I run an automotive shop and sometimes need fast reliable service, I called three other companies first and could not get next day service, these guys came out next day and unclogged my drain for me, very professional and courteous. several days later my drain was clogged again and I was quite upset when they told me there was no warranty on my service because its an oily mop water drain, but they returned to check it out anyway, the technician Frank worked with me to make sure i was happy, explained to me my best options, and when we finally agreed to what was going to be done he found that there was a rag in my drain. So it was our fault all along. Frank worked with me some more and all in all Im very happy with the service and level of professionalism that they demonstrated, thanks again Frank for the great service!!

I had a major root problem in the sewer pipe for my house.  Professors of Plumbing did an amazing job in just a few days.  My front yard had to be dug up (about 5 feet down), a big section of my drive way had to be dug up, the whole sewer line had to be replaced and they did all this and put all back together, as good as it looked before -  in 2 and 1/2 days.

I was amazed at their professionalism and skill.  I thought this was going to be a nightmare, but it wasn't.  It was far less painful than I thought it ever could be.  I completely recommend them to anyone for a job as big as this or anything smaller.  They are my new plumber of choice.  They are worth everyone of the 5 stars I gave them.

I wish I could leave ZERO Stars. I have never experienced such unprofessional, incompetent work and broken promises to make it right, stated in front of an ROC inspector no less. I am still waiting after three weeks to hear anything from them about that!

The issue started when 1st American Home Warranty assigned Professors of Plumbing (now known as Thomas Home Services) to take a look at an issue I was having with my AC unit. Once there, they determined the issue was really plumbing, not the unit itself. APS had sent me two Google Nest Thermostats which I had been waiting to install, but I was afraid my system was too old, so while he was there, I asked the tech, Will this work with my system? He took a look and said yes, it would work. I then asked if he could install it and again he said yes, although in the process, he seemed unclear and called to consult with someone several times before completing the job. This was in November. Great weather, so I'm not using heat or cooling until December when I try to turn on the heat. NOTHING. I call Thomas Home Services, but they claim they only warranty their work for 30 days, and I was literally a day past. So I called 1st American and they send out another group who tell me the thermostat has been installed wrong and may have damaged the system, but that the ones who installed it have to do the repair work. Great. Thomas Home Services has actually answered the phone exactly twice (and this is over the course of multiple encounters with them)--after me calling and leaving messages daily, sometimes more than once a day. They NEVER RETURNED A SINGLE MESSAGE I LEFT! So they came out and got the heater working. Then the hot weather came and when I tried to switch to AC--still heating! More unanswered phone calls, a complaint to the ROC and the conversation where the ROC inspector said that my system was too old to handle to Nest Thermostat.  If THS had told me this in the first place, I would have avoided all of this and probably gotten a new AC through my home warranty! But because of their poor workmanship and refusal to take responsibility for that, I am out $6k.

I still can't over the fact that the THS rep stood there in front of me and the ROC inspector and told me he would call me tomorrow or Monday to make things right no matter what the ROC ruled. ROC found an out for them because several other companies had looked at the thermostats, so held them not responsible, even though no one else did any work on them. Save your time and don't bother with complaining to them!

But avoid this group at all costs! They failed to show up when the said they would, and when their worker didn't get to my house because another job took too long, instead of putting me on for the next day, I was put at the end of the line and scheduled for the next week! And I'm without heat in the coldest time of year! No apologies, just broken promises.

In a word....DISHONEST. This company sent out a tech that spent about 10 minutes and then declared that I needed an entire new AC unit. He put me on the phone with a hard sell supervisor who wanted me to buy a new unit OUTSIDE of my home warranty. I refused and his fall back position was that I needed a new coil. They waited a week (in 105 degrees temperature) to send in the report. When the did, it included a $1510 out of pocket charge. They tried to justify the charge saying it was to make things to code and other modifications. It was all a lie. Nothing they wanted to do had anything to do with the building code. My home was built to code by Pulte and is still in compliance. It was obvious  to me that the were being dishonest. I called the home warranty company explained the situation and they agreed to send out another contractor. The new contractor came out the next day, checked the system out and informed me that all I needed was about a pound of refrigerant. He added it at no charge and everything is fine.
This dishonesty is not only at the service technician level  but runs all the up through their management. The manager tried to justify everything....the whole company is rotten. By the way the operate under two different names... Professors of Plumbing and Air Conditioning and Thomas Home Services. The Professors of Plumbing and AC is the name they use with the home warranty companies. Under that name their ratings are dismal.

Beware...question everything they do.

I would not recommend these guys again. The manager who came out was amazing as was their customer service which is why I'm giving it 2 stars instead of one. However the guys who actually installed my AC were awful. They barely spoke to us and what would have taken only 6 hours turned into a 2 day job. 2 days of no AC. The main guy who was installing it left and left the guy who had NO clue on what he was doing, then drilled through a wire in my wall to my ceiling fan and also gave us the wrong thermostat and argued with us about it. NOW I found out that they did not fully seal my new AC into any of the duct work in the attic.. luckily they are coming out to fix it for free however I would not recommend them..

Now re-branded as Thomas Home Services.  I got a free service call but they charged me way over the cost of the part.  I paid $100.00 to have a Kohler bathtub spout replaced which took about 15 seconds to install.  He didn't have grease with him so he used my hand soap as a lubricant...what kind of plumber doesn't have the proper equipment with him???  I am a senior citizen but I am not stupid - the exact part cost under $20.00 at Lowe's.  And oh, by the way, it was installed crooked.  The technician wanted me to sign a blank screen on his iPad.  I asked him why, he said so I can send you an invoice.  I signed it.  Got the invoice e-mailed to me which was blank except for the price I paid.  Guess they don't want you to see or share how you got ripped off.  One last thing.  He had a mask with him which he did not wear while he was in my home.  I thought all workmen entering your home had some protocol to follow for the homeowner's protection.  And I had to listen to a 15 minute talk about their service warranties they are offering before I could pay my tab.  They should just hand you a book and tell you to read it.

