Drylux came promptly after one of our water heaters leaked into our walk-in closet and part of our bathroom. They were polite and they removed the wet materials. Then they brought in the machines, several dryers and a big hepa air filter. The leak was very recent and it was cold. Mold did not have the time to expand other than on a rather small surface.
They had to walk thought the master bedroom to install these machines inside the master bathroom and the walk-in closet. These machines were smelly and dirty to the point of no being able to sleep - even with door closed - and getting sick because of the dust and the mold they were covered with. The filter on the hepa filter had been changed, but the machines are not cleaned in between jobs. Who knows on what kind of job these machines have been previously: black mold? All kinds of molds and toxic dusts? Without proper cleaning, the spores are getting transferred to the next house. On the second day, I used kitchen paper and HOCL, a great disinfectant and mold killer, to wipe the machines, and the papers, once after another, came out black. The machines, including the filter, were filthy and smelly.
The two workers came back and forth through the bedroom with their shoes, from a previous job, and taped a plastic runner on the floor only after they passed through several times. The plastic should have been taped first. When they came to remove the machines, they left a large hole in the plastic wall that was going from the bathroom to the outside. Any type of rodent or else could come in. We had to take care of this ourselves, like we had to clean the machines ourselves too.
I have had this type of services twice in other states, so I can compare. It was a crude and sloppy job. When you are dealing with water damaged buildings and mold, you have to be careful with hygiene and mold toxicity. On the previous other jobs, they used booties over their shoes, put plastic runner immediately, and taped the area with a plastic sheet. They also brought clean and non-smelly machines. They ran an air vacuum while they were removing the wet materials.
Drylux is not careful enough with mold and hygiene. I react strongly to mold and I have been sick since they came, and now on heavy doses of anti-histamine and pain killers. I am well aware that they are not doing mold remediation per se, but they should be much more careful with not transferring toxic mold from one house to the next. I am a retired physician and I am educated on the effects of mold on health.
