line is in good shape and it's just that cap that's causing all my clogs and backups. Once that's removed, they said I should be in good shape. AND, best of all, it's only going to cost me around $1,000 versus the $15,000 or $10,000 others wanted to charge me! No busting up my lawn to replace the sewer line! No redoing the toilet seals! 2-3 hours versus 2 days others quoted me!

I cannot thank these guys enough for their skill, knowledge, communication, and most of all their honesty. I won't call anyone else, going forward. I'm so happy to have found these guys! If you're using anyone else - stop and call First Call instead. These guys know what they're doing and they're not looking to make a buck. They're looking to fix the problem in the most efficient and cost-effective way. Wish I could give 10 stars! Love, love, love! Thank you guys!

First Call Plumbing popped up in my Yelp page as I was looking for sewer line repair service. I've been without plumbing in my house and have had to stay at a hotel for four days after my sewer line broke.

My original plumber (H&M Plumbing - I do not recommend) came to seal a leaky toilet and only after I suggested he go under the house first to make sure the toilet was really the issue did he find that the sewer line had busted. He turned off the water and said the repairs would require digging a trench from my front yard through the house and the cost would be in the ballpark of $15,000. I almost fell over. I know sewer line repairs are costly but I've been unemployed for four months. Lost my job right after buying this house so am nowhere in a position to pay $15,000.

I had to call a restoration company and pay some $1,000 for the clean up (Bio Safety Clean - they were great) then had H&M come back to inspect the damage. He then said it would cost around $10k but that he couldn't do the work until after the weekend. It's Friday afternoon. AND he charged me $189 just to go into the crawl space and get me an estimate! I asked if there were any other options we could consider and he said no.

I called a few other plumbers but no one could come out today since it's so late. Then I called and talked to Dustin. He asked a few questions over the phone (which no one else did) and gave me a few options for what they might be able to do (options nowhere near the $15,000 mark). He said he'd be out the next day at 8:00am (on a Saturday, no less!) and that either way, they'd get my plumbing back up and running tomorrow so I could move back to the house until final repairs could be completed. Either way, he gave me options that no one else suggested other than digging up my yard and charging me an astronomical amount I can't afford right now.

I'm so incredibly relieved and grateful I found Dustin. These guys will be my #1 going forward. Absolutely amazing customer service. I'll update once the repairs are made too.

Now I understand why these guys have so many 5 star reviews. We have had a leaky tub in our house for months. We contacted other plumbers early on who refused to even come out and look or attempt to fix the issue (worried about old pipes). Other plumbers said it would be thousands of dollars and ripping into tile work in the tub.
Not prepared to spend that kind of money, we let the leak drip until the drip became a steady stream and we couldn't ignore the problem anymore. I called again to several plumbers for quotes (some have still not returned my message) and Mike arranged for Dustin to be out within two days.
Dustin arrived on time and within minutes was able to assess the situation (not as bad as everyone else seemed to think) He went went out bought the parts and fixed the steady stream that was our bathtub faucet. What I was worried was going to be thousands of dollars and hole in my shower, turned into an easy fix for a little over 100 bucks. Dustin wasn't able to completely eliminate the leaking (someone before us had gone in a completely messed with the pipes and stripped important pieces) so he waived the fee for labor costs since he wasn't able to compete the job to his liking. A really stand up guy and stand up company that I will be recommending to everyone I know.

Mike and Carlos are very impressive even though I read all the reviews they received and was prepared to see awesome guys but still they surprised me on how professional and knowledgeable they are, on top of all that their rates are very reasonable, much lower than my expectation.
I was ready for a root clogging my sewer, these guys were equipped with a state of the art camera system that can penetrate the sewer up to 75 feet, dissecting it, and in less than 30 minutes the problem was solved.

We just moved into our house and noticed the toilets seemed to be clogged and would be okay after plunging. Well things got worse when both toilets began over flowing with raw sewage coming up everywhere including the tub and shower. Gross! I called the city sewage department first and they determined it was on my side. I immediately looked online and noticed First Call Plumbing had 150+ 5 star reviews. Nobody has 150 5 star reviews! That's amazing.
Anyway I now know why- Mike and Carlos came out and quickly diagnosed the problem with his state of the art equipment and cleared the blockage for a very reasonable price. Did not overcharge or up sell like many plumbers do.
If you need any sewer work done I would highly recommend Mike at First call Plumbing. He will treat you right and is very courteous and professional!

I think we got lucky stumbling across these guys. By comparison, the sponsored results at the top of the yelp search for plumber were at least $100 more expensive, wouldn't call me back to get on the schedule, or refused to give me a cost estimate beforehand. I don't often write reviews but my husband and I were really happy with the service. They brought their camera in, cleared a build-up of grease, and gave us some recommendations for maintenance so that we wouldn't have to call a plumber in. They undercut their own potential future business to save us some money down the road. Not to mention it was the cheapest option and we weren't even trying to go for what's cheapest. I was pleasantly surprised. They struck me as honest and reliable. We'll call them back for any future work needed.

Okay, so I can't say enough about Mike and this company! Not only was he there exactly when he said, he gave the best service that we've ever received from a service call for any reason.

This particular scenario, we had a plugged up bathroom and had already called a plumber the day before who spent a couple hours and didn't fix the problem. Instead, the first plumber tracked mud through my house, actually making it worse for me. When Mike got here, he did everything possible to avoid tracking anything in our house by putting on some fabric booties over his shoes like in a hospital.

Next, he didn't waste time with old fashioned techniques and got straight to his expensive camera snake is what I'll call it. Went down the line, then found exactly where the head of the snake stopped and was clogged.

Now, here's the best part and what separates Mike into a category of people that deserves praise. Instead of charging me the 500-600 that is common for this type of issue, Mike noticed that it was so close to the county clean out area that they should actually have to come and clear it for free. So we are currently waiting for the county to come handle this.

To add icing on top, instead of thanks for the money and just leaving without any further information, Mike told us to give him a call after the county is done, whether it worked or not, just to make sure everything went smoothly. If not, he said he'd be right back out when we need him. That my friend is real customer service and I appreciate it beyond belief!

In case you were having trouble reading the whole post and simply skipped go the conclusion....well in conclusion, I highly recommend Mike and First Call Plumbing!

Wow ..Look no further than First Call! I am so impressed by their service and willingness to go out of their way for you. I had a line back up and it flooded my bathrooms and all over the wood floors. I called my Home Warranty and they couldn't send anyone out for 4 days?! Really where would you like me to use the restroom for 4 days? I found 1st call on Yelp and they did not disappoint, Mike answered and I explained my situation and he was here in 30 minutes driving all the way from downtown from another job. Mike came out at 8AM on Saturday after my 8PM Friday night emergency call and he was prompt, communicative, courteous, knowledgable, and thorough. He diagnosed the source of my clog, located and replaced the sewer clean out, took video of my sewer line, replanted my planter bed (where the clean out was hidden and buried), and cleaned up all within 2.5 hours, WHILE sending me text messages and FaceTiming me to see what the issues were directly since I was not present at the home during the work. I called with some emergency plumbing issues, a guy picked up immediately, he then booked an employee Dustin who next day came to give an estimate, 4 other people including contractors, Plummer's and handymen came and never followed up. These guys are great! I have a clogged sewer drain and they tried their hardest to get it unclogged but it wouldn't happen. :( Mike told me he was going to call the county for me because he figured it might be on their side. He called them for me and they showed up in an hour, checked the sewage pipe and it is on their side. So they are fixing it and cleaning up the nasty mess it left in my backyard. This company is great to work with. I had a clogged drain line at my house causing both of my bathrooms to be unusable. Obviously this was a dire situation that needed to be fixed ASAP. After trying to contact 2 other highly rated companies on Yelp (which never returned my call), I next called Mike at First Call Plumbing. He answered immediately, was very friendly on the phone, and said he was able to come out to my home within a few hours. Shortly after hanging up, I received a text message from Mike confirming my address, phone number, and his expected time of arrival. When it was nearing his expected arrival time, I received a call from him stating he was on his way from his previous customer. He arrived slightly earlier than he had stated and quickly began working on my clogged drain. Within about 30 minutes, he was all finished and my bathrooms were fully functional once again. I would give First Call an 8 Star Review because every review of this Professional Service should rightfully be 5 stars.

