Custom Weed & Pest Control

I used Custom Weed and Pest control several times. They always scheduled me quickly and showed up on time. I wanted an organic option in the backyard, and a chemical in the front and they were able to accommodate. When the weeds came back a bit in the front, they resprayed for no charge. I never required that again. great company to use.

I reached out to Custom Weed after posting my prior review. They were very fast in responding by phone and scheduling a follow up treatment to the property. It was unfortunate that I had to get the weeds trimmed again at an additional cost to keep the HOA happy but things happen. I did feel they were responsive and a company I would recommend. I had a feeling the other good reviews couldn't be lying.

We booked with this company and waited 3 weeks for them to kill our weeds in late March. They came out and treated the area. A week later, the weeds were still there and standing tall so I contacted them. I never heard back. A few weeks after they came, we got an HOA violation because the weeds were still there. I still have not heard back.

Do not waste your time and money with this company.

UPDATE: The owner reached out to me and explained that it takes 3 weeks for the weeds to die, this was in the invoice in small print under one of the line items. He felt that they did kill the weeds based on my photos, and apologized for their lack of response but I just wish his team would've responded so I had a better idea of the expectations. From the other reviews here, it seems like they do a good job of killing weeds but need to work on their communication and expectation setting.

Over 2 acres sprayed

Joe arrived on Thursday morning as scheduled and went right to work spraying our half acre of weeds.  He finished quickly and let us know that within a week the weeds would be dead.  Per Murphy's Law, we had rain later that afternoon as well as the next day, but here we are only 4 days later and everything is dead!!  So happy it all worked as planned because the company lets you know that there is no refund for rain.  Whatever product was used got the job done.  Would definitely hire them again should the need arise.

I have used this company for several years.  They are very professional and their prices are reasonable.  I think what I love most is their guarantee.

This company used to take care of both our weeds and our pests. they just simply stopped coming out and the last time they out was in April, and was for the pest control. They did the weeds around Feb, and they used a different tech . we were disappointed with the work. Probably better companies out there.

Have used them multiple times now to handle our weeds and it's been a breeze. Only had pop ups weeds a couple times and they came out and took care of them. My yard is so much easier to manage now. Quick, affordable and quality results.

Found Custom Weed & Pest after going through the wringer for WEEKS with our usual (now former) landscaping company to actually give us a date for pre-emergent services we agreed to.

While it's obviously too early to review how well the pre-emergent worked, we could NOT be happier with how easy, professional and simple working with Custom Weed was. Communication was absolutely clear and everything went down exactly as expected which seems to be something other companies we've used in the past struggle with.

A phone call was given the day prior to services to confirm the time window of arrival. The gentleman who came out to spray arrived 4 minutes early even! He was polite, smiling and professional.

Honestly? This is what I was hoping for. So relieved to have found them!

We had some bad weeds show up after it rained and I wanted them gone.  I found Custom Weed and Pest Control through a quick Google search.  I called them and quickly asked how everything works.  The price was right and they were out a couple of days later.  They treated my front and back yard and that was it.  They came by while I was at work so I didn't even see them.  But, I knew they were there because, within two days, the weeds were starting to die and dry up.  It didn't take long for the rest of them.  

That first treatment lasted a full year.  The next year, around the same time, I called them again and had another treatment.  This time, it lasted about four months before some additional weeds showed up, but I gave them a call and they came back out and treated them again -- no charge, part of their warranty -- and both the front and back yard have been clear since.

If you're like me and you don't want the hassle of pulling or spraying weeds, then give these guys a call and you won't have to worry about it.  They get the job done quickly and efficiently.

On a side note, I don't personally know anyone at CW&PC and they didn't give me or pay me anything for this review.  I just truly appreciate it when a service company does what they say they're going to do and stands by it.  I've dealt with far too many other companies that can't pass muster.

Showed up when they said they would, did a thorough job and the cost was reasonable.

2 years ago I bought a backpack sprayer to kill the weeds.  Unfortunately, I seemed to be out there (we have an acre) every weekend because in Arizona every time it rains even a tiny bit, weeds pop up.  Love the rain, hate the weeds.  I could not keep up.  I called Custom Weed, and in a few days the weeds were dead and disintegrating.  I call them every year now, and the results are fabulous.  I think they spray weeds for everyone on our street.  The techs are courteous, and they are careful around bushes and trees.

