Established in 1990.
Scott began working for a major drain cleaning company in the 80's and in 1990, he started Able Plumbing and Drain Service. For over 30 years, he serviced various residents of San Diego and hopes to continue to offer great service and exceptional work.

Scott, has been our plumber for over 16yrs. His work is excellent & fast & his prices are very fair
Scott is our go to guy for all plumbing needs! Our house was built in 1958 so you can only imagine the kind of problems it has...
Any time my husband calls Scott he gets back to us ASAP and usually even comes out the same day! Several years ago he even came out on Thanksgiving Day! The service and communication cannot be beat. We think he may not even require sleep. Haha!
A few days ago all the drains were backing up...again. Scott came out today and fixed it in record time. His prices are also always fair. We appreciate you, Scott- thank you!
This is not a review based on one great effort. This is a review based on an impeccable run of 10 years, keeping my sub-standard, cheaply built, Clairemont plumbing running in tip top shape. What a shame I originally found Scott to undo the damage of the big name guys, who charged way more, did way less, and left a mess. Support your local independent.

The city had some contractors do pipe work on our street a while back and since then, the water pressure in our house has been off. We couldn't use multiple water lines (i.e, when showering, we couldn't do laundry or use the sink. Otherwise, we would get almost no water running)
We first had the city come in and take a look at the pressure and they of course did not want to take responsibility and suggested that we needed a new regulator and change 2 of the valves. Scott showed up today and to assess the situation. He was able to isolate a few things and find the root cause of the problem in 20 mins. This was suppose to be a free of charge assessment (as he had mention over the phone), but since he help us figure what the problem was, we gave him a little of cash.
He does charge $95 a visit, so i would describe the problem with him over the phone and then be clear on what expectations are from both ends.
Scott Fiori, of Able Plumbing, is by far the best plumber I've ever called. In addition to knowing his stuff, he is friendly and, most importantly, honest. He's repaired a leaky water filter and clogged bathroom drain for me. Based on the work he has done for me, I will continue to use him in the future.
Scott came by today, replaced my broken garbage disposal and also did an excellent job replacing some old piping underneath our kitchen sink. He took the time to make sure everything fit right and left everything clean and working. He guarantees his work and is more than reasonable with what he charges.

Scott was prompt and honest. Came and fixed my problem the best and most convenient way possible. I understand one can never know what you're getting into until you're there but the quote over the phone was very accurate.
I'm very happy to find someone in the neighborhood and will be recommended him as well as using him in the future.

I was charged $125 for a service call that took 15 minutes and was apparently an easy fix. I pointed out that this was the equivalent of charging $500 per hour and if that was their standard rate...I was told that the fee was per service ( mind you a service that took 15 mins, in and out the door) and coming to my house. Even factoring in a fair house call rate and then an hourly fee still would have been less money. I would strongly recommend calling around, I was in a pinch and went wit who could come first, there are a million plumbers in SD, don't use this one unless you are prepared for an outrageous pricing structure!
I called Scott the evening before he came out to our home. I asked if he could take care of our plugged kitchen sink the next day. He said he would be out by 10am. He called ahead the next morning and arrived at our home as promised. He got the job done and was very courteous. His price was very fair for the work done. I highly recommend him!

I called on a Tuesday morning, and he said he could be here in an hour. Scott showed up on time and got right to work. He cleaned my shower/tub drain that I lived with for 2+ years quickly. I would highly recommend him to anyone. In summary, great service, great price, great job.
Scott has worked on little things we've had go on around the house and few times and has always been prompt and incredibly reasonable with his prices.
He is wonderful and I can't say enough for what great work he does and what great customer service he provides.

