These guys are just pure class.
I was calling everybody after the ice storm trying to get a section of pipe repaired. I get it, lots of people have needs after an ice storm,  so I'm not mad about that at all. What was surprising was the hiked up prices I was seeing as far as quotes go. Seemed a bit opportunistic to me.

Sewer Friendly was fast, could come out quickly, and charged a fair price. They also gave me some tips about future work I will need in the future, which was very welcomed.

I can't recommend them enough and will be using them in the future for sure.

This is a trustworthy team that knows the in-and-out about sewer line. Clean work, great ethics, care about the clients and the issue, no nonsense. I highly suggest them!!

We had an external sewer line issue for a couple of years now for an old rental property. We had worked with plumbing companies that would come in jet line for tree roots intrusion but unable to solve the problem for longer term.

It was until we get in touch with Sewer Friendly that I sensed we were finally going toward the right direction. Peter was the estimator and he really digged to the bottom of the issue without me asking, told us where he suspected the issue was and how things were constructed 70 years back that could have caused the issue. Their quote was reasonable and offered 10 years warantee for their work.

The crew was great as well, after the work, Robert explained to us thier findings and everthing made sense of what happened for the past few years. He also left us several tips for long term maintenance.

This is truly a great company to work with and my learning here: do not call a plumbing company for external sewerline work.

Robert, Rick and their team are very knowledgeable and friendly. They walked me through my entire sewer backup problem, they were never pushy or salesman, they actually cared about my problem and gave you all the data to decide how to better fix it, even if I didn't hire them.

They looked at a sewer backup and made a quote to dig and fix. No hidden fees or charges for them coming in and inspecting with their camera! I'm amazed. I will use this company to fix my problem and update this later but I'm very confident they will fix my sewer perfectly.

If they cannot fix your problem they will try to make it right. I had a problem
They made it out to me right away unfortunately the problem was outside the scope of work they do. I was not charged . The owners took care to reach out to me and make sure it got fixed.

We had them come out for waterline leak and making a waterway on the concrete slab on the side of the building. Long story short, while doing the work, they had to change their plan because of the quirks of the building. While it was still effective, I felt the effectiveness would be lessened.  I contacted the office and later Rick called me back with the explanation of the situation.  He offered a new estimate for complete removal of concrete and complete solution to the problem, noting that it would cost more.  He also offered full refund for the downpayment that I had made.  I appreciate his understanding of my hesitancy and holding customer's satisfaction is our priority true.

The folks at Sewer Friendly guided us through a very tricky situation in replacing a failing sewer connection to the city main.

Additionally, they discovered that it was a shared connection with our neighbor. They helped us prove this fact to our skeptical neighbor, and then stuck by us through the long drawn out process as we contacted the city of Seattle to prove our case to that neighbor.

Sewer Friendly also handled all of the city permitting for the replacement work, managed the flaggers etc, and generally made that part super easy for us.

Really professional group over there.
Would recommend in a heartbeat.

Quick response, fair price given up front and no up-selling. Devon was a great guy. Very polite. Shared about the process all the way. Loved how he enjoys his job - enthusiastic about each success along the way. Could tell he cared most about our well-being and doing a top-notch job.

We had a smelly shower drain issue so we scheduled an appointment online to have them check out what the cause of the smell.
They came out on time, ran camera thru drain and sewer line to see any problems. They found no problem and it was just dried out sewer so we didnt need to repair anything.
They did all these for free!!!!!
Omg... so friendly so nice. They gave us some tips (do's n don'ts) and amazing hardworking people! I highly recommend them and will use them if we havr any plumbing issue!

Rick was incredibly helpful on the visit. He took the time to go through every turn in our plumbing line, and really have a good sense for what was going on. He also noticed that our toilet wasn't seated properly and helped to resolve that issue for us as well.

He also did a good job walking through what the options were around the job. I appreciate his thoroughness!

My house is older, but I only recently purchased it. I contacted Sewer Friendly because I had some slow drains and a gurgling toilet. Cameron came out and scoped the sewer line, explaining how to interpret what he was seeing.  Turns out my sewer line has newer PVC piping in good condition and it it is all A-OK!  While that means that my older home probably needs some internal plumbing updated, at least I don't have to worry about the sewer line.  Phew!

I would highly recommend Sewer Friendly and Cameron to anyone who has concerns about their sewer!

I'm so impressed with Sewer Friendly. The name matches my experience with how a customer is treated.
Cameron and Rick came to provide an estimate. They were honest, friendly and I could tell they were experts.
Beware of companies who pay on commission.
Everyone made this a positive, easy process.
Many thanks. Referrals will be made whenever possible.

Sewer issues are never fun, but when you have a great team on the job, it makes all the difference. Robert, Massa, Rex, Carlos, Cameron, John, Greg, Peter and Nina were an excellent-problem busting bunch. The team showed up on time, communicated throughout the project, and kept disruption to an absolute minimum. A special shout out to Robert, too, for his patience, empathy, and humor along the way.

I compared pricing and materials among the most reviewed and highly rated plumbing companies on Yelp. Sewer Friendly won the bid and they did not disappoint!

I was very happy with the quality of service we received from Sewer Friendly. Truly adding to the Friendly portion of their brand - Robert and James provided impeccable customer service and quality installation. They were professional in communicating the project plan with me, providing updates with each step . They were very patient and kind in explaining procedures and cost, not pushing for a sale. They really understood our budget and gave us solutions, options, and a game plan.

I hope I never need to see these guys again, but if I do - I know who I'm running to - SEWER FRIENDLY! Many thanks, Robert and James!

I am very happy with the work that was performed by Robert, Rex, Tavian, and Kainaan. Robert explained step by step everthing that he would be doing before starting. They were very efficient and the best part is that my yard was clean and looked like they hadn't even just dug a trench through it. I will 100% be recommending this company to everyone I know.

