A tenant at a rental property I managed called shortly after Christmas about a plumbing problem related to the garbage disposal. I called the plumber I normally use, but he was very busy, and couldn't get around to service call for a while. I gave Clairemont Plumbing a call, and Carolynn said that they were busy as well. (I guess the plumbing problems go up during the holidays.) Still, she and Marshall were able to take care of the problem while working around the tenant's work schedule. Marshall came out that day when the tenant got off of work and replaced the garbage disposal.
Even though I had never used Clairemont Plumbing before, they were trusting enough to invoice me for the work, and wait for payment. Since we were getting down to the end of the year, I wanted to be invoiced before December 31st, so that the expense could go in for 2014. Even with all the work they had, I got the invoice before the end of the year.
The best part was that despite the time of year and all the schedule juggling Marshall had to do, the cost of the repair was a couple of dollars less than the identical repair a year ago. (Yeah I know, I am going to have to talk to the tenant about what they put in the garbage disposal around Christmas time.)
