We moved to Scottsdale from Reno and our new home came with many electrical needs, we also made a lot of upgrades with several new light fixtures and that's were Mister Sparky came in handy. We needed a couple of days worth of repairs and installations done and both our electricians were amazing! Colin and Gino were incredibly professional and polite, and showed up on time. Gino was able to troubleshoot and think outside the box to address and solve one of our main concerns. While the company's fees are bit high, we are very happy with quality of the service and their employees.

This company has some shady, borderline scam, tactics of charging potential customers. I called and scheduled someone to come out and give me a bid/estimate on installing an outdoor outlet. At no point did the lady on the phone tell me that they charge for bids. The technician, Ean, came out and started the sales upsell process which I made clear I wasn't interested in. Then just like other REAL reviewers mentioned, they try to upsell some useless and expensive surge protector.
The tech eventually ran his numbers and came back with outrageously high estimates for the project, like I mean 4x more expensive then the last bid I got from a reputable licensed, bonded and insured company. After I told him I'd compare all the bids he tells me I owe him $19 for coming out to give me the bid!!! This was a first for me and I work with trades all the time. This backwards company is operating in an alternate universe thinking this is an acceptable practice. At least let your potential customers know about this prior to coming out. I see how many people might fall victim to paying it, not knowing it's a scam tactic. After I made it clear to Ean I wasn't going to be another sap he had the audacity to ask me if I was interested in their services. Absolutely not!
Super shady company and myself having a background in digital advertising, I'm convinced plenty of their reviews are fake. Clicking on many of the reviewers profiles you can see these people don't even reside in AZ! I'll be reporting them to Google/yelp to further investigate this. I will also be reporting them to the BBB, Consumer Affairs, ROC and the state attorney general office to also investigate these shameful predatory business practices.

Too expensive and they up sell.  I used this company because I needed to get electrical work done and yelp ratings were high.  The electrician was nice and work was fine. The cost was 3 times more than another bid and the electrician tried to get me to replace circuit breakers.  Just to have a ceiling fan installed it cost 250 dollars.  I felt stuck because this is a rental and I could not keep having my tenant wait for vendors to give me quotes. They also did not show the first appointment so I contacted them and rescheduled.  My advice, do not use this company, be patient wait for the availability of reasonable bids, and sad to say do not totally trust Yelp reviews.

The guy that came by was really nice. But while he was writing up the proposal to replace a 150 amp panel and add 3 new runs from the box, I think he was subjected to some chemicals because his bid was over $17,000.
The prices were so astronimical that I honestly thought he was joking.

All the materials were no more than $1,100 and the job would take less than a day, per his answer ... So that's $15,000+ per day in labor?
I also was not a big fan of sitting at the table while he pulled out a tablet and gave me something reminiscent of a Timeshare Sales Presentation, but that is a company thing he has no control over.

On the bright side, they emailed me a $50 coupon  to be applied if I wanted to move forward with the $17k project (which ended up being $4,200 with another licensed electrician.)

Called to schedule appointment, they were one week out.  No problem.  Appointment day came and they had to reschedule.  Said they were stuck at a customer's house.  Rescheduled for 2 days later, same time slot.  Drove 40 min, again, to meet them at the scheduled time only to get a notice that I needed to reschedule again. Sorry, couldn't do a 3rd time.

I never do review, but this company is so bad I had to warn others. I paid almost 40k for a 3 bedroom house rewire and recessed lighting with new switches and outlets. That to me is way to much. And 6 months later the job still is not done. My technician has excuse after excuse and goes weeks without showing up to finish the job. They have already been completely paid cause I'm to trusting of people and believed it would be completed promptly. My grandma has plaster walls and hates holes in the wall and we compressed to make it easier on them and didn't make them fish the lines and use the holes already there so now we also have holes everywhere and a ton of outlets and switches that aren't needed or used anymore. I have a call into management now so we will see how that goes, but avoid this company at all cost.

Very happy with them. We needed a decent amount of work done, and they did it. The crew that came out (Rex and Corey) were nice, competent, and professional. They were prompt and courteous. It took them 2 days to get it done, including a Saturday, but they were there and did it. Even figured out some odd 30-year-old wiring issues from when the house was built.

They are really expensive and not professional. They wanted to get signatures from me even before giving me any estimate.

Very prompt and professional service. I received a cost estimate prior to the work being done that was reasonable . Dale was very knowledgeable and fixed the problem to my satisfaction

Mister Sparky is a complete rip off. We were in need of a replacement interior breaker box, as our was old and wearing down. They charged $3000 dollars and did an awful job. We had a decorative wall and they completely destroyed it as well, the electrician took almost 6 hours to do the job, was rushed at the end and was basically ripping wires out of the wall aggressively. The job was sloppy and completely overpriced. Could have saved ourselves the trouble and looked up how to do it ourselves. Complete scam, ridiculously overpriced. Just save yourself the trouble and do yourself, the parts to complete the job only cost a small fraction of the price, you can do it yourself with the right safety measures!

