We had a breaker that tripped repeatedly even after my husband changed it out twice.  Any further troubleshooting was beyond our ability so we employed Yelp to assist with finding an electrician.  We were contacted by several electricians on the platform but felt that Ace (Victor) was the only one who showed that they had read our issue prior to responding.  We spent the time to detail the issue and include pictures in our request for a bid, so we expected a thoughtful response in return -- which is where Ace stood out.

We discussed scheduling an appointment for the following week as our issue was not an emergency.  I was delayed in confirming the appointment.  By the time I got back to Victor, the appointment was no longer available which is understandable.  Instead, we scheduled it for the day following.

Alfonso came out to look at the problem.  I explained what we had already tried to do without success so that he didn't waste time duplicating the same efforts.  Within 10 minutes, we identified the issue with a particular switch that controlled the exterior lights.  Alfonso further investigated as the wiring at the switch looked fine as did the overhead light in the front exterior entry.  He noticed that we had another exterior lamp on the side of our house that was controlled by the same switch.  It was there that he saw the issue with two of the wires touching in a fused manner.  He separated the wires and taped over the slit exposing one of the wires.  Then he put everything back in its place and was done within 1.5 hours.  He also offered to sweep up the dust created when the switch plate was removed but I let him know that I would vacuum it with my dustbuster.  

I appreciated Alfonso's call ahead of his arrival to let me know he was on his way, his swift approach to identifying and fixing the issue, and his professionalism throughout.  Additionally, their time estimate was realistic and their price was reasonable.  I'm happy to recommend Ace as an electrical service provider and will most certainly call on them the next time I need an electrician.

Victor is so professional. I requested a quote to install a NIMO plug for our new Tesla. He called me back right away and asked me to send him pictures of our breaker panel which I did. He called me right back and gave me the quote. We scheduled an appointment and he called to confirm before his employee came out. His employee was on time and worked efficiently, got the job done and presented me with the invoice. Professional from start to finish and great work.
Will definitely be calling them for future electrical needs.

Needed a Tesla wall connector (charger) added to my garage as well as an additional outlet and Victor and Alfonso were both a pleasure to deal with.  Victor was attentive, answered my RFQ quickly and answered all my questions and concerns perfectly. On install, if there were variables like different tube routes or materials or positioning for the charger, Alfonso always checked with me for my approval and final sign off. Overall the job was excellently done and both team members I dealt with were nice and pricing was very competitive. Highly recommend and will be using them again.

I needed a breaker moved from my main panel to my subpanel.  Ace was very prompt in responding to my request for a quote and setting up my appointment.  Alfonso, the technician, actually arrived earlier than scheduled and was very friendly and professional.  Alfonso moved my breaker and it was all said and done very quickly

Needed an electrical outlet created in the top right of our refrigerator enclosure as we were installing a subzero fridge that needed the outlet located there.  Victor came by as scheduled and in a timely fashion, and finished the job very cleanly at a very reasonable cost.  In fact I asked to have the outlet moved and he told me it'd cost less if I just wanted a new outlet which in fact we like better so thanks for being proactive and laying out options for what essentially accomplished the same result.

He also provided reasonable quotes to install a floodlight with a conduit as well as a plug in Ev station.  I'm definitely recommending Victor/Ace Electric to friends/family and neighbors who need a handy electrician at a competitive cost.

I think the only caveat to note is that Victor does not do any patch/drywall work so make sure you have a handy person for that if any walls need to be opened up for wiring. Thankfully he didn't need to punch open any holes in our wall for the work we needed done.

We had a few outlets go out and needed an electrician as it was affecting my home office work. Spoke with Victor the day before and he was helpful in explaining the costs and determining if I could fix it on my own. Major kudos for Victor, as he wanted to see if I could avoid a service trip. When I mentioned this was a chronic occurrence, he scheduled a tech to arrive the next day. Omar did an exceptional job, was very friendly and explained the work he was doing. It turned out some loose connections were the culprit for several outlets in 2 rooms going out. He replaced those and was done in under an hour. Thank you Omar!!! I'd definitely recommend to other Irvine-ites who need electrical work done at reasonable rates.

Great communication and very patient with trying to understand my needs.   Victor was very responsive to my messages and asked detailed questions so he can provide me an accurate quote... this was all at 9pm on a Sunday night.   Unfortunately our schedules did not coordinate so I did not hire his company for the job, but he is very much on my radar the next time I have an electrical need.   Thank you Victor for you time and patience!

Wow!! These guys are amazing!

This past year I've dealt with multiple contractors, and I was very impressed with mike's work ethic. This company is reasonably priced, knowledgeable, and work effieciently. I asked them to accommodate my schedule and they were able to do so.

Got my Tesla charger within the hour!