The company was here within 12 hours of my call for service. he was on time and very informative. He took his time asking of I had any questions ask he restored the HVAC. He took pictures so I could see what was happening. the tech did not try to upswell me on anything I did not need. He took time to talk to my son on the phone,  so everyone was on the same page for service.

I truly believe I great value for the pricing.

Amazing HVAC company! I've never met anyone as honest and trustworthy. The owner Will is so genuine and kind! He was there to answer all my questions and made sure I was taken care of. Me and my wife were able to save thousands of dollars thanks to Professors of Plumbing and Air. My AC wasn't working properly and I called around to get the best price. I was told I needed an entirely new unit in order to get cool air. Now, when these guys came out they did an AC tune up. Within 2 hours my AC was working in perfect condition! If you're looking for an honest HVAC company these guys are the way to go! This will definitely be my go to company in the future.

This company is horrible. My home warranty company, who is also horrible (first America home warranty) made a service request with them twice , after I told them I didn't want THS.
THS had the nerve to tell me that I, not the warranty company, had to pay $9,000 for a new unit which was low end This was with a discount too!!!
If you want to be conned, choose them. But maybe you would rather keep your money, so go with an honest one company

I had an appointment with Professors of Plumbing in mid June to fix my AC. I had to wait 3 days to get on their schedule in a week of temps over 110 degrees. I called 3 times on the appointment day to verify they were still coming as they missed their window of time and each time was assured they would be coming by late afternoon. At 5:30 they called to say they were not coming and the next available appointment would be in another 3 days!!! No attempt was made on their part to be responsible for their failure to show. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY to honor it's appointments. I was able to find another company with 24 hour service who came to my house at 6:30 p.m. and did not charge for emergency  service.

If I could give zero stars, I would.

Terrible service.  Office staff doesn't know what end is up.  If you manage to get an appt.  Never fear.   The will reschedule you.  Again and again.

If your warranty company wants to send Thomas?  Run don't walk to get another company.

Professors of Plumbing installed a new AC/Heat unit on my mobile - i am very pleased with their work and attention to detail.  Don just came out today to do the maintenance and he was awesome.   So far i have not had a bad experience with any of their reps or servicemen.
I  appreciate their attention to all details on the job and their courtesy to me as a customer.

I cannot say enough on how pleased we are with Professors of Plumbing & Air.
We have called over 4 AC companies out and Professors resolved and fixed our issue. Otis our technician was on time and very honest. He replaced a circuit board and it was working like new again. A few days later we discovered it was not blowing hard enough. I called and he returned the very next day to make the adjustment at no charge. It's service like this I will recommend to all our family and friends!

I would never use a company that spams me with unsolicited text messages one or more times a week. They also know that you will block their numbers because despite my blocks, the texts keep coming.

Unprofessional, and I would expect your services to be at the same level. No thanks.

Very pleased! I reached out to Thomas HS Weds afternoon and they scheduled a technician for the next morning. As a Realtor it is important to have many contractors to get projects done quickly, professionally and at a reasonable cost.
Thomas HS achieved all 3. I'm definitely going to keep them as one of my con

I thought that I had finally found an HVAC company I could trust. Professors of Plumbing and Air saved me about $1000 last year when I got a second opinion from them. I was so impressed with their service and honesty I even signed up for their Dean's List service contract at $67/month which provided twice yearly inspections to my four A/C units and a 15% discount on future services.

I got my first spring inspection a few days ago. When the technician was done and about to leave, I asked him why one of my units was not currently running (I had no prior problems with it). He said it was OK when he checked it earlier. I insisted he recheck it and he told me my compressor was dead and I needed a new one at a cost of $3000! I got a second opinion from another company and it turned out to be a bad capacitor that was replaced for $120! The unit is working just fine now.

Needless to say, I have cancelled my service contract and will no longer do business with Professor's of Plumbing and Air. The moral of the story is to always, always, always get a second opinion when facing a major expense.  The HVAC industry is very untrustworthy.

Do NOT Use! My home warranty company got me set up with Thomas Home services and it's been a nightmare ever since. When they originally were supposed to come out, they had to reschedule the appointment due to a family emergency then the day of the next appointment they said they were running late and instead of being at my condo between 11-2 it was going to be between 2-4. Well, 4:15 came around and I called them 4 times and they told me that my warranty company cancelled the repair and they will need to reschedule, again. I then called my warranty company and they said that my request was still active.

This company has horrible communication and truly is the worst company I have tried to get ahold of. My warranty company is sending me to a new company, thankfully.

This company has no integrity.  The Service Tech Jerome is the biggest con artist around.  The Operations Manager is more than likely his relative and does not take any responsibility for his employees bad behavior. He plays a good game and says what you want to hear but it is all lies.  They came out to do a service repair for my aging AC unit and no matter how many times I told him I just wanted it fixed he was hell bent on having me get a new unit.  I finally agreed and the lies and deceits continued.
Jerome supposedly wrote the paperwork up incorrectly and then tried coming back for more money.  I agreed to pay the difference if they provided me with the documentation.  To date (almost a month later) no documents, invoice etc.  I have finally had to file a fraudulent claim against them because of their threats and unprofessionalism.  Don't ever let Jerome in your home and literally call anyone else EXCEPT them!!!

My ice maker stopped working & the temperatures the fridge & freezer were fluctuating. In mid-February, my husband contacted Thomas Home Services and they sent a technician to check it out. He couldn't find the information he needed to order the part necessary to fix the ice maker & he told me he would go back to the office to look it up and get back to us with a quote. This visit was $89.

