Enjoying work as an electrician, John decided to start his own company and had the perfect name: Direct Electric Company. His efforts to build a reputable electrical contracting business, he worked diligently to provide customer service of the highest standard. Additionally, having come upon a revolutionary Sustainable/Green product, the QuietCool whole house fan system, we have become the largest installer of these systems and strongly feel that each home/family should have the ability to cool their home naturally without the use of expensive Air Conditioning :) 3 kids (all boys) later this family-owned business hopes to be around for years to come, providing excellent service to Southern California customers!

My name is John, I am a licensed and insured electrical contractor. I started this business wanting to create the best electrical company around, provide the best services available at the cleanest and best prices around. I started the company officially in 2006, I started working on my own in 2002 while I was studying, raising my first son. I worked for a large new construction and production track home wiring company. I am very familiar with homes, how to get wiring through a home, all NEC wiring and electrical codes. Truly my passion and my comfort zone. We have grown the company from 1 truck, now having 6 service trucks on the road and maintaining approx 14 employees with Direct Electric Company. I was skeptical about installing this wholehouse fan, but John educated/ convinced me well enough for me to take action. Although it took me a year to actually get it done, I am more than pleased with his flexibility, professionalism, money saving cooling solution, and quality that was delivered with this installation. Only drawback is why I did not do this sooner. Workers are polite, cooperative, efficient, and professional too. I recommend for those still standing on the fences baking under the socal sun. They responded right away, David came by next day. Super professional explained everything that is needs to be done and why. Didn't charge for the estimate and explained the costs and everything. We didn't continue with the proyect because it was way more that we anticipated to invest in our kitchen.

This is the second time we have used Direct electric. The first time was to change out a socket that caught fire and a light dimmer switch. This time we used this company to change out our old can lights in our kitchen to nice flush LED lights. When I tell you this company is a smooth running well oiled machine it is!!!! From the time you call to the time your electrician finishes your job you will not be disappointed!!!! Each job was done as promised and they were very clean and professional. If we have anymore electrical issues we will call them no doubt.

They were courteous on time and did a good job. They installed three fans one we relocated to a new position on the ceiling which required wiring and the installation of a new switch/dimmer. So happy with the service done on 2 ceiling fans. The techs were very knowledgeable, kind, polite, respectful and they made sure we were happy with the service. I'll be reaching out for a couple estimates on lighting for our kitchen and dining. Our fans were already prewired so it made the job quicker. We were sent a text when the tech was in route and sent emails with a receipt for service.

Last week I had them install a whole house fan. The two technicians showed up right on time - gave me about 45 minutes heads up when they were due to arrive on schedule. The installation took about an hour, the men who showed up to install were professional, courteous, and tidy. The install looked super appropriate too.
Now for the whole house fan - dang it I wish I had this installed 10 years ago. It really refreshes the air in the house fast, the sound is like a grey noise that will be easy to sleep through. We are going to have some warm weather later this week and I cant wait to try it out to see how fast it will cool down the house.
Update: FYI, I never received the detailed quote he spoke of. Further, I was not asked to flip circuit breaker off, then back on.
So the 1 minute he took to do that, he wanted the full service fee. Absolutely illogical & uncaring. I would NEVER treat anyone like that. Bad business practice. Again, I can't recommend this business at all.
Requested they update 2 of 4 lights in kitchen ceiling from the plug-in type to the screw-in type (the other 2 were already the screw-in type), as one of the plug-ins started flickering. Jose brought 2 led's with combined built-in lights and trims (outside cans), as he said they don't install the screw-in type anymore. Although the new lights looked a little different than the other 2, I reluctantly said okay. He had difficulty making them stay up there - hanging down a little, after adding screws to the inside of the housing. After he got done, i noticed that the new ones appeared smaller and brighter than the other 2. He said that if I was not happy, he would come back and change out the housings so the lights would be flush with the ceiling, but would cost an additional $80 per light. I paid $295, and he left. I called and said i was very unhappy. The owner, John, called, and then David called and said he would try to fix by converting them back to the screw-in type. But, he could not find my style trims, as Jose had disposed of them. So, David replaced all 4 lights with the new style led's, using the proper clips to hold them in place. Looks fine now. He charged me an extra $70 for the additional 2 lights. I would have rated them 5 stars if they had done the job correct from the beginning, and would have rated them 1 star if someone had not come out to fix it right.

DEC are true professionals. They are very responsive and take pride in their work. They came out and installed several fans, lights, as well as added several outlets. I know who to call when I have any electrical issues

A few weeks ago me and my wife decided we wanted to do quite a bit of electrical work to the house ( 6 fans, 2 chandeliers, 6 outdoor lights, new Master bedroom lights, and some other misc stuff) by luck we called direct electric and they sent Jordan out the very same day to take a look and get us a quote.... the quote seemed more then fair. And the company didn't pressure us to commitment to them for the work. I spoke with the company a few more times before locking them in for the work and I am sure glad I did.... on time, respectfully, and very knowledgeable. These guys are awesome. I contacted them on a Sunday to install a 50 amp EV charger at my home. They responded within the hour and scheduled a team to come out the next day to do the install. The guys showed up right on time and we're super friendly. They knocked out the install in under an hour and talked me through the EV charging process. I would recommend Direct Electric to anyone.
UPDATE.
DEC must have had a bad day per my initial 1-star review, especially for a new customer without any prior track record for their work and especially given that I contracted the electrical inspection remotely. DEC refunded the cost of the first day's inspection as it hadn't addressed any of the concerns from the general inspector--and I thought we were being ghosted by management which left me feeling...irked. This was my state of mind when I wrote the initial review. Admittedly, I was not a happy camper.
Today DEC sent out one of their senior electricians, Anthony, who inspected the house again with a full breakdown of the items checked. He also found some things the inspector didn't comment on, which leads me to believe the work was done more thoroughly this time and with proper due-diligence.
While I haven't been able to directly speak with anyone who was on site yet (still not a fan of that)--I feel better seeing a more comprehensive check of the property and specifically the breaker panel. Everything appears to be fine per the email breakdown.
Suggestion; separate job notes from job terms because a lot of people skip job terms stuff after reading it the first time. Also, put notes before job terms in the form, not just as an afterthought in same section. Maybe expand this a bit with more words that address specific concerns. The only reason I called for an electric inspection is because of the general inspector's notes to check certain things.
I also recommend an online report form made available on job close (to customers), or hosting site for reports after inspections with full DEC branding or letterhead--even if everything is A-OK. This is in contrast to an email that has less weight when it comes to assurances. This would show what was checked and results from those checks, including any notable problem areas which may need or not need repair.
E.g., X inspector said this breaker is warm to touch and shouldn't be.
Report from DEC should verify and mention that it's warm but normal for a 200A panel, or normal for the load on a 60A circuit. In other words, weigh in as experts and assuage those concerns directly.
Home sellers and buyers can really benefit from written reports (given the legal and disclosure ramifications) and it protects everyone involved. This is what inspectors do so perhaps it's a good idea for DEC as well. Plus, it's much more professional than a verbal second-hand report from a non-expert that cannot be questioned about specifics.
In other words, give us access to the electricians directly so they're not so isolated/insulated from customers and their follow-up questions...especially for people ordering inspections remotely like me. There's also a human element here where one can ask pointed questions and really feel at ease that the issue in question was checked.
The other issue is that one cell phone seems to be in use by 3+ people. Lisa, Anthony, some other guy, etc. It's extremely confusing, especially when people are slow to respond back or don't give their names. This could be better. At least each DEC employee has their own email so that's good.
Thanks DEC for addressing this and for your due diligence to make it right. I respect the follow-through.

We had a very positive experience with DEC. They installed a Quiet Cool in our home several years ago and we love it. It's reduced our reliance on AC and we appreciate the fresh air. We recently purchased a Quiet Cool unit for our son and his family. He was a skeptic but no more! Our grandsons especially appreciate it on summer nights I even put on a blanket! DEC is communicative, responsive and highly professional. Very easy to work with.
Had a great experience with every interaction when seeking information, ordering, scheduling, and installing our QuietCool fan this past week. We were especially pleased with Rick's knowledge of the product (and not trying to UPSELL us) and the service provided by Mike and Austin, who showed up to our installation appointment AHEAD of schedule, wearing masks, and who were very collaborative (and patient) with us as we determined where it should be positioned.
Clean work, efficient, polite, and punctual. AND, they laid down protective sheeting throughout the area in which they were working, leaving no trace of their being there other than the AMAZING QuietCool, which we LOVE!!!

Anthony & Aydan came out and installed my transfer switch. Done under 4 hours. Now I can attach my portable generator if power goes out for a significant amount of time. Called this company on Wednesday due to their great reviews. Was told that someone would get back to us and no one ever did. Called again Thursday was told the same thing and again no call back. Tried one more time this morning (Friday) and was finally told that they were too busy to take on a small job? How would they even know how big the job would be if they never returned any of our calls and why weren't we told this on Wednesday? Our A/C has been out since Wednesday due to an electrical issue, we have pets and the heat wave starts next week. How do you not have the common courtesy from the beginning to say NO we don't care about your issue we have bigger contracts and we aren't willing to even talk to you? I should have tried reaching out via Yelp since they seem to care about their reputation. This is my first bad review ever given to a company. Usually I write it off as maybe they were having a bad day, but this warranted this review. If you are a homeowner and need someone reliable to help you don't call them, they aren't going to help you but will keep you stringing along for a few days before they tell you No. Horrible business practice when it comes to Customer Service. They deserve a zero bit that's not an option which is why they got the 1 star.
Well finally received a response 5 minutes after the review apologizing because they are overwhelmed? I understand they are busy but how about letting your customer know that the first time they call? No Excuse for giving extremely poor customer service.

Direct Electric Company has an ad in the mail for a quiet cool system and I decided to give them a call because a local company in Murrieta was not able to fix my AC and charged me $200. The problem is the heat upstairs in the evening. I had a DIY fan that worked well but it was letting in a lot of heat into the house. I had doubts about the quiet cool system because I thought it wouldn't be powerful enough but it seems to work as well, if not better than my old system. It has three controls for speed since I got in upgrade to a higher end system. The highest level is loud but the other levels aren't too bad! Please send me a direct message if you want a referral code! I'd be glad to help anybody out! I had a lot of doubts about this system but I'm glad I got it! No much better than turning on the AC at night. If it's cool outside it works well!
Expensive! I contacted Direct Electric Company for an estimate to come out an look at my electric panel. They wanted $225 just to come out and take a look. I asked if I had them do the repairs if this cost would go towards any repairs that would be needed. The answer was, No. I would be charged by the hour and for any parts. I couldn't believe that they would not come out and at least look at my panel for free and then give me an estimate. I refuse to pay $225 to have an estimate when there are so many other companies out there that will do it for free. I'm very disappointed.
I called these guys to get a estimate on some work for my home. I was told the contact person was in a meeting and would call me back. Three days later still haven't received a call. It's terrible when you have money to pay for services and can't get anyone to take it. I can't rate this company on the work because I never got the opportunity to have them do anything for me. Oh well, guess I will find someone else to do the work for me.