I called Sewer Friendly to look at a sewer plumbing issue (potential pump). Sewer Friendly quickly took my call and scheduled someone to inspect.  Rick was courteous and arrived on time, he inspected the sewer system for my house, and took adequate time and care to show and explain how the system was setup, his diagnosis, and what I needed to watch out for.  Since it was a pump issue, Sewer Friendly gave me a referral.  Based on my experience with Sewer Friendly, I'd recommend their business, I greatly appreciate how timely, upfront and honest they are!

I highly recommend Sewer Friendly. We hired them several times for sewer scope and hydro jetting for our projects. Reasonable price, quick and very friendly. We had some issues and they did came out two times and was not able to do the work ( our own issue ), however the crew were very accommodating and the Eillott at the office are super friendly and easy to work with as well. Will def use them again.

I am hiring a sewer company for some repairs, I've had 3 out to provide bids. Sewer Friendly being one of them. Disappointed for a few reasons:

During the estimate, the estimator a self proclaimed Dog lover made a comment about how my old lady dog (15 years old) was getting up there and called out all the reasons he could tell her age, then made an imitation of a syringe injection motion going into her while talking about having a company come to the house to do it. By far the strangest interaction I have had.

Went over and beyond to tell me how all of the other companies would go out of their way to sell me something. I explained multiple times that I wanted the bid broken out 3 ways based on the suggestion of another sewer repair company that I contacted. He didn't end up servicing my area but strongly recommended this to avoid multiple charges or companies that come in low with the intention of adding additional services. Then after telling me it would be no problem, sent me a bid for the way that he wanted to do the job (which didn't include the repair at all) just opening it up, installing a clean out to see what was wrong, rather than how I had asked to have the bid provided. When I followed up for the bid to be broken out, versus the very minimal part of the job. I received a firm no. After the fact, I am glad I I went with another company since using this company would have exposed me to whatever pricing they decided on for the core part of the job.

2 stars for being easy to schedule with and for proving a call ahead to let me know they were on the way. I would steer clear of this company.

Sewer Friendly was recommended to me by my realtor, and I could not have been more pleased with this company. After being ripped off and overcharged by another business, I called Sewer Friendly for an estimate. They were able to diagnose and repair my home's broken water pipe quickly and for an accurate and reasonable cost. Huge shout out to Greg, Tristan, Cameron, and Rick, for the great and professional job that they did, how frequently they keep me updated on what they were working on, how they asked my opinion before making big decisions, how they always arrived early/on time to my home, and especially how kind they all were! Having things break in your house can be extremely stressful, but they made it easy to put my trust in their ability to fix what was broken. I would recommend 100% and definitely will continue to use Sewer Friendly in the future!

We had a big job for Sewer Friendly and they did a great job. We didn't get competing bids because when there was sewer line repair on our house upon purchase and we sought bids from local companies, including a local West Seattle business (where we're located), folks were quite unreliable and only Sewer Friendly followed through on exactly their word, executing on the cheapest of multiple possible options (the cheapest option definitely made the most sense here in context).

We called them out to sleeve our entire side sewer line: over 200 feet! Rick took the time to help me understand the scope of the work and our options when he came out for the quote and was very knowledgeable on some potential issues in our sewer line we saw in the scope. The crew (Greg, James, and Johnny) got the work completed with only one additional day from our original rough expectation (6 days versus 5 days), which is pretty impressive given the crummy weather and the fact that 3 holes had to be dug and later filled, including one in concrete in a small street. There was no issue with inspection, holes were filed in very nicely, and they even covered the hole in our lawn with some sod because filling it in ended up leaving an ugly square in our yard otherwise (probably due to wild animals messing with the dug up grass). Thanks to Rick's detailed discussion with me upfront, there were no surprises in the work done and no unexpected work I had to be charged for.

The only minor criticism I have is that the person at the office that worked with me on the quote wasn't with the company a month later when work began (I chose the timeline to be a month out for unimportant reasons), and so there was some confusion between the work order and my original discussions with that individual on work to be done because there were several versions of their quote that had been produced in that original discussion. To their credit, the owner (can't recall her name) and Elliott were very easy to reach over the phone and respected all the original terms and quoted pricing without fuss, which I had email records of. Everyone from the front office to the crew was very professional and the crew was generally diligent about wearing a mask whenever I came out to talk to them.

Oh, and while they were out here Rick came out and helped me troubleshoot a tricky clogged drain in our laundry room. Excellent customer service the whole way. Would certainly work with Sewer Friendly again, but hopefully this fix is permanent so I won't have to!

Rick and Cameron quickly diagnosed the problem and also pointed out a few problems with my line line that are causing the problem. Rick and Cameron did a great job explaining all of this to me and I was also able to see on the camera of the sewer scope just exactly was going on in the line. Thanks !

First of all, we did not need an emergency repair of our sewer and water pipes.  So we were able to take our time to research to find the right company to do the work we needed.  We checked Consumer Reports, read Yelp reviews and did an overall google search for the best company.  We got 3 bids and Sewer Friendly submitted the best proposal.  Their selection was based on cost and their five star reviews. We had both our sewer and water pipes completely replaced.  And fix our gutter drainage.  The guys that did the work, Adam and Johnny were professional and did an excellent job.  These guys know their stuff.  They communicated the status of the work every day. They found a more efficient way to fix our gutter drainage around the house that saved us some money.  I would recommend this company.