A couple weeks went by and we hadn't heard anything. I called 3 times before I was able to talk with someone in the office and they gave me a number of reasons why they hadn't gotten back to me from a new system, to them needing more information about our fridge (despite them not reaching out to us for additional information), and lastly they said our service ticket was closed out and marked complete. While they offered to continue looking for the part, if we send them a photo of the serial number/tag on the back of our fridge, they also said that they probably won't find the part because the fridge is likely too old, even though it is less than 10 years old.

Needless to say our fridge was never fixed and we will have to contact another company & have to pay another service fee. I would not recommend Thomas Home Service to anyone.

I will save you from reading all of this review if you are searching quickly.... do not use this company if you have a homeowners warranty.  They do not want to do any work and will lie and avoid what the service issue really is unless you agree to purchase of a new unit at easily 13-18K in costs.  Read on... my story is pretty typical from other reviews I have read.

It would appear by reading all the reviews, this company does NOT work well with home warranty companies.  I too called in on 6/20/22 the AC not working on a home purchased just three months earlier. Old Republic is the warranty company.  They immediately dispatched Austin to come out on 6/23/22 to fix the unit.  Austin took it apart and stated the coils are frozen and borrowed a hair dryer.  After working on this for a good half hour, he stated he needed to call somebody else in to see what he sees.  Then, another 'salesman' type came in and stated the unit was in bad condition due to negligence of maintenance over years.  Interesting, the inspection report just three months earlier showed the  AC unit in fine condition.  And, isn't frozen coils a freon leak?  He immediately became flustered and stated do not continue with this unit and the warranty company won't replace a unit due to negligence.  He quoted me 13K with 3K in discounts because he's on my side with this.

I was told the next step was to file a report to the warranty company.  This was Thursday.  By Monday, no report had been filed.  I called Thomas again. (Trust me, that is not easy getting through to anybody)  Low and behold, Tuesday morning the report was received and it said......'COILS NEED TO BE CLEANED AND WE DON'T DO THAT.

Seriously?  So, coils need to be cleaned and thats it?  Why is the unit not working? Why did you try to sell me a new one?  Why have I gone nearly a week without service when you were called to fix this?

I have a call into the dispatch manager right now.  Let's see what happens.

EDIT:  Six hour later.  No phone call from any member of this company to discuss this obvious negligent service.  Do not use this company.

EDIT: 6/30/22 another company was contracted by the warranty company as they found the report to be just as ridiculous as I did.  The new company came out, found a small freon leak, fixed it, sealed up the valves and then cleaned up the huge mess Thomas Staff left behind and the AC is functioning fine now.

I had a horrible experience with this company and their customer service. We used them through home warranty. They came out about a week after our initial request. The technician had no clue, had to call someone, and then tried to tell us that there was nothing wrong. My husband had to use his flashlight on his phone to show him that the A/C unit was indeed LEAKING in the closet. The tech tried adding some insulation, but it still wasn't fixed. I called again and was told to wait another week to get someone else out. The second guy didn't know what was wrong with it, tried to unclog the drainage, and then found tools from the first guy. It was still not fixed. We called back and told that we would need a quote for additional repair. ONE MONTH later from the initial service request and it's still NOT fixed! We have been waiting for the supervisor, Mateo, to get back to us for 2 WEEKS! The customer service rep, Carly, was completely nonchalant and told me well, he's busy. We have already called 3x over the last two weeks about the quote. Each time we were told that it wasn't done, and no one called us! This is entirely unacceptable... luckily we were able to switch contractors with our home warranty, but hopefully this review will save someone else the headache of dealing with them.

Where to start? How about in reverse order:

We won a small claims court judgement (Case # CC2022133836. justicecourts.maricopa.g… )against Thomas Home Services aka Professors of Plumbing in March. Despite multiple attempts to collect on the judgment, Mr. Thomas and his company have not paid up.

Long story short, we purchased an HVAC unit from Thomas in 2019 and have had multiple issues with the unit since. Most recently, in July of last year, after making an appointment for a technician to troubleshoot our A/C, the technician failed to diagnose the issue. The tech told us to turn the thermostat on and off repeatedly until the unit kicked on - some solution, huh.

After allegedly fixing it 4 days after the A/C went out, the unit stopped working within 6 hours. Instead of sending another repair technician asap, it took another 8 days for them to actually send someone after unilaterally rescheduling 2 more times.

We found another repairman who immediately diagnosed and fixed the problem. Notably, he also found that the serial number on the HVAC unit had been mysteriously removed. When we tried calling to get the serial number, they gave us a bogus number. Pretty fishy.

I could write another 2,000 words about our experience especially in dealing with customer service but I'll be happy if you read this far. Stay away from this company

Back to court we go. Will update

This contractor was assigned by our home warranty company after our AC unit stopped cooling.  A supervisor Jerome arrived, took a quick look at the age of the unit and immediately put on a hard sell for a new unit outside of our home warranty.  He said a repair wouldn't even last a couple of months and didn't make sense. While I think a new unit was a wise choice, the approach was a hard sell and OUTSIDE of the home warranty, which paid NOTHING.
Part of what Jerome offered is experience and knowledge since he'd been in the business nearly 2 decades.  Interestingly, he didn't attend any of the job and did not even check their work upon completion.   Workers spoke little English or chose to be non-communicative and behaved rudely.  Our home was left in a horrible mess, with debris scattered across rooms and down stairs, even leaving dangerous metal shards all over the floor!  I punctured my foot upon walking in to the install room after workers left, and believe me, they are going to hear about leaving things in this condition!   I now have a bandaged foot and I have no idea if the unit was even installed properly.  Jerome was only interested in picking up the payment and didn't have the common courtesy to review work the guys did.  This speaks to how little this company cares for customers and a very high level of deception.  Stay FAR far away from this company!   I'm hiring another AC firm to come in and inspect installation job and make any necessary corrections.  I feel I got ripped off for an $8K job ... a terribly messed up home, injured foot and not so much as a quality control check at the end of the job!