My solar contractor wanted to charge me an absurd amount to upgrade my main panel unit. Direct Electric was able to perform the job at a significantly lower price and their work was perfect and passed inspection. I would recommend to anyone who needs electrical work.

Honest team from the front office to the electrician. Couldn't of gotten better service. We hired them for two jobs. One was to do some minor electrical repairs needed from the previous owner DIY projects. The second was upgrading our electrical panel from a 125 W system to a 200 W. They handled coordinating with the city, permitting and so on. Received lots of updates from them which let me know they were on top of things. Great job.

I contacted Direct Elect through a google search. I can't express how impressed I was just speaking to Rick on the phone. We set a date for inspection and install at my convenience only days later. Tommy and Aden we very prompt and on time and couldn't have been 2 nicer guys! Very professional and efficient and in less than 1 hour had a Quiet Cool whole house system installed and working. These guys are GREAT!!

The work was done so professionally and with care. The work was done on time and they were flexible with the changes I made during the installation. I would highly recommend Direct Electric and will use them again in the future.
We were having problems with outlets not working in the kitchen and a breaker of a bedroom that kept tripping. Direct Electric sent out an electrician named Anthony and his apprentice. They were both professional, friendly, and efficient in their work. The company sent out a text alert for when the electrician was en route and arrived on time. They diagnosed the problem and made sure to answer any questions I had thoroughly. They had the part that needed to be replaced in stock in their truck and made sure to test everything was in working order after the new part was installed. I appreciate that it was easy to communicate and schedule with this company. They are transparent about costs for the job and provide an email copy of the quote before scheduling. It's also great that there is a 1 year warranty on the work that they did for us. Will continue to hire them in the future for any electrical issues that may arise.
David and Jered came to our house to install a new chandelier and a new ceiling fan downstairs. They were both very easy to communicate with and were able to trouble shoot any problems they ran into while doing the install. They kept the work area clean and were extremely professional. I am very glad we did business with Direct Electric for the purchase and installation of our Quiet Cool Attic Fan.
I got a couple of prices and found DEC to be the best price by about $150.00 on the model I got. Additionally, their estimated installation time was about half the time required by the competition. In talking to them in the process, I found them to be the most knowledgeable about the various products and models (which I had researched online - so I knew when a company was accurate or not).
It was a week before they had an open appointment which was not as good as some of the competition but I was not in that much of a rush so it worked for me. They gave me a two hour window for arrival and arrived in the earlier part of that window which was nice and seems to be unusual these days.
The installation crew was courteous, professional, knowledgeable and helpful. They verified a good location and made sure the ventilation of my attic was sufficient for the requirements of our model. They were careful to keep our home clean in the process and were in and out in the time frame promised. From arrival to departure, the whole process took about 90 minutes.
I am very pleased with the end result and the whole process could not have gone smoother.
I had them hang a stairwell light. Workers showed up on time and did an excellent job. Workers were uniformed and polite. Work was done quickly and cleanly. All at a reasonable price.

I was referred to Direct Electric Company by Home Depot through their pro referral program. I needed to replace the electrical panel cover on the outside of our house, which was very difficult to find. John got back to me very quickly and I was able to send him some pictures of what we needed. He said that they keep all the old parts from old jobs just for this very reason, and after some digging around was able to find 6 covers that I could take my pick from. Very happy with my experience here, very nice people.

What an amazing and professional company to work with. I requested a quiet-cool house fan to be installed at my house and they scheduled me in within three days. After reviewing different options they came to my house on time and the installation took about an hour. This is one of the best vendors that you can get to install your quiet-cool fans. We had John do our project to add a plug for our RV, consolidate breakers and clean up our panel and it came out very clean. He gave us a quote quickly and the job was done a few days later. Professional, attentive and prompt. We would use them again.
Tony came and installed fan in bedroom with only a light fixture. He also put remote on master bedroom fan. He was quick efficient and personable
Don't waste your time! Called for an estimate, Jordan came out and met with me. Never received the estimate. Called the office and texted John the owner numerous times. Received nothing but excuses and more empty promises. Poor communication and poor customer service.
I won't waste any more time on this review just don't call this company or you will get the same bad service.
John and his team helped my seller diagnose a defective quiet cool switch that failed that day before we close escrow and on the buyers final inspection. John and his team recommended the quiet cool switch and it fixed the problem... Great Job!!!
They put in my cool air whole house fan today. They were very respectful, completed the job quickly and quietly, cleaned up after themselves, and explained how to use the new system. I would definitely recommend this company.
We added another exterior wall light on the garage. Tony and Jarred were on time, professional, courteous, and very meticulous in the work. My wife and I are very happy with the look and work of these two gentlemen.

I have to commend DEC for having 2 of the most professional technicians working for them.
When I called to get an initial quote I was very happy with the relational approach of their salesman. I accepted the quote, scheduled an install and waited a week. The two men came hours early without notification but that was ok as we happened to be home. They were very friendly and immediately began evaluation only to determine that the Stealth 6 would be too big for the space and I might need two smaller units. They indicated I'd be called with new estimates. I said we might not be able to do it if it costs more but ok. That was over two weeks ago. Very disappointing to never get a call of any sort to at least bring closure if nothing else. But to just be dropped is rude and apparently says that, as the #1 QC dealer, they didn't need or want my business. In the mean time it's hot now and a company we thought would help just dropped us. Unbelievable, but I wanted to at least others know how we felt and how let down we are.
Update: I received a call from DE to apologize for dropping the ball. They immediately began to discuss options for my home. I believe in second chances and know that mistakes do happen. They came within two days to install our new systems. After over two weeks we have determined that the systems work great BUT I would like to have been told that the new recommended systems would only be two speeds vs three, which is what I really wanted and said so in my initial call. We have a remote that indicates three speeds but the fans are apparently only two speeds, which I didn't know when I agreed to the changes. Upon completion, which they did a great job, I wished they had spent time instructing us the best ways to maximize use of the fans. As it is, it took a week to figure out we didn't have three speed fans and that's why the remote didn't work. We are also still trying to determine the best ways to maximize cooling (how many windows to open and how wide). Overall we are pleased with the install, displeased that we only got two speeds, and learning to maximize the QC effectiveness

Ok so if I am going to spend over a $1000 I want it to be one where I feel like I got my money's worth. This was definitely one where there was no buyer's remorse afterwards.
For starters Rick was super helpful with the entire process of me actually picking to get the work (quiet cool fans installed). He provided me with a quote and even reviewed the other quotes I received. We talked about the formula used to pick the right size fan and all kinds of stuff that I asked about. In addition to that, he was even responding to my emails after hours, I think I got a reply one night around 9 pm (I assumed I'd hear from him the next day).
On the date of the install, Sonny and Josh R we very engaging and professional. They explained the process and what I could expect for the installation and all. It was also nice that I was asked if it was okay if they came in and out a few times while they brought in the fans and all that after their initial review of the attic and all. The whole process was quick and I like how it looks in my roof. I'd recommend them to install one for any one I know.
We were referred by a family member that used to work for Direct Electric. The service from start to finish was beyond excellent. They were on time explained everything they were going to do and were very quick. We love our Quiet Cool and have even referred a friend and they have already scheduled their appointment to have one installed as well.

DEC installed 3 Quiet Cool fans in my home about 4-5 years ago. They did a great job. They showed up on time, were professional and tidy.
One fan was a tad noisy so I called and they came back out with no problem.

I had my fan installed over a month ago, but wanted to wait a few before posting to make sure my post was accurate. From the beginning the owner was on top of it. He didnt try to up sell anything, which is huge in my eyes. He was very thorough in explaining what to expect. I am so pleased with my fan. Some nights I am finding myself reaching for a blanket. From start to finish, this has been the best home upgrade experience we've had since buying our new home. Everything was patiently explained to us by a friendly, knowledgeable, experienced professional. Then, the installers raised the experience to an even higher level. They were friendly to my toddlers, who would not stay out of their way. They remained patient throughout the entire process. They installed exactly where I wanted it after offering me options. This is the only Electrical Company that even responded to my telephone calls. They sent their technician, Joshua, out the next day. It took Joshua only 15 minutes to identify the problem and fix it. I can't say enough about their service and knowledge.
This company is top-notch all the way! I reached out to them a couple of years ago when my wife and I were first considering a whole-house fan. I researched extensively online various companies that sold and installed whole-house fans and Direct Electric Co. was always at the top of the list. I spoke with Rick over the course of a few days, asking numerous questions, and never felt like I was being sold to, or hurried in any way. Ultimately, the timing wasn't right for us to make the purchase.
Fast forward a couple of years. I hadn't forgot about my interaction with Rick and knew without a doubt that when we were ready to make our purchase we were going to go with Direct Electric Co., and I'm so glad we did. The technicians arrived on time, were extremely personable, polite, and above all professional throughout the entire installation process. When they were finished, they throughly cleaned up and took the time to explain in detail the operation of the fan unit.

I was looking to have a Quiet Cool whole house fan installed and did some comparison shopping on price. Another company came in a little lower, but was obviously irritated that I was price shopping. The customer service from Rick at DEC was great and he was able to match the competitor's price. He was also able to get my installation booked in less than a week.
Sean and Calvin were the installers and arrived on time and were courteous and professional. After installation, Sean realized was a problem with the fan, which was unable to run on high. After troubleshooting, Sean made several phone calls and received information directly from the manufacturer to pinpoint the issue, which was that the microprocessor on the fan had become damaged during shipping, apparently a known issue by the manufacturer.
Sean spoke with his company and they were able to get a new replacement unit installed for me the very next morning. All is working now and the fan is working great. I will consider DEC again for future electrical needs.
Must Recommend DEC for your Electric contracting jobs. Had a QC whole house fan installed along with some outdoor garage lights. Fan was installed and operational within 1 hour of Dave getting here and the Lights he added to our front Garage area look great. Was looking to have a few things done around the house....sent out requests and Direct Electric Co. responded. After speaking with the owner and sending him some additional photos and Information, a decent quote was given to change a junction box from a regular kitchen light to a ceiling fan box, hanging the ceiling fan, mounting two exterior lights (none previously mounted) and then changing out a chandelier (25 ft high). David arrived a few days later (adhering to Covid protocol) and accomplished all three things with ease. The exterior lights look great, he changed out the junction box to fit the ceiling fan and then hung it. Here's where things get good...he noticed the chandelier we bought was way to short, so while he was hanging the fan, my wife went to lamps plus, bought another one and then when he went to hang that one, it still was too short. He remained patient while my wife went and bought a 3 foot extension chain and then we finally reached the desired length. After everything was said and done, he then cleaned and vacuumed up the mess! Great electrician and a very nice guy! Would definitely recommend this professional company! Thank you again David!

