I cant thank Chandlers Plumbing enough. We had a water leak for years and we had to constantly fix it. Now there was a water leak on the other side of our front yard and we were not sure on how to fix it. My son and I were searching for a plumber and came across Chandlers plumbing on yelp. They came by to check everything out and explained everything. Unfortunately, we were in a financial situatuon however Chandlers Pluming was able to accommadate. They understood our problem and found a solution. For that I truly thank them as I had this water leak for years. Not only did they accommadate but the process of getting it fixed was so quick. They even explained and showed us what they were doing changing. It really eased my mind. If another problems ever occur these guys will be the first ill call. Thanks once again Chandler Plumbing!

I was in search for a plumber. It happened to be my birthday and my water heater at my house was leaking and it needed to be replaced ASAP. What a day huh? Not the best birthday, but I called around and landed at Chandler's Plumbing because he quoted me on the spot, no games with pricing saying he needed to do a diagnostic fee to come out like other companies, and said he could get it done in the same day. Rey came out to fix it and did a good job cleaning up. Fast forward to 4 months later and my dad's house had no hot water. I recommended him to Chandler's Plumbing and they came out today to replace it. They were prompt, did a good job, and the plumber helped my dad pry the door open because we didn't have the master key.

Would I hire them again? Absolutely yes! Only downside was that I had to chase Ishmael down for the receipt, but he provided both today and responded to make sure we checked our spam box.

Highly recommend - responsive, upfront flat fee pricing with no surprises, and professional work!

Our water heater died on a Friday at 4:45 pm and started to leak. After moving some things off the garage floor I googled plumbers and came across Chandlers. I called at 4:55, expecting to leave a voicemail and wait until Monday for an appt. They answered right away, asked me about my water heater (and didn't make me feel bad for not knowing the answers!), told me what their total fee would be and the time it would take. They were at our house within 90 minutes and replaced the water heater within a few hours as promised. The tech Ray was helpful, did a great job and left the area clean. We used them again a few days later to replace a faucet and had a good experience again.

So this morning of all days Easter Sunday we had lost HOT water I called a couple places they were not worthy of doing as they were closed. I found 5 star Chandlers plumbing's review showing that they were working every day, I. Called The dispatcher answered ask what my Symptoms were I explained to them I was not getting no pilot light or Or any hot water.
After they trouble shooting I'm going to shot it in the conclusion that we need a new water heater
All installed by dinner on Easter Sunday with warm water and happy faces....

**UPDATE: Chandler's plumber who took off with the supposed recirc unit... lead me to call Navien and their certified technicians. I am now told that there should be 3 pipes going into the machine (one for recirculation), but Chandler plumbing installed 2. Now a certified technician will come out and make all repairs.
1. Installed tankless water heater on a spot not at a proper clearance height. Failed inspection. Had to reinstall machine.
2. Installed tankless heater and water softener with 20 small pieces of (untreated) plywood to hold together. Of course pieces of cut plywood rot with time.
3. Over threaded pipe. Instead of replacing that damaged part, the worker left it untightened and gas leaked. I told Chandler that I smelled gas. He said I was probably smelling carbon monoxide that is released from the machine. I told him that I will call PG&E because the smell did not go away. Chandler's response was I wouldn't do that if I were you. I did call PG&E and they found a gas leak cause by over threading of the pipe that was not screwed in. See pic below.

4. There are currently about 50 holes on the sidings from all the fixes of the poorly installed systems. They are not going to repair that.
5. They installed recirc which another plumber (of Chandler's) said was wrong. He took it off and left my sink unhooked to plumbing and without water. I asked when this will be completed, Chandler's response is leave me alone. and there is no more response.
I am reporting this company to all organizations that can help this company do better and not hurt other home owners.

Recently, our main water line sprung a leak on late Friday evening and started shooting water down our driveway. We were unable to turn off the water to stop this leak, since it was before the main shutoff to the house.

We were lucky to reach Chandlers Plumbing as soon as they opened on Saturday, and they were able to schedule Mario to come fix the issue 9AM the same day. Mario arrived 10 minutes early, worked diligently, and had everything back up and running by 9:30AM.

Our buried main water line is PVC, and rises from the ground near the house to connect to a copper pipe and the main shut off valve for the house. It turns out the PVC connector for the copper had failed. Chandlers Plumbing replaced that entire section (PVC connector to copper pipe to shut off vale to copper pipe), and charged a very fair price for the service.

We reached out to Chandler's to replace our hot water heater and recirculating pump and to see if they could help us to coordinate removing an old, unused water softener and also to replace some damaged sheetrock. They were very polite, quick to get to our home, and technically did a fine job.

The manager or owner and the plumbers at our house were all very polite. They took pride in their work, worked with us to do jobs that were probably beyond their usual scope, and overall we were very happy.

Many plumbers don't strap the water heaters correctly (the lower strap is supposed to be at least 4 from the controls), but this crew did it perfectly.

The one area that could be improved is proactive communication. I did have to keep reaching out to the company to find out what was happening next as there were several steps / visits involved. That said, when I did, the manager or owner responded quickly.

We selected Chandlers Plumbing to replace a gas water heater, with a Santa Clara city permit for this job.
The job was to update an 26 year old installation to new city code requirements. The work passed the city inspection on the first try.
This company deserves a 5 star rating for their work done quickly and correctly.
Geraldo and his assistant were professional and cordial during the whole time they worked in our house. We were happy to ask this company to do a small job to replace a garbage disposal while waiting for the city inspector to arrive.

The main reason we selected this company for this job was the owner would install the gas water heater to fit our needs. He sold what was needed to do the job right, no extra items, at a very down earth cost. To our surprise, this company gave a 3 year labor warranty while ALL other plumbers gave a 1 year warranty.
I recommend ALL potential customers out there to do your own research, talk to the city permit department for requirements, talk to other plumbers, then talk to this company Chandlers. The bid was very reasonable, down to earth, no need to negotiate for a better price. We did not even claim an available 10% discount as we knew the owner already gave us the best price. We wanted a good worker, good job, nothing unexpected during the work. We felt confident in this company after a few phone and email conversations. His words were gold.

Our water heater decided it wanted to break and leak everywhere. On a weekend for crying out loud. This was the first place we called. They were so friendly and said they would come right out. And they did. They had to do extra even because the water damaged the platform it sat on. I couldn't be more happier with the work they did and for them treating us like family. Chandler's plumbing was quick to reach out when I inquired about fixing my broken water heater, even texting me when I was unavailable to talk over the phone.