Beware!!!! I was referred to this company by a neighbor, I called to have some electrical things done at my house. A young electrician by the name of Steven showed up, THIS GUYS RUNNING A SCAM GAME, beware of him. He'll tell you you need surge protectors on all your panels and ac units then sell you the protectors for every electric panel you have and every AC unit you have, you only need one on the main panel coming in, everything else thats down stream from the main doesn't need one! He also will price out your work that you want done and show you the quote, you sign what you think is a  quote but he is actually billing you, He'll submit the quotes as a bill and work completed so he gets paid on it and gets his commission asap, then he drags his feet on doing the actual work, tells you he has to leave for an hour or so to go help another electrician and he'll be back in an hour or so, I think that's when he runs to another job to sell more surge protectors to some other trustworthy customer. He ran this game on me for almost 3 weeks, he would say hell be here tomorrow then not show up or call, etc etc. He's trying to work 2 or 3 different jobs to scam people. I ended up firing him, I had to fight with Mr Sparky the corporate office,  to get ALL my money back, it took 45 days. They did make good on it and refunded me back my money, they charged him back the commission he made, but was a pain in the ass to go through this bs! MR Sparky might be a reputable company and maybe I got one of their douche bag electricians, but just wanted people to know to beware of an electrician named Steven if he shows up at your house. Hopefully they fired him....good luck, oh, they are a bit pricey too!

They cancelled my appointment because technician had an emergency.  I said OK, please come tomorrow because my electrical problem is an emergency too.  They said sorry it will be another 5 days.  Awful.  Clearly this business does not go the extra mile to help customers when a problem arises on their end. Stay completely away from this business!

I cannot say enough about the level of service that electrician Michael Brandt provided on a recent project.  My overall experience with Mister Sparky, right down to the telephone receptionist, made me feel like a valued customer.

Nothing worse than having electrical issues. We had a problem about 2 months ago when multiple indoor outlets and lights and all of out backyards electrics went out. This included our sprinkler/drip system and all of the plants started to suffer. I get on yelp. Look for electricians in the area and mr sparky shows up with a few good reviews. Now I didn't see the reviews for the other local mr sparks otherwise I would have stayed away.

Anyhow, they were nice on the phone and said they would send someone out the next day. The 2 guys who showed up were super nice and seemed to know what they were doing. They told me the likely problems and told me what it would cost to really diagnose and fix the issues. They quoted me about $350 at the times.

Then the bleeding began. Multiple knocks on the door saying they found more problems. The dude wrote up 3 plans and the given costs. Lots of scary words like melting wires, not up to code, and danger if not fixed were used. Suddenly I'm replacing half the breakers in the main box. At the end of the 2 hour visit I get my bill for around $1000 dollars. Everything is working and although I certainly have some sticker shock, the job is done.

A few weeks ago I meet up with an old friend who happens to be an electrician. This visit gets brought up. He basically explains that I probably got taken and I paid a 500% markup for 2 hours of work and no more than $75 bucks in parts. Awesome. I have a beer with my buddy and forget about the whole ordeal.

This week my phone rings. It's someone from mr sparkys sister company Easy air and heat. They explain to me that when I was visited by mr sparky I also paid for a air conditioning tune up. Shady.....no one every said anything about that when I was getting gouged. I tell them to go ahead and come out. Today they show up. Check out my ac unit, which has been working fine and Is only 2.5 years old. I am told the capacitor is not working right and needs to be fixed or it's going to explode and leak acid all over. I am told this will cost $290 dollars. I say no thanks and that I would need to go through my home warranty company. He then tells me that if they come out they will say there is nothing wrong and not fix it. I still say no thanks and he leaves.

I'm thinking after the first visit I go added to their sucker list. Their work may have all been appropriate. What do I know?  But all the other reviews seem to be pretty consistent.

Don't make the same mistake....

2 stars because they were nice and fixed my problem. Now I just can't afford to give them any more...

So this company is actually a good electric company.  Their techs seems to be responsive and know what they are doing.  I will also say that they show up on time and as expected which is a first for an electrician.  The reason why I give them 3 stars is because their pricing is OUTRAGEOUS.  They also charge for a consultation which I do not think is right.  They charged me almost $200 to replace a receptacle and it probably took the guy 15 minutes.  Like their sister company Benjamin Franklin Plumbing they need to really change their pricing to accommodate most people.

I will say that the first guy who came to our house to assess the situation did NOT know what he was doing. I believe he is no longer an employee, as he mentioned that he was moving. Anyway, he wrote up a work order for four to five hours of work, explaining that holes would need to be drilled in the ceiling and in the wall in two rooms. I did not want to hear that, but I thought it must have been a last resort to solve the problem. So I agreed. But I did request that someone else come to do the work because this guy's body language was telling me his head was not in the game.

Thankfully, Joe came today. He was here on time. He was polite, professional, and quick. He solved the downstairs problem and told me the upstairs fan was broken. He wired things the way I wanted them wired and took 80 to 90 minutes (not five hours) and did NOT have to drill holes of any kind.

