I found Precision Electric on Yelp and contacted them. They responded promptly and scheduled an appointment. I wanted to repair a broken light fixture. Mario came out and gave me a quote. Then he suggested that for safety reasons it was better to install a new fixture, and it would be the same price. He met me at Home Depot and recommended which fixture was best for my old Victorian. Mario was professional and knowledgeable. The room looks so much better. I'm happy with the result and I would use Precision Electric again.

My coworker recommended Mark and Precision Electric to me when I needed to have a 240v outlet installed for our new Tesla. Mark was very responsive, and was able to give me a quote after only exchanging a few emails. His price was right on what I was expecting, so I felt no need to get competing bids. Once I gave him the thumbs up, he was able to come out the next morning. When he arrived, he let me know he could complete the job for about 15% LESS than he had quoted me! I have to start by saying although we did not hire them (explain why) I am glad I contacted them. I originally sent out a message as I didn't know why half of my kitchen outlets had stopped working. The Owner Mark K responded quickly and instead of saying I'm going to charge $$ this much to come out, he sent me a message telling me to try reset the GFCI outlets. We found 1 lose connection and resetting the outlets worked!

Top notch work by Precision Electric. The owner, Mark, helped me installa 240V outlet for my EV in my garage. His work was fabulous. It took him just under an hour to get the work done. He is precise in his craft.

I think Precision Electric is perhaps overbooked and maybe that's causing problems. This review isn't consistent with his other positive reviews.

We first scheduled work for about a month out. I didn't mind because I wasn't in a rush. The day before they were supposed to come out, I called to confirm, and they didn't even have it on the schedule. Later Mark confirmed that he had the job in his records but it didn't make it to his calendar. He apologized.

We rescheduled, Jason and Josh came out and did a wonderful job. Mark admitted in a text to me Sorry if I sound frustrated but the workload has been extremely difficult to deal with. Throughout, the job he complained about various issues.

At the end of the job, I had a check ready to pay him (the workers couldn't accept the check for him). Mark didn't show up with the bill. He emailed me the bill the next day and followed up with a text and voicemail further complaining about the difficulties of the job and how I should have selected one option of recessed lights rather than the second option. He went on further to say how my selection was so outdated. Very unprofessional.

I'm happy with the work and the results but not with the process of getting there.

We needed to get an EV wall charger installed in our garage, and we found Precision Electric here on Yelp. Mark replied to my voicemail within the day I called and he was able to come out the next business day to look at our electrical box and where we wanted the charger located. He gave us some ideas on what may work for the positioning of it, and could tell us about cost differences, and answered a lot of questions we had about our options.

Later that day he gave us an estimate through email, and after I got the wall charger, he was able to fit us relatively quickly into his busy schedule since we were flexible. The day of the work he had two other workers with him- and they were all very nice, worked very quickly and left the place very clean and the installation looks great, and works great.

I will definitely call them again for any other electrical projects we need done.

I just had a job finished by Precision Electric and they did exactly what I asked for at a very reasonable price. I had a transfer panel put in that allows me to use a portable lithium power station that powers up to four areas in my home using the transfer panel, during power outages. They also fished a solar wire from the office next to the transfer panel, through the attic to where it will connect outside to solar panels on the roof. We tested the Goal Zero Yeti connected to the new transfer panel and it worked flawlessly. Now when the power goes out I won't have extension cords running throughout the house powering my refrigerator, microwave, t.v. internet wifi, and office for working at home (which is very important). I will be up and running from one emergency power source. In the pictures I did not ask them to install outlet boxes for the solar cables, I will do that myself later. Thanks Precision Electric!

Mark was excellent and responsive for the bid. The process of getting the estimate was very smooth and the response time was quick. I left a message during the day and by my evening commute home on bart I had received a call. Following the call, I was able to send him pictures of my panel, product requirements, and the install location. From that, I received a firm price.

The EV charger install was painless and the work looks great at a very reasonable price. I now understand why the company has so many positive reviews. Will be a choice for other electrical work in the future.