After a long day at work all I wanted to do was come home and relax. When I got back home I was greeted by my daughter yelling. The toilet was clogged and overflowing heavily, it turns out that she tried to flush a newspaper down the toilet. I tried a plunger and some draino but that didn't help at all. I remembered that one of my friends knows of a great plumbing company. I gave him a cool to get the information for the company. I made the call and was immediately speaking to a live person. I told him the problem I was having with my toilet. He suggested that he could send a plumber right away to repair my toilet. The Plumber arrived later than night and he used a special type of plunger to fix my toilet. It took him about 10 minutes to completely unclog everything. This surprised me very much. I heard they were fast, but not this fast! The plumber was very nice also, he was telling me stories about the types of things he found in customers toilets. I would rate this company five stars across the board. It was very a very simple and easy process.

Fast, professional and very reasonably priced! I've called this plumber twice and am completely satisfied with the service provided.
Bathroom drain clogged on a Saturday afternoon and most places were closed or said they would come out Monday. I tried to do what I could, even buying a drain snake from Home Depot which broke as I tried to use it. I called Scott and he said no problem but he wouldn't be available for a couple of hours.
He came out earlier than he said and fixed it quickly. He told where to get a snake that would work and shared a couple of techniques to use so that it wouldn't break. I thanked him for the advice, but I would more than likely just call him if I needed any more plumbing work done.
He told me the price up front. It was on a Saturday afternoon, but even with that I thought the price was reasonable.
Scott is a very good plumber. He is trustworthy and professional. He even came a day before the repair to take a look at my shower valvle screwup to see what he needed for the repair. Very nice guy and his repairs have never failed me. His prices are next to none. Lets just say all these other plumbing companies cant even come close to Scotts prices. Hes the definition of fair. Please call Scott to get ur plumber repairs fixed.

Scott is a great guy! He came out to clear our drain on a moments notice. Very friendly, prompt and courteous. About a week later our drain clogged again probably due to female toiletries in our drain AGAIN. He came back out promptly and cleared out the drain again and didn't even charge me! What a guy! Highly recommended if you want prompt, professional service for drain clearing in San Diego.

We contacted Scott Fiori, of Able Plumbing, very late in the evening through e-mail. He answered and said he would be at our home at 8:30 in the morning. We had a new kitchen faucet that we found to be defective and needed to have him install a different new one. We also were having problems with the drain in the bath tub. We got a new faucet from Home Depot and had it ready when Scott arrived. He gave us a fair estimate before he started the job. He was very prompt, efficient and friendly. When he left, my husband said there was a leak under the sink. I called Scott and he came back within minutes. It turned out the drain in one of the sinks was ancient and my husband had probably banged it when he was trying to install the faucet. That was the leak. Scott had the pipe needed in his truck and fixed it immediately. I asked what we owed him for the unexpected work and he said nothing. I will call him from now any time we need a plumber and I will recommend him to friends.

I called Able Plumbing based on a recommendation from my neighbor. I am glad I did. Scott delivers prompt and courteous service. He actually charged me less than he quoted. I would definitely use Able Plumbing again.

We just had a plumbing emergency in our condo. The hot water in the tub would not shut off. We found Able Plumbing on Yelp, called number and the owner of Able Plumbing, Scott Fiori arrived in minutes. Scott was professional, courteous and well mannered. He replaced the broken valve and the water was back on in 40 minutes. Scott is the guy we will call for future plumbing repairs we highly recommend him.

Living in an old house in Serra Mesa we had the tubs clogged and backed up. in the morning I contacted Able plumbing and spoke with Scott the owner who picked up the phone and was patient as I explained the situation. He quoted me a price over the phone and let me know that if there was further issues and costs he would call and let me know right away..
The service took over an hour to fix and unclog and he still honored the original quote.. Scott was extremely professional and knowledgeable yet easy to talk to in laymen terms..
I will definitely be calling him again with any future issues and recommending him to all my friends and family!!

We live in an older home in Serra Mesa, and we had part of a pipe break on us. After trying to fix it ourselves for hours without success, we called Scott in a panic at 5pm on a Sunday evening. He offered to come out to take a look, and was there within about 15 minutes. After taking a look, he let us know that the work we needed to do was pretty involved, but he reassured us that it could be fixed. He got to work right away, and by 7pm we had the water back on in our home.
We are so thankful to have Scott in our community and would recommend him to anyone!

