ABOUT BUSINESS OWNER
I grew up around the antique refinishing business in the Midwest helping my father and uncle restore antiques for their business. I developed a deep interest and appreciation for older items, especially furniture pieces.
When I was 29 years old I decided on a career change and my wife and I started our own furniture restoration business here in Phoenix in 1989.
We now have several employees and a large shop offering repair, refinishing, upholstery, & weaving on fine and antique furniture pieces.
We have passed our trade on to our two sons who are now running the business and very "hands on" with restoration projects daily.
It is an honor and pleasure for us to be able to be a part of restoring others' family memories by restoring their family furniture items.

I had a major problem with damage from a move cross country. The movers had scratched some beautiful midcentury furniture and heirlooms from my parent's home. The moving company was good enough to do all restorations through Irwin's Furniture & Restoration.
Don came by first and did an assessment of the damages, took photos and sent them to the moving company for approval. Once approved a few days later Sergio from Irwin's arrived, photographed all damages and moved all furniture onto the van.
Today all my furniture showed up. Some of it looked even better than NEW! This is a family owned business that takes quality seriously. They pay a lot of attention to DETAIL.
Do yourself a favor. There are bargain furniture restorers out there but if you want the job done right the first time this is the company to call.
Quality and Craftsmanship is Job #1

We are going to find another company. Donald does not seem interested in the least. I understand that you are busy, all you needed to say is you are not taking on additional projects.
I waited almost 2 weeks to get an answer he could have given me on day one.
Donald doesn't know the length of a dowel he can make?! Really?
It took 2 weeks to figure it out???!!!
Just for the record my partner and I are both health care professionals, so believe me I understand busy, doing our jobs and trying to stay healthy.
If I used busy as an excuse like your company does
HALF OF PHOENIX WOUD BE DEAD .
I will be sending a review of the treatment I received.

I had a reed dining chair seat re-done. This had to be woven by hand and I'm sure it was not easy, but I trusted them when they said this was in their wheel-house. The finished product does not look very much like the original chair. The reeds are uneven in their height, with some projecting up higher than other, like uplifts in sidewalks cracks. It took over 90 ninety days to get the job done and the price I paid was equivalent to buying a brand new chair ($300-$400 range). Perhaps it was wrong of me, but I expected more professional results. I'm hoping with time some of the reeds will settle down flat like they ought to be. Right now I find this a huge expensive disappointment. I don't like dissing local businesses, but honestly I should not have been charged what I was for this result. In the photos below you see an original chair (right) next to the newly woven one (left). A detail of the new chair is also shown.
Great job, restored my buffet that was in my mother's basement for years. I will recommend Irwin to anyone that wants bring old furniture back to life
Irwin's Furniture picked up my damaged piano, cedar chest and bench, carefully removed them to their warehouse for repair and restoration. Today they delivered it all back into our house quickly and professionally! Sergio and crew were awesome, friendly and helpful. Great job!!
I am an Interior Designer in Scottsdale. After 10 years of living here, our Baker cane dining chair seats dried out and collapsed. Irwin replaced and they look brand new. His work was awesome and I have already recommended him to several clients! Thanks Irwin.

Very disappointed with the quality of the service and the timeliness of the service at this shop. I took in a canned back chair on May 24th and requested the cane backing be repaired and the cane be stained to match. I also, explained that I was necessary to receive the chair back before June 23 since I planned to pack a pick up truck that weekend to drive to Idaho the weekend of June 30th. I was promised the chair would be done prior to June 23. I called Irwin's two weeks prior to June 23rd and asked if there was anyway, they could get it done sooner since I decided to leave a week earlier to Idaho. I was advised very sternly that I could not receive it any sooner and that I would be called when the chair was done. Since I was not leaving until June 23, I decided I could live with it plus they had already made me pay 100% of the price when I dropped it off. On June 23rd I received a call that the chair was ready. Unfortunately, I was already in the middle of Nevada since I had left early that morning. In any event I went in today to pick up the chair since I flew back to Phoenix on June 25th. I went in to pick up the chair and even though the receipt clearly states stain to match the back of the cane was not stained to match. The front was stained to match and when the manager/owner came out to discuss, he simply indicated that they don't stain the back even though it is visible as well as the front. He simply refused to fix the problem and said they don't stain the back. When I explained I was never advised of this and was specifically told the cane would be stained to match he just walked away. They even had a sample that was cut from the old cane that showed the previous cane was significantly different in color in the back.
Be very wary of this shop and make sure you give very clear instructions. Also, make sure you give them more than a month for a very simple repair. I had noted the very good reviews previously and I was just too trusting, I guess.

Very positive experience with Irwin's! We had a major water leak in our home and Don was there to assist getting our furniture processed. Irwin's was helpful every step of the way. Thank you!
These guys did an incredible job on refinishing our dining room table which was damaged. In our move from CT to Az. Table top and leaves look brand new, color and finish incredible. All personnel were on time and safe in handling the table.
As a homeowner of thirty years in Scottsdale, Irwin's is one of the finest companies I have dealt with. I couldn't be more pleased with my new kitchen cabinets which were installed in a timely manner. They are extremely professional and friendly. Melissa was so helpful with her many suggestions and was with us every stop of the way.

Irwin's did an outstanding job restoring an antique Hoosier Cabinet (glass in upper cabinet and lower cabinet doors were restored to match. The cabinet was in complete disrepair having been stored in a barn for years - it needed loving care and restoration. This is the 2nd or 3rd time I've used Irwin's - they've done work on other pieces of furniture, but this project was the biggest and most extensive work I've had done. I was very pleased with the results seeing an amazing transformation when the cabinet was returned to my home. Don Irwin, Donald Jr. and their delivery crew are wonderful to work with.
Don't know....they may do excellent work. I wouldn't know! When I emailed them to get an estimate for a small job, they didn't even have the courtesy to respond. Apparently, they don't want to bother with small items.