Our water heater died in the middle of the night. Only figured it out during a luke-warm morning shower. Past experiences had me dreading having to find a plumber.

Found Chandler Plumbing on Yelp. Called them as soon as they opened. Spoke with the owner, Ishmael. He was no nonsense and straight to the point. He listened to my situation, asked some follow-up questions and then quickly laid out my options and left me to decide my next move. I really appreciated not being pressured into a hasty decision.

He gave me a reasonable quote and told me his guys would arrive within 2 hours. Sure enough, Geraldo and his assistant showed up on time and prepared to solve my situation.

These guys were incredible! Clean, thorough, and expertly skilled in their trade. I especially appreciated the special attention to detail that Geraldo had in everything he did.

My situation was a bit more complicated than a straight forward water heater replacement. We discovered that the previous installation wasn't exactly safe. The existing gas line was wedged between the water heater and a furnace return duct. So the decision was simple, the gas line needed to be rerouted. And Geraldo jumped on it without a second thought.

The quality of their work was excellent and clean! I'll be calling for Geraldo next time I'm in need of any plumber work, without a second thought!

We called Chandlers Plumbing first thing this morning to replace a broken toilet. The new toluene was here but we knew we were not able to do the work ourselves. Contacted Chandlers Plumbing they sent two fantastic guys out here (Javar & Paul, apologies if the name is misspelled). Chandlers Plumbing completed a copper re-pipe project for my home. I was pleasantly surprised by the number of resources assigned by Ishimael. The repipe project finished in time as Ishimael estimated.
Ishmael also worked with the the city building inspector to make sure the permit is approved and finalized.

It has been a pleasure working with Ishimael and the crew. I appreciate the accurate estimate both in terms of cost and leadtime, as well as the expertise the guys bring from the initial dry wall cutting, new copper pipes install/welding, dry wall re-install, mud and drywall texturing.

I have an old type shower with two control valve . The shower started to leak. I tried to replace the washer three times, it still does not work. I called Chandler Plumbing on Sunday . My hot water heater was leaking. I called Chandler and told him that my water heater was leaking. He gave me a quote over the phone (estimate). Showed up within a couple hours. I had mistakenly told him that it was a 40 gal tank, but when he got here he realized it was actually a 50 gallon. He called one of his plumbers and told them to bring him a 50 gallon tank. He disconnected the tank while waiting for the replacement. Once the new tank arrived him and his other workers installed it right away, charged me what he had quoted over the phone.
Very professional, I will definitely call him for any future plumbing needs.

Quoted for a project to move pipes and drain by a few inches under the sink. He asked to contact him on his phone. Via sms he didn't ask for any details or explained his pricing, just stated $4,5k.

Both me and my male partner received quotes 4 (around $1000 whole project cost) times lower than this.
Clearly he is a misogynist and scammer. The price is ridiculous and I feel like he tries to take advantage of females.

I have used Chandler's Plumbing twice in the last 5 months. The first time was to fix a water main leak and the second to replace the water heater. They provided excellent service both times. Ish answered my call and was able to send someone out the same day or the next, something many other companies were not able to do. Their price is also reasonable and they do not charge to diagnose the problem. The crew, Paul and Gerardo, were friendly, punctual and knowledgeable. I had a great experience with Chandler's Plumbing and will use them again!

Our house main sewage was clogged and called Chandlers Plumbing for help. It turns out I need a two way clean-out to be able to run the snake to remove roots growing in the pipe near the front yard. Ray and Anthony are very responsive and efficient in digging the main pipe out and installed the clean out the next day, all done within several hours. Definitely recommend for plumbing needs.

He and his coworker were very professional and within a hour and half the installation of a new water heater was completed. They also hauled away the old water heater.

Dire situation: puddle of water on garage floor on Saturday due to broken water heater; a weekend nightmare. From a reference, I contacted Chandlers Plumbing early Sunday morning and got a quote and an appointment. Ishmael arrived within one hour for a thorough assessment. After 2 hours, problem was taken care of with a brand new Rheem's top-of-the-line Performance Platinum water heater that was professionally installed, even the garage floor was spotless cleaned. Excellent service: punctual, quality work, reasonably priced, courteous but tentatively friendly. I am very happy with the experience with Ishmael, who represents Chandlers Plumbing. My renters called me today and they said they didn't have hot water in the house. I went on line and found Chandlers Plumbing. I called and Ishmael answered. I asked if he can install a water heater around 3pm today, June 23, 2021. He started installing the water heater approximately 4pm as he stated. He was done in no time. He was fast and reliable. Ischmael was super responsive, knowledgeable, and did excellent work. We needed a main line replacement ASAP due to a short timeline to sell our house and get final permitting done. Ishmael was quick to respond and was able to quickly get a quote for us. There was a minor leak in the main water pipe line at ~8pm. I was new in the neighborhood, so called 5 different plumbers based on good Yelp reviews and only Chandlers Plumbing responded within minutes. I got a quote from the owner on Wednesday for a repiping my water lines only. On Saturday his 5 man crew showed up to do the work. They put runners down to protect and keep the floors clean. I have a crawl space under my house that is a fine dirt and it flys everywhere. They are doing the work and took a few photos of all the other pipes under the house. They really needed to be replaced as the are over 70 years old. It was suggested that I replace everything and I agreed and the work now turned into a two day job. The workers could not have been more respectful and careful of not dirtying of my home. They did not try to up sell any other services as many contractors do. I replaced my toilet as well as faucets and I could not be happier.
I have used 6-9 different plumbers over the years and was never happy with the results.
Chandler Plumbing is by far the best plumbers I have ever hired. All pipes have now been replaced and I don't expect any problems in the near future. A few issue I had as a result of bad work by other plumbers was fixed by Chandler Plumbing.
****(Tip for crawl space home owners)****
You Must put up a Plastic Wall to keep your house clean!!!!!!! Create a walk way for the workers to move around as needed but block off all other areas with plastic sheeting. We used 2mm plastic sheeting on the second day but the damage was done.
Plumbers do plumbing not taping up plastic sheeting. They put runners down to protect the floors and catch any dirt that may be track thru the house. I should not need another plumber for 15-20+ years.

