We work in both Commercial and Residential services. Fox Valley Electric is an Established company. We began in commercial electrical installation here in the Valley. By developing relationships with our customers we have been steadily growing. Now we have moved on into Residential and Commercial Service work. We value our clients and are always working to maintain positive relationship.

Decided to go Solar. I used Rosie on the House recommendation and contacted Fox Valley. From the first no pressure conversation, that clearly explained every step of the process. I DIdnt need to look further. I was so comfortable with my questions being answered.
The whole process was non stress, very well communicated, and done promptly.
The installation crew led by Angel and included Abraham and Brandon was highly skilled, communicative, and polite. They even painted the conduit to match my house. Heidi coordinated all communication via email and was very responsive. Overall, I was so very happy I chose Fox Valley Electric to go solar!

So far, so good!!  We decided to go solar and have been so happy with their service.  We were told they'd show up by 9am to begin, they pulled up exactly on time.  Within about 15 minutes, they were set up and installing the solar panels on our roof.  We were told it could be an all day thing, but it ended up not taking as long as they thought, since there were no issues.  The installers were very respectful of myself and my pets.  They tested everything and we're good to go.  

We just have to await a few inspections and as soon as that's done, we can finally be connected!!

The Fox Valley electricians did a good job installing my Solar panels and updating my new electrical panel. The workmanship was top notch. The problem was with project management not covering all the issues APS would present. This caused the project to go on for a long time. Panels where installed in July 2022, the system was turned on in March 2023, do to the site not being ready for APS to approve. I will say APS was looking for reasons to put a hold on the project, but Fox Valley Project Managers should have known that and did a better job on managing the project.
But in the end they delivered a good system.

Loyd is the best- prompt- courteous and efficient-
excellent service- done fast and right-
he installed my power transfer switch- walked it all down with me and explained everything- even gave me ideas to improve my set up.

Fox electrician came to my home, and ended up replacing a wall outlet in my bedroom, due to a overload from the electric space heater that I was using. Cost was $208 & I provided the replacement wall outlet, a bit expensive in my opinion, oh,well a learning experience!

We had Lloyd Ferguson install an outlet over our fireplace. He was fast and friendly. He answered unrelated electronic questions for me. He was very knowledgeable. I would recommend him to anyone needing work.

When we purchased this home, the electrical panel needed a subpanel added.  Lloyd Ferguson, with Fox Valley Electric, very expertly installed a new subpanel with additional breakers to add capacity for later remodeling.  He was prompt, efficient and very nice! He was patient with all the questions and requests we had.

Today is March 21, 2022.  I made an appointment with Fox Valley Electric three weeks ago. Today I called to confirm the appointment and to verify the estimated time of arrival.  

The woman who answered my call checked with her manager.  She stated that they were too busy to keep my scheduled appointment.

These people are not reliable!

I wanted special, complex, ceiling lighting installed in our home. Nick Mulderig of Fox Valley Electric evaluated what I needed, ordered the correct lighting, and then he and his partner spent a whole day crawling through our attic and installing it. It came out even better than I had hoped.  Ask for Nick.

!!!Pls READ before Scheduling an Appointment!!!

I found this company on Google, so I called in to schedule an appointment and I was told they charge flat rate and there will be a $75 troubleshooting fee that includes fixing easy problems, or they would give me a cost estimate if the problem is hard to fix.

The next day, one technician came and said I must choose one of the options (in the picture below) to start, if not, he won't do anything and I have to pay him $75 for being here. I said that was not what I've been told, and he called back to his company and the girl on the phone said there is a misunderstanding, I have to choose one option to start.
Wait, wait, wait! Why nobody mentioned that I have to do a multiple choice before it starts? Why I have to pay $75 just for the technician to be at my place? Am I inviting Elizabeth II? Actually, I am pretty sure there is no misunderstanding, all the phone calls was recorded and they should have the recordings. What they are trying to do is just fool people around and charge more money.

To save my time and let the it start, I chose the cheapest option and paid $259. It took about 1 hr 20 mins in total.
If you're rich and don't even care about money, please ignore what I said. Otherwise, you'd better BE CAREFUL!!

