It's getting warm again in the Bay Area and guess what ... our ac is blowing warm air‍. So we sent out an AC repair request through Yelp and one name caught our attention: Cozy House. Smaller business with 5 star reviews.

Ivan sent me a message with a good inspection price and came out the next day.

When he arrived, he asked us to turn on the ac to 60 degrees while he performs the inspection. He initially found that the outside fan motor was not working but needed to perform a complete inspection. Inside I was thinking 'man.. what is this going to set us back???'

He and his partner continued to work in the unit while we waited inside. Then my wife noticed that cold air was now coming through the vents.

Ivan knocked on the door and said the he was able to repair the fan(!). It had some corrosion but was able to use wd-40 to correct the problem. The system is now running fine!!

He did state that I do have an old unit that may need replacing at some point but for right now it's ok.

You can be sure that when that times come I will ask Cozy House to set us up. He is friendly, professional and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend Ivan and Cozy House for your ac and heater needs.

Due to all the storms lately, we had some electrical problems whenever it rained. We didn't know what was causing a GFI in our garage to keep tripping, so we found Ivan through Yelp. He was the first to respond, he followed up, and he was available right away. His prices were a bit higher than the competition, and he isn't licensed, but his Yelp reviews encouraged me to give him a chance.

He was accommodating to our schedule, came immediately and on time. He troubleshooted the problem diligently, and found the wire causing the problem -- GFI stopped tripping when he disconnected it. But we couldn't figure out where the wire led because there was no crawl space above our garage. He diligently kept looking, and after a couple hours found the culprit! I'm not certain another electrician would have found it. Turns out it was our sump pump that was tripping the GFI, which was hidden inside a tube that was marked as a gas pipe instead. Stellar review for Ivan's trouble-shooting determination and for finding the problem instead of stopping once we got the GFI to stop tripping.

He came back a few days later after finding the issue to do the actual repair, and brought a colleague. They went above and beyond to fix the electrical issue as well as replace our sump pump the same day. Overall I'd call Ivan again to consult on any electric or handyman projects.

Two of our outdoor electrical outlets were not working , even when I reset the GFCI, and no circuit breakers were tripped. Cozy House was the fastest respondent, came out quickly.

Ivan troubleshooted that a GFCI outlet had gone bad and replaced that one. He also upgraded the non-GFCI that was near a jacuzzi to GFCI and installed a new outdoor outlet cover

I had 3 electricians come in to give me quotes to install a Tesla Wall Connector and Ivan by far gave the most reasonable rate. He also clearly explained the breakdown of the costs and how long it would take him.

On the day he came in I changed my mind on where I wanted the install to be, it was a couple inches away from the original spot we agreed on. He said that it would definitely be possible and charged me only $30 more just for parts since it was a couple inches from the original spot and would require more parts.

He did great quality work and I will definitely hire him again if I need him for any electrical work for the future. Will also recommend him to my friends who are planning to buy a Tesla in the future and need an ev charger installed in their home.

I have a problem starting the air conditioner. Cozy house came to do a diagnostic, spent a few hours to find out the HVAC relay malfunction and two thermostats also damaged. Their estimate is slightly higher than I expected, due to their dedicated work and good skill, so decide to have them to proceed the repair task. After they replace those damaged parts, the HVAC performs well. I am glad to choose them to do this task.

I was looking for the electrician who can install EV charger for my home on Yelp. I received a lot of texts. Ivan responded quickly through text and phone call. He offered a free estimate while the others asked me to measure the area by my own.

He installed the EV charger nicely with electric metallic tube conduit, 48 amp which make the charger charges faster.

After he done his job, I saw HVAC service screen on his van, so I asked him to check the heater system at my business. It has been overheated like sauna, thermostat worked incorrectly due to the big ventilations and there are plenty of them. Nobody can fix the issue in the past 7-8 years.

Ivan spent time to figure out the cause to a problem. He found and fixed it. The long time issue has been solved.

I would recommend Ivan. He knows what he is doing and responsible.

I wanted to install 2 security cameras. First was an easy installation by replacing an existing light fixture. Second was a little labor intensive where additional wiring and junction box was installed in the attic.
I had reached out to several electricians. Few of them came over and looked at the project from outside. Ivan was the only one who actually went to the attic and figured out what needs to be done. Contacted Cozy House through yelp to get a quote for replacing a breaker. The AC unit stopped working in the unit and a previous diagnosis from another company told us we'd need to get the breaker replaced.

Ivan was extremely responsive and was able to schedule an inspection for the following morning. After the inspection he told me that the AC unit actually turned back on without any additional work and his recommendation is not to change anything, but that if this happens again he'd happily come back and look into/fix the issue. He provided me with a fair/competitive quote for what it would cost to change the breaker + parts.

We had a fairly big project of moving our kitchen from one side of the room to another which meant redoing a lot of the electrical work and adding roughly 12 outlets. This included running three new lines to the electrical panel. Ivan did great in coming in and explaining what needed to be done. Our bathroom light switch was broken, resulting in us having to override power via the circuit panel or deal with having the light on 24/7 until it was fixed. With today's energy bills being what they are, we chose the latter and fumbled our way around the darkened half of the house all weekend as a result.

Today I requested estimate of my lighting project through yelp. I attached a few pictures on the request. Ivan, the owner of Cozy house replied very quickly and gave estimate on the very first reply. Many of others were 'call me xxx and make an appointment' kind of response, which I didn't want really. He told that he can make time for my project on the same day. The rate is reasonable and I saw very good reviews too, so I decided to go with cozy house.

He gave ETA before he came. When I saw him, he brought everything he needs already and started the work immediately. He put on shoes cover before asking. He finished everything in less than 30min! It works great! I didn't imagine I can get the thing done so quickly and smoothly. No charge anything other than the fee we agreed at the very first message. Very impressive and such a professional. We have a broken GFCI outlet in our backyard. We asked for an estimate and Ivan gave us the estimate very quickly. We reached out to him around 10:30am and he was able to come at 12:30pm on the same day and replaced the broken outlet very quickly. The fee was very reasonable and he did not charge us for overpriced diagnostics fee when clearly what we needed was for someone to just replace a broken GFCI outlet. Highly recommend and will definitely use him again for any electrical work going forward!

Ivan installed a Sense energy monitoring system in our old 100 amp breaker panel. My living room's power was out after I tried to replace a smart switch myself. Ivan arrives on time and wear mask and shoes cover before entering. Within minutes able to identify that previously wrong wiring in my house is the problem quickly fixes it. He also help me installed two smart switch which I wouldn't be able to do, without extra charge since it is within the minimum two hour service. He's kind and willing to educate me about the problem with the wires in my house. Will definitely hire him next time.