They added 2 clearing access points so I can also empty my rv tanks at my house. They came as scheduled and were done in 3 days. I found Chandler Plumbing through Home Advisors where he was highly rated. Chandler the owner showed up right away when there was a pipe leak above my water heater which flooded the heater. Chandler gave me a reasonable quote complete with fixing the dry wall few days after the water had dried up. The work was done on the same day, water heater replaced, and they cleaned up the area. They did a great job! I was feeling a little wary if they would follow up on fixing the dry wall after over 2 weeks. I texted Chandler and right away he replied with promise of getting it fixed the following day. And it did!

Am really very appreciative by the way Chandler stood by his word and work with much integrity.

I can recommend him highly. As a single woman, i had been tricked many times by plumbers, with high price, lousy work. Chandler works with quality and as such i hope his business thrives, and with his work ethics, it would!

Ray is the best plumber we have ever encountered! He is professional, nice, fast, reliable, honest, and knows what he is doing! He wore a mask in 100 degrees weather during the heat wave outside! Even though he was working hard and dripping in sweat he didn't take any short cuts. He made sure our plumbing through the house was unclogged and reassure us that if anything happens in 30 days he will take care of it! This is the best service I have ever had and I highly recommend anyone who wants a honest plumber to come fix their plumbing. Had a broken shut off valve that needed replacement. Sent out a Yelp help and Chandlers Plumbing responded. Asked for a picture of the broken valve and gave an estimate. Was able to schedule the work in a matter of minutes and one of their technicians, Ray, came out and looked at the valve and needed to get the appropriate parts. Returned within a hour and had the job completed. All this within a 4 hour window. A few of the plumbers required a fee for just doing an estimate and was time saving that Chandlers Plumbing was able to bid without a visit and have the technician make a visit to assess the job. A big time saver and convenience.

Chandler's provided me with excellent service. I needed a new kitchen faucet. I'm disabled. Ishmael was able to pick out and purchase an excellent replacement.

We called Chandler's Plumbing in an emergency situation, our water heater was leaking and we had to shut off the water supply . He showed up within couple of hours, gave us free estimate. He started draining the water from the old heater and by the time it was done, he came back with new water heater. Replaced it, added the bottom tray, repaired the valve and was done within couple of hours. We would recommend him for this work.

I was very impressed with Chandlers Plumbing. They arrived between the given window and started work right away. He replaced my Hot and Cold stem valves in my tub, due to water leakage, Chandler explained and showed me the problem before replacing the stems. They were worn and needed to be replaced. He also replaced the knobs. Less than an hour the work was completed. Thank you so much!

He and one of his workers came out the next day and the work was done in just over an hour. Needed to get my water heater replaced as previous one was quite old. Chandlers Plumbing contacted me quickly after I inquired on another website. They asked for pictures of my current water heater setup and what type I was looking to replace it with and they were able to provide a quote based on that. The price was very competitive compared to a vendor that had contacted me from Home Depot so I went with Chandlers. The installer removed and replaced my water heater with the one I had requested and was done in about 3 hours time.

I have used Chandler's Plumbing several times for small things (toilet valve type of stuff) and also big projects (replacing water heaters). They have always been professional, thorough, and competitively priced (though not very punctual). The price always ends up as quoted or very close. Most recently we had an issue with a leaking water heater that resulted in some mold growth/drywall damage. Ishmael was able to quote a complete solution (mold remediation, drywall repair, replace water heater and leaking valves), meaning I didn't have to reach out to multiple companies and try to coordinate all their schedules together. After I pointed out that his workers tracked dirt all over the carpet, Ishmael immediately offered to pay to have the carpets cleaned (i.e. he took responsibility rather than making excuses). I would absolutely recommend them for any plumbing project, big or small.

I've used Chandler's Plumbing for various things over the years and have been happy. They have added copper pipe to our kitchen, remodeled a bathroom and repiped another house we had with copper. In some cases things were not 100% correct (swapping hot/cold) but when notified they would come back and fix things or make things right. I also like how they use some sort of tracking software where you receive text messages on location status for the plumber and scheduled times.

Chandlers put in a new hot water heater for me on a rental property that we had for sale and then strapped a hot water heater in the basement. A couple of professionals came and determined that the heater in the basement could not be strapped and at first one of the plumbers at Chandler said the same thing but I complained that the buyers insisted and they went back out and got the job done. Spent a ton of money to have my drainage disposal replaced at chandlers plumbing recommendation. Got jammed in a couple of months. They claimed it's only a 30 day warranty so ended up being quite convenient for them. Other plumbers do installations with 5 yr warranties. Never using these guys again.

I called Chandlers Plumbing about a leak under my sink and they came out the next morning to provide a free estimate. Gerardo, with Chandlers, showed up right on time, wearing a mask. He looked under the sink and told me that the garbage disposal had come loose and showed me how to tighten it if it happened again. He was super friendly, and I appreciated his honesty. No charge for coming out. I would definitely use Chandlers again.

Would not recommend based on my experience with their bad communication and customer service. Needed a sewer line repair and called for an estimate. They were prompt in answering the phone and sending someone out. Were even great to send an email confirming estimate was scheduled. After inspecting the project, we were told they would email an estimate.

After a phone follow up and an email follow up, I've heard nothing from them for a week. Given lack of communication or follow up, it would appear they aren't interested in doing a $5k+ project.

Initial Call - got the quote up front and they came the next day. Since they dispatched Evan to do the job, this review is primarily on Evan.

Attitude - Awesome, very friendly and honest.

Behavior - Very professional.

Punctuality - Right on time.

Work - Excellent performance. It was done right the first time.

Overall - Superb plumber

The job was to change the shower cartridge, which caused a minor leakage in the shower. I bought the parts in advance and he fixed it right on the spot. The only slight disappointment was the fact that I wasn't able to use the WEB20 coupon code that I saw on their website. Either way, I'm really satisfied with their service and will highly recommend Evan from Chandler's Plumbing for anyone in need of plumbing service. I will definitely refer them to friends in the future if any plumbing is needed. I did not get a discount for writing this review so you can trust my unbiased opinions.

Had to fix a broken sink. Evan went above and beyond the call of duty. The sink that had to be replaced was very hard to find. He spent the extra time to look for it (which happened to be in Sunnyvale!).

After he found the sink he gladly installed it the same day.

