Dream Builder Renovation

It started with a leak under the kitchen sink and ended with Elvis rebuilding the cabinet under the sink. Another contractor quoted an outrageous price but Elivs came out to talk about what needed to be done and for a bit more than the 1st bid, Elvis did the following:
Rebuilt the cabinet under the sink (including toe kick from dishwasher to fridge)
Painted the inside of the cabinet and the toe kick
Fixed how my dishwasher was installed (you can actually open and close it without moving it around to get the door shut)
Fixed all cracks in drywall in the garage, our house is new and still settling
Replaced the screen on our arcadia door (my cat went through it)
Adjusted the garage door and front door
Fixed the weather stripping on both front and garage doors
Adjusted foot of front door  (we had carpet beetles move in and brought along spiders and scorpions)
It was wonderful working with this company to have not only the kitchen fixed but the other things I wasn't able to do for my home.
I will definitely call them for any other things that pop up!

Elvis did a great job at my home and rental. I will use him in the future. He had timely responses, was friendly, and did what he said.

We had an issue with a leak in our roof that caused some water damage to our ceiling. I reached out on Yelp and Elvis responded very quickly to better understand the issue. He came out the same day to give us a reasonable quote to repair. We decided to go with Dream Builder and were not let down in any way. From their communication to timeliness and overall quality of work they could not have been more professional. We will not hesitate to work with Elvis and Maisa again.

We just moved into a new home in Scottsdale and needed repairs to an electric sliding door in our Kitchen (before we moved in someone had accidentally triggered the door to open while it was still locked and ripped the frame off the wall slightly, along with the tile at the baseboard.

Elvis and Maisa were responsive, he came out that day to look at the job, gave us a reasonable estimate and was back first thing the next morning to fix it. He did a fantastic job, restoring it to brand new and addressing an existing issue we found with the door seal itself. He explained the work he was doing and why he was doing it as he went along.

Finally Elvis is super professional, friendly, knowledgeable about the Scottsdale area and on home renovations (we have some work we'll want to get done once we settle in).

Would not recommend. They abandoned the job and charged too much for too many mistakes. Leaks all over, I had to redo a lot of the work myself and hire a professional to reinstall the shower door.

I will be putting a formal complaint with the AZROC for no license and job abandonment.
Elvis three times told us he was a licensed GC. When you look them up on the AZROC they are nowhere to be found. Definitely not a dream but a horrible nightmare.

Maisa, thank you for your response. The last text I sent Elvis (4/22/22) asking to come finish the job he said he would get back and that had been over a month. He never got back to me.
The piping that we discussed I told Elvis not to do it that way and he did it anyways. Elvis was the one saying it would work, not me or Kelle.

And no I have not paid the rest because again, the job was ABANDONED. When a job is abandoned the job won't get paid.
In everything we discussed through text, in person, and over the phone, it was not completed on your end.

For everyone else considering hiring these scammers, I suggest you ensure the job is under $1,000 as anything over that is illegal without an AZROC license.

I've used a contractor once and it was a complete nightmare. I was terrified that I would have similar issues with Dream Builder Renovation and I'm very pleased to announce that they exceeded my expectations.  The price was very fair for the work I needed completed. Also, the work was completed within the time frame I was originally quoted. Maisa is awesome. She would text me throughout the day letting me know when Elvis would be arriving, what items were completed, what will be completed next and when, along with pics so I could see the progress for myself. I also liked how the work was able to completed without me  being present.
I never had butcher block counter tops before , I only had laminate. I love how Elvis brought to my attention that my butcher blocks were not sealed and he recommended that they be sealed. When I purchased my home, the tile job in my master bath was not very good (if I'm being tact). Elvis cut the tile properly; removed old caulk and applied new caulk. Now my tub looks perfect. I wanted sliding closet doors installed. Elvis picked out perfect doors and installed them. He knew exactly what I wanted which saved me a lot of time from having to get it myself. The original tile in my son's bathtub was also crooked and the tub needed to be resurfaced. Elvis took care of that as well for me. I'm very happy with the work and I look forward to calling Elvis again for future projects.

Excellent service. Elvis came over and did the work within one hour of our first point of contact. He did great - got the parts we needed and installed new door handles on our exterior doors.  The best service at a fair price.

Finally getting around to posting a review. Elvis and his team did a phenomenal job with my shed - from a shell to a comfortable, functional, and pleasant to look at craft room despite the challenges created by the shed provider. Walls, flooring, electrical and water - I  absolutely love it. The patio addition was icing on the proverbial cake.  Very attentive, detail oriented, dependable and trustworthy- definitely recommend and will use again!

Elvis and his team came to our house to do a list of repairs in June 2021. They did some dry wall, grouting, and painting, and some other miscellaneous tasks. The whole thing was supposed to take them two full days, but they did it in one afternoon. It seemed like they rushed through things, but at the time of their departure everything looked good enough (a few things should have been cleaned up better, but overall it was fine). The whole thing cost us around $2500, which was a higher price than some other companies had offered, but worth it for what we hoped would be a high-quality job.

After a few months, the cracks they had fixed were back in the drywall, so we asked Elvis to come back to fix things again. He did it at no additional cost to us. Again, we were mostly happy with the work they did and we appreciated that he came back to fix things.