Wow! Awesome service! I would recommend this company any day. They took care of the weeds in my yard effortlessly! No dyes in the spray either!

I have 2 acres with a lot of natural desert vegetation that has to be sprayed around to stop weed germination. Custom Weed & Pest Control does an outstanding and very thorough job! They have sprayed our property in November for the last 3 years and I have NO PROBLEM WITH WEEDS AT ALL! Highly recommend!

This company is great. I did  a lot of shopping around before I chose them. Great customer service, come out to do the work in a timely manner and on time. They do every bit of the yard. I had my landscaper do the weeds but since I call to have them come out only when I need them, the weeds were getting out of hand. Custom Weed did exactly what they promised and include a warranty. Also big bonus that after about two hours you can let your pet(s) out and it is safe for them. I never had my pup get sick. The price of their service was excellent compared to the other comparable companies I researched to do this job, Thumbs up no weeds!

Custom weed and pest does an excellent job.  Use them for twice a year for preemergent yard treatment.  Not a weed in sight.  They are easy to work with and on time.

I used them for their weed spray service about a year and a half ago. Even though they only say their weed spray will last for 6 months, it actually lasted a year and a half for me! Totally worth the $110. I am going to definitely be using them again!

Found them and initiated communication via Yelp.  Ryan was prompt to respond and was really helpful and patient with all of my questions.  After our new backyard landscaping went in we hired to them spray pre/post emergent and they're scheduled to come back out for warranty spray (we had a bad case of spurge!)

Ryan and his staff are customer focused and a pleasure to work with.  They're communication is excellent and they are really accommodating with giving us a on our way call so we can bring the dogs in the house.

I must admit that I was initially inclined to first contact another company I found on the web.  I'm grateful, the company never responded.  

I found Custom Weed & Pest Control, contacted them, we scheduled and the Customer Service of the Technician was spot on!

With the heavy rain fall in the area, the weeds were trying to take over my yard and I wanted to avoid receiving any reminders from the HOA......

Great customer service and their pre-emergent absolutely works. Hired them after we moved into our new place in Feb of 2020, not one weed for an entire year and just had them treat again in April. Great value and will be hiring every year.

When I moved to Phoenix a few years ago, a friend recommended this company for weed prevention. They came out each spring and sprayed my yard and I never saw a single weed the entire time I lived in my rental property. This year I purchased a home and Custom Weed & Pest Control came out and sprayed the yard about six weeks ago. The gentleman that came out was so efficient that I couldn't believe he sprayed the entire yard. Well, while there's an abundance of weeds in my neighbor's yard, but not a single weed in mine. These guys are exceptional!!!

This company is really great to deal with.   They spray our yard each spring and fall and we just have had zero weeds anywhere ever since.    Well worth what they charge.   I highly recommend them

I just wanted to update my original review.  After writing about my frustration regarding service being performed at my property without my consent, Ryan, the owner, called me to speak about my experience.  He was cordial and professional, and sincerely wanted to make things right and learn about what went wrong.  He explained that there was a scheduling blunder that led to my experience and he squarely took the blame.  I found this to be a very stand-up thing to do.  The work they did on the weeds in our gardens is fantastic, and I let him know about that.  I will certainly be continuing using their services again - I can't really say I'd feel the same if he hadn't personally reached out to me.

I have used this company 3 times now for weed control. I have been very pleased. They stand behind their work and will come back out should you see weeds within the guarantee time frame. Along with the wonderful rain we've been having also come all the weeds. We had our front and back yards sprayed in March. My neighbors have tons of weeds in their yards. We don't have a single weed  I will continue to use this company and recommend them to people.

Was looking for someone to help with the weed invasion we experienced this summer in the East Valley. My job was a small residential lawn and there weren't too many were that interested in helping me.

I contacted Ryan for a quote and he was very quick to respond, answered all of my questions and his price was more than fair. We messaged back and forth a bit and although I ended up rescheduling until the fall, I'll definitely use them when we are ready. I can already tell that this is a company that understands customer service!

I used Custom Weed and Pest Control about six years ago at a rental.  I needed their services again at the same rental.  For $110 they sprayed the small weeds in the front and back yard.  Within a few days, all were dead.  I asked them to come a respray about a week later due to new weeds.  They said the growth was grass and they could not prevent it's growth.  However they resprayed anyway.   Customer service was excellent and they stand behind their product.