We had DEC come to install a Whole House Fan. Michael and Angel arrived on time and ready to go. Unfortunately, our attic area was not large enough for the fan we had selected. We discussed our options and settled on a slightly smaller system that would fit our needs. The fan was delivered in less than an hour and the installation was completed within 45 minutes. Got a Quiet Cool installed by this company. They were great! Rick explained everything really well, and they had a very competitive price. Install went really well, took about an hour. The installers were professional and respectful of my home and where I wanted it. They explained everything, and left the place looking as good as when they got there. No mess, just a great install. Really hate giving out poor reviews... but... here it is to a company that manage to earn the rights for it!
Used this company for my solar at home, quoted a 10kw system and only installed a 7.5 kw system. At the same time, had them quote a system at my warehouse, paid $1000 for site survey, and then never heard back from the company.
Guess these guys are just too busy to do a right job.
But, probably would still use this company before talking to any SolarCity guys.

We wanted recessed lights out in our kitchen area. After getting several quotes we went with Direct Electric. The appointment date and time was set and when that day arrived the lead guy Dave and his co-worker showed up early! We relayed to them what we wanted and they laid out the schematic, my wife liked the set up and they got to work. Quick, efficient and clean! I originally contacted DEC at the end of February to do some work in my house. We had all our existing can lights switched out to LED lights, 14 additional lights installed in our home, our outdoor lighting switched out, 3 new ceiling fans installed and 1 replaced. We were pretty happy with the work, the guys were professional and courteous, but kind of over did it on the holes and now my lights don't stay flush in the ceiling...ok well no biggie, I guess we will fix it ourselves. We give that job a 4 star.
Then I contacted them this week to have our TV installed above our fireplace with all the wiring hidden and wasn't sure if an additional electrical socket would need to be installed. I was told by the owner that he'd get back to me shortly after I sent pictures of my set up. That was Monday....pretty disappointed that I was treated great with a big electrical job, but now I feel that this 'smaller job' doesn't matter and that I am not worth it as a customer. Really hope I am incorrect in my feelings, but that is how I feel after 2 days of follow up with no response. I am not going to beg someone to do work for me, but really wanted to hire again after a great experience the first time around.

DEC came out to replace my MPU, once completed the incorrect wiring done by a previous electrician reared it's ugly head (I knew there was a problem, was just lazy on calling someone out). I scheduled a follow up appointment and requested Mike and Tony since they were already familiar with my electrical. Mike and Tony were on time and went right to work, as they identified the problem, more would show up but they plowed through it. Mike and Tony were great representatives of DEC and if I should ever need more work done, I'll be calling and requesting those two again. Pricing was reasonable and fair.

Guys did a real good job. I had 3 old house fans that needed replacement. They were able to replace them with only two high velocity fans & even patched up the holes from the old vents. Total cost was $1900. I tried 2 other elec. companies & they tried to oversell 3 units costing over $3K. I'm fine with 2 units & with Direct Electric. Thanks

Company came out to do a 240v outlet installation for an electric vehicle charger. They arrived and completed the job but with little attention to detail. Instead of cutting the drywall out to neatly route the line into the garage from the breaker box; they beat a ragged hole through the wall with a screwdriver. This is now plainly visible next to the junction.
They used conduit to feed the outlets, but apparently ran out of drywall anchors. I got to fix the screws pulling out of the wall after they left. I went around to the junction box to find the screws had not been replaced outside of the garage where they had opened it under and next to the breaker box. The cover had already fallen off because they just wedged it under the lip and left it with no screws. The one screw they did put back in on the 2nd panel was sticking out and obviously twisted partially in only by hand. I picked up the plastic wrappers from the electrical parts that were left lying next to my breaker box as well as all the wire insulation ends that had been stripped off to wire the breakers. Those had been left next to the house, on the walkway and plastic wrappers were blowing across the driveway. I have previously used direct electric to install quiet cool house fans and they had done great work, which is why I didn't hesitate to use them again. This will unfortunately be the last time. The shoddy workmanship that I got this time was pretty lousy and disappointing. But hey, there is electricity at the outlet so there is that. I got to spend an hour after they left finishing the job and cleaning up the mess. I think the moral to this story is.... don't be the last customer on a Friday.

These guys are pro's when it comes to whole house fans. If you live in the IE like me and can't stand the heat, get yourself a whole house fan installed by these guys. It makes a huge difference, trust me!
I was recommended by a friend who also used these guys for their whole house fan installation. Though not cheap, it was a fair price and the best price around. I called and spoke to John. He was nice and informative and explained the whole process and answered my questions. We set up a time for installation a few days later and his guys called an hour before coming and were on time.
His installers were professional and quick about the installation, but did a good job. They explained everything to me and I understood why I was getting which fans and their placement in the house. After the install they explained to me how to use the fans to get optimal air flow to cool my house. They didn't patch up two small holes in the dry wall, but not a big deal and I can do that with some spackle in ten seconds. I was told the fans can be uninstalled and taken to a new home should I ever sell my home and decide not to leave them.
After using the fans for about a week, I wish I had gotten them sooner. Summer's in the IE can be really hot, but with the fans, it really cools down your entire home at night. You will mostly run the fans at night, and early mornings, whenever the temp outside is a lot cooler then inside your house. On really really hot days like when it's 110, the fans won't help much because the temp outside may remain at 90 throughout the night. But this might happen 5-10 days a year, and these would be the only days you would need to run the AC. The fans are also very cost efficient. I've estimated about 8 cents an hr to run the fans in my house. Summer nights will be much cooler now, and other seasons will probably never be hot in my house.

On Friday 11/1/19, I spoke to Lisa who per her own words is right under John the owner to make decisions. I was supposed to receive a call back on Monday 11/4/19 either from her or John but no call to me was made. Today, Thursday 11/7/19, I called to follow up since no one called me. Per Lisa, We cannot do the hardwire for $125 but can for $345. When I asked the reason for $345 when the option of hardwire was never given to me she stated, We install remote now and don't do many hardwire. So, wait a minute? A decision was made for me on what you thought was best for me and now you want to charge me $345 vs $125? Unfortunately, Lisa was very unprofessional as she hung up on me due to her not being able to answer my straight forward question namely, Why wasn't the hardwire option given to me but now you want to charge me $345 vs $125. It's sad that John the owner, Lisa, and Rick did not simply put aside their pride and own up to the mistake. Rather, they now lost a customer for life and no more referrals will go there way. Customer service to this company is only as good as them not making a mistake but if a mistake is made no customer service.

The entire experience with this company was great! I had a consultation with Rick and he was totally no-pressure and spent lots of time answering all my questions.
The install was a breeze (pun intended)!
Sonny and Josh R. are rock stars! They contacted me 30 minutes before arriving, as promised! They arrived and got to work! The system was installed so quickly! Sonny showed me how to use the system and that was it. I am amazed at how quickly they were able to get this system in.
They were both very nice and professional. They also made sure to cover the carpet with plastic and even vacuumed after everything was picked up. The installation is super clean and the product works!
My wife and I have been thinking of doing this for 3+ years and I wish we would have done it sooner. If you are on the fence about the whole house fan JUST DO IT, don't wait!

DEC installed 2 Quiet Cool Fans about 2 years ago. They were so clean and detailed it was like they were never in the house. Everything is still working great, not one issue. Best purchase ever!!
I called the shop and talked to Rick. I wanted to understand the Quiet Cool system and how it worked. Great guy, knowledgeable, patient, thorough, good communicator. After understanding my home layout Rick immediately gave me an out the door quote right over the phone. That means DEC, unlike some of their competitors, does not have to schedule a time to entire your attic before giving you a quote. Turns out that is not only a waste of your time but also a sales tactic that some slow companies use to upsell you into other projects that you do not need. DEC has great service and great products. Trump would love Rick and agree that Rick is BIG LEAGUE!!!
I just had this company come to give me a quote for a quiet cool house fan. While they were unable to do the job due to the attic lay out I am giving them a 5 star because of their honesty. They could have tried to sell me a smaller unit which would have fit but would have been totally inadequate for the size of my house or try to sell me two smaller fans which would have increased the price and still not adequately done the job. I appreciate honesty and their answering all my questions and will use them in the future for electrical services.

I started out consulting with Rick in the office. I went out and looked at other fans and in the end I circled back to a QC installed by DEC; thanks to a lot of consulting with Rick.
I had Keith and Josh come out for the install. These guys did a great job (...so far!) but so far I am extremely happy! I did not want a quick sloppy job, but they were in and out of here in about an hour and 15 with an excellent job!
I am loving my fan... I'm a guy that NEEDS the cool house and this is already working for me.

