If I could give them 6 stars I would. Paul, the owner, is one of a kind in how he operates his business. He's timely, responsive, orderly and that's hard to find. He employs some of the best in the business (wood craftsman, electricians and painters) and I can't thank them enough for their hard work on our movie room kitchenette. Check out the before and after photos - I highly recommend!

It was a pleasure to work with Element Construction! Paul was on time and there every step of the way to help me with my insurance claim and fixing the drywall and flooring damaged that had occured due to a leak in our laundry room. My insurance was giving me a hard time in paying for the repairs but Paul advocated for me and was on top of things until they covered all expense (minus our deductible). I'm so glad Paul helped us through the insurance claim process and was patient. The work done on our home was immaculate it looks as though nothing ever happened I highly recommend for any home reconstruction or remodel!

We had damage from a leaky pipe in our bathroom which required wall repairs & replacement of the flooring throughout our house. I contacted Paul, and from the first conversation, he was responsive and helpful.  Aaron was our project manager and couldn't have been nicer or more helpful.  With the holidays coming up and dealing with insurance, we weren't expecting to be  able to get everything done for a while, but they completed all the work within three weeks of our first contact  and we couldn't be happier. All of the workers were skilled, nice & accommodating. Our flooring looks beautiful and all the walls look great. We highly recommend Element!

I just had my master bathroom remodeled by Element Construction and Restoration.  I have to say, It was the first time I've ever had a project done with no stress, they were on time, they were clean.  The project was done perfectly.  My tile work was straight and even, but most important, I was notified when they were arriving, who was coming.  I can't say more about Paul and his Crew, Chris, Mike and Dave.   They were Awesome!!!

Having your house in the worst way from a flood is so stressful, but this restoration company ran things so smoothly in a timely manner, that getting everything done was stress free and a breeze!

I opened my garage door in the morning, but after a couple of hours working in the garage I couldn't close it down. I was guessing that maybe something with the signal or the motor is wrong as I didn't hear any noise from it. Paul sent out his craftsman the same day, though it was already afternoon hour and I'm glad that he didn't tell me to reinstall all the door with the motor, that what I was expecting to hear actually, but instead he genuinely confirmed that just the motor must be fixed. Moreover, he managed to fix it on the spot-he fixed some wiring and checked that every part is working accordingly. I was pleasantly surprised and will recommend Paul's company to friends as I believe that I called the right man in my situation .

I was very lucky to have met Paul under an unfortunate event.
Due to the mold issue caused by water damage from my upper unit neighbor, I was in need of a bathroom and walk-in closet remodel. The insurance company completed the estimate quickly and provided me a claim payout then I moved on to meeting different contractors for quotes.
After meeting with six to seven contractors with quotes ranging from $11,000 to $22,000, I quickly realized that the insurance payout is 50% less than the mid-range quote. Even though this is my very first remodel I know that the insurance payout is not going to able to pay for my bathroom remodel back to a comparable setup. I did not know what to do.
After listening to my situation on insurance payout one of the contractors suggested me to talk to Paul. The contractor knows that Paul is very knowledgeable and very good with the Xactimate software.  On top of that Paul is a contractor himself so whatever the insurance adjuster miss on the estimate Paul will definitely be included in his estimate.  He told me the Xactimate software is widely used among insurance adjusters and contractors so it will be an easy comparison between the insurance estimate and the actual project cost.  This would help me greatly to get a fair payout from the insurance  
I decided to acquire Paul's services and Paul called me on Monday morning after receiving my contact info the previous Saturday afternoon.  We set up an appointment for Tuesday morning for him to access needed repair. My first impress of Paul was that he is very professional and very efficient. He is also very detail oriented, friendly and patience.  He told me that understands how difficult it to be out of your own home, which is why he wants to help and have me back to my home as soon as possible. He emailed me a 37 pages Repair Estimate the very next day and had already emailed it to my insurance adjuster.  removal).
He also did follow up call with my insurance adjuster as the adjuster is busy and hard to reach. After the communication between my insurance adjuster and Paul, my insurance adjuster sent me another check that was about 28% of the original payout. I finally was able to start my remodeling project and once the project is done I will be able to move back home.
It was totally well worth it for me to acquire Paul's services. I highly recommend anyone that is not getting a fair payout from their insurance company to acquire Paul's services.