Now, in January 2022, all of the cracks are back in the drywall and some in the grouting, and the paint job looks very bad (see photos). Overall, it feels like we spent a lot of money and things look just as bad, and in some cases worse, than they had before they came.

My regular handymen were out of town for the holiday. My second option was to use an alternative contractor but they were booked for two months. The third option was to use Dream Builder. They came out, review the list of items, gave us a pricey quote and said they weren't able to start until after the holiday. At that point, I should've said no thank you and wait for our handymen. Instead, we moved forward with Dream Builder.

Overall, they did a poor job. One of the two guys shouldn't be in this business. He didn't know how to sand or stain wood. Both were done against the grain. In addition, he used all the stain as if it was paint. I had to strip it, resand and restain. Oh, money well spent....

As for Elvis, he didn't texture the wall and, when we asked, he told us that it'll look textured once the paint dried. Are you kidding me?! You can see that it's not textured when it's wet.

One positive thing out of this job was finding out a wire was dead so we asked Elvis to ground it to be safe.

After our first review was posted, Elvis contacted us immediately. He came back to finish up the work on our front door. I did want to give kudos to Elvis's employee, he was very polite, courteous and kept his work area clean.

Great quick service, decent price, nice guy.  Would definitely use again.

We have one of those trash cabinets that slide in and out on 18" rails. He seemed like he was in a hurry then said it was the bearings when they were working fine before. He added a little ledge to store trash bags, which was nice, but the trash does not slide in and out and what the problem is he reassembled the box off center. My kids and mom can even open it. I assumed I was paying some $200 to fix my trash and not make excuse and bail when the job isn't done. You can clearly hear wood rubbing, not railing.

Elvis and his teammate Maise were great! I had several bids for my time sensitive project and they were by far the best. They scheduled a next day time with me, showed up on time and estimated the work quickly. The completed workmanship was excellent. They came after hours as I needed my bathroom done quickly before I left to travel. In addition to completing the work they had bid on, they saw a few other quick fixes that would complete my project. They completed those few small things and did not add anything to their final bill.
I own several rental properties and have remodeled all of them, of all the contractors that I have worked with over the years, Dream Builder is one of the best!

Maisa responded to our request immediately to have all the doors re-keyed and squeezed us in on incredibly short notice. Communication with both Maisa & Elvis was extremely smooth and easy. Elvis was super friendly and got the work done very quickly. It's really hard to find a reliable, affordable, and high-quality handyman, but Elvis is an incredible find.

This company is great! They fixed a few holes in my house and did some minor repairs I've needed to have done. They were very easy to make an appointment with and they know their stuff!

Elvis, Maisa, and Yass are great! We have used them twice now and have been impressed at each instance! We will continue to use them for things around the house. Being a first time home buyer it's easy to be scammed by contractors, electricians, roofers- you name it. I wanted to be sure I found someone who was honest, clear and good at what they do. I'm so glad I found that with Elvis and his wife Maisa. From day one they were straight with me on what needed to be done and what they can do within my budget whilst also being super chill people to talk to. They completely went above and beyond and made sure I was involved in the full process and aware of what was being done. Elvis and team were extremely flexible in setting an appointment for the drywall fix.  He showed up early when we were in a pinch and completed the job during the consult visit.  Highly recommend.

They were very friendly and efficient. The cost of the job turned out to be quite a bit more than originally estimated.  I was lead to believe that a set of parts (now that I know what they are) would be more expensive than they are on Home Depot website.  That said, they did come over as soon as they could and fixed the item the next day.  Everything is working fine. So all's good.

A few months back, my wife and I had a dream of building a barn door to close off the entrance to our drafty master bathroom.  I discovered that we homeowners have a huge choice of handyman/contractors, but when the dust settles, there are only a hand full of pros as good as Elvis M., owner of Dream Builder Renovation LLC.  One of Elvis's outstanding qualities, is his honesty and never ending effort to give the project a perfect result, every time!  That's exactly what we ended up with, a beautiful, silky smooth operating BD that gives us a "thrill", every time we walk into our bedroom. Had him replace insert in screen wall from old too busy plastic divider to new plexiglass divider.  He did a great job very particular. He cleaned up afterwards & most important is he showed up on time.  Very professional.

I worked with Elvis directly, I'm very happy to have found him! I had some drain issues in the bathroom that I couldn't myself figure out. Let's just say the man works wonders. I had under the kitchen cabinet lights that were partially done when the person that was doing them had an ou of town emergency. The old fixtures were taken down and the only thing showing was the bare wires. I had already purchased  the new lights but I needed help with the electrical stuff and install the new lights. I called Dream Builders and spoke with Mesa who worked me into their very busy schedule by the next day since I had bare wires hanging out from the wall. Elvis arrived on time and was able to fix the wiring and install the lights without a problem. They were both very knowledgeable and professional and the price was quite reasonable. I fully intend to use this company for future projects and I highly recommend them.

I can't thank dream builder renovation enough for helping me complete my repairs in such a short notice I was in the process of selling my home I needed several things repaired. Not only did they finish it the same day but the owner Elvis made sure he did not leave until everything looks perfect. They replaced toilet in all three bathrooms, repaired duct work on our AC, replaced all of our doorknobs, Repaired our switches and our screen doors all in one day!! I couldn't be any happier with the outcome and timing. Highly recommended!!