Do not have the fan installed near the vent.... utilize the duct so that the fan is 6-10 feet away from the vent installed in your ceiling. i.e. the whole point of buying a QC fan.
On August 16, 2016, we had two QuietCool whole house fans installed. I have to admit that it has been the best investment we have made so far. Instead of having to run our air conditioning all night for the past two night, I ran the QuietCool fans and the upstairs of my house temperature decreased overnight to 72 degrees on 8/16 and 75 degrees on 8/17. In the past I would have had to run my AC all night to be able to sleep because of the heat.
The process was really easy. I started by requesting a quote through YELP. I was then contacted by Rick who explained the process and gave me a quote for Trident Pro 6.5 series for $1,825 which included installation, the two speed switch, and timer. I explained to Rick that when I go to the QuietCool website that they also recommend adding a 2.5 in my bedroom. I asked whether that would be a good idea since our master bedroom seems to be a hot zone in the house. Given the extra expense, Rick suggested that we split the Trident Pro 6.5 into two Trident Pro 3.3 and install one in the master bedroom. This was a great recommendation. This saved hundreds of dollars and really allowed us to cool our master bedroom and entire upstairs. In fact last night, I was able to close our master bedroom door which allowed that room to cool down much faster.
The installation was great. Rick estimated that it would take 3 hours to install both fans. Mike and Sean came right on time. They went up to the attic and found the only two locations the fans could be installed. We discussed and agreed on the location and they were done exactly on time. They even took the time to show us how to work the system.
If you are on the fence regarding a whole house fan, I recommend you take the plunge.
These are my go to Electricians. My wife and I purchased our first home late last year and while we were willing to do the majority of our own renovations, we felt some of the electrical needs were beyond our skill level. So far we've had several recessed lights installed, along with a Whole house fan, and a much needed bathroom fan for guests. While the recessed lighting was an easy install, custom work needed to be done to accommodate the Quite Cool system and bathroom fan. At every turn the team at Direct Electric have been honest, forthright, and very thorough in their explanation of what we should expect. The crew always arrives early and keeps us informed as the job progresses. John has been great as an engaged owner and we've also found Steve to be excellent as both a consultant and installer. They indicated there could be additional charge if they ran into plaster vs drywall - I thought all our plaster was gone, but they did hit some which slowed them down a bit and trashed some blades, but they dealt with it and didn't charge extra. I cannot imagine having a better experience. We had a lot of work to be done. This company was fast, efficient, courteous and professional. I am really happy we received their postcard advertisement in the mail.
To start, we were interested in a whole house fan, but we needed 6 boxes put in our ceilings and two lights put out front. I called them on a Saturday and received a call back on Monday. The first person I spoke to was the salesman for the whole house fan and he helped me make sure I understood how it worked and how grateful I would be to have one (let me tell you- I am so happy!).
He made notes of the other work we needed done and I received a call about that the very next day. We really could only be here for this work on a Thursday and they were able to book us the next week. That was amazing to hear! I was told who would be running the job by name and given a window they would arrive as 7-8am.
Our workers, Tyler and Keith, knocked on the door promptly at 7am! These guys worked quickly but neatly. They talked us through everything they were going to do before doing it and did an amazing job!!

I hired Direct Electric to install a QuietCool Trident Pro 6.0 whole house fan system last summer and am so happy with it! We researched between Comfort Cool units and Quiet Cool and chose Quiet cool.
We also were diligent with calling several companies and found Direct Electric to be the least expensive which surprised us since we are in south Orange County and they are in Temecula-they even beat the prices of O.C. Installers.
The installers were great as well and wish I could remember their names to mention them here.
My only regret is not doing this years ago because it was so inexpensive in comparison to running out A/C all summer long!
John and his team did an excellent job with our home electrical needs. They arrived as scheduled, completed on time, and cleaned up and left our home as they found it...only better now that we have upgraded circuits and additional outlets and security lights. They are coming back to install our whole house fan. Great job guys!!

Great company. They installed a whole house fan setup with (3) Quiet Cool fans on a triple-switch, (2) attic fans, a garage fan and some Coach lights for me. They did a good job and it is all still working great years later. The triple-switches messed up more than a year after it was installed and they came back out and replaced it no questions asked. Great customer service.
Our Quiet Cool installation was just completed a few minutes ago!!! Steve and Tim did a great job. They arrived on time, were thoughtful in their placement of the units and did a great job cleaning up after themselves. Installation was fairly quick and they took the time to ensure all of my questions were answered.

Unfortunately, Direct Electric could not install the Quiet Cool fan in my attic because of size requirements. And this was after two of their competitors inspected my attic and told me that the fan could be installed. To me, this shows that they care more about my satisfaction rather than the sale.
Keith and Tim were both very professional and experienced. They clearly and patiently explained the issues. Despite being disappointed about not having the fan installed, I was pleased to get an honest opinion.
Direct Electric installed a whole house fan for us about five years ago. It's been wonderful and that's greatly due to the proper installation. I highly recommend them.

Got a Quiet Cool Stealth Pro 7.0x whole house fan installed today after getting quotes from four companies. The salesman, Rick, was extremely knowledgeable and forthright. The installers, David and Tim, were prompt, courteous, and efficient. They cleaned up the job area better than any other installers I've ever had work in my house. I am very happy with the entire experience and cannot wait for the warmer weather to put this thing to use.

Called DEC for a quote and Steve responded right away, set up appointment next day. Arrived on time for appointment, took down all info and sent out a bid later the same day. He knew I was in a hurry because we had a short time to get lots of things done to a new home we bought, and he was the first trade. We agreed on price and he arrived as scheduled to do the work. When I got there at 7:30 a.m. to open door, I could not find the only key I'd received from realtors, and he was very gracious and agreed to come back whenever I called. Luckily I called a locksmith who came out by 9:00 a.m. and he came back shortly thereafter to work. He did an awesome job and left the home clean. He even recommended a dry-waller to patch up the holes he left and he came in the next day to repair! Everything on schedule. Thanks to Steve from Direct Electric for making my timing work out for my move-in.
Rich Sanada Quiet Cool manager guided me with the correct size of the fan based on my house square footage. He is very professional and very knowledgable manager. I am extremely happy to have installed QuietCool whole house fan by DEC techs Mark and Tim. They did a proper measurement and the installation of the whole house fan were done in couple of hours and cleaned the area before leaving. I wish I would have done this long time ago. The whole house stays cool and not to mention increased electric bill when air condition is on. I would highly recommend DEC for whole house fan needs.

Friends have purchased Quiet Cool systems and they love it. If the outside air temp. is cooler than inside your house it saves you money over air conditioning.
I noticed D.E.C. had great yelp ratings so I took a chance. I was very impressed with Rick over the phone. He was very knowledgeable and recommended the perfect unit (Trident Pro 6.0) for our 3200 sq. ft. house. Steve and Chase installed the unit. They were earlier and had to wait for me to get home.
The install went perfect. They were quick and worked to perfection. They cleaned up, and left our home cleaner than before they arrived.
The first night our house was 78 degrees when we went to bed. I ran the unit on low and set the timer for 8 hours (10pm to 6am). We woke up and it was too cold to get out of bed. 62 degrees inside our house . The outside air temp was 59.
I was amazed
Steve and Tim came out to my house today, I inquired two days ago about a couple outlets that are not working. We needed the job done quick since we are moving soon and they have gotten it done in a timely manner. They are honest and efficient. I will definitely use them again if/when we need more electrical on this home (it will then be a rental). Highly recommend direct electric company. Also Steve called to give a heads up before he came which I appreciated as well.

This is a late review, because they completed the job several months ago. These guys were awesome. Very professional and they were right on time.The fans and lights installed are doing great. My husband and I will be hiring them again to install more fans, soon. We will not be hiring any other electricians but Direct Electric Company!!
We had a whole house fan installed. In doing much research on this product and the DEC Company they (both the product & Co.) were by far the best- too include the pricing. Both professional during the onset of sales via' the phone and during installation- they were respectful, courteous and clean. I would definitely recommend doing business with this Company.
After talking about it for years, we just had a Quiet Cool Whole House Fan installed by Direct Electric Company. This is a game changer! Can't believe the difference already. And it really lives up to its name - it is quiet and wow is it cool!
David and John from Direct Electric Company called the day of our appointment and asked if it was ok for them to come a couple hours early because they were ahead of their day's schedule. Yeah, it was! They came and did the evaluation and installation quickly and efficiently, left their work area cleaner then they found it, and were courteous and patient as they explained how the product works and how to run.

Dependability is a value I look for in any service company.
From my first contact with DEC (request an online quote) to final installation of our ceiling fan, we were in excellent hands. The estimated quote response was quick, as were the follow up phone call and appointment scheduling. Steve and Chase showed up on time and were professional and friendly. They managed to open a, not often opened, attic door and efficiently wire and hang the fan. They protected the floor and furniture and cleaned up any mess. I know hanging a ceiling fan is not a big job, but we were treated by all parties at DEC with the same courtesy and professionalism as a customer with one.
And after finishing and leaving, Steve and Chase came back when they realized they hadn't put the bed back. Great guys! Great company. Highly recommended.

After much research and phone calls to many, Rick gave a call. We were surprised and elated at the prices and time frame to finally install my WHOLE HOUSE FAN.
The technicians Keith and Josh showed up on time ready and willing to go.
We started off with a little misunderstanding on our part and waited for Rick to get back to us. During the 15/20 minutes of down time, Keith and Josh both went over the owners guide and were patient enough to answer EVERY SINGLE QUESTION I had.
Let me reiterate, they were patient with this old gal and I appreciated it very much.