When you have a problem with your plumbing or sewer system, you needed it to be done yesterday! I don't have to say too much about the service provided because you can get all of that info from previous reviews.

First, the problem is figured out without any guess work. Decision making is scientific and the hard work is done with ease. For those that have no clue and think that things are easy to fix and want to DIY, do not try this at home. Having the best equipment, experience, team work, and solutions, Mike and the team will exceed your expectations. Carlos is a champion! (the wife's word) Then, once the job's done, you don't just have a problem solved, you have a guarantee that it is the best option.

If you want to shop around for quotes or service options then go ahead and make those calls.

But if you want the problem solved for the best price, take the First Call, it might be your only.

Mike said he'd have someone out to look at my water main leak same day, and when Dustin couldn't make it, he came himself. He and Carlos made short work of the repair and showed me their work and the cracked pipe. He was personable and professional the whole time. He even helped me with a toilet repair while they were waiting for the repair adhesive to set, and that's not even the type of plumbing they do! He said unfortunately, he didn't have anyone available to come immediately (which I didn't expect anyway) so he was going to come himself after hours to fix the problem that very same evening. Mike and Carlos spent about 3 days not only clearing the blockage in my sewer line (which another company was unable to do) but ran a camera through the line and discovered a batch of roots that was causing the blockages. It turned out that the affected portion was the only remaining section of the line that was made of orangeburg and was over 68 years old! Mike suggested that the line be replaced - unfortunately the affected section was under a tiled hallway which meant that a trench had to be cut through tile and concrete. Mike and Carlos said that they could do the work and they did an excellent job. They were very careful to keep the dust and dirt confined to the hallway and out of the rest of the house.
I am very pleased with the work and highly recommend Mike and Carlos.

So glad I called Mike! My water was shut off and I needed emergency service on a holiday weekend. I was told the service line would likely need to be replaced. I cannot express enough how thankful I am for finding Mike! He is AWESOME!!! My main sewer line had roots growing in it at two different places. Over the last year, I've had several different plumbers come out for estimates and to snake the line. The estimates I was given ranged from $7k - $10k (Bonnie), $5k - $8k (Bell Bros) and $5k from a small business I met through my home warranty company. Out of all these, Mike was definitely the most responsive, coming out after 5 pm the same day I called. He was upfront and able to offer a set price that not only beat the others, but also came with a guarantee not to increase, a lifetime warranty from cleanout to cleanout and all County Permits/Inspections taken care of. Simply put, this is what Mike does. He owns his equipment and has over 25 years of experience. He is a man of his word, is professional and prompt and does all this with a great smile and attitude. Oh! I forgot to say, in our conversation, I mentioned that I had two broken sprinkler heads in my front yard and inquired if he'd be able to fix those as well... To my delight, not only did he fix the sprinkler heads, FREE of Charge, he also put down grass seed and sprayed black paint on the asphalt to cover the highlighter PG&E used to mark the utility lines in front of my house. We hired First Call Plumbing to do some work on our water main. This was something we needed done right away so that another project at our home could begin. Dustin came out on a Friday and gave us a highly competitive estimate for the job, and then showed up as scheduled the following Monday to do the work. Because it would be raining that day, two other plumbers, Mike and Carlos, arrived with Dustin so he would not have to do the entire job alone out in the rain. From all the awesome reviews i saw about FCP, I decided to give them a call when my toilet stopped working over the summer.

Mike & Carlos came out and did a fantastic job getting my plumbing working again in a super quick and efficient manner. They also told me about a problem i was going to have in the future with a piece of pipe that was collapsed near my property line that started the problem in the first place. They quoted me a price but he provided me instructions and told me how to check with the city first so that it could possibly save time and expense since it was so close to my property line.

The city came out - they told me i would have to do a ton of work including installing a new clean out at that part of the property before they would check it. Unfortunately i did not follow up. Winter comes and my toilet started backing up again due to the original problem. Kicking myself for not handling it sooner I called FCP to come out figuring they would need to schedule out some time to dig up the concrete in the alley, change out the pipe etc especially due to the bad weather.

Mike & Carlos came out and they did the complete job in a few hours and showed exactly why they are professionals in their field. They even showed me what they did before they put the concrete back in and laid the pipe. They also showed me the worse than expected 2ft long collapsed sewer pipe. They completed the project in a quick and cost effective manner and the quality of the finished work is great. I would highly recommend them for your plumbing needs.

Believe the 5 star reviews - First Call Plumbing is the best! I can not say enough about Mike and Carlos and their work. Very professional and pleasant / friendly as well. I called First Call (first choice after they did similar 5 star work for my parents a few years ago) early this morning after a late night sewer back-up...and these guys have already taken care of EVERYTHING. Mike even dealt with my HOA office for me. First Call scoped and cleared the pipes (and yes, as others have noted they showed me the images) then replaced the ancient, scaled 3 inch diameter pipe outside my house with new FOUR inch ABS plastic pipe. They also took the time to make a great match to the aggregate on my driveway after sealing up the access. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.

Fair, honest, responsive, reasonably priced and excellent work. We had backed up plumbing due to roots in the sewer pipe. We had another company come out and auger the line and about a month later it clogged again. So I called Mike at First Call Plumbing. We just moved into our home a month ago. Since then,we've dealt with blockage twice (the house had been vacant for some time). Trying to work with the warranty company we went through three plumbers who couldn't get the problem solved (the 4 clean out couldn't be located (one used the 2 clean out) and mostly scratched their heads about what to do). They were all very nice on their way out the door though..... The problem escalated from bathroom back ups to kitchen back up and laundry room overflow so I gave up on the warranty company and called Mike. I wish I could give Mike 10 stars because he really deserves it. I called him a few months ago to give me a third quote for some sewer repairs on a home I was considering buying. Mike blew me away when he called me back a few hours later to tell me that he had gone to the house and inspected the faulty section! I think maybe 3 hours had passed between my initial phone call and when he called me back--everyone else said they would need to schedule a visit but Mike clearly went above and beyond right away, and his quote came in much less than the other two. Then I got caught up in the whirlwind of escrow and this fell by the wayside.

Fast forward to Monday of this week when I called Mike back to do the work. The job was completed on Wednesday! He quickly sent pictures and a video of the new sewer section, was super communicative and available throughout the whole process, and made this experience completely painless. Dealing with a sewer issue sucks, but Mike was quick to answer my questions and concerns and was overall just a real pleasure to work with. As a very recent first time homeowner with 0 experience with this sort of stuff, I'd like to commend Mike for his professionalism, punctuality, and for making this big repair seem way less scary. Drains were backed up and I needed immediate help. I had called one other company before First Call and they couldn't come out until next day. I was very impressed and satisfied with this company and owner Mike. A couple weeks ago, my parents were staying at our house while my husband and I were out of town. I got a call from my parents that all of our toilets and showers were backed up with water. I searched yelp reviews and called First Call Plumbing and Sewer Service, and spoke with Mike. He was very nice, professional, and asked great questions to assess what might be the problem. He gave me a very reasonable price quote on the phone based on what he felt it would take to fix the problem (which was exactly what I paid). He told me he could be at the house in one hour. He was on time, and called me on two occasions to keep me informed of his assessment, plan - and then again once he was done. My parents said that he did good work and was very nice. Turned out, our problem was due to a blockage in the pipes (due to someone flushing baby wipes down the toilet). He removed the blockage and then sent a camera throughout our pipes to make sure all looked good. He called me before and after it was all done - keeping me in the loop the entire time. He told me it was best case scenario. He gave me good news, and didn't try to paint worse of a picture to get more money. His price was very reasonable and fair (better than what I was quoted on the phone by another plumbing company). I very much appreciated his professionalism, courtesy, thoroughness with assessing the problem, skill, promptness, honesty and follow-up. I can't say enough amazing things about Mike. He always, always answers his phone, is so personable and helpful. When we first moved into our 60 year old house, everything backed up while we had guest out. We had tried working with our insurance, 2 different plumbers and no luck. It kept happening. It was the day after Christmas and the sewer clean-out had water flowing from it. Called 1st Stop Plumbing who was on another job. Promised to be here in an hour and a half and arrived on time. A camera view of the interior of the sewer drain pipe revealed a task well done. A tiny more clean up of the job site would have made a 1st Class job.

