Slab leak....found it within the 2 hour time frame ($240). Very professional and knowledgable. Extreme work ethic as the technician crawled through a small vent to locate the supply line, after he had found the arwa of the leak, just to make it easier for the plumber. Technician even cleaned up the mess he made from cutting holes. Highly recommend!

I had a bathroom leak somewhere behind shower tile wall and had another leak detection company come out and they were unable to locate it. CPL leak detector Mark spent three hours here exploring all possibilities including flooding the outside yard, watering the roof and checking in attic, putting a video camera through a cut out of wall above shower.  He was able to locate leak behind shower wall related to hot water valve. My insurance company was satisfied with his work and proceeded with my claim. He came out immediately on a Friday afternoon and worked until he found it. He was professional, explained everything and was a pleasure to work with. Highly recommend this company, call them first!

Awesome company!  Called because our water company told me that we had a leak after I called to ask why my water bill was $350?  Same day service and our Tech, Jake was very honest and helpful.  Not only did he see that we didn't have a leak after his 3 tests that he did on our water pipes, he found that our meter was rocking forward and backward!  He helped me video the meter movement and wrote up his report! He put our mi do to ease and then, with the video, our water company refunded me the entire amount of money that I paid CPL!  You are being foolish if you don't call this company!  Hopefully I don't need them again, but if I do, I will be calling them!

We found water on ground and our plumber recommended CPL to find leak. They sent a tech and he spent nearly 3 hours and unable to locate leak. He said the company will send a senior technician next day to check. A senior rep-Ozzie came in and found leak almost right away after spotting water marks on part drywall. Inexcusable why their first guy failed to see something obvious. And then CPL office charged me again for 2nd visit on top of the first visit. I feel this was a result of an inexperience tech. If CPL had sent Ozzie out the first time, everything would have been fine and I would have given them 5 stars and recommended them to friends. I wanted to praise company and wasn't expecting them to charge me again for 2nd attempt to find locate leak.  This is not good business practice. Beware. A company should stand by their work and train their tech better.

****This is response to the owner's reply:
1) They said first tech did find leak (Of course there was leaking because the floor was covered with water). Second tech found source of leak by seeing the drywall was wet, something the first person failed to noticed.
2) They said it was standard in business to charge 'continuation' fee. (Not true. The plumber who recommended CPL told me later that they should not have charged me for 2nd visit. In fact their 2nd tech said company would probably not charge me for his visit. But they did anyways. Save yourself the hassle and money and look elsewhere.

The making of appt. was good and through. Got all information needed before the technician came. The technician came on time and was finished before allotted time to be done. I cannot say enough good things about this company.  I had a major fresh water leak in the front of my house.  Plumber came out and said it wasn't my problem.  Otay Water came out and said it was.  Plumber came back (new guy) and said, yes it was my problem.  Called CPL and they were totally booked and wouldn't get around to me for over a day.  Said they would put me on a waiting list in case there was a cancellation, etc.  Received a call the next day and they were able to come out.  Jake had the leak located within an hour.  He took the time to explain to me what needed to be done and about how long it would take to repair.  A very professional company with great employees.

John from CPL was able to detect a pinpoint leak in the wall behind my refrigerator (that had already caused a great deal of damage) that an appliance repairman and plumber could not. At first I thought it was a dishwasher leak, but the appliance repairman quickly ruled that out. Then my plumber thought it might be a slab leak, but told me to call CPL. I immediately agreed because a good friend who had a very hard-to-diagnose leak had a great experience with CPL. John from CPL methodically did his work and found the leak in a wall that was not where the water was actually coming out. John was very professional and asked me to call my plumber so he could explain what he had found, to help the plumber to know what to expect in order to repair the leak quickly and properly.

The process was so easy and seamless. We scheduled for a next-day appointment, they showed up right on time, understood our issue, and literally found the leak on first try! On his first dig, the leak was right there. He gave us great direction on how to fix it and was so incredibly nice.

Great service and excellent recovery. Some fence builder had poured cement in a sewer drain and our great tech Mark was able to detect it right away. Would use CPL again in a heartbeat. Can't say too much for this company!

AWESOME!!!  Steve and Scott showed up on time and found my leak first thing so now I can have my gardener fix it.  I am so happy!  Paying their finder's fee was a great investment so I won't have to pay another sky high water bill or turn the water on and off when we need a drink or a flush!

CPL was very professional and wonderful to deal with for our challenging project- we own a unit in a high rise and our low voltage wiring running from our unit to our AC/Heat unit on the roof broke in an unknown location between our unit and the roof.  We needed a company that specialized in low voltage wiring to assist in finding the break and fix the conduit wiring. I called several electricians and finally was recommended to CPL to utilize a toner.  Mark was so courteous and informative with the project.  I highly recommend CPL for both residential and commercial needs.

They came out twice and both times misdiagnosed our problem.  I paid for the first visit and refused to pay for the second.  I'm glad I didn't pay for the second.  With their second diagnosis we hired a plumber who came and cut many holes in our walls, only to discover that the leak was in another line.  Now I get to pay a plumber for two different jobs and a painter to patch up the holes in my walls.  I cannot afford CPL's incompetence.....I doubt anyone else could either.

I cannot say enough good things about Jason and the company.  I live in an apartment and we haven't had hot water in two days.  A slab leak was suspected so Jason was on the scene to investigate.  He was extremely thorough, but most importantly he obviously cares about the people he has to deal with on the job. Checking 5 apartments and even worrying about peoples pets. Thank you so much for quickly finding the issue!

This company was called out by the HOA of the condo complex we own in to find a water leak that was come down to our first floor unit. Took these guys 3 hours to find it and the cut five holes in the walls ceiling and back of the vanity in the bathroom, what really was so unnecessary, stupid and completely ignorant was they cut the back of the vanity right where rail was for the top drawer, this was so irritating and completely unnecessary when there was the other places to cut out, turns out the leak was in the ceiling so hacking into the vanity should have been a last resort location of investigation! I feel like this company should have been able to find the leak sooner and with much less damage! I would personally fire the idiot that cut into the back of the vanity affecting the top drawer as it was so completely unnecessary and caused the most damage. So I would not allow this company to work at my property in the future.

I was referred to CPL from a friend who is a plumber.  We could smell gas in our backyard but the smell was always in a place where there was no gas equipment.  

I was initially shocked by the $250 minimum, but trusted the guy who recommended them.  CPL came out and found that we had 2 gas leaks underground.  One was under our pool deck and the other was under the grass.  The guy was awesome and even marked exactly where the gas lines were around my house so I would know for the future.  I had gas lines in places I would have never guessed, even in planters with huge palm trees.

Fast, reliable, and efficient service! The technician was very courteous and friendly.  I can't remember his name but his initials are SA.  I couldn't believe how quickly he was able to locate a major cold water line slab leak.  He even called my plumber and explained what he found and how he marked the flooring showing the direction of the pipes involved.  Thank you CPL!  Your prices are fair and reasonable.  I highly recommend your services!!

I was first impressed by how the customer service was,  spot on. But when the technician arrived he could not locate the water leak under the new concrete driveway.  Under the house water is causing a much flow. The pipe runs next to this area and there is no visible drop in water pressure.  We blocked out 2 hours for $350 and each additional hour is $200. When they could not locate,  he wanted to come back..starting with the 350. Rate again,  then do more testing.  I spent $350 for basically nothing.  It seems like they were more interested in running up the bill than a 8 foot area where the pipe is. Im disappointed when they say we can tell you where the leak is, but they didn't.

We've had to call CPL a couple of times to detect leaks in our rental properties. They have been timely and friendly each time. The manager, Joey, was also responsive and helpful when we asked a leak detector to come back out to confirm the leak detection by taking care of an extra charge for us. Don't waste your time with this company if you have a large property with acreage. We have a 5 acre property and wasted over $1000 just to have CPL tell us they can't find anything because they lose the sound due to the size of our property. First they tell us we have faulty irrigation so we have to fix that before they can do an accurate inspection so we pay them hundreds of dollars. Then we fix the irrigation and they tell us they still can't find it because because their equipment doesn't detect anything but it could be due to the tremendous lengths of the pipes. I can't believe this is what this company does for a living and they don't have the latest technology. My husband and I have given them other business in the past and even referred family for smaller houses with leak issues. With this last experience, it left a really bad impression. I know they don't guarantee they will find a leak but to charge a customer $1000 and provide no answers is just bad business. I also find it very telling that the lady in charge of business customer service only responds to the positive reviews. Very telling......

I don't know why the reviews are so bad.  They were great to me.  We had a leak under our driveway on a Saturday.  We called plumber after plumber, all who were busy.  Finally found one available at a big plumbing business who said we'd need a leak detector first, but was only able to find someone to come out the next day.  I didn't want to wait, so I called CPL directly.  They called me right back and said their earliest was the next day as well, so I booked them.  

The guy called when he was 1/2 hour out, which was well within the time slot.  When he got to my house, he was really friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient.  He found the leak within an hour and then even helped the plumber and my husband with removing the pavers and digging.  

We had him out on a Sunday, so had to pay double time and had a two hour minimum, but it was worth it to us.  We wanted to turn the water back on as soon as possible, and with CPL pinpointing the leak for us, we were able to dig up the area we needed and get the line patched.  I recommend them to anyone who needs a leak detector.

I will never recc'md this business! Steve came out and estimated where our hot water leak ran under our dining room floor, but was not exactly sure, Steve later came back thinking it was probably under our kitchen side. He told our insurance adjuster who happened to come by, that the leak was under our slab and was leaking for a while-WRONG ON BOTH COUNTS! Our plumber is jack hammering our diningroom floors right now-expensive, 50 yr. hard wood planks, trying to find and repair the problem. We've had NO HOT WATER FOR 3 WEEKS!! AND insurance won't cover the damage (pipes under foundations are considered an outside water source). The pipes are actually WITH-IN the cement foundation and the leak was only running for a day, as our neighbor saw water and turned it off at the street when we were out of town a few days. Steve's ill informed, premature comment to the adjuster cost us financially and physically because I'm severely disabled, on dialysis and w/o water or hot water for weeks and without insurance assistance. I WANT MY MONEY BACK!

