I contacted BAY ELECTRIC in SF several weeks ago to fix/repair the long fluorescent light tube & fixture in the garage.
Keven, the owner, responded, explained the problem and replaced/fixed it and cleaned up the area under the fixture where he was working.
He also replaced a light switch in the kitchen.
Years ago I had an electrical box with a timer installed in the garage to power a small deck.
I needed to have someone re-route the power off of the timer and direct it to the existing gray electrical power box on the deck.
Two days ago I called Kevin at BAY ELECTRIC in SF to do the job. He was unable to come out but offered to send Yoni who also works at Bay Electric. Yoni arrived promptly when he said he would. I showed him what needed to be done.
I offered him the ladder in the garage. When he was finished he returned the ladder to its proper place and made sure the area under he was working was clean.
Yoni also checked the gray electrical box on the deck to make sure everything was working correctly.
I am extremely pleased with both Kevin and Yoni and their work ethics. They are prompt, polite, professional and friendly to talk with.
It's the little things in life that mean so much to me. I am confident now that Kevin & Yoni from BAY ELECTRIC in SF are at the other end of my phone call if/when I have any and all electrical issues in the future.

Highly recommend Bay Electric to you all. Kevin help my husband installed a Tesla wall connector yesterday (Fri 04/07/23). He is very professional, responsive and fast service. He offer a reasonable price too.
Wow! is not enough to say how ETHICAL Kevin the electrician is. I mistakenly left a portable heater on then used a blow dryer at the same time...you guessed it....tripped the circuit breaker. Power out instantly. I then tried to reset the breaker but it didn't work. I called Kevin because of the great reviews on here. Told him the problem. He then asked me to text him a picture of the circuit breaker panel. After looking at the picture, he told me exactly what to do over the phone. Then Voila! Power came back on. He told me he is not someone that will come out for a job knowing it's something the homeowner can do safely. He refused to take my money when I offered to pay him something because he spent his valuable time on the phone with me. Kevin saved me a few hundred dollars, and most importantly, he has gained a new grateful loyal customer.

Last night, Bay Electric saved me $150 plus the cost of ordering a pizza. I was about to cook dinner, and when I went to turn on the oven, I realized there was no power. I went and checked the fuse box and found everything looked normal. I flipped some switches and went back to the oven, and still nothing. It was only one side of the kitchen, weirdly. So I called Bay Electric, talked to someone amazing whose name I didn't catch, and then at his request, texted a photo of my fuse box. He called me back and told me that I just needed to find some switch test and reset on the correct outlet and that would probably take care of it. He stayed on the phone as I tried every one in the kitchen and... ta da! Magic - it worked. I cooked my dinner (Arizmendi dough homemade pizza) and agreed to write a yelp review because that's what I call good service!

Kevin is as described in these reviews. He was responsive, asked all the right questions, and I got a reasonable honest quote. He showed up on time, and finished the EV charging outlet and even installed a hook so that I can put the charger on so that it is not on the floor. All these details are important and appreciated. He's a super honest person and even added a cover for one of my outlet that was exposed. My job was pretty simple but he is very knowledgeable as we we discussed the electrical connections in my garage and what could have been better. We quickly needed a new outlet installed in the garage of our 1940's house to power the internet service being installed in a few days. Bay Electric and Kevin were able to provide an estimate based on video and photos, and were able to fit this job between others so it could be completed within our limited timeframe.
We have a lot more electrical work that needs to be done on the house, and because of the great service with this garage outlet we'll definitely be using Bay Electric.
Kevin is super responsive, knowledgeable, showed up on time and did excellent work. He installed a Tesla charger -- answered questions about our electric panel and the installation was impeccable. Highly recommend.
We suddenly lost power yesterday morning and scrambled to find an emergency electrician. Bay came and performed a thoughtful assessment and very fast and reasonable repair. The electrician who came was on his day off and was more than happy to assist. The service was fast, the diagnosis was correct and most importantly the price was fair - even in an emergency. I should point out that before Bay came, we had another electrician come who tried to tell us we needed to replace our whole panel for $6000. I am SOOOOOO glad I called Bay Electric regarding an inspection of my condo building's electrical system that our new insurance company was requiring. Kevin was traveling, but still got back to me ASAP -- he was super responsive, easy to deal with, and a straight shooter. Another electrician had said it would cost at least $1500 to do the electrical inspection and report. But Kevin did it in an hour and charged me his very fair and reasonable hourly rate. If I ever have electrical issues/needs again, I'll definitely be using Kevin again.