Some weeks after this good experience we had need of a plumber for a failed water heater. We called First Call Plumbing and Sewer Service and Mike told us he ONLY does sewer work. Not clear why plumbing is in the name of his business. Now we know.

Don't you love when the county comes out and digs a hole in your front lawn and then tells you, you have to fix the problem within 2 days... oh and you're also responsible for filling in the hole they dug?! Whew! Let me tell you, it was an unexpected and stressful situation. So, the first thing I do is check yelp for a plumber.

Mike was one of the three I contacted, and although he wasn't the cheapest, he let me know that he knew exactly what I was dealing with and made me feel comfortable that he would fix this problem that same day. Just what I needed! He showed up when he said he would and also texted me to let me know when he was on his way.

I've had issues with my sewer main for about the last 6 months, and I finally got tired of snaking it every other day. I decided it was time to call a pro, and I couldn't be more delighted that I found Mike and Carlos at First Call.

Despite it being midday when I called, Mike and Carlos were at my doorstep within hours of my call. They quickly diagnosed the problem and resolved it. They invited me to watch the monitor as they cam'ed the lines, and showed me how bad the build up was.

I got a mainline plug in my sewer line that blocked all my plumbing. I had three different plumbers come out before Mike and all gave me astronomical quotes for the work. I called Mike, he came out within the hour, unplugged the line and installed a clean out so it can be fixed easier next time and did it all for less than quotes just for cleaning. I originally called these guys after getting a recommendation from a neighbor. We were getting quotes to redo our old galvanized pipes and I spoke to I think Mark on the phone. We agreed on a date for someone to come give a free estimate and Dustin showed up on time as scheduled. I liked him from the get go - very down to earth, he was honest and wasn't pushy at all. Amazing! I called Rooter Hero to clear my drain. It cost me $77.00 and he was not able to clear it. And he recommended a high power clean out for the price of $1900.00!

My kitchen sink and bathtub drains stopped draining late on a Weds. evening, and obviously I figured I should wait until the next morning to call someone in to avoid emergency charges, so I got busy on Yelp and this guy had amazing reviews. I called him the next morning, he listened well, asked intelligent questions, and agreed to come out once done with his other obligations. He kept me informed of arrival ETA as well as when he was on his way and was up front about the cost, going by what I told him, but said he'd check and not charge me if he couldn't fix it (I thought it would be roots but I was wrong). Once he arrived, he realized it was actually a different issue and needed to go up to my roof to fix it (I'd forgotten that was a thing, but had needed it a dozen or so years ago too). He again was upfront about the cost and it was very reasonable. Next thing I know, it's fixed and he's leaving my receipt with a 30-day warranty. I hope I don't need him often but am very happy with his work and will both recommend him as well as will call him next time I have an issue. 5 stars!

Main sewer line was backed up due to a crack in the sewer line with tree roots getting into it. The crack was near the city's main sewer which is located near the sidewalk and my front lawn. Since the city's clean out is located 6 from the city's main line on my property, it's now my responsibility to fix it. I called a couple plumbers and one showed up about 6 hours later but Mike with First Call Plumbing showed up in only 15-20 mins with Carlos because he was wrapping up from another job. One plumber wanted to charge me $225 for the Sewer Camera Inspection task but Mike said he'll do that and troubleshoot the problem for free. He was very prompt, courteous and professional as he's been doing this for like 30 years or so. He was very accommodating. He even took time out to show me all his impressive modern plumbing equipment that can do major plumbing jobs including the trenchless pipe replacement. His main goals were to make his customers happy and do the job right. Just look at his reviews and you'll understand the kind of guy he is. Since it was raining that whole week, I told him to wait until Thursday when the rain was supposed to stop but he showed up on the property to start work on Monday despite the rain. The job was done by noon...amazing. These guys don't mess around!!! Him and his work crew take their work seriously, rain or shine. I was impressed that Mike and his crew were able to start 3 days earlier because the sooner the better. The city sewer department advised me to fix the sewer line ASAP because if raw sewage gets into the sidewalk gutter drain, dept of Fish and Wildlife could fine the owner so Mike was on top of it. They were totally reliable and competent. He said he guarantees his work including any drain clearing at no costs for the section that he replaced. I would use First Call Plumbing again without a doubt. Thanks to Mike for getting me out of a jam.

Mike Brunson runs an honest, fast and inexpensive plumbing service. I have used him for years to do simple drain clean-outs...his price was always lower than the competition and he did an equally fast and thorough job. Recently, I had to have the main drain to my house replaced due to very bad root damage. I went to Mike first, but due to the size of the job, I had another major company bid for the job. Mike's price was a whole lot cheaper...but I was a little nervous because I had never seen his work on such a big job.

Long story short...he did a fantastic job, cutting out concrete, digging a trench in my front yard, replacing the pipe, and putting it all back together, in less than 5 hours!! The lawn barely looks touched, and the concrete job was very nicely done... a good match to the original finish.

I highly recommend this plumber for all your plumbing needs, big and small.

I am a new homeowner who just made my first plumbing call. Mike the owner brought a total of a 3 man team to remove some hair clogs in my sewer line. Mike also toured the property with me showing me various important aspects of the plumbing, including the water main shut off, water meter and where my line connects to the county. He made sure I was comfortable with my new home.

Mike and Carlos left for another job while leaving my house in the skilled hands of Dustin who installed a new sprinkler valve replacement set and a new basin sink. I am VERY happy with the quality of work as well as the price. They also fixed a couple small leaks and included it in the price of the major work. These guys are all experts in their field of plumbing who are happy to share their knowledge without talking down to you at all. Very professional. I contacted them after being stood up for 3 days by another company. Mike arrived an hour after I had spoken with him. There were roots in my pipe causing a back up. Mike and Carlos dug down to the pipe,replaced it, all within a couple of hours. I can not comment on price since I am a renter. But, my landlord had another company come out and give us a quote before 1st Call Plumbing came out and he declined their offer So, based on how quickly he accepted 1st Call Plumbings quote I would have to assume the price was right. I would not hesitate to call them again to fix my plumbing.

Yesterday (Saturday), late in the day (about 5PM), we experienced a complete sewer drainage problem at our home that left the toilets totally inoperable. Given the late hour on a weekend, we were a bit flummoxed as to how to deal with this rather urgent problem. Searching about on Yelp, we quickly found FIRST CALL PLUMBING AND SEWER SERVICE and called to seek some immediate help, after noting a great many highly approving reviews of their services.

'Mike', whom I talked with there, promised a visit as soon as he was able, although due to other scheduled visits there would be a delay in responding (again, it was late Saturday, after dark, with rain). Since our problem might also be a City Utilities matter, we also called them and they dispatched a city specialist to our home and were able to reopen the drainage line from our home to the main sewage conduit, thereby making Mike's visit unnecessary.

Although Mike didn't get to help us directly, I was terribly impressed by his willingness to help us with this rather serious problem and if the city hadn't been able to quickly resolve the issue, we would most definitely have trusted Mike & Carlos to take care of things for us. Mike's attitude, his willingness to help, his reasonable costs, and his clearly apparent professional competence were all quite impressive and I am happy to recommend FIRST CALL to any others who may have a pressing immediate need for his plumbing services.

