I got a call in December to check all of my plumbing throughout the house and check the water heater.  I should have said no since I recently remodeled the bathroom and kitchen.  But I wanted to have other people check the work.  They agreed the work was done great.  Good Job Re-Bath and JMG Contracting.

Then the sales pitch came when they checked the water heater and showed me all the sediment at the bottom of it.  They educated me on how a 50 gallon water tank with 2.5 bathrooms in the house needed to be maintained at least once a year by draining it.  They then said I am due for a new water heater by the looks of the color and how much sediment there was.  I said ok let's replace it with a tankless water heater.  My gut was telling me I shouldn't do business with these guys but I did.

The tankless water heater they sold me was a Navien  NPE 240A.  This tankless water heater is designed for 3-5 bath house and to replace a 75 gallon plus 40 gallon tank heater to replace both tanks.  If you remember earlier I have a 2.5 bath house and a 50 gallon water heater.  The grand total bill was $7,000.  My fault for not being educated in this.  Not only did they over sell me on the type of tankless water heater I needed.   They over charged me by $1700 of fair market value of that particular model.  compared to pricing I am seeing today.  The water heater that should have been sold to me is a NPE 180A that replaces a 50 Gallon water heater at a price around NO MORE than $5100.

Bottom Line up front:  They sell you stuff you don't need then over charge you for it besides.

Hopefully I learned my lesson.  This company will take your money and take advantage of your ignorance.

Horrible service, had a scheduled date to get a new AC installed they did a no call no show. Gave them a second chance so rescheduled they showed up 40 mins late then the guy was only here for 20 minutes with zero Communication. Then wanted to add on another $1,000 on top of everything else. Definitely glad I went with another company couldn't rely on these guys.

Run do not let them trap you!

They do not show up when they say they will, they have no respect for you or your time. They lie and they overcharge.

They made four promises to us, and they delivered ZERO!  We are without heat for day three and they just postponed us another day.

Needed emergency service on our water heater.  They were able to come out right away.  Ended up needing a new unit and they got it in the next morning.  Price was very fair, techs were incredible (shout out to Curtis), and they even had financing. Very professional and tidy work.  I would highly recommend!

Merlins initially called me in April to offer a promotion for an hvac tune-up. At that time my ac unit worked perfectly fine but I figured a tuneup was probably a good idea before the summer. When the tech arrived, he went on the roof, came down 10 min later and announced that I needed several repairs and replacement of recalled parts. He offered me a deal of a 10yr membership for $3000 that would include all current repairs/parts replacement plus a air purifier, 2 free tune-ups per year, and 20% off parts and labor for 10yrs. I signed up even though I could not understand why my 8yr-old ac unit was needing so much work done when it wasnt broken before the tech even got there. Forward to July, my ac unit was not cooling as it should. I called Merlins and they sent a tech who stated my ac unit had a leak and I needed freon (not sure how THAT happened as the unit was literally 8yrs old and had never leaked or had ANY problems until Merlins touched it). $400-$600 later, my ac was running right again. Come November, Merlins calls me for my free 2nd tune-up for the year. I shouldve trusted my gut but I scheduled the appointment anyway since I had paid $3000 for a membership that included 2 free tune-ups per year. ***Note: My ac unit was working 100% fine before they came out for the 2nd tune-up.*** Upon the techs arrival, he goes on the roof, comes down 5 min later and anounces that my unit's amps are running high and that I'll need a new compressor which costs like $12,000 but not to worry because they can get me financing thru Wells Fargo. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? He then tells me that my dirty air filter (which I had changed less that 30 days prior) likely caused the damage. I told the tech that he is absolutely nuts and that this unit is only 8yrs old so I will call the original company who I bought the unit from. He told me good luck then left my house. After he left, I attempted to turn on my heater and now it didnt work at all!!!! I called Merlins back, they said they'd send a tech out again. I also asked for the manager to call me. 2 or 3 days later, the same tech who tried to sell me a new compressor, came back, got on the roof for 20min, comes back down and says its not the compressor as he initially thought but instead the motherboard is blown. He stated that this would ONLY cost me about $2000. I told the tech to leave. I wasnt giving them another dime as my unit wasnt even broken before they came out. I called the original company who I bought the unit from however they had been bought by a different company. They sent a tech out. I did NOT tell the new tech what the Merlins tech did or said. The new tech went up, spent about 20-30 minutes up there and came back stating it appeared my unit had been sabotaged as there was a thick green fluid oozing out of my unit. The damage caused to my unit was almost $6000 worth which would not make sense to fix when the unit itself had cost less than that 8yrs ago when I bought it. I ended up having to purchase a whole new unit to replace my 8yr old unit even though ac units should have a 15-20yr lifespan. I have reached out to the manager at Merlins 6 times now (all documented) with no response whatsoever. I have since filled a complaint with the BBB and am awaiting Merlins response to their inquiry. I'm sure I am not the only person they have done this to. I am disgusted and mortified how they can take advantage of their customers. I am a single mom on a tight budget. Buyers BEWARE! These guys are CROOKS!

