HISTORY
Established in 2000.
Owner owned Sonoran Desert Xeriscape. That business was closed due to retirement of one of the owners. Shortly after that Tranquil Oasis Landscapes was created. Have installed designs at over 300 homes.

Nick Bourque has installed over 300 homes. Most of the designs are his own.
He is the exclusive installation company for Judy Mielke who wrote a book 'Plants for the Desert Southwest'.
Also the exclusive installation company in the metropolitan Phoenix are for designs created by Scott Calhoun owner of Zona Gardens, well known architect and author. Have also worked on projects with Logan Simpson Designs and Tenyck Architects.
Nick also teaches classes for Xeriscape conversion.

We were in need of some new landscaping after having a pool installed. We contacted Nick at Tranquil Oasis and he came up with an incredible re-design of our existing landscaping. Nick was very responsive and took into consideration all of our needs and some of the quirks of our yard. Nick and his crew gave us the desert oasis we were looking for. We were so happy with it that we are now considering having him re-design our front yard as well in the near future.
Super professional, on time, and gave the type of elite customer service that is so rare these days. I highly recommend Tranquil Oasis Landscapes.

I actually did not get to work with Nick because the project I had in mind was not something that he could take on at this time, but I wanted to leave my review here because I was very impressed with the interaction we had. Nick was responsive, listened well, and was resourceful, and he understood what I wanted better than I did! And he was very honest and upfront about why he could not take on the project. I would definitely reach out to him again when I have a different project and recommend him highly to people who are considering landscaping projects!

This is our second project with Tranquil Oasis. This time, our front yard. Since install finished, people just stop in the middle to the road and stare. Tonight, we had just started taking the dog for a walk when, a couple parked in the road for longer than usual, so we walked up. She had driven by and loved the yard so much, that she ran home to get her husband to show him. Thanks to Nick's design and his hard working crew, we have an amazing transformation of our front yard for which we get to accept all the complements. We are already working with Nick to transform our back yard.

My girlfriend and I recently purchased a new home in the east valley that had dirt only in the backyard and called several landscapers with a vision on what we thought we wanted. After several quotes we began to realize that our expectations and what it would cost didn't match up. However, we hadn't received our quote from Nick and we were pleasantly surprised with what we got! He took our vision and made it a reality by recommending alternatives that we had never considered. His vision was more than we would have expected and the results were outstanding! Nick and his team were courteous, explained everything up front and made sure everything we had was what we wanted.
We have recommended Tranquil Oasis to everyone that has asked and even called them back out a few weeks ago to install pavers in our front yard. Great company and we will definitely be using them again when we get ready for artificial turf in the front.
We are so incredibly happy with the way Nick & his crew transformed our backyard from an unappealing space to a place that is inviting and peaceful. They pay meticulous attention to every phase of the job. Tge work was completed in a very timely manner and Nick's crew is polite and courteous.

I reach out to the company for an appointment. The response was very fast. I have a new build house so it was alittle hard to find. Once he arrive he begin to ask me of my ideas. Wee exchanged back and forth and even though I wasn't really sure he seems ok. He recommended I wait until after I have my pool in before finishing the backyard. Ok but then we decided to hold off on the pool a few years because of the age of the small children. I emailed them back to share this info as I was ready to move forward on the landscaping it took to days for him to decline the job. That's 2 days I had decline services from 2 other companies. Now I'm back to the drawing board
This review was about communication. When I got the decline via email it had no explanation of why he declined or any references. I'm a director of a facility & if I decline I also offer other choice and an explanation of why I denied. I can't comment on workmanship as I didn't see any.