Guys it's going to be HOT this summer. We've already seen temperatures over 100 degrees. I haven't had to run my AC yet.
My little Pomona home has only a janky AC window unit in the living room. For the past few years we've suffered the heat, not sleeping well on the hottest nights. Honestly I don't want to add a central AC. It's expensive to install, and to run. Furthermore, in our climate the atmosphere cools off so fast after the sun goes down it's not necessary if you have a way to get that hot stagnant air out, and the cool night air in. We got a whole house fan.
A whole house fan has a grate in the celling with the fan behind it. It sucks air out of the house and into the attic. Open a window, and you have an instant breeze. The air is forced into the attic, and exits through vents. Rooms with windows open cool fast (as long as the outside air is cooler than inside). The hot afternoon air in the attic is blown out so your home isn't roasting under a giant oven. Run your fan in the morning and the house prechills so it won't even get as hot in the sweltering afternoons. You can run your AC less.
Traditional whole house fans are LOUD. Newer innovations in this old technology have emerged with quieter fans. They cost more, but are worth it.
The Quiet Cool QC 3100: This fan moves over 3100 cubic feet per minute (CFM) of air. It's powerful. It's also quiet. I have the fan in the roof over a central hallway. I can easily watch tv, and sleep in adjacent rooms with the fan running. I can have a normal level conversation directly below the vent no problem. If you're handy order the fan direct and install it yourself. It requires cutting into the ceiling, and some electrical work. I have enough projects around the house and didn't want to spend a weekend up in the attic.
I called DEC and gave them some basic information (square footage, and number of stories). They were able to quickly calculate the size of fan I would need, and gave me an installation quote over the phone.
Two technicians showed up right on time and had the thing installed and running in less than 2 hours. They install a ton of these systems, so they work fast, and do a professional installation I wouldn't be able to match. They gave a thorough review of how to use the fan to keep the house cool. They wired the fan to a 2 speed switch. On low you still get good airflow, and it's even quieter. I keep mine on high. The switch also has a timer letting the fan shutoff in 1,2,4, and 8 hour increments. This is great. If you leave it on all night it'll get too cold!
The fan is a game changer. An environmental solution that cost pennies to run compared to an AC. The professional installation from DEC is fast and hassle free.
I had the unfortunate experience of dealing with Direct Electric Company through Freedom Solar. We had our solar panels installed and Direct Electric was supposed to upgrade our service panel. This is how it went:
SCE arrived at our home at 8 am, cut our power and waited for Direct Electric - Steve - was the person managing this upgrade I guess. SCE received a call that Direct Electric cancelled the job, it is now 9 am. SCE turned our power back on. Direct Electric NEVER called to advise us that our job was cancelled.
We called Direct Electric and Candace informed us that Steve advised her that the San Bernardino County inspector came to our house at at 8:10 am and no one was home so Direct Electric would need to reschedule. We called the County to put in a complaint because no one had arrived at our house. We opened our gates at 7 am and had been taking care of our ranch animals and did not see anyone. We spoke to the inspector and he advised us that he spoke to Steve at 8:10 this morning and advised him that his job would be the first inspection of the day, and Steve advised him that the job would not be ready to inspect for about 5 hours. The inspector advised Steve that he would visit the job later in the day.
We called Candace back at Direct Electric and continued to get the run around. First she stated it was the inspector, then she stated SCE, it was excuse after excuse.Two different stories and neither one of them the truth.
When I called back at 11:40 am to find out what was going on, I spoke to Cassandra because Candace was not available and I felt completely blown off. Customer Service does not exist with Direct Electric.
We took the day off work, gassed up my motorhome so I could run the AC to keep my dogs cool in the 105 degree weather we are expected today.
I contacted Freedom Solar and advised them that I will not allow Direct Electric on my property and to find another Electric company to switch out the service panel.
Direct Electric does not believe in customer service, and they do not believe in follow up. As of right now 12:47 pm I have yet to have a call back from them.
I know not everyone has had the unacceptable service as I have, but you may want to reconsider using Direct Electric. With my experience, the customer is not number one!
As some of the other reviews, I did NOT find them reliable nor did I find them honest.

Was shopping around for a company to install Quiet Cool whole house fans and came across Direct Electric Company through all the 5 star reviews on Yelp. First spoke with Rick who was very knowledgable about the product line and consulted with me to determine the right one to install. No pressure at all.
Sonny and Josh came out to do the actual install and were professional throughout the entire process. I had a complicated attic with AC ducts and a furnace but they were able to make it work. Job was done efficiently and they left no trace behind. They showed me how to operate the fan and advised on cleaning and maintenance.
Thanks Direct Electric Company we love our Quiet Cool whole house fan. No longer does my second story feel like an oven.
We had an attic fan installed on Tuesday. It was a bit noisy, but the installers let us know that the thermostat was set for 90 degrees, so once the attic temperature got to that temperature it would shut off. Well it did NOT shut off. In fact, it has not shut off once in over 24 hours since they installed it! And since it is installed over our bedroom and sounds like an airplane, we have already had one sleepless night and are going into another. The product is obviously faulty, but when my husband called them today to have them come out again, they said that they would not be out until Friday. I tried to call them back to get them out sooner to at least turn the darned thing off, but all I am getting is their answering service. Left a message, but no one has called me back. So now we are looking at our second sleepless night due to THEIR faulty product. To make matters worse, since they would not come out to shut off the fan, out of desperation my husband went up into the attic space to see if he could find the shut off switch, but didn't get there because he ended up stepping through the ceiling in our bedroom! So now we have a hole in the ceiling of our bedroom, an attic fan that sounds like an airplane, and several sleepless nights ahead of us! Terrible product and terrible service!

This was one of the best buying experiences we have had. Rick called and discussed all options with my husband. His knowledge and patience were far above standard. Tim and Kyler came out to install and what an amazing experience. They were both knowledgeable, helpful and were such a pleasure to work with. I was very thankful for the service Direct Electric Company (DEC) provided when I needed a repair on my new Quiet Kool whole house fan. The company that installed the fan was no longer in business. I contacted DEC and within a day they arrived at my home and quickly repair the fan. The technician was confident, very knowledgeable, efficient The repair was made quickly, his work area left clean and the price was reasonable. There was a follow up call from the technician's supervisor to be sure I was satisfied with the work done on my fan.

Sonny and Josh came out and installed a power outlet quick as can be. I also asked for a fan to be installed, but the pre-wired access point wasn't for a fan (only for a light). Sonny took the time to explain the situation with me and gave me good advice about how to proceed.
I don't have to write anything other than the process of buying and having the whole house fan installed was awesome. The technicians were plain and simple, THE BEST.
As for the Trident Pro 6.5 system itself, I will have to come back later -- after using it for awhile -- to comment on the energy saving and unit efficiency.
It was a truly a pleasure working with Direct Electric. John set up our installation appointment and later modified when it didn't work for us. He was honest and fair in his on the phone quote.
Sonny and Josh came out and worked hard to find solutions to some difficult problems. They kept me in the loop every step of the way. They were friendly and personable and clearly had the technical knowledge to make it work. We could not have been happier with the job that they did. I greatly appreciate partnering with them through this process and we now enjoy our whole house fan.
I moved into my house and had a few electrical issues that needed fixing. Since the home was under warranty and the previous owner had some work done recently this was all covered under that warranty. They fixed the electrical outlet issues and I have not had any problems since.

I requested a quote to re-attach wires for an adapter to my calibration computer and spoke with John. He responded extremely fast and gave me a great quote. I dropped off the adapter to John and he repaired it in no time at all! I really appreciated the quality of service he provided! The adapter is more secure and better than before. It is foolish to take a swing at doing your own electrical work. It even worse to hire an unlicensed handyman to come out and destroy the integrity of your home's electrical system. There are two things that you need to leave to the experts. Plumbing and electrical work. There are no exceptions to this rule.
That said, we were looking for the highest rated, most qualified and experienced electricians to work on our home. We needed EVERYTHING updated and multiple fire hazards to be corrected. For some unknown reason, the prior owners liked to tinker with their electrical system...
We had countless chipped, yellow outlets and switches that were unreliable and ugly to look at. Our breaker box was dated and questionable at best. We actually had homemade SPEAKER WIRE powering lights in our livingroom! So we called DEC...
The owner John came out to our home for the initial estimate and inspection. His approach was honest and direct. He was not going to charge us for stuff that we did not absolutely need. This is proven by the way that he recommended NOT replacing our breaker box outright. He said that was unnecessary and that he would simply replace a few things on it to make it safe and reliable.
We got a quote on our job and decided to proceed. Best decision we have ever made. They sent an electrician named Justin that was on time, respectful and had a thing for electrical work. Smart guy.
Justin let us know he was going to turn off our power and got to work. This was nice since we were able to brew a quick pot of coffee before he did his thing. Justin was methodical. One problem after another was quickly addressed by rewiring or replacing the guilty components. Everything was then tested to confirm that it worked properly.
All the work was done to beyond our satisfaction and we were very happy with how everything now seemed to work the way it should. The house also looks like it stepped out of the 1980's, and into modern times. Great work guys!
On a side note, I have to mention that an issue came up at our place after the initial work was completed... Our elderly dog got attacked by a pack of coyotes in our back yard. Don't worry, we took her to a vet and she is doing fine.
Because of this incident though, we wanted to surround the house with LED sensor lighting to decrease the possibility of future coyote visits. We called DEC again, and they sent Justin out again to update all of our external lighting.
Holy crap. It is like daylight around the perimeter of our place at night now! If those damn coyotes come around now, we will see them plain as day. They do not like bright lights or large breed dogs. Next, we will get a few big dogs to patrol our place. In addition, I will also keep a full bucket of war rocks handy to throw at the coyotes in case they ever return.
Good news is this. I can sleep better at night because of DEC. My electrical issues have been resolved and my home is safe. In addition, I know that we have extreme visibility surrounding my home. That is way better than what we used to have...manual floodlights that are expensive to run and are not as bright as LED's.
Call DEC with any electrical issues, and they will provide solutions. These guys are smart. Very smart. It was a pleasure to do business with them and we plan on calling them in the future for more upgrades.
On a final note, I have to mention money. More specifically, the costs associated with quality work. The price we paid for our projects were entirely reasonable, and a total deal if you consider that all DEC electricians are licensed, insured and professional. They DO NOT play games.
If you want to roll the dice with a handyman, consider yourself warned. Maybe handyman Joe will electrocute himself as he is tinkering around in your attic? Or maybe he can cause a nice house fire for you to enjoy! As Sweet Brown says in her infamous video...Ain't Nobody Got Time Fo Dat!

This company uses unethical methods to conduct business. I would highly discourage you from using their services. They quoted me a price over the phone. Despite numerous phone calls to email me a bid in writing they failed to do so. Furthermore, after doing the job they demanded more than twice what they had quoted over the phone. They claimed that I had only selected to do one portion of the job. True, but my attic would not accommodate any additional equipment according to their technician. I had received bids from other reputable service providers for half the amount and should have gone with them instead. Don't get ripped off by these crooks!
We just recently had our house's interior painted. We got new shutters installed along with hardwood floors and new carpeting . I decided that we should also update the switches and plugs installed.
John and his partner, Rudy, were the best! They showed up at the designated time and in just a couple of hours, we had brand new Decora switches and outlets installed. They really make the house look pulled together. They didn't leave any mess and were super professional. They even wore plastic booties over their workboots.
I would have no qualms about recommending them or using them again. Brenda, in the office deserves recognition as well. She also is very professional - and has a great sense of humor! I had to make a couple of schedule changes and she was great about it.
They even found and fixed a potential fire hazard. Great guys and a job well done!

The main circuit breaker on our home blowout! It was over 105 degrees out with humidity! Everything in our home was shut down. No way that I was going to change it...too dangerous! Looked in the phone book for local electricians....wasn't sure who to trust....Didn't want to get scammed either.
Looked up YELP & found Direct Electric Company (DEC). They had awesome reviews!
Called them up & explained my situation to their front office person. She was very helpful. She had the owner, John, call me back within minutes. John called me...got the info he needed about my circuit panel & he quoted the cost, which was very reasonable. He had one of his crew out to my home within 45 minutes! They assessed the panel...changed the main circuit breaker & my home was up & running again!
BTW there was no up selling either!