They persisted on a difficult installation, commercial-grade outdoor overhead heaters. It was a replacement for an early model, and required a new electrical outlet - on a 9-ft ceiling. But they did it.

We're really happy we found Ace. So many of the electrical companies on Yelp - ones with tons of 5 star reviews - are really just installing canned LED lighting, sound systems and similar light weight stuff. Finding the right company for our needs was harder than I expected.

We needed someone who was interested in doing heads down troubleshooting and repair on the house we recently bought and who could give us quality options. After a lot of looking, we chose Ace.  

They did excellent work for us at a fair price. Mike, the electrician who did our work, has great troubleshooting skills and a great attitude. He was friendly and professional throughout and answered the many many questions my daughter and I asked. He gave us clear options and listened to our needs. He has the kind of attitude and aptitude consumers want in an electrician.

We had a great experience with Michael and with Ace.

Technically, I've never met Victor.  But I feel compelled to write a review because out of 10 electricians I called about a breaker issue, he was one of two that tried to help me by phone - and it worked!  He's clearly knowledgeable, responsive, and a solid guy for helping me (with an embarrassing user error) over the phone instead of scheduling and charging for an in-person diagnosis.  10/10 would use his services.

Mike did both our quote and our service.  Start to finish everything was easy.  We had him bring our garage electrical up to code, add a motion sensor, add an outlet for a beverage center in the kitchen and add a ceiling fan outlet and switch in the primary bedroom.

Mike understood exactly what we wanted.  He was prompt and professional and had everything he needed to complete the job.   If you need conduit installed with bent pipes... ask for Mike.

We will be using Ace again.

Victor was quick to respond to my voicemail and scheduled an electrician to come out the following day to troubleshoot an on-going GFCI issue we were having. The gentleman that came was early which was nice, most service based companies give a window and are notoriously late. He was able to fix the issue in under an hour which was also a huge relief and in return the invoice was extremely fair. I would not hesitate to use ACE again and highly recommend them for your electrical needs!

The lights went back to flickering randomly after Mike's first visit. Called Victor the next day to report the situation. Before my next scheduled appointment, he suggested opening a case with Edison to make sure the lines from outside of the house to the main panel is not causing the problem. Edison's tech came out and determined everything from the street to the sub-panel seemed to be normal.

So Mike came back to replace the breaker switch to a brand new one, said not to worry, it was under their warranty. I was only charged for his work to adding the GFCI in my bathroom.

After testing the lights for two nights, everything seems to be working perfectly! I am blown away by their team's work ethics. I would recommend their services to anyone who is reading this in the community!

The only downside is that they are so short-handed and super busy all the time, it would be hard for them to get to you right away if you're having an emergency but if you can afford to wait, they are honest people and stick by their work. It's worth the wait.

Mike was a great electrician to work with in getting us get some outlets and Ethernet installed. Not only was he very precise, he also was respectful and clean. We did not even notice there was any work done because it came out looking exactly like any other outlet.

We will 100% use Ace again in the future for any other electrical work that we may have.

Sent a bid out to multiple electricians on yelp and not only were these guys super polite and professional, the prices were competitive and fair. I was very happy with the detailed response on yelp from Victor, conversation on phone, and in person service with Mike who answered all my questions. He was able to quickly diagnose my garage doors to a faulty breaker fuse and get it running again. Very satisfied with the service. 5 Stars!

Fantastic experience with Ace Electrical Services. Mike arrived to help diagnose and correct a couple of electrical issues I was experiencing regarding a pendant lamp and some GFCI outlets. He quickly determined the issues and corrected them in relatively little time.  Not only did Mike do great work, is very professional, arrived on time, was very courteous about wearing protective slips over his shoes and he is also very friendly and personable.  Their services are offered at a very fair and reasonable price. Ace electrical was great overall. They were extremely prompt and professional. Mike did a great job and worked quickly. He helped install a Nema 14-50 for my Tesla, whole job took just over an hour and hew as great to chat with and conversate while he worked.

I would highly recommend them and will use them for my future electrical needs.

We are extremely pleased with their service.

It was the third electricians to give us a quote, and the Only one who went up to our attic and checked wirings and switch location above ceiling to give us accurate estimate. It make sense since we are installing ceiling light where there was no power...

Mike also explained throughly what would involve regarding cutting dry walls or other options.  
When Mike left, we were convinced that we wanted to go with Ace.
And immediately called Victor to set up an appointment, witch was really easy.

Mike came back and he worked super efficiently, clean and went above and beyond.  We had whole house done... kitchen, dining, living, bedrooms, bathroom exhaust, hallway and closet...

We highly recommend them.

We recently had them do a number of different things, including moving a bunch of outlets, adding a few more, and installing a new outdoor light. Very clean work. And completed in a timely manner. Ace electrical installed a NEMA 14-50 outlet for our electric vehicle in our garage. They were prompt, quick, and very professional. Reasonable price.

