Cabinets by C & F

I am pleased to recommend Cabinets by C&F.  I am also pleased that my kitchen remodel is done, and the cabinets look beautiful!

I was referred to Kas White by a friend.  Kas designed, ordered, and oversaw the cabinets for my friend's kitchen remodel.  She said Kas really knows the business and provides a high-quality product at a reasonable price.

I agree.  I recently gutted and remodeled the 1975 kitchen in my 1934 house.  I had never been through a project as extensive as a kitchen.  Kas guided me through the process.  She designed a kitchen that is functional, balanced and, well, just darn pretty.  And affordable.  

Kas and her husband, Dennis, came to the house three times to measure and re-measure.  Their work was spot-on.  The cabinets fit exactly.

Did I mention the drawer inserts and the mixer lift?  Who knew the spice drawer insert and the shelf that tucks away your heavy Kitchen Aid mixer could make life so much easier?  Not me.  Kas figured out what I needed most and the accessories to meet those needs.

Kas also answered my many questions promptly.  She made helpful suggestions about other features in the kitchen to complement the cabinets such as the right sink (farmhouse stainless) and handles (chrome) - all perfect for my more-traditional-slightly-eclectic taste.  Her employees, namely Jamie, are also excellent.  Very attentive to detail.  As luck would have it, on the last trip, a cabinet front was dinged accidentally.  Kas had been informed right away and ordered a new front before I even got home from work that day.

Kas knows her products and how to make them shine.  She grew up in the business which she and Dennis then acquired several years ago.  She knows so much that it is sometimes like drinking from a firehouse, but that is far preferable than the expert who fails to communicate.  

I have a kitchen to enjoy for a long time thank in part to Kas.

I must say I would give them 10 stars if I could.  The first time I meet Dennis at the show room and he talked to me about what I wanted and the things I was hoping to have in my kitchen.
Then they book appointment to come out to my home.  Then they could see what a strange shape kitchen I had.  This did not stop Kas, she came up with a great design.  Each time I felt I was face with a problem Kas came up with answer and help me with  solving the problems.

They are custom made cabinets and when the cabinets come they all fit in great and not a problem with the fit.  It went faster then I anticipated and the quality of the all wood cabinets is only one word PHENOMENAL.

Everyone that has  been in my home just can not believe how great my kitchen looks. Thanks so very much Kas for making this remodel go so easy and  beyond my hopes.

They do a great job of selling you with their high-end showroom in the high-end locale of old-town Scottsdale.  However once the contract is signed and after they've received 100% of the payment after delivery (not installation), their attention clearly goes elsewhere and you're left working nearly another full time job to attempt to keep them honest on their committments.

After experiencing a previous cabinet install that went horribly wrong (in which we went through the AZ ROC and received a settlement), we were hopeful C&F would be the complete opposite experience for us.  Unfortunately as life cycle of the contract played out, I began to think this is just something you are forced to deal with in the cabinet industry.  

1) we were given an install date 2 weeks in advance so we could ensure everything was demo'd and cleared prior to install.  Once we demo'd, we received a call from our install contact that she screwed up the date by one month - leaving us without a kitchen for a full month while my wife was pregnant!  Other than a box of chocolates offered as an apology, we were given nothing in return.  It took me talking to Dennis and ASKING him for a temporary kitchen to be placed in as a short-term solution.  No solution was offered by him, just an I'm sorry.

2) They offered to do a free demo for us in order to close the deal - well in demo'ing the bathroom and removing our old countertop they damaged a pipe that caused a slow leak - not noticed at the time of the demo.  Our installer told us it needed to be fixed prior to setting the cabinets in, so I was forced to pay out of pocket.  Logic would lead me to believe that C&F would accept responsibility - however their response was 'well we gave you a free demo'.  So really, it turned out to be a $265 demo for us.  They never reimbursed me nor did they even attempt to meet half way.

3) We are nearly 3 months post-install and still have issues with our cabinets.  Our installer and main contact left the company recently and we are now forced to work with C&F owners to get issues resolved.  After having paid 100% of the contract value, it's mind-boggling to think that we would still be waiting for work to be completed.  

I suppose this may just be the 'way of life' in the cabinet industry, but it's truly maddening when it carries on for months on end.  Just be prepared for the worst if you are doing a remodel that involves new cabinets, C&F or otherwise.

I wanted to say that the customer service given by Dennis and Kas from Cabinets by C & F is some of the very best in the industry! I work for a luxury appliance manufacture and I recommend them every day or the week!!

I want to give a positive review for this company and Kas. They were utilized (through a company hired to remodel my house) for replacement of my kitchen cabinetry and did a fantastic job. Measurements were spot on, which allowed for easy installation. I was able to get the cabinets I wanted at an afforded price. My kitchen looks great. To this end, I personally used the when I remodeled my bathroom. I have to say, Kas went WAY ABOVE AND BEYOND the call of duty in getting my vanities ordered and installed. I couldn't be happier. I truly recommend this company for anyone considering a remodel of kitchen, bathroom or closet.

Had a complete kitchen design by C&F to the tune of $15k. It came out beautifully in the end but full installation took over a month due to the cabinets coming damaged from the manufacturer and the handles being installed poorly and falling off. Most annoying though was that the designer from C&F didn't properly build the cabinets to hold the Ceasarstone countertops we had always planned on using. We ended up having to contract out a separate steelmaker to make a custom piece to place underneath the counters for an extra $1000. When we asked C&F if they could help take care of the cost of this unforeseen expense due to their design flaw, the owner of C&F just defended the designer and took no responsibility for the mistake. Very disappointing customer service experience with them overall.

I purchased all my kitchen and bathroom cabinets from C & F when I remodeled my home.  Everything was pretty good until I had a warranty claim.  They had a falling out with the manufacturer and I was trapped in the middle.  We are indeed working it out and C & F is trying to get this fixed but the manufacturer is not willing to do much of anything to support the cause. It has taken some persistence but the owner will work to try to make it right.

I cannot say enough good things about this company.  First of all, you would expect a local business to be more expensive than a big box, but no, their bid came in less!  Kas, the owner, personally worked with me for several weeks designing the perfect kitchen for me.  Her input was right on about everything and she worked dilligently to put everything into the kitchen that I needed and wanted, sometimes offering alternatives that saved me quite a bit of money and that I would have never known about.  The installers were timely, neat, quick, and experienced.  This company also has a shop so if a modification is necessary they can do it, again, something NOT available from a big box store. and also helps make sure your price on countertops is competitive.  Kas and Dennis, her husband and co-owner, also show up at the installation to check on the progress and to make sure everything is perfect. I will be doing another kitchen in my other home in northern AZ soon and Kas and C&F will certainly be my business of choice to do my kitchen.  I want to LOVE that kitchen as much as the one I already did.