I am very happy with Custom Weed. & Pest, Control found them thru NextDoor per another review.  They are reasonable. Schedule was within a week and they kill bugs! I can't rave enough!  Great job!

I've been looking for someone to help me evaluate and deal with my yard.  That is, I don't want someone to just cut my grass and fertilize when they think they're supposed to.  Custom Weed & Pest Control seems like the company that I need.  So far, they've been great with customer service, response time, and the evaluations that I've received have been thorough and were provided by someone that was able to talk at a higher level than most landscapers.  I know that I can't expect instant results with my lawn, but I'm hopeful that I'll eventually get what I want.

This crew did a fantastic job with pest and weed prevention treatments for me for over a year and a half. The exterminators were friendly and always explained what was involved in all their treatments.  On two occasions when I noticed a few extra weeds they would come out the next day to treat the weeds. I moved out of the area, but I won't hesitate to use them again.

Wow, just wow. We had major weeds in our yard after the rains and quickly called Custom Weed. The yelp reviews have it right, these guys are amazing. The  pre-emergent spray controls weeds for so long you forget you had them in the first place.

I highly recommend this company, their professionalism and quality work can't beat.

I appreciate how quickly they were able to schedule and treat for weeds. I have 0.6 acres of irrigated lawn. Other companies wanted me to wait until a truck was in the area, which would have been into March.  Custom Weed scheduled me within two weeks of my call. They were more expensive than others I spoke with for the same treatment, but Custom Weed warrantees their work. The others did not. If for some reason my weeds insist on growing three weeks from now, Custom Weed will re-treat. The warranty is good for three months. In the business of weeds, that is many lifetimes and worth the extra $40.

I tried to contact several other weed control services to no avail. Could not get a return email nor call. I phoned Custom Weed & Pest Control and received a reply within the hour. Had a quote that same day.,once I scheduled the appointment, they kept me apprised along the way. Weeds were sprayed within a week, online billing was a snap. If you want quality and reliability, give them a call.

This company is AMAZING! Never have any weeds @ all & if for some reason some pop up they come out and spray again! Our neighbors have to pull weeds every week & we just sit back & watch.

Ryan is a pompous jerk that does not know how to follow simple directions. I am sick of working with companies that dont live by my simple motto... do what you say your going to do.

(Hi Teresa, appreciate being called a pompous jerk. Thats a first in my life. I'm sick with a high temp and pulled myself together to come down to the appointment time. My head isn't clear so I didn't remember to call ahead. So my apologies for that. Best of luck to you) Tonight, hours later he posted a response (below) insinuating that I was rude to him.  Laughable. I was jovial, shook your hand and just made mention that the vendor before you did the same thing by not following instruction.  You didn't like it and left. It is not all about you Ryan.  When a customer who works from home and is on calls all day and request not to ring the door bell AND YOU AGREE, the expectation should be that.  If you are that thin skinned or your man cold turns you into a frail, immature adolescent, maybe you should consider staying home and don't come back to work until you understand what taking responsibility means.

This team really gets it done. Probably the best part is they return within a couple weeks to spray what may have been missed or didn't quite get enough chemicals. Have never had a problem with them and do not call other companies for competitive bid. Top notch!

They sprayed my yard about 18 months ago.  Per terms of their agreement, they'll come back out and re-spray if you start seeing weeds within a certain time frame.  Well, I ended up having to have them come back out twice, but not because they initially did a bad job.  It turns out the weeds that were reappearing are considered broadleaf and not included in their guarantee because they're virtually impossible to eliminate.  While a bit frustrating, this wasn't their fault because the terms of their agreement state this... and yet they came back out to spray without any hassle whatsoever twice.  The third time I told them the weeds were back they asked for a picture of the weed, at which point they identified the weed for me and, sure enough, it wasn't part of the guarantee.  As for the rest of the weeds?  Not only did we have no trouble last year, but we had no trouble THIS year either, despite all the rain.  In sum, great product backed by great customer service. Will hire again when (if??? lol) the other weeds come back.

Custom weed and pest control are great! They set up your appointment immediately and are very easy to work with. I usually get my yard serviced in April and it last all year maybe with a few weeds sneaking out. Oh did I mention the service is guaranteed!! I will keep using them and you should too.

