AMI Handyman Services

I was in need of having my shower doors rehung with new rollers and a new glider.  Both doors had fallen off into the tub.  I called AMI and Johnny responded right away.  He was working on another job and kept in communications with me to update his time of arrival.  Very polite, professional and explained what he was doing and what I need to do in the future.  It was a pleasure having Johnny and Marie working for me. I don't hesitate referring them to family and friends. They get the job done and doesn't take a long time. Thanks J & M for being there for me when I needed you!!!

I sent an email out to about 9 handyman services on Friday afternoon on replacing a hot water heater door.   I had a few email replys including AMI.  Johnny was very detailed in his questions regarding the project. After determining he had a great quote, I asked if he could work on a Saturday.  He replied with in seconds that he could. I wasn't planning on getting the material to be ready the next day as I needed to arrange pick up of the material and was planning to schedule something out for the following Saturday, Johnny quickly responded that he could pick up the material as well. He was the the only HM service who offered to help me pick up the material made the decision that much easier.

Side note:  I had previous quote from another handyman/GC service names Leoline and this company wanted to charge me up to a 50% markup to pick up the door, hence I kept looking and found AMI.

Over all, Johnny was very detailed and conscience of his surroundings. He was very sharp and had good suggestions on how to proceed that I had not thought of.

He picked up the material, completed the work and did a lil patch work of the jam at no additional charge. I would recommend Johnny to anyone who wants to have good workmanship, problem solving and quick response and service. I will definitely be using AMI again in the future.  Thanks again!

We needed to install a portable air conditioner in our garage. While the normal installation is through a window our garage does not have any windows so it had to be vented through the wall. Using yelp to contact the AMI Handyman was super easy. He was responsive and timely in all of our communications. We established an appointment time and he was here on time and ready to go. We are super impressed with the quality of work, level of communication and his honest approach to our needs. We highly recommend Johnny Garcia, he in now our go to handyman. Really a super professional.

I needed a handyman to install new doorknobs and deadbolts. AMI did a terrific job and had excellent customer service. Also, they were very quick on the message response time with a reasonable price quote.

Johnny & crew at AMI did a great job painting our garage.  It's an old wood structure that had peeling paint and age-related damage.  It's obvious from the quality of the paint job that a lot of attention was given to the prep work (filling cracks, sanding, etc.).  Johnny & his crew left the worksite immaculate, and even took extra steps to protect a neighbor's car from any over spray.  Plus, communication about all aspects of the project was excellent.  Thanks, AMI!

Fast and prompt service. I contacted Johnny after I was fed up with seeing these unused mirrors in my garage. I contacted him same day to get a quote to install the mirrors on the wall. He gave me a decent price and was able to get the mirrors up in no time. I mean this all happened within 3 hours. From the initial call, to the arrival and installation. He left the area just the way he found it. Fast, prompt, reliable, and clean service!! Before he left I had him look at future work I'd plan on doing. I'll definitely be calling him again.

Was in the middle of a conversation and being very polite to the gentleman, and then he hung up on me. He basically said he was full for the next two weeks, and then I was in the middle of asking him a question when he hung up on me. To give him the benefit of the doubt I called him back but he did not pick up so clearly he terminated the call. That is not the way to treat people.

Johnny responded to my request from yesterday today and did a fast and efficient job with work in my bathroom. He was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. He also helped me with evaluating other potential jobs in my house. The estimates he gave me were extremely reasonable. I highly recommend this company

Be forewarned. This guy doesn't know what he's doing. He works with his wife. They will give you a good price, but they will do a poor job. They are basically only good for something you can do yourself but if it's any more than that expect a total micky mouse job. They can't even install a sink right. Their work ended up causing a leak that caused thousands of damage to my home. If that's what you want, go for it. Is it worth saving some money to pay thousands later?? You've been warned.

Johnny is a first class professional. From the moment we connected he asked a lot of questions and requested photos etc to familiarize himself with the job at hand. Johnny then came over to assess the project and provided a very reasonable quote and insurance details, so we had no hesitation in moving forward.

Johnny arrived on time and prepped the area with dust sheets etc. You can tell instantly that this guy cares about his work and his customers. He's a  true craftsman. His work is precise, neat and thorough. Johnny installed our range hood and went through multiple checks and tweaks to ensure it worked the way it should and looked its best. Johnny provided all materials as part of his quote and delivered above and beyond our expectations. We couldn't be happier.

I hired Johnny for two separate jobs and would highly recommend him. The one job was to change out shower doors and install a decorative backsplash above the existing shower enclosure. Johnny let me know that only one wall had a stud and that if we installed the doors as is, the wall itself would never hold the doors. To open the wall and add a support beam, the bid increased a very fair amount. I really appreciated him being honest with me though, because I can imagine others would have just done the job, as is, and I would have had a huge issue down the road. I felt really lucky to have hired Johnny. The shower looks great now! Would definitely recommend and I will be contacting him for projects in the future. Thanks again Johnny.

After calling around and being turned down for my small job, I called AMI.
Johnny was more than happy to handle my door repair. He arrived the next day to make the repair on my rental unit. While there the tenant asked for an additional repair to which he completed with my approval. Johnny completed the repairs quickly, professionally and at a very reasonable price.  I will be calling Johnny for all future repairs on my rental units.  The work Johnny did was awesome.  I even referred my sister to him for some electrical work.

We needed our kitchen faucet replaced in a hurry and I found AMI on Yelp. He was extremely responsive, let us know exactly what his ETA was, and did a great job. The job ended up being more involved that we originally anticipated, so the price went up but he let us know and made sure we were agreeable before proceeding, no unpleasant surprises. We would def call AMI again if we need something done around the house.

Johnny and Marie did a partial renovation on our recently purchased 101 year old home. It was in BAD shape. The walls were beyond gross; they had several different textures, holes, and many years worth of filth. We did not want to do new walls throughout so Johnny repaired the existing walls, sanded and retextured and painted throughout the house. He restored all the doors, rebuilt the built in shelving, installed a hood vent that never existed so he had to cut the roof to install it, removed the bars from all the windows and repaired the window casings, paint throughout the house, hung bistro lights in the backyard, built and installed rodent covers on the exterior, installed Nest security system, hung window roller shades, and on and on and on!!!

If I could give 10 stars I would! This is our handyman/renovation team for life! Honest, hard working, does the job right, communicative, and a fair price! We truly could not be happier with the 6 week partial renovation Johnny & Marie did for us! Make sure to zoom in on the before pics of the walls to see the MANY imperfections and gross'ness (the photos don't do justice to how bad they were, but it will make you appreciate the after photos even more). We trusted this husband wife team to create our vision and they BEYOND blew our minds! The home is so beautiful, warm and inviting now.

We will have AMI back to build us a new fence, to do the interior work of our addition, to paint the exterior, and to keep this 101 year old bungalow looking beautiful!

I am very happy with the great work and service we received from Johnny G. and Mariee. Our entry door had some very bad sap leakage and it needed to be refinished and restrained.  The whole process was very efficient and professional.  Upon my initial inquiry, Mariee was very polite and asked for detailed information on the door including a few photos.  This was needed in order to assess the job and provide a good estimate.  The turnaround time for the estimate was received on the same day which was great.  We made the appointment for work and Johnny and Marie arrived as scheduled.  Johnny was great on communicating each step of the process once on the job.  Everything was explained in great detail including why a small increase on the original estimate was needed which made perfect sense.  In summary, our door looks great and we are so happy we used Johnny and Mariee (AMI Handy Man Services). They are honest, professional, and extremely respectful. Before they left, we asked for an estimate on another project. I would definitely recommend AMI. You won't go wrong.