I retained Bay Electric to do some basic electrical work that I wanted done right. Kevin did a great job and I highly recommend him. I'll hire Kevin for any electrical work we need in the future.
I came home from work one day to find part of my house without power. After resetting the circuit breaker didn't work, I knew I needed an electrician. But it was already 5:30 pm. Where was I going to find help at this hour? Luckily, Bay Electric answered the phone. The gentleman on the phone walked me through troubleshooting the breakers via FaceTime and text message. He suggested the problem was with PG&E, and we made a service appointment for the next day. The next morning, I called PG&E and when their tech came out, they confirmed it was on their side and he was able to fix it for us. I wound up canceling the original appointment with Bay Electric. So even though I never paid them a cent, Bay Electric still came through when I was in a tight spot. For that excellent service they earned five stars, and will be my first call next time I have an electrical problem.
Kevin to the rescue! I had to install a new outlet immediately prior to installation of a phone entry system for our new security gate and Bay Electric accomplished the job the day after I called in! Recently purchased a Tesla (!) and needed a 14-50 Nema outlet installed in the garage. I got another quote from another electrician who told me he needed to also upgrade the panel since it was outdated and dangerous to work on. Kevin came in and confirmed it was outdated, but actually not that dangerous. I felt like he was much more honest and came in ~25% less than the other electrician. I really appreciated his candid and friendly personality. They did awesome work and arrived when they said they would (8am - one minute early!). While upgrading my panel, they were able to provide me with temporary power so I could work/have WiFi.
Bottom line: Recommend Kevin & Bay Electric Crew.

Kevin and his team are great. They installed a Tesla wall charger for me in my garage. They were on time and answered any questions I had with confidence. Needed an outlet swapped out for our new washer. Kevin was there the same day and did great work. Very responsive and nice to work with.
Well I don't know what the other reviews are about in terms of quick response time after contacting them. I left a message on 1/22/20. It is now 1/27/20 and I have yet to hear back from them. Maybe my job was not worthy of them I do not know.
I can't comment on the service they provide since I didn't have the opportunity to use them.
I did find a wonderful electrician to take care of my issues and I am very happy with him.

This was for Kevin and Johnny's work performed in June 2020. Kevin was very responsive and personable and answered questions that I had. They arrived on time, and finished when they said they would. They came up with creative and practical solutions for my electrical needs. They also priced reasonably and competitively. I would definitely use their services again and recommend.
Bay Electric is the best! They just rewired a couple of bedrooms in my old house that had knob and tube and they did a fantastic job. Kevin responded quickly when I called. He gave me a reasonable estimate after looking carefully at the rooms and old wiring. He's very professional and a really nice guy to boot. His crew was extremely good, especially Jaime. While it looked like there would have to be additional openings created in the bathroom to run the conduit, Jaime figured out a way to go through the attic instead with far fewer openings as a result. The Bay Electric crew was very punctual, very orderly about covering up furniture and even the window curtains, worked quickly and efficiently, and then cleaned up thoroughly. I now have many more new outlets, new fixtures and far safer wiring!
And I have to note how Kevin went out of his way to install and test two high end fire/co alarms upstairs and downstairs (at no charge) because he felt the ones I had were not in the optimal locations to provide adequate warning; I didn't ask about or even mention anything about fire alarms. It was just something he noticed and felt strongly about. Now, that's really going the extra mile.
So, if you need quality electrical work done, you can't do better than Bay Electric.
Kevin and Jaime did an outstanding job with my Tesla Wall connector. I live in a condo community and it's not necessarily the most straight forward job as far as wiring things from the main panel to the garage, but they did an excellent job with the planning, design, and install. They did THREE of my other neighbors' charging plug installations - so I knew this job was pretty much routine for them at this point. If you notice all their 5 star ratings - that's not a coincidence. They are also listed as a recommended licensed installer on Tesla's website. If you live in SF or in the nearby neighborhoods, I would definitely recommend and always call Kevin and Bay Electric for any other electrical needs.
Kevin was extremely reliable, professional and prompt. I had an electrical issue immediately before leaving town and was very nervous about it. He fixed it extremely quickly and professionally. Would highly recommend him to take care of any electrical job. Thank you, Kevin!

They are very busy these days so just be patient and they will try to get back to you so otherwise my experience with Kevin and Jonny was great they were nice to talk to and was able to complete my exterior garage light install I had an issue with putting the light in the center of the above garage door due to vinyl siding and I had a wood frame on back of the wall they was able to figure a solution and made it work.Will call again for my next electrical project!