What can I say about chandler's Handyman service.... I found my handyman
i gave them 4 star's since they had to push back their appointment from
1:00pm - 1:30 no problem. We they got here he took a look at the leak that
i had going in my garage. Well he told me that a part of the pipe that got
all corroded needed to be replaced. Well he said he had to go and get
the part and he would be back 15 minutes later he was back that was
fast. Took out the old part and put the new one in. Not so easy the part
he bought didn't come with a washer so back he goes again to get a washer. finally this time he takes a little longer to get back i would say 20 not to bad. As soon as he got back put on the washer had me check the water pressure in the house. Now we are back in business.

As for the price he charges I didn't get to shop around so I would say his price is probably a little less than what other plumbers would charge.
I would highly recommend him if you need any kind of handy work done.
By the way ask for Ishmael he is the best .

Professional and great service. I especially recommend Evan and Miguel if you want plumbing done. They're funny, friendly and professional. My house has gas leak, and they came to fix it then everything now in my house is ok. Miguel told me if PG&E don't turn on the gas outside my house, just call him (PG&E guys have to do that but they didn't do). And Miguel is a one way call. He and Evan were willing to be back to my house and double checked and turn it.

I had them install a hot water tank in 2016. That unit went out this past weekend. I called them and they told me they could not help me. I called someone else who told me that the tank was defective. Called them back this morning only to be told the same thing and be yelled at. When I asked for the manager it was who I was talking with. I called the manufacturer to find out that my warranty was voided because they install a hot water tank not rated for my manufactured home. I have NO satisfaction from this company except that I will be suing them for the damage to my hot water closet, filed a complaint against them for selling and installing a product not rated for my home, and writing this review. I was not pleasant on the phone for I am extremely frustrated and insulted by this person who manages/owns this company. When I said something like you treat your customers like this the response is that he will not be taken advantage of. I feel taken advantage of. He did offer to come out but after finding out that the unit was NOT under warranty and having the heated discussion with them over the weekend and today I would not trust them.

Hmmm What can I say. As said in the other comments below Ish is a very nice guy and that's that. I am a Chief Engineer of a property which our company wants the plumbing job outsourced. I had him scheduled to do a job on a Saturday which he did show up on time. There was miss communication with the front desk and they sold the room which Mr. Chandler was going to work on. Therefor we had to reschedule. I rescheduled for the following Tuesday which I called him 2 days before that I had to reschedule because I had to go to the hospital and That I would let him know when he can come in.

The following Saturday I called him to see if he can come in to do the job. He offered to do it this coming Thursday. When Thursday came around I waited till 1:00pm to see if he was coming in. NO CALL NO SHOW He told me that we did not confirm it to do it this Thursday and he couldnt do it that day because he was doing a tub install. Which is not the case because we both agreed that he would do the install when I called on Saturday. Okay so again we both agreed to do it the following Thursday which is today 4/23/15. AGAIN NO CALL NO SHOW

When I called, Chandler told me that he cannot do the job and that he was super busy. THAT'S WHAT APPOINTMENTS ARE FOR BUDDY It has been 3 weeks with the room out of order 2 weeks of which it is chandlers fault.

From my perception of Mr. Chandler and from reading all the yelp reviews is that he is very new to having a business. I even asked Mr. Chandler for his W-9 form so that he could be in my companies books. He asked me what a W-9 Form is....... Really?????

I hope this review can help others NOT make the same mistake as I did. If he gives you any excuses do not give him any benefit of the doubt, move on to the next plumber.

Mr. Chandler I know you are going to read and perhaps reply to my review, my message to you is be LOYAL to your customers and do not give them the run around.

Customer service receptionist is kind and easy to work with, but plumber never showed up to scheduled service, nor called to let me know that I shouldn't wait for him. So for a 3-4pm appointment, I began tidying prior to 3, and waited until 4:30, essentially wasting all of my time prior to 5pm when other plumbers begin charging a premium for 'after hours' services. So now I'm waiting until tomorrow, and have to leave this yucky mess overnight... Needless to say I am not in the least bit happy about this.

Chandler replaced a toilet for me. He was promptly on time and did a clean job. The only reason I'm not giving him a 5 star is because he didn't completely check his work after he was finished. I found the newly installed toilet to not be securely bolted to the bathroom floor. Luckily he hadn't left my driveway yet so I called him to come back and check his work. No issues though, he came back, checked and saw that the toilet basin slightly slides when pushed with force, so he got his tools and wrenched down on the floor bolts and finally properly secured it.

All in all a good experience, but I might have had a very different review if I had not checked the workmanship. My only recommendation for Chandler is to double/triple check his work before he leaves. Other than that he was very courteous and got the job done on time. Thank you Chandler.

Unfortunately I was not a happy customer from using Chandler's Plumbing. I made an appointment for a leak in my cold water piping connected to my water heater. I know a few things about plumbing so I am confident that I was not going to get riped off. They send you a text message as to who will be arriving at your home. Unfortunately the service person who was to show up got changed at last minute and I didn't get the text in time before their tech Charles shows up. He comes in and is only supposed to give me a quote. He strongly suggests that I re-pipe my house and gives me a verbal quote. Now I do need to do this, but I just wanted to get a quote for the fix I needed. He immediately starts to look at my pipe and starts working on it with a silicon wrap. Now bearing in mind he has said NOTHING about doing any work. Being that I don't know about the silicon wrap I ask what is that for? He says to stop the leak. No pricing has been discussed from him to me. Ultimately his trick doesn't work and he says well its not working... Well duh? I can see that. I suggest to him that putting a clamp on it for now might be a good temporary solution. Next thing he says is I will get one out of my truck, well that didn't happen. I was standing at my door waiting for him to come back and he left. Not a word to me! He ended up going to Home Depot to purchase a clamp as I suggested. Once he put it on within 2 mins. he says okay. I guess I was suppose to know what that meant but I am not a mind reader so I said what? He goes on to tell me he is going to charge me $155.00. I ask for what? He then proceeds to tell me what the charge is for....so now he tells me about the money. Due to the fact that he didn't communicate we any of this to me, I explain that I would not pay that amount, due to him not giving me the quote prior to services rendered, so that I could choose to hire him or not. Frankly I put an a clamp on the same pipe and wasn't about to pay this guy that amount. I offered $75..00 and we settled on $100.00.