I have to say from the first moment Paul stepped foot into my place he was nothing but professional. We had just experienced flooding in my place which ruined our bathroom and part of our kitchen ceiling and my insurance company was trying to underpay and undercut the amount of work that truly needed to be done. Paul stepped in once I agreed to his company doing the work and he went to work dealing with my insurance company to get them to agree to pay for what really needed to be done to repair our home. He was always so quick to respond when I had any questions and even when I was confused by what the estimate said he was quick to explain and make it easier for me to understand. He was also very flexible with us as we were figuring out what we wanted in our bathroom and then had to wait on our vanity to be shipped. Also they came across a termite infestation under our toilet area and were quick to notify me so we could remedy it and let them get back to work quickly to finish the project. I have to say I am extremely happy with the quality of the work and how easy it was to work with Paul and his crew. I definitely would recommend them to anyone and look forward to using them for any future projects we have.

I rarely write reviews, typically only when something goes really bad or when I receive exceptional service. Happily it is the latter with regards to Paul Courtwright and Element Construction. Paul completed our project on time and on budget which was a challenge. He was the only person that I contacted willing to contractually obligate himself to the timeline we had to work with. Paul is very intelligent, polite, fair, patient and an extremely effective communicator. He kept in contact with me almost daily and was obviously on top of the project, stopping by on a regular basis to check on progress or when changes were necessary. His crews led by Oscar and David were always on time, a pleasure to deal with and asked questions instead of making assumptions - something that kept everything on schedule and avoided potential heartaches. I highly recommend without any hesitation Paul and his company - he exceeded our expectations and that is hard to do!

We first were going to go with another contractor to do the restoration of our kitchen after a leak, but the 1st contractor was very pushy, we felt like he was taking advantage of our insurance $, and my husband and I did not feel comfortable leaving him in our home to do the repairs.

We found Paul through Yelp and went ahead and contacted him, he got back to me quick, we set up a time for him to come to the home for the inspection/quote and he was on time (the 1st contractor was not), that same day he provided the quote and then within 1-2 days after we signed the contract, he provided us the documentation needed for us to submit to our insurance. After the work was done by Paul's team, he came for a final walk through to make sure everything was good and if we had any questions.

My husband and I were left with our kitchen looking good as new and they made sure my dishwasher worked after having no dishwasher for almost 2 months! I would definitely recommend Paul and his team for any resconstruction on your home!

Paul was the perfect contractor for us. We were needing some renovation on a newly purchased 2nd home in San Diego. We received quotes from 3 different contractors. One came considerably higher than Paul and one was slightly lower. We chose Paul because we liked him personally and his confidence in our project. We have done several renovations in the past and they have always been twice the cost and twice the time quoted. Not with Paul. He began the job immediately, stayed on the timeline and finalized with the original price quoted. Additionally, he was quick to respond to our texts and sent us numerous pictures and updates of our transforming home as we were out of town. The neighbors reported that the workers were all courteous and respectful. There is no doubt who we will used for any future projects.

Our kitchen had a leak that caused a lot of damage. We decided to upgrade our kitchen since we had to have a portion of it gutted anyway and had been meaning to revamp it at some point. Paul was easy to communicate with. We tried to go through insurance, but they refused to pay because it was a slow leak (apparently slow leaks are not often covered by insurance companies because they are probably common). The insurance agent informed me that they had worked with Paul before and that he is good. So, we opted to work with him. Every step he let us know what was going to be done. His workers wore masks during the entire time and kept things as tidy as possible. The painter Paul uses is an artist and he is passionate about making it look good. All of the work was completed in the promised time frame. His price was pretty spot on according to what the agent predicted as well. We are so happy with our kitchen that we probably will do a master bathroom remodel eventually when we get there.

Element Construction and Restoration helped us restore our kitchen after we had some water damage. Paul and Aaron were extremely helpful throughout the process - they were very friendly and answered all of our (many) questions. Element Construction and Restoration repaired my bathroom after a slow toilet leak of 1.5 years. Dealing with Paul and his employees were by far beyond my wildest dreams. Paul is amazing to work with. He does exactly what he says he is going to do, from showing up on time, to giving you an estimate, to completing the job. Paul was there every step of the way from the beginning to the end, he made sure the job was done right. I've never had anyone in the construction industry be as honest and upfront as Paul is. He helped me with the insurance company and making sure they paid me for the true damage I incurred. I didn't pay a dime out of pocket and it was all because of Paul and his expertise in the field. I asked Paul about why he started his own company and he said it was because he was tired of the BS in the construction industry. If you are looking to work with a detail oriented contractor (with both the finished work product and the paperwork) look no further than Paul and Element Construction. I am looking to have more work done at may house and I won't hesitate to call Element. And he will definitely be my first call in an emergency. I hope Element grows and flourishes. I'd like to see someone of Paul's integrity and character succeed in an industry that doesn't always value those traits.