Mark andJason were referred to us by friends as we wanted to put ceiling fans in our new 1960's house. We were so impressed with their professionalism, quality of workmanship, and reasonable cost that we had them back to install track lighting and fix some outlets (due to shoddy work done by flippers before our purchase). During the ceiling fan project they told us the ducting was coming apart in the attic, and referred us to a great HVAC compzny also! Will not hesitate in calling them or referring friends to them in the future!

Awesome service. I placed a call and, as expected for any small business, got their answering machine. The message stated they were booked out for about a week, which was fine with me and I appreciated the honesty. Was also pleased to hear a promise of a return call no later than next business day. (I'll believe that when I see it was my thought.)

Then instead I got a call back within an hour, and he volunteered to swing by our house after completing his current call. Which he did. And fixed the problem quickly and efficiently. Charged his standard rate (no rush fee was even suggested).

That level of service and competence, from a genuinely nice guy, gets five stars from me.

So, I called Mark to come look at my dryer outlet in the garage. He was here the same day (happened to be in the neighborhood). I am embarrassed to say it, but all he had to do was flip the breaker good and hard, and I was back in business (this, after paying an appliance repairman $65 to tell me in 30 seconds my dryer was fine and I needed an electrician).
Mark was so nice and pleasant and responsive to my call! He didn't charge me a thing! You better believe I will call him anytime I need electrical work from now on. I recommend him 100%!

I recently hired Mark to place brand new recessed LED lighting throughout my home, and relocate 2 outlets in my kitchen for a remodel project. Mark came in person to give me a very fair quote and was able to schedule the work in the time frame I needed. On the day of installation, he showed up on time and spent a great deal of care and time mapping out grid patterns in my rooms so that the lighting would be evenly spread throughout each room. Mark and a team member then spent the day installing 14 recessed lights throughout the house (this included some crawling around in the attic space to get everything perfect). He also relocated my outlets in the kitchen exactly as I had requested - and very cleanly.

The difference the LEDs made in my home was immediate! They look amazing! Mark also hooked everything up to new Lutron dimmers so that every room could be controlled.

Over the course of my remodel, I had to call Mark to see if he had time to move one more outlet and a switch in my guest bathroom as they were not high enough for the new backsplash being installed. He made time in his busy schedule and showed up the same day so that my countertop guys could finish. He also came out one last time to repair a ceiling fan that was incorrectly installed by someone else.

I am so happy with the quality of the work, the pricing, and the professionalism of Mark and Precision Electric. He went above an beyond for me and if I have any electrical needs in the future, I will have him do all the work!

Mark and his team are really great! I got 3 different quotes from places and precision Electric was pretty comparable to others. I easily was able to set up a time for him to come over via email. Mark ended up sending Jason and a guy(sorry forgot his name!)over to do the work a week ahead of when we scheduled and the work was completed within a couple of hours. Easy peasy. Now where the service for us goes above and beyond is after the fact. We were having some small issues with our dimmers and he was available via text to help my husband work out the issues. He also stop by to check on our grounding rod because he was in the neighborhood after my husband texted him with a question after having an inspector come check on our new copper piping. That's some true customer service. If we need any electrical work in the future Precision Electric will be our call and should be yours too.

This is not a review of Precision Electric making a house call, because Mark, the owner, was able to resolve my problems over the phone! He determined that my flickering dimmer switch was the result of compact fluorescent bulbs in the chandelier. And he showed me how to fix a kaput outlet at one end of the house, by resetting an outlet out in the garage.

Thanks, Mark, for doing this by phone and saving me the cost of an on-site visit - I'm impressed with your knowledge and style, and will definitely use Precision Electric going forward!

Precision Electric is a fantastic company. I recently called Mark (the owner) and he responded the next day. He explained to me that if I could wait a week or so he would be able to take on my project. Mark came out a few days later to see what work needed to be done.

A week later (which was sooner than I expected) Mark met Jason and Josh at my home to review exactly what needed to be done, the work was started that day.

Jason and Josh worked hard all day. At the end of the day there was only a bit left to do. Jason returned a week later (I was not in a hurry) and the job was completed.