Great service ! Called them for locating a slab leak. They were able to dispatch someone within hours. Mike came out and identified the leak promptly. He was able to let me know where my line ran and gave me a few pointers for how it could get fixed. Very nice guy and courteous.

WOW, their customer service is HORRIFIC!   I left a message yesterday (after 5) and sent an email message off their website for a return call, pretty much expecting a return call within the first hour of their office opening.  NOTHING.  Called them, and they are booking for the next day.  Since we are without water asked if they could refer to someone who might be able to take us same day (yes I am aware they don't want to lose business, but truthfully it doesn't hurt to help people) and she promptly said No, I can't help you with that.  Work your return calls people.  Snide service brings you nothing.

We have used the CPL company twice and we had pleasant experiences with them before so when we got an extremely high water bill again from our landscaping, we called CPL and made an appointment.

When the leak detection technician showed up, he spent ~40 minutes to check around. Then there were very loud noise from our neighbor's house because of their remodel project. The technician told us it's too loud for him to hear any leak so he would have to come back another day to check. Although he only spent ~40 mins he insisted to charge us the full price of $260 and told us it will be free of charge for the 1 hr and 20 mins next time he comes back again. So we trusted him and paid the full amount. He also told us to leave our irrigation intake valve open so the areas around the leak would be wet, which would greatly help him with detecting the leak (in our previous two incidents we were never told to do so).  

So we let the leak go on for 3 days and called him back. He spend ~ 1 hr checking and told us that he had found and painted the area which might have the leak.  Then he told us we would have to pay an additional $99 for his 2nd trip. We were unhappy because he told us it would be free. He insisted that his company charges $99 for repeated trips. I called his company and said we were never told the 2nd trip will be charged for an additional $99 and we were made to believe it would be free. And had we known this, we could have told our neighbor to hold their remodel project for an hour so the detection job could have been done in his first trip.

The company was cool and waived the $99 for us. But after the technician left our house, we found we had no hot water. I called the technician's cell phone twice but he wouldn't answer my call. We later found out that our water heater's water intake valve was turned off. He could have told us about it but did not bother to.

1. CPL sent Mark to find the leak I thought I had. He was awesome! He found I did not have a leak, was courteous, kind and very professional.
When the leak was located in the common area outside my property he stayed and made sure the other company found the pipe! Way above expectations!!

2. Theresa helped me with a billing issue. She was very happy to help solve the issue. Very professional, courteous and understanding. She called me back in a short time after I left a message and was able to find & correct the error. All companies need customer service reps like her!!

They found my irrigation/main water line leak in about 5 minutes, pinpointed it to within a foot. This helped me avoid digging up the entire landscape to locate it. Reasonable price. Overall, it saved me a lot of time, money and headache.

On 3/6/20, we had CPL come to our house to determine the source of a major leak in our irrigation system. What made it difficult was that the leak was somewhere in a slope. Justin came out and finally pinpointed the location. He dug a hole and there was the water and irrigation pipe. Our landscape crew came out, excavated the hole and repaired the irrigation water main. Justin was a great guy to work with and recommend anyone with a leak issue to contact CPL!

I was told by plumber we may have a slab leak and hence called CPL to determine if we really had a leak and determine the exact location of the leak below slab.
The person on phone was very courteous and after properly understanding the service I am calling for, she efficiently and quickly scheduled a convenient appointment with technician.  I was told there is a minimum of 2 hours charge, which I agreed.

Jose was the technician who came right on time and was very courteous too and friendly.  He started right away and explained me every step of the way what he was doing.  He located the leak and put proper marker on leak area as well as pipe layout as well as provided a report later which was quite helpful to the plumber.  The plumbing company saw the markers and report and said very nice things about work done by CPL.

As agreed, I had to pay minimum of 2 hours, but Jose did a thorough detection and used all of 2 hours and I did not had to pay anything extra after he was done.  He in fact also provided some expert advice and guidance as well for repair of leak and plumbing issues in other part of the house.  Jose was very knowledgeable.

I would definitely recommend Jose as well as CPL for detection of any slab leak or any plumbing leak.  Trustworthy, honest, reliable and reasonable.

Prompt scheduling, good communication, and a skilled technician who identified the problem. Ozzie figured out that the leak originated outside of the house, from condensation dripping into a bathroom window frame. I was relieved to know that the pipes are fine. During testing, he also found a minor, unrelated problem with a bathtub drain that's not an urgent fix. But it's good to put that on the list for the next time I need to call my plumber. (My plumber actually recommended CPL--I had called him first,)
CPL was solid. I found them honest and focused on the job, not trying to sell more to the customer, as so many companies do. I would definitely call them again.

This was my first time using CPL.  I feel compelled to write this review.  From my phone call to request service to the departure of the technician from my home, I was impressed with the attention and service received.  The technician, Mark Coats, is to be commended for his integrity, technical skills and conscientious mind set.  He has superb customer service and carry through.  I cant say enough about how pleasant the encounter was and when he departed I felt as though he had informed me sufficiently such that I could go forward with the knowledge I needed to have the problem corrected.   Thank you.

CPL. was suggested by both my gardener and a plumber. I called after 9:00 pm and a technician was out at 8:30 a.m. Sharp. He found the leak in less than one hour saying, It is where the copper pipe joins the PVC. It is deep. I handed a thin steel rod to him and he slid it down in the soil exactly at the joint of the pipes. The excavation was narrow and exactly on the spot where he was proven correct.

If I could give them less than one star I would.  
I called to schedule an appointment to locate a leak in our backyard.  Melisa was very friendly on the phone (which is the only reason they're getting one star).  
She advised that that she would call me back later that day because their email was down.  She called me back at 5:07 in the evening to let me know that if I could stay home between 10AM and 3PM that they would have someone out and the tech would give me a call on the way.  Nobody ever called and nobody showed up by 3 so I called them.  They were completely unapologetic and the person I spoke with Joe spent 5 minutes ranting about how incompetent his dispatchers were.   I found that so incredibly rude and when I asked to speak to his manager, he informed me that he was the manager.  YIKES!!   He was rude not just to me ... and did he really think It was okay to thrown his own employees under the bus?   Not what your customers want to hear manager Joe.  Because he was rude and unapologetic , we called San Diego Leak Detection. Darrel found the leak and his pricing was WAY better.   I think CPL needs to send their managers to customer service boot camp!

Steven Ancira is my hero!  We had a slab leak in one of our properties, and he came to our rescue on the same day that we called CPL. Very professional. Knowledgeable. Excellent communication skills. Not only does Steven really like his job, but he made every effort to help us understand the problem and the options for remediation. He gave us the kind of information needed our plumber to re-route the water pipes the very next day. My first yelp review and I'm doing it because I think they deserve it.  Having a slab leak is not exactly a fun experience.  Someone recommended CPL and I have to say I was incredibly happy with their service, talking me through everything, the education and effort.  The tech (JC) found the leak, mapped the loops, told me everything I needed to know for the plumbers and honestly couldn't have done more.   As customer service seems to be a dying art, it was nice to have someone who genuinely wanted to help.   Making a crappy situation good, can't ask for more, no pun intended.

We had a leak and Chris came out to our house in a timely manner.   He was thorough and knowledgeable. Chris found where he suspected the leak was and even took the time to confirm it before leaving.  He also was helpful in giving us some advice.  It was the hot water pipe and told us we only had to turn that pipe off not all the water to the house.  Maybe most people would know that but we didn't and would be without water until the plumbers could get here if Chris didn't mention it to us.  I highly recommend CPL and Chris is as good as they come.

Professional, prompt, polite and found our water leak under our concrete driveway dead on!  He was exactly correct that the leak was where the main line connected to the house copper pipe. We detected signs of water under our wood floor.  We were given the name of CPL so gave them a call.  We told him what we had discovered and within minutes he determined it was
a slab leak and went right to the spot.  It just took a couple minutes to determine which pipe
it was.  The plumber was there within a day and it was fixed.  Very happy with CPL and would
definitely recommend.

We noticed an increase in our water bill and it looked like a leak in our service line.  Tried our current plumber and they couldn't find it, they recommended CPL.  A good friend had already told me about CPL and said they came recommended by USAA which is also our insurance company.  I gave them a call and was pleasantly surprised how well their process was described and how it was priced.  They came the same day.  

Steven A was very professional, explained his approach, went to work and found the leak in less than two hours. He marked it on the pavement with chalk in a square that was less than 2 feet by 18 inches.  It was fixed today and Steven nailed it...still feels more like art and magic which is what a trained professional like Steven brings when you have great technology and even better experience.  Thank you Steven A and thank you CPL!

My company was having issues with suddenly large water bills and we had to figure out what was going on. We were recommended CPL. The guy they sent out was thorough and played detective-eliminating the feared slab leak before narrowing it down to the probability of landscape/sprinkler system leak. (it was) He (I'm sorry I've forgotten his name) was very professional and willingly explained what he was doing and what he was reasonably sure was the issue. Would definitely recommend them and will use them again, if (I hope not) we have another problem.

I wanted to thank your company for two amazing young men that helped me out on January 16th, 2023. It was frustrating to receive a call from the water district informing me that my usage went up and my new bill will be 6 times higher. They recommended I call someone that could detect a leak. My plumber recommended CPL and I wanted to let you know how impressed I was with the team. Mark Coats was amazing. First, he introduced himself clearly and assured me that they were going to help figure out the issue. He was so kind and professional. Mark was training Daylin (not sure on spelling) who also was so caring and helpful. Both men went to work right away. After identifying the area of the leak, they made sure everything was turned back on. Both Daylin and Mark knew their job, were so professional explaining things as they worked, rechecked their work, and even when training, Mark made sure the job was getting done. I'll add that due to my health issues I needed to be careful being around people and both men were so respectful wearing masks even when outdoors. My plumber also said the team did a great job identifying the leak. You hope that this is once in a life time need, but I will never hesitate to recommend CPL or call Mark again if I need help.

I do not recommend this company.  Beware that they have a clause that says they can be wrong in the location of the leak and have no responsibility for it! CPL came out to our house early July 2022, found and marked the leak in the kitchen. The plumber came out and jack hammered our kitchen floor, but no pipe or leak found. 5-6 feet behind the kitchen wall (living area) was the leak the plumber determine after 8+ hrs of trouble shooting/digging in the kitchen. The plumber jack hammered that area, found the leak  quickly, repaired it, cemented both holes in the kitchen and living area,  charged us an extra $600 (with military discount) for the work. CPL will refund us their cost of $290.00 but takes no responsibility for the tile work we have to replace in our kitchen or the extra $600 we had to pay. A 13 hour job, could have only took 4 hours. Plumbers left at 2:30am exhausted.

