HISTORY

Established in 2003.
After working for a skylight manufacturer traveling all over the country teaching contractors how to install skylights I decided to embarked on a new venture of starting a skylight installation business. I started with Natural Light tubular skylight installations, added solar attic fan installations, and then took on the VELUX line of skylights. VELUX offered numerous skylight oriented installation courses which then allowed me to expand my services to include regular skylight installation and plastic dome replacement services. We have participated in most home shows throughout the valley over the past five years and we have been recognized by both skylight manufacturers that we represent as top certified installers. We were ranked number one in the nation by VELUX, the world's largest skylight manufacturer.

ABOUT BUSINESS OWNER

After retiring from the Navy as a Commander, I started a chimney sweep company in Fairfax Virgina and then moved it to Raleigh, NC. I also expanded into distribution of chimney supplies serving the southeast US. It was then that I got introduced to the skylight industry. 15 years later we now are a family business where my son Kris, daughter Kelsea and my significant other, Cathy manage the best skylight installation company in Phoenix.

This is a nice little business, and Eric (the installer) put in two solar tubes, on the day, and at the time that Kris said he'd be there.

If I could make a suggestion, it would be that the installer work with the customer a little bit more, and not let it be known that it's his only job of the day, and rush.
Ask us if we like the the prismatic, vs. the opaque. Is the filtering ok, or would you like more (or less) filters? Have everything there, with him, so things can be tried out. That would have saved us two trips into their office, at 31st Ave/Thomas, to get it right. They did provide us everything for free, but it still takes time to drive...

Hate to leave a bad review but 0 stars is what this company's response deserves.
Called the skylight guy on Monday based on good recommendation on Velux's website.
There was a guy Chris who arranged a meeting for a project evaluation for Friday.
No one called, no one showed up, no one seem to care for a business which I am going to take somewhere else now.

The good reviews for this business are probably purchased.
Consider yourself warned!

Hands-down an amazing experience with this company. They were on time for both the quote and for installation. The best part is that they did not leave a mess. The installer put down large tarps and I couldn't believe there was hardly any dust. Everything was cleaned up so nicely and our new skylights look amazing. We used to have the old bubble ones from Home Depot but they were really hot. With these new skylights we can't feel any heat and I know our electric bill will be lower. The upstairs is no longer hot in the afternoon. I would highly recommend this company

I called them to get a quote on a tubular skylight. There was no upselling and the quote and final bill came out exactly as discussed on the phone.

The installer Eric came out on time and finished the job quicker than expected. He was friendly and courteous. There was no mess left behind either.

I'm not sure if they were the best price in town, but I'm willing to pay for good service. After reading the reviews here on Yelp I called them right away. Once again the Yelp community was spot on.

I would totally recommend them.

Just got some new skylights installed after my old ones started to leak in the kitchen.

I had Kryz as my technician, he came out to do the bid about a month ago and was right on time, super friendly and took the time to answer questions I had.

Today was the install and Kryz again was right on time with a smile, did the work quickly and neatly, then took pictures of my new skylights so I could see the quality.

I highly recommend Kryz and The Skylight Guys!

We needed more ambient light in a couple of hallways and after contacting several companies that dealt with skylight installation we chose The Skylight Guys. They were able to provide us with a quote over the phone, they had the most competitive prices of anyone and have great reviews on the web which gave me confidence enough to place our business with them.

The Skylight Guys were able to schedule and install our two skylights with in 4 days of placing the order. They were on time, and efficient and did a great job cleaning up the normal mess with an installation of this type. I would recommend them and their installer Eric if you are interested in adding skylights to your home!

We had the skylight guy replace 2 of our skylights in our living room with their Velux skylights and I'm just so freaking happy! The solar blinds are literally life changing! Everyone that has come over has been so impressed with the skylights and blinds. It was one of the best investments we have done so far for our house. The installer came early in the morning and was done by lunch time. I highly recommend them and their products!

We were absolutely thrilled with the service and the product. The skylight tech Chris, was fantastic and very fast, considering he installed a skylight and a tubular skylight. The extra light that our bathroom has is unbelievable. There was never a window and we keep thinking we have a light on in the bathroom now.
Same goes for the bedroom skylight. It provided much needed light and the appearance is great! We could not be happier. If you want excellent service, peace of mind, this company is the way to go. Thank you!

My skylight was recently broken due to an errant golf ball. I reached out for referrals, but they all proved successful. Many didn't do the work on a skylight any longer or would have taken 5 to 10 days to install once the measurement was made.

I looked on my own and came across the Skylight Guy. I looked at the website and then called to see what they could do. I talked with Ken and provided me details and was very familiar with my \neighborhood He said he could have the skylight repaired within days and possibly the same day as a tech was already in the area. Ken called me back shortly after my initial conversation and advised me the tech could do the work today. That was awesome!

Ken was very knowledgeable and professional.

I was not at home to oversee the repair. My wife said the tech was friendly and did the work quickly. The skylight looks great and is a great improvement over the model that likely came with the house that looks like a bubble.

I will definitely work with Skylight again to replace my other skylight in the bathroom.

I will also be quick to refer any friends to use Skylight guy if a need arise.

This is one of the best companies/contractor calls I have ever had! I called them to see if I could get 2 skylights put in my little house. They quoted me a flat $600 each (included installation) over the phone and made an appointment to install them right then!!! No need to come and look at the job first!
On the appointed day Eric showed up right on time and got to work! He helped me figure out exactly where they should go & a couple of hours later I had 2 new beautiful bright skylights! He cleaned up everything & the sky tubes are awesome! I love their tee-shirts too: No more DARK rooms! This was the most pleasant experience! Thank you Skylight Guys!!!

Last monsoon my skylight started leaking. I called The Skylight Guy and received an estimate and new skylight in the same week. The price was very reasonable and the installation was quick. I can tell the quality of my new skylight is way better and more energy efficient than the old bubble plastic skylight...it's not hot in my kitchen and I can't hear the outside noise like I could with the old one.

Found The Skylight Guy online, searching for another of the same skylight I bought about four years ago. Their price was the best for sure; less than I paid for the first one from an Ebay seller. Shipped it quick. Velux sent me the correct skylight, but the wrong flashing kit. The Skylight Guy got right on it and I'll have the right one delivered in just three days! Also, got a return label to send back the wrong one! Excellent service from The Skylight Guy!

Got many quotes. Kryz and Kris were very competitive and do great work. I used them once before on our house in Scottsdale. This was a bigger more technical job. Installing through tile on a pitch, through trusses etc., for one major light. Also renovating a current sky light and installing 3 x 10 tubes. Couldn't be happier and Kryz is great to be around, kids loved him. He worked fast and is a master of his craft. We had solar powered motors put in for the two lights and will get some tax credit, Kris helped explain that to us too. 6 stars, wish I had more work for them to do! LOL

From beginning to end, a professional operation! Ken spent the time talking to me about my options, so I know I made the right decision on product choice. Kryz is a craftsman who not only did an excellent job, but clearly has a great deal of pride in work that has his name on it. He had to move an A/C vent and electrical in the ceiling, and the final result looks like it had been part of the original construction, not a retrofit! I love the skylight and would highly recommend The Skylight Guy!