Precision Electric added a cam light in my dining room, added an extra plug in our yard for an extension cord, set up a clock box in two rooms so a TV could be plugged in behind it, removed and relocated a waterfall in our yard. The stucco needed to be chiseled out to add a clock box behind the waterfall. They did a great job on each project. Mark did not worry if the project was large or small, he was willing to take on the job. The price was fair, the workmanship was professional, and there was opened communication. They even cleaned up after themselves. Precision Electric is my go to Electrician Company. Thanks guys!

If you need an electrician, Mark is hands down the best in my opinion. We've hired Mark on multiple occasions for a variety of electrical work throughout our home.

Left a message a couple weeks ago because I needed cat6 Ethernet run in my nearly 50 year old house through the attic to a couple rooms (not an easy task - I had already tried!). For those in a hurry just look at the rating: 5 stars and yes I would use them again and likely will in the near future.
Mark provided us with a decent quote for recessed lighting in two rooms and outside lighting and fan under our awning. The job was split between two days, they actually show up when they said they would (not always the case in construction) and cleaned up after themselves. Efficent work done to code and I am so happy with that.

Mark and his guy (forgot his name) worked on my newly built home to add in a dining room ceiling fan/light junction, an entryway ceiling light hook up, and three kitchen pendant light hookups. Note that this was done after the close of escrow, not during the buildout of the home.

Both of them did a fantastic job, especially considering that they had to work around beams/frames. What I particularly appreciate is them working with me to decide the best course of action whenever they ran into some difficulties.

The initial estimates they gave me were competitive, and the final cost was close to the estimate. They did a clean job and even came back to fix a switch that was turned upside down, even though I could've done this myself.

I definitely recommend Precision Electric and will be using them in the future.

These guys are awesome. I spoke with the owner Mark on the phone and we was very helpful, spend a lot of time talking with me to assess what my electrical issue might be and how and when he could get someone to take a look at it. He had one of his guys out the very next day and my electrical problem was solved super quick and within the initial 1 hour window fee (very reasonable rates for on the spot repair).

My mom had a fire hazard in her bathroom that we just discovered. I called Precision Electric, left a message and got a call back from Mark within 10 minutes. Both Mark and Jason were able to get to her house within about 30 minutes of the call. They were both knowledgeable and professional and got the issue resolved immediately. I had a tiny job but had no idea how to fix it. I called Mark and he actually tried to help me take care of it over the phone so I wouldn't have to spend the money. Some people would take the callout fee without hesitating, even though it's an easy fix, so I really appreciated that.

Jason came out and fixed it, explained everything (without making me feel like an idiot), and was on his way. Both men were great - really personable, prompt and helpful. The entire transaction left me feeling really good about hiring these guys.

Update: Mark just did another job in the crawlspace of my house. After he was done he reported having come across some potential plumbing issues. So I finally went down there myself to evaluate my plumbing and got to see the work from the two jobs he had done - it's all first grade!

A while after moving into our new home we discovered that almost none of the 30+ receptacles were properly grounded. I had 4 companies come in for an estimate. After some email exchanges that were promptly answered we went with Mark, the owner of Precision Electric, who was one of the few companies that took a very thorough look at what needed to be done and how we liked to have it done before even giving us a quote. Mark has a professional attitude and gave a very competitive quote. Although one quote came in slightly cheaper it was from a guy who didn't even disassemble and receptacles to get a better idea of the status of the electrical wiring in the house. Mark even checked out the crawlspace to see whether the wires could be run below the house or would have to be run in the attic. Mark stood out because of his professional attitude and attention to detail.
The work was carried out in a very professional manner and he stood behind his quote, although rewiring some outlets were more challenging than he had estimated. He was also open to additional requests that came up during the job, like installing 3 ceiling boxes for fans, running additional Cat6 cable for Ethernet and making some other changes to the original plan.
Mark was nice and easy to work with, returned phone calls quickly and got the job done right. He was also flexible to ensure the least conflict with our work schedule. His crew also cleaned up nicely after them, but it would have been nice would they have covered the main areas they worked in a bit better as to covering the new hardwood floors before walking on them and not allowing dust to get spread across the house.