I am very pleased with Direct Electric. I had a previous contractor who had to be let go from my electrical needs and Direct came in fixed the situation and the end result is great. I had a 200amp panel upgrade and the stucco repair is so well done one can't tell where the hole was. I highly recommend. John at Direct Electric is a great guy.

I had a solar system installed by Direct Electric Company on the recommendation of an Electrical Engineer I know. They are a very professional company. They were here on-time, with all the equipment to get the job done that day and it was done right. The system works very well and I no longer pay for electricity anymore. I have no water leaks like others in my complex had to contend with. The company also sent an electrician out that worked well into the evening to ensure the ground would pass inspection. In the Navy we say Bravo Zulu or, Well done.
After requesting recommendations through my cities Facebook page Eastvale Talk and looking at Yelp, I decided to give DEC a call, among other vendors. I talked to Ric (sales guy) and it was a very good professional experience. He was knowledgeable and answered all my questions correctly without bullshit or any sales pitches. Just facts, which I liked. So I decided to go with DEC for my Whole House fan based on this.
I was a little shocked at the price for the QuiteCool Trident system, but my house is big and I understood the physics behind it the size needed. The system is better then the cheap Home Depot direct belt drive fans. So after a few research links, I decided to go with DEC recommendation of the Trident 6.5 system with 15 yr warranty. The price was a little over my range, so I had to think about it and look at my numbers.
I emailed Ric to thank him for his support, but that the price was a little over my budget and that I will have to pass. After a few emails back and forth, we agreed on a price and setup an installation date. I like the fact that they stuck with me and didn't blow me off. They actually worked with me to get the system installed. That is great too.
The installation crew showed up on time and started work. The only complain I had was that I saw the installer taking my smoke alarm off and I asked him why, since it seemed weird to me. He said they were tapping into it to get AC power to power the fans. I am no building code enforcer or know the codes/laws but it didn't seem right that they will tap into my fire alarm system. I didn't feel comfortable having the fan's 10-13 amps of current going through a low-current smoke alarm that are in series. Long story short, we went back and forth about it debating the legality and functionality. I was getting frustrated because the installers were trying to school me on why it is OK and they would say things that were not correct when it came to power. I never told them, but I am getting my PhD in Electrical Engineering and these guys where telling me I was wrong and schooling me. I would fire back simple questions to their debating answers and they couldn't answer them correctly or hum/ha around it. I think after a few minutes, they realized I knew what I was talking about and gave up to make a call to the owner John for advice. But even after all that, that installation team still did great work and were very good at what they did. It was only the schooling that I didn't like.
At the end, the system was installed and they gave a great presentation on how it works and how to use it. After installers left, I went into the attic to see the system and noticed that there was still a power wire going from the attic outlet to the smoke alarm junction box. I also noticed the grill from the vent damaged. I sent an email to Ric and John (owner) called me almost right away. He was very professional and assured me that he will have another crew come to my house the next day to change vent grill and look at wiring. That is great customer service and I really appreciated that. John assured me his guys will take a look.
In the end, I was happy with everything. The second crew came the next day, replaced my grill and assured me that the power was from the outlet and not from the smoke alarm. They even ran some tests to make sure my home breakers don't pop.
You rarely see now a days this type of customer service. I would definitely recommend them or call them again.

This review will be a bit long since in fairness, I want to disclose everything. My experience with Direct Electric began 4 years ago. We had them install some lighting, ceiling fans and a Quiet Cool whole house fan system. I am guessing in all, the work probably cost around $7,000. The main portion of that cost was this Quiet Cool fan system which they still sell today. The system that was installed 4 years ago differs only slightly from what is offered today. We went with the Stealth Pro which provide for a 15 year warranty for the fan motors.
Fast forward to 2017 and despite the fact that we've used this Quiet Cool system, it really does nothing to help during the heat of the day. I called up an insulation contractor to come out and inspect our attic. I noticed that even though we have R30 fiberglass batts, many of them have been thrown around over the years because of the people that have worked up there. My plan was to have them blow another R30 worth of insulation over the top of the existing. The gentleman came out and during his inspection he commented that he was also a Quiet Cool representative. After finishing the inspection of the attic, he came down and asked us about our ventilation. Specifically, he asked if we had any additional ventilation installed when the Quiet Cool system was installed. I told him that no one ever mentioned that I needed anything additional but I did tell him that we had air coming out from our built in bookcases and other housings around the ceiling. We did the math based on the system that was installed and I called Quiet Cool as well to get their opinion. As it turns out, I needed approx 13 cu feet of ventilation for which I currently have 5 cu feet! So for 4 years now, I've been running this system with a positive static pressure build up in the attic because the air cannot escape fast enough to properly vent.
I am now in the process of finding a roofer in the middle of summer to vent my house properly. I'm told I need an additional 14 Ohagen roof vents and those estimates have been coming in between $ 3,000 - $ 5,000. It would have been appreciated if Direct Electric (specifically Justin who was the installer) or another rep who originally quoted the work would have disclosed what would be required for this Quiet Cool system. In my opinion, Direct Electric was more concerned about making a sale than they were about correctly and competently quoting everything that would be needed. The reality is, if you are having a Quiet Cool System installed in your home, it is very likely that you will need additional ventilation for the system to correctly work.
To make matters worse, one of the Quiet Cool fans in the bedroom stopped working. I knew they were covered for 15 years so I called Direct Electric to see what would need to be done to fix the fan. They told me that whether it is the fan or some other issue with their wiring, they were going to charge me $235 to just show up and diagnose the issue. They also told me that no on else could do the work or it would void the warranty. Feeling as though I had no choice, I had them come out this past week to fix it. As it turns out, it was not the Quiet Cool fan but rather THEIR wiring at the switch that was the problem. A neutral wire had popped out of the wire nut at the switch THEY installed. I asked them if they don't twist their connections before they install a wire nut. (This was something I had learned while I was an apprentice electrician in the union years ago) He told me that they don't twist their wires because after installing the wire nut it can cause the wire to break. Something I have never, ever heard. Bottom line, another $235 for something that could have been avoided had it been correctly installed. They had no problem asking for a credit card though. Oh, and yes, the electrician who was out did concur that I needed more ventilation but offered no suggestions or advice. He simply told me that it was Justin's fault and there was nothing he could do.
So yes, although most of the work by Direct Electric was done 4 years ago, even after bringing the issue to their attention, still ignored me and seemed only concerned about getting out of the house. Total time spent in my home for $235? About 15 minutes. Caveat emptor.

I can not give enough praise to this company and the staff and employees.
I had a very difficult panel replacement and Jordan and Sonny handled the situation like professionals and went above and beyond to make sure I would have power that night even with the chaos and confusion Edison caused regarding the reconnect.
First Lisa was always kind and courteous and very good about returning my phone calls and keeping me informed through the entire process beginning to end.
Jordan and Sonny showed up on time and promptly started work. The first problems occurred when they discovered the old out dated panel was retrofitted at some point with solid conduit making it challenging to remove without damaging the existing wiring. That was just the beginning of a list of issues involving Edison, the inspectors and a plethora of craziness. These two were champions. I feel their professionalism went above and beyond and They are wonderful representatives of your company.
I will highly recommend direct electric to people in need of electricians.

I've been meaning to get a whole house fan for years... Direct Electric gave me the best deal, but more importantly the technicians Sean and Calvin were very nice and professional! They helped me pick the best place for the grill, explained the process and were in and out in no time... The install was seamless and clean. Don't wait years like I did... wish I would have done this sooner.

Great Great company. I had DEC out today to install a QuietCool and 3 Ceiling fans. Cuyler and Tim were the two installers who provided the service. They showed up on time, were very professional and explained everything and answered all my question. You will not go wrong if you hire DEC. Ron has been the best electrician I've ever had visit my house! I just moved to this area and needed somebody quick to bring power to one of my outlets and did not have to wait long for Ron to show up. Ron is a good, honest, down to earth kind of guy and knows what he's talking about. I felt relieved how quick he could come fix my issue and he won't cheat you on costs.
I needed 5 ceiling fans installed. Got in contact with John who responded quickly. Was given a reasonable price and had them installed within he week. Jordan the technician found a used fan which I thought was new and told me to return it. Truly great work and zero complaints.
I messaged them through Facebook and rec'd a call within minutes. We bought a home that had been a rental and had no electrical run for ceiling fans and we wanted them in all bedrooms and the family room. John took the time to explain what CFM to look for as well as fan size based on the sq. footage of each room. We scheduled an appointment to have electrical run and I was off to find the perfect fans . . .
The day of the appointment, the young man was not only on time but was very friendly and professional. He had sheets of plastic with him to cover furniture/flooring so there was no mess when he was done. He did a great job running the electrical and explaining what he was doing as he went. He got our fans assembled and installed and made sure everything worked right and was balanced (no annoying noises and wobbling).

Shortly after this review was posted, John (owner) called me to discuss and go over the entire experience and all of the shortcomings of his team which I faced on the initial installation.
I should start by saying that after his phone call with me - it was very clear that he was very sincere and a big believer in customer satisfaction and that his eagerness to make it correct was impressive.
He made it a point to understand where I was coming from and helped me re-design the whole house fan solution. With that in mind, he worked with me to get his crew out as soon as possible and this time around after conducting a full thorough inspection of the attic space, his team was able to take more business home (with the installation of the CL 6400). They came across a wooden enclosure storage in the attic and they gladly assembled it to make sure that the CL-6400 fits and sits correct.
Additionally, he replaced the existing QC TRI PRO 2.2 to QC TRI PRO 3.3 without any extra charges as the airflow was not sufficient given the sq ft of the area we were trying to cover.
All in all, I want to take this opportunity to make sure I fully express myself on how John/DEC electric made sure that this investment I made with him and the entire experience which was really about getting the correct whole house fan solution was rectified to my satisfaction. Thank you.