Best money spent!! I try to stay on top of the weeds in my yard but unfortunately with all of the rain, they took over. I called Custom Weed & Pest Control. They responded incredibly fast, set up an appointment within a couple days and 4 days later... my weeds are dead. I couldn't be happier with the service and I will definitely be using them in the future to keep the weeds at bay. They are prompt, friendly and efficient. Highly recommend!

I really hope they took some before pictures of my horrendous yard! These last few months have been a nightmare for us when it comes to weeds. My yard looked like a scene out of Jumanji or Jurassic Park. Weeds almost 5 ft high that looked like they could kill you if you messed with them. Oh, but mess with them we did...we pulled...and pulled...and pulled...then we tried weed killer off the self at HomeDepot. The weeds? They laughed and laughed, and thrived and thrived. Finally we reached our breaking point and did a yelp search for anyone who could possibly help. Our yard was sprayed Thursday, front and back. The weeds are shriveling up and drying out in no time. I could truly cry, I am so happy and relieved. You don't realize how much of an issue weeds can truly be until they control every free minute of your life. The money spent, was great - if you added up the time I was spending and the cost of crappy chemicals, this service was a steal! In addition to the fact that the chemicals they used worked miracles, this company is full of great communicators. Our email communication was prompt, the services were well explained. On the original day of scheduled service we had rain. They looped me in and kept me posted on when they could get back out to get the job done. I highly recommend this service! Leave this stuff up to the professionals! We will use again!

Wow. Found this company on yelp. Asked for a quote for some weed abatement. Company responded with a dollar amount. I responded great let's do it. They said we are booking now! I said how about Friday! No response! Friday comes I ask what happen! I get a response that I did not make an appointment. I told no one responded and here we are today! No response! No thanks I'll take my business elsewhere.

I recently began services with Custom Weed and Pest and am very happy with the results. Their customer service was great, showed up as scheduled and the young man doing the service was very professional and explained what he was going to do before the service began.  I have recommended them to a couple of friends as well.

Yup the hype is justified.  They rock.  I've gone round and round with landscapers... Had that weird stressful expectations not being met and needing to ask them to fix their work or switch to another company thing -- all while paying 100 a month or so and...

Great service. We have 1/4 acre lot and with working 2 jobs I didn't have the time to fight the battle against the weeds in our front and back yard. Called Custom Weed & Pest Control to setup an appointment and afterwards it took about 2 weeks for the weeds to wilt away. Our yard looks great again and I love the 6 month warranty. We will definitely use this company again at the end of our warranty.

I am SO HAPPY this was recommended to me. They came and sprayed and I couldn't be happier. I have recently had to pull some
Crabgrass but not near as much as before. Totally worth every penny spent. I WILL keep it up.

Love this company! They show up when they are scheduled too and they are very nice and friendly. Also their product really does work!! I was picking weeds for about an hour a week until i was referred to them by a friend and now i feel like i got part of my life back!

This service did not work at all, my back yard continues to look like a jungle, despite being sprayed 2x. The weeds were back within a week both times thus voiding their 6month guarantee of no weeds. I gave them 2 stars only because the small amount of weeds in my front yard did die.

Update: the business contacted me we had some miscommunication on the spraying and it was cleared up. They came out and resprayed and everything is fine.

Ryan is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I work community management and he has been servicing a few of my communities through my landscape contractor for years. I recently had the pleasure of meeting Ryan in person to inspect one of my properties which is battling a large weed issue. Ryan was prompt and took his time walking the entire community explaining the issues and his recommendations.

Custom Weed and Pest Control did a fabulous job of clearing our yard of spring weeds. We kept getting dinged by our HOA for weeds in the rocks of our yard so we called Custom Weed And Pest Control to help us out. They returned my call promptly and set up AZ n appointment within a short time frame. The treatment only took a few minutes and we haven't seen a weed since. We are very happy with Custom Weed and Pest Control, and recommend them highly.

What can I say --- they made difficult circumstances easy.  I've been self-quarantining for weeks now, but could see the weeds were making their move even if I hadn't been out of the house for a while.  I was able to schedule an appointment with one of their techs, who made it a point to ring my doorbell just to let me know he had arrived.  A short time later I paid with my trusty credit card --- all without leaving the security of my home.  Thanks so much for working with me on this!