There are the go-to guys for a 240V charger for your new electric vehicle. They were recommended to me by one of my friends. Mark, the owner, was able to give an estimate via email based on pictures that I sent. It was much less than other estimates I had received. Once we settled on the work and price, they were able to do the work the very next day. Jason did the work and was extremely efficient and professional. We've used Precision Electric twice in the last couple of years. The first job was extensive and required someone willing to fulfill an unconventional request for outdoors. The reviews were all positive so I took their word and hired Mark. He did an outstanding job. Then recently, we needed work done and he managed to get us set up perfectly even with some complicated maneuvering. I don't think that I could say enough positive things about Precision Electric and its owner Mark Kilbane. I had a whole bank of electrical outlets out at my home for quite some time. I had replaced outlets, changed circuit breakers, etc. I finally broke down and started looking for electricians that were local to my area. I found Precision Electric both on yelp and on service magic. I had sent a request and within 20 minutes Mark had called me back. We set up an appointment for the next day because that was the earliest that I was available. We agreed for a 9:30 a.m. time. Mark arrived at 9:25 a.m. and began work right away. Within the hour he had my problem solved.

I found Precision Electric pricing to be competitive but what I appreciated most was that Mark took a personal interest, arrived when he said he would, gave me pricing up front so I could make an informed decision, and that he is licensed, bonded, and insured. So here I am at 10:30 with the whole rest of my day available for other projects thanks to Precision Electric and their timely and efficient response and repairs.

I completely recommend Mark with Precision Electric. About 6 years ago, when he was just starting out with his company, I had him come out and redo some of the electrical in our salon. He done a thorough job and was precise and on the project. His quality of work was excellent and on top of his game. He will not screw you around and he knows what he is doing. We just completed a whole house remodel of our town home and used Mark for all the electrical. This was a major electrical upgrade including all new LED lights, new kitchen outlets, new location for electric stove, LED under cabinet lights, 220 V for steam shower in MB, moving lights, adding circuits, etc. The job took 4-5 trips over about 8 weeks, working around the other contractors.

Mark is very meticulous and professional in his work. He is a perfectionist and it shows in the final product. He was by far the best contractor on this job and I am so glad we used him. No shortcuts, all quality work, up to code and then some.

I highly recommend Mark for any electrical job, big or small. His prices are fair and he is dependable. He shows up on time and and explains everything in clear concise language. He is A++ in our book, and we would not hesitate to use him again.

I just noticed that there was a response to my review by this owner, and feel the need to respond even as this review is several years old. When I posted my initial review on Yelp my phone immediately blew up and this guy tried to make a boatload of excuses. He was relentless! Would not stop calling and insisted I remove my review. He used the excuse he posted as I must've had the wrong business until I sent him a screen shot of our call lasting 3 minutes ( when I set up the appt he failed to show up for ) then he proceeded to say I was going to cost him business with this review and I told him he should've thought of that before he didn't bother to show and wasted hours of my time. The guy's a pathological liar and if he would've just apologized I probably would've removed my initial review. I never received an apology just threats. His inability to acknowledge it was HIS error ( even when shown he did in fact talk to me ) is concerning in a business owner that you could potentially be allowing in your home.

Long over due review/feedback. To start, bunch of good guys to work with who do quality job. Mark & his team have done bunch of projects at my home (new power panel, EV Charger, 220V outlet, external outlet, etc) and done a great job. Plus, its always good to support local business and I'm happy to support them! They are usually booked for few weeks at a time due to their backlog (which is BTW a GREAT thing) and I hope they continue to stay super busy providing their customers with great service! Mark is excellent; in additional to finding the problem of hall way lights not working that required many sockets juice checks searches which is a solid foundation for issues and can save lots of dollars vs a wall tear out or other not needed work was impressive and sure enough he found just one wire in a circuit causing the problem , repaired and fixed: hall lights, bathroom fan, door bell fixed which was a journey because transformer was underneath the house- really what was builder thinking, scones replaced. Mark is extremely efficient wants to do real electrical work plus enjoys solving and or finding the problem with pride in his work , and the more details you give him on your issues and buy the parts the more money you save. If there's a six rating he gets it.