Recommend reaching out as soon as possible to schedule. They were booked out about a week and half for us.

Mike from Ace changed all of my light switches and was great. He convinced me to keep my outlet-controlling-switches and to simply keep them 'on' (instead of removing the switches entirely). I appreciated his professional opinion--great experience overall.

Worked with them to get an EVSE hooked up, and an outlet installed for a bidet.

Michael was excellent, explained everything, and did a really exceptional job. Prices are reasonable.

The EVSE looks great in the garage and the bathroom outlet was installed well.

Only downside is they can take book pretty far out. Good sign overall though, they are obviously busy.

Had a very good experience with Ace Electric.
Sent them a message on Yelp for a quote. Got almost an instant response from Victor. He asked for more information and quickly provided a very reasonable quote and answered my questions. I know nothing about electrical things so he eased my worries.
Mike showed up the following day (they were kind enough to squeeze me into their busy schedule) and was super nice. He was very professional, friendly and best of all.. he cleaned everything up afterwards! He also explained everything to me. My light pendant was installed exactly the way I wanted. I will definitely use Ace Electric again in the future. I no longer have to sweat over finding a reliable electrician!

I had Ace Electric out a this week to replace a switch box and install a chandelier in my stairwell. Mike was the electrician that came out and was right on time and a very njce young man. Cleaned up after job was done and a very fair price. Would definitely use them again.

Called Ace after dealing with an electrician that tried to upsell and overcharge me. Mike was prompt, friendly and dove right in to find the problem. After an hour he informed that we were going to another hour and I was OK with that. He methodically checked all the circuits, outlets and switches before finding the issue - a bad connection made by a previous contractor a few months back. The result? Fixed the issue, told me what to buy (new wall remote for the ceiling fan) and put everything back to its normal state. Charged $165 (tuesday) for what the other electrician wanted to charge me $800 (on a saturday night). Great experience and happy with the results!

I contacted Ace Electric to schedule an appointment to install five new standard electrical outlets, and five new Snap Power guidance light plates in my home.  I was quoted a flat fee of $95.00 per hour.

On the day of the appointment, the electrician Mike telephoned me, and told me he was on his way.  Mike was running early - so I really appreciated his advance telephone call because it's nice to know *when* a technician is going to arrive at my home, without making me wait all day for his arrival.  Thank you, Mike!  

When Mike arrived, he promptly went to work, and completed all of the electrical work in a professional (and efficient) manner.  Mike was communicative, professional, efficient and courteous.  Everything went well and I am a very satisfied customer.  If I need electrical work in the future, I will definitely contact Ace Electric.

Great Service! I reached out to Victor via Yelp and he responded very promptly. We scheduled an appointment for the following week and, as promised, he called me the day his electrician, Richard, would be out. Richard arrived when he said he would and immediately set about removing our old ceiling fan and installing the new one. I was stunned when he completed the task in 30 minutes! It would have taken me half a day if I could have done it at all! He said he installs over 400 ceiling fans annually. Their price was very competitive and the work was done quickly and professionally. I highly recommend Ace Electrical Service!

Mike and Victor are just the best. Mike came and gave me an estimate on installing LED's in my two rooms. Fair price. Then came 2 weeks later and installed it. The entire room was covered in protective clothing and did an amazing job.

Our previous general contractor didn't do a good job so we have to find a good electrician to do a check up and fix some issues on electrical system. This is my first time to hire a professional electrician. I made a appointment with Ace electrical service to get a estimate. The only confusion is that I was told at the end of the service that it was charging by hours and no estimate was given. So I basically didn't know when will I get charged and how much will I get charged during the appointment. I am glad the issues were fixed promptly by Michael. He seems to be very knowledgeable about electricity. I just wish the communication could be better so I know what I was into. Luckily, the total cost was reasonable and didn't cost a fortune.

Ace Electric is the best! They are responsive, straightforward, and do a great job at a reasonable price. I would highly recommend them to anyone. It took me forever to find an electrician to work on my condo, and I am so grateful I found Ace.

Victor replied right away and arranged the appointment. I had a broken dining room ceiling light fixed and replaced, as well as converted to a dimmer. I also had dimmers replaced in multiple rooms and an outlet replaced. Very happy with the job they did, and I would definitely use them again.

We had a great experience with this company.  The owner was very responsive and courteous, he made sure to ask all the right questions and to answer all of the ones that we had for him. Easily scheduled an appointment to do three different projects. Both electricians were very experienced, knowledgeable, professional, and just awesome guys overall to deal with. Initially, they ran into significant problems while installing recessed lighting due to a weird house design, but they were able to troubleshoot quickly and come up with a great solution to resolve all issues. Everything was completed on time and with flawless final results. We will definitely use Ace Electrical Service for all future electrical needs! Highly recommended to everyone.