Our pipe leading from the sewer line to the house was clogged with tree roots. This has happened before so we assumed we could rent a snake from home depot and take care of it ourselves. WRONG. After attempting all day to fix it ourselves we gave up and called Mike around 4:30 pm on a FRIDAY! He answered right away and was at our house within an hour. He worked on our house until about 7:30 pm, again this was a Friday, and was able to fix the issue. He even ran a camera down the pipe to see the what the issue was which was, as we assumed, a cracked pipe. He quoted us a price to get our pipe replaced and I'm sure when we are ready to have that done he will be our first call.

He quoted us $150 on the phone before he came and honored that price even though he worked on the pipe longer than expected. We will definitely be calling Mike for any future plumbing needs.

As the name implies, this company should be your first call if you have any plumbing or sewer problems. They are very honest and most reliable. You won't get better service anyplace else and they won't try to charge you for anything you don't need. Very competitive pricing too. I would recommend these guys over any other plumbing / sewer company in Sacramento area.

Mike and his team are a gem. I was in escrow and buyers determined there was a sewer problem all of a sudden even though drain flows were fine. I said i'll look into this and then started looking for a plumber. I found First Call and saw great reviews so i called and talked to Mike who answers the phone. We discussed an approach and what he thought the best course of action was. He came out scoped it with a camera and found no problem with the sewer and recommended a jet clean as the usual minor buildup occurred. I agreed and had him put in a 2 way jet clean access as well. He and Carlos were phenomenal. They happen to have time the same day and i was very pleased. They do quality work and waste no time about it. Clean out installed, jet cleaned and re-scoped at a reasonable and fair cost. Mike and his company have integrity which is so hard to come by in today's world. I recommend this company fully!

Had to give these guys a shout out. We had an unexpected mainline blockage on our home which caused all the toilets and showers to backup in our home. Both toilets were unusable so it was stressful to say the least.

We were referred to Mike from Iverson Plumbing (which was a very professional thing to do) and Mike picked up immediately. When I explained the situation I knew he had heard from guys like me a million times but he still had the patience to listen.

Since it was a semi-emergency he made the time to swing out to assess the situation on his way to another job. Once he arrived and saw it was pretty standard, he shifted his schedule to knock out the work quickly!

Even threw in a scope inspection to determine where potential trouble spots and where the main blockage (roots) was happening so we can address in the future.

They definitely have future customers in us for any future (hopefully non-emergency) needs.

I scheduled an 8am appointment with First Call Plumbing and Mike and Carlos arrived right on time. I even received a text letting me know they were on their way. Mike was very polite and thorough and explained each step of the process as he went along. Mike and Dustin were at our house about a month ago. This was the 2nd time using First Call for a drain issue at our house. They did a great job. They were courteous, professional and efficient. Mike kept us informed as to when he was en route to our house which was within 24 hours of the initial call. Mike charged us a reasonable for their service and we did not feel gouged. We bought a house and the pre-sales inspections revealed there were many different types of leaks under the house. On one day Dustin came and did a valve cartridge replacement to fix a shower valve from leaking, and worked on some of our other problems. Since those jobs went well for us then on another day Dustin, Carlos and Mike spent an entire day under our house replacing all of the waste plumbing so there were no more leaks from the sinks, showers or other fixtures. They wore masks and booties whenever they came into the house. When they were finished I went down and checked all of it closely. I'm an engineer and I'm pretty picky on having work on my house done right. The First Call team did a great high quality job, gave a good warranty. The price was fair. A group of very nice, very humble, hard working plumbers who do high quality work. We highly recommend them.

After two very good plumbing services gave their diagnosis of the drain stoppage, with an estimate of $5k for work that I had doubts about, I contacted Mike at First Call for a third opinion. His experience with older homes was invaluable -- this one was built 1926. He came out promptly, used his shovel and camera, and made a diagnosis that made sense to me after living with the problem of root tangles here since 1977. Amazingly, we were able to find a clear-out buried in the garden right near the problem area, the City investigated with their echo-locator and pinpointed the issues, dug up the street, replaced the old cast iron pipe where every joint has a curtain of roots, all at no cost. One of the estimators came out to see what Mike had diagnosed and acknowledged his mistake. Mike spent time and energy and got into the muck, and did not want any payment -- just a mention on Yelp. Of course!

Dustin saved us today!! We love this company. Mike and Carlos came out and did work for us previously. Today we learned we had a huge leak behind the shower wall. We called Mike and he was able to shuffle time around so that Dustin, who was in the area, could come by. Dustin has the leak fixed within an hour. He was able to show us where the crack was in the cartridge behind the shower handle, went and got the replacement part for us, and installed it with the same temperature setting we previously had. He knew how to do everything correctly and fast. Dustin is an amazing plumber! This company only has highly trained, professional plumbers, which is refreshing after some bad experiences elsewhere. Dustin answered questions about the shower, toilet and general plumbing I had. I will be using this company for my plumbing needs for life. Thank you Dustin (and Mike for getting Dustin out the same day)! You guys saved me a major headache. I get to use my master shower tonight instead of having to try to climb into a tub with my disabilities. Same day fix = lifesaver!

I called Mike about a plugged drain line that was backing up water in both kitchen sinks. Luckily he happened to be working in the Carmichael area already. He said he would be available within about 2 hours and would call again before coming by. He called on time and said he would arrive within 20 minutes. He arrived on time and went to straight work on the cleanout outside. Based on the problem I had described to him over the phone, he said he did not need to go in the house. He used a professional snake to go about 65'-70' under the house, and within 10 minutes the sewer line running under my slab-floor house was clear and free of any blockage. He showed us the ball made of lint from the washing machine and grease from the kitchen. He recommended not to let any food scraps go down the kitchen sink drain and that there wasn't much one could do about the washing machine discharge. A job well done on time. The best $125 I ever spent. I would gladly pay it again to have such service and to get this problem off of my back when I most needed it to be done.

Mike and his team came out to fix a partially-blocked sewer line. Every few years we've had to get it snaked out, but the underlying problem was never identified. After we got the problem clarified, Mike provided a very competitive quote, a lot lower than a competitor offered. He also investigated further into the issue, and was very keen to share what he was seeing with me, so I felt empowered to understand the issue too and be kept fully in-the-loop.

Mike also eased our concerns of another blockage before he could make the repair by preemptively snaking the line again. On the day of the actual repair he and his experienced crew came out right on time, and were efficient, tidy, and effective. They also added another sewer line clean-out valve near the end of the line, and they fixed the existing valve that had been installed poorly.

If you need sewer work done, these guys are top-notch.

Back story
I needed my main sewer line cleaned out. I called one company and waited almost a week for my appointment. Day of the appointment they never showed. The following morning plumber number two came out, but he couldn't clear the line. Then I turned to Yelp, looked for someone with great reviews and I found 1st Call Plumbing. Mike was able to come out with in one hour of my call.

I told him my story and he was determined to get my line cleared out. After he got the pipe cleared we had a talk. Mike: You know you have Orangeburg, right? Me: Yep, I know I've been living on borrowed time. Has my time run out? Mike: Yep. He showed me the pipes using the scope. There were roots everywhere, sections that were eroded, and sections that were all but collapsed. Dang, time to replace the main line.

He gave me an estimate (it was fair, I've had other estimates), and told me it would take a few days. My question was how long would I be without sewer? He told me never more than a few minutes to an hour and he would never leave me overnight without sewer available. He came back on Saturday with a couple of guys and inserted the pipe. He explained everything that was being done and let me see the work in action. As far as I know I was only without sewer for about 15 minutes. He came back on Sunday, day of the big storm, to make sure everything was ok. I really appreciated that.

Tuesday the inspector came out all was good, Mike filled the holes at the insertion points and put in a new clean out, that actually looks like a clean out and it's in a much better place than the old one. He waited for me to get home from work so we could settle up and he was on his way to his next job. He did great work and his customer service is impeccable.

Six stars? Seven? This company is absolutely amazing and deserves beyond five stars. I literally recommend them to everyone and anyone seeking an expert in sewer lines.

I have an old 1950s house in Sacramento that has some, um, vintage sewage pipes. Over the past few years, Mike has been coming out to help me slowly replace areas that need updating. He's super honest about what can make it another few years and what's got to be replaced sooner. And his prices are far below the big commercial outfits in Sacramento.