I asked Precision Electric to come out and estimate some little problems in a house I just purchased. When Mark Kilbane gave me the written estimate I'm quite sure he didn't know it was the Amityville house. The previous owners had done a lot of their own electrical work and the house if filled with what Mark politely called interesting choices in electrical design. No matter, Mark came in and fixed the problems, installed the new stuff, and smiled while he did it. It took extra time to exorcise some of the demons, but Mark stuck with it until the house was clean. After he left he even emailed me to see if I had figured out a problem with a fixture that was malfunctioning -- it wasn't his responsibility, but he took an interest anyway. Oh, and he also sent a written receipt for his work.

The good news (or bad news) is that there is plenty more to be done.

Where should I start? Mark is phenomenal. I called him to get a quote but went to his voicemail so left a message. In couple of hours he called back and we talked about the work that needs to be done which is three new power outlets in the room for my home theatre two on the ceiling and one inside the cupboard. He showed up on time not making me wait and talked about the work that is needed to be done and immediately got started and did a fantastic job. He was close to the quote in fact little less. Exceptional and impressive. Started out on Yelp looking for an electrician to help with a perplexing electrical issue. GFCI kept tripping and was shutting down electrical in various rooms. I was given 4 different companies to communicate with. All were responsive to come for an estimate at $175.00 but, Precision was the only one who offered to try to troubleshoot over the phone. I arranged a time and was able to speak directly with Mark who was attentive and patient. He was able to immediately determine the culprit of the problem which were fountain pumps leaching water into the circuit. Although that had remedied the initial issue, there was a bigger problem that arose. We called back again and arranged for Mark to come out. Once again Mark found the solution immediately and made the repair. His charge was unbelievably low at the cost of an estimate, compared to all of his preliminary effort, time and work. We have found our go-to for all of our future electrical needs, thanks to the OUTSTANDING skills, knowledge and ability of Precision electric and Mark!

No need to look ANYWHERE else! Mark is great! He is very maticulous, clean, neat and fair. Mark came to my house today to install two ceiling fans. Not a easy job at my house since there is no over head light outlets in the rooms. Mark was on time, very friendly and professional. He trouble shooted how to get power to these units, again not an easy thing in my older house with old wiring! Wow, what great experience. Before calling Precision (Mark) we contacted another company that had been recommended. They wanted $95 to just give an estimate and after reading the reviews we didn't want to have them out. So we decided to call Precision, mostly based on Yelp reviews, and from the first phone call to Mark, to the moment the task was completed, we could not have been happier. We had an old fluorescent fixture replaced with canned LED lights and new LEDs in family room and a ceiling fan. Also had an attic fan installed. Mark arrived at 7:30 a.m. and his helper came after getting supplies. All tasks were completed in about five hours and Mark made sure we were in agreement with placement of new lights. We own a very old home (1880) near downtown Livermore. It is a rental home, and while we want to keep it presentable, we don't want to invest much in it.

The other day, some of the electrical failed in the home. After trying my handyman's best, I couldn't resolve the problem. So, I reluctantly started the search for an electrician. I was dreading the arrival of someone who knew little about what they were doing, and the ultimate ridiculously high bill for an iffy fix. I have been down this path. I ended up reaching out to Mark of Precision Electric, and he wrote a different ending for me.

First, he was relaxed but professional on the phone. Next, he found a way to finish up his other work and get to our place the same day. He told me the minimum charge for working the issue (after he asked me a few questions to explain it), He contacted us while heading to the place. He showed up on time. He found the issue quickly, fixed it well, and cleaned up any mess. He charged us only the minimum, which was quite fair.

I now know who I will call with any other electrical work in this or any other home. I recommend Mark for your residential electrical needs.

Couldn't be happier with experience.

Called Mark and left a voice mail, and was called back almost immediately. He first spent about 10 minutes on the phone having me check things to see if the issue could be resolved over the phone. To 'save me some money' Mark said.