Old homes are lovely. Old sewer lines are not! We had a complicated sewer line with multiple tie ins and lots of beautiful old trees compromising those lines. Sewer Friendly's quote came in lower than other companies we spoke to and the quality and thoroughness of the bidding process was top notch so we went with them for relining and repairing our sewer line. More than anything, the crew did an incredible job. It was rainy, muddy, we had to have multiple 14 foot holes dug. They also dug out a really old, massive root from a tree that died - which means we can finally plant some flowers in that area. The team - led by Adam and Dustin just worked so hard and were so kind and accommodating to us and our 4 year olds many questions.

Hopefully we don't have to do this again, but if we do, we would call Sewer Friendly again.

My plumber recommended these guys after we had some slowing in our sewer line. Rick came out to take a look and get a full view of what's going on down there with their camera. I watched the whole time to see what he saw and he explained everything to me as he went.  Very honest, friendly and professional, I was grateful for their service and would recommend Rick and Sewer Friendly to others and will be scheduling a hydro jet service with them shortly.

I called Sewer Friendly on the weekend and Jaime scheduled us for hydrojetting our line on Tuesday morning. Robel showed up right on time, was a great communicator about what he was going to do and informed me at every step of the process. He was always courteous and professional, kept his mask on and social distanced. When he finished, he reviewed everything with me and cleaned up after himself. We had a decent amount of roots growing in our side sewer (which we knew from previous scopes, so no surprise) so chances are we'll be using them again to put a liner in. I highly recommend them!

First-class service from start to finish. I knew I had some pretty severe sewer problems and had some anxiety going into the process of figuring out how to get them fixed. Called Sewer Friendly based on a recommendation from a neighbor and was able to set up an estimate right away. Rick was prompt and friendly and provided a detailed and honest assessment of the work that would need to be done--he helped me understand what was wrong and what my options were on the spot. I decided to have the line hydro-jetted by Cameron and Greg who provided further information about next steps and soon after I had a competitive estimate. I decided to go with Sewer Friendly based on these positive interactions and very glad I did. The extensive work that then needed to be done was completed by crew manager Robert and the crew of Massa and Triston, and I'm guessing that these guys are the best in the business. It turns out there was severe blockage throughout the line and the work had to be done in tight spaces near a close neighbor and busy city streets, but Robert's clear and frequent communication at every step of the process reassured me that professionals who had my best interests in mind were on the job. It took a few days and Robert and the crew were friendly and hard-working throughout; plus, the work was actually finished sooner than I thought it would be. These are the folks to call for professionalism, honesty, integrity, and high-quality work. Highly recommended.

My husband and I own a Plumbing, Heating, and Sewer Company but don't have a side sewer license to perform sewer work in the cities right of way.

Our good friends and neighbors had a major sewer back up. My husband spend 3 days working till midnight to clear their sewer to only find multiple breaks and the last major one under the sidewalk in the cities right of way.

We were sad to have to refer our good friends out to another company but when we did, we were beyond grateful we sent her to Sewer Friendly.

Sewer Friendly was able to come the very next next day. This was crucial as they were out of service, have 2 young kids at home, their Inlaws were arriving that day for an extended visit, and the mom was leaving for a 9 day work trip. This couldn't have happened at a worse time! But Sewer Friendly quickly eased the pain.

Upon arrival, Friendly Sewer quickly scoped the sewer and informed my neighbor that the break was the cities responsibility. WHAT?!!!?!  Like no way! Sewer Friendly could have totally closed this sale and scored a 15k sewer project. They did the right thing and told my friends the next steps.

Sewer Friendly provided the copy of the sewer scope and even gave them the cities email to send the scope. The city quickly responded and was scheduled for 2 business days out. My friends are being charged nothing from Friendly or the City.

After being in the industry for 30 years, this is an extraordinary company and experience. If I have any more customers with a right of way break, I will only refer them to Sewer Friendly. Clearly they value honesty, integrity, values, and good customer experience above making a pretty penny! The money comes second!

Thank you Sewer Friendly!

When I had a backup in my sewer, I called several plumbers to provide an estimate to repair a broken sewer line. When sewer friendly came out, they provided me the best price so I decided to give them a try. The broken line was 14' underground but when Jason, Greg and Adam came out they were very communicative throughout the whole process. They didn't mind my coming out from time to time to see their work and ask them questions. After the work was done they left everything clean to the point where it was barely noticeable that they were there at all. These guys worked hard and deserve kudos for their efforts. Overall, the company was professional, very competitive and great to work with. They will be my plumbers of choice whenever I have a problem!

Great job Sewer Friendly!

Never received follow up communication from Sewer Friendly after spending over an hour with their field estimator at my house for a quote on a side sewer replacement. Keep in mind this job was large in my opinion (~15k).  I don't think it's to much to expect a return a call / email back ven if they don't want the work. I'm not asking or expecting alot. I was told a quote would be sent to me the next day (this was three weeks ago). I found another company who has already finished the work. Net here is that the company dropped the ball on this but has a good reputation (I would call them again) and maybe had an off day.

Rick was sent to evaluate a problem with the washer draining large loads of water into the sewer - then backing up and flooding the basement. He was on time, used Covid precautions, and explained to me that he thought we should jet the cement pipes.  The company sent me an estimate but it was higher than I wanted to pay so I went with another company.  I recommend Rick as he was very good at his job and didn't pressure me to do anything right away.

The low stars are based on the crew.

PROS:
We had two estimates from other companies claiming that all 3 parts were ours to repair. Sewer Friendly (Rob,owner) was the only one to say that the 3rd part was actually the cities responsibility.  Sure enough, it is and the city will repair that part.  We appreciated the honesty, instead of trying to gouge us like the other companies.  The other thing, is that Sewer Friendly does their own bidding instead of contracting out.  Hence, why other bids are more expensive.

