November 6. I reached out to custom plumbing through Thumbtack a new app for home repairs and maintenance providers. I explained to them I needed my RO filters changed and wondered if they could have a tech come out and look at that for me , they sent Craig out the very next day Monday November 7 . He looked at it told me I have an old RO system and that my filters would have to be ordered. He couldn't just go pick them up or something I said OK he was going to get them to come back the next day. For this it will cost me $679.98 at which I need to pay 1/2 $339.99 which I do pay the 1st day. So he comes back the next day, brings the filters changes them ,when he called me and told me that it was done. I asked him I said, please turn on the faucet on the RO and see if it still is at a dribble if so, it did not fix my problem, he said no it didn't fix it, you still have no water coming out. I asked him well what are we gonna do about this? I said I know it's an old system. How are we going to get this to work, he suggested getting a new Ro I could buy it from Home Depot @ $216. Sent me a pic of what to buy, I do and it's at the house for him to change , it's now the 3rd day when he changes the old RO he then discovers a leak which he had never discovered the two previous days which I find it amazing that he never discovered but now he's discovered a leak and he needs to have his team of specialist for leaks and mold issues to take a look at it, and his company is liable and they need to determine whether or not they need to dry this out professionally. I ask what that's gonna cost? He assures me that it is free to myself. He then asked me who I have my homeowners insurance with, and what my deductible is? I proceeded to tell him that I was not going to file a claim no matter what he found, and that I would sign a waiver of liability, releasing his company from any responsibility. I am taking my own risks, but he was welcome to have his team out if he would like to do so. So then another group of gentlemen show up and they come in take a look. He asked me again about my deductible , they told me because I have a block home. There's no mold issue I said well what a relief. They all stand underneath my camera on my carport and then begin discussing with this rookie Craig that he has to be careful because the insurance adjusters for these insurance companies are sending someone out immediately to check on these plumbers who are insisting that this work to be done I have three videos of this discussion ,that's why the homeowners insurance companies feel like they need to send someone out immediately to look at this kind of stuff, because of these crooks up charging services, so now I'm three days in I have purchased my own RO I now have water that works out of my water filtration device! Then I get a invoice for a additional $800+ on top of the $339, which I already paid. So I pay that, I have some previous water damage to my kitchen cabinet from a previous leak, and so my son came toward the end of the month to fix , then we discovered a leak under the cabinet, we call Craig and ask him if he can come and fix this as my new RO should've had Teflon tape put on it to keep it from leaking, but it did not ( he claimed your not supposed to have to put Teflon tape on it) well he didn't and now I hope he knows he should anyway, I wouldn't know if it was recommended for him to put Teflon tape on that fitting because when he left, he took my box & my warranty information with him to my new RO . He didn't wanna come out that day, to fix it, and he suggested that we call the dispatcher so we called the dispatch, and they suggested they could come out in a day or two, we then told them about the videos that we had where their company was trying to screw homeowners. They then decided that he could come out that night and fix this properly as he should've done in the first place. So then he came out, drained it put the Teflon tape on the fitting like he should've in the first place I went in and took a look at it while he was doing this. He had sprayed water all over my kitchen and decided to just leave it so I start cleaning up the water, after I got the water cleaned up & I got the water cleaned up underneath the cabinet to ensure if there was another leak that I would see it, he then handed me a invoice where he waved $189 more for him coming out to fix this because he was doing me such a favor. I thought that was very nice of him considering that he should've done this shit correctly the first time, and so then he asked me to write him a review so Craig and all of you at Custom plumbing I will not recommend you, nor will I ever use you again, and I have these videos for any of your management that would like to see them by all means reach out to me! So if you want a BS company give these fine folk a call! Hope this helps if you read reviews before calling a company for service!