Made an appointment later that day, and he was ontime and quickly diagnosed the issue (circuit breaker failing). Didn't have the part on him, so he made a run for a replacement, made the switch, and only charged me the 1 hour initial consultation plus the part.

I needed to get recess lights and 5 in-ceiling speakers installed in my 2013 home. Too bad that I had not taken the options when I bought it new. I needed it done in my 1st floor and hence I was told it is not straight forward. I researched and found Precision Electric and decided to go with them. It was a professional interaction with Mark in getting the quote and scheduling. We scheduled and the first time I was not ready with the speakers and hence I had to move the appointment and Mark was very nice about willing to come back again. Once I got my stuff, was able to quickly scheduled with Mark. He then came with Jason and the 2 of them did a very professional work in installing the lights and the speaker. They were extremely efficient in figuring out the best way to get the wiring done with minimal impact on wall and ceiling. In my case he just got the whole thing done with just a single small circular hole and is very easy to get fixed. They even made sure my home was cleaned up before they left. I would highly recommend Mark and Jason for anyone looking to get similar work done.

Yay! My ceiling fan works again! Contacted Mark by email when I needed a new remote control installed for my ceiling fan. He replied promptly and made an appointment within a day. He arrived on time and quickly went about the installation. He immediately saw that the ceiling fan had not been properly installed initially. Therefore he needed to correct the fan's support before installing the new remote transmitter--so it wouldn't fall on me while in use! Everything was fixed and installed within an hour. I was charged exactly what he estimated with an additional $5 for parts he used to correct the support. Based on reviews here on Yelp, I called Mark with Precision Electric to complete a small job. He was prompt, calling ahead to let me know he would be arriving soon, which is appreciated first thing in the morning! I needed an electrical outlet installed above my stove so we could put in an over the range microwave oven, not a big job, but one we didn't want to complete ourselves. We hadn't removed the existing hood before Mark arrived, but he was kind enough to do that for us. Once that was removed he quickly, efficiently, and neatly finished the job. We had Mark install a wet ceiling fan on an arbor and when he came out to give me a quote he pointed out a few things I could do (framing in the electrical box for instance) to save some money. I didn't have all of them done by the time Mark arrived but he helped me out even though it was on me for not getting them done. He worked quickly and I must say we now have a beautiful wet ceiling fan on our patio. Mark even did a few other projects that I hadn't finished while he was here.

For any electrical project there is no need to call any other electrician. Just call Mark. You won't be disappointed.

Really clean job by an experienced worker. Mark installed lights outside our garage door that go on automatically when it's dark. We originally wanted to hook up lights to a motion sensor above the garage door but he recommended against drilling through a support beam and the extra hardware needed. Other electricians either had elaborate plans or way higher estimates. The LCD setup we have is very power efficient and probably the better solution anyways. Highly recommended!

I called several electricians who gave me quotes without asking much details, which made me wonder how accurate the quotes are. On the other hand, Mark asked a lot of questions and even suggested some alternatives that reduced the cost of the job. He called several times throughout the day to give more suggestions, which made me think he really put some thought into the project. Anyhow, I needed this done quickly so Mark even came out on the weekend since he was already working that day to help me get this installed. He was very professional and friendly - talked me through all the steps as he worked. He is definitely a perfectionist - paid attention to every detail. The best part is that he worked out a solution that used the existing conduits, cutting down the cost of the job dramatically.

This business is awesome! Our power went out. We called a competitor and got an estimate for a bunch of work we didn't need to the tune of $12,100. I was suspicious so I decided to get another estimate. I looked around and found Precision Electric on Yelp. The proprietor, Mark, and I traded voicemails late Friday. He was tired, said he was going to turn off his phone but that I was welcome to send him an email. I sent him the quote I had received. He was outraged. He responded to me well into the night. He asked me to send pics of the panels and he said things didn't look bad but he would have to take a firsthand look. He came on a Saturday--a day when his business wasn't open and when he was booked two weeks out. He found the problem within 5 minutes. A loose screw on a breaker and the switch tripped. My wife and I were ready to sign up for a financing plan to cover the 12 grand. Thank goodness for Precision Electric. Our business will go nowhere else.