CONS:
Bring a port a potty, nothing worse then having a crew pee in your yard and you witness it. The water was only off for 2 hours a day at most.  Seriously get a porta potty or ask to use one of our bathrooms.
2nd Knocking down our solar lights in our yard and then half ass say, I'll replace or find them.
Ya this never happened. Yes our yard is in transition.  However when pulling the hose through our yard and knocking solar lights over, put them back in place. Or better yard pull the house down the driveway, along the bushes/sidewalk to avoid causing damage.

When splitting the bill with a neighbor, which is easy because the line is shared. Sewer friendly has a difficult time wrapping their head around this. I asked about this on a Monday, five days later follow up.  Only to hear that they would legally have to write up a separate piece of paper for them.. well hello, do it.  It's common sense. Also, hearing back from them is crickets.  The office/crew need to get their communication inline.   I'm still waiting for my invoice for the shared line.
Jamie and Rob are the two to talk to.  Jamie sets everything up and needs to train the rest of the crew.

I own a house in Ballard from the 1940's. It was time to replace my side sewer at the house. Talked to 4 other side sewer contractors and talked to Rob from sewer friendly. He came to my house within a day (helped that he had a current job close to my house) and gave me a quote. Fair price compared to competitors.

I had two options: Pipe Bursting and Perma lining my existing clay pipe. I decided to go with pipe bursting. Rob was patient and helped explain both methods and that he suggested pipe bursting. I called a 3rd party sewer scope company to ask them which one to choose and they agreed with pipe bursting after looking at my sewer scope footage.

The work was great and the timeline was what I expected. Great communication from Rob and his team. Rob and his team take accountability for any damage done to the property due to heavy equipment. I had a small dent in my driveway and Rob's team fixed it up quickly. Thanks for the help!

I had some neighbors with sewer line problems recently so I decided to call in some experts to provide me with either piece of mind or a heads up. Settled on hiring Sewer Friendly because of the positive Yelp reviews, competitive pricing, and availability. Two gentlemen came out to do the inspection, Jason & Cameron, both of whom were professional, friendly, respectful of my home, and knowledgeable. They entertained my curiosity, did the job quickly, and made sure the area was clean before they left. If these guys are representative of the caliber of the whole crew at Sewer Friendly, I have no hesitation recommending the company and will certainly be keeping their number handy for future needs either for myself or anyone looking for a referral.

We hired Sewer Friendly a year ago after purchasing our house. The inspection revealed we needed the sewer line fixed from the house to the street. They came in and their bid was the best of the companies that came out. We hired them to do the work they recommended and everything went well for a month or so until our toiled started bubbling when the shower was running or water was running elsewhere in the house. I called to report the issue and they came out promptly to investigate. It turned out one of the repairs that they thought could wait to be completed needed to be done. They apologized for steering us away from that initially and completed this repair at no charge. I appreciated their honesty and willingness to stand by their work.

We hired Sewer Friendly for a second time to fix a break where our sewer connected with the city system (a break they identified in our original scope of work with them). Though sewer projects are nobody's ideal way to spend money, we had another great experience from start to finish. Elliott in the office helped us to split our estimate into two parts, as this part of our line was shared with our neighbor. Rick was a great help in getting us an estimate which set our expectations for the ideal (sleeving -- which ended up being possible!) versus which complications we might run into. Robert and Parker were so friendly while working in a deep, deep hole in our side yard, and Daniel and Tristan even showed up with some rolls of sod and topsoil when they arrived to clean up our property afterward. Everyone was just as lovely and professional as last time. We hope more sewer projects *aren't* in our future, but if they are, we will definitely call Sewer Friendly again!

From the minute I called them, they returned my call promptly, got someone out to evaluate the problem, gave me a very reasonable quote for repair, and scheduled it quickly. The best part about it was that they understood a complicated basement drain issue more than several others and came up with a solution that fixed the problem. The team that arrived was on time, very professional, cleaned up well afterward, and did exactly what they said they would. They checked in with me along the way and made sure I was happy with the result. I am so pleased and will call them first if ever I have a drain or sewer issue again. Thank you Jamie and team!

These guys came highly recommended by a former employee. They sent Rick out to scope my side-sewer and he was professional, on-time and was able to assess the situation quickly and suggest the best solution for my 117 year old house's system.

Overall the specific repair and fix for drainage problems was done and done pretty well  - during the cold weather season. It's messy work, and the guys worked hard. However, Caution: the homeowners must check the site during the job: I was assured my border plants would be protected during the job. Dug up mud was left on plant area and so the plants did not come up this spring.  I did a walk through before workers left, finding concrete chunks under plants and mud scattered around. The workers need to leave the site in good shape. Recommend with reservations as stated.

Update on the situation: Owner contacted me and asked how they could make it right: Two days later, I had a reimbursement check and the company added gravel that was needed as well. Thanks for your prompt response!

This company came highly recommended to us. We needed a new clean out put in so we gave them a call.  So happy we did!  The service was great! Kevin and Jake were the crew that did the job for us.  They were on time (which is important to me), friendly, informative and answered all my questions. They had the job done in no time at all!  Could not have asked for a better experience.  Will definitely contact them again if any other sewer issues arise.

Rick Starostka from Sewer Friendly was great.  He showed up early to the appointment.  He communicated clearly and did a great job setting up expectations.  Rick seems very knowledgable.  He was careful.  He kept us updated and gave simple explanations for what is happening.  I'd highly recommend Rick again.

We are very pleased with our whole experience with Sewer Friendly. From first contact with Jamie in the office, to the initial visit and assessment from Tyler & Jason, to the work done by Kevin, Ryan, and Garrett, we couldn't be happier. They did a great job, were SUPER friendly, offered competitive pricing, were receptive to our concerns, and were easy to reach. They showed up when they said they were going to and completed the job in an efficient manner. They are now our go-to plumbers and I would recommend them to anyone! Thanks a bunch, guys. Great work!