He'll break his back to come out ASAP if he knows there's an emergency. And he's literally the most professional, most reliable, and most trustworthy tradesman I've ever worked with. Highly, highly recommend!

GREAT PLUMBING SERVICE! I was having a serious emergency (well in my opinion), my pipes backed up and s*** literally flooded my bathroom through my shower drain. I called this company in a true panic and hysteria and Mike was so polite, walked me through what to do and calmed me down. Well, my toilet was backing up and plunging didn't help. Using the shower and upstairs toilets caused more issues. I called several other places...but none could accommodate until A WEEK OUT!!! (So, basically I couldn't use anything with water down a drain for a week...yeah, that's gonna work). I called, Mike said he'd be out after he was done with his current call. He knew my area (Campus Commons). He was prompt, he knew immediately it was the main drain. He cleared it and showed me someone had flushed heavy cleaning towels and part of a shirt. I can't begin to say how wonderful Mike and his team are. Here we are in the middle of a global pandemic and our bottom floor floods from a cracked sewer line. I called Mike at 10AM and his crew was patching up my garage floor at 4PM. I have 2 small kids so I could not have sewage on my floors. He knew how important this was for us. Do yourself a favor and put First Call on speed dial...

Mike and Carlos were SO professional the first time around, there was no question who I was going to call during our second escrow!

The home in question was built in the 70's so although we weren't concerned about a potential Orangeburg sewer collapse, we did want Mike's opinion on the condition of the line BEFORE we closed on the home. Sure enough Mike found that a thick tree root had worked its way into the sewer line, and he estimated that it would undoubtedly cause problems with the plumbing in six months or so, as the root continues to grow.
Armed with that information, along with Mikes digital film, we requested that the seller have the line repaired before the close of escrow. Thanks again, Mike...you saved us a lot of hassle and a couple thousand dollars. You're the BEST!

Mike and Carlos did a video inspection at another property for me yesterday and again the service was great. Mike returned my call in 10 min and was able to show up the same day. Because the sewer line was collapsed or full of dirt for another reason Mike said I wouldn't be charged anything. Of course I paid for their time and effort anyway but what a great business man. First Call is absolutely the best name for this business because this is the first company you should call if you have any type of plumbing, etc. issue. We had a gas line that needed to be moved in order to accommodate our new high end stove and we were given the runaround by several different companies that we contacted. I called Mike at 12:15 and he had someone at my house by 4:30 and the job completed before 6pm. I now plan on using First Call to install a water softener, and have referred them to two friends already. These guys are GOOD!!!! I've worked with many plumbers in my 20+ years managed properties, and I never had anyone this efficient, professional and thorough the entire process. I wish I had known about them YEARS ago!!!

Just want to say that I was really impressed with Mike and his service. My sewer line was overflowing and he made sure I was a priority visit. He came out on a rainy day and took one look and said I could do it for you but this is a city issue. If you call them, they will be out in two hours and do it for free. I really appreciated his honesty when other companies probably knew it was a city issue as well, but quoted me over $4,000 to repair it. I called the city and sure enough, someone was out in 2 hours and fixed it. Later that evening Mike called to check in on me and make sure all was okay. THIS is the kind of service I am talking about: honest, knowledgeable, fast, friendly. Don't hesitate calling this company.

Mike was hands down one of the best plumbers I have ever had to call on for help. We were in Escrow for a house and he did just a super thorough inspection and he came out a second time for me and really cut me a deal. He discovered a major plumbing issue in the sewer pipeline and that really could have cost me thousands of dollars. Mike really knows his stuff and took his time to educate me on the plumbing issues and answered all my questions. He was timely with everything, he made himself available even on his busiest of days to help us meet our inspection deadline, he was on site before any of us and he provided the inspection videos within a day of the inspection. I can't say enough about the level of service Mike provided. First of all I should say that as an insurance adjuster I see my share of good and bad in the industry and Mike is definitely one of the best. I had a sewer backup that affected every drain in my home. I spent the better part of a day calling our home warranty service trying to get them to assign me a plumber for that day. I got the run around and finally gave up and called my own. Thanks to yelp I found Mike. He was at my place in less than an hour, gave me some suggestions on where to look for a plumbing cleanout and told me to call in the AM if I still needed him (he didn't charge for this which is unheard of in this day and age). I did call him the next morning and he came out first thing in the morning and within a couple hours had a cleanout installed, roots snaked and removed and ran a camera to show me the condition of my sewer line. He charged me half of what I was quoted by other companies. Do not hesitate to call Mike at First Call if you have a sewer problem!

First and foremost: ALL of the 5 star reviews are unequivocally appropriate.

Here's my experience with background:

I had attempted to snake our sewer line with a rental from Home Depot primarily due to the usual prohibitive cost of calling a professional. In my attempt, a 20 foot section of the professional plumber snake broke off in my main sewer line. I went back to Home Depot and was essentially told the breakage was my fault and was offered no help in rectifying the now exacerbated problem. Using their chat service, my unfortunate first contact with a professional was Bell Bros., also with whom I have a membership giving me discounted service. In my chat I had explicitly indicated there was a 5/8th inch professional snake broken off in my sewer line, there is no clean-out available to retrieve the snake and the broken snake needed be retrieved prior to another snake being used; I was told this set of circumstances was not an issue and should not affect the cost of service. Be aware, just to have Bell Bros. dispatched to your house usually costs $79.95, which is where Mike and First Call Plumbing starts to outshine his competition. The technician was completely unaware of the facts I told the chat representative not 12 hours prior. The technician then proceeds to tell me because there is a broken snake he cannot use another snake to clear the clog and Bell Bros doesn't have the equipment to retrieve the broken snake. So my question at this point is:WHY THE HECK did I just pay you to be dispatched to my house for you to tell me what I told your representative yesterday and have you reiterate what I already know??? So the Bell Bros technician quoted me ONE THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED dollars to locate my sewer pipe and install a 2-way clean-out, which didn't include unclogging the pipe or removing the broken snake. Needless to say I was done.

I turned to Yelp and THANKFULLY found First Call Plumbing.

Mike and I agreed to a next day meeting, to which he arrived early preceded by a confirmatory call. Unlike Bell Bros., Mike actually listened to my situation, we discussed the situation with all available options. I was won over by his professionalism, compassionate demeanor, honesty and EXCEPTIONAL value. Furthermore, Mike was 100% transparent throughout the entire process even allowing me to take a picture of the root ball occluding my sewer pipe. We agreed upon a plan of action and now I have a functioning sewer line for significantly less than Bell Bros was trying to wring out of me. I am going to discontinue my Bell Bros membership and keep First Call Plumbing in my contact list for any future needs.

In essence, DO NOT HESITATE to call Mike at First Call Plumbing with your issue, he is unlike the big companies in every possible POSITIVE way.

Mike was so responsive, accommodating, and professional. He has a wealth of experience and knowledge that was clearly demonstrated on the job he did for us. Previous plumbers were baffled by some of the peculiarities of our property which Mike understood within minutes after arriving.

I called and left a vm, Mike (I think) got back to me quickly and we texted which is cool for me. He went out to my Pocket area property in the rain an hour later and snaked the sewer line to fixed the backup problem. That is above expectation in my book. If you didn't get the service you expect, keep in mind they may have 4 clients demanding immediate response. My experience with First Call was exceptional. I'd definitely use them again but they only work on lines outside the house.

I was buying an old house and needed a second opinion on a sewer inspection. Mike came out the same day on the 4th of July to perform the video inspection and his recommendation came out a couple of thousand dollars cheaper than the first inspection. The first company recommended hydro jetting and replacing an underground sewer line that would have cost me an extra few grand. Mike recommended hydro jetting only and didn't think the sewer line needed replacement based on his experience. So I went with him to perform a hydro jetting to clean out the sewer line. He reinspected the sewer after the work was done and gave me a 5-year warranty on his work. The price was fair and reasonable. I'd gladly recommend First Call Plumbing and Sewer.