When Thomas Home Services responded to an A/C problem (same unit as the one for this latest problem) through our homeowner's warranty company last spring, we were satisfied with their service..  This latest call, to say the least, was exceedingly different.  Three different times over about two weeks, service repair people came and were unable to fix the problem.  However, after tightening a panel, the one that came for the last visit told us that the system was probably leaking Freon, and that he could not do the test to check the Freon level because he was only a level 1 repair person.  He said that he would not add any Freon until he requested someone came out who was a level 3 and could administer the correct test.  We discovered that instead of doing so, he reported that the A/C was working and the job he did was complete.  The company refused to do anything further saying their tech had completed the job.  Needless to say the same problem still exists; the A/C still doesn't work properly; and the warranty company says that since the tech said the problem was fixed, another $85 service charge payable to Thomas Home Services is necessary before Thomas will come out.  Thomas Home Services needs to clean up its act, hire better techs, and focus on what real service is rather than trying to dupe homeowners into extra service charges.

I've been waiting for 2 weeks for them to fix my a/c unit which needs a new motor.. I they keep telling me is there waiting for the part. I will never use the guys again snd the only reason I stuck with using them is  because  of my Home warranty company.. They came out right away to replace our water heater. Frank did an amazing job. He arrived on time and stayed late into the evening to be sure that the job was completed the same day. We couldn't ask for better service. He even went the extra mile when he had to remove some built in cabinetry to get the old water heater out, and when he was done with everything he put the cabinetry back and screwed it all back into the wall right where it was before. He was extremely nice and courteous and did a great job. Thank you!!!

This company was the warranty company my landlord had called for the home that I am renting. The technician that came out was great. He was there for most of the day on a holiday Monday, July 4th,  and he seemed very knowledgeable he was very courteous, very nice, and he explained everything that needed to be done to try and fix the leak. He said that somebody was going to come out the next morning and finish repairing it but it wouldn't be him because he didn't have the right machine. I heard him on the phone with his boss getting the schedule for the next day. So the next day I waited all morning and nobody had come yet, so about noon, I called the company and they told me that the technician should not have scheduled it because he did not know their schedule, and said they couldn't get there until Friday. I was a little bit miffed but I said OK fine, this was Tuesday. So Friday late morning I called to confirm that they would be out because nobody has shown up yet and she assured me they would be here in the afternoon between 3-5 pm, it was originally between 1-3 pm. About 4pm, I saw that I had missed a call from the company so I called them back and they tell me that the technician they had scheduled to come out doesn't have a ladder tall enough to get on my roof and that they couldn't send someone out again until the following Wednesday! That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard, what A/C tech doesn't have a ladder that can get on the roof! And why would they schedule someone who wasn't equipped to come out here when they knew exactly what was going on and how tall the roof was because they'd already been out! She then told me they couldn't come out until the following Wednesday, another five days! OMG I was fuming! Maybe because it was a warranty job they didn't care if they did this job or not, I don't know what the deal was. This is just poor customer service and I hope I never have to deal with this company again.

My home warranty (First American) ) sent out Thomas Home Service.   The repairman was nice and on time and said my unit was low on R22 and I probably had a leak.   He said he was not authorized to fix and he had to request a senior technician come out the next week.  He did not put in any R22.   It was not cooling and iced over when he left.   I thought they scheduled me for follow up for 4 days later and when that day came.... the senior tech never showed.  When I called ...they said the follow up appointment was for Me two week from then. I said not waiting two weeks additional for another repair Tech after their guy would not fix first time out.   My home warranty would not refund my $85 service either and I had to go outside of home warranty coverage to get my AC cooling again.
I do not recommend either First American Hone Warranty nor this AC repair company THOMAS

Their technician Chris came out to a property to run a standard semi-annual check and I must say he was extremely thorough,  looked up all the manufacture specifications, cleaned the exterior coils, added a pound of freon and carefully inspected the interior blower/heat exchange.  Impressed as to his attention to detail on that rental property asked that they come out and look at my primary residence.

If you have a choice, pick any other company than these guys. I have no choice because it is going through a home warranty company. We have had them out 3 times in the last month and the A/C is still not fixed. Always have to call them even when they say they will call me back. Everytime we are told it is at least a week (if not longer) for someone to come back out. I just want them to finish the job. Absolutely no follow up. Techs will tell you they will get with the office to schedule a return appointment and then we come to find out nothing is scheduled. I believe that they know we can't go anywhere else, so there is no sense of urgency.

Priced a tankless water heater. They gave us a quote right away but when we did
Our due diligence and asked which model it took them over two weeks. By this time we went with another company. Pls read reviews on this company. Very unresponsive.

Horrible customer service. ZERO STARS! I used Thomas Home Services because they were selected by my Home Warranty. I needed to replace my AC unit, but the new unit didn't work upon install. My brand new AC unit already has a replacement part.
They also said I needed an additional return which wasn't even installed aligned with anything in my house. The crew that did that work put a bunch of holes in my ceiling in addition to the large hole in my garage ceiling that they said their drywall guy would come fix.... THIS WAS TWO MONTHS AGO.
Still waiting.

Frank was great Plumber got the Job done, but The price was really high for work that was completed and on top of what it cost for a simple install the call out charge was on top of it.

My A/C unit was no longer blowing cold air and an excessive heat warning was announced. Miguel and Nathan were assigned to fix my A/C and were friendly and professional. They had the root cause diagnosed within an hour and had replaced the problem part soon after. They provided useful tips for future reference and my A/C was blowing cold within a few hours. I highly recommend.