I did call the company, as I feel I am entitled to a refund since the first employee was not accurate in his estimate. So I overpaid. I am sure they are a fair company and that they will reimburse me since I paid $1,200 for a quick visit from the first guy and 90 minutes of work today.

So if you need an electrician, call Mister Sparky. But ask for their best electrician. I'd give Joe five stars, but I have to give Mister Sparky four stars because of the dud who came the first time.

Dale Jr (service mgr) from Mister Sparky came out to fix an issue at my home. He was prompt and curious. Resolved the problem quickly and did it all with a smile. Precious (at the office) was upbeat, sweet and called to let me know the tech was on the way.  Overall a great experience and I will be calling them again for electrical needs.

Our hot water heater went out and we saw that the wire leading up to it was melted so we first called this electrician. He told us to fix the problem it would be $200 but all of our wiring was messed up in our box (the previous electrician wired it all incorrectly) and that he would fix that too for $1100. So we opted for the $1100 re-wire. After the work was done, our hot water heater still didn't work. The electrician said it is a plumbing issue. So we called the plumber and the plumber did a reading on the fuse leading to the water heater and if turns out the fuse was the only problem. The electrician checked this fuse by simply shaking it and saying it was fine. Once we replaced the fuse, our hot water worked. Unfortunately, we had to spend an extra $200 for a plumber when our electrician should have caught this during his $1100 job. We are disappointed because we really liked the tech that came by.

Love these guys.  They are all about taking care of me - the customer.  THey actually showed up earlier than they said they would.  Not what I expected.  THey really took care to waer their booties inside and cleaned up after themselves.

I had a coupe small problems and an outlet that wasn;t working at all theyreally seemed to know their stuff.

I highly recommend using them if you have a need for an electrician.

DO NOT CALL THESE PEOPLE THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF.  We had a circuit breaker tripping Mister Sparky came out and diagnosed the problem saying we needed a new line.  I told them I had a home warranty and would call them they then stated we owed $300 for coming out.  Less than 1 hr worth of diagnostics and no work? I refused stating I would pay a trip fee but nothing else, they refused to leave and said they would lower the fee to $187, for what I asked they said for their time.  They refused to leave without payment, my husband paid them the $187 to get rid of them. Again, save yourself money and a headache and don't call them.

Had Mr Sparky come out to put in a couple outlets and surge protector in March 2015. They suggested we change out all of our breakers. So we let them. Paid over $2500. We are snowbirds so left till the fall. Came back in Oct. Our awning wasn't working so called awning co to come fix. They said the motor was burned out probably due to having a 220 line hit that circuit. Cost $1000 to fix. Then our oven kept giving us a error message, sometimes working sometimes not. We got a new oven thinking the other was over 10 years old. Was not the problem! Had a different electrician come out after calling Mr Sparky and they wanted $49 just to come out and look. Turns out the bus for that breaker was bent and was arcing and not connecting. This all due to Mr Sparky! Also had some miss-sized breakers installed.  We also had Sparky install a surge protector and it was very poorly wired in. Wire almost fell off. The 5 star electrician we had come out now did a great job cleaning up after the mess Sparky caused. Lucky our house didn't burn down!

Yep. That's right. Mister Sparky. So close to my nickname in college; Mister Spanky! But there's no foul play with Mister Sparky. These are my go to guys for all my electrical needs. And when you call them, here's how they answer the telephone: Thank you for calling Mister Sparky, my name is Amber, how may I light up your day? For realz! I love that forced perkiness sometimes. When I worked at an aerobic studio in Minneapolis, like, 100 years ago...ok...I know many of you now are picturing me in my Gilda Marx Lycra onesie...and for that, I'm sorry. But I digress. We had to answer the phone in a BIG high energy voice, Hi, it's a great day at The Firm, this is Thomas may I help youuuuuuu? So I get the phone jive. I hope my employees are enthusiastic in their phone answering skills. Nothing worse than a Debbie Downer the first time you call a business. The Mister Sparky team is always on time, clean cut and actually just down right cute! They always leave with a coupon for your next electrical mishap, shake your hand and thank you with a big smile! My kinda biz! So the next time the Lights Go Out in Georgia (oh God I'm old, that is a bizarre Vickie Lawrence reference), I say don't be snarky, call Mister Sparky.

And scene....

I called these guys for a simple elecrical problem and they were able to schedule me for the next day--which was hugely convenient. The electrician they sent, fixed my issue in no time flat.  Since he did the job so quickly, I had him do another job while he was here--a fan install.  The work was done efficiently and they guy they sent was knowledgable and personable. My only issue with this company is their pricing structure. It is hugely expensive.  Their was a $79 fee just for the guy to come out (but they all have this) then a simple 5 minute switch fix was $259. The fan install was $195 plus he had to fix one switch with was an additional $89. All in all the guy was here about 40 mintues and it was just too expensive for the amount of time that my work took. An hourly fee structure would make more sense. I will only call these guys again is I have an electrical problem a that is too complex for an handyman.