I had some recessed lighting installed in the master bedroom and had all the hard-wired smoke alarms replaced throughout the house.

Mark did an excellent job. His cost was less than his quote, which he was able to do over the phone. He answered my call immediately so we didn't have to play phone tag.

He cleaned up after his work and didn't leave a trace. t wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

I called Mark after being referred to him by my handyman. I was looking for wiring for a new ceiling fan and to move a current light switch. Mark was able to give me an estimate over the phone after I described both jobs and my house. I was able to schedule an appointment relatively quickly. Mark showed up on time and was very professional. He did all the wiring for the ceiling fan, but I decided against moving the light switch. Mark even installed the ceiling fan for me, which was completely unexpected. I think I've found the guy for all my electrical needs.

Mark at Precision Electric has done work at my house a couple of times. The work included installing ceiling fans, moving wall outlets, replacing light switches, and hooking up an outdoor outlet. All the work has been of the highest quality. Mark shows up at exactly the time he says he will be at the house. I've also gotten a lot of good advice from him on alternative ways to fix things. I'll continue to use Precision Electric whenever I need electrical work done and would recommend Mark to anyone who needs an electrician.

Uh oh! This was a common utterance by my husband and me when, after deciding to revamp the garage of a 1960's Fremont house we just bought, we found the usual revelation of poor DIY, ungrounded, uncoded, sloppy and dangerous wiring hidden behind the cabinetry. Taking the walls off and looking in the roof space revealed even more than we bargained for. I can only reiterate all the glowing reviews of Mark Kilbane of Precision Electric whom we called to help us fix the mess. Mark is personable, prompt to answer or return calls, shows up when he says he will show up and takes obvious pride in his work. He offered suggestions and gave a range of options so we never felt pushed into anything; he listened to our desires and incorporated them into his work plan; he worked flexibly and without complaint around other contractors, even when there were occasional delays. Our job kept evolving and we added things along the way and Mark handled the changes with aplomb. His rates are competitive and I would say excellent given the quality of the work he delivers and the manner in which he delivers it. Overall, when you hire Mark, you feel you are dealing with an honest, thorough and professional electrician who really knows his stuff and cares about the work he does. Even the city inspector congratulated me on my choice of contractors (my plumber was wonderful too) after he inspected the work that Mark did. I cannot recommend him highly enough; Mark is a pleasure to work with.

We chose Precision Electric as we live in Livermore (so aim to support our local mechanics). We had a very odd situation with an entire wall of outlets blown out in our kitchen. I consider myself to be really very mechanical, but was stumped. In retrospect, I feel a little sheepish because the solution was so obvious. I phoned Mark, (cell phone so I got him immediately), and before he even agreed to come visit, he insisted we walk through and rule out possible scenarios in order to eliminate what the problem could possibly be. Turned out (I surmised) I had dripped water from our pull-out kitchen faucet onto the electrical plug, when I was filling the tank of our coffee machine. My bad. So the Ground Fault Circuit Interruption outlet did its thing, and I had not even noticed it because that particular outlet has a lamp and a phone plugged in there. I put the phone down, went back to the kitchen, and lo and behold, that was the solution. I cleared and then reset the GFCI button, and that fixed the problem. I asked Mark if I owed him anything, and he said no, so I am ever so grateful for this three-minute fix over the phone. What a great guy! Precision Electric is now our electrician for this household. Considering this era of messing with people and taking advantage of them, this was a great experience from a fine, upstanding electrician. Couldn't ask for more.

Just as the other reviews state you will be very happy with Precision Electric. Mark did a Kick A** job on our new LED recessed lighting. You don't want to mess around with electricity. Mark knows what he is doing, works hard, gets the job done fast, and is very thorough. Support local small businesses and give him a try. You might be able to get an unlicensed person that doesn't speak good English for cheaper, and you might die in a fire too when your house burns down if you do that. Do yourself and your family a favor and call Precision Electric.