Our underhung sink was sagging on one side, allowing water to leak onto the cabinetry and causing the drain to come uncounted, flooding the cabinet. THS Sent a plumber who quickly diagnosed the underlying problems and suggested reasonable fixes. He actually finished one day earlier than his original estimate.

My central A/C went out.   I have a home warranty.  They were contacted on an emergency basis.  I am 65 and have heart problems and take medication. It is at least 115 in my home.  Uninhabitable. They came, and the tech was here for 2 hours and could not figure it out, so they schedule a Level 2 tech.  Again, Phoenix in July, elderly, no a/c, and nowhere to go but my car for a/c.  I called and was upset as to why they are doing this and why a tech with knowledge at all levels would not have come, and how I am the one who suffers, so she scheduled it for today at 2-4.  Then today comes, and she tells me that their techs called out, so it will be Monday.  Seven days in Phoenix in July no air.  The warranty company even called and asked them to help, and they refused.  This is the most disgusting reprehensible company.  I filed a complaint with the Arizona Attorney General and the Arizona Housing Department.  This is abuse of the elderly and abuse in general.  These are horrible, unprofessional people.  I am just shocked at how I was treated.  Shame on them.

These guys are great.  Around 5 pm I noticed that my water softener was leaking at the bypass valve.  I figured that my chances of finding somebody who could stop by to fix the leak were pretty low but I called anyway.  Eric stopped by and not only stopped the leak but didn't charge me if I hired him to replace my softener the next day.  I had previously purchased the softener and was looking for somebody to install it.  Eric showed up the next day right on time and replaced the unit.  He even hauled my old unit away and cleaned up the entire area and didn't add any extra charges.  Will use these guys again.

My relationship with this company goes back to 2018 when they used to go by the name of, Professors of plumbing and air conditioning. They came out to service my a/c system. They happened to work with the Home Warranty company I had at the time so I thought it would be a good idea to purchase a maintenance agreement for 3 years on 3 properties. The first maintenance check they did, I was told that there was a freon leak on one of the units and that both capacitors on another unit needed to be replaced. All of which was not true. A few months later I had them replace an a/c unit on one of my properties. Over the next 2 years the company had to send out technicians to fix installation issues. Then recently the a/c unit stopped cooling, so I called them again. Keep in mind that it is July in Arizona, and the temperature is in the 100's. They did not have somebody available to come out on a Sunday night. The tech came out on Monday and diagnosed that the circuit board on a 3yr old unit is bad. The board was ordered and was available for pickup on Tuesday, but they didn't have anyone available to pick it up. So on the 4th day it is picked up and the tech spends hours on the roof installing the part and then leaves when he was done without verifying if the cooling was functioning. And of course it wasn't. I had to call an independent a/c tech to come out on the 5th day and he immediately determined that it was a bad compressor capacitor. The same component they always try to upsell customers on. I had to pay the independent contractor $320 (which included a new thermostat). I have attempted to get reimbursed from Thomas Home Services and they have ignored me. Not only were my tenants inconvenienced for 5 days due to an incompetent service tech, I also compensated my tenants for hotel expenses.
I strongly recommend avoiding this company.

Their attention to customer service was above and beyond. When our cooktop went out they scheduled first avail, then called and moved it up due to a cancellation. The provider was courteous and knowledgeable and fixed it for just $89 trip fee as no parts were needed.
I'll definitely use Thomas Home Services again-love supporting local businesses!

I was not able to get hot water from my kitchen faucet in the home I just bought.  It took the plumber a long time to diagnose. He said there was a kink in one of the lines that he fixed, but that wasn't causing the problem.  Turns out, once he left the faucet running in the cold position for a very long time, the water eventually got hot.  The hot and cold were reversed!  But, he said the job ran so long that I would need to pay more to get it fixed.  I thought that was unreasonable (scammy?).  I said no.  So, basically, I paid $119.70 just for the diagnosis!  A year later I was still bothered by this transaction so I called the company.  That employee no longer worked there.  They felt I was unreasonable for taking so long to contact them.  True.  I wish I had grown a backbone sooner.  They said if I removed my negative reviews, they would send someone out.  I did.  I called and told them.  They never followed through.  They never called me or sent someone out to take care of this.  If I had a business and knew that a customer felt they had been taken advantage of, I would rectify it.  Apparently, they don't feel the same.  I took too long to post this negative review, too.  Like another negative reviewer on here, I, too, am a retired widow of a police officer.  Odd coincidence...

professors of plumbing and air came out and did a tune up on my unit. the gentle man that came out was very nice clean and professional. they use a clear cut price guide and the technician even showed me there price book and didn't try to gauge me on service cost. i was 100% satisfied with the over all service i received to the staff in the office to the technician in my home. it is a small company but they took better care of me then the bigger companies out there that just take advantage of misfortunes to turn a profits. i would highly recommend them i read some bad reviews of theirs from the past and asked my technician about it when he arrived. he explained that they had a few bad seeds out there giving the company a bad name so they cleaned house and revamped their business model i'm super pleased i chose to give them a chance because i had two other well known companies out for issues with my hvac causing my electric bill to sky rocket. they both tried to push a new unit at outrageous prices at me. i called professors of plumbing because i just couldn't afford a new unit. they gave me a full tune up on the hvac unit and my electric bill dropped by 45 bucks. the tune up only cost me 29.00. they told me if i wasn't satisfied when i booked the appointment  i didn't have to pay them. what other company would do that. they said also if and when then time comes when i need to get a new unit to keep them in mind that they offer financing. they werent pushy at all.  i see they have had a crappy past on the reviews but they have really proven themselves.to me i highly recommend them if you dont want to get slammed with a BIG TICKET. for a easy fix.

