DIF Plumbing

Called DIF due to upstairs bathroom clogged sewer drains.  Ken immediately scheduled an appointment for the next morning.  Upon arriving they quickly proceeded to rotor the mainline four times, but to no avail.  If was decided that they would return the next day to scan the pipes with a camera.  Rather than charge us for the camera scan, Ken did more assessments and due to his expertise he calculated that the clog was located on the lower floor.  He was right!   He and his assistant, Stellios, proceeded to clear the clog, replace the metal pipe with PVA pipe and install a clean-out valve.  Everything is working great!  Already have plans to utilize his professional plumbing expertise on a future endeavor.  Highly recommend DIF for expertise, professionalism, excellent communication and two great personalities that made the situation tenable.

Ken's been helping me with plumbing since 2016 and is trustworthy, prompt, and flexible. I can text him if there's an issue with a rental property and he coordinates directly with the tenant and can be trusted to do the right thing with the repairs without any oversight. He's come to the house to give me advice on several occasions. I give him a two thumbs-up and 5 stars!

we had a broken old pipe that finally decided to burst in the middle of the night. It was just a headache, dealing with this in the middle of the night, having to work the following day it was just too much, it got us off guard. Good thing you can still find decent plumbers in LB. So we call DIF & right away they showed up. Wearing protective gear & ready to work. It took the plumber no more than an hour to get it fixed & we're so glad he did otherwise we wouldn't have not known what to do. Thank you DIF, a 5 star review well deserved it....

I am writing this update because it's been about 4 years and I still use these guys whenever I have a plumbing problem.  The recently came out to clear a drain and fix the trap under the sink. They did it same day and a great job. In and out, no hassle, fair pricing. Thanks DIF!

Great guy. I was asking for plumbers on Next Door and DIF was recommended by quite a few neighbors. I have had him out 3 times now. The first time my Hot Water Heater went out. This guy found out there was a recall on my heating unit that lights the furnace and helped me get it fixed for free. Another plumber wanted $1200 to replace and install it! I now have new toilet intakes, sinks repaired , washer machine lines moved and hooked up.  Very satisfied.

DIF Plumbing has been my plumber for over ten years. I would never use anyone else. His service and response time has always been excellent. Switched out my (stupid) electric water heater for a gas one. Did a fantastic job for a great price, and I am saving soooo much money on my electric bill now!!

I've had Ken as our plumber for the last 8 years. Today he replaced a valve on a shower that made it impossible to turn off without shutting the water off to the house. I also had him replace our 40 year old toilet with a new water efficient Kohler. As usual, the workmanship was great and we are very happy with the results. In the past he did leak detection and re-routed plumbing and replaced a hot water heater in addition to any other requests we have had. I highly recommend DIF Plumbing and Ken in particular.

I was having a backup in the washing machine drain.  It only occured near the end of the drain cycle, then would backup and gush out the drain pipe.  I found out about Ken and his company, found out they were very local and were very familiar with the drains of these particular houses.
Ken and his partner came on time, I described the problem and then went to work snaking out the drain from the outside of the house.  They did it twice, didn't feel much blockage  and didn't pull any roots or material out.  They then checked the drain by sticking a garden hose in the drain and turning the water on.  After a few minutes, you could hear the water start to back up.  They then snaked again, (I think to the full extent of their machine).   They did the hose test again and no back up.  I reserved judgment until I did about 6 loads of laundry over a couple of day, with no problems!
So, to sum it up, Ken came on time according to our appointment, worked very professionaly and checked their own work.  Kept the work area clean.
I highly recommend DIF!    Oh, and the charge for the work was very reasonable!!

Another customer for life. I had my hot water replaced. They returned my initial call quickly, came out that day, explained my options and started the work. I'm the curious sort so they graciously answered my questions as they were going along. Full replacement done very quickly and re-routed the drainage to prevent water flow from running down the wall in case of future problems, which I don't anticipate within the lifetime of the hot water heater.

I recently needed some small plumbing problems fixed. I used DIF Plumbing once before and was very satisfied with their work and service.
The plumber was able to come out the same day I called. He had both parts I needed in  his truck. He fixed a problem with the bathroom sink stopper and the bathtub faucet. I thought I would have to buy a new faucet part for my kitchen but he advised me to check with Kohler. Even though the faucet was over 10 years old they sent me a new part free.
Their prices are fair, their work is excellent, they clean up after themselves and they are courteous and professional.
I would recommend them for your plumbing problems.

These guys are great. A little too great, perhaps, since they were too booked on a Saturday to come snake our shower drain. Monday was their next availability, so I called Roto Hero to do it. They were not as booked and came out a few hours later, but weren't able to unclog the drain. The guy was here for an hour snaking the tub drain before taking a look under the house. He said that our pipes were too old and were completely clogged. We needed a re-drain, and it would cost between 7 and 11 thousand dollars. As luck would have it he did side jobs and could cut us a deal, doing it for $3-5k.

