Vincent was very, very patient with my questions and explained in great detail for me how my heater was acting and why blowing cold air did not mean it was broken or out of refrigerant. He took the time to listen to my concerns and to offer a solution. I really appreciate the explanation he gave about my heat and wanted to let him know the heat is back on. That's a great employee!

We've had a maintenance contract for our A/C with Howard Air for years. They are great to deal with on all levels - excellent service over the phone, easy to schedule appointments (even on Saturdays) and they really do prioritize getting us help ASAP when we have an emergency since we have a contract. When we do need repairs, their fees are reasonable, and they get the job done quickly. I highly recommend them!

Our regular technician Kent gets my #ServiceStarShoutOut for keeping our air cool despite the age of our unit!

Wish I could give zero stars. We had a residential AC unit replaced today, 5 employees arrived at 7 am and they were still working on it until 8 pm. I put my entire day on hold thinking they did the job I finally left the house for 1 hour. Upon returning home the AC isn't functional, the filter they taped on because they didn't have a proper sized one fell off, and the thermostat is completely unresponsive with no power going to it. After 13 hours of extreme discomfort and exacerbating my heart condition in the heat I called them for assistance. Was told I would be hearing from a dispatcher in 10 mins. An hour later, it didn't happen so I call again. They sent a second message to dispatch at midnight and now it's 6:30 am with no response. Any claims of 24 HR emergency repair is a lie.  This is after months of trying to get this unit up and running. First time they promised to pump the unit to give us relief they also failed to execute. It's taken at least 6 visits to our residence and over 8 Howard staff to .... not replace an air conditioner lmao. Definitely in the top 2 worst customer service experiences of my life.

i would leave 0 stars if i could. these jokers arrived at my house yesterday at 7am to install a brand new ac unit. ive waited months for this because the unit was on backorder. they worked from 7am to 8pm, taking up my whole day during which time i had no air conditioning. at 8pm, with the air running, they left. by 10pm the air was no longer working. im dissatisfied not only with the poor quality of the install but also the way it has not at all been rectified. i called the 24hour number both last night and this morning. both times i was told i woukd be receiving a call back from dispatch - one operator lied and said it would only take 10 minutes - but dispatch never called and i still don't have air. i will never recommend these totally uncool losers to anyone. save your money. i had air before they arrived and now i dont. con artists.

UPDATE: they sent someone over right away this morning to fix the problem and after another 2 hours of him working he told me he has to come back monday for ANOTHER 6 hour job. 20 hours i have to have these losers in my home. worst experience i've ever had with a business and i will be reporting them to the BBB

I have such mixed feelings about this company.  I have always really liked the technicians that come to my home, and I've found Howard Air to be a customer-centric company.  I have spent quite a bit of $ with these guys over the years with the initial installation of my units and subsequent service.  Their work has always been of high quality.  In the past, I have referred them to friends and family.

That said, I was very disappointed with my latest service experience with Howard Air.  Following our annual maintenance visit, they recommend additional services on my two AC Units.  They gave me a flat-fee pricing up front which I accepted.  

I was disappointed because I paid nearly $700 for a job where the technician was working on my units less than two hours (verified by my Nest cam) and the only materials/parts he used was a cleaning spray.  Do the math - I paid around $350/hr for their services.  I don't feel like this was a good value.

I called Howard Air to voice my concern.  They politely declined to do anything about it.  The service manager explained to me that the price was fair, and added something to the effect of, Win some, lose some with respect to the job not taking very long.

It is up to you to determine whether their prices are fair.  I was left disappointed.  This company was one of my favorites in the past.

Insane prices for basic services. $341 to replace a capacitor, are you kidding me?? You can literally buy a new capacitor for $15. Takes a tech less than 10 minutes to swap out the old one for a new one. How can this company defend a $300+ labor charge for something as simple as that? Received a quote for a new AC unit including installation, they were $5,000 higher than the next highest quote I received for the same unit, labor, warranty. Sales and tech folks are good, but wow, pricing is just ridiculous. Don't waste your money here.

I have only seen Howard Air advertising on KTAR.com and saw their ad next to a comment by a KTAR regular who posted a racist message about blacks are at it again... then accusing a black man who was victimized by the police of simply looking for an excuse to sue so he could spend their time at the KFC drive-thru. I am aware of how much time and money goes into this targeted advertising and I learned all I needed to about a company who wants to appeal to racists and advertises on platforms that broadcast hate speech.