My yard has never looked better.   The weeds are gone and the plants are thriving.   And I know that,  if the weeds rear their ugly heads again,  all I need to do is call and Custom Weed & Spray will be back to finish them off.

The best money I spend every six months. I was originally skeptical that they sprayed anything at all since I wasn't home when they came but I just experienced 6 months absolutely free of weeds. Previously, I had tried spraying Roundup myself and that was a pain and never really helped with future weeds. I am 100% happy to not be pulling weeds in my yard every weekend.

Our weeds on 1+ acre were out of control after the rain last summer. After a recommendation from a neighbor, we called custom weed & Pest Control. They made scheduling easy and they were professional and friendly. They have even been great about checking back in afterwards to make sure our yard is still doing well.

First time using West Coast Pest Control.  They responded quickly to my request for a quote, were able to come within two days - I found a scorpion in the house so I wanted someone rather quickly :), and were extremely thorough.  Knowledgeable, friendly, accommodating, thorough, and fairly priced.  What more could you ask for?  I will definitely be using West Coast Pest Control going forward.

I have been using them for weed control for the last 10 years or so. Their prices have always been fair and they do a great job. They have done my last 3 properties ranging from an acre to 2.5 acres and I never have to deal with weeds.

I recently did my backyard over at the beginning of the summer.  I hired a landscaping company to do the work.  They had received high ratings on Angie's List.   They finished the job and everything was going well for the most part and then I noticed the several of the vines, plants and trees starting to wilt or die.  I call the original landscaper back and he was slow to response and then offered little or no explanation as to what the problem was or how to correct it.  He promised to get back to me, but I wasn't confident in his knowledge or ability, even if he did get back to me.  

I had little knowledge or experience myself in taking care of my newly improved backyard.  Rather than letting the plants die or continue to wither, I started searching for someone to help.  I looked on Angie's List but only found companies that installed landscaping, but none that would help in maintaining, especially for landscaping they didn't install.  

I was getting frustrated and starting to lose hope when I discovered We Kill Weeds on Yelp.  I sent them an email late one night, and the next morning I had a response waiting for me in my inbox.  Ryan contacted me and told me he could come out to assess the situation.  We set a time/date and he showed up promptly to my house at that time.  (He even called me on my cell phone when he arrived, rather than knocking on the door or ringing the bell, due to the early time of the morning he arrived.)

I was really impressed with Ryan's knowledge, professionalism and patience.  He spent the better part of an hour examining the different plants and explaining the reasons for the stress or problems the plants were having.  He promised to email me a summary of his findings, including solutions I could do to fix the problems or offering his services.   I was blown away that he took the time to send me things that I could do without hiring him.  

At this point, I didn't want to take any chances and risk losing any plants, so I hired We Kill Weeds (Ryan) to treat my plants.   We set a day/time for him to come out and he arrived promptly and took the time to show me what he was going to do and what chemicals he was going to apply.   He did a great job and I found his rates to be very reasonable for the service and experience he was providing.  

Needless to say, I would highly recommend him to anyone for your landscaping needs.

I've stayed with this company now for over a year because they do a great job! They take care of pest control for us & if we ever need extra spraying done they come out promptly to take care of the issue.

Custom Weed and Pest Control is amazing.  They have friendly staff and are worth every cent.  I spray once a year around the front and back.  Tara and her family have an exceptional service and they back their warranty.  I used them when I first moved here. Then I forgot their name and used someone else who killed 2 of my bushes.  I got an email from Custom Weed and Pest Control last year and had them come out again and I'm very pleased with their service.  I'll continue to use them in the future.

I had several stubborn weeds in my lawn, Oxalis weed which looks like 3 leaf shamrock clovers that sprout a yellow flower and Poa grass which people call crab grass. It took two separate trips for each weed type and they only charged me the initial charge as they advertise a one year warranty. I even offered to pay more but they wouldn't take it. Dave in the office is very professional and they definitely know their weeds. My lawn is flawless now with no weeds and bright green. I'd say 20% of my lawn was weeds prior this wasn't a simple task. The company did a good job of getting out large weeds and stray grass that the regular gardener said was too difficult.  Not for this company &   their price was reasonable.