Steve and Chase did a quick and quality job of installation of our QuietCool whole house fan. They were on time, kept us informed and asked appropriate questions regarding placement of the grill and controller. It has only been a week since the installation and we have had only cool weather, so we truly have not yet had the opportunity to test out the efficiency of the unit. We will add an addendum if we run into any problems.
The first phone call started out fine. Rick Sanada, a manager for Direct electric company gave me a quote over the phone and scheduled my appointment. That's when things started to go wrong. He originally set an appointment for me on Wednesday morning at 10 AM. So I cleared my schedule at work and waited for someone to show up. As you can probably guess nobody showed up and it was already 1045am. So I decided to call Rick. He did not answer the phone so I left a message. It was about 12 o'clock and still nobody showed up. I picked up the phone and called Rick again. This time he answered and acted so surprised that nobody has shown up yet. I told him I took the day off work and he seemed not to care just eager to reset the appointment (probably so he can get paid ). I told him yes things happen but I should have at least been contacted if no one was going to show up or even be late. He agreed, then quickly went back to setting up another appointment. Foolishly I agreed to have them come back the next day at 3 PM. So I left work early to meet them at 3 PM and as you can expect they did not show up. So I called Rick and he did not answer the phone at 3:30. About an hour later no one has shown up or tried to contact me. I proceeded to send Rick an email letting him know how unsatisfied I was. I still did not hear back from him. One of the installers finally called me about 430pm. He was very rude and acted like it was my fault that he was scheduled to be in LA that morning and backed up his entire route for the day. He rudely asked me do I still want him to come. Foolish me again, I gave them another chance and said OK. They arrived about 30 minutes later and were very rude and unprofessional. Once they went up in my attic, It turns out the fan that Rick sold me over the phone would not fit. Understandable, he was not at my house to see the conditions. The installers told me that they could not install anything that day. They gave me a quick recommendation to buy two separate fans and were ready to leave. I then asked him if he was going to clean up all the insulation he had dropped out of my attic before he left. He then asked me do you have a broom? (He seamed to be bothered by my question) I think this happens on every install and they should have supplied their own broom, but I let him use mine anyways. Not a big deal I guess. He did a half hearted clean up and left. As you can tell I will not be doing any business with this company and don't recommend them to anybody else. I'm glad I didn't have to pay anything up front. I sell residential solar for a living and expect the same level of professionalism I give to my customers.
I was referred to Direct Electric by my neighbor so knowing my neighbor knew these guys must be good. I needed 5 ceiling speakers wired, a light outlet moved to the center of the room for a fan, 6 can lights installed with a new switch and a co axle cable dropped behind a wall which was inaccessible to the cable company per Verizon. All of which would be bundles for a wall mount TV so they added an electrical outlet for the TV. Arrived on time and worked very hard all day to get the job done. They were quiet (I work from home), clean, very nice, and very reasonable for what they did for me. I have some other minor things to get done and no question I'll be reaching out to DEC. I also had a web event for work and they accommodated me by taking lunch a little early so there wouldn't be any drills going off. Plus they were friendly to my dogs who are a little obnoxious to strangers.

This is an AMAZING COMPANY! I had them install 4 Quiet Cool Whole House Fans almost 10 years ago and it has been one of the best investments I have ever made. Last week the auto timer for the fans stop working so I reached out to Candice and explained my problem. She connected me to Jordan an electrician who kindly explained he could come out and replace the timer but it would be expensive do to minimum house call fees. But he told me the part was only $50 and if I could change out a light switch I could change the timer myself in about 5 minutes. Well the color of the wires coming out of the wall did not match the colors of the wires coming out of the new switch so I had to call again - which I'm sure they thought was a pain in the you know what? But Jordan explained what I need to know and WALA, everything worked great! Jordan even called back a few hours later to make sure everything went smooth. DEC is the only place I will take my business and I suggest you consider doing the same.
I had a whole house fan installed in my home in Canyon Lake. I currently have a tenant living in the home and they worked with all of our schedules to come out quickly and get the job done. They were affordable and on time, which is something I really value. I would definitely use them for future home renovations.
I had been researching Whole House Fans for about a year for my 2 story 2200sq ft home in Redondo. This summer temperatures peaked higher than ever, with no breeze at all. A card from DEC arrived in the mail one day, and they sold Quiet Cool fans, the brand my research found was the best, so I was off to the races! I reached out to John via email, and phone, and he very professionally answered all of my questions, and we set a date for the installation. On the day of the install, we discovered that my house turned out to have a very unique attic structure that would not allow the inlet for the fan to be placed in the ceiling of the upstairs landing which would have been ideal. Instead, it had to be placed in the spare bedroom. The installation crew was fast, clean, and professional, completing the install from start to finish in under 2 hours. I questioned the amount of attic venting I had, and weather it would restrict the fan's full efficiency, but the installer told me it would be fine. After operating the fan for a few days, I knew it was being choked by the insufficient venting. The fan model required 6.73 sq ft of venting, and my house had only 3.14 sq ft. So, I made arrangements for the installers to come back out and install additional roof vents. They did so this past week, and I must say that I am blown away (pardon the fan pun), at how well the fan now can cool the house! The hottest room of the house, my office, was cooled to the point of giving me chills in under 5 minutes, on an 82 degree hot afternoon! I am sold on whole house fans. They cost a small fraction of installing central air, cost less to operate, and do the job quite well. If you're on the fence about whether to go AC or WHF, go with the WHF and Direct Electric. You will not be sorry! Thanks John and DEC!

We had a Quiet Cool whole house fan installed by Direct Electric. As a business owner myself I am extremely impressed. From the day I called for a quote to my install everything was perfect! Rick (Sales Manager) was personal, friendly and informative. Keith came to our home to do the install and was extremely professional, clean, friendly and informative. My kids were being kids and he was so patient and kind. I know that has nothing to do with the business....but it represents his character and demeanor even when trying to get the job done. The installation was quick, mostly quiet and clean. My only complaint is that we had not discovered these fans years ago! Best investment!!! Don't bother with quotes....hands down best SoCal company for Quiet Cool and will beat any price!

Excellent service. Very knowledgable and friendly service providers. They corrected the faulty work of a previous electrician while installing a new fan, reducing the risk of a localized electric fire. They called and came early when a previous appointment was cancelled. The cost quoted was the cost paid. I'd definitely use them again for electrical service and would recommend them to friends.
Called Monday morning while getting windows installed. They gave me a quote in the am, was here by 3 and installed a quiet cool 3.3 in a matter of 45 minutes. No mess and very quite system and love it. Thanks DEC.

Nothing but good things to say about DEC. Came out 30 minutes earlier than expected (came from a long distance and they planned for more traffic) which was refreshing - usually people come 30 minutes late. They installed our whole house fan in an hour and cleaned everything up after they were done. If you're thinking about getting a whole house fan installed, look no further...call DEC.

I talked to John, the owner of DEC, over the phone and we discussed installation of a whole house fan and two ceiling fans. John knew exactly the type of system of whole house fan would be best for our home and quoted a fair price for the entire job.
I had to change the installation appointment day and Jessica, form the office, was very accommodating.
On installation day Chris and Brenton did an outstanding job in putting in the whole house fan system and two ceiling fans. They were professional, courteous and really nice guys.
Couldn't ask for a better experience from a company. We will surely contact DEC for any further electrical work.

Jessica was very responsive and professional when she recommended the Stealth 3.3 system for my home.
Justin and Chris performed the installation. They were also very professional. Upon completion, they cleared and vacuumed the area.
I would recommend DEC without any reservations.
We live in the Inland Empire, which runs about 10 degrees cooler than Palm Springs. It is HOT here in the summer!!
We had Direct Electric install 3 Quiet Cool fans a few weeks ago in our home. I can tell you the fans have honestly changed our life. We have no air upstairs and we have 4 young kids. Our upstairs was getting to be 89-90+ degrees. It's so hard to sleep when it is so hot! (Last year we had days when it was over 92-94+ at bedtime...TOO HOT, even with fans...)
The crew was very courteous and efficient. They were respectful to me and my kids. They have been working for years and have a lot of experience (something I appreciate!) We had them also install 2 ceiling fans in my children's rooms. They were done with everything in under 4 hours; I think the Quiet Cool portion took no longer then 2-2.5 hours. (And that's because they kept double checking them to make sure they were perfect). They also pulled down our giant OLD house fan. There is a night and day difference between the older whole house fan and Quiet Cools. The older whole house fan would be so loud, run for hours, and MAYBE drop the temp 3 degrees in 90 min. These QCs work much more efficiently and use considerably less electricity. You can feel the cool breeze across the entire house.
We put the QC fans on in the morning. Then we close up the house by mid morning. The upstairs continues to heat up. Right now at 12:30pm it is 81 upstairs. Not as bad as it was before the fans! We put the fans back on about 6-7pm (depending on outside). The upstairs gets cool enough to actually sleep well. I think it was 82 (or less) last night! Yes, it's warm. But we don't have air, and we don't have blackout curtains during the day on the windows to trap all the cool air in (working on it... ). It would be cooler if we woke up and turned the fans on earlier, too. The first night I ran the QCs, my house dropped down to 71 degrees. I have NEVER had my house that cold before! I LOVED it! (the kids were too cold though...they are used to the warmth now). The QCs are also helping keep the downstairs cool. I don't have my downstairs air on, either; even though it is 95 outside, it's a nice cool 78 with no air going.

Yelp saves the day, again. I found DEC on Yelp and read the reviews. Justin and Chris came out yesterday and installed my system in no time at all, maybe an hour tops.They originally gave me a window of 3-5PM. Justin called me at 3 to tell me they were a little late on another job and wouldn't be there until 4. Still showed up right in the timeframe they gave me. Used the system last night and it worked great. Daytime high was in the 90's, but I turned the air conditioner was off at 8 and the quite cool kept us cool all night. Wish I'd done this 10 years ago. Great company!

I'm a little late giving my review but these guys were great. Talked on the phone initially and determined the proper whole house fan for us. Got a good price. No hidden fees. Scheduled the install, they showed up on time and got to work quickly. I'm not joking when I say that thing was installed and running within an hour. They know exactly what they're doing. They were clean and gave me a good overview on the fan operation. If you're in the market for a fan, these are the guys you want.
Had two house fans installed. They did an excellent job for a very reasonable price. They went above and beyond and I will definitely be calling them again.