I can't recommend Element Construction & Restoration high enough! I contacted Paul (the owner) to get a quote to replace the floor and all surrounding fixtures in my bathroom based on a recommendation from my realtor.  He responded immediately with a quote which included a very detailed breakdown of the scope of work as well as some additional questions to ensure everything was addressed.  The quote I received was extremely reasonable and he stayed on budget  throughout the entire project.  Paul came out to personally inspect the bathroom and help me create a plan for the remodel--he was very helpful and responsive and was able to guide me through the correct flooring and other materials to select for the job.  Oscar and Carlos performed a majority of the work and both were punctual and professional the entire time.  We hit a snag which required a plumber be sent out, but thankfully Paul coordinated with Rome to come out and replace the flange for my toilet that same day at a very reasonable price (well below what I would have paid if I had to coordinate the plumber myself) so the project was able to be completed on schedule.  At the end of the day, the work that they did was excellent and I am in love with my now-completed bathroom.  I highly recommend Paul and his team at Element for whatever your construction/restoration needs may be!  This was the most stress-free encounter I've ever had with a remodel (needless to say remodels are never stress-free...), which was the cherry on top of the great work that was done.

PAUL AND ELEMENT CONSTRUCTION ARE AMAZING!

We unfortunately experienced a pretty major pipe leak not even 2 months after moving into our first home and we wound up having to tear out our entire kitchen. Floors, dry wall, cabinets, appliances, all of it. After the initial phase of panic and confusion, we started looking for contractors to help us get everything put back together.

I found Element Construction and reached out and the owner Paul got back to me super quick and said he could meet me at my home the very next day to take a look. He was very knowledgeable and even explained the insurance side of things, which is always the most confusing and difficult to deal with. He took some photos the same day and sent over an estimate within 24 hours. He said he could get us on his work schedule the very next week which was great considering the only other contractor I heard back from couldn't schedule us for at least 2 months.

From day 1 of beginning work he kept us informed of the rebuild process and worked with the insurance company on our behalf. Even when insurance came back with a super low amount for what they would cover (which would have left us in a very tough spot financially) he reassured us and went back to our insurance to let them know that their payment was insufficient and they had left a lot of items off of their list. His whole team was great and treated both my wife and I very well and answered any and all questions we had. Considering how crappy the overall situation was, there really is not a better contractor we could have gone with to help turn our construction zone back into our home.

Paul and his crew did a 5 star job for me converting a window into an exterior door, adding a ceiling fan and lighting, an interior door, and a gate for my outside fence. He offered me different options before writing up the contract. All was as expected. They showed up on time, cleaned up each day and all work was agreed in writing with no surprise charges. And the work is top notch. Will definitely use them again and highly recommend.

Paul, the owner showed up ready to make my vision happen.  I was put off by a few other contractors who wanted to come in and tell me what they were going to do, I wanted to be heard and I found the right company in Element Construction!  Having never dealt with water damage and all that it entails, I was grateful for Paul's experience and how he dealt with my insurance company.  He wrote a detailed report refuting the initial adjusters estimate of damage to the point that they more than doubled the cost they were initially going to pay out.  

Paul provided me with vendors so I was not confined to what Home Depot or Lowes had to offer, he gave me a starting point on how much I could spend (insurance money) before we went into out of pocket.  He worked hard to make my dream come true and was very transparent to additional costs when I chose to upgrade.  All in all I would say that after the initial shock of having to deal with two bathroom remodels, this has been a very positive experience.  I would gladly recommend Paul and his team for any work you might be looking at in your home.

After some mold remediation was done, we were left with part of our wall missing drywall and insulation around a window. We were on a very tight timeline, and Paul was able to accommodate us, even when we had to reschedule to wait for a mold clearance test! He knew we had to get it done quickly and prioritized us, coming out early in the morning as soon as we had our clearance results. He helped make sure everything was ready to go and all materials were there, and left it to Nick who did the repair. The end result was fantastic, Nick matched the rounded corners and texture of the surrounding area perfectly, and you would never know it was damaged. Best of all, it was completed start to finish in a single day! We needed it done quickly and Paul and his team were able to do it without cutting any corners. We would highly recommend ECR!

Dealing with water damage in the middle of a pandemic was nothing my husband and I had planned. We were lucky and grateful enough to meet Paul and Element Construction. I Wanted to share my experience with Mr. Paul Courtwright and his company: Element Construction and Restoration.  When I found a house with great bones in the Carlsbad area - I started looking for a contractor that could help take my ideas and create finished living spaces.  Meeting with Paul -  he came across as honest, smart, with a good sense of humor - qualities I find very important in the construction/remodel world!  Those qualities stayed true during all the time I have worked with him. I wanted high quality work and explained my ideas and budget to Paul,  and that I was ready to start as soon as possible.    Paul solved some challenging technical problems and hired strong and dependable craftsmen /women to complete the work.  I have a beautifully updated kitchen, two full bath suites with electrical, plumbing and lighting updates as well.   Paul put up with my errors in the process and was patient and good-humored throughout the planning, permitting and build-out.  I had a great experience with Element and will continue to hire Paul and his company as needs arise.  Element Construction and Restoration receives my highest recommendation.  Give them a call!