Very bad experience . Have raised the issue with home warranty on 06/04 and they came only on 06/09 and they send the report to my warranty company only on 06/14 after multiple follow up. meanwhile he was trying to sell a new AC unit for me with credit options. I'm still waiting to fix this issue to get resolved . They are not even picking  call on the given number as well.

The worse experience with any contractor Ever! They are unreliable, and untrustworthy. Our home insurance company arranged for Professors of Plumbing DBA as Thomas Home Services to come and check our AC. A technician came (after postponing the first appointment) and said a supervisor was going to come to see how to fix the equipment.  After other 3 cancelled/no show appointments, we are still with a broken ac in the middle of summer!
the only thing this professors' can teach is how to fail and lie cause they do that very well

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with.  My AC Unit went down.  They went out there twice one day for 4 hour and a second day for 5 hours and they were unable to diagnose the issue.  They scheduled a third visit and then cancelled the day of stating they had to reschedule.  So I have been without AC for 7 days and had to call another company to handle it because they were unable to diagnose the issue after multiple visits.  They are awful...and judging by the other reviews I see on here,...I can see why.  They are completely incompetent.

We have nothing but good things to say about Dennis. He solved our problem quickly and professionally, and he made sure that we were totally satisfied. He also went above and beyond to avoid having to cut another hole in the wall to replace the pump on our jetted spa tub. That meant reaching into small, awkward places while twisting at odd angles, and probably a backache later tonight! We really appreciated the extra effort, and would happily welcome him back to do other work.

EDIT: I was contacted the morning after I posted the reviews, and was paid for the ruined bassinet.

Do not waste your time with this unethical unprofessional scam of a business. Not only did they do additional damage in my attic but they ruined my baby's bassinet and are refusing to pay for it. I have them on video admitting to causing additional damage to my home. They left my attic in shambles. If your home warranty company assigns them to you RUN!!! Everyone in that office must be trained to lie to their customers. It's a shame that they feel it's adequate to conduct them themselves in this manner. It took over TWO weeks for them to fix the gigantic hole their tech made in my ceiling and it was only completed then  because I went to the ROC board. Roy the manager is condescending and misogynistic. RUN RUN RUN AWAY.

Has got to be one of the worst experiences I've ever had with any company.  I filed a claim with my warranty company on 4/5/22.  Today is 6/6/22, and my AC issue is still not resolved.  I'm tired of calling this company to be told someone will call you back from dispatch what do you think happens?  No call.  Over 2 months of dealing with these folks and my AC is still not fixed.  I tell them that I have small children sweating at night because the fix they did is not working.  Does anyone there care?  They are showing me they do not.  Terrible experience and it continues.
6/7/22 - the terribleness continues.  I called yesterday and dispatch will call you, call never came.  I finally get a hold of someone and they have the nerve to tel me that they did me a favor by sending two techs out to try to fix the unit almost 2 weeks ago.  I told them they could have sent the entire company and it wouldn't have mattered if my AC is still not working.  Which it still is not working.

If you had a good or great experience with this company consider yourself lucky.

Our A/C unit stopped cooling on April 25th, and was not fixed unit May 17th by another a/c company. We called our home warranty company and they gave us this company to use. So our a/c went out on a Thursday and we didn't hear from them until Monday, only after I put in a service request via their website. They made an appointment for Friday 5/3, between 3-5 pm but NO CALLED NO SHOWED and only called us to reschedule after we contacted our home warranty company because surprise, they are also horrible at answering their phones.

So a new appointment was made for 5/6, again between 3-5. This time they showed up around 6 pm. Apparently, they do not realize that the average person works between 8-5, therefore I had to take off work for every appointment made. So we get a technician out to our house and he states our compressor is shot and there is no way home warranty will pay to get us a new unit and we should not even bother to go through them. Now he tries selling us a unit, stating they have finance plans and he can even take measurements today. His main goal was to sell a unit.
My husband and I decided that we are going through the home warranty and needed him to put his report in so we could get the ball rolling on fixing/replacing the unit. They put the report finally in about a week later after much harassing both from us and the home warranty company, suggesting a new unit but nothing can be done until a tech comes back to the house and takes the proper measurements for a new unit.

Well, that meant another appointment...which by now I am pretty sure you know how this will go. Another appointment was made for 5/16 to have them come out and take measurements for a new system, again between 3-5. Guess what! NO CALL NO SHOW, how are these people still in business? They call the next day to reschedule the appointment they missed. That was it for us, we called our home warranty company back to get a new company out.

The next day we get a new a/c company, he was at our home for a total of 15 minutes, when he left our a/c unit was working. What miracle did he do you ask, he simply replaced the capacitor as a temporary bandage type fix. Is this the ideal fix, no since guarantees how long the capacitor will work for, but trying to sell us a new unit for thousands of dollars rather than fixing the easy less expensive part is bad business.

This company is a scam.  They work directly with a restoration company that is practically on call for them.  The job was to fix a leaking toilet upstairs.  It was recommended that we look for water damage.  I told the plumber in advance that I just needed a quick fix for now as I am not moving anytime soon.  There was a miscommunication when the plumber asked us if he wanted us to call the restoration company to check it out another time, we said ok thinking this would happen in a few weeks not an hour.  He cut a hole in my ceiling to look for water damage.  There was a few small spots, nothing needing to be addressed right away.  Long story short here I well overpaid for a rubber ring that could have been purchased for $12 and was left with a hole in my ceiling that I had to fix.  The job was $410 and I still have my old toilet.  I do not recommend this company at all!!!