Our contractor subbed our sewer line repair to Sewer Friendly, and we're glad he did! Ryan and Jason came when scheduled, kept the disruption to a minimum, and showed us clearly what was going on. As soon as the inspection was done, they came back and backfilled, leaving the yard looking far better than I expected: you can hardly tell they were here.

Called Sunday night after calling about 20 other plumbers regarding a backed up sewer drain. Couldn't do the work but suggested another service, and didn't just give me their info but called the owner himself to make sure we got ahold of someone. Super nice and helpful. I had several other recommendations that didn't help, but this one worked. Saved us.

I have used this awesome company twice, first they have me the most competitive bid to help fix a major, extremely deep sewer offset problem.. we lived near a stream and that complicated things. Well they finished on time, was super prompt at responding to any questions, had a clean sewer scope at the end, cleaned up and I was able to sell my house without any issues.  Second run- I needed someone to give me a bid on a Y sewer for a house we were considering to buy. Of course they answer (and this was a Sunday) and make an appt to come on that Tuesday. What great customer service! I will definitely be calling these guys for any sewer related issues again!!

called and setup a date/time for them to inspect and bid on replacement of a section of sewer line.  next day they called back to tell me they had double booked the time we'd picked.  this was fine and appreciated that they called with a new date/time.  but, when the appointment time came they called to say they were too busy.  giving them a 2 only because they tried to reschedule and they did call to let me know, but it was literally at the end of the 2 hour window they'd setup.

Sewer Friendly came out and referred us to Action Jackson for a cleanout. They said that after the scope, they would look at the video and come up with recommendations. After waiting a week, I emailed to see what the prognosis was and was told that it was a broken pipe and it needed to be replaced to the tune of $13k. Because it was only broken in one place and we have a shared sewer line, we called to ask if they would revise their estimate for a spot repair and 2 way cleanout since the neighbors were not ready to make that kind of investment and didn't want part of their yard dug up fo SF to access our pipe. We were assured that they would get us the estimate in a couple of days. Two weeks later, I emailed them to find out where the estimate was or if they decided they were not able to do it and asked to be informed one way or the other. It's been two more weeks and I haven't even had my email acknowledged. Maybe they are so busy that small jobs don't interest them, but at least they should take the time to tell you.

I'm highly disappointed in their customer service.

Just called Sewer Unfriendly to do a sewer locate for me.
They had done the original scope on my home when I bought it.

Apparently doing a locate for $228.00, which is what they charge for less then an hours worth of work, is beneath them.

Michelle in the office replied Mike kinda just wants to work with people that actuallywant to hire him and proceeded to tell me how busy he was and what his schedule looked like.
NO concern with obtaining my business.

Amazing ! I can't believe some people stay in business.
Supply and demand I guess.

I am doing an addition and had to have the existing line replaced in my yard, under the addition, and deal with a root mass.  Got bids from a few contractors but no one apparently had the capability to pop the line and replace without trenching.  No muss, no fuss.  Replaced line in one day with minimal outage, and fixed the root mass the next day.  Very impressed with the work and how considerate Rob and Garrett were.

Please beware.. I do not generally write reviews and especially do not make it a habit to write bad ones. I feel I must pass this along so that no one gets scammed by this guy. I am a real estate investor, and have ample experience with sewer scopes, and repairs. If I did not have as much experience as I do, I would have lost over $13,000 because of this con..

He actually told buyers that they needed to dig up and replace sewer pipes (THAT WERE NOT EVEN BEING USED ANYMORE). They were just left in the ground after the sewer stack was moved. He told them he could start right away and discount from $15,000 to $13,500 if they put half down immediately. Once I realized he was talking about pipe which was upstream of the new stack, I called him thinking he may not have even realized... Nope, he then said YOUR PIPES ARE ROTTEN.. In his estimate he included digging up the old cast iron pipes.. The rotten ones... THEY WERE NOT CAST IRON,, THEY WERE PERFECTLY GOOD CONCRETE PIPES...    PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!..  There are plenty of good honest sewer companies out there. I have since talked to several of them who confirmed that Friendly Sewer does this all the time!

We just had some work completed by sewer friendly... Fabulous job! We went with them because they had the lowest  bid, were very responsive and friendly, and had good reviews online. We were not disappointed. Rob came out quickly to give the bid and was very easy to talk to and he was able to work with our schedule. Chris was the main guy on site and he was a hard worker, responsible, and put us at ease over what was being done to repair our sewer line. He and his crew were impressive. All in all, we got a great price for excellent work. Couldn't ask for more.

Before we closed on our house, which has two side sewers, we had both side sewers scoped by a different company. They did not complete a full scope of either line (but still charged me for them) and provided a very brief and unprofessional assessment. After we closed on the house we got a second opinion from another company on the video, who told us we were going to need to replace one of the lines completely and gave us a ridiculously high estimate, which terrified us.

FINALLY we contacted Sewer Friendly for a third opinion on the video we had, as well as to re-scope the line and provide an estimate for the work needed. Rob didn't just call or email back with a quick opinion. He came out to my home, discussed the video with me, and made some recommendations for work we might consider in the future, but didn't think anything needed to be done now. He did tell me what he thought we might need to do in 5 years or so, described the work, and explained and how much he thought it might cost. He didn't even think it was necessary to do a new scope, and didn't try to sell me anything. I can't believe how kind and honest he was, and he didn't charge me a dime. He went so far above and beyond. We have been worried about this issue for weeks and we're so grateful to have some peace of mind. We will be recommending Sewer Friendly to our friends and neighbors, and if we do have sewer needs in the future we will definitely be calling them! Thanks again for your incredible kindness.