Appointment was right on time. Which was great news to us cause we needed someone asap to come out.  Our technician Bryson was awesome!

Well, this was the best $250 I ever spent!  After calling 5 companies early evening yesterday, CPL responded right away, and sent out 2 guys first thing this morning.  Didn't even hear back from 3 of the other companies.  I was alerted by Otay Water that I had a leak and after a irrigation guy tried for two afternoons to find it, I finally hired the pros.  

Steven Ancira and Jason Carper from CPI arrived dressed and equipped for the hour-plus digging it took them to finally find the leak (under my entryway sidewalk).  These guys were so nice, so professional, and so skilled I actually look forward to the fix part of the job.  (They don't do the fixes, conflict of interest they say).  Their leak detection equipment is amazing, their bedside manner VERY courteous, and their knowledge and skill very obvious.  I stayed outside with them the whole time, and they weren't at all annoyed by my presence, and actually added more explanations about what they were doing, very helpful.  

Finally, once the leak was located, Steven gave me two different solutions and explained why he recommended extending the copper line out to the water main vs. fixing the leak in the old pvc piping.  I can't say enough nice things about these two guys, who by the way, are going to be sore tonite from all the mud shoveling they had to do!  THANKS CPL!  And thanks to Steve and Jason, who deserve a big fat raise in my humble opinion.  They represent your company at an A+ level.

We just purchased a house and discovered a slab leak. Most plumbing companies do not do leak detection. We went with CPL because that is all they do. They have no reason to steer you wrong when they are showing you exactly what pipes underground need to be replaced. Jacob came out and found the line with his fancy equipment. Even stayed a few minutes to show me other places in my slab where the lines run. I would recommend Jacob to everyone and CPL as well. Great job!

Had a pinhole leak in a wall of course on Saturday night.  Had to pay double for him to come out Sunday am.  He found it right away but then had to get a plumber to fix.  They got a lot of money for making a call that lasted not even 10 minutes!

Super easy to schedule. Tech that came out was on time, nice and knowledgable. Altogether a 100% positive experience until 6 months later. I got a call from their office demanding a call back by the end of business or else it's going to collections That's all fine and dandy if I owed them but I paid on the spot back in January. Calling the office the next day she says oh yea theres the American Express payment Billing errors happen but the combative and threatening voicemail I could do without.

It took two visits to finally detect the source of the leaks. The first visit I wasn't super impressed, as they blamed it on a toilet, which I knew wasn't the main leak. But the follow up visit was very thorough, plus they mapped out all of the pipes under the slab (luckily that wasn't the source). I had some follow up questions after the tech left the second time and he called me right back and answered all questions. Unfortunately there was a charge for both visits. Just be aware that follow up visits are just as expensive as the first.....

Our last two water bills were unusually high with no signs of a leak anywhere. We decided to hire CPL to find it. They sent Mike who was very friendly and super helpful.  He even helped dig and we found the leak on the spot! The leak was located in the service line from the street to the house. Nobody likes to makes a call because of suspected leak,  but CPL was prompt, efficient, explained everything and charged a fair price. Jose Chacon did a great job and, although I hope I never have to deal with this again, if I do I'll be calling CPL.Let me also add the Eastern Municipal Water District did a great job by sending us an email when they noticed our water meter was running 24 hours a day.

When I made my appointment with the office girl on the phone she was asking questions about what kind of leak detection we needed, like whether it was fresh water or sewage. Our problem is with the kitchen sink which gets fresh water so that's what I told her. The technician comes out & said he wasn't equipped to do a camera probe which was apparently what we needed. So he apologized and left. Then the girl from their office called & said we owed them $125 service fee for the guy to come out to my house just to tell me he couldn't help me?! She was not nice at all, it was like sorry, you still have to pay! They sent their guy back to my front door asking for payment! I felt totally taken advantage of and ripped off!! They need to explain a lot better and be more specific in what services they provide. I am not a plumber, I do not know all of the terminology. They could have at least warned me of a service call charge!

The BEST! Without water for most of 2 days due to a previously undiscovered leak in main waterline. I called CPL in the morning and by late afternoon a technician was working to trace the leak - and succeeded, saving me lots of inconvenience not to mention a water bill that approached $600 for one month! Plumbing pros recommend CPL for leak detection for a reason: they are the best.

I talked to at least four top-rated plumbing companies in the area and every single one recommended CPL and no one else to come in to do leak detection before they would begin plumbing repairs for my house's underground slab leak.

CPL was able to schedule an appointment for me with quick turnaround, less than 24 hours. I was told the fee would be flat $230 for a maximum of two hours of work finding the leak. The guys arrived on time and worked diligently for almost the full two hours. They were able to pinpoint the location of a slab leak I've had in my house over the past few weeks. They were careful with the furniture and asked permission to access each room. They were also kind to my pets. They marked up with painter's tape the path that the underground pipe takes underneath the house as well as the piping manifold locations, which are nice references for the plumbers to do their repairs. Total cost was $230, which is what I had been quoted over the phone. Payment was done through a smartphone with credit card - super easy. Thank you very much!

I noticed on the Saturday before Christmas (Wed) while mowing my lawn, I has some puddling in one area. I have an emergency shut-off for my sprinklers, so I shut that off, thinking I had a sprinkler issue (which I had not been running because of recent rain).  When the puddling remained through the weekend, I knew I had a bigger issue. I highly recommended plumbing company came out at 8am Tuesday (Christmas Eve day).  It had rained Monday and was forecasted for Tuesday. The plumber explained and showed me it was a pretty significant leak, but advised I needed a leak detection company to locate the leak so he could repair it.  Again, it's Christmas Eve day and I have 20 family members coming for Christmas the next day. No way is this problem getting taken care of before Christmas, right? He recommended I call CPL for the leak detection. Mark was out within two hours, and by noon the same day, he was able to locate the leak. He was so quick, I was able to get back to the plumbing company quick enough that the same plumber was able to come back the same day to repair the leak. It was a Christmas Miracle.

Not only did Mark to a great job in locating the leak, he stayed at my house and dug a whole around the leak to make it easier for the plumber to do the repair once he arrived back. It was a wet, muddy job. Mark was still at my house when the plumber arrived and they worked together for a bit. When cutting the hole initially, Mark cut a clean piece of sod and set it aside on a trash bag. It was later placed back on the hole, once filled with new soil.  Mark stuck around after the plumber took over and helped me (I didn't request he do this) clear the displaced mud from the yard to trash cans.  Great to experience such incredible customer service and integrity. Mark was stellar.

My plumber saw we were working with CPL for the leak detection and he immediately said we were lucky and we were in good hands.  Jose was amazing.  He expertly figured out the location of our slab leak within the hour.  He was honest, and friendly, and stuck around to make sure the testing completed by our plumber panned out.  We had a cold water slab leak to an island that could have been expensive if handled inappropriately, but CPL's expertise got us a repair that resulted in a total bill well under $1000.  We are very happy!!!!

I would definitely recommend CPL.  My experience with CPL was outstanding.  Having to deal with companies on a daily basis for either work or for personal reasons, CPL was, as others have stated, a breath of fresh air.

I called to schedule an appointment with CPL and Theresa was very friendly, clear of the cost and accommodating in selecting a time window.

I was also very pleased that Ruth called hours before the appointment rather than waiting until the time of my appointment, which I've experienced with other companies, to inform me that one of their technicians was out sick.  They gave me a couple of choices:  they could slip me in a little later, with a guaranteed time window, when one of their technicians became freed up or reschedule for another day.  I opted to wait and it turned out their technician became freed up and so I didn't have to wait much past my original time window.

Jason performed my leak detection and he was awesome!  He was extremely professional, methodical and polite.  He listened to me explain the issue as I understood it and began diagnosing the leak and located it in the slab which was confirmed by his instruments and the fact that the slab was warm right in the area he identified.  Pretty amazing feat considering he had to find a pipe buried in concrete without any blueprints or building designs.  I understand they have instruments to assist them but having used circuit tracers and other such instrumentation it's still a daunting task.  I am inquisitive by nature and so had some questions that Jason was super good about answering.

I also have to say Jason was super good at calling me when I was off attending to something else to ask questions and point things out.  Totally appreciate the communication.  To top it off, my father always said take care of your things and they'll take care of you and Jason's truck and tools were very tidy.  I've seen some contractors trucks that were so full of things they couldn't find what they needed.  Jason's truck had a place for everything and everything in it's place.

I don't know if CPL will always be able to solve everyone's problems; however, they did a fantastic job on my problem and would recommend/use them again.  

Also, thanks to Courtesy Plumbing for recommending CPL.  I appreciate Courtesy Plumbing leaving the leak detection to experts and pointing me to CPL rather than trying to a be a one stop shop who does everything poorly.

We found some hot spots on our living room floor and since we've had several water leaks wanted it inspected.  Called CPL and spoke with MaryAnn and she sent Jason out.  They gave us a military discount, which I appreciated.  Jason arrived on time, wore booties over his shoes and a mask.  Thank God no leaks were found!  Glad we called because now we've got peace of mind.  I think anyone who is thinking of purchasing a home should pay the $250 for leak detection before closing escrow.

(1 plumber, 1 leak company, 1 irrigation specialist!!) he explained to me exactly how to fix it so I could get a plumber right away to do the repairs. CPL was fantastic.  I called them and they were able to come out the next afternoon.  They provided an estimate and the final cost was what they estimated - $240. They found the leak that no one else had been able to discover, using their heat detecting devices.  They worked with the plumber via phone calls to relay important details to the plumber who came out 3-4 days later to repair.  Would definitely use them again if I needed other services like this.

I discovered a slab leak this morning, called Maryann at CPL, and they were here by noon.  Their techs Aaron and John were fast, knowledgeable and they did great work.  They located the exact source of the leak, and also located the manifold so that repairs could easily be made.  They went over and above the call of duty by giving me recommendations for plumbers, and for giving me suggestions concerning the best fix.  These guys rock!!!

