Established in 1992.
The Grout Doctor was established to meet the market demands for grout repair. At the time we became a franchised organization, in 1992, there was no other company that offered grout restoration services. We are the first to provide these services, we have set the industry standards and will always be the leaders as our franchises are built on quality work, professionalism, and complete customer satisfaction!

ABOUT BUSINESS OWNER

Remus is the owner of the Grout Doctor, a franchise which opened its doors in Phoenx in '94,
He's a stone and grout restoration expert living and working in the greater Phoenix area.

Remus grew up in Europe where he also trained in natural stone carving including an apprenticeship in medieval structure restauration in South Germany. After completing he became a full-time apprentice in a stone shop outside of Sigmaringen Germany before coming to USA to earn his stone, tile and grout restoration license.
After managing the installation of thousands of square feet of floors in greater Phoenix area he decided to go back to the roots and became a Grout Doctor franchise owner.

Quick and easy process from estimate to scheduling to service call. Shower grout repair looks like brand new. All granite countertops were cleaned and polished to a high shine. Professional service from start to finish!

We could not have received a more professional and outstanding job from this company. We opted for the grout cleaning and paint. The results are outstanding. It appears to be a completely new tile job at a fraction of the cost. The two gentlemen who did the job could not have been more accommodating and well trained. Their expertise is commendable. Could not be happier with the result.

Horrible experience. Paid almost $700 to have 2 showers cleaned/sealed, couple of cracks repaired and caulking around kitchen sink redone.

After the "cleaning and sealing" was completed it looked like nothing had been done. Pictures posted in review are after the work was completed. The grout that was repaired was also a totally different color. As for the kitchen sink.... they placed gray grout over top of old clear caulking and lime scale build up.

Called back and talked to the person who came out and gave us a quote the first time and shared pictures and concerns. He came out the next day and looked at it and agreed it didn't look good. After he tried to re-clean the shower he said sometimes things just don't come clean and the grout color doesn't match because the other grout wouldn't come clean also that they cannot guarantee cleaning services..... none of which was explained during the quote or when we wrote a $700 check. He then said he would talk to the owner and see what else they could do for us.....

Called back the next day to tell us nothing could be done but color stain the grout lines in one shower for another $300......

Not sure what we paid $700 for or why we would pay another $300 for when neither shower looked like it was cleaned at all and the small amount of "repairs" done were sloppy and didn't even match. Wouldn't mind paying $700 for work if it was done correctly.

Would never recommend grout doctor to anyone ever again.

Tony came out quickly, gave us an estimate, and educated us on how to properly care for our tile/grout. I was trying to decide between cleaning and sealing or recoloring the grout, so he did a quick clean of an extra dirty area to help me evaluate my options. I decided to clean and seal as it cleaned up really nicely, and I appreciated that he helped me select a more affordable option since I like the existing grout color (though it's hard to keep clean). Our service provider, Alex, arrived on time, worked quickly but thoroughly, and was polite and friendly. Out floors now look 10000x better. I wish I had remembered to take a before picture, but our "oyster" colored grout was dark brown in many areas from accumulated dust, first, etc. We live in a rural area with more dust than average and 4 dogs. Despite the "hard living" our floors get, the grout is back to its original state! It looks fantastic, would absolutely recommend and will be using their services again in the future for sure.

We just had The Grout Doctor Scottsdale out to clean our travertine flooring and do some repairs on both the floor and our tiled master shower and guest bath. We are so happy with the results! The shower looks amazing and the grout matched perfectly, the flooring looks like new. Tony and his crew (Alex) were right on time, matched their estimate and did a fantastic job! Highly recommended

I had an amazing experience with the Grout Doctors from start to finish. The grout throughout our home had seen better days - it was stained and cracked in some areas and even after a deep cleaning didn't look clean or even. But, I love our floor tile so much I decided to give grout staining a try. I did not to be so blown away at how good it turned out.

The crew was amazing, friendly and super hard working. It's rare to find top notch service and results these days but these guys delivered on all fronts.

Caulking work in shower was sloppy. I had to call them out to complete areas missed and fix areas where caulking had collapsed. I realized later that the workman had just caulked over the old caulk in some areas rather than removing the old material first.
I paid a high price for fixing a crack in the cement in the cabana. Helmut told me the high price was because of the special material they would use. Within a month the repair was cracking. I called Helmut to ask if they would come fix the job -- no response.

Remus, the owner, came to re-caulk our shower, which I really appreciated. He removed the caulk from the previous job and re-caulked. So far it looks good.

REVIEW: changed from 2 to 3 stars. Robert came back and did the touch up needed on the job they performed. Although I appreciate they touching up their work, it was such a nightmare to schedule with multiple cancellations. Overall, I still feel that I was overcharged and that they wasted a lot of my time. My lesson here is get a subscription to Angies List for these types of services - the reviews add an additional layer for a better evaluation of the provider.

Tony did an estimate to clean stone floors and repair my grouts, however, he inserted a fine print saying BASES NOT INCLUDED so when the crew came to do the job, guess what: they did the minimum grout repair claiming not included . At the end of the day, they wanted another 750 to do the original Job they were hired for, for which I paid 1650. Anyway, they did a great cleaning job and I liked the minimum grout repair I was able to convince they to do. Needless to say I feel deceived giving Tony should have AT A MINIMUM explained to me what grout repair I needed and he was quoting less than I what I needed.

Robert exceeded expectations. See before and after. Now, I had a plumbing leak to fix and had to let things dry out and replace tile. My contractor, Tyson Fletcher,did a great job there. Grout Doctor treated and scrubbed all bad areas, regrouted floor with sanded epoxy grout (so no sealer needed), color sealed good wall grout, recaulked perimeter and voila! Now I've got the proper cleaning instructions for the housekeepers and this should last. I feel confident it will. Small note: does create dust, but so what? I cleaned.

Just had my grout cleaned by Alex and Luis. They came on time and explained everything they were going to do. They were professional and did a teriffic job. After finishing they put everything back in place. After seeing the before and after pictures I was sorry I didn't use The Grout Doctor sooner. My floors look like new! I would definitely recommend them!

I had used The Grout Dr several years ago & was very impressed so decided to use them again recently. I would not use them again. There were two men, one who did most of the work & the other was on his phone. The job lasted from 9am to 6pm, including moving furniture. The floors looked great, shiny & clean. As days passed I noticed there was a white residual in some of the kitchen, living room, but primarily in the master bedroom grout. I called to question what it was, if it was sealant & would it go away. A man came out today & could not remove this white item with water & not with grout cleaner. He then said he could paint over the white with gray grout paint & I was assured the paint would not wear off to show the white residual. There was some of this white on the saltillo also but nothing could be done to remove it. I was told it could be something that was possibly spilled on the tile & I said not in the bedroom. So the grout was painted gray where the white residual was & where it was on the saltillo is still there. Considering the cost of the project, I feel like a band aid was applied.