They may do excellent work but, as a property owner in this community, I think the values of a company who funds hate-filled message boards is a few-breaker for me. There are plenty of other HVAC businesses in the Valley who do not sponsor forums riddled with racism and hate speech.

Schedulers and service folks are 5*.  But they service manger/company will not provide transparent pricing.  Parts and labor are lump sum and they will not break it out.  Statement: We provide book plus labor and it is competitive but we cannot break it out.  Cost is roughly 60% parts/40% labor.  But if you provide the parts then the cost will be 60% labor.  Yup, no transparency and sliding costs depending on the situation.

We were one of the many unfortunate households to have our A/C unit fail on one of the hottest days this summer.  We contacted Howard Air as soon as we could, and understandably, weren't able to come over until the next day.  Our appointment window was 7-12, and on the morning of, our technician Dave contacted us when he was 20 minutes away.  He was prompt, courteous, and explained our options thoroughly.  He made the repairs, and the unit has been working great since.  Thanks again Dave, and thanks Howard Air.

I purchased an annual service contract with Howard Air earlier this year.  This week I had a situation where my 3 year old Trane was having a cooling issue so I called and asked to have someone look at it.  Today, Henry from Howard Air came to diagnose the system and once he isolated the issued preceeded to repair it.   He took time to explain everything to me and why he was doing it made sure I knew the best way to operate the system now that it was repaired.  I know Howard Air is a Trane Comfort Specialist, an Elite dealer and appreciate Henry's knowledge and his professionalism.  I am so pleased with Howard Air and Henry who is the face of the company with the customer.  As a business owner, I so appreciate an employee that provides that level of customer service.  Thank you Howard Air and thank you Henry.

Do not do business with this company. They are dishonest. Do yourself a favor and avoid them. Do not even try to resolve complaint, they just get rude with you. Very poor customer service. Avoid this company!

We're extremely happy we chose Howard Air! Top notch work done! We got our new air conditioner in 2018. Our entire house is always very comfortable since then. Thanks to them also cleaning our ventilation system; and adding more vents; and installing our new thermostat, etc., the temperature we set is the exact temperature in each room. (With Our old system some rooms were always warmer than others.) But not anymore, again thanks to Howard Air.
With their excellent work, they've earned our trust! Obviously, they want customers happy with the outcome!

This included a Free checking of the entire AC system every 6 months.

We called Howard Air today because our A/C & Heater socket went Kablooie. They said they would be here around 3 PM, but they over delivered. Theron our tech called a little before 11:30 am. He arrived before 12 pm. He figured out the problem and repaired our blown out socket and wired it back up in a jiffy. He made sure everything worked, meaning the heat came on, and the air conditioning worked and cooled as well. We need more people like Theron in this business. He deserves great accolades and I will ask for him again, when we need help. Thank you Howard Air, for making sure we keep our cool! Sorry, for the dad joke.  Because we need heat as well and that works too.

Shawn arrived at our home an hour before scheduled *he called to let us know he was 30 minutes away * he diagnosed our problem with confidence and went straight to work. He was professional, honest and made us confident in knowing we chose the right company. Our A/C is working wonderfully! Highly recommended. Thanks again, Shawn!

I was originally ok with paying a premium for Howard Air. They are more expensive but I thought had good warranty and service. For the past 3 years tried to get pricing for a thermostat with sensor. Excuse after excuse for not providing it. This year I was told to go to their showroom to see the options. Which I did and the people at the showroom were shocked I was told this since it was a 30 min drive for me and able to be discussed over the phone. No one had pricing since it was a new item. Was told a new thermostat installed was over $500 or if I wanted to buy it myself over $200 to install. I wanted it and it would work for how my house is set up and when the technician came I was told he would be an expert in setting this up because Howard Air does hundreds a day and that's what I'm paying for. Technician left me to connect to WiFi myself and was looking online with me for step by step guide to set up sensors. During the whole time taking about how complicated it was and his first time Installing them. Some $200 each expert I was paying for. Called the office while he was here, explained my frustration and just like Howard Air they said they would call me back and never did. No discount for having to set up the thermostats myself. Waiting for my warranty to expire then finding a new HVAC company.