I certainly cannot recommend a company that I wasted $270 on.  

They spent about an hour at my home for $270. Like other reviewers, they misdiagnosed the leak location, causing multiple square holes to be cut through the driveway concrete. In fact the leak was right under the portion of the seam in the concrete where the water was leaking the fastest - not where they marked it. Unlike another review, when I called, they would not discount their price at all.

Be careful what you sign. They said it clearly stated in the contract that there was no guarantee they would properly locate the leak. I think I may have been misguided in signing the contract after they marked where the leak was. What I do recall is that I signed a blank ipad screen with my finger right after I gave them my credit card for payment. I was not told that I was signing a contract and I assumed my signature was only for the credit card payment. Only later I received an email contract with my ipad-finger signature on it.

I don't know if there was deception . . . you can decide for yourself about their business practices.

I received a call from a tenant at a property I manage saying that water was pooling in the backyard and running under the fence onto the neighbor's property.  I immediately called my plumber, but after an hour of searching, he was unable to find the source of the leak.  He shut off the water to the property and recommended I call CPL.

Jason and Trevor from CPL showed up the same day.  They were no nonsense and went straight to work.  Within an hour they had diagnosed a leak at an underground irrigation line.  They were able to find the isolated shut-off for the supply line to the irrigation so we were able to turn the water off to the irrigation system and resume the water supply to the house and my tenants.

I highly recommend Jason, Trevor and CPL.  They were able to quickly identify the leak that otherwise would have been undetectable.  Thanks so much for your professionalism and expertise!

We heard water running in one of our bathroom walls. Our plumber recommended we call Cable Pipe & Leak Detection. We called them and made an appointment. The office staff called to confirm our appointment with Steven A. Steven called when he was on his way and arrived on time. Steven started by locating all the water pipes in the floor and walls, then he started listening for the leak. He precisely located the leak and drew a circle on the spot on the floor. Steven was spot on. We had the leak repaired with minimal hassle. I am so glad we didn't start tearing into our walls; turns out the leak was 10-15 feet away from the noise we could hear in the bathroom walls (and in a pipe buried under our concrete slab)!  Bottom line: Steven was very professional, he did his job and he found the location of the leak! We could not be more pleased!

After getting an enormous increase in our monthly water bill, I called CPL after a recommendation from Pacific Drain.  Jeff came out the next day, on time, and immediately got to work looking for possible sources for a leak.  In less than 40 minutes, he had located the pipe, confirmed that it was indeed leaking, and used a convenient shut off valve to stop the waste.  It seemed that he was as happy I was that it wasn't more serious, but he checked around to make sure that he had narrowed down the location.  Polite, to the point and efficient.    I'm happy to give CPL four stars for a very positive experience.

Many folks on Next Door recommended CPL (Cable Pipe & Leak Detection) which I hired. Company was upfront about possibly not finding any leaks. Only after they spent hours investigating did they mention a very low probably of detecting leaks with Blue Poly-ethylene piping. (today I learned, so be prepared)

This is my 2nd detection company I've used (down $325 2nd time) and do feel like maybe I'm wasting time and money hiring companies like this to find root causes. Their recommendation was to go with an even more expensive route to use Helium instead of CO2 gas or replace the mainline completely to something like PVC or Copper.

Feeling frustrated. Guess I'll be reaching out to plumbers for quotes next...

I found Cable, Pipe and Leak Detection on line and gave them a try. I am glad I selected them. From the initial call to the representatives showing up to my home, it was pleasant. The two individuals who came out to the call, Alex and Stephen were courteous and professional and knew exactly what they were doing. When we had a leak in our kitchen, we called 3 plumbers and all 3 referred us to CPL. So we called CPL and they sent Donnie over. He was awesome, super enthusiastic and found the leak in 15 minutes. We were worried about a slab leak, and it fortunately turned out not to be one, but to be sure he checked the entire downstairs area and the slab to make sure there were no other leaks. Hopefully we never have to call CPL again, but if we have any evidence of a leak I know who to call!

Absolutely do not use CPL as your leak detector company. I own a restaurant and knew there was a leak on it. I call CPL, technician comes and expects the place, after 1 hr he supposedly finds the leak and mark an X where the leak suppose to be. I pay 279 dollars for that, ok no big of a deal. Next day my plumber comes, and start to
Make a hole in the ground and after 3 hrs of work he says that the leak was not where the CPL technician mark, but about 10 ft to the left. So of course, he had to charge me extra for the job. Next day, I call CPL to complain about their
Job, and the lady at the phone said that they were doing me a favor trying to
Find the leak... I didn't know favors had to be paid..  And that they wouldn't give my money back. use another company and not this one.. take my advice. I will never recommend this place to no one..

CPL was recommended to my by a good friend who owns a plumbing company. She advised me that they solely detect leaks. I was concerned as I sporadically heard a dripping noise inconsistently when running water in one of my bathrooms. We are in the process of selling our home and I wanted to make sure we had no surprises. The technician did not detect a leak. He went above and beyond to ensure he looked through every aspect of our home to ensure there was no moisture. Finally he consulted management and a contractor to confirm that the dripping noise I heard was actually just my pipes expanding and contracting due to water temperature. I so appreciated the thoroughness of their inspection and the report detailing their findings. It gave me such piece of mind knowing that I could confidently sell our home knowing they were meticulous in their inspection. I later found out they are well respected in the real estate industry. They make no additional money regardless of a leak detection or not.  Not only do I have piece of mind, but my potential buyers will have piece of mind as well.

CPL is professional and great at their work. I was getting very high water bills. After turning off house, irrigation, and pool water lines, the meter was still spinning like crazy. CPL (shout out to Jose) came out and within an hour found the exact spot of the leak. The leak was in the main water line under my driveway pavers. Since CPL's visit, I had the leak repaired and the leak was exactly where CPL marked the leak. There was no monkeying around with CPL. Jose was courteous and went right to work to identify the problem. Great company! Honest, on-time, and knowledgeable.

As multiple parties have indicated, the prices for their expertise are usurious (look it up).  I would also say they fail to delineate what will actually take place, in the sense that I thought the minimum they charged (~$250) would be a comprehensive assessment of my property, not just water pipes, but also drainage pipes.  Nope!...if you want that, with camera inspection, it's another $300.  Not an insurance job (yet), so it all comes out of my pocket.  I wasn't there at the time to see what the guy actually did, but my understanding was that it was less than 30 minutes.  Where can I find a gig like that?  Outrageous...will NEVER call these folks again.

Had a slab leak, found out that we needed the leak detection before we could get it fixed, hired CPL...universally recognized as the best, and was not disappointed.  The technician sent was experienced, professional, did the job cleanly with a minimal amount of intrusion into the walls, and identified specifically the entire line and where it was leaking.  It's fixed now, and we are happy customers!  They are as good as it gets in San Diego.

We called a plumber for noticing our floor being warm and outside our patio area was being wet on the dirt. We thought at first it was from all the raining we've been having but when my hub dug a hole in three different areas there were a pool of water that didn't go down. The plumber told referred to us CPL and specifically to ask for a certain man ( I forgot his name). So when I called CPL they said the man wasn't available so another man would come by. When the man called to say he was around the corner it wasn't the man they sent but this one was available. He found the leak and marked with tape where the pipes where but I didn't know he was suppose to cut the dry wall and mark which pipes they were. I wished I remembered his name but oh well, he wasn't a cheerful person. When we had the plumber come by they said they work with CPL and they should have cut the dry wall. CPL only gave a receipt but no written details. The details were mailed to us days later. Our plumber had to call them up to find out info. Our plumber had to cut the dry wall and redid our pipes. I felt CPL didn't complete the job as they should.

CPL (Jake) came to my house on Tuesday because I was told that I may have a hot water leak in the slab. I was given a 4-hour window of when they would could be there and received a 30 minute call ahead.
I took this problem as a learning opportunity to understand more about my water heater. Jake had no problem explaining things to me along the way to diagnosing where the leak actually was along the pipeline. They charge for a 2-hour minimum, and it only took him an hour and 15 minutes. I am glad it did not go over the 2 hours, because that is when the price gets nerve racking.
The secretary's on the phone were very friendly for scheduling the service and updating the arrival time.
I am happy with the service I received. Hopefully the leak can now be fixed by a plumber that exerts service just like CPL did.

The 5-star reviews for CPL are right on. Called this morning at 8am for a yard leak, tech arrived at 8:45am and by 10am we knew the leak source. CPL's Tech Mark was excellent; professional, courteous and confident he would find the leak for us. We selected CPL for leak detection purely due to their Yelp reviews after receiving rounds of different opinions from other contractors (including the City)...and so glad we did. Having a knowledgable and NICE technician was absolutely refreshing. Called our plumber who arrived shortly after CPL and leak is no longer! We are very, very happy homeowners. I discovered my leak late at night; the plumber showed early the next morning and called in CPL to find the leak under my yard.  They sent someone out within an hour and he found it, using some sort of magic scanner, within minutes.  Since the water had been gushing out, leaving me with a water bill of $1213 for the two-month period, I was glad to get it fixed quickly.

I was quoted a different price on the phone, they came out and did a chingus job which took 5 mins of actual inspection and 10 mins of setup/take down, for a grand total of 15 minutes. Then they demanded $250 ($1000/hour)...

I told them to kick rocks, im not going to be bullied, I then offered them the $75 reasonably owed. They are threatening to sue me... But im a lawyer, so the threat doesn't scare me, i know my rights here...

This company tries to bully people (see reviews). I recommend that you call someone else. Read all the reviews and discern the REAL reviews from the FAKE reviews posted by this company and its friends. Real story is these guys are con artists!

Im gonna fight them in Court! Now that I have seen the reviews, i believe its my duty to defend this community against trolls like CPL. Do yourself a favor and call someone else. Dont get ripped off by these jerks.