I had Fox Valley Electric come out to check a light fixture that was not working at our home. I had previously called a different company that told me I had power to the unit, which wasn't true. They did a terrible job and I needed someone else to come out and take a look. Lloyd came out and was very professional. He confirmed that there was no power to the unit and provided me with several options on what could be done to fix it. Although we decided not to fix it at this time, I would highly recommend Fox Valley Electric. They arrived sooner than expected and worked quickly to address the issue. If you do contact them, ask for Lloyd!

We had a variety of electrical items we needed done. Light instillation, new outlets, video flood light etc. I met with Lloyd, he explained the process and provided a quote. We elected to have several items completed and scheduled the following week. Lloyd was professional, friendly and did a great job completing the work. We had a few tricky items and really appreciate the way Lloyd navigated through it all. We will definitely be scheduling to have some additional items done soon. Thanks, Lloyd and Fox team!

I do not appreciate FOX VALLEY ELECTRIC'S  last minute price gouging!!! When I called for an estimate of swapping a ceiling fan, I was told it would be $75 service fee.  Alerted by the term service fee and expecting to pay more,  I then asked, is there any additional cost?  I was quickly told again it is $75 unless the work is more complicated than what I requested.

When Josh arrived he immediately begins to remove my ceiling fan and saw it would just be a swap, nothing more complicated.  I was then shown price packages that ranged from $545 - $2000, for one ceiling fan replacement plus the $75 service fee.  $545 being quoted as the BAND AID package  just fix it only!  $545!!!!!

I truly expected more than $75, but $545 is the low package for one ceiling fan swap!!!!

$545 for one ceiling fan swap?!?!?!?!  

I supplied the ceiling fan and the electrical lines were already in place!!!  

The worst part is now my fan is down so I would have to at least pay the $75 service fee even if I refused the work.

Josh is an awesome technician - too bad he works for such a shady company!!

From the looks of it I am not the only person to be shocked by your last minute quotes.  Your practice is deceptive and you should be ashamed.

You got me once.  I will not be using or recommending your business to anyone!

Price Price Price, I had Fox Vally come out to the house to replace a number of light switches. The charge is 200 a switch. At 10 switches is 2000 dollars for about 2-3 hours of work. THAT WAS WITH ME SUPPLING THE SWITCHES.  I told the guy to leave immedieatly this price was crazy. It still coat me the 79 dollar fee to be insulted by the price.
DO NOT USE THIS COMAPNY UMLESS YOU LIKE GIVING ALLYOUR MONEY AWAY.

We needed a ceiling fan replaced, but we wanted the AC wire run through the attic to a switch on the wall, replacing the wire that looped across the VAULTED ceiling and down to a wall outlet with a switch in the wire. Frank came out and after I went with him into the attic, I didn't think it would happen. No space to move and ductwork in the way. Frank poked around some more up there and found a way. About an hour and a half later our new fan was spinning. Frank even put in a dimmer type switch so we could control the speed of the fan at the switch. Put in in extra wire cable to the fan, in case we ever want to add lights later. Frank was fantastic. I wouldn't hesitate to use Fox Valley again and recommend them to all.

(BTW regarding price, Frank showed us a range of prices from too expensive to reasonable, I thought. The too expensive prices included services I didn't need or want and extended warranties I never buy anyway. I choose the price that basically just covered the job at hand and nothing else. I am happy with what I paid. This was no job for a handyman, I needed a professional for a difficult installation done cleanly and to code. I didn't expect to pay handyman prices. I knew about the minimum charge to come out and look at the job, good thing I hired them anyway. I know a lot of contractors charge a fee to come out and look (not everybody has free estimates) but I I think if they could improve one thing they shouldn't charge or charge so much just to go out and look at the task, or give a better approximation to the client of the real charges before they go out.

would never recommend Fox Valley..
I waited 3 weeks for an appointment and the night before I get informed that a particular tech is now not available so I would either have to have another electrician come out or reschedule. I agreed to another electrician to come out the next morning at 7am. Than on the morning of the appointment at 630am  I get a call that the electrician was running behind and wont be there until 9am. Than at 830 am I get another call that they have to reschedule for another day. So much for a 3 week appointment. now I'm left scrambling to find someone else. So disappointed considering all the great reviews.