Upon his departure I asked him to send me a receipt for the money I had paid him and a quote for re-piping of my home. I only received the receipt for my money spent. I guess Chandler Plumbing has enough money that they don't need my thousands of dollars for another service. But do have the ability to send someone over within approximately 2-3 hours of my request, and this was only 5:00pm.

I don't recommend this company at all. You chose ...but as far as communication goes...they are lousy. I was not impressed and won't be back and will take my future business to a company that wants my money and can communicate properly. Very dissapointed.

Where to begin? I was pleasantly surprised that Evan was knocking on our door almost two hours before the scheduled time. He quickly assessed the leaking trap situation and applied some putty and silicon tape and Presto! He was done. Also, he took the time to show me a handy, inexpensive gadget that cleans out the goop that accumulates in the trap. Evan was professional and so very polite. I will highly recommend Chandlers Plumbing to our friends,and Chandlers will be the first call for future plumbing jobs. Oh yes...he didn't charge us a dime. Best plumber ever. Thank you, Evan!

I was very pleased with the service I received from Chandler. The work was completed in reasonable time and when his worker accidentally broke a piece of tile, he took complete responsibility for it. When they couldn't find a piece of tile to match, he authorized a tile man to come and redo my entire bathroom floor. That's great service with integrity.

Before you decide to call him, please do yourself a favor and read this review. I originally wrote a review for him but decided to change it because I had to call him back and I wanted to give the full story.

Chandler is a nice guy at first. But when it comes to doing things the RIGHT way or the QUICK way, he definitely chooses the latter.

I hired him to do a few things around the house that I could do myself, just didn't have the time to do. Re-caulk 3 showers/tubs, fix weird sound from toilet, and install 2 faucets.

CAULKING:

Don't believe the hype...

...is what Chandler told me when I asked why the caulking job he did wasn't straight and even, and why he didn't bother to use tools like a caulking gun or tape to straighten out his lines. A quick google/Youtube search on how to caulk a bathroom yielded a plethora of How-To guides and prices for the exact tools used to caulk a bathroom. So yes, there are tools to do the job right.

Nobody uses tools, just the caulk and a wet sponge. That's just how I was taught. I bet you anything if we call anyone RIGHT NOW they will say they don't use tools.

Make a bet with the handyman about how to do his job? This conversation was killed before it even started.

TOILET:

Fill valve kept making a sputtering noise right before it finished. He replaced it with a new one, but then it kept making a high pitched refill sound. I had to call him back to check it out even though truthfully I didn't want to.

That's just how it sounds. We can check with the other toilets in the house if you want but it sounds normal to me.

At least he didn't try to bet me this time. I told him that all 3 toilets in the house were the same, inside and out. This one you tried to fix sounds the worst. He looked me in the eye and said It sounds normal to me.

After comparing flushes, he seemed confused trying to figure out what the problem was. After turning on and off the water in the house a few times and wasting a bunch of water flushing, he concludes that he doesn't know and that it's the first time he's dealt with this problem. We move on to the other faucet he installed, one bolt was loose causing a leak. An easy fix but if I hadn't checked his work thoroughly I'd have bigger problems on my plate.

We came back downstairs and he had another look at the toilet. After some more investigating he says the valve behind the toilet needs to be replaced and a quiet fill valve needs to be installed. He goes off to the store to get one, he replaces both parts and then it's sounding normal now.

PRICE:

Expensive for the quality of work he did. For the money, I expected a lot more and definitely didn't expect having to call him again to fix his own work.

BEWARE:

While polite, he's not honest with his diagnosis and tries to hustle his way out of doing quality work. He will try to insist things are fine or normal when they clearly aren't. Though the faucets are installed and the toilet flush is normal now, I had to spend extra time monitoring him the second time to make sure he did it right. I also have to re-caulk the tubs/showers again now because it looks sloppy.

CONCLUSION:

If you want things done right with good communication and close attention to detail, DO NOT hire Chandler. This was my first time hiring a handyman and to be honest, I would have rather lost sleep and do the work myself than hire him again.

I also agree with another reviewer on here that I hate to give him such a low rating because he was nice at first, but judging from his quality of work I couldn't possibly recommend him to anyone.

I had a terrible experience with Chandler's Plumbing. These guys are not professionals and do not care about customer needs. They are always late to visit the house and mislead the customers. I needed to get some plumbing work done and asked Chandler to do the job. He sent an inexperienced guy who was late by 30mins and then kept calling Chandler (his boss) to seek advice. Why did Chandler send an inexperienced dude and waste my morning?

I then asked Chandler to come himself or send another plumber in the evening at 6pm. He agreed in writing and we settled on a price for the job. Since no one showed up at 6pm, I texted Chandler. To my shock, he said they will not come! What? Then why did you commit to me in the morning? If you were not willing to come then you should have told me in the morning, so I could have looked for another plumber.

I will NEVER hire Chandlers Plumbing again and advice other potential customers to look for other professional plumbing companies out there.

I called half a dozen plumbers to bid on water heater installation, Chandler's was in the middle, but seemed to offer more value. Evan showed up right on time and was thorough in setting up plumbing. Once the heater was ready to be installed, it was faulty (manufacturer's issue, not Chandler's). I had purchased it so I did the groundwork to replace and Chandler sent another plumber the next day to complete. I've now worked with owner and Evan and two Ray's who all seem to want to satisfy the customer and do good jobs, instead of upselling like many others.

Should have gotten a plumber. I absolutely hate to give this guy a bad review because he was really nice and like everyone else mentioned, he was very prompt.

But buyers beware: while he does have a business license, he doesn't have a plumbing license. So, he is strictly a handyman. I learned this the hard way when we hired him to tighten the water valves (?) before installing our new washer/dryer set. We called him and he told us he'd be able to make it that same day, giving me an ETA. He actually came an hour early and was friendly and polite.

While trying to tighten the valves, I guess he yanked too hard or something, because all of a sudden, I heard a crack and water started pouring out of our wall. Immediately he started swearing and asking why didn't anyone turn off the water? (Uhh, I thought that was your job...) We tried the water shut-off valve to our apt, but it didn't work.

Total damage: we had to hire a contractor to replace the wall, fix the wiring in the wall, and dry our carpet (which took a week). We hired a licensed plumber to fix our valves and apparently, the handyman had broken the pipe entirely. The water seeped through three floors (we live in a condo complex) and ruined two sets of ceilings.