They do monthly and sometimes bi-monthly service at my commercial building, depends on climate and the time of the year.    I don't even have to schedule it as they check the building intermittently on their own schedule and do the service in their own professional discretion.  I've never had to worry about weed growth and the rates are very reasonable. They have won my trust 100%.  Highly recommended for any commercial landlord or for residential maintenance.

Thank goodness for yelp. Helped me find this company. Came right out to spray Bermuda grass and then came BACK out about a week later for no charge because there was still grass coming up. Excellent communication and very friendly. Got the job done, reliable, honest and quick. What more could you ask for??

I had gotten the name of this company from a very close friend of mine. She suggested but I use them for the emergent weed spray in the beginning of the year in order to avoid fines in the HOA. They did a fantastic job and all the weeds on my large parcel of this property died and have not returned. While I was on the phone scheduling this appointment I just happened to ask if they did pest control for bugs. They did and they were extremely reasonably priced for both the weed and the pest control services. They are punctual and on time and never rush through the job. They make sure that they are thorough and complete before they leave your premises. I truly would not use anyone else. I have recommended these folks for both services as I have had absolutely no problems after the services.

I sent these guys an email after the another company with more ratings on Yelp dropped the ball in getting back to me.

These guys were quick to get back to me over email and followup and came by quickly and took the time to explain to me what to expect and their prices are great. Next year/six-months, when my weeds come back, I'm going to make sure I give them a call again.

I was initially very happy with the excellent customer service.  I had (and still continue to have) problems with sproutlings from a Sumac tree that was cut down several years ago.  Sproutlings started popping up all throughout my landscaped backyard (within the grass, the rocks and even competing with some of my plants). Weed and Feed was at my house promptly. They said this might continue to be a problem but really didn't offer any solutions. They went ahead and sprayed some type of herbicide and left. 90 bucks and a few months later, the root suckers started re-sprouting. It's been over a year or two now and I'm still having problems, making my backyard situation a nightmare. I wish Custom Weed and Spray could have at least offered further advice or even ongoing maintenance solutions.

Custom Weed and Pest Control is great, we just moved into a new house and they have taken care of all of our pest control needs. They came out to spray to yard, and then to spray the inside then again to take care of a Bee issues. They were very thorough and helpful and attentive every time I call or see a bug. They spray for weeds for us about once a year, and it always lasts through the monsoons and we don't have to call again until the following spring. I am new to Arizona and went out of town for a month over the Thanksgiving holiday.  I came home to a large amount of weeds in my newly landscaped yard and was shocked that they grew so fast.  I contacted Custom Weed & Pest control based on all the positive reviews on Yelp and they were able to send someone out right away.  Paul just left my house, he sprayed all areas where weeds could be a problem and explained that everything was guaranteed for 6 months and to call if any weeds came back.  He was very nice and I could not be happier with the service, just wish I had found them before the weeds started.  I would highly recommend them to anyone that has problems with weeds or to anyone that wants to prevent weeds from starting.  It is such a pleasure to deal with a company that stands by their work, something that seems to be uncommon these days.

After all the rain this year (and the thought of last years 3 acres worth of weeds on my 1 acre lot)  I decided to save myself the hassle of pulling a million weeds and gave these guys a call.  Much to my surprise they were reasonably priced so I set an appointment.  They were super punctual, very professional, and had more knowledge about weeds than I thought possible.  Even though they wouldn't let me romp their golf-cart around I'm still giving them 5 stars.  I would be in serious weed-hell right now if it weren't for them.  Now I can sit back and laugh at my neighbors and their giant weeds...

Ants!  Ants!  Ants seemed to be everywhere!  I tried all the usual home remedies I could think of but for 3 days straight I would find a line of ants from the front door of my salon to a certain trash can located right under my tea station.  Not good, not good at all.  I called pretty late in the work world, around 7 pm but I was able to wrangle an appointment for the next morning.  The were able to squeeze me in around 10:30 and I haven't had a problem since.  They even gave me extra ant traps, no extra charge.  I will be using them again for all my spraying needs.  Thanks guys!

These guys are fantastic. I've been using them for about three years now. When I was first searching everyone seemed so high priced and then I found these guys the rate was nearly half of what other companies wanted to charge me. I gave them a shot and i've always been satisfied with the companies work. 6 month guarantee, kills the weeds every time and I don't see them for another 6-7 months.