I am not entirely sure if they are capable of their jobs.  What I can tell you is they are good at breaking appts.  I set up an appt 1 month prior and a few days prior they call me to cancel my appt. When I say I made this  appt a month ago, the lady said so?  No explanation. Wow. Wow. Wow. No service with a smile.

Lloyd Ferguson from Fox Valley Electric came to my home while I was at work and my wife was home. She called me after Lloyd did a whole house electric check to tell me that he was nice and did a good job. We now know what is needed to get our old home fixed up correctly and we will definitely be calling to get the actual work done.

Fox Valley Electric has great communication and great customer service. We use them often in the area all the time. The onsite customers are always pleased and say that the technicians are very friendly. They always respond fast and have great prices. I highly recommend them.

Waste of time. Scheduled an appointment for 11-1. They said there is a $75 troubleshooting fee. I asked if they do free estimates. She said she would waive this fee and the technician would find out the problem and let me know how much it would cost to fix it. Also was supposed to get a call or text 30-60 minutes before. Got a call at 10:45 saying no one was home. They asked to reschedule. I said no and would be there in 45 (time it takes to get home). Got home and showed him what the problem was. He said ok it will cost 174 for him to troubleshoot and fix it. I said that's not what I was told on the phone. He said it's a misunderstanding in their company. I told him I'm not paying that and got other quotes for 100 and he left. Drove all the way home for him to text on his phone and give me a high estimate. They were there for two minutes.

I had mounted my t.v. And thought for sure i hit a power line in the wall because my breaker kept tripping. Called fox, they had a tech at my house within a few hours. Lloyd F took one look at one of the light switches and immediately diagnosed the issue as a shorted out porch light. Talk about a relief! He disconnected the light so i could continue to watch tv, until i decide if i wana repair it or not. No more breaker issues, tv works fine, my mount stayed in place and i will always remember and refer fox valley electric. Awesome awesome awesome!

I purchased an Amazon Local coupon for $47 for one hour of electrical services to have a switch plate changed behind one of our light panel switches.  The electrician was relatively on time, and was able to confirm what the problem was in less than 10 minutes, during which time he voluntarily offered his opinion that the faulty/nicked wiring was the fault of immigrants who do not know how to pay attention to detail.  He said he did not have a switch plate in the van, and that he would go to his next job (during the hour I paid for), pick up the part on the way back to my house, and replace it.  He said the actual replacement would be 20 minutes once he returned.  He called somebody back at his office to ask how to handle the Amazon Local coupon, a conversation I was not privy to.  That took about 10 minutes.  After he got off the phone, he proceeded to tell me that because it will turn into 2 visits, and the coupon is only for 1 visit, he would have to charge me for another hour at their regular rate, which was $76.  I told him I would not pay for a second hour for a job that ultimately takes 30 minutes(10 minutes diagnostic, 20 minutes to replace) by his own estimation simply because he did not have a relatively common part in his van.  Oddly, he then said he may have one in the van after all, after which I reminded him that his van was currently parked in front of my house.  He went to check and came back about 10 minutes later and said he did not have one.  I then told him that I could call the company and talk to somebody about it, and he said it was his call to make.  That did not make sense, because earlier he said he had to call somebody to find out what to do.  I assured him that I was fully prepared to pay for the part, just not the second hour of labor.  He also blamed the person who took our initial phone call, because they did not write down the problem in a way that would lead him to believe it was a problem with the switch.  He then, rather comically in my opinion, said he hopes we use Fox Electric again someday, then left with absolutely nothing fixed.  You can draw your own opinions on whether or not to use this company, but I thought this experience might help some decide.

After notifying the company about the experience described above, the owner/manager was eager to remedy the problem, and did so at my earliest convenience.  They stayed in touch over the weekend and a different technician came to our house early on Monday and finished the job in less than 20 minutes without any further charges other than the needed part.  They followed up with me to make sure I was satisfied, and assured me that the above experience was not reflective of their standards of practice.  Though I obviously cannot say the overall experience was perfect, I felt their follow-up with me was handled well.  As such, I'm bumping up the rating to reflect their efforts to fix the problem.