My wife and I own a two story house in San Jacinto and last week we had Direct Electric install two QuietCool whole house fans, a Trident 2.5 in our master bedroom and a Trident 3.3 for the house itself. I started out talking to Rick on the phone at their office who was really helpful and patient answering my questions. Rick is an excellent salesperson which I very much appreciate. I could easily tell he was very honest and wasn't just out to make a quick sale. The two technicians who installed the fans were Keith and Dave. They did an excellent job and the fans work great! Before the job started I was a bit concerned how the grills on the ceiling would look upstairs but they actually look just fine, a lot better than the grill for our furnace/central A/C. When turned on they don't make much noise at all and in fact the noise is rather soothing. They installed a switch on the wall for both units and it even has a timer on it or I can turn it on without using the timer. It really helps when it's cooler or the same temperature outside as it is inside. We have three dogs and we both like that it freshens the air in the house. Although we have a central A/C normally we use a window swamp cooler for cooling the house. I am sure those who use A/C instead of a swamp cooler can save major dollars with the whole house fan. I check my energy usage online every day and I can tell the whole house fans use some energy but nothing compared to when we used to use our central A/C. By the way, a few days ago I talked to Lisa at Direct Electric and found her to be a very nice person too. My wife and I both highly recommend Direct Electric for the QuietCool whole house fan and I bet they would also do a terrific job doing other electric work as well.

direct electric company installed a 6.5 Quiet Cool whole house fan today and already our house is 10 degrees cooler than yesterday. Their top techs Sonny and Josh were the best. Arrived on time, gave us excellent advice on how to save money, did not push extra vents which we thought we would need, and did a fabulous and neat job with installation. Under two hours ,start to finish . They were so curtious and polite, and gave us so many good pointers on how to work the system to work most economically and efficiently for us. Highly recommend these guys at Direct Electric, the best installers for Quiet Cool whole house fans. No one else knows about as much about these systems as they do.
DEC installed a whole house fan for me, and made it all very easy. John knew the right system from our phone conversation, scheduled a time (1 hour window). DEC arrived on time, efficiently installed the system, just as promised. I couldn't be happier. I would definitely call them again for an electrical matter.

I had a QuietCool fan system installed by Direct Electric and I cannot say anything negative about the experience. I first contacted through the company website and received a call back the nest day from Rick. He was full of knowledge about the systems and took the time to talk to me and answer all of my questions. After we spoke about the size of my home I decided to go with the TRIDENT PRO-6.5. We set my appointment and the guys arrived exactly at the time that was agreed upon. David and Keith did the install and the system was up and running in 45 minutes. They went over how the system works and also had time to go over another project I was thinking about having done. So far the system is running beautifully and we love it. Could not be happier and will definitely call Direct Electric for future projects. Thanks again.
We had DEC install 4 Quiet Cool whole house fan last week. John provided us with excellent customer service in determining the best system for our house. He explained the options over the phone. The next morning, his crew showed up on time. They located just the right spots for fan installation. They quickly installed the fans and cleaned up very well. I was very impressed with DEC. I just bought a piece of property that had two units on it and in need of some electrical work. Justin showed up on time which I always appreciate and diligently finished all the work requested. I was paying by the hour and I did not feel he delayed anything to pad the time he was working. Everything works great. He was there for 2 hours and 15 minutes but only charged me for 2 hours with no added costs. I will definitely be using DEC again when I need them and already referred two people to them.
Everything from the scheduling to the consult to the install was easy. The staff are all extremely polite and professional. The instal was fast and the price was great. I would recommend them!

John, Lisa, Dave, and Kyle did an excellent job installing solar on my house. It doesn't get much more professional that this outfit.
I called and met with 5 solar companies before I hooked up with John at DEC. John was very up front and explained all the costs and the procedures and why this panel vs that panel. I was very happy to speak with someone who was interested in conveying the proper information I was asking for-when most of the competitors were just trying to put on a song and dance to get the sale.
I would recommend John and his team at DEC for any electrical job-no matter how big or small.

We purchased the 6.5 Trident Pro Quiet Cool whole house fan from DEC (Direct Electric Company) yesterday, and it was installed the same day, WOW! now that truly is going above and beyond the call of duty!
Guys showed up on time, and it took literally about 1.5 hours for the complete install and clean up. The longest part was finding the key location of placing the unit. once that was accomplished, it was installed in about 45 mins. Both David and Sonny were very nice, and worked well together, they were a well oiled machine, you can tell they work with each other often. anyway...if you need a whole house fan, or anything electrical done, I highly recommend using this Company. Great price too! they beat everyone across the board! not to mention AGAIN....Same day Service! very happy and we'll be using them for additional electrical needs! and....on a side note, we also dealt with Rick on the initial call, and with Lisa too, both very attentive to our needs and a pleasure to do business with from start to finish. DEC did a great job, again. Two years ago, I conducted competitive bids for solar on three homes. DEC came in as the best value and won the job. They did a great job (see my other review). This time round, my Dad was convinced by a cold call and signed up for solar over the phone by a national solar chain. I quickly scanned the reviews on Yelp (lots of complaints), reviewed the contract (had a 10 day cancel, no penalties clause) and price, then called DEC. Based on my past experience, I was certain that DEC would give me a great price and do a great job.
I was not disappointed. I was able to cancel the contract with the national solar chain, saved 20% on the purchased system (big chunk of money) and the project was completed on schedule with no problems.
Normally, I have the nature of wanting to know everything that is being done to the house. This is a 25 year life product, thus I want to make sure it was done right. Because of my previous experience with DEC, I sat back and let them do everything without any influence from me. I completed the paperwork as needed and made sure someone was at the jobsite for the inspection and two days of installation.
The team showed up on time both days, kicked out the work, had it inspected and was fully operational at the end of day two. My high expectation was met. Price, professionalism, commitment, cleanup... I will call DEC next time I need any electrical work done. I highly recommend them.
In researching whole house fans, I determined that the latest technology was such as the Quiet Cool fans. Looking for a vendor to install, I opted for Direct Electric, as Rick was by far the first to reply to my inquiry from the manufacturer's site, and Direct Electric was the best price found. After several emails with Rick, who was incredibly responsive and helpful, I had the Stealth 2.5 installed. Keith and Josh were able to do it on Monday, after my order was placed on Friday. As requested, they gave me a phone call 30 minutes in advance so I could get home. The install was quick and clean. In fact, the only way my wife knew they were here was because the toilet seat was up in her bathroom! So I was overall very satisfied. I just wish that Quiet Cool Manufacturing would sell equipment that would allow me to manage the fan controls electronically via my phone. I was hoping to integrate with my Cox Homelife system or even via a separate iPhone app.

Found Direct Electric while searching for Quiet Cool Whole House fan installers. I chatted with the owner online who was very helpful. I received a quote online and John set me up with an installation date. Justin was the installer. They were extremely punctual and completed the work in about an hour. We had 2 Stealth fans installed. Our biggest concern was the noise from our old fan. These new fans are so quiet that we forgot at times they were even on. They cool the house down very well. We are extremely pleased with Direct Electric and their professional response to our needs.

Found Direct Electric Company while searching for whole house fans. Saw lots of good reviews online so I gave them a call and inquired about their Quiet Cool fans. Very impressed with their responsiveness and all my questions were quickly answered. Was able to get squeezed in to an early installation time and owner himself showed up along with another installer. Both were very professional and friendly. I had four fans installed in my home and I have no complaints. They look great and Direct Electric Company obviously has a lot of experience installing them. I found an electrician I can trust and will keep their number on hand for any future needs.
They installed 2 house house fans for me a few months ago. The installers were professionally and did a good job installing the fans and making it look clean. The fans work well, especially cooling down our upstairs. They do use more electricity than I anticipated, but cheaper than using the AC. I recommend DEC and the Quiet Cool fans they installed.

We were looking to get home solar panels and got multiple quotes for the project. Direct Electric was the best price and John the owner was very knowledgable about the product. John was quick to respond to all questions we had about the product and install. Lisa in the office was on top of emails and would respond quickly with any questions or updates throughout the whole process. They took care of everything involved with setting up solar with Southern California Edison and all permit related items with the city. The install took 3 days as promised and the guys that came to do the install were professional and courteous. You can tell that everyone that works there takes pride in their work. We also had Direct Electric install can lights in our laundry room and closet. The did a fantastic job and were very neat and tidy. I would recommend this company for anyone looking for solar or any electric work. Great company!

I had three Quiet Cool house fans and two attic fans installed. This is a first class operation. John was great to deal with in getting everything scheduled and answering my questions. DEC's pricing was competitive and exactly as quoted (no surprises at time of install). Justin and Chris were my install techs and were outstanding. Prompt, professional, knowledgeable and thorough is the best way to describe these guys. I really appreciated the fact that Justin is a perfectionist and treated my install as though he was doing it in his own residence. I will definitely use DEC again for my electrical needs...
After speaking with John I decided to hire DEC for a small/medium size job at my house. My electricians name was Justin. I was very happy and impressed with the work. Justin made sure to leave my house as clean as it was before he got there. I was also happy to learn that Justin was just as anal as I was in finding the right placement for different light fixtures. I will definitely be keeping DEC number handy for any future electrical work.
I was in an agreement with another Company to install a whole house fan however, I wasn't at peace about the quote. I went on line and discovered I was being grossly over charged. I called DEC at 7:15 pm and thankfully Rick picked up. He agreed I needed to get out of that contract. About a week later his crew installed 2 smaller fans that were better suited for my home. They crew was very pleasant, professional and were very considerate. They were neat and what little mess there was they cleaned up. The install was quick and not intrusive. I love my fans and my Mom just had DEC install 2 fans in her home too. She was also very pleased with the team and loves her fans as well! Go for it! ( =

I have done business with a multitude of companies in my lifetime, however, FEW compare with DEC electric. We recently had a solar system installed on our home in Menifee, and the staff at DEC were ALWAYS on time, DEC stated what they would accomplish, and accomplished what they said, on time, great communication, no mess, no fuss, and they continue to lookout for our best interests! John, Ron, Kyle and Lisa go above and beyond on a continual basis ensuring a trouble free completed job. Extremely fair pricing too! GREAT JOB DEC! My highest recommendation to anyone looking for a great, fairly priced, expedient electrical contractor to work with.
Two electricians showed up to fix my ceiling fan. They saw that the new replacement part that I had ordered from the manufacturer didn't match exactly and gave up and left. They spent more time charging me for the visit than trying to fix my fan. After they were gone I looked at the instructions that came with the replacement part and they clearly described how to re-wire the fan to use the new part since the original part was discontinued. I called Direct Electric back to see if they wanted to try again and no one ever returned my call. I hired another electrician who got my fan working. I'll give Direct Electric two stars instead of one because the electricians showed up on time and were very courteous. They probably would have done fine with a simpler job and they may have been able to get my fan working if they had chosen to call me back. But not wanting to finish the job cost them a better rating.
Recently had two Quiet Cool Fans installed by Direct Electric. I called them up, they gave me an estimate and a date and time to install the fans. They were on time, very professional, charged me exactly what the estimate was. We have a two story house and it has made a tremendous difference upstairs! I would recommend Direct Electric to anyone who is looking to purchase a whole house fan. Very easy to deal with. Betsy