We had our sewer line inspected after a backup and the guy who scoped the line told us we had one section that was cracked open and another where it was partially crushed (old Seattle home, those concrete pipes are ticking time bombs), time to replace it!

Our neighbor had replaced their sewer about two years prior and highly recommended Mike and the guys at Sewer Friendly, who she had used to replace her line.

We got a handful of bids to compare prices and it came down to Sewer Friendly and one other company. The other company was a bit cheaper, but honestly, we got a better feeling about Mike, he just struck us as a much more honest businessman (and the recommendation from our neighbor helped). Mike asked about the other bids and then without even really having to push for it, he met us in the middle of the cheaper one, so we immediately agreed to use his team.

We have a deck right over our sewer line, so we were a bit nervous that we were going to have to tear it up, but Mike recommended a trenchless replacement (pretty cool technology), which was a huge breath of fresh air and a lot less work. They were able to come out a few days later and handle everything without us there. It was pretty cool seeing all this heavy equipment in our backyard. I had somewhat imagined this taking like a week to complete, but in two days we had a fully functioning sewer line again, and they did a really good job cleaning up after themselves (very minimal damage to our yard, despite having to run an excavator up our hill).

They forgot to reconnect our downspout from our gutter, so I called Mike and he sent someone out a few short days later to fix that asap. He has also fielded a few of my dumb questions about the line with responsive emails and phone calls.

Highly recommend using Mike and Sewer Friendly - great business

After living in our house for almost 3 years we started to experience a back-up in our basement drain when we did dishes or laundry. I reached out to two plumbers and they indicated it sounded like a sewer issues and I should contact a sewer company. Right before we moved into our home, the sewer line was repaired, by Sewer Friendly LLC. So I reached out to them with our issue. They indicated it sounded like a pipe was blocked. I informed them I was told by other companies it was a sewer issue. To get to the bottom of the issue, Mike came over that day to check it out. He ran his camera through both sewer lines on the outside of our house even though his company only replaced one of them. Just by running his camera through the line, he was able to loosen up the built up sewage which cleared the pipe for us. He was also able to provide some maintenance recommendations and point out future potential issues all at no cost. Ultimately Mike was right it was a blocked pipe and he provided great service. You best believe I will reach out to him and leverage his sister company when I need plumbing maintenance.

Thanks for the great service!!!!

Sewer Friendly always has the best response time, the most reasonable rates and great follow-up on any projects we work together on. As a realtor I have worked with many different sewer contractors and plumbers over the last decade and Sewer Friendly continues to impress me, my clients and the agent on the other side of the transaction.

Last December I had two different transactions where sewer work was needed in order to negotiate and then close on a home purchase. Each time Mike was very responsive in addressing the issue with a bid and then scheduling the work once had negotiated with the other party. Acting quickly with a bid in a real estate transaction often means giving the buyer or seller a piece of mind about the issue as well as deciding whether the buyer moves forward with the purchase.

Sewer Friendly is very realistic about fixing issues. They won't advise you to do unnecessary work and they won't charge you for upgrades or materials you don't need.

I can't stress enough how much a good contractor means to me in my career as a realtor and as an owner of rental homes. Sewer Friendly is dependable and fair!

YOU GUYS CONTACTED YELP TO HAVE THIS BE REMOVED?!! REALLY!! WELL HERE IT IS AGAIN!!!

Had a draining issue and immediately called Action Jackson. They've worked on our house over 2 months ago and it seemed my mother was pleased with them. They were able to provide a plumber from another company they're affiliated with them called Sewer Friendly. When they arrived, Mike, the owner jumped out of the truck claiming he's been to my mother's house before and already claimed he knew what was wrong. He proceeded to go to the roof to the ventilation pipe and put in the snake in, then only after a few feet, the screen went black. He claimed that its clogged and a 100ft of pipe would need to be replaced. How could he possibly know that 100ft needs to be replaced when only sticking the camera in one place and for only a few feet? He gave a verbal quote and said he can fix the corner of the piping system for $1,800 or replace all the pipes for $5,200 AND HE WAS WILLING TO DO THE JOB WITHOUT A PERMIT IF WE PAY CASH & WONT BE CHARGED TAX. He NEVER entered the house to view the bathtub/toilet/sink.

That is the definition of a SKETCHY A$$ COMPANY!!! No stank you!! No wonder why they have no reviews. They get no love on here, but I have to give them a rating.

-----

So Nikki from Action Jackson has asked me to take down MY review from the Action Jackson Yelp site. LOL!!!! That's like me asking for a full refund at McDonald's for food I've already eaten. It's NOT gonna happen!! Bwahaha!!

Makes a very bad day that much... Friendlier... And not just regular friendlier but SEWER friendlier! Ha... Ha... Haha.... Haaaaaa... Okay that was cheesy.

Simply said though, when my sewer line burst it was a very bad day indeed, my entire yard smelled like the streets of Manila (and hey I left the Philippines to get AWAY from the smell!).

The crew was super friendly and I could tell they knew their stuff, since the extent of my plumbing knowledge is limited to bouncing on goombas and discovering warp zones in Super Mario Bros, I was delighted to be so well taken care of. Very fair quote and thorough job, they even followed up with me to see how I was doing.

Sewer Friendly is the choice for anyone who needs to make their bad day just a little bit friendlier.

