We came to use Jumbo Air as a contractor because our home warranty company sent them to our home to repair our AC. The initial repair took a week and lasted even less time, after which the AC has not functioned whatsoever for nearly six weeks during the hottest time of the year. After two weeks of waiting for repair, Kristina convinced us that the home warranty would take too long to approve our claim and said that we should pay to replace our AC unit out of pocket and file for reimbursement from the home warranty company. We agreed, happy to have a working unit again. The unit never worked. Come to find out, there are components within the home as well (this is a split system with an outdoor compressor and indoor air handler) that she did not replace, did not offer to replace, and never indicated any issue with them. Typically both parts are replaced as a package deal- something Kristina told us nothing about. After the unit did not work, I again contacted Kristina and was told that a coil in the air handler needed to be replaced. She made a big show of sending me screenshots of text messages with the representative of the home warranty company, claiming she'd found the last part in the US for our air handler. After nearly two weeks, multiple unanswered text messages, and no available tracking or shipping information, the part arrived and was installed. The unit still didn't work. Several days later, the company's only technician (Kristina's brother Pete) came back out and claimed the unit had frozen up, needed to defrost and needed more Freon to function. We waited several hours and turned it back on, per Pete's instruction. We saw drainage from a light fixture and assumed this was the water drainage from the formerly frozen unit. The AC still never cooled below 80 degrees yet continued to drain. I sent multiple text messages and the company didn't send anyone to find a solution. I called out two other companies to look at the AC and they informed us that the entire ceiling had flooded. They told us that the AC unit was installed backwards outside, the pipe was not insulated, yet the insulation was lying on the ground next to the unit, the wires were carelessly exposed, the unit was connected to the air handler incorrectly in the attic, causing one leak, and the coil was installed incorrectly, causing a second leak. They showed us photos, informed us that the coil did not fit properly and was propped up with a flashlight to attempt to make it fit. They also informed us that the entire air handler had to be replaced. Kristina sent out a contractor with another company and that contractor also confirmed that the outside unit was installed backwards and that the air handler needed to be replaced. I asked him if it was obvious that the air handler was in poor condition and if anyone who worked on AC units would know that and he agreed that the damage was obvious. Kristina called me and attempted to convince me to allow her company to install the air handler. I refused as i had lost all confidence in them during the preceding six weeks. She insisted they'd done nothing wrong, even after I presented the evidence I'd been given. She claimed the unit could be installed either way, yet three separate contractors (including one sent bf Kristina herself) told me otherwise. She also tried to play on my emotions, telling me she'd been written up as a result of our AC problems and that she'd likely be fired. I confronted her, as I was aware that she owned the company. She lied to me, claiming she was a different person working for the company who spelled her name Christina. As she was calling me from her personal cell phone number and the business was also registered to that number, I was able to quickly disprove her false claims. If this business owner is willing to lie to clients about her identity and pretend she doesn't own the company, how can anyone trust that she's being truthful about the state of their air conditioners? Jumbo Air never answers calls, rarely returns text messages, and is always late to appointments. We waited until 8 pm one night for Pete to show up, just to be told that he'd run out of supplies during the day and would need to return at 7:30 am the next morning. The next morning, we were waiting for Pete at 7:30 and he didn't come until almost 10. This is just of numerous similar examples of experiences we had with this contractor. Thousands of dollars later, and thanks to another company we hired and paid, we now have a functioning unit. I'm not convinced the actual AC compressor had any issues in the first place and I think Kristina convinced us to replace it just to make money off of us, knowing that because it wasn't actually broken, the warranty wouldn't allow them to replace it. She knew we were distressed about the problems and were eager to get the AC working again and she used that to her advantage. Do not trust this company with your business. I really wish we hadn't.