I can't recommend Mike and his company highly enough! I had a big sewer line issue on New Year's Day. Trying to find a plumber on a holiday is tough, so I was happy to reach Mike. Unfortunately, he was sympathetic but couldn't fit me into the schedule until the following Monday, after the holiday weekend.. I couldn't use the toilet, so I decided to call around to get someone out sooner. That company proved unreliable, so I went crawling back to First Call and Mike on Monday. Mike was still busy, but said he thought he could make it out later that day and would get right back to me. He did, as promised, and his communication continued to be excellent. He updated me on his anticipated arrival time and texted me when on the way.

When Mike and his worker came, they quoted me the same price as the other plumber. His worker, Carlos, started digging and Mike went to get the needed parts. The big job was finished within a few short hours. Mike took the time to explain the job, and showed me the pipe cam images where the roots were causing the issue. The guys were friendly, helpful, and efficient. Mike ended up charging considerably less than his initial quote, saying it turned out to be an easier fix than he first thought. This speaks to his honesty, since he didn't have to lower his charge. Also, when I offered he and his worker a tip, Mike insisted that it all go to Carlos.

I highly recommend Mike and his company First Call. Good to know: this company specializes in outside sewer line issues and doesn't generally fix inside plumbing.

The 70 year old orangeburg sewer line in my backyard needed replacement, so I researched a few trenchless sewer companies and received 3 different estimates. So last Saturday while getting ready to go out our entire house sewer backed up. Fortunately for me Mike and First Call Plumbing was willing to make an emergency call on a Saturday. Since I knew where the problem's already existed I was confident in their evaluation of the problems which seemed very accurate. Mike came out and found the leak immediately. Did an excellent repair. He spent a lot of time clearing the cold water line of any possible pipe cement residue. Believe the other reviews. These guys are fantastic. Mike and Carlos came out after I had 3 different plumbers look at our shower drainage problems. None of them were able to figure it out. Mike had it diagnosed with his camera in no time and was able to come out first thing the next morning to replace part of the main sewer line, a new shower drain line, and a cleanout. After nine months we can finally take showers without it backing up into both bathrooms. They finished the job in the amount of time promised, charged a reasonable rate for the work that was done, and even did a great job cleaning up after themselves. I highly recommend them and will never call anyone else.

First of all this is my first yelp review. I was so impressed with 1st Call Plumbing and Sewer Service I felt compelled to write.
We called 1st Call Plumbing based on positive Yelp reviews. When other plumbers were unable to respond to our video sewer inspection request on the 60 year house we were buying, 1st Call was available to complete the inspection before our inspection contingency deadline expired. Mike from 1st Call was able to provide a video inspection as well as an estimate to replace the sewerline that we were able to present to the seller. He also provide a waterline replacement estimate on 1 days notice. The seller agreed to credit us a $5000 to replace the sewerline based on Mike's inspections and estimates.
Once we closed on the house and secured other estimates, we selected 1st Call Plumbing to do the work. Mike was the most competitive, and most importantly, accepted the risk associated with trenchless construction while other estimates were conditional, potentially leading to higher cost if difficult conditions were encountered.
1st Call started work the next day and had the sewerline replaced, inspected, and cleared the City permit in just 5 days. Though we weren't occupying the house yet, the sewer was out of service for less than a day as the new line was pulled through the existing deteriorated and ovaled 60 year old pipe.
Mike was great keeping us informed on progress, keeping our property secure, the work area clean and safe, and executing the work promptly. My Realtor will be recommending 1st Call Plumbing and Sewer Service to his clients in the future and I will call Mike whenever I need plumbing help. He provided a lifetime warranty on hids work also.

With all the plumbing choices in the Sacramento area - it can be quite overwhelming to find the right company. So, we looked on Yelp - and after reading several reviews, we chose FIRST CALL PLUMBING AND SEWER SERVICE. SO GLAD we did!

Mike Brunson (the Owner) came to our home with his assistant Carlos to find the source of a leak under our house. Mike was very cordial over the phone. They showed up when promised - and did a THOROUGH job, checking ALL our water sources (kitchen, bathroom, and laundry area).

Other companies will just shine a light under the house. But, Carlos actually climbed under the house to access the situation. Mike gave us a great quote, and both worked together SERVING EACH OTHER to get the job done in less than 2 hours! It was SO REFRESHING to see this type of Team Work!

I HIGHLY recommend these guys and will DEFINITELY be calling them in the future! YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!

Our toilet was not flushing and then we noticed that liquids were oozing out in the side yard. We called 1st Call Sewer Service and Mike was quick to show up on the same day! He put the camera in the sewer line and showed us what the problem was where the clay pipe (old house) had broken. He gave a price estimate and came out 8am today and fixed it!! This company is now my go-to for any plumbing issues I need handled for as long as I live in Sacramento. They were incredibly easy and responsive to communicate with, and Dustin showed up on-time and in a mask. He not only provided absolutely superb explanations of the leakage issue we were having in our shower but patiently and easily explained to us how we can address future issues as they arise.

dude. These guys were faaaantastic. Downstairs toilet wasn't flushing, and had some strange flooding in our front yard. Drain backups never happen at a convenient time. I was cleaning house in preparation for a BBQ with friends and running a load of dog towels. Unsurprisingly, my dog leaves her mark everywhere and there was likely a fair amount of hair pumping out of that washing machine.

You know when water is draining where it's supposed to and when it's not. As soon as I heard water splashing on tile I made a beeline for the back porch and turned the corner just as water flowed across the floor. Shut down the washer, grab towels, and check Yelp for a sewer service.

The first one on the list was an ad and I pass their shop on Cap City, so there was already that name recognition. I called and it rang, and rang, and rang, and I finally got an impossible phone tree that apparently expected me to know the name of the service person I wanted to reach. I hung up. The strong arms are apparently from stabbing numbers in a vain attempt to reach a live person.

Okay Steve, be smart about this. It's Yelp. Go to number one and trust your fellow Yelpers to lead you down the right road.

I called First Call and Mike answered right away. He was at another job, but took a few minutes to find out what my problem was. He asked a couple questions and determined that I likely didn't have a plug in the main line but in the smaller kitchen line. He told me upfront how much the call would be and said he would be there in an hour.

He texted me that he was on the way and sure enough about five minutes later I heard the gurgling sound of the kitchen sink clearing. I texted him that it cleared but it would probably be a good idea if he still came to at least run a cable through it. He called me a minute later and be sure that was what I wanted or I wanted to wait and see. I told him I would like to check it out anyway.

Mike arrived shortly after, followed by Carlos who first snaked the drain and upon approval, ran a camera down the line to check for any problems. He discovered roots in the main line right by the cleanout and Mike said they could either fix or I could wait and would probably be fine for quite awhile.

I am already running into plenty of issues caused by the prior owner that seemed to do everything half-assed. I decided this was one of those times where I just need to get it done right and not worry about it.

First Call did nice, clean work and put in cleanouts the way they were supposed to in the first place. Carlos worked quickly and Mike explained everything as they went. While I had no plan to spend hundreds of dollars on a Saturday morning, I feel the price was pretty reasonable for the work done.

Don't mess around with any other company - they are First Call for a reason.

Mike is amazing! As a single mom, it's always difficult to find people you trust to give you an honest/fair assessment. He came recommended to me by a local agent who does a high volume of sales. I had one of my sons take off a shower grate and throw a big bouncy ball down the drain. I had called other companies about this issue and all of them told me it would be between 200-500 dollars to fix this issue. I called them still hoping to get a better price. He told me this wasn't the type of work he did since he was more the outdoor plumbing but he would still give me some advice to try and help. I was told by them to try using a shopvac to see if I could get the ball out. Sure enough that worked and they saved me a lot of money other companies were going to try and charge me. It's good to see that there are still some businesses out there that still try to help out the customers without trying to rip them off.

A tale of bike tires and new cement...