We hadn't used Ace Electric before. Yesterday Raymond came to our house to replace some old recessed lights. He came when he said he would and was helpful and professional. He understood what we were looking for and reviewed a number of suitable newer fixtures with us (there have been many advances in lighting). We chose fixtures which are far better than what we had and Raymond installed them perfectly.

Highly recommend this service.  Spoke to Victor to schedule installation of ceiling fan and repair of florescent lights.  He explained the service and ask questions to make sure the installer had the correct material.
Mike did the installation.  He was early, which Victor called to inform us.
Mike installed the fan and tested the operation with me.
The florescent lights were in a hard to reach ceiling crown molding cubby hole type space.  He replaced the ballast(s) and put in 3 new tubes (4 foot).
Plus replaced outlet, too.
Very reasonable cost.

Vincent was on time and professional.

Needed to replace hard wired smoke detectors on first and second floor with smoke/c02 detectors.

I bought the Kidde hard wired smoke/c02 detectors at Home Depot for about $50 each.

Vincent came 5 minutes early for a 9am appointment and was done replacing 2 detectors and checking the other 2 in the bedrooms in about an hour.

For $95 per hour well worth it.

There are youtube how to videos but did not want to take chance and get electrocuted.

Wow, really great service! Spoke to Victor at Ace Electrical Services on the telephone and he quickly understood my home electrical issue and arranged an appointment for service.  He also gave me a heads up call shortly before the technician arrived at my home.

Raymond, the electrician assigned to my job, arrived on time and seemed very experienced.  He was friendly and very easy to talk too.  He worked quickly, diagnosed my patio lighting problem, and made the necessary repairs to solve the problem.  My wife and I were so impressed with the service that we asked Raymond to give us estimates on two other electrical issues that we would like to have the company do in the near future.

The electrical repair charges for my job were very reasonable, as were the estimates for the repair work that I want done after the first of the year. In the future, I will definitely use Ace Electrical Services as my go to electrical company.

Excellent service and reasonable price.  My vanity light stopped working one day and I decided to replace the vanity light, the switch and the GFCI breaker that runs through it.  Unbeknownst to me, that GFCI technology changed since I last installed one.  Ace Electrical service responded to me within the 1st day of my request for quote.  The technician came over and pretty much diagnosed the problem in the first 5 minutes.  To make this review short, my light was working within 20 minutes and some preventative measures were placed to avoid this from happening again.  The quote was right on and problem solved.  

The technician (Raymond) was kind and patient enough to explain my mistake on the GFCI installation error due to a change in the industry standards.      

I would recommend this shop to anyone that needs electrical service.

I called another Yelp-regarded company that plied me with questions [that only an electrician could answer] and when I followed up to the to the best of my knowledge, never returned my call.  

ACE got my business, and I'll use them when the next challenge crops up.

These guys are great. Quality work at a fair price. Needed 2 new light switches and a few outlets (one tied to the circuit panel) created for a bedroom being converted into a master closet. For the first part of the job I used the contractor referred by the closet design company but felt like I got overcharged. For the second part of the job that same contractor quoted me $700. I found Ace and Mike did the job for $330. It came out perfect with no wall repair required. Don't get gouged by unscrupulous electrical contractors just out for a buck. Use Ace and you will be happy.

APRIL 2014 - CEILING FAN INSTALLATION

I found Ace Electric through Yelp (which can be hit or miss at times) but they really did a phenomenal job and I couldn't be more pleased!

I made an appointment for Saturday morning at 8:00AM.  Mike was running a few minutes late, but he was professional enough to call me and let me know.  It was only 5 minutes and not a big deal, but I appreciated his gestured and professionalism.

I needed to add a ceiling fan to a bedroom.  There was no prior wiring in place so we would have to run it through the attic above.  Based on the phone conversation, it seemed like an easy and standard job to them.  

When Mike opened up the attic however, he discovered it was for some reason, blocked off from the bedroom.  So rather than a quick install, Mike had to spend multiple trips going from the bedroom to the attic, trying to fish hook the wiring across.  This added a whole level of complexity and work (probably half an hour at the least on a very hot day) for which he never complained or even charged me extra for!

Throughout the installation, he kept things lively with fun conversation about some of his celebrity clients.  Mike seemed to really enjoy his work and seems like a fun guy in general.

I couldn't be happier with the work, plus he stuck to the original quote, despite the extra work and complexity.  THANK YOU!!!

I will DEFINITELY be using you again for any electrical services!!!  THANK YOU!!!