Mike was great! Very professional and friendly, he explained the plumbing jargon in terms I could understand. He called to let me know he was on his way, and came out in the hours they said he would. He found our slab leak pretty quickly, then checked another outdoor water spigot to see if we had multiple options for a re-route. Absolutely OUTSTANDING Service is what CPL provided our family when we experienced a serious underground water leak. For most families going through a serious water leak is a stressful event. Finding the Venders necessary to locate such an underground leak can be a daunting task however I lucked out because the first vender I called handled our problem with a genuine concern for my family's welfare and openly displayed a sense of urgency about remedying our water intrusion problem in record time frame fashion. Within an hour they were on site. I'd like to thank Chelsea CPL's Office Receptionist and Ozzie their water leak detection specialist, each were extremely personable, and each displayed a level of professionalism seldom found in similar businesses. We called CPL out to a apartment complex in Escondido to find a cold water leak under a sidewalk last year, Chris Desarno came out late in the afternoon and found the leak without any problem. He was polite, easy to work with & perfectly on target when it came to locating the leak. We always rely on CPL to find the tough leaks. This post is long overdue. I called this company after several plumbing guy recommended them, because they are the only guy to do the leaking testing around.  They asked my credit card information even before anything.  I know they charge a lot of money so I am prepared for it.  But the bad thing is that I told the office that they need to be on the roof that is over 22'. And before the guy came to my place I told him again that he need have his long ladder so he can get to the roof top.  He did not say anything.  Then he came, and then they Called me from the office saying that he cannot get on the top of the roof unless I have a mechanic lifter that lift him to that top of the roof.  They do not have a ladder and even I provide the ladder they won't go on to the roof because they do not have the insurance.  And the will charge me $250 per hour to do the test, and $250 per pound of some kind of gas, and the cost of the lifter, Which means all would cost me over $1000 easily just to find the leaking or may not find any leaking.  And because of the pressure they would apply to the pipe which may create more leaking.  

At the end they did not do anything and charged me $100 trip charge.  I wonder why don't they tell me up front they will not go on the roof even they had so many opportunities before they came to my place? Just for the $100 easy money from me and doing nothing?  And wondering they are in this kind of business, why not have the insurance that is needed for their job?

Conclusion is:  this is not a good company and never hire them

Just met with Chris and the newbie Quinn regarding a leak at a small apartment complex. I feel like I've been playing whack-a-mole with all these various leaks I've had to deal with.
Chris was very thorough in his investigation and after some painstaking work, detected where the leak was coming from. He even used a blue dye (with my approval) to identify that it was coming from the shower drain in a particular unit. And does not appear the blue dye left any stain. Great job!

I hired CPL at the recommendation of my plumber after my tenant noticed two discolored spots on the hardwood floors. The CPL tech came to the house and performed electronic leak detection ad could not detect any pressurized leaks at this time. The bill indicates that the tech, upon noticing an area of discoloration in front of the dishwasher, removed the kick plate, ran the dishwasher through a cycle and did not see any leaks or drips. Two days later, the DW didn't work and a repairman was called. He removed the kick plate and showed my tenant where the DW had been leaking for quite some time (photo evidence). I called Cheryl at CPL who told me that CPL only detects slab leaks, not appliance leaks. So why bother with the whole DW check then? My feedback was that if they couldn't detect an obvious appliance leak, then I didn't have much confidence in the validity of the rest of their report. So I'm out $250 and I have no idea if there's a slab leak in the other part of my rental property that I asked CPL to investigate or not. Very disappointed.

There was a leak at rental property that I manage. I called a leak detection company out and they were not able to find the leak. They did not charge me a fee and they scheduled an appointment with CPL for them to come out and attempt to find the leak. The gentleman that scheduled the appointment for me told me that CPL would charge me $270. The next day CPL showed up a little over an hour late, the tech located the leak and told me that I owed them $370. I called CPL's office to advise them that the previous leak detection company that scheduled the appointment for me told me that the fee was $270. I was told that extra $100 was a travel fee. I explained to them that this is not what I was told by the other leak detection company. After going back and forth for a while, I was transferred over to Ruth who was extremely rude and began lecturing me about travel time, all the other jobs they could have done, how much money they lost by sending someone so far out to my property, etc...At this point I asked Ruth why they would send someone all the way out to Hemet from from San Diego when they have an office in Temecula that is only about 20 minutes from this particular property. She did not offer a reasonable explanation and carried on with her lecture. The next day I spoke with the Owner of the company (Brad). He listened to my story and seemed somewhat sincere while offering an apology. The end result was, a $50 travel fee added to my bill ($50 more than what I was told it would cost). Based on my experience and the end result of the situation, I would advise NOT to use this company. It was a very unpleasant experience.

I have to say that I am unsure how they have any negative reviews. Their customers service was exemplary, returned my call promptly and  sent out a technician within less than a hour. The technician was very knowledgeable, informative and professional. My house is from 1940s with interesting plumbing (main turn off valve has been enclosed and not assessable) on a fairly large lot. It should  of made finding the leak very difficult, but not for this technician, he found it. I hope never to need leak detections services again, if I do I will be using CPL and will not hesitate to recommend them to others.

Contacted CPL to detect a leak. Did a great job at detection and marking the area of a pin-hole leak. However, when asked to mark the exact pipe, was where things took a down turn.
#1 When I called to have them come over to mark the pipe inside the dry wall (which is within the scope of their visit), the customer rep said the person they sent had already spent 2 hrs (you pay for first 2 hrs and then in increments of 1 hr) - which was totally not true, since I recollect my wife telling me she was amazed all of the work was done in an hour, and I too recollect looking at the clock and responding to her. So I was insistent that the second call to mark the exact pipe had to be free. The rep asked that she check with her manager. Finally, it worked out and they sent the same individual.
#2 The technician cut out three areas in the dry wall even when he had marked one spot for the manifold on one side of the wall - felt it was needless. Ended up being additional work for the person following their work.  

Note - the technician who showed up was super professional and answered all questions and even said he'd be available to talk to my plumber . 10/10 points there.

My only recommendation for customers would be to make note of the time of entry into the house and time of exit, get the technician's signature - you may need to revert to it if you find yourself in my situation - it was a needless haggle and a waste of my time.

We had Nick Ross as our service technician, and we were pleased with the service we received. He was courteous and conducted himself professionally. He arrived promptly, even giving us a 30-minute heads-up call. The service was completed efficiently in less than two hours. Additionally, he took the time to demonstrate how to read the meter and informed us about the city water reimbursement program, which covers 50% of overages for certain types of leaks (fortunately, our leak was covered). We would definitely consider using their services again in the future, although we hope we won't have to.

Just before Thanksgiving I discover that I had a slab leak and received a referral for CPL. They sent a representative out on Friday. JC and another employee arrived in the morning and fully explained their process to me. They were very professional and friendly. The leak was not a visible leak or a large leak so they had to go over my driveway and garage several times to locate it. They were determined to find the exact location and did not stop until they were both satisfied with their results.
When the plumbing company came out to do the repair, they were able to dig in the same spot that JC had located and repair the leak with minimal damage to the floor.
I can't say thank you enough for such a professional staff who truly cared to locate the leak and be as helpful as possible to make a bad situation a little bit more tolerable.

Ozzie from CPL just came out to help us find leaks that led to a $600 water bill. He was super professional, and quickly diagnosed our complicated water system (we live on a hill, and have a pump-driven pressure system). Terrible experience.  We had a leak in our water line of about 160 gallons a day.  We called them for an emergency leak detection service.  They said that they could do nothing for four or five days.  I told them that in that case I would try to find another service that could respond immediately--which I did.  (I called the Leak Detectives, which did a great job at a fair price--the same day).  I notified CPL both by message and phone that I was using another service.  They proceeded to bill me for $100.  I sent them an email pointing out their error--and today received yet ANOTHER bill for $100.  Appears that their theory is that if you send fraudulent bills to enough people, some of them will actually pay.

Chris provided a very thorough inspection of the leak and patiently explained the technology being used to pinpoint the location of the leak and determine actions that would fix it.  He was available and responsive even a few days after he completed his investigation when the plumber came to perform the repairs.  We contacted him multiple times to guide the the repair.  He was responsive and helpful the entire way.  A 5+ from me.

Called on a Sunday because i had warm spots on my bathroom floor. A plumber i contacted recommended them to locate the leak and my brothet recommended them. My britheworks at Schmidt. That was enough for me tobuse them.

I spoke with Ruth Monday morning. I know i sounded freaked out and panicked but she took care and got me scheduled that afternoon.

Jacob arrived and marked the leak and the pipe. He calmed me down and was so professional, personable and friendly. If you ever find yourself in this situation, i would use them again.

I called them at 7am on a Saturday and they arrived within 2 hours. Found the problem quickly and had the report emailed to me immediately which enabled me to schedule the repair with the plumber for first think Monday morning. It was $370 because it was a weekend, but it was no hassle, he was very professional and efficient and I think it was worth every penny. I called in Dec to have them come out to help find a water leak.  Receptionist was very professional and explained everything, (almost, extra charge for PVC PIPE).  Jake was the employee whom responded.  He was all business which is fine and said he marked where he found a leak in my irrigations system.  Hired a licensed plumber to fix that leak, but when the plumber finished the water meter was still turning.  I texted Jake to ask if he could send me a diagram from the meter down to the house.  he said he had done the markings on the ground of showing the leak, and that if I needed to know where the main line ran, I would need a bib(?) installed near the meter.  Maybe I'm way off, but I would think Jake should have started at the meter with the fancy gadgets and worked his way down following the line.  With the turnoff valves for the irrigation systems and house in the off positions, the leak has to be between the house and meter as my logic would surmise.
Sad that the problem wasn't diagnosed completely the first time so it could be fixed the first time.  
Can't give them 5 stars or even 4 since I'm starting from ground zero again.

I called in for an appointment and I got a live person on the first call. The appointment was prompt and my technician came within the promised window.
Chris Desarno showed up in a clean uniform, neat appearance, polite, focused and got right to work helping to diagnose our problem. By process of elimination we ruled out nearly all of the common sources for our ground seepage problem. Chris did a video inspection and it turned out that our drain system was intact and clean.
Even though we didn't solve the problem, I got an education in pipes and leakage. We ended up needing an irrigation engineer to diagnose the problem but when I needed help CPL came out ASAP.
I highly recommend this company and hope you are lucky enough to work with Chris when you call.

We had what we thought was a slab leak which turned out to the the case.  We had called a plumbing service first that got good reviews and we know others used but we were outside their service territory and the recommended calling CPL first to verify and locate the leak.  They were friendly, on time, and efficient in their work (we had Ozzie who was great).  They were able to provide through information on the leak which is exactly what I needed for providing to a plumber.  They even helped me find someone reputable for our service territory which was a huge help. Really happy with the experience considering it's a slab leak.