We had some drain issues in our house causing pipes to back up. We called Mike and he and Carlos were able to come out within a few hours. We ended up having a corroded pipe replaced that required cutting concrete in our driveway. After the new pipe was installed, new concrete was laid and we were all set.

You'd think that was the end of the story but within a few hours, our neighbor's kid ventured onto our driveway and rode over the wet concrete a few times. :-) We called Mike and Carlos back to see if there was something we could do to prevent the tire marks from sticking. They said it was no problem and Carlos came back out to rewet the cement and smooth it out at no additional charge.

It's never a joy to see your sewer line backed up and flowing over your back yard...especially at 6 PM! I knew there was trouble so I did a quick search for sewer line companies on Yelp and First Call Plumbing & Sewer Service was highly rated...so I gave them a call at 6:30 PM. Mike immediately answered and said they'd be there at 8 AM the next day!

Promptly at 8 AM he shows up...very professional and also really nice. I showed him the overflowing clean-out and he brought back his large double bladed sewer line cleaner...he had to go about 50' down the line to find the obstruction. I could see the water start flowing again!

Then Carlos (his long term business partner) arrived with the sewer camera...they snaked it down the line. Fortunately, my line from my house to the city sewer connection looked perfect. But the connection point at the city sewer had roots growing in due to an old coupling that had allowed roots to grow in. During this whole time, Mike is explaining how the older sewer systems were constructed and the issues related to them.

I saw first hand what was going on and agreed that we needed to replace the coupling...otherwise I'm calling him back in less than a year. He and Carlos immediately got to work and after a 4' hole was dug and they exposed and replaced the connection, Mike decided (at no extra cost) to extend the repair down to the actual city main line. It was really nice work. He could have easily said that will cost another $300!

They finished up, backfilled the hole and even spread the leaves from my grapefruit tree so it looked like no one had excavated anything! They were incredibly neat...replacing everything they had moved, picking up random pieces of dirt/mud, etc.

All in all, I can highly recommend Mike & Carlos...they just seemed to really care about what they did and left everything neat and tidy! Well done!

I've had at least half a dozen different area plumbers work on homes over the past 5-6 years. When I purchased my new home last year these guys came out and did a fantastic job inspecting all of the lines. Exceptionally comprehensive inspection involving cameras being ran down multiple main lines to the city return. They also did visual and camera runs through several returns, clean outs and vents on the house. They went above and beyond all of my expectations for an inspection.

First Call did a fantastic job with my drain problems they were able to find the issues that Super mario plumbing and better b plumbing couldn't find and they put in the time and effort to evaluate all my problems with draining in a timely manner so glad i called these guys, they saved me thousands of dollars and before calling them i've already spent $550 for drain cleaning with the other companies!! I called around other plumbers and the only one i felt comfortable with was First call, believe me when i say these guys will save you money they helped the problem so much! These guys are on point and knows what they're doing. Call these guys before you call other plumbers you won't regret it.

I never wrote a review for anyone until today. This is my very first but I truly believe that MIKE deserved a GOOD review. Like many others gave him. The other night, our all 3 bathrooms started to back up and were clogged badly. Early in the morning it got even worse. Of course first thing I did is google a plumber and I contacted *** Rooter (will not mentioned company) since it's the first one showed up in the screen and make an appointment. I thought I should call another back up plumber incase the first one cancels or doesn't show up. I found MIKE from YELP. I saw the 5 stars and called him. I explained to him that all 3 baths are clogged and need help ASAP. He said he can't showed up right away but if I can wait he can by 4:30 or sooner. I was honest and told him that I called someone already then he said, if they give me a ridiculous quote, call him back.

*** Rooter showed up as scheduled time. I wasn't present but as per my brother he is young and very polite, he did what he supposed to do, then he called me and explained that he CANT' find the appropriate clean out, but let say its present it will cost me $700. But since there's no appropriate clean out, he has to remove the toilet bowl and will cost me $350, plus extra cost for whatever reason he told me in a total of $1,200

I thought that is ridiculous, so I told him I will call my husband. I did and he thinks that too much. So I called MIKE again and explained to him what the other guy told me. MIKE was very nice and said if I can wait he will show up by 4:30pm or sooner.

3pm Mike text me and told me that he should be at my location by 30 minutes. Which was an 1 hour early than we had discussed. He arrived and as per my brother description, MIKE patiently looked all over outside the house and he found the appropriate clean out...YEY, just for that I save $350 already. Plus, he did what he supposed to do, he called all GOOD NEWS... He is so funny and jokingly told me that there is no problem in my plumbing, the problem is the user because he found a lot of baby wipes. He gave me an honest advice to be careful what to throw in the toilet bowl plus he only charge me $200.00. I basically save $1000 whoooh.

Like other review he received in YELP, MIKE is very honest, knowledgeable and he is concern with your pocket. I saved his number and will surely refer to anyone of my family and friends.

I've had to call Mike 3 or 4 more times since my original post for other issues, and each time he has delivered with flying colors. I seriously can't think of a better guy. Nobody wants to have plumbing issues, but this guy will fix you right up, and at an extremely reasonable rate. I have no worries or concerns depending on him.

I was using a home warranty company, and their plumbers failed me multiple times, so I actually took the extra time to fill out paperwork to utilize Mike and his guys instead, and pay the additional non-covered portion out of pocket. He's that awesome!

This was the best YELP find ever & I always use their reviews to find service providers for my home. I had called a large plumbing corporation for an estimate because my kitchen sink drain had sprung a leak in the basement over the Thanksgiving holiday. It took a few days for them to schedule an estimate & it was over $6000. After I recovered & decided that was impossible, I got on Yelp, found & called First Call. Mike called me back on Friday (he was on vacation) and told me to call Justin Sunday. I did & he came out Monday & gave me an estimate of $2100 for an even more extensive repair. With Carlos' help he did the repair in 2 hours for exactly that amount with a 3 year guarantee. I can't overstate what a pleasure it has been to work with everyone connected with this company .

Fantastic service by Mike and his crew member! Called them around 8:00 AM to set up an appointment for 12:00 PM. Mike text me about 20 minutes prior to noon and advised me he was already there. Just to clarify these men are saints!!!
So I just had to follow up on my previous review. Six years later the clean out had another problem. This is no reflection on them as I had a huge oak tree with tons of roots in my yard, I'm amazed we made it this far. So my tenants called a couple other plumbers and they came out snaked it, ran a camera and, cleaned the clean out and said that they wanted $3000 to replace the clean out. That's when they finally called me. I told them to send that plumbing company home and called first call plumbing. This time I got Dustin I believe he is the son of Mike I could be wrong. I called on a Saturday morning and he promised me he would be there Monday morning at 8 AM and that he would be a third of any other quotes I got over the weekend of the cost. The cost was so little I feel like I owe them.
These men are saints once again. If you are a single woman you have nothing to fear. They are honest good working people and they will take great care of you. It's really nice and heartwarming to see businesses that are still doing things just for the nature of doing the repair the right way for the right cost. Unlike other businesses that justify charging astronomical prices just because the common person doesn't know how to do their job. Oh the American way. I am so grateful for this business.

I could hear a hissing sound in my shower wall. I had a feeling it was a broken pipe in the wall. I called multiple plumbers to see if they could come out today but no one was able to accommodate me. First Call Plumbing was able to send someone within the hour. Mike went above board with excellent communication on Dustin's arrival time and also called after he left to be sure everything was okay. Dustin quickly determined it was not a broken pipe in my wall but a hose bib outside that was not completely closed. When he was leaving I asked how much I owed him and he said there was no charge. It is so refreshing to work with an honest company who is quick to respond and meet your needs. I am forever grateful and will continue to use them in the future.

Highly recommend! Mike and Carlos are amazing. After reading all the great reviews on here, I called Mike to map out where my sewer line is before having some palm trees removed, and to check the plumbing under my house that another plumber did to make sure everything was ok. They charged a very reasonable price and showed me on camera and outside exactly where my sewer line runs. And free of charge, Carlos went under the house and checked all the plumbing. He even brought up the large old pipes the previous plumber has left down there and hauled them away at no cost. I have found a new plumbing company for life!! I can't say enough praise about Mike and Carlos! They are friendly, on time, clean, honest and offer good prices.