ACE was recommended to us by a close friend. We made an appointment to have a ceiling fan installed and Mike arrived on time and was able to explain exactly what he needed to do and what the cost would be. We did not have a junction box in our ceiling so it required him to wire everything. He was able to find a way to tie the wiring through the existing smoke detectors which limited the amount of holes he needed to cut in the ceiling to just one for the fan. Mike is a true pro and is also very friendly and polite. The ceiling fan installation came out better than I expected and Mike did an excellent job at prepping which left our house as clean as when he arrived. We were so impressed with Mike's service we hired ACE to come back the following week and install 2 more fans. The service was just as good the second time. ACE does quality work at a fair price. I would call ACE back anytime I need electrical work done.

I've used these guys to repair an electrical panel and to do a basic wiring job and they've been awesome both times.

Price quotes came in below other electricians, they always show up on time and get the job done fairly quickly.

They don't patch up drywall which I guess kind of makes sense since it takes a while to do and its generally a pain in the ass. Especially if you're an electrician and not a drywall guy. So keep that in mind. Will definitely call them again for anything that I can't figure out myself.

This guys were great! Called them, we set up an appointment and I was told how much it would cost to evaluate the problem, but their guess was that it would be a quick and simple fix. Someone came (showed up on time), found the problem and fixed it fairly quickly. The only reason for the lost star is because the guy wanted us to pay him with a check instead of credit card. There is a cost of doing business and the credit card fee should be one you take into consideration before hand. In this day in age, there are very few people who use checks.

After working with Ace for my main electrical panel repairs; they have earned my trust for all other projects.  

I have a home built in 1965. It has Bulldog, push-button circuit breakers.  These things are antique.  I have called other electricians and found that they do not want to mess with these circuits.  The standard answer is to replace the whole panel at a cost of $2500 and up.  This includes permits and minimal stucco repair.  Also, I found a lot of companies just take your phone number and say they will call you back, not Ace.

Vernon answered the phone and was able to take his time and explain what could be done with my panel.  I scheduled a repair the next business day.  Mike S. arrived and quickly diagnosed the problem.  He replaced a bad 15 amp paired circuit breaker.  He used a 'brand-new' Bulldog circuit breaker.  I didn't even know they still existed.  I have known neighbors that had to scrounge to find a 'good' used Bulldog C/B.  I was glad to see a new part.  

Mike talked me out of repairing one of my circuit breakers that I thought was bad.  He explained that the C/B was from an old 220volt hookup.  This breaker comes in pairs of a 20 amp circuit.  The left side of the pair was working fine.  I found that circuit was being used somewhere else in the house.   It was the right side that wasn't working properly.  And that right side was from the old 220volt hookup that has since been abandoned for use.  I would have replaced the pair thinking it was bad, but Mike S. is a honest man.

Since Mike was so quick in his work, I still had a few minutes left of my 'minimum' one hour of service.  I directed Mike to a problem light switch and he happily repaired it in just a few minutes.

I am very pleased with the service that I received.  Thank you.

This was the best experience with an electrician ever! I emailed them a list of things I needed done, and Victor replied the next morning with a cost estimate. Because I needed something fixed immediately, I called Powell Electric to do the same job. Powell came out and gave me an estimate of $1500. Ridiculous! I waited and rescheduled with Ace, and it cost me only $190.

Victor was very responsive about scheduling and providing an estimate. Mike, the electrician, was on time, very courteous, and did a great job.

I highly recommend them, and I will only use them in the future for my electrical needs.

Just completed a pretty straight forward project -- installed a 240v (NEMA 14-50) outlet in garage (electrical panel on opposite exterior wall) for EV charging.  Job was completed under 2 hours, received with utmost satisfaction.  Raymond took the time to talk about the install, safety precautions, and stayed an extra 10 mins after I plugged in the EV for the first time to ensure wires, breakers, and connections were performing as intended.

Great workmanship, prompt communication/responses, very competitive/reasonable pricing for Orange Co.

Ace, you guys are my go-to-electricians from here on out...

Over the course of a few months, half of our downstairs area would periodically go dark. This, of course, would happen right when my husband and I would be doing something that required electricity...like watch the season finale of Dexter.

Argh.

The last time this happened, the lights didn't go back on right away. In fact, they didn't come back on at all. So I checked around yelp and found Ace Electric. I left them a message since I called before business hours and they called me back right away. A very nice electrician named Gus came by the house and figured out the problem fairly quickly (poor electrical work during a previous remodel in the kitchen). The job wasn't a common issue, but he knocked it out in less than 2 hours and cleaned up everything as if nothing had happened. He even had to open up a small hole in the kitchen wall, but he patched it up just fine. I also thought the price for the repairs were very reasonable and they even offer deals on their website. Make sure to check it out before you call.

If I need an electrician again, I know who to call. Thank goodness for Ace Electric. And...thank goodness for Netflix and DVR's.

Just wanted everyone to be aware to get at least 3 bids from a licensed, bonded, insured electrician, IF you want to find the best electrician at the best price.  I'm writing this review because I called three of the highest-reviewed electricians I could find on Yelp (in my area) and ACE came in $900 more than the other two.