We had damage from a water heater leak. Paul's people were onsite immediately and did great work in an impressive amount of time. Paul also helped us navigate the way through our first ever insurance claim. Superior service at the right price. We appreciate everything they did for us.

Our kitchen flooded about 3 weeks prior to Thanksgiving 2021; with contractors and supply chain issues rampant, we were told by our insurance company not to expect a repair until after Christmas. We met with a couple contractors and heard same. Fortunately we found Paul and his team! Not only we're they competitive with their bid, they were able to get the project done prior to Thanksgiving! And, on top of that, Paul was amazingly responsive to our questions and patient with our requests. Paul's cabinet guys, Ned and Dan, were clearly experts, and painstakingly rebuilt or cabinets under the existing countertops (saving $$!).  His demo and repair guys, Oscar and Carlos, were thorough and professional. I would highly recommend Paul and his team; and if/when we're ready for our next project we will be reaching out.

We recently moved into our brand new home from the South Bay and had some improvements that way more pleasant to living in it. It has been the best experience I've had working with a contractor in terms of timing and meeting our expectations. Paul, the owner, is courteous, timely, and gets things done! He was super mindful of what we wanted especially after we changed the scope of the work more than we planned on, gave us thorough explanations and details of what is needed to accomplish our goals. Sometimes when things don't go as planned it can stress you out but his calm experienced guidance solved the problem w ease. His subs also worked out well as he managed to keep us in the loop of what to expect from them and when. This Covid has affected many manufacturers especially cabinets which were back ordered w no ETA to rely on when I tried to go through Ikea to save costs. The estimate he gave me was reflected in the final bill aside from the add-on tasks we requested while the work was being done. We will definitely call him when we are ready to go into the next phase of our dream home revision!

So far very good, best follow up, was able to get the job started very quickly, came under my budget for my project.  I may follow up on this review however once the job has been completed.

When we had our bathroom leak Paul was one of my first calls.  He was super calm and helpful and guided me in the right direction for next steps. Half of my 4 year old wooden fence fell over during the last rain/windstorm! I didn't know where to turn, so I immediately came here onto Yelp and sent a request out to some well-rated companies. Paul at Element responded within the hour! I sent a few photos and was most concerned with a realistic price estimate. He had someone come out the next morning and it was done as soon as the rain lifted. His quote was spot on, his team was punctual, professional and I would recommend him! We will use Element for any future projects.

Unfortunately our home endured some pretty heavy water damage.  I am always apprehensive when selecting a service provider when the problem is an emergency.  Paul was recommended to me by a trusted friend.  Long story short - his team came in and fixed everything as requested and also on time.  The work speaks for itself.  Paul's communication was on point throughout the process.  He is a real person - not a salesman.  Highly recommend not having a flooded house.... I recently had some water damage in my home that had just been remediated and dried out. I had a big hole in my ceiling and drywall's and flooring removed and exposed. I needed someone to help repair the damage. I called Paul and he was polite and very professional and he was sympathetic to my situation. He was able to stop by the next day to inspect the damage and I later received an estimated quote from him later that day. For the inspection, he called before arriving and showed up on time per our agreed appointment. He had his face mask on when we met and he wore shoe covers when he came into my home. He took the time to explain the scope of work to me during the inspection and he throughly answers any question or concerns I had about the process. He also mentioned that they were able to work with my home insurance company and provide any documentation or info they would would need for any insurance claims. After receiving this quote, and comparing with others, I felt his estimate was fair so we hired him. His team were able to start work on my home the same week (Friday) it took them 3 business days to complete the job. My home looks as good as it originally did. His staff was also professional, they covered up when they came to my home and they didn't leave any mess behind when they left. Over all I'm very happy with my service from Paul's company Element construction and I gladly recommend them.

Paul is a class A professional. He is polite, concise, informative, communicative, knows his trade,, and does exactly what he says he will do. I interviewed 7 potential businrsses for the job and Element/Paul's estimate and interview and professionalism made it obvious who I wanted to hire. And, I wasn't disappointed. Hands down, he was the right choice.  He is was confident in working with my insurance contractor any, too, and got everything he asked for that I needed. And more. Really we came out with a head in the end. And he answered all my stupid questions and did not make me feel less then. He took my calls at all kinds of different hours and responded immediately. This is the way to go if you have water damage or want to do remodeling this is a company for you. He's a very decent human being and he runs a very stellar business.