He's a great guy, just not a real plumber. At least we did not have to pay him.

I hired Chandler to come finish-up an existing job for me. The job entailed minor rework and energizing of the electrical system, putting down plywood in the attic, minor paint, odds and ends and property cleanup.

In the beginning I was quite happy and was all set to give Chandler 4 stars until about 1/2 way through the project when Chandler wanted more money. Chandler charges by time and not by the job. So after 3 days work he came to me and said this was going to take longer than originally estimated and he would need 25% more money. I suppose this is okay, but an unhappy surprise nonetheless.

Painting was a bit sloppy and I had to ask for a second cote in places where I could still see the patching compound through the paint. there was also splatters on the floor, toilet and a couple drops in the carpet which we had to ask for him to cleanup. Also paint brushes and whatnot were washed near my front door turning all my nice soil there white. (I have rocks, dump it in the rocks.)

Finally, a significant part of the task was property cleanup. When he came by for final payment, I looked around an found a truck load of rubbish that still needed to go to the dump.

All-in-all I like Chandler and would hire him again, but I wouldn't give him any painting and I would portion the work into individually priced tasks to avoid surprises.

We used Chandler a few months ago to fix a toilet leak. He showed up on time and fixed the problem, and it has stayed fixed. I asked if he could put in a dog door and he said yes, so the next day he returned and installed a dog door. This was harder than it may sound, and I am now glad I didn't try to do this myself.

In both cases we were given a flat and reasonable rate for the job, and then the job was done quickly and professionally. Also both times Chandler brought an assistant (trainee?) so he could concentrate on the main job and have someone else getting a tool or cleaning up. Highly recommended.

I cannot begin to express how difficult it is to find this level of quality, professional service in the Valley.

I called a few other handymen, and they were scheduling out 1 to 4 weeks! I called Chandler's Handyman Service, and he came out in a few hours.

I had a small job involving a gas line, which wasn't something I wanted to get involved with. It turns out that the previous homeowner (I haven't even moved in yet) did some scary stuff that didn't really make any sense, and I honestly don't know if it made the job easier or just weirder. Ishmael probably could have argued against doing what I asked, which involved a trip to the hardware store, but it made me feel better. And he came down on the price after completing the job. I thought he was personable, professional, and reasonable.

After reading the good reviews on Chandler Handyman I decided to give him a try for a leaking pipe behind my mom's washing machine.
He was right on time and quickly found the problem. We set another appointment to have it fixed since he would need to buy the parts necessary to make the repair. His quote was extreamly reasonable.
He not only repaired the pipe under the house but also repaired the damaged sheetrock due to the leak behind the washer. I would agree with other reviews he did excellent work, fair price, and all around great customer service.

I've called Ishmael twice and been very pleased both times. Here's what happened:

Nov 2010: Just before Thanksgiving weekend, the gargage disposal died. Thanksgiving, people! We were naturally expecting company and obviously needed a functional kitchen. Called Ishmael on a Sunday and he came out within a couple of hours. Yes, you read that right. On a Sunday. Revived the disposal in about a minute.

Last night: Another kitchen sink issue. The disposal is running but the sink won't drain. Okay so it's not Thanksgiving, but when things we use all the time break it seems like the world is ending. Called Ishmael and he came out this morning. It was a clogged pipe which he again fixed in about a minute.

Ishmael is prompt, reasonably priced, and extremely friendly. Just a very nice guy who I will call again in a heartbeat the next time something breaks.

Thank you YELP for finding me the best handyman I could possibly find in the bay area. Ishmael is professional, knowledgeable, and thoroughly likeable. He arrived 15 minutes ahead of time, and had to wait for me to return from dropping my son off to school (first time a handyman has done that!). I had a few leaky taps and a dripping pipe, and it was all taken care of without any fuss.
His prices are reasonable and he doesn't pretend that the issue is bigger than it actually is.
He is polite, confident, and knows his job. I can't ask for anything more than that from a handyman. Highly recommended.

Thanks Evan for outstanding service! After wasting over $4,000 with Mike Consil Plumbing and two other companies trying to get a shower leak fixed, Evan found the issue in minutes and fixed it that day. His latest visit was on a Sunday to replace a newly installed AquaRex water conditioner when he found that a new version for electric water heaters was released. I can't thank Evan enough for his great diagnostic skill, his drive to resolve problems at a reasonable price and his outstanding follow-through to make sure we were satisfied. Evan came to fix the clog pipe within 24 hours I called. The pipe is under a bathroom sink. After his work, there were dirty spots all over the place. He cleaned them up although I offered to do it myself. He also checked a few other pipes for free and gave me a ton of advices to maintain the whole pipe system, including water heater. I get quotes from a few plumbers, and his price is among the lowest. I would definitely recommend him if you are looking for quality work with low price.

I called Chandler's Handyman Service to hook up a couple sinks. He came out the day after I called him and assessed the situation. One sink needed new pipes in the wall, so he said he'd cut out the wall and change the pipe. He also said he'd have his drywall guy come out and patch up the wall and it would look really good. There was also some drywall damage from the old sink and he said the drywall guy would fix that up too. The other sink just needed the p-trap added and it was good to go.

Two days later, he came out and did the work (took a little more than an hour, which included a trip to Home Depot). He showed up a couple hours late, which is not a big deal. In sink #1 he cut out the hole in the wall like he said he would, but the wall was not patched up. Now I've got a hole approximately 12x4 in my drywall and the previous damage was not touched. In the other sink, he added the p-trap but didn't do anything else (he didn't even make sure the drain stopper was working).

For a little more than an hour of work (essentially just setting up 2 p-traps), it came out to $300. I don't know any licensed contractors that charge $300/hour, let alone a handyman. Other professions that don't charge $300/hour: doctors, lawyers, accountants, psychologists, personal trainers, and high-end prostitutes. It'd be different if the work was labor-intensive like ditch digging, cement laying, or wood chopping, but this was literally putting pieces of plastic together...something a parapalegic with a book could do.

In fairness to him, that's the price he quoted me, but he said that $300 would include fixing the wall he cut and having the sinks completely set up. He did less than half the work he said he would. Maybe my standards are too high, but when I pay a guy to do specific things and doesn't do them, I am not pleased.