I let ACE know that they came in $900 higher than the other two companies I had called (both highly rated, insured, licensed, bonded electricians also).  I actually didn't realize their prices were non-negotiable, especially in these times, but maybe  based on all their high reviews, they figure they can overcharge with no concern to losing work since they know there will be so much more to come with these high reviews!  

Anyway, their response to me was exactly this: Thank you for letting us know. I am sorry we came in so much higher than the other contractors and I am a little concerned as I thought we gave you a competitive bid. Are you certain that all 3 of us are quoting you on the exact same thing? The quote that is $900 less than ours seems too cheap for the amount of work we quoted you on. Thank you for the opportunity, I hope we can be of service in the future.  

Anyway, my response back was, Yes, I'm sure. This is why I actually typed out a list of exact things I needed and had each company bid on those exact items in the way I had typed them out.  I also talked to each electrician in detail and discussed exactly what was listed and what would be done.  - I never got a response from them after that, until about a week or more later, they emailed me asking if I had any questions (something like that - as I don't have that email copy like I did the others) - and I then just simply replied with an attachment of the last email they'd given me and my response.  By the way, I chose the lowest bid and he did a fantastic job and he also has many high reviews.  No need to be concerned for me that he seemed too cheap.

At 1st, I rated them 5 stars just to match everyone else's ratings, since I really only wanted to give comments on their high prices and off-beat reply to me, implying I hadn't given the other electricians the same list of work, as if I was pretty dumb I guess!  Since Yelp is forcing me to rate, in order to comment, I had to pick the # of stars and was not justified to give them 5 since I'm saving my 5 stars for Alonso at 75 Electric, who also gets high ratings and came in with the most competitive bid and did a fantastic job, enough so that I've given his name to a friend at work and am having him come back next weekend for more work, not listed out originally!

So, regarding the 2-stars - that's not to rate ACE's work.  It's only rating their pricing structure (& email!)

I called Ace Electric based on their good yelp reviews. My problem was one of the circuits in my living room - the outlets and switches in 2 of the living room walls, ex had been experiencing intermittent failure for the past year or so. They finally went out completely recently. Ace is the third electrician I have had look at this.

The first one was the homesellers electrician that did repairs after the pre-purchase inspection. He fixed some reverse polarity issues and did not find any faults.

The 2nd repairman was called out by the Home Warranty company after I experienced the problem described above. They did find an outlet that was a little melted. It had overheated. they fixed it which restored electricity along the whole circuit that was out but did not offer any reasonable advice or explanation on the cause, how to prevent it in the future, etc.

Finally, this most recent time, I went to Yelp and found Ace Electric. I contacted them via their web form and received a call from them the next morning. They had me briefly describe the problem, quoted me an inexpensive hourly rate and estimated time to fix, and we scheduled them for the following afternoon.

Ray from Ace Electric came out today and fixed the issue (aluminum wiring on some of the sockets overheating). It cost less than I had anticipated and I could tell from his description of the issues, causes, and how to prevent issues in the future, that he was being honest with me and also knows his trade well. He even offered up some advice on our battle with fleas we are dealing with  after he overheard us talking about it, as he had recently battled them at his home. Great guy and great company.

Called them as we had power go out across multiple outlets in our kitchen and backyard.  Instead of sending someone out and wasting time and money, they made a few suggestions on the phone and it wound up just being a GFCI that needed to be reset.  Definitely will call them next time when we have a real project or emergency.

I found this place on Yelp and am so happy I did.
I needed help rewiring some of my outlets to light switches, changing outlets, and fixing the my bathroom tube light banister (if that's what it's called).

They were timely.
The electrician explained everything in as much detail as I wanted.
He took an estimate, very reasonably priced and stuck to it.
He completed his work efficiently and gave me additional advise on keeping my home safe.

I called ACE to schedule a simple repair. Victor kept me in contact throughout the entire process from beginning to the end. My calls are always answered/returned, he even took the trouble to let me know 20 minute ahead of MIke's arrival. It was a rather straightforward installation for an installation of an outlet and some troubleshooting in the kitchen. Mike the technician took the time to explain to me the entire work and the whole thing was done within the time Victor promised, furthermore the charges were extremely reasonable and fair.

I appreciate the professionalism and integrity they exhibited. It is really hard to find someone like ACE and I will recommend them to any of my friends. Needless to say I will be working with them again for any new projects.

We live in a condo and the patio lights would flicker on and off for months until they finally stopped working. Same issue with some lighting fixtures in the kitchen. A lighting fixture that illuminates my house number went bad. Technician diagnosed (looked at photo sensor, light bulb, etc) and determined it was the ballast that went bad. The ballast wasn't commonly stocked size. They could have special ordered, but they went out of their way to locate a compatible one to get the repair done same day. The exceptional part of the service was that the technician identified potential issue where the light bulb was touching some wires (from original installation by builder) that caused the wires to blacken. He made adjustment so that the light bulb would not touch and prevent potential future issues. They didn't just fix what was broken, but made sure everything functioned properly.