Instead, we called DIF back and asked if Monday was still open. It was, so they came out and had the drain cleaned out 15 minutes later. Turns out the pipes were fine.

Thanks so much, DIF. We'll never call another plumber again, I promise.

Ken is amazing. We had a major plumbing issue when we had guests staying with us. He came out within a couple of hours, got it fixed and helped us identify the culprit--a tree root!

Fabulous! After an midnight emergency call with Roto-Rooter when the bathtub drain overflowed into the living room, we were told that the roots of the tree in the front yard meant that the sewer pipes to the street needed replacing the tune of $6800. RR was fine for the midnight emergency call as we didn't know who to call. But when the same drains clogged again two weeks later we started to believe the RR guys about the roots. But who can afford $6800! We found Ken through Nextdoor and he came out with his camera and did some scoping and saw the roots but suggested a more cost effective repair. His bill was $1800 for taking out the pipe, root and repipe. Very trustworthy and bills for exactly what needs to be done.

Ken is an amazing plumber who provides fantastic and prompt service. We've used him a couple times and both experiences have been stellar!  You can't go wrong with Ken!

As long as Ken at DFI Plumbing is around, I will never call another plumbing professional for any work needed to my Long Beach home built in 1941.

It started with Home Depot delivering a newly purchased gas clothes dryer and informing me that they couldn't install it because my home's gas valve needed replacement. I found DFI on Angie's List, and called based on amazing reviews. Ken answered my call immediately and arrived the same day to give me a quote. While he was here, I also asked for a quote on replacing/repairing a few odds and ends that I had been putting off. Next thing you know, Ken tells me he can arrive the next day, Saturday morning of Labor Day weekend, to replace the gas valve and install the new dryer. I did not ask, nor would have ever expected him to return so quickly and on a holiday weekend, but he said he didn't want me to have to go to the laundromat as I had done since my old dryer bit the dust a week earlier. We scheduled the rest of the work to be done a few days later.

Ken explained what needed to be done without talking down to me or over my head (I didn't even know what a gas valve looked like prior to our interaction), gave me a solid quote for the work, was extremely professional, and I felt very comfortable hiring his expertise almost immediately. It was likely one of the smaller jobs for him, but he certainly didn't treat it - or me - as such. He and his coworker even showed up ten minutes early. Hello!!! I do not live in a really nice house, but they treated it as though I did, keeping everything very clean. Most importantly, I don't worry about the gas feed to the dryer, my leaky faucets are fixed or replaced, and I'm moved enough from this very positive experience to write a review.

Wonderfully professional. Had to replace very old water heater. Price was reasonable, he was timely and fixed a few small issues to make sure everything would meet today's codes.

I had a gas leak in my heater and Ken was recommended by a good friend. I was in tears and scared because my gas was turned off. I called Ken at about 9:30 pm and explained my situation. He was so kind. He said he would be right over in the morning. Ken arrived on time the next morning and got the job done in about an hour. When the gas man came to inspect my gas line for reconnection, he even complimented Ken's work and said he could tell that the plumber did a very thorough and proper inspection and repair. Ken is very professional, kind and honest. His prices are very fair. I am very thankful for Ken and his crew. I will be using him for any future plumbing issues. I cannot believe I have never left a review for DIF. I have been relying on and trusting Ken for YEARS. My old house has a lot of issues due to age and poor construction. I have trusted and relied on Ken for at least a decade, after getting recommended by my neighbors.

I first found DIF Plumbing through Angie's List in 2011.  I called DIF to snake a drain and a plumbing relationship was born!  Since that minor repair 5 years ago, I have called on them many times for projects both small and large.

Ken and his assistant Stelly just completed a full upgrade of all pipes - including drainage - running to and from my house, water heater and laundry area in the garage.

I am planning a major patio renovation which will involve re-paving over most of these pipes and I wanted to make sure they were in the best possible condition.

Ken thought through all of the issues before beginning work and carefully explained the process.  Once he got going, the work was finished in a timely manner and he even went above and beyond, fixing some unforeseen problems without charging me extra.

I have utter confidence that the work will last decades!

DIF Plumbers placed electric snake in our new (7 yr old) Kohler porcelain tub for a clogged drain. Drain was cleared - we thought all was ok,.....EXCEPT___ After a few weeks we cleaned the tub and noticed several very thin hairline stress cracks in the porcelain tub from the vibration/pressure of the snake.

 So, if that wasnt enough damage,  their large clean-out machine /snake was placed on our flagstone patio and leaked oil, staining several stones on our walkway.   We did not notice right away and have been attempting to clean oil stained flagstones (set in concrete).  Likely permanent damage.  

Be VERY careful with these guys.  Watch their equipment and question everything.