We woke up one morning to a cascade of water running down our driveway. Long story short the previous owners of our home used improper piping for the water main during a renovation a few years before we bought our house and it had ruptured. As you can imagine this was an emergency for us. We called a few places, quite frantically, and were able to get ahold of a live person at Sewer Friendly immediately. This team is awesome and they fixed our issue by replacing our entire water main line for the price they originally quoted us (even though they found additional issues etc that caused their cost to rise) and did a fantastic job. Fast forward about 15 months and we discovered that our previous owners also improperly connected our sprinkler system to our house water, past the main where it should have been. My landscaper called me and said a certified plumber has to connect the system to the main and to call him back once I was able to get that fixed. So I called Rob and explained everything to him. He came out to my place almost immediately and saw what the issue was and told me he would get back to me. A bit later I get another call from him and he tells me he knows exactly what needs to get done and that he would have his team come out and complete the work....FOR FREE. And that's exactly what they did. Customer service, quality of work, and their overall business model is just fantastic. I won't ever call anyone else. Thank you to the entire Sewer Friendly Team. Keep doing what you're doing!!

In the final chapter of our horrible broken sewer line debacle, we finally found a contractor that could do the job. Mike and his crew came out first thing in the morning (spot on time!), gave everything a good looking over, pulled some strings and was ready to get the job done. I think he read the desperation in my eyes, as we had been without facilities for nearly four days.

His crew took over (Rob and another fellow) and they were very thorough, knowledgeable and best of all, compassionate for our situation. (Do they teach bedside manner in this job? A broken sewer line is a traumatic situation for many - they handled this like champs!)

We ended up needing an additional water jetting services to unclog the lines in a different direction (unexpected, but necessary) so they arranged another company to come out for us, negotiated the price (getting us a good deal) and handled everything on our behalf, taking the sting out of an unfortunate and pricey event.

After it was all said and done, we ended up with three different estimates from three different companies and they were all within a few hundred dollars of one another. Sewer Friendly's was not the cheapest, yet also not the most expensive. For the speed, ease and willingness to get this job done for us on the fly, it was TOTALLY worth it.

Thumbs up and gold stars all around. I would recommend these guys in a heartbeat!

well...if you have to get your sewer line replaced its not a good day in general. I was told I needed a new line and spent some time getting quotes from some companies that were recommended.  Mike (Sewer Friendly) came out on time (WOW) and answered all my questions.  I also have a neighbor I was concerned would be an issue during the process and he calmed my worries and said all the right things.
In the end I went with Sewer Friendly and they did a great job...on budget..on time and my yard looked the same as it did before they dug a huge hole in it.
On top of the excellent work they did I also had my neighbor compliment how great they were....and that to me said it all!  (she isnt easy to please).

If you are looking for a reliable, honest, professional company to replace your sewer  line you should give Mike a call.

I spoke to Michelle at Sewer Friendly who went out of her way to accommodate our schedule with less that 24hrs notice.  As a Realtor, I needed to have sewer scope performed ASAP so that my clients and I would feel comfortable offering on a home.  The listing agent was to have provided us with a copy before the review date but that never happened.  Fortunately another agent was kind enough to share their inspection.  Long story short: even though we didn't end up needing Sewer Friendly's service they understood the situation and moved their schedule to accommodate our schedule; other inspectors I called just laughed and said they were too busy.  Five star for customer service!

Mike came out to give me a bid on adding a side sewar line, 2 other plumbers gave me bids of $3,000 to hook up another line in my yard. Mike took the time to discover there was a already side sewar line right below where I needed it to be trenched to. If i hadn't called Mike I would have spent thousands of dollars to have my yard trenched when there was already an existing line exactly where I needed it. Bottom line, I ended up paying him for scoping my sewar and that's it. Yes, he could have made a ton of money off of me, because i had no clue, but he chose to save me thousands and now the only work I need done is from a plumber. Thanks again Mike!!

We talked to several companies; while all were priced similarly, Sewer Friendly did have one of the lower prices. The real difference was that they would be less invasive (fewer holes), connect our drains, and clean up afterwards. They did exactly that and were friendly and helpful in addition. Also, they got the job done quickly, despite bad weather. We recommend without reservation - these guys are GREAT!

We called Rescue Rooter (RR) out on a Sunday afternoon with a houseful of activity and guests  - we were desperate the sewer line was backing up into one of our bathrooms.  They were able to temporarily get us up and running, but bid a permanent fix to the sewer line at close to $8000.00 and it was only running about 6 feet of liner, digging a 6 foot hole and would not hook up with the City.  Then, they said they called the City and verified information that turned out to be false.  In the meantime, we called several other companies to get bids for this huge sewer line repair.  Several other companies failed to call us back, did not actually use a camera to verify the information from RR or were late or no showed for bids.

In came Mike from Sewer Friendly - not only did he return our calls promptly, he verified City Code and told us who and when he spoke with them.  Further, he came out ran a camera to verify the damage and provided a detailed 4 page contract bid the same day.  He also recommended running 30 feet of liner - to the City sewer line and his bid was much less than RR.  To top it off, he actually tried to come up with some other less costly fixes, but ultimately we had the whole line replaced.  His crew was on time, friendly, worked hard and his subcontractors were the exact same way.

We are so pleased with the work done, experience we had with every employee that we would highly recommend Sewer Friendly for any plumbing needs.  And if needed, for any other plumbing needs, we will call Sewer Friendly!!  We felt compelled to let others know that the reviews already posted were right on the money!

They came in and did a full trenchless repair for my 1920's vitreous tile side-sewer. Scoping revealed a big root ball that their 3000 psi jetter could not get, as well as numerous cracks and root infiltration at each joint. It was expensive, but very low-impact. Jamie is a pleasure to work with. I only wish they provided more line-item detail on the invoice.

Sewer Friendly was a pleasure to work with. My first contact with them was to arrange a bid, and Rob came out promptly, was pleasant to work with, and I got a detailed bid from them on the same day. We collected several other bids and Sewer Friendly was the best price for the same work. I called and spoke to Jamie, who set everything up for us, answered all my questions, and took my deposit. I called on a Friday, and Monday morning, someone from the city was out doing a pre-inspection and work got started that day. The crew worked efficiently, and by that Thursday, the holes in our yard were filled and the job was done. Sewer Friendly communicated with me well at every step of the way, did exactly what they said they would, and they offered us the best price of the places we got quotes from. Thanks!