Emily is superb with her communications on phone calls with customers.  Technician Matt is personable and competent.  And we are now back to getting ice from our Kenmore fridge!  (We learned our lesson to turn off the ice maker when away for an extended length of time.)
We did not shop around for value comparisons with other companies, so we can't comment on price.  The positive reviews for Thomas Home Services sold us, and we were not disappointed.

The HVAC Tech's were great, worked very hard through 109 degrees, not counting what it was in the attic.  But they missed the drain line and I ended up with a drain line leak in my bathroom over night.  They did come back and make the fix 2 days later but only after I had rounds with Will the owner, who was never on the job, nor would come take a look at the issue. Instead he tried to blame me for the issue and tried to charge me additional money to come back and fix his screw up. He even threatened to null and void my warranty. A very strong arm tactic.  And like I told him, $5 in PVC and a few minutes would do what should have been done right the first time.  Guess what ? I was right. a little PVC, glue and 30 minutes it was fixed. ( I hope)  For an owner of a company, that I pre-paid $5000 too and  allegedly grew up in this business holding a flashlight apparently was blinded by that light and missed the part of doing the right thing, common decency  and fixing your work that isnt right.  For him to take such a quantum leap and blame a home owner
( me) , that never had any such leak  problem in 20 plus years with the original AC unit, speaks volumes as to how he may treat other  customers and probably his employees too.  A simple look with his own eyes would have saved lots of hassle, but he chose to hide behind the cell phone and make unfounded judgement calls, trying to get back in my wallet.  He has been notified he not allowed on my property.  His tech's are always welcome.

AC went out in September. Called our Home Warranty and they sent out Jerome Montgomery of Thomas Home Services, who met with my wife (I was working). He confirmed the unit needed a new compressor, but that the unit was also 25 years old and was on its last legs. He convinced us to replace the entire unit (and not thru our home warranty service). He told my wife he'd qualify us for a new credit card to pay for the unit at zero % interest until paid off. I presumed there was a mistake and that perhaps the credit card would only be zero % for the first year. When the credit card bill came, it was at 9.99% until paid off. When I called Jerome, he made excuses, telling me he could change it to zero %, but that would require a minimum monthly payment of $400 every month. I kept the 9.99% rate.
The AC ran quiet and great for two months. However, this weekend, we went to turn on the heat and it only blew cold air. Called Thomas Home services and they sent out a tech without a ladder (we have a two-story house with unit on roof). Another tech came back 5 hours later and confirmed we need a new thermostat. Although Thomas Home Services is a vendor on our warranty plan, and we could get it done through our plan for a $75 service call, Thomas Home Services wanted to charge us $225 + tax (even though the tech tried to get them to comp us because of all the aggravation they put us through).
So overall, not happy with them, and especially not happy with Jerome Montgomery. He's a professional Con Man posing as a saleman. He gave my wife the bait & switch to sell her a new unit outside of our home warranty plan and mislead her about the interest on the credit card he qualified us for to pay for it.

Emily, you know what would have made me smile today? If you hadn't canceled my scheduled HVAC maintenance two business days in a row.

I have First American Home Warranty and they assigned this contractor to come fix my AC. Scheduled our first appointment on Monday 03/28 and a Tech 1 came out and said that he was able to diagnose an issue but a Tech 2 would have to be scheduled to make the repairs. He told me that someone from the company would contact me to schedule the Tech 2. I didn't hear back from anyone so I CALLED THEM the next day and they told me that the earliest they could schedule my next appointment was Friday 04/01 in the afternoon. Fast forward to Friday. I haven't heard anything from this company and the estimated time window they gave me is over. I called and spoke to rude and unsympathetic Emily who said that they could not get to me because they're running behind and they're closed on weekends. I tell her that I need that person to come out ASAP because it's 90 degrees in my house and she really didn't care. She said she will schedule someone to come today Monday 04/04. I told her that I needed an HVAC tech on Friday as scheduled because not only is it hot, but I'm going to start a new Job on Monday and no one would be home. After several moments of us going back and forth it was clear to me that Emily and this company lack integrity and basic human decency. I had no choice but to schedule for Monday and ask a friend to be here for to let the AC man in. When I went on my first break, I saw that I had missed a call from them so I returned the call on my break and Surprise surprise, Emily. She said she canceled my appointment again and that the earliest she could reschedule  is Friday 04/08/22.
I would never recommend this company to anyone and if your homeowners warranty assigns you here, I would suggest that you have them reassign you ASAP. To Emily's boss, She needs training on her customer service skills. I would also suggest you hire more HVAC techs and stop overbooking your schedule because you have created a company that has provided me some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced in my life.

Beware! Stay AWAY! Bad Customer Service!

Update:
The day after I posted this review they sent a Tech 2 out on Tuesday 04/05/2022 to complete the job that the tech 1 diagnosed. However when the tech 2 left the house he said that the AC was still not working because he broke our motor and that we would have to call back to reschedule and order the part.

Wednesday 04/06/2022 I called the company to schedule and Emily said that she would call me back to schedule when they were able to locate the part. She said that she would give me a call back in the afternoon.

Thursday 04/07/2022 since no one called me back to schedule I called them back to find out what was going on. Emily Refused to let me Talk to a supervisor or higher up and I hope that those calls were recorded. Mind you, at this point it has already been 3 weeks in my 90 degree house without AC. After I got off the phone with Emily. I got a message from my homeowner's warranty stating that my case has been reassigned to a new provider.

So I contacted my warranty to see about a cash out option because now I have to start this process over with a new company and my Home Warranty said that we cant do a cash out option until we get a diagnoses because Thomas Home NEVER updated a diagnostic report.

I ended up just hiring someone and paying them out of pocket to come fix the issue. The man I hired after this Awful company said that my motor was not even broken and that it was a different part. He also said that they left my wires any which way and that he would rewire my AC unit included in the cost because it was hard to work in and may cause problems later.