I had been an electrician for many years and always did my own work. Due to physical limitations, I was in need of hiring one for the first time in my life. I looked at yelp and chose Precision Electric. I called Mark at 7AM and received a call back in less than an hour. Mark informed me that he could come by later that morning and would call when he was available. Mark called at 9:50 and said he would be by at 10AM. He arrived promptly at 10 and reviewed my problem with me and immediately set about isolating a short circuit problem. It required Mark to open several receptacles and switches. Within the hour Mark had found the problem and we discussed what to do. We agreed on the solution and Mark quickly effected the repair. Within an hour Mark had everything back together and working. I was very impressed with his knowledge and professionalism. His rates are competitive and fair. If you want the advise of an old sparky that is particular, you will be glad you hired precision electric. Mark is the consummate pro! Mark was quick to respond for a quick and fair quote for my lighting project. He was professional with his communication, was on time to the job, and completed the job as estimated. On June 21, 2012 Mark Kilbane corrected the wiring on the receptacles in our home garage, added more outlets (inside and out) and did new wiring and new outlet boxes for exterior lighting. Mark does outstanding work and he does it himself. He is a perfectionist, with high standards of workmanship and attention to detail. I would definitely use Precision Electric again and would recommend Mark to family and friends.

We had just bought our house and wanted to upgrade into a Hot Tub and Cook Island. After interviewing several contractors we decided upon Mark. He seemed to understand what we wanted done, and suggested a plan which we talked over and came to agreement. He explained every question I had concerning the proposed work, and even gave tips to help deal with the 2 vendors. He was prompt for appointments, and even filled the Tub on the day he hooked it all up. We are planning more work in the future and will be calling Mark first.

I recently used Precision Electric (Mark) to run a new 50 AMP circuit for a hot tub and hook it up. He came out and gave me a reasonable quote and then did a wonderful job when it came to doing the work. There is a reason his company is named Precision Electric. That is, he is very precise in his work. You can tell he takes great pride in doing a clean and safe job. Interestingly, this wasn't the first time I called Precision Electric (Mark) out to my house. A year earlier I was doing a kitchen remodel and had all new appliances delivered and was freaking out because while reading the installation instructions I convinced myself I needed more capacity and called Mark out ready (well not exactly ready but had resigned myself) to spend some more money. He made time to come out right away so as not to hold up my remodel. He assessed the situation and told me all was okay and didn't charge a penny so my assessment is that he is honest to boot. If you have electric work to be done in the Livermore/Tri-Valley area, give this company a call.

Looking for an competent, professional and reasonably priced electrician, your search is over!! On Friday night the electricity went out in part of our house. I tried a number of companies out of the phone book but found Precision Electric on Yelp and they answered. The owner agreed to come by on Saturday. He was prompt, and really knew his stuff. He had to systematically go through the system until he found the problem. He could have really socked it to me on the cost but he charged me the same weekday rate ($120) for the entire service call. I highly recommend the company and will be telling my family and friends.

I hired Mark, who owns this business, to do about $2500 in electrical work. Though his hourly rate of $100/hr. was more than the average of $80/hr., I decided to hire him because of his immediate availability. He visited my home in person to give me an estimate. He took notes and explained what needed to be done. In fact, he tended to exaggerate the work that was needed and the difficulty. For example, he said that my existing plastic mounting boxes were fragile and should be replaced with metal ones. Then when he came to do the upgrades, he said that the plastic boxes were secure and did not replace them.... talking about bait & switch. Also, he used an assistant who's less experienced so the quality of work was probably not as good. Even with his assistant, he had difficulty threading wires such that he took twice as long as estimated for that task. He kept on complaining how he would be underpaid because it took longer. In fact, he used foul language many times such that I had to leave the room to avoid his moodiness. In regards to quality, he did not tighten a glass lampshade that he installed. Six months later, the glass lampshade fell off the ceiling and broke! Thank God I was not sitting under it 'cause there could have been major injuries and a subsequent lawsuit. Nevertheless, the lampshade set me back about $50. I recommend hiring another electrician because Mark's work is ok at best and definitely overpriced; I think I overpaid by at least $500.