BEWARE!!! I had this company come out to service my AC unit which, although older, WAS WORKING PERFECTLY BEFORE THEY CAME OVER. I just wanted to have it serviced before summer hit. Well, the guy came out and showed me photos of everything that needed fixing. Then their technicians proceeded to vandalize my AC unit. I called the company, never got a call back, and their employee said the owner, Carl Weaver, E. Thunderbird Rd Suite 731, Phoenix, said they wouldn't fix it unless I paid for the needed parts (over $2000).
This company baits people through an ad for cheap AC tuning, then they drum up further business for themselves after their technicians purposely break things on the unit.
They may end up in court with me.
My advice--- get a reputable company. They may charge more for a service call, but they won't vandalize your ac which will end up costing you lots more.
I'm having heart problems, and my blood pressure went waaaay up and pulse over 145 because of this company. I'm 68 and sure don't need this nonsense. This company is willing to take advantage of a 68 year old woman because of greed.
Two days later.... my home warranty serviceman came out. I happen to have a company which services the homes they insure (I just found out--Broward's). Their technician went up on the roof and took a video (too large to upload), but found out that Merlin's technician CUT THE WIRE TO MY AC MOTOR!!! This is vandalism. I have called the police. I have uploaded my home warranty receipt showing that the wire was cut.
In addition, they did something to my contactor. It was not broken before they came over as the unit was not running while in off position. But after they left it was.
Merlin's technicians actually vandalised my AC unit.

Total ripoff. Don't waste your time or $
Bought the AC Tuneup and service thru Groupon. He checks the capacitors. Says unit is dusty. Checked compressor and says lots of cobwebs. I asked him to clean. He said that's extra. He didn't clean anything or lubricate anything. As a 40 year resident I've had one done every year. The tech didn't even hose down the air intake panels outside. What a joke. Don't be fooled.

If I could give them a zero I could. Really ripped me off and tried to do it again but fortunately I found Cave Creek Cooling.  Buyer beware.  If the offer seems too good it usually is.  They will get you coming and going especially if you cannot get on the roof with them.

Had our ac replaced. Very organized process. The entire staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Clean work you won't even know they were here. Prices are high but from what I'm told Costs are high everywhere. My ac came with a long term maintenance plan so that's included in the pricing. So far so good with this company. I will update if anything changes during any maintenance visits. Only thing I wish I could actually see a breakdown of the pricing. They just give a package amount.

I hired Merlin's AC & Plumbing to do my AC tune up before the summer.
The tech...Lancelot was extremely professional. He took his time & explained
everything to me & also took pictures for my reference. In my 18 years in this house I have never had a technician who was as thorough ...he even went up into my attic to check the blower...no one has ever done that.
I highly recommend Merlin's AC & Plumbing!

Ohhh nooooo... they are shady!! They will break your stuff just to make you pay them to fix it... BEWARE!! They didn't realize i have cameras and got the whole thing on video!!

I would recommend caution when using Merlin for your AC needs. In fairness, my experience may have been an isolated one, but the technician that came out to service my AC that had gone out on a day that reach 112 degrees, could NOT diagnose the problem. She proceeded to describe how she was certain the fan was burned out, but could not be sure about the compressor, and would only know after she replaced the fan. The story I got was that this could be a lengthy trial and error of fixes that could end up needing to replace the entire unit. That is what she recommended and quoted me between 11-14k to replace?  (The unit was 8-9 years old and she said that is about all you can expect?)  I was uncomfortable and decided to get a second opinion. CW AC in Scottsdale was recommended so I invited them out. Within 15 minutes they diagnoses a bad part in the ac unit itself. The replaced it on the spot and we're out the door for $350. (They also shared my unit appeared to have a good 5-7 years of life left and recommended a service, which I have now scheduled with them)  Be cautious with Merlin. I felt they were trying to take advantage of a very bad situation to significantly overcharge and sell me something that was absolutely not needed. This service call to fix the problem become a Sales job given the vulnerable situation (I have a large dog that was struggling with the heat and had to get this fixed?)