NEVER NEVER USE THIS COMPANY.

Utilizing Thomas Home Services has resulted in the most negative experience we have ever endured with an AC installation. The service tech, Jerome was pleasant when selling us the system, but wasn't forthcoming and misled us. He told us if we financed through their financing we wouldn't have a payment until December (2 months after the system was installed) and the system was just installed on 09/25/2020. He told us he would arrive in the morning with the techs to get the project started and then he would return at the end of the install to ensure everything was completed. The first tech arrived at 8:30am and then 2 more techs arrived within the hour. The first outdoor units that were delivered were the wrong size. Then they were supposed to replace the pads that they sat on, we had to point that out, so they did correct that. Then we find out around 2:30pm in the afternoon when Jerome finally shows up that he actually ordered the completely wrong system ( He ordered electric when we have a gas system) which he apologized for but never communicated or contacted us throughout the day until he showed up. He told us he would be helping the techs to get it done. I asked him to complete the SRP paperwork for our refund, he started it, received a call, said he needed to leave but would return and we never heard from him again. I guess I should have expected this especially how he hinted at how the owner's son who was one of the techs on our installation doesn't have the same work ethic as the owner. We contacted the office and spoke with the office manager, Emily who informed us that the individual responsible for completing the paper work for SRP would return on Thursday, complete the paper work and we would have it no later than Friday, 10/02/2020. Here we are, Friday and I check the mail and we have a bill to pay our first payment due on 10/18/2020, not 2 months later. So, I contact the company, Emily is out of the office and the receptionist talks with her supervisor who is supposed to return my call. I am still waiting for that return call. On a side note, the techs that did the installation were at our house from 8:30am - 10:00pm and they were very respectful and did a good job! The rest of the experience has been extremely negative and we will never recommend this company to anyone, be aware as you will be lied to and deceived! This company hasn't resolved any of our issues to date.

Do not use P of P!  We were referred to them through our home warranty company to come out and fix our AC unit in the middle of June.  We had to wait 4 days before they could come out and they told us they would be out on a Monday between 11 am and 1 pm.  At 1:20 pm no one had showed up or called.  When we called them, they informed us that their tech had called in and they would have to reschedule our appointment for Friday at the earliest!  They did nothing to try and accommodate our situation and told us there was nothing else they could do.  We had to end up calling our home warranty company and rescheduling with a different service.  We would have been more understanding if someone had at least called us to tell us what was going on but we heard nothing from them until we called after waiting around all morning.  Even worse, we scheduled time off work to accommodate the appointment.  They were completely unprofessional and disappointing.  Do not waste your time with them!!!!

I gave a 1 because the plumber was amazing and professional. The office staff on the other hand is completely inept. I booked my appt date for my day off a week ago. I was told I had to pay half of the bill to book it which guarantee my date and time.  Apparently not!  On the morning of my appt, I received a text confirming my appt and an email. Then at the time the plumber was scheduled Mandy at the office called to tell me the plumber was called to an emergency as another client had a leak. I've had one for over a week waiting for my appt. Considering I booked an APPOINTMENT, my leak should be the priority. They knew for over a week when my appt was. If they only have 1 plumber, it would only make sense to tell the person who didn't have an appt that there wasn't anyone available until my items were completed. RIDICULOUS!! Don't waste your time. Their customers are not the priority and appts mean nothing with this company.

I brought the wrong parts. Promised to come back next morning.
Next morning, no show, no notification call, nada. Called them and OOOOOOOHHHHHH NNNNOOOOO, WWWWWEEEE CCCCCAAANNNTTT GGGGEEETTT THAT BLOWER MOTOR. I called Siglers and the Carrier motor was still available. SO SICK OF BEING LIED TO.
Now, Emily (butter wouldn't melt in her mouth) says OOOOOOHHHHH, the earliest we can come again is next Tuesday.

These folks are so unprofessional it makes me want to puke. They clearly wanted to buy a cheap-ass motor to repair our system but would charge the home warranty company full price for the OEM unit. In my books this is called FRAUD !!!! Add that to bad customer service and this is what you get with this shitshow.

This is a dishonest, shady company. I would definitely NEVER hire them!  Thomas Home Services was dispatched to my home via my home warranty to repair my downstairs a/c unit that stopped cooling. This has been the absolute worst experience, I'm surprised they are even in business.  First, during the initial call they scheduled me for 4 days out , but sent a confirmation for 5 days out. (I'm in AZ it's well above 100 degrees) No biggie, I can wait another day. Then on the day of service they call me to push me out another day. At this point I feel like I'm at their mercy, so agree. When the tech came out, he was unprofessional, seemed like he was on something. He did not tell me what causing the unit not to cool and immediately tried to sell me a new unit instead of determining what the issue was. Even after speaking to his manager, my only option was to buy a new unit. I declined and asked them submit the report to my home warranty, then I'll decide next steps. After a week there has been no report submitted and they wouldn't even answer calls from the warranty provider.

A different company was assigned and it was a day and night experience. I was scheduled within 1 day and the a/c unit was repaired. A new motor was needed and installed. All covered under my warranty.

Thomas Home Air Conditioning was the company my Home Warranty sent out.  The tech was a very nice young man and he had his sales guy come out. I ended up just replacing my unit for $9500. I'm still not sure if that a good price or not but it's irrelevant. The problem has been after the install. I still had condensation leaks and my unit is so loud even the tech agreed.  They keep sending out a tech and stating that a supervisor needs to come out.  2 tech visits and 4 phone calls later with promises of a supervisor and nothing.
Typical company gets their money and are out.  I have now hired someone else to address the excessive noise.
After the tech and sales call This has been unreliable and poor follow up.

Good service, but pricey, $350 to remove a night light stuck in toilet by my toddler, should have shopped around.......