I had a clogged toilet in my rental unit. I called Able Plumbing and the owner (Scott Fiori) was able to come the same day. He fixed the problem and found that someone had thrown baby wipes in the toilet. He also wrote his finding on the receipt so I can charge the tenant for the call. Great service! I've used Able Plumbing a couple of times before and they've always been very reasonable and fair. I highly recommend them.
I found Scott on Yelp and decided to give him a call for a backed up drain. He came out the same day. I've since used him for a several other plumbing issues. I higly recommend Able Plumbing. He's very professional, honest & does great work. Thank you Scott! I will be using Able Plumbing for any future issues as well.
I had some work done from Able Plumbing a while back and forgot to write a review for Scott. I had the same issue with both toilets in my home. The water from the tank was constantly leaking into the bowl. The parts inside the tank were rusted and the supply lines leading to the toilets were not in great condition either.
I thought for sure I would be out a lot of money, potentially even a new toilet or two. Scott came by on a weekend within 30mins of my call and without a rush fee. He ended up doing a quick repair job on both and told me taught me how to maintain and keep them in good running condition. I'm probably not suppose to mention what the project cost, but I was VERY pleasantly surprised.
Within 10 minutes of discovering the sink next our washer was clogged (causing water to flow all over the garage floor), Scott had diagnosed the problem and was snaking the drain. We really appreciate his quick response, expert work, and reasonable prices -- especially on a Saturday afternoon. We plan to have him replace the faucet in our garage soon and will keep his number handy for any future plumbing mishaps.

The kitchen discharge was flowing out of the entrance to the outdoor trap onto the ground under my deck due to a blockage in the drain pipe. I contacted three companies and Able Plumbing was the least expensive of the three and was available the next day. I made an appointment for the next day with a 9-12 pm window. Brandon showed up at 9:05 am and had the blockage cleared within 30 minutes. Brandon was knowledgeable and friendly. There was a 1 hour minimum charge for the service. I paid $110 plus a $6 invoicing fee. I could not have been happier with Able Plumbing. I will call Able Plumbing again in the future if I had another plumbing need.
A girlfriend recommended Able Plumbing to me and I used him for quite a while. In the spring of 2018, my water bills began averaging 100 gallons per day more than ever before (of course San Diego Public Utilities refused to even reread my meter). I called Scott and he checked all that he could but found no answer. He referred me to Cable Pipe & Leak - they found nothing. So he insisted that it had to be my sprinklers and he referred me to a very sketchy sprinkler company that found nothing. I called Scott to come out again. Long and short of it was that he angrily and vehemently insisted that it WAS the sprinkler system and that if I didn't agree with him, I could Just find someone else! He stormed off and did not return my call the next day regarding a different issue. i.e. he fired me!
Months later, there was a boiling pool of water in my backyard that was the result of a broken galvanized water pipe! This very disturbing fiasco cost me over $5,000 in total....thank you Scott!

Scott answered immediately, was at my home within the hour, and had the drain unplugged within 2 hours of my call.
I have been using Able Plumbing for 12+ years on my family's apartment complexes (37+ units ) and for my personal homes. Scott always shows up on time and fixes what is needed.I have never had to question a bill or what was being done. I have in the past and still highly recommend Able Plumbing to friends and aquaintences. They stand behind their work and are great to work with and are very trustworthy. Scott is the best there is.