I had a leak outside of my house and am SO grateful my plumber recommended CPL.  Theresa took my frantic call, answered all my questions, and scheduled someone to come out very quickly. It's so nice to have great staff in the office to calm those of us who freak out with this sort of thing. Jose called me before he was about to arrive, was on-time, and fantastic in explaining to me everything along the way. I needed to have the water off until the next plumber arrived for repair and he gave me great ideas of filling the tub with water, etc. I could go on. I wasn't overly satisified by the 2 visits the CPL technician made to my property and next store neighbor's property.  During the first visit at my property, Jeff from CPL eventually found an irrigation leak but didn't help uncover the all the leaks from all the pipes in the general area.  After I dug everything up and repaired all the irrigation lines there was still excess ground water which I and my next store neighbor couldn't find the source of.  

About a week later,  my neighbor asked CPL to send Jeff back out to see if we locate any leaks on his property that would explain the excess ground water on my property.  Jeff  didn't do a thorough leak check with C02 this time on the irrigation and house water lines.  He claimed from all his year of experience that it was due to irrigation.  

After spending $5700 to put in a French drain between my property and my neighbor's, I found the excess ground water source  It was the irrigation supply line under the concrete on my neighbor's front patio.   The French drain team noticed the excess dripping water while installing the French drain and tracked it down to my neighbor's front patio.   CPL-Jeff totally missed this during their visit.    

I strongly feel that if Jeff would have located this leak during his  leak check on my neighbor's property,  I wouldn't have had to spend $5700 to prevent this excess leaking water from leaking on my side/ back patio and against my foundation slab.

Be prepared, Rock star group of Guys, the older ladies must have a hard time resisting such good looking guys in those uniforms. If my Memaw ever calls I will be there to keep here away from the young men. I having been using CPL for at least about 20 years now for leak detection, no job to big or to small. Its not easy finding these leaks but the big Guy there named John, he knows his stuff. One day he will probably be the manager. They hit the spot about 99.99% of the time. I would call these guys first before you even think about calling anyone else that says they can find your leak, CPL fast, efficient and friendly let them help you protect the biggest investment you have. Such a great team even in the office, friendly on the phone. Trust the best and forget the rest. Find you leak with confidence.

I had almost the same experience as Jacob did, except that the detection was done at my home.  They said I had a leak and told me the area to dig.  I paid someone to dig a hole 5 feet long by two foot wide by three foot deep.  After this I discovered there was no leak at all.  When I called the technician, he said to wait a few days and he would call me back.  I waited five days, he did not call, hoping no doubt that I would go away.  After this I called the company and they had him call me.  All he could say was that I was lucky that there wasn't a flood.  I called the company again expecting reparations.  The woman in charge basically told me to pound sand.  So, they have my money and I have a messed up yard where there was no leak.  The people who gave them five stars must be associated with the business.  It is a terrible company, steer clear.

SDGE shut my gas off with no notice because of a detected leak.  All they said was that it was inside my house.  I paid a plumber to come out and check all the appliance connections inside but none of them were leaking.  He told me it must be in the walls and that I would have to run all new gas lines at a cost of appx $25K (and insurance does not cover that!).  I researched and found CPL and called them.  They got someone out ASAP and they were super thorough.  Marked all the gas pipes in my walls (just with easy to remove tape) AND they detected the leak!!  They were half the cost of the plumber that did not detect the leak.  Chris was the technician and he was super nice and professional.  He wore a mask and booties (covid precautions).  It was money well-spent and if I ever have any kind of leak to detect again, CPL is my first call!  Very honest, very forthright.  Wish I could give them more stars!

My wife and I were suffering through a significant leakage problem onto our condo's master bathroom ceiling.  We called the complex's preferred plumber to resolve the issue.  After 5 separate visits by 4 different plumbers over a 23-day period, they STILL couldn't find the leak. They appeared much more concerned about who was going to pay them than resolving the issue.  David and Charles from CPL arrived at 10:45 AM on Day 24, found the source of the leak, and were out of the parking lot by 11:45 AM!!
I cannot sing the praises of CPL highly enough.  Thanks to Dave and Charles, I should be able to get a decent nights sleep for the first time in almost a month.

We thought we might have had a slab leak, I was recommended to Cable Pipe & Leak Detection by my plumber so we could find the exact point of the leak.
Steven came out & took a look, he marked where all my pipes are, looked for a leak & turns out we didn't have one. (Yay) He was so kind, friendly, listened to all my concerns, very professional!!!  He suggested we get our sewer pipes checked as well. We took his advice & contacted the company again. Yesterday John from CPL came out to detect a slab leak in my house.  He was personable, knowledgeable and was able to quickly discover where the leak was.  He answered my questions about what would probably be done to fix the leak when the plumber shows up.  The only negative aspect was that the company is so busy that I had to wait for an appointment but is was worth it.

Thought we had a slab leak in our three-story house....but who knows, with so many possible sources in this place.  Jake from CPL came out (fast), and within 30 minutes he drew a circle on a wall and said 'it's here'.  Cut a hole, and there it was. Nice guy, and great attitude.  Worth every penny, and we had it fixed with the water back on the same day.  Learned a valuable lesson, find the leak first with the specialist - then call the plumber.

Water and gas billed doubled from previous month.  Had SDGE come out to inspect for gas leak, they check dryer and furnace but couldn't reach the water tank (located 2nd floor accessible by ladder, I know weird location) so they locked the gas line.  We then got plumber to check water tank and it was fine, no leaks though couldn't check gas line as SDGE shut it off.  Plumber recommended CTL to locate gas and water leak.  Ozzie was our technician.  He did gas leak checks and deduced no gas leak (hurray).  

Ozzie found pooled water in the crawl space, it was a lot of water.  He put on jumpsuit and rubber boots and to our surprised crawled in with headlamp. He crawled around for awhile, came out soaking wet and unfortunately didn't find the broken pipe as the inside of house was dry.  With a listening device, he located the layout of water pipes stemming from the water tank.  It eventually led him to the garage, with pipes running to the washing machine.  One could hear running water in pipe next to washing machine  without listening device. Ozzie then spotted water stains in garage floor adjacent to bedroom wall.  The garage sits on a slab but the house doesn't (hence crawl space under it). With listening device, he could trace the flow of water through the pipes and suspected hot water pipe broke under garage floor slab (to our dismay of all places).  He then back tracked to mark the pipe running through bedroom adjacent to garage.   He marked location to help plumbers  to locate the pipe to cap off.

Plumbers came and Ozzie was spot on with the location of the pipe.  Without the investigative work by Ozzie, I don't know if the plumbers could have found the location of the broken pipe.   Ozzie was methodical and thorough.
If you need to locate a gas and/or water leak, I highly recommend CTL and Ozzie if you can get him.

BTW: Because the hot water tank was producing hot water continuously, the gas bill went up along with the water bill.  Its likely the broken hot water pipe was spilling water for a few weeks based on the rise in bill and amount of water.  This will be an expensive repair, the joys of being a homeowner.

I had a $750 water bill and realized I had a leak. Made sure everything was off then checked the meter, was still slowly spinning. CPL was recommend by a local plumber. I called and set an appointment for the next day. He arrived pretty much on time and after a tour of the property he began searching. He was professional and well spoken. In the end he said, my two hours is almost up, sorry I couldn't find the leak.  I still have to charge you the full amount.  I think when you call a person in any service industry and they can't complete their specified skill set (leak detection) one should receive a discount. $280 later with no clue what to do next, I called another company. The leak was found and fix by another company. I felt like I threw away $280. If you order food from a waiter and he/she doesn't bring you your meal, you take your car into a mechanic and doesn't fix your car, you call a plumber to clear a line and doesn't clear it... a customer isn't satisfied paying full price for no services rendered. 2 stars because the guy was very nice, should be 1 star, for mission accomplishment. For the past few months my water bill has been double or triple what it normally is so after my own thourough inspection of all faucets, toilets, sprinklers, etc... I called CPL to help find out if there is a leak in our house.  A technician came to the house (unfortuneately while I was not there) and inpected with a leak detector.  No leak was found.  I paid the $270 fee and scratched my head.

I have a pool.  My pool guy later commented that he thinks the leak may be at the pool so I called CPL to come back and inspect the pool (the technician said he did not look at the pool while he was there) but was told that pools are not included in their services.  The woman on the phone was not interested in offering any help or other solutions other than to repeat that they do not do pools.

Maybe that's written somewhere in fine print but I think it would have been the right thing to do to tell me that before charging me.  

I have nothing to complain about the technicians work except that he could have suggested that the pool (a big hole in the ground full of water) could have something to do with extra water being used and advised that was not included in his fee.  I do want to complain about the attitude of the woman on the phone and say that I would not recommend this company to a friend.

Do not call anyone else for main line leak detection.
I had a number of plumping companies come and evaluate where the leak was comong. Some wanted to cut the  sidewalk and most of them quoted between 2K to 4.2K to replace the line. only Jon from Pure plumbing suggested that I call CPL and they will mark where the leak is coming from and then we can have it repaired. CPL found the underground leak and marked the location. Saving me thousands of dollars.

The problem with the technicians of this company is they repeatedly leave a mess behind for someone else to clean up.   They did it three times in my property trying to find a leak for my neighbor .  I mentioned it to the technician the second time they left a mess.  The third time I called and reported it .  

They don't respect other people's property.  Choose a higher quality organization .
I did receive a voice mail message back from Cheryl from CPL.  Her response 'we don't carry brooms or hoses on our trucks'.    So they may help you find a leak but they  don't clean up after themselves .... btw they have been out three times to my neighbor's propriety and still can't find the leak.

In my search for a plumber on Super Bowl weekend for a slab leak, I was told to call CPL. I'm so glad I did, Jeff was wonderful. He also found me a great plumber, all the ones I had called either weren't available or didn't even call me back.  The plumber he called arrived within 20 minutes thanks to Jeff calling him in and we loved the plumber too. I had a minor water leak that was difficult to find, yet gave me an extremely high water bill. First plumber came out and could'nt find it. The second plumber came and knew within a few short minutes that I would need a leak detector company.He recommended I call CPL.  I did. Good move. Jason came out within a few short hours. Long story short, it took 4 hours, 2 men and helium to find it.

