My name is Joshua and I’m new to Yelp, and fortunately I’ve spent my lifetime in the garage door industry! My grandfather Smokey made a great name for himself and his family in the garage door business here in Arizona. As a kid I was introduced to the garage door business by way of sorting nuts and bolts, pushing a broom, cleaning trucks and loading. By the time I turned 18 my aunt and uncle (Dan and Michelle) we’re running my grandfathers company and the saw I had a knack for sales and technical ability so they hired me full time. Over the course of the next two decades I rose from a “counter tech/salesman” to taking the reigns of the family business in late 2007! To say my first year in business as a General Manager was full of lessons would be an Understatement But we were fortunate my grandfather had built a reputation for running an Honest Garage Door REPAIR company. HISTORY
My names Joshua, I’m a third generation garage door man. I absolutely LOVE the garage door business! They say when you “love” what you do you never have to “work” a day in your life! I ran my family’s company for close to twenty years and now my partner Jeff and my wife and kids all get to enjoy this next leg of our journey helping you with all of your Access Control needs. Our spring broke on our garage door, found out from my son in-law about Josh and his company. My son said he was really good, and his prices are great and of course my son in-law was correct!! Josh and his assistant came out the next day replaced the springs and I told him it makes a lot of noise when we open it. he said the runner wheels were shot and for a little more in price he suggested replacing them. Wow what a difference!! I hated opening my garage at 430 am each morning, so much noise!! No noise now... he was fast, extremely friendly and his price was great and a great warranty to boot! Thanks Josh!!

JOSHUA WAS SERVICEMAN...
Confrontational encounter with Joshua Pettiette on August 1, 2022...at approximately 1:50 pm. Joshua arrived to check out my garage door. He had another person with him. This was a recall to try and diagnose the problem why the door had went out of balance. He had replaced both tension springs on 12/31/2021...but within a couple of months the door slowly started to go
off balance...I texted him a video showing him the stress the opener was
going through trying to open the unbalanced door. and told him this had been going on for a couple of months. His comment was I only hear the rollers., but the stress continued. In late July the stress on the opener got so bad that I disconnected it from the door and operated the door manually. I sent him a couple of text and called him asking him to return. I told him that
both the local spring distributor, COOKSON and the door manufacturer, CLOPAY had indicated a totally different set of torsion springs for my particular door, different from the ones he had installed. He refused to return without charging me a service fee. I told him that the problem appeared to be either the wrong springs or a problem with the installation of the springs. When he arrived I tried to show him the emails from both companies indicating the proper springs but he refused to discuss the matter any further and said THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT! He proceeded to work on the door adjusting the springs, etc. and I did hear him say that there was a problem was a cable on the right side that he adjusted. He then looked at me and said I am going to charge you a service fee. I said ok but explain to me what he had done and why wasn't the problem solved when he first installed the springs. I told him that every time I tried to explain anything about his service he wouldn't listen and shut down any conversation. It was at this point that the other person with him looked at me and said SHUT THE F*** UP! At that point I felt threatened and dialed 911 telling the 911 operator that I was being threatened by a garage door service person inside my garage. She immediately dispatched 3 Sheriff's police officers and told me to go into the house. Joshua and the other person immediately left before the Sheriff's police arrived. I told the officers the story and said I'm 80 years old with a heart condition and definitely felt threatened by these 2 people, but decided to not file a complaint.
please help to find those two persons Joshua s pattiete and his partner they work in repair and replace garage doors in Glendale az only use that business to fraud costumers after u make a contract give a deposit they hide hope with this help i put those guys in jails to much people are been fraud
I have used Josh in the past so I called him again.
While I like the new garage door installed at my home, I am still very disappointed that this company has not followed up on installing insulation in my smaller garage door as promised. My invoice is dated May 26, 2021 and there has not been any follow from this company.
I have tried three times to leave messages in the past two weeks and no one has ever returned my calls or made an appointment to finish the job that was promised back at the end of May.
If they are not going to complete my original job, at least be honest enough and tell me and refund me the portion that you are not going to do.
I sent photos to Joshua to see if he could repair a broken weld joint on my fence. He stated that would not be a problem. He attempted to weld the fence on October 5, 2020. The weld joints failed that day when I returned home. He already collected $175.00 dollars for the job. I called him immediately and notified him that joint failed that he needed to correct the problem. He agreed that he would come back on October 7, 2020 to repair the weld joint. His second attempt also failed. The pictures indicate his 1st and 2nd attempt to repair the weld joint.
He left the job site without contacting me telling me and telling me that he was not able to correct the problem. I spent two days trying to reach him and he stated that I friend would repair the fence for him since he was working in the area. His friend never contacted me. Joshua also stated that his other machine to repair the fence was at another job site. This statement turned out not to be true. He did not have another machine. In addition, he stated that the machine that he used was too small to do the job. As a professional who does this a living you would think he should have known this prior to accepting the job.
Joshua never returned my phone calls or text. I gave him an option to refund my money of $175.00 dollars or take a bad review on Yelp. He chooses to take the money and the bad review. He did honor his word or the warranty that he committed to. I would not recommend them.

First time when I called Josh for a service two years ago, he responded promptly and quick with the service. Price was very reasonable and fair. He left a great impression, so I kept his number and referred few of my clients to him.
I called him for another service. He showed up and inspected the scope of work. He said he will get back to me with an estimate. So I patiently waited and didn't bother moving forward with another company to have it repaired, even though it was urgent matter.
Few days goes by, I got no response. So I reached out to him, and he said he is still working on the estimate and making sure I will get the best pricing. Few more days goes by, no response. Then he sent me a message saying he will get back to me soon. So I waited couple more days, I texted and called. No response.
At this point, I am thinking maybe he is ignoring my calls and text messages. So I tried using different number, well, he responded within 2 mins. Go figure!
If he is not interested doing the job or it is something he can't do. Simple message saying I can't do it would of been okay with me. I would have moved on to another reputable company quickly. Rather than wasting my time chasing around like a bill collector.
I guess when you're business start getting busier, you start ignoring the customers and forget about them.
My garage door springs went out, I needed fast reliable service. That wouldn't hurt the pocket. Great Doors & Gates was the best choice. They were very knowledgeable, reasonably priced. And they weren't trying to sell me products that I didn't need. My door and opener were also serviced. I got the full service! I'm an extremely satisfied customer. Any garage door needs in the future, I know who I'm going to. And who I will refer when friends and family need garage door services!
Amazing customer service, they help you understand an not just rush you to get things done with a fast quote time. Job well done, and thank you for following covid safety's.

Came Home Drunk & Drove my car threw the garage door. One Call Away I Got My Garage door fixed right away at a GREAT PRICE!! I am happy to go threw this company! I'm satisfied on the friendly service! And how patience he had in explaining some things to me. DEFINITELY WILL BE REFERRING THIS COMPANY TO FAM/FRIENDS!!