Had Bay Electric come by to install a new chandelier, pendant lights, and a Nest Hello doorbell. Kevin was very quick to respond via Yelp, and quick to have one of his team members come over only a few days later. Yoni was great - very kind, worked efficiently, and did a great job. In December of 2019, I realized the building I had just bought needed some electrical upgrades (old knob and tube, not enough circuits, etc.). I had four electricians come out and give me quotes. Kevin, the owner of Bay Electric was the most responsive, punctual, and was reasonably priced coming in about 50% less than the other quotes I received.
The work itself included upgrading knob and tube wiring, adding some outlets, adding recessed lighting throughout, and adding a circuit board in my unit. Everything looks and works fantastic. Kevin's crew is great and if I had any question or concerns Kevin was always a call or text message away. We passed our inspection with no issue.
I plan to use Bay Electric for all of my electrical needs.

I searched for a company to do a difficult job. I had one company lined up and they kept putting me off and kept putting me off. Nightmare when you have a time line for a job. Hired them to upgrade and ground 6 outlets in 3 rooms, plus add a new outlet to each room. Our condo building is vintage so lots of old wires & pipes going every which way, but the crew from Bay Electric figured everything out, or a solution for issues that a vintage building presents and did a great job. Definitely recommend Bay Electric!
My Home was built in 1948, back then grounded wiring did not exist. I had Bay ElectricSF rewire and upgrade my entire home. I had a few estimates, His wasn't the cheapest or most expensive. Kevin was really responsive and his team Jaime and Robby, both of whom seem really experienced and were careful, neat and effective. Job included some basic stuff (light dimmers and installing motion detector light), but also some stuff that involved navigating some tricky wiring obstacles in our 80+ year-old house in order to ground existing outlets and add a new one to our living room, and run new conduit through entire house to get to backyard where they've added J-boxes and switching. Kevin and his team are absolute professionals. I actually ENJOYED the process. They worked with me and communicated very very well. The project was unexpected to begin with. They explained everything and understood my perspective really well. Everything they did was TOP notch. His team was clean, professional, courteous, and on time! Kevin was HONEST and worked to really deliver the promised results. When we encountered surprises in the construction (old 1923 house) he was honest and we still got things done reasonably on time. I got several quotes. He was not the cheapest, but not nearly the most expensive. I feel like I got a reasonable value and they were super professional. I highly recommend Kevin and his team. I did a kitchen remodel and hired Bay Electric and Kevin to do the electrical work. It included a complete rewiring of all the kitchen circuits, a new sub panel, recessed lights, dimmers etc. This was the result:
1) Easy quote that was very competitive
2) The crew would arrive on time, each day -- without exception.
3) The work was performed fast, and it was of great quality. No shortcuts.
4) Kevin did not nickel and dime me for every little addition. If I needed something extra and it did not take considerable time, he just asked his crew to do the work.
5) Kevin did cared about the rest of the work too and often had great advice and suggestions for me.
I would definitely hire this company back.
They came out quickly and got the job done., No complaints-one star off because they fixed a toggle light switch-and the one that they replaced now works, which is great, but it now toggles in the opposite direction from the others- so if 3 on that switch plate are toggled right, the one repaired has to be toggled left to be turned on. Not a big deal to us, but, a little wrong, thus minus one star.
Kevin and his crew are the best around! I got many different estimates on the job. After meeting him and getting the bid from him I was shocked about how much he cared about his customers. There are not many places that come out on the weekend to check on a concern.
After he gets done with a big job they make sure that everything is cleaned up and tidy. That in itself really surprised me. He takes a lot of pride in his work and that same kind of pride is instilled into his crew. Thanks guys !

Called first thing in the morning, but they were booked and couldn't come out. Still, they had me send them a picture of the issue. They diagnosed it, called me back in 10 minutes, and the problem was solved. Definitely a great experience and outcome.

I'm writing this review on behalf of my mother as we are extremely pleased with the service provided by Bay Electric. Kevin and crew was very professional, diligent and courteous to our immediate needs.
So apparently PGE had to shut down our electricity and we needed the entire electrical system replaced. Big job! Thus we made a few phone calls and came across Bay Electric. Not only have they been around for many many years, they also had great reviews.
After speaking with Kevin over the phone, his courteousness, politeness and his patience won us over. The quote was also very reasonable which was another plus. But the key was that kevin took his time in explaining in detail as to what the steps were and the time it was going to take. He handled everything from A-Z which was great because we were clueless.
After all said and done, Kevin and crew had really outdone themselves. Everything looked fabulous and they were able to complete this huge massive project early!