Thank goodness for CPL!  SDG&E locked our meter due to a mysterious gas leak somewhere in the house (and a failed pressure test).  The plumber was unable to find the leak and referred us to CPL.  The CPL tech was patient & methodical in his detective work. He found the hidden leak source before escalating to more expensive, invasive & uncertain approaches.  Plumber was then able to repair the problem thanks to CPL. Pressure test passed and gas meter unlocked! We were very relieved and grateful.  Whew! Thank you!

CPL was recommended by our plumber to detect the location of an outdoor slab leak we had. The company was the most affordable, and were super efficient, taking the time (the 2 hours was more than enough to figure out the problem) to reassure us the leak was outdoors. OUTSTANDING!  Often when the need for a leak detection company comes up it is a very stressful time.  One that can be compounded by needing the service to come out multiple times to address multiple leaks. One saving grace is having a professional, reliable, trustworthy company to address your need.  CPL Cable Pipe and Leak Detection is one such company.  Over the course of a year we needed such services 3 times at our parents aging property.  We had the pleasure of having Jake Hazelback be our assigned technician on all 3 occasions.   He was polite, courteous and thorough in completing his tasks.  Because of his work we were able to pinpoint several problems and have them addressed.  I hope we never need such services again, but if we do we will contact CPL, and ask for Jake specifically.  Thanks to CPL and Jake!

This company was so very helpful. I had another company come out to find a leak and they couldn't find it. The ladies in the office had me scheduled immediately and CPL came right out and within 15 the leak was found and marked with the depth as well.

I noticed I had a warm spot on my floor in my kitchen. I called a plumber out, after he looked around he told me that I was going to need a leak detector and recommended CPL. I called them and they were able to send out a technician the same day. When the technician Mark, arrived, he was very kind and polite. He explained to me that first he was going to listen to all my pipes hot and cold to determine which pipe was leaking. It wasn't long before he determined that it was my hot line to my kitchen sink that was leaking. He then explained to me that he was going to locate the line to determine the path the line takes to get to the kitchen. After he located the line he then listened and checked the line for leaks. He marked a square about the size of 2 tiles in my kitchen and told me that's where the leak is. I had my plumber come out the next day to dig up where CPL marked the leak and it was exactly where Mark had marked it. I was very satisfied with CPL's service and professionalism and would definitely recommend them.

A price well paid!  Our home is on a raised foundation and one day we found standing water below our home.  Of course assssumed it was a home pipe leak - however my husband is a contractor and built our home and he knew it wasn't from the pipes, but was stumped.  We called in CPL and the technician was out in 24 hours to listen for a leak.  He found the leak - it was one of our main sprinkler lines that eventually was so soaked underground that it traveled under our house.  Great ending to a possibly awful story.  I highly recommend them for leak detection!

Great and professional.  City had said we had a leak and was losing water somewhere but we couldn't pinpoint it.  They came out to the house on time and were very professional.  They let me know all the costs upfront and what they would be doing.  It ended up that the leak that he could find was so small the chances of actually being able to repair it would be difficult.  His total honesty was great.  He also gave me some ideas to see if it was our pool that was leaking water.  Highly recommend and if this pipe ever does start seriously leaking, won't hesitate to call them again.

Even after I had done my own investigation for a possible Main Water service line leak (between water meter and main shutoff valve to the house) by just turning off the shutoff valve and observing the water meter still spinning the needle.  They insisted to walk around inside the house anyways for more possible leaks.  I somehow talked them out of walking around upstairs but they said they would put covers on their boots if they did so, but they didn't do that when they were downstairs in the house though. SMH.   Other than that, they searched my kitchen and took apart the dishwasher panel and pulled back the refrigerator and found a small leak from the angle stop, which was helpful.  Eventually, the main source of the leak was in the front yard under the ground where I suspected it to be and was confirmed with their sound detector.  They also pushed compressed air through the lines to hear for leaks in the lines.  Little after an hour I was billed $280.  The technicians knew what they were doing.  I may have avoided this expense if I had just gone with a Plumber and told them the issue that I had already expected, but then again I would've not noticed the leak from the refrigerator too!  I recommend this service if you're not sure at all.  You never know what you'll find.

When the city read our water meter, they immediately left a note, telling us we likely had a water leak. Our water consumption was almost 3 times the normal amount. A friend recommended CPL, I called them at noon and Jose Chacon was at our house at 1:30!

Jose was awesome; methodically used his technology and experience to find the leak below the slab in our master bedroom. Jose gave us a couple recommendations on how to solve the problem. Thank God the leak was on a pipe going to a outdoor faucet we don't use. 1 trip to Home Depot and less than $10 worth of parts and materials. We are done!!

Please save yourself time and money..DO NOT use Cable Pipe & Leak Detection! First, they charge $2.00 per minute and the minimum is two hours=$240.00. We suspected a hot water pipe leak under our concrete slab (water running with nothing turned on and warm spot on floor. A young man came out and claimed he had found the leaking pipe. NOPE, wrong pipe which led to an additional $1,000.00 plumbing charge to undo his error.

I just had CPL come to my house for a mysterious leak that SDG&E could not find. As a result, they locked my gas on me which means I had no hot water or ability to use my cooktop or dryer. Jeff Antoine knows his stuff! We called CPL after SDG&E red tagged our gas meter due to our existing gas line not holding pressure. Jeff Antoine came out and was able to discover the leak on a fitting behind drywall in our vaulted ceiling.  We had a plumber come out earlier in the day and he wasn't able to locate the leak and told us we would have to do a re-pipe for the entire gas line. Jeff literally saved the day and us a lot of money. I highly recommend Jeff Antoine from CPL, he will be the first guy we call next time.

I am blown away by this company and I can't say enough about how much they helped me during a very stressful slab leak at my house.

Mark from Cable Pipe and Leak has the customer service level that great businesses are built on. He was friendly, he was informative and he really cared. The customer service team on the phone lines were friendly, patient and empathetic to what my needs were. They came out the same day as my phone call and found the exact pin point leak in my slab. Then Mark went the extra mile and mapped out what I needed to show my plumber in order to get the job done.

I hired them to find a pipe leak under our rear yard concrete patio. They marked a spot to cut and I rented a concrete cutting saw. Long story short, the leak was not where they indicted--not even close. The actual leak was at least 6 feet from where they indicated. This caused me to cut up a much larger portion of our patio than anticipated, costing us more time and money. I paid $270 for their service and am not happy. I asked for a credit or refund and they only refunded a measly $40. Do yourself a favor and shop around for a different company. They do not stand behind their work and you might end up paying for nothing.

Called these guys to find a persistent water leak on my property and they did not disappoint.  Started with a very courteous and professional lady to make the appointment and then JH came out and marked the spot where he thought the leak was; under a tiled patio.  I later jack-hammered through tile and 4 of concrete and dug down through 3-feet of (wet) dirt and immediately found the leak...he nailed it!  Saved me a ton of time...well worth just a few hundred bucks.  Thanks guys!!

I had a leak on my main and CPL was recommended by Plumbing Plus because the main ran under my driveway. Jose Chacon showed up on time and called prior to coming to my house. He was very professional and very personable to talk to. He identified the leak and where my main was and the depth it was at across my property. I had a mainline water leak somewhere on my acre property. My water bill had doubled the last few cycles but others I had come out couldn't find it. Thank goodness for Jacob! He set me at ease right away telling me not to worry he WOULD find the leak.  And he did so quickly that I didn't have to pay more than the company's minimum charge. Jacob is an expert in what he does & so professional, too. He explained everything he was doing as he worked. Needless to say, I wish I would have had Jacob help me out sooner. Had a leak, called CPL on my neighbor's recommendation. They came out same day - within 2 hours, located and marked the leak, then located the manifold for the line, I opened the wall and technician indicated which line it was.

Ozzie is the name that you need to remember!!!!
Not only is he a wonderful representation of the company but he is top notch professional, no matter how difficult the job is, Ozzie always get to the bottom of it. I am plumbing company owner and I've had Ozzie locate from gas, to water, to hot and cold slab leaks, plastic pipe leak under concrete and soil and can tell you from experience I have the confidence to trust them with my customer knowing that we get the accuracy needed to repair with the least amount of evasiveness and biggest amount of accuracy. I was extremely impressed by Jose Chacon who came my house following a mysterious water leak. The dining room wall became wet and the baseboard swelled and split from the wet drywall. Behind the wall was a capped water line that used to service a refrigerator ice maker. That water line had not been used in more than 15 years. And the refrigerator was no longer on the other side of that wall following a remodel. He traced the line to the manifold. Instead of wrecking my new cabinets and drywall, Jose suggested capping the undedicated line through the stucco under the kitchen window where the sink was located. I had minimal added damage and no longer have to worry about that faulty pipe.
I was thoroughly impressed by his performance, kindness, courtesy and professionalism. A++++++

I was very happy with CPL from my first call and placing the order till work completion.  Ruth who took my order was very helpful and even contacted my property management company to discuss my case in more detail. Dave the technician arrived on time and performed detection very professionally. Within less than an hour I got a definitive answer.
They don't do plumbing to avoid any conflict of interests. Their detection is fair and objective. I'd recommend CPL to everybody who needs that type of service.

We had a leak in the garage coming from what appeared to be the seam of the drywall and where the concrete meets, which is located near the main water cut off pipe/valve.  We contacted a plumber who indicated that the leak was not coming from within the house or main shut off valve but rather an irrigation problem.  It was not an irrigation issue.  We contacted C.P. L. who sent Mark out.  Mark, through expert strategies, found the leak which was in the main water cut off valve.  Both C.P. L.  staff and Mark were great.  I would highly recommend them.

Called CPL out for a leak that we could not locate. The person I spoke with on the phone scheduled the appointment for 11am the following day.  At 10:30 the next day she called me and advised that the service tech was on his way from Temecula.

Jose Chacon arrived ON TIME and explained in DETAILl what he was going to be doing.  He spent about an hour using his instruments and going from the front of the house to the back.  He located the leak which as a bad pool overfill regulator.  