I did not call him back to do the work he said he would do because I figured if he was going to do the work, he would have done it the first time. However, if Ishmael reads this and wants to honor his word about fixing the wall, I wouldn't turn him down and I'd update my review...but something tells me I shouldn't think my phone is broken when he never calls. As it stands right now, it'd be an understatement to say I'll never use this handyman service ever again. Ishmael is lucky that I don't stop payment on the check I gave him. If he had any integrity, he'd come and finish the work...then again, if he had any integrity, he would have finished the job the first time.

My water heater failed on Saturday. Chandlers came on Sunday to look at the problem; arrived early. He agreed to install a new water heater on Monday. based on my selecting a water heater--I had a specific water heater I wanted.

He did buy and deliver a water heater Monday AM. It turned out it was not the one I selected as the one I selected was not in stock. The water heater he selected was better (i.e., more efficient) than the one I selected AND due to PGE rebate program was no more expensive than what I had selected!

The workers that did the installation were on time, courteous, and cleaned up after themselves.

I would not hesitate to use Chandlers Plumbing again, especially in an urgent situation.

Well, you can tell you have made the right choice in a plumber when they come to the house and don't charge you a dime ! I thought I had a kitchen faucet leak, beneath the sink, when that turned out not to be the case. Plumbers typically have a minimum charge, to make a house call. For this reason, and my past other experiences with Chandlers, I would rate them as a 5 star in resolving your plumbing concern. He guarantees his work so you can rest assured the problem is solved. Ray come out to the house exactly at the scheduled time and cleared a very serious sewer clog for me. He was very professional and courteous. I want to first and foremost thank all of you reviewers here for recommending Chandler. After using him to fix my (extremely) clogged kitchen sink, there is no doubt in my mind he has been able to maintain a full five star rating here on Yelp. Not only was he friendly, he showed up right on time (a little bit early, in fact), performed the service as requested, and charged me less than half of what his commercialized competitors would.

I highly recommend that any of you call him for necessary plumbing work (and from what I hear, handyman work as well).

To compare, a competitor I called earlier in the day informed me that he could not make it until 5pm, and an additional after 4pm charge of $100 would be assessed on top of the service. That amount alone was more than what I paid for even better service from Chandler.

Chandler is Fantastic! We highly recommend his service.

We had a bad shower leak and the access to fix the parts were limited due to tiling.

We first contacted a plumbing company with big advertisement on the yellow book. BIG MISTAKE!! The first technician came and didn't know what he was doing. The second technician came and we were told that he would need to open a hole in the wall in order to replace corroded piping - a whole day job. Their estimate was outrageous.

As we were not comfortable with this job, we went online and found Chandler at yelp. As soon as we called and described the leak issue, he seemed to understand what needed to be replaced right away. He gave us an estimate over the phone which was 1/10th of what we were given by the other plumbing company.

The next morning, he showed up as scheduled and fixed the leak in 10 minutes!!! Unbelievable!!!

Me being a single mother with a full time job, it's hard to get around to some jobs around the house; I'd rather avoid them all together... But my leaking toilet was something I could not avoid. I heard threw a friend that there was a nice, professional and affordable Handyman. So I decided before I just took my friends advice to look up on YELP and see if I could get any other opinions. I typed in handyman and my friend's suggestion was at the top of the list. My story short, he came on time, dressed like a handyman should, I suppose and ready to work. He fixed my problem and while there he noticed the annoying beeping from my fire alarms and fixed that as well. I would recommend all who is in need of a handy man to use Chandler's service. I hate being a party-pooper too and was so happy thinking I'd found a handyman service both my mother and myself could trust after some bad experiences. Well...my mother asked that I not call them again to work at her house. First, I'm given one estimate on the phone and my mother gets a different one once he arrived. I was not told I need to see the job first to give a quote; it was a matter-of-fact type of answer on the charge. That was an irritant but it happens all the time and possibly I misunderstood (which I don't think I did but we'll give him the benefit of the doubt).

The deal-breaker though was that once he was finished he had the nerve to ask my 84 year-old mother if she'd pay part of it in cash!! That's after he scared her by following her into her office (uninvited) to ask her that;. She's not stupid enough to keep cash in her house and told him so. Think about what was going through her mind I'm 84 years old, in my house alone with a strange man and this man's asking me if I have cash!!

The quality of the work is fine but I really question his judgement.

This is second job I've hired Ishmail@Chandler's to work on. Did a variety of things: Fixed laundry drain in garage, repaired pvc pipe/sprinkler valve, and replaced kitchen faucet.

All work was completed on time and within price estimates.

Few weeks later, started running the dishwasher and noticed water dripping underneath sink. To me, sometimes these things happen and it is a real test of quality service when a repairman/handyman comes back out to honor his warranty.

Called Chandler's and informed them of the problem. He came out later that day and fixed it. No hassle and no more leak. Great service.

From the first phone call with Ishmael all the way through the final handshake, it was a professional experience every step of the way.

It was a big (to me) project to get rid of my old, undersized water heater and upgrade to a new tankless model, but he handled the bid, parts, labor, installation, and cleanup with calmness and total control while answering all my questions and meeting my high standards for quality work.

Did I mention he got it done in one day? And his helper and drywall guys were just as good and professional? And the price was significantly less than a couple other bids? Plus he found the time to fix a leaky angle stop under my kitchen sink!

Call him if you want to go tankless - he knows his stuff, and you'll never run out of hot water! And now my family of 5 can now all shower without having to plan it out with breaks in between to refill the old tank.

I called Ishmael to fix my stuck garbage disposal. He was at my house within the hour, was polite and professional and within the hour had the problem fixed. There was a jammed piece of metal that didn't come out easy, so he had to uninstall the garbage disposal, and dislodge the metal. He did this quietly and efficiently and within the quoted rate which seemed fairly reasonable.

All in all, top notch service! I'll be happy to call Ishmael the next time I need a plumbing job done.

Had a problem in January with my 10 year old leaking reverse osmosis; Gogo Rooter came and couldn't figure out what the problem was and he still charged me. In February I called Chandler and Ishmael came out; tried to fix the problem but resolved that the GE osmosis I had purchased from Home Depot was leaking and needed to be replaced, he made a recommendation. In April 2014 I purchased a new reverse osmosis and called him to come replace it. He sent Bo who did a fine job of replacing the reverse osmosis. I feel Ishmael is honest and does his best with what he is confronted with. Bo's work was fine and he replaced the osmosis without a problem. I would bring them back for further plumbing jobs.