Mike was able to fit a service call in between two appointments which was greatly appreciated. Before getting started he provided a detailed explanation of what they were going to do to clear the kitchen and laundry sewer line, and he carefully answered my uneducated questions about the drain lines. It was apparent that Carlos, who ran the snake through the roof vent, had done that job many times before. I wouldn't hesitate to have him work on our house again or recommend his plumbing service to others.

These guys are fast, efficient, and honest. They unclogged my sewer line and then ran a scope through it to show me the roots that remained. They offered a power jet service that would remove all the remaining roots and they warranty it for 2 years! When finished, they ran the scope once more to show me the clean pipes. My experience with Mike and Dustin at First Call Plumbing and Sewer Service was unmatched. Mike was very responsive and a great communicator. Simply fantastic! We had some tree roots make their way into one of our sewer lines causing it to back up. Mike and Carlos did a superb job in clearing out the blockage and making sure no other blockages were pleasant. They were super informative throughout the whole process, explaining as they went along and answering all of our questions. My 8 month old was fascinated by the SeeSnake and I'm fairly certain will search out a plumbing career in the future.

Last year I had a plumbing/root issue on a rental home I own in Oranegvale. After another company estimating thousands of dollars to saw cut the floor open and demo for further inspection and replacement of piping- I was referred to Mike by father and was very pleased! This morning we heard water running from inside our bathroom wall. I got on yelp and found 1st call in the top 10 rated on Yelp. Called around 6:50 am. They answered and got me an appointment with Dustin at 8:30. Dustin and his co-worker were on time. We remodeled our master about 6 months ago and they identified that during construction a baseboard nail had punctured the pipe in the bathroom. It just took a few months for it to rust and break, causing the leak. They were able to cut out a small bit a of the sheetrock, and replace the portion of the pipe. All done within a 2 hour timeframe. Really appreciate all their help, and would definitely use them again.

I had an issue with a blockage in a sewer line on one side of my duplex. Mike coordinated a time that worked with my schedule during normal business hours. He had performed my initial inspection when I had purchased the residence letting me know of a problem that would get worse in the future.

Two years later, after multiple calls to other plumbers, one call to Mike and he helped clean both sides of the unit, made sure to check for any other problems, performed his due diligence, and identified a root problem that was going to persist unless taken care of. He provided a very fair quote on the repair and services provided.

I couldn't have been happier with the service that I received!! He gave me a same day appointment, called an hour ahead to let me know he was on his way and kept me informed about my problem throughout the service call. He showed me what was going in via live video and patiently answered my questions. He cleared the part of the pipe that was my responsibility. In the process he discovered an offset that he suspected was the county's responsibility. He provided so much education that I was able to advocate for myself with the county. They accepted liability and will be fixing it in the next few days!!
Prior to his arrival, I was resentful of having to pay $150 that I didnt have to fix this unexpected problem. When he left, I was very excited that this big of a problem was resolved for only $150!! He could have easily ripped me off but he showed an integrity, genuine care and honesty that I don't take for granted. Your search is over, call him!

I'm always happy to leave a rave review for First Call Plumbing. I just had them out for the fourth time in two years - we bought a 60-year-old house, and there are lots of issues with the ancient plumbing system. This time it was a backed-up water line to our laundry area in the garage. Mike and Carlos came out within 24 hours of my call, and they were cheerful and laid back and friendly and informative. Our pipe configuration is so convoluted that Carlos had to get up on the roof to cable out the pipes through the air vent. The first cable was too big to squiggle through the maze of pipe, but their smaller cable did the trick - and oh man, the greasy gunk that came out the cleanout hole! Looked like I had struck crude oil. Mike explained that this was a sign that my old iron pipes are probably badly corroded, and I should think about someday having them replaced, and he quoted me an upper limit price estimate - with absolutely no pressure, he was truly just trying to give me an honest assessment of what's going in with my plumbing system. Then Mike went under the house to make sure nothing under there was leaking, and gave me a little tour of my pipe system down there. When he quoted the final price, I literally said, That's all? In short, Mike makes all of this look so easy - no one else has any excuse for not being this prompt, efficient, friendly, and reasonably-priced. Unless they just aren't as competent as Mike and his outfit.

I called yesterday and Dustin showed up sooner than expected to give a free estimate.Dustin is awesome and fixed my plumbing problem without going through major expense or changes to my 60 year old plumbing, in about 15 minutes, problem solved and wouldnt charge me for a house call.I called 2 other services and got the old song and dance about wanting to change out my plumbing lines etc.Dustin is a professional with great communication skills and demeanor.I leave reviews frequently and have given very few 5 star ratings in the last ten years.I would recommend them for any job.It is sometimes hard to find a service these days without having any issues and impeccable skills and one that wont attempt to bill you for work that is not necessary

First Call was very responsive to a recent sewer backup we were having at our home. Within 3 hours of the call, they were at our house, performed a visual camera inspection, did the required work at the cleanout to get the sewer line running again quickly and efficiently. I cannot say enough great things about Mike! I called him as a second opinion on a tree root being stuck in pipe for a property that I was in escrow with. He gave me invaluable information as well as went out to the property the SAME day I called to evaluate the situation in person to assure me that it was the only issue and gave a fair rate. He made an incredibly stressful situation so much easier for me. He will forsure always be my first call when I have any plumbing issues! I have never written a review before on Yelp but after using First Call plumbing twice now I really get I should as Mike (the owner) is amazing!

He is no where near the stereotypical plumber! He is on time, honest, smart and clean! Both times he was able to come over to my house within 30 minutes of me calling, even though the last time was on a Friday at like 5pm when he was heading home for dinner! I will be a customer for life!

Mike is a fantastic plumber. He was able to schedule a sewer cleanout one afternoon after he was finished with a city inspection. He kept in touch and let me know when he would be out. Of course my problem had its subsequent issues: house built before code required a sewer cleanout, and a too-small P-trap for a tub. He immediately analyzed each problem and quickly resolved it. Costs were fair for the work needed. Mike is at the top of my plumber call list. Carlos, his assistant, is also top notch.

Alert: Check out this company with the Better Business Bureau. I contacted First Call because of the great reviews. There had been a backup in a bathroom that was located in the garage. Three people came for the inspection, with one of them going under the house. They did not run a camera. After the inspection and after the three talked together, Mike quoted $15,000 to replace the sewer line. Then he said he didn't want the job because it was too labor intensive, but asked me if I would have paid the $15,000 if he had done the work. A camera inspection was done today by another company which found that the sewer looks pretty good except for some corrosion and that I might want to consider hydro-jetting. So how did First Call Plumbing determine that the sewer line needed to be replaced without a proper inspection? Also, why was I asked if I would have paid $15,000 had they done the job?

Mike and Carlos were GREAT! I was a little skeptical when I read the previous reviews indicating a 5 Star rating. However, now that I have actually used his service I can say that I totally agree. Mike was responsive and timely in his stated arrival times. I appreciate his timeliness because I have experienced times when contractors do not show up when they say they will. Mike and Carlos were here and usually started working a little ahead of his stated time. Mike getting the job done when stated was very important because we are expecting out of town company next week for Thanksgiving and the thought of sewer line problems while company was here as way too much anxiety. If we could put more stars we would.

I have been stressed out over a pipe line on my property because it seemed like an old line. Suddenly it became clear it was actually a clogged sewer drain. These guys came out that night cleaned the line fixed the the break and added a clean out access and did an award winning video. I truly can say these guys are #1 & 2! Ok, a pun, butt... Mike was awesome! He came the next day and kept in great communication the day of for his arrival time. The best part?!? HE SAVED US $150!!! He identified our problem & explained to us he thought the county was responsible AND he would call them and have them come out. Turned out he was right! The county came out post haste (an hour later) and fixed our sewer problem- NO CHARGE! Thank you Mike! You're knowledge & customer service was EXCEPTIONAL!