Excellent and professional service! It's so refreshing to get a live person when you call in, and Victor was very efficient at setting things up and being very clear on the charges. Mike came at the appointed time and figured out all my Malibu lights and whether they needed bulbs or full replacement. After him giving me a very simple shopping list, I went to Home Depot and made the purchases. He also looked at my non-functioning waterfall and diagnosed the problem with the electricity. He even talked to my waterfall guy directly when there were questions. Mind you, this was when Mike was on another job! If any business goes above and beyond, this is it! Ace Electric came recommended by a friend, but the reviews stand for themselves, don't they? A+ plus plus all the way!!

Mike from ACE was out this morning to replace a ballast for a recessed fluorescent light. He did it so quickly, nicely and professionally, I asked him if he could look at a connection in a box for a fountain pump. He fixed that in 10 minutes, and with no extra charge, which was very reasonable to begin with! He's earned a loyal customer! I'll be calling them for my future electrical jobs!

We had just had air conditioning installed for the first time, and in the process, discovered a bad electrical problem (stemming from our copper wired house - 1960's era).  My husband called me at work in a panic, because we had no electricity (and he can't survive without tv or the internet!!)...  I did a quick survey of friends at work, but no one knew of a reliable electrician.  So, Yelp to the rescue!

The guy from Ace came to the house faster than he had said he would (within 20 minutes; during rush hour in the evening) was very knowledgeable, and very courteous.  I'm not well-versed in electrical stuff, but at only $125, it seemed a very reasonable price for what he die.

Called Ace and they had the lowest hourly rate and prompt customer service.  I called a couple other competitors and ask them if they wanted to match the rate and they said, no.  Mike showed up on time and was able to fix an outlet grounding issue we had.  He was very professional and the final bill was very reasonable.  I would definitely recommend their services in the future.

One area of our house doesnt have a power which happened to be the garage area. Im stock in the house couldn't open our garage. Went to yelp to look for an electrician and Ace Electric was top of the list. I called them and they came on time as promised. It end up one of the circuit breakers was broken. Just a short review to give Ace Electric a definite thumbs up in my book.  After calling 4 other companies listed here on Yelp and not getting a human -- I don't like to leave voice messages since they often don't get returned -- Victor from Ace answered the phone.  

My outlet wasn't working and he immediately suggested a few things for me to look at before scheduling an appointment.  As it turns out, the fix was really simple!  Even though they didn't get an appointment from me this time, you can bet I'll call them to come out next time and I hope this Yelp review gives them 10 times more business!

That's how good businesses should operate -- be fair and honest and you'll get more business in the long run.  Thanks again, Ace Electric.

Its April 2016 and we wanted more outlets in the garage. I knew who to call in an instant. Mike W at Ace Electric was here within 3 days and less than 2 hours later- 2 new outlets for my husband's varies projects in the garage and I had a faulty plug in the master bath, that was changed out. This company and Mike are outstanding in this field in Irvine. Stop fooling around and get an appt and make your life easier. I wanted all the choices of what they could do in the garage and chose the option where the budget was balanced with the cost of different choices. I am not a fan of flat rate fees as I didn't know what my options were so talk first, let Mike look at the job, and discuss what works best within the budget.

I needed to get a new electrical circuit placed in my garage but I work all week.  Called up Ace Electric and was able to get a Saturday appointment for an estimate.  I was given a 1 hour window for the appt. (not too bad).  Got a call on Saturday to verify the appointment and met Gus the electrician.  He was able to estimate out the project on various possible configurations.  I went with a simple job that placed the plug near the electrical box which he could do right away!  20 minutes later, the job was done.  Perfect for me as I just could not wait multiple weeks to get it done.  Work was done cleanly and professionally.  I would definitely call them again for any electrical work.

I called Ace Electric after finding them on Yelp.  We just purchased our house and needed to upgrade outlets to GFCI outlets, rewire the garage, install lights and fans, as well as some other little odds and ends.  I received a call back immediately and was able to set up an appointment for an estimate shortly after.  The estimate was fair and we were very happy with the work.  Ace was also very accommodating in terms of meeting our schedule, as well.  I highly recommend them for any electrical work you may need, and we will certainly be using their services as needed in the future.