Chandler filled my call of help on a short notice. His communication was excellent and the tenant was very happy with the his repairs of interior doors and the inspection and repair of all interior plumbing. The bill was fair and i will use him again as soon as the need arises. When people are as handy as Chandler, you dont have to spend much time getting your jobs completed - give it to Chandler - then get out of the way and let him go to work. You wont be sorry.

We used Chandler's services to fix a leaky kitchen sink faucet, toilet flush, and a toilet facucet. 5 stars for being prompt on time and doing a great job. He sure was pretty fast, and we would definitely use his services if required in the future. He was kind enough to help remove a used bed that we wanted to dispose too. So, overall we are pretty happy.

Chandler did a whole bath room remodel which included ripping the old bathroom down & putting in a brand new one

Hi price was one of the lower ones but did an excellent job to satisfaction

He also commited to one of the lowest times & even beat that by a day

Overall I'm very satisfied & would reccomend him without reservation

Had a problem with my boiler at home, PG&E came out and said they had to replace it, cost $600.00. So I gave Chandler's a call and repair cost $95.00.

We had a door problem where it wouldn't close properly and we had to lift it up in order for it to shut tight. The lock also wasn't fully going all the way through. This problem bugged us for a while and I called up several handymen. Most of them were priced high or had to wait a week for the service, but Ishmael was able to come fix it on the same day. We also had another door that would just slide open even with the locks on. He fixed that one in a timely manner as well.

Overall he did the job extremely well and was reasonably priced. Definitely recommended, at least for door problems!

Sorry to rain on the happy parade - called this service based on yelp ratings - seems he wants to pick and choose his jobs - is not a true handyman, but prefers plumbing; but I wouldn't know; after the initial conversation, he didn't cal back - guess he didn't like the work he would have to do.

I had called three different handyman services previously. None of them showed up - no phone call, no explanation, nothing. So it was a breath of fresh air when I not only received a confirmation phone call but had him show up on time. I've already hired Ishmael twice for jobs on my home and would recommend him very highly. Very reasonable and the price he quotes is the price you'll pay - no hidden charges or extra fees.

Ishmael is awesome. The battery for 4 of the smoke alarms at home were low, so they were making an annoying BEEEP sound for the longest time. I finally decided that I couldn't live with the periodic beeps anymore, and searched for a handyman on Yelp, which was how I found Chandler's Handyman. Ishmael and his assistant arrived on time (even called before to confirm) and fixed the problem quickly. When the alarms started to beep again, he came back to fix them and didn't charge me. I'll definitely call him again if I need something fixed. Thanks yelp!

The responded to my quote online first, I contacted two other guys, one knew I was a senior citizen and scared me about the cost and not very professional. I like the price quoted by Chandler. I would have given them a higher rating but first they they were delayed about an hour and did not tell me until I called them, secondly the guys did not remove their shoes, I ask them but they said it was clean, we have white carpet. Another problem was I had to give the lead guy $20 to throw the old toilet and I had to throw the boxes and garbage. The price was good but I should have asked them about removing the old toilet and garbage, my fault for assuming. They gave a $ 30 discount so I was ok with this job . Oh, by the way I did not realise they don't cork anymore and the finish did not look good because they put the wax ring on top of they old one and had to press the toilet down but it still was was not flush. With use it will be ok and I did the corking.I would use them again but I will have to clarify things. Good thing, call the customer if you are late, we understand and is good for your business.

Service Performed on Sunday, Dec 19, 2010. Replace and install Garbage Disposal Unit. Ishmael Chandler arrived at the scheduled time, and was in and out in about 35 minutes. His skill in doing this kind of work was excellent. I had watched a Home Depot U-tube video on how to do it and Ishmael did it exactly like the video, except made it look easy. I cannot speak to his plubming or other electrical work he claims on his business card, but the Garbage Disposal installation service was good. Ben in San Jose

The pull out faucet in my kitchen started leaking yesterday. I called a few handyman services. Chandlers was the 1st one calling back. We agreed on a price and made an appointment for this morning. He showed up on time and did a quick check to see if the old facet can still be used with minor repair. It turned out we had to get it replaced with a new one. He drove to a hardware store and completed the job within 1.5 hours. Very good work for a reasonable price. I would definitely recommend him to my friends.

I found Chandler's Handyman Service through Yelp about a year ago and have used his service twice now. The first time I called him to fix a broken garbage disposal, and today he came over to fix a toilet that was leaking rust onto the bathroom floor. Both times he showed up within the time frame he said he was going to, and he completed both jobs quickly. Chandler is knowledgeable, respectful, and kind, and he was definitely honest with his pricing. In fact, when he initially looked at the toilet he quoted me around $100 for parts and labor. He had to run over to OSH to get the required parts and returned within twenty minutes or so. When he finished the job he actually said that it wasn't as much work as he thought it would be after all, and only charged me $75. Who can complain about that! I will continue to use Chandler for all of my plumbing and electrical needs in the future.

I finally decided to do something about my leaking garbage disposal. I called Chandler's because of the Yelp reviews and am glad to report that I concur with the high marks seen on this site. He was able to come on the same day (preventing me from changing my mind again and dragging out the inevitable), arrived on time and charged me the agreed upon price - which was much less than a plumber. He also talked me out of buying a more expensive disposal, further saving me money. I plan to use him for other projects in the future.

I found Chandler's Handyman Service here on yelp and I found that they did an excellent job of remodeling a bathroom in my house, which needed serious work. They pulled out just about everything that was in there, repaired the water damage to the wood supports underneath the floor, and installed a new floor, shower, sink, toilet, light fixture and fan. They did a very thorough job and did it right, unlike the previous time the bathroom had been remodeled years before, which had eventually caused things to fall apart they way they did. But Ishmael and his guys did great work to fix everything and it looks fantastic now. The only negative was that there was some confusion about one day when they said they would come but didn't, but that was a Sunday around the holidays and frankly I didn't mind having a day off from the construction. Otherwise, they were very conscientious about their work and the cleanliness around the house, and they were even careful to make sure that my cat didn't get out of the house or into the construction area. Their price was very reasonable for the extensive amount of work they did, and they completed the job in about a week or so, which I was satisfied with. I have and will recommend them to anyone else in the area, who needs similar work done.