Kevin is great! He installed two smoke detectors, replaced a switch and installed an outdoor motion sensor light all within an hours time. He is also great with dogs!
My regular sparky couldn't be bothered for a small job, so I checked out Yelp. Others weren't available for five days. Kevin answered right away, told me how and where to get a fixture to save $175, came out within 15 minutes, and wrapped up a light and switch replacement within the hour. Boom. Done.

Kevin is great! We had electrical issue pretty late at night and he tried to help troubleshoot over the phone, unfortunately we weren't able to solve the problem but the next day we called him up and he made time in his day to come out and solve our problem. I sent several quote requests out and made multiple calls to a Electricians recommended by Yelp across San Francisco via voicemail, email and Yelp quotes. Kevin of Bay Electric replied quickly to my Yelp quote and solved an outage the same day. Turned out my breaker was off when I thought it was on. Doh! He did not charge me because it took all of 5 seconds to resolve. Based on his quick responses, communication and service I will be using Bay Electric in the near future.
Kevin and team were great to work with -- and communicate with. I ended up with an unexpectedly complex lighting problem in our dining room. They stayed late on a Friday night, working through numerous adjustments to fix it. And they did the little things well, like cleaning up afterwards. Totally recommend!
I have a multi-unit Bldg which experienced an electrical issue with several units and flickering lights. It was an emergency weekend situation and called several Electrical Companies and the one that was available came out and fixed the problem as they stated temporarily fixed' and that I would need about $16K in upgrade work in order for this not to happen again. it was an urgent situation. I was nervous but decided to get another estimate and called Kevin at Bay Electric. He explained the electrical situation I had experienced completely, why it probably would not happen again ( no further issues week 3 ) and that in his opinion, there was no need to do any further upgrade work unless I experienced the same issue over again, virtually saving me the $16K in expense and relieving my fears and worry.
An electrician like Kevin who owns Bay Electric and builds his business on integrity and honesty with clients is a rock star in my book and will be my go-to electrician from this point on. HE SAVED ME THOUSANDS !!

I had a few bad outlets and dimmer switches I needed replaced in my home. Kevin was fantastic! He had me text pictures of what I needed replaced so he could try to match the colors. He arrived on the early side of the reservation window which is always a plus. He was very thorough and FAST. He explained what he was doing and why every step of the way. Very friendly even with our screaming toddler in the background and grumpy dog. I will definitely use Bay Electric in the future, honest great company.
After 4 houses in three states, we have dealt with a lot of contractors--Bay Electric is one of the best that we have ever worked with. We hired them to install recessed lighting, and outlets outside the house. Kevin showed up early, with three other people, 3 equipment vans, and they went right to work. They kept the space incredibly clean--they took off their shoes when they entered the house and put up plastic sheeting around the entire room to protect dust from getting on the future and wall hangings. After we previously told him we wanted warmer LED lights, he found the warmest lights for installation, and they are perfect. We will be hiring Bay Electric for all electrical needs in the future.
I love Kevin! I own a spa called In-Symmetry Wellness Spa and completely takes care of all of our electrical needs. He always answers the phone and he explains everything really well. He is also a great price. Basically I don't use anyone else. Call them because you will not be sorry!

I just wanted to pass on my happiness with the work done by Hank and his crew last week. They did a very nice job, were extremely courteous, and cleaned up nicely at the end of the day.
It's been a pleasure doing business with Bay Electric. Kevin, the estimator, was very helpful and responsive. The office staff was very professional, providing email contact and was very quick to make a billing adjustment with no unecessary haggling. I would use this company again for my electrical needs.
Had a last minute rush job and Kevin and his team came to the rescue. They are professional, prompt and efficient. If you need something done fast AND right the first time, give them a call.

I had a break in by electric line to the basement lights. Kevin came over to my house on short notice and quickly repair the problem. He was very professional and pleasant. I highly recommend Kevin to my friends.

I accidentally cut the electric cord while trimming a hedge which caused electrical outlet to shut down. Called Bay Electric and someone answered the phone (a plus), and I explained the problem and was told electrician would be out in about an hour and half. Kevin arrived sooner than that and he was professional, knowledgeable and friendly and very pleasant. He took care of the problem within minutes and explained every step to me. There was something else that I thought of and asked Kevin if he could check something else out for me, not related to the problem for which he came to fix. I showed him another situation that needed to be remedied and in minutes he took care of that. He was wonderful! Nothing was too much and I was so glad that I called this company out of the blue. The price he quoted was fine with me and I am so happy that I will not hesitate to recommend Bay Electric to my friends and family members.