If you live in Orange County, California and you need an electrician, this business is as good as it gets.  I read many great reviews about this business online, so I called them. I needed the patio light replaced.  The guy gave me a quote over the phone as to how much they charge per hour and about how long he thought it would take to do the work.  So Raymond came out to our house.  He arrived on time and was very courtious and professional. He looked at the light that my husband had bought as the replacement patio light and found the installation hardware was missing from the box so he couldn't install it.  So, I asked Raymond if he would go to a home improvement store and buy a light that would work.  He gladly agreed to go.  Long story short -- they installed the light and didn't charge me a fortune. I would recommend ACE Electric to my friends and I'll be calling them again.

i recently decided to change out my old fluorescent kitchen lights to recessed lights. i called around and got quotes from 3 different places. ace wasn't the cheapest, but the people were easiest to talk to and the prices seemed reasonable. i'm really happy i went with them! they were prompt about returning my calls, understood exactly what i wanted, and arrived on time. they're licensed and have a lot of experience; they asked a lot of questions i hadn't thought of to make sure i got exactly what i wanted. my lights turned out great and my kitchen looks so much better.

Used them again and was again happy with the service.  The technician troubleshot our dead garbage disposal and fixed each item based on what he thought was wrong.  The work was top notch and took him exactly an hour which was their minimum anyhow.  My only complaint was that they were a little slow responding to my email request so if you're in any sort of hurry, a phone call might get the job done faster.

I've been working with these guys for years and never had a problem with their services. And even when I did, I still didn't. Let me explain. The wife plugs something in upstairs then all hell breaks loose. Nothing works any more. I try to fix it and now looking like an idiot, have to call someone before my marriage goes to pieces. I call Ace, get a next day appointment. The guy shows up (on time) and fixes it in less than an hour. Just looks too easy. Everything works fine. For an hour. Call them right back and this is the part I love. I get the same guy back the same day. Not next week, not next month. Apparently the part he used was defective. He put in another one, didn't try to charge me for anything, as a matter of fact he was very apologetic for wasting my time That was a few days back and everything seems to be working fine ever since. Just for that I'd give them six stars if I could. Oh, wait... ****** here it is!

I found Ace on Yelp and called them for a quick quote. I needed a ceiling fan installed on a regular height ceiling that already  had a light fixture in place, so no need to run extra wiring.  They said the job would probably take an hour at $95/hour and if I needed to replace the plastic box with a metal one then it would cost another $75. I made an appointment for the following Saturday at 9am.  True to their word, the electrician showed up at exactly 9am. He was professional and quick. The project took an hour and the total cost was $170 (turned out I need to replace the plastic box with a metal one).  He also changed the switch from a dimmer to a regular at no cost. While he was there I asked him for ideas on installing recessed lighting on my vaulted ceiling. He gave me a lot of information about different types of lighting and what else I could do to  light the room instead of can lights. If I decide to do that project in the future, I will definitely call Ace Electric again. I highly recommend them.

I had Ace Electric come out to install two pendant lights and an outdoor fan/light. I was really pleased with the service and professionalism of Mike who came out and expertly finished the job as they promised. Let's face it, most people are afraid to even hire any contractor because a lot of them overpromise and underperform (or don't show up etc.). Mike is a very knowledgeable electrician. He went to school to learn how to become an electrician. He knows his trade and he knows how to do it - he didn't just pick this up overnight.  This years of experience is what you get when you hire Ace Electric. I know a lot of people that just want to hire some unlicensed electrician and then are angry and upset when they fail to do the job or halfway try to do a job they are unqualified to do.  As someone who has had really bad contractor experiences, I can only say that if you hire Ace you will get a quality, licensed, professional electrician that will do an honest job. It doesn't get any better than that!  I would definitely use Ace Electric again and I am also recommending them to my dad who needs some electrical work.

i was getting a tankless water heater installed. the plumber said i would need to have an electrician hard wire the electricity to the water heater. i didn't know who to call so i checked on yelp and found that Ace Electric was highly recommended so i gave them a call.

Victor answered the phone and was able to quote a price over the phone based on my description of the work that needed to be done. He was very friendly and patient. I called another electrician who was also well reviewed on Yelp and found that Ace was in the same ballpark as the 2nd electrician so I went with Ace since i called them first.

I scheduled to have them come out at 10AM on 8/30/10. Ray was the electrician who was sent out. Since they are based out of Irvine and I'm in Diamond Bar, I was expecting them to be a little late especially since they're coming during peak rush hour, but Ray was actually 15 minutes EARLY. He was very polite. I explained what I was getting installed and he decided the best way to do it. He tore out the electrical box for an existing switch, dropped in a new duplex switch box so now i still have 1 switch for the light outside and 1 switch to serve as my water heater shut off. Since the plumber was late, Ray who was thoughtful & conscientious, left a longer length wire to make sure the wire would reach the water heater & left some straps to fasten the wire down to the stucco. It took him about an hour or so to do the work at the quoted price. I can highly recommend Ace. They are on-time, have a great attitude, do good work (Ray explained the work he was doing and why he was doing it), and offer reasonable prices! I will definitely be calling Ace back when I need electrical work in the future.