Jose also made several recommendations to change valves on our water heater and other locations that were not leaking but could cause long-term potential problems.  Jose was courteous, very knowledgeable and had a very pleasant demeanor.  

I would STRONGLY Recommend CPL and Jose for any leak issues.

God bless there are still companies that provide great service. Mark was assigned to me and was out within an hour of my request for service. That is unheard of. He came out and was very polite and knowledgable. He was able to diagnose the problem to allow a plumber to come out and know exactly where the leak is. I would 100% recommend CPL to anyone especially those who have American Home Shield who are frustrated from poor contractors. If you have a leak or think you have one, give CPL a call! You hear a dripping or tapping sound, warm concrete slab, wet drywall or flooring.  Don't panic, just call CPL.  Before you go crazy and call plumbers or an insurance company if you feel that you have a leak go and shut your water off. It is most likely located in the garage or side of your home... Turn the handle slowing. If that doesn't work there is a shut off at the street.  You may also have to open your faucets on the second and bottom floor to drain all the water out of the system if you have an active leak. By the way...  I am not a licensed contractor or plumber.  I am a real estate broker who has had plumbing issues before.  Now... Back to the review.  CPL will come to your home and conduct a test to find the leak.  They are like Ghost Busters of leak detection. Very patient and polite...  They will not start cutting drywall open as they have instruments and skills to identify the problem.  At the very least you will know what to do.  My cost has been about $280 per visit and I have used them for clients homes as well.  I highly recommend you give them a call and if you don't know where your water shut off is then you should find it and show everyone in the family where it is and how to turn it off.  Lastly if you feel you have a leak don't wait to call CPL.  They will help you before you call the plumber.

This company was referred to me by a plumber who did not provide the service I needed. For an upgrade to our appliances, we were adding a gas line to our kitchen. We had an existing gas line running through the property but unsure where exactly it was. Not wanting to dig for hours on end, we had CPL come out & mark the line from the meter and a gas  line from a former jacuzzi. I said I needed an appointment as soon as possible, they had me scheduled two days later. Knowing that I needed it quickly, they kindly called me back to tell me a technician was already in my area. Aaron called a little while later, and showed up when he said he would. Courteous, reliable, helpful staff from the office, to accounting, to the technician. So nice to see a well run company happily serving their customers. Would highly recommend!

CPL is timely, professional, accurate, and reasonably priced. They used advanced methods and equipment to pinpoint my front yard water leak before a single spec of dirt was moved. When the ground was opened it was to the exact location of the leak with just a small hole deep enough to access the pipe. I was able to perform the repair myself. They saved me the inconvenience of not having water for an extended period of time, tons of money, and more importantly tons of time.

If you have a water pipe leak in your house. DO NOT !!! DO NOT !!! DO NOT!!! Call CPL leak detection company.
It was an absolute nightmare working with this company and its managers and field supervisors. My story starts by scheduling CPL to come out and detect where my water leak was inside my house. The technician came out and did a very quick job of outlining where main water line entered my guest bedroom and tapped off a 1ft. by 1ft. square indicating where my water leak was under concrete floor. Technician also stated that I should bypass old water lines by cutting / capping water line thereby by-passing the old line and to run a new line from water main outside my house thru attic/ceiling and back down into manifold which is in guest bedroom. I called a local plumber gave him the overview of job and he began the work. After completing the repair that was recommended by CPL technician, the Plumber turned on the main water supply and DAMMIT- guess what half of the house and 2 bathrooms were without water!!!
Both puzzled, we stared at each other and that's when Plumber asked me if CPL technician took the time to identify where water line branched off to feed other parts of the house. Obviously, I stated NO. So, after spending close to $3000 of unnecessary repair work Plumber began to jack- hammer concrete and locate leak- Well, guess what the 1ft square which was identified to have the leak was totally incorrect. In short, the Plumber located 7 different pipes in a 3 sq ft area before finding the leaky pipe. At this point I was completely pissed off and frustrated with the CPL technician.
I began to correspond with a CPL company supervisor named Joey Hernandez. He stated that the plumber was totally at fault and not his field technician. I stated that the technician told me to have the plumber cut/cap and re-route the main water supply. Which left half my house without water. In short, I needed to find and repair leaky pipe underground. This Joey Hernandez stated he would send out a senior field supervisor and an expert plumber to view the work performed by CPL technician. After 2 hrs. of looking around with there fancy high tech. equipment they deduced that Field technician made mistakes, missed steps and FAILED TO COMUNNICATE THE CORRECT INFORMATION.
I stated to the (2) senior field representatives of CPL that I would like the company to take liability and responsibility for their errors and mistakes. The senior representative stated he would pass on his findings to Joey Hernandez and that he would contact me back. Now, after over a week of waiting for Joey Hernandez to correspond I wrote him an email explaining my distaste and dissatisfaction with CPL. He finally wrote me back stating that CPL DOES-NOT guarantee or warranty any of its work. Hmmm.... Very confusing because they did not disclose this when I made my initial appointment. They did-not disclose this when technician came out and did not disclose this when technician left my home. CPL's website states they are highly trained, certified technicians with over 40yrs of service. Well, if this is the case why feel the need for a get out of jail disclosure clause. Me and my wife are now out of pocket over $4,000 for the ill-advised repair work that CPL does not want to take responsibility for.
If you are reading this horror story, I highly advise you to NOT use CPL leak detection company for any reason, they are nothing but a bunch of scammers and liars. They at best do shoddy work and blame the plumber if things go wrong. Then, when you correspond with them, they hit you with a hold-harmless disclosure that they DO NOT warranty and or guarantee an of there work but yet claim the be professional, well-trained certified experts......... Lies, lies, lies, lies,

I am a local firefighter-paramedic who holds himself to a high code of ethics, honor, duty, respect, trust etc. I only ask that CPL - leak detection company hold themselves to this same standard and DO THE RIGHT THING by customers they help. If you have made a mistake and error own up to it and make things right....

At this point, I am still waiting for Joey Hernandez of CPL to correspond.  While I wait, I will blast this story all over social media BBB, Angies-list, Yelp etc.

DO-NOT USE CPL LEAK DETECTION COMPANY, YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!!!!!!

Nick from CPL called to give an update on his time of arrival, and then was prompt to that time. He wore booties throughout my home and was considerate, conscientious and professional in all aspects of his service call. Not only did he find the leak, he marked it clearly for plumber to be able to repair hole in pipe. He answered all my questions and also provided a written report. He used a variety of tools from infrared to other devices to listen to the leak and track the pipes. I had feared the leak was under the slab, but it turned out to be in a relatively easy place to get to and fix, behind a mirror above a bathroom vanity. Where Nick cut the back of the vanity cabinet, he kept the lines straight and made it easy to repair rather than have to replace the whole back. Nick clearly marked exactly where the pipe was leaking. He also turned off my hot water heater's hot line and bled the line so I could keep the house's water on and no additional water would leak until the plumber could repair the pipe. He kept his work under the minimum two hour $325 service call charge.

Found these guys off of a Google search and did not even think about using Yelp. Sorry Yelp! Considering I used a Google search, I had low expectations.  I did have to wait 2 days for an appointment. Technician Quentin gave me a text of his ETA and showed up on time. He took his time while investigating the problem with the water leak that was inside the slab of the house. He exposed the wall with the pipe that had an issue and also exposed where we could bypass the pipe in the slab and go though the wall. Technician Quentin was professional and explained the problem to me. At the end of the job, he was also able to send me an email with pictures and a summery of the issue. CPL was a lifesaver for not having me to jackhammer you my foundation.

If you're worried (or terrified) that you may have a slab or water leak, look no further and contact CPL.

There were concerns that I might have a slab leak due to high moisture readings under my wooden floors.

After reading the number of positive reviews on Yelp!, I reached out to CPL.

Ruth and Mary Anne we're both very polite and scheduled a same day appointment. I did the two hour detection service for $250. Note: I had a highly reviewed plumber scheduled a couple of hours before CPL and they also recommended CPL.

John came to do the inspection. I can't say enough positive things about him; friendly, professional, and extremely knowledgeable.

He used a number of electronic devices to determine that there wasn't a slab leak (Yay!). He traced out all of water lines and took the time to show me where the lines ran throughout the house.

I'm currently going through a kitchen remodel and I had some additional concerns about my current plumbing (1960s). John addressed all of my million questions and offered suggestions and recommendations on where I can improve my plumbing. Outstanding customer service.

Overall, I felt I got way more than my money's worth.

I hope you don't ever have to detect a water leak but if you do... I highly recommend Cable Pipe and Leak Detection.

We've had these guys over a couple times now and they always been super nice/profession and very knowledgeable. We recently had Steven over to look at what we thought was an extremely hard to find leak, but he found it in a matter of minutes. We've been perplexed with this leak for a full week now, our water meter wasn't moving and no other evidence other than some water in one of our closets. We had two professional plumbers come and check our leak. Both could not find it, cut away wall material and we paid them a high fee.

CPL came in and within 15 minutes found our leak, then recommended a plumber who fixed it within a few days.

I called CPL to address a leak for my parents home. I had called two plumbers who could not find a leak and only a wet wall. Mark came out and he was great! It was a challenging leak to find to say the least. He never gave up looking for the leak even though he had to look in challenging locations. He was also very professional and had a great attitude. They were here for maybe 30 minutes and say they found a leak in my front yard between the water meter and house. Probably a leak in the main line.
Charged $350 . They don't fix anything. They just find it.
Now I have to call my plumber at $140 per hour to fix it.  I should have just called the plumber from the start.
$350 is a bit excessive.

Expensive and less than accurate:
I had a leak under the ground between the meter and the house. I called CPL to locate the leak. they came and identified a spot and flagged it. They charged me $300. I hired a plumber who dug the ground. No leak, charged me $180 for labor. I called back CPL. They came back and identified another location ~8 feet away. They charged me an additional $310, although they had promised me to give a discount for the re-do. This time the location was correct and I had a plumber come fix it.
Overall, they charged me fully $610 for 2 visits, while if they did a more thorough job to begin with, they could've identified the source of the leak the first time around. So not only I had to pay them an extra$310 but also I had to pay the plumber $180 for the first wrong spot. It cost me additional $480 for nothing. When I called CPL to complain, they said they can't do anything about it. I would try a different company next time.