After reading all the great reviews I decide to give them a call. I called and explained the issue we are having. And the man on the phone reply's uh yeah sure whatever then fumbles around for a while then asks me for my address. With the lack of courtesy and professionalism I was given just over the phone I would never allow them into my home.
Funny how they say he is a one man show but someone who wasn't even on the call is replying to my review...
I am sure Scott is an excellent plumber. I unfortunately didn't get a chance to experience that. I was calling looking for help, I wouldn't be rude but that is what I got in return. You got your story mixed up, since you weren't on the call it is understandable. I repeated what he said as I was surprised by it. You also got it wrong that I hung up on him. Before I hung up I said with so many other plumbers in San Diego, I will take my business elsewhere.
I am not one that leaves reviews on yelp often, but I felt this one needed to be done.

Scott is a fantastic plumber! Very professional and quick to respond if not already on a job. He has done some very specialty work for us too. You can't go wrong calling Scott. He is very friendly and heck... never had to see what plumbers are famous for!
I called Able Plumbing and Scott, the owner, answered the phone himself. He was friendly and offered to unclog the shower drain in my Serra Mesa home the same day. I also had him look at several other issues and he returned a few days later to fix both of my toilets a bathroom sink and he installed a new faucet and shower head I bought at Lowes.
Scott is a very nice and soft-spoken man. He has a wonderful attention to detail and alerted me to some issues I didn't even know I had. He as punctual and honest about the cost for the work.
Though I would like to keep him to myself as one of my homeowner's best-kept secrets I highly recommend Scott for both his excellent work and his great integrity!
Scott installed a new kitchen faucet for us which was well done and we were satisfied. We also had a problem with a toilet that was rocking. After a few mishaps and an honest review from him on our toilet situation, we felt he had done all that he could do. My only complaint is he left a large mess behind. When I mentioned this to him, in a text after he had left, he did return and finish cleaning up what I had not completed yet. A very friend and fair man!

Our garbage disposal broke, pipe leaked and I panicked because having 2 young kids and not able to use the sink?! Sent out a Yelp request for plumbers and Scott responded. The company was recommended by another plumber we've used in the past and loved, but couldn't accommodate my urgent request (clogged toilet). Scott responded my call fast and were able to come within an hour, the service was simple according to him and it was done in less than 10 minutes. He charged $125 for the service and even though I thought it was expensive I said yes because my desperate necessity. Its not that I wouldn't recommend him, but if I had time to shop before deciding I would, however once your bathroom has poop all over it, theres little to think about.
Very courteous and quick response. Highly recommended. It's great to find reliable service providers who I can call when the need arises. Thank you Scott!

Our toilet was running/leaking and making a constant tapping noise. Gave Scott a call based on previous Yelp reviews. He was so friendly on the phone. I was worried about being charged a crazy fee on a weekend, but he assured me that Saturday morning would cost the same as Monday. He also explained that he can come by, give me an estimate, and I can make my decision at that point, with no charge if I decided not to do anything.
Scott came by this morning to assess my situation, gave me a real picture of what was going on and what needed to be done and a quote.
We rent our unit, and because major work needed to be done, I needed to check with my landlord first.
Our landlord decided against it and told us he'd get it fixed himself.
If it was just me, I would have moved forward with Scott in a heartbeat. He was straight up and honest and I could tell he was all about doing an efficient job.

So I purchased and installed two brand new toilets about a month ago.
Sunday (of course right before the superbowl) I discovered that one of them was leaking. I had no idea why or who to call...so yelp to the rescue...
Scott is (one word).....AWESOME!
Can't say enough...
I called after five...he answered.
Due to work I couldn't meet until noon the next day....he was 15 mins early and called to let me know he was waiting
He walked in looked at it, told me what the problem was, fixed it.....all in less than an hour
He recaulked the part around the base, cleaned up and left the bathroom in an awesome condition
He garranteed his work for a year! Fantastic.

Was trying to fix the water pump on the refrigerator on a Sunday afternoon. Unfortunately, the water valve leading to the refrigerator broke off before I could even get started. With water dripping at a quick pace, I called Able to help. Scott was at our place within 40 min after we got off the phone. He replaced the valve switch and saved the day all within about 30 min. He did great work! Would highly recommend his services.