Showing up on-time is not something that is common in this industry. I don't know how many other landscape designers I called prior to talking to Transquil, but even ones that had 5 stars with hundreds of reviews failed to show up on time so as you can imagine, when they showed up at the exact time they said they would, it would be a good sign.
I didn't have a huge project for them, mostly finishing up a job that the last company was working on. Once they came back, they told me they would have my quote ready that afternoon and would email it. Quote same day? Unheard of.
Sure enough, I received the quote and told them I'd like to start and received an email back minutes later stating they would start in two days.
There was a hiccup along the way, not their fault, but they were professional and worked with me to get it resolved. At the end of the week, my yard is done, looks great and I couldn't be happier.
I wish more landscape designers would understand how important showing up on time is... Thanks Transquil Oasis!
So far so good. As promised, I got an estimate and quote within a reasonable time.
I hired Nick to redo my entire yard and it now looks amazing and we are very happy. The job consisted of removal of concrete pool decking, plants, lawn and granite and installing a large travertine paver deck around the pool, new plants, lawn and all new irrigation. Nick and his team did the job quickly and ahead of schedule and it looks great. Nick has lots of great ideas for design and plant selection and was flexible and easy to work with. Easy to reach and always on time. He worked with me for quite a while on the design and provided great drawings and a detailed so we could see what to expect as we tweaked the design. Would hire Nick again in I had the need.
Unfortunately, we were unable to use Tranquil Oasis due to a scheduling conflict. However, Nick was incredibly professional; he was on time each and every time we had an appointment and his designs were clean, modern, and exactly what we wanted.
We were disappointed that we were unable to work within his schedule, because he blew us away with what he could give us in our budget.
Thank you Nick, next time we need someone you will be the first we call!
Beware wolf in sheeps clothing!!!!
I recently moved to Queen Creek, not familiar with weather patterns in the valley needless to say!! Nick seemed so kind when he came out.....but boy after he had his thousands of cash $$$ in his hands the service went out the window and and down the road! One of the trees (that i didn't order....he decided what was better for me and planted who knows what) broke in half because of what I have come to know as a haboob just two days after he planted them. Nick proceeded to tell me too bad for you....I don't have to replace anything He was rude, belligerent, said he would fix things and then never came back. Didn't show up for scheduled appointments..... and that's not all. He fixed my timers.....LOL with his $2000 assessment of my property and set the new trees to water THREE AND A HALF HOURS FOR TWO AND A HALF WEEKS....flooded my yard and wasted God only knows how many gallons of water?!?!!? He never did come back to check his work I had to hire a new company, which if fabulous by the way, to fix his mess.....in all fairness Nick replaced the tree with a Charlie Brown branch but at least he sent his guy back out...so from TOL I paid $3000 cash for 9 $75.00 trees!!! He was very threatening and I am furious!! This will not be the end of it! Again, beware of wolf in sheeps clothing!! :(

My wife and I wanted to redesign our backyard landscaping, but were unsure where to start. Our goal was to remove a rather large area of grass (talk about a monthly water bill and labor to maintain!) with desert plants and trees. We also wanted our yard to be more inviting to entertain family and friends, as well as for us to simply enjoy in the early mornings and evenings. That's where Nick and his team come in.
Nick took the time to consult with us and then came back a week later with a creative landscaping design that captured our goals. Our new backyard design is highlighted with cobblestone pavers, an inviting fireplace, and a tranquil water fountain. To enhance the layout we added a couple of Palo Verde trees, boulders strategically laid out and over 20 desert plants.
We were impressed with their dedication and commitment to quality. They truly care about their profession! The end result...we are enjoying our new Oasis! Thank you Nick and his hard-working team!

I'd like to start this off by saying that I never leave positive or negative reviews on any site for any reason. However, after Nick and his cre at Tranquil Oasis completely transformed our yard, I felt compelled to share our experience. Nick was 1 of 5 landscapers that we initially met with. Nick was the only one that took it upon himself to draw up a design for us showing us exactly what we want. He was also able to work with us and get the price to the budget we could afford. He and his crew just finished the job and we were blown away. It far exceeded our expectations. His workers were amazing and professional and after comparing the complete cost of the project with the 4 others on a Yelp, Tranquil was much more fair on cost. It's so beautiful now that my fiancé and I have even decided to have our wedding in our back yard now. I recently completed a $20K project with Tranquil Oasis and I could not be any happier with the results. The project included a natural stone fire pit and built-in grill, pavers, water pipe repair, and landscaping. Tranquil Oasis recently completed a moderate sized landscape project for us based on a design by Scott Calhoun. We have been delighted with both the process and the outcome. Nick Bourque tastefully interpreted the design, making sure that the landscape features (grading, boulders, soil cover, and plants) look natural and appropriate. He installed a high quality irrigation system and upgraded some existing irrigation. He and his team were always punctual and organized. Nick kept us in the loop on what was happening and was always available to answer questions. He collaborated well with Scott and solved unforeseeable problems as they came up. When you make a big investment in your home you really want someone working for you who cares as much as you about how it turns out. Nick really gave 110% for us. If you are thinking about having landscape work done, you really should talk to Nick.

Nick and his crew did an amazing job transforming my overgrown weeded backyard into a place where I can now sit, relax and have guests over. His knowledge and recommendations of plants and trees was far more than I expected. Very helpful and friendly. I interviewed a few landscapers and choose Nick for his honesty, suggestions and reasonable price.
Nick and his team recently completed our front yard landscaping, transforming the area from a wasteland to a most delightful xeriscape. The entire experience was wonderful - excellent workmanship, reasonable cost, and very timely completion. At the start, and throughout the process, Nick sought our input and made numerous constructive suggestions that improved the original Ten Eyck plan. We particularly liked the great care Nick took to obtain the best possible trees and shrubs. We recommend Tranquil Oasis without reservation.