I've referred Sewer Friendly to many of my clients, as I work in Real Estate, they always provide good value quotes and great service.  I just finally got around to replacing my sewer at my own home, and of course I called Sewer Friendly.  Mike came out for a quote quickly, you can tell he is an honest guy and a straight shooter.  The company staff were very responsive and the guys who installed the new sewer did a great job and were really polite.  2 days later I have peace of mind with a new sewer through Pipe Bursting!  I will definitely keep sending clients to Sewer Friendly after working with them personally.

Expensive and low quality are my experience.  I hired Sewer Friendly twice, the first time for a video service and the second time for a sewer pipe repair.  For the video inspection he charged $250 and did not provide a DVD recording of the video.  Two other sewer contractors I have worked with in the past charged $165 and $200, and both provided a DVD recording as part of the their standard procedure.  One of these contractors came out after Sewer Friendly, so it wasn't a matter of prices going up over time.

The second time I hired Sewer Friendly was to replace a short section of sewer pipe.  They arrived an hour early, which was horribly inconvenient for me as I needed to get my son to school.  I agreed to let him replace the pipe though I thought the price was high, and even though I could have done it myself, I really didn't want to.  He said to allow 2 hours, which was no problem.  After I returned from dropping my son off, he was done (about 45 minutes) and went on tell me how the line sloped UP when coming out of my house, and how it might be ok, but that to really make sure it would require a huge amount more of excavation at a significant cost.  I thanked him and sent him on his way.

Later in the day I climbed down with a level to check the line, and found the reason it was sloped UP was because Sewer Friendly created a high spot in the line!  I called them back, and he said they'd take a look.  A different crew came out and in 20 minutes had the whole thing sloped properly- DOWN towards the sewer main.  When I expressed my displeasure, Mike, the owner, simply replied mistakes happen.  I might have been more accepting of the price if he had done the job right the first time.

I will not hire Sewer Friendly again.

I emailed Mike on Saturday evening, explaining that we had been in the basement and heard our toilet gurgling. Upon closer inspection the basement bathtub and toilet had some debris in them, and the toilet water was low. - We never use this bathroom, so we thought it was odd. Parts of our basement were also wet, but we thought that might be due to recent heavy rainfall. I told him that I wasn't sure if it justified an emergency call, but we would do what he recommended.
Mike responded via email that evening telling me that it looked like our sewer was backing up, and that he would give me a call on Sunday. He called Sunday morning as promised. When we talked,  he said his team was super busy and wouldn't be able to get out to us, but that he had arranged with another company to come out at 8am on Monday morning to check it out. He told us how much we would be paying the other company, and what to expect.
The other company came arrived 15 minutes early for our appointment and quickly got to work. They reported that our line was blocked near the street and thought it might have something to do with the construction occurring on our street. They also said that they had called Mike in to talk to the contractors because he's so good at it.
So, Mike showed up and talked the contractors, then came in and talked to us. He told us to call Seattle Public Utilities to have them come see if the issue was their fault or not before he did any work. He explained the work he would do if the city didn't take responsibility and gave us an estimate for the work. While we were waiting for the City to come out, he arranged for nd one of his teams to meet at our property to resolve our issue if the City didn't think it was their fault.
The City came out, but said the issue was on our side of the sewer line, not theirs.
Mike's teams got to work right on time, and found that our sewer line had been crushed by the work performed by the city when repairing our water line. They took extensive pictures of the issue. Mike called after his team left to explain the work they completed, and explained what they did and what they found.
He told me to contact the City to get a claim number so we can get reimbursed for the work that was done on their behalf.
I highly recommend Mike and his team, and won't hesitate to use them for any future plumbing/sewer needs.

Mike, Rob and the team are clearly passionate about what they do and they do an excellent job. Mike came out on the same day when called to give a (very reasonable) bid to replace an entire 82 year-old sewer line at our new house.  He took the time to explain pipe bursting to us and we were amazed that he didn't have to excavate our whole lawn!  They are true specialists and have a great deal of expertise in their area.  Scheduling was easy and the team did the work well, efficiently, and with friendly customer service. Rob even fixed another plumbing issue in our basement for us while he was there, which we appreciated!  I would absolutely recommend them to others.

We had sewage coming up and flooding into our basement from a drain by our water heater. In a panic, we called Beacon Plumbing which in hindsight, was a huge mistake. They charged us $100 service call, $350 to do a video-scope of our line, $350 to snake the line, and $800 to hydro-jet it clear. After all of those fees, they gave us a $10,000 quote to re-line the sewage line. On top of all of these bills, the guy from Beacon was lazy and not informative.

I jumped online and searched reviews to hopefully find a plumber that I didn't feel like I was getting ripped off by and who might give me a little more information as to what really was needing to be done. Thank God I came across Sewer Friendly's Yelp page.

Mike was enthusiastic to make sure we were well taken care of. He video-scoped our line (for free) and provided us with a quote to not just re-line our pipe, but to completely replace it for $5,000 less than Beacon's quote. It took his crew (a group of guys equally as enthusiastic to take care of us) a day and a half to dig two un-invasive holes to pipe-burst our line, complete the work, make the holes look like they were never dug, and have the work inspected by the city.

They were WELL worth the money. I highly recommend these guys.

Had an outside water line installed from the meter to the house and the installation went great.  However 4 months later a valve fitting failed and sprang a leak.  We called And they responded quickly and came out + called the city so we could have both parties on the premises to fix the leak (on December 26th) depending up responsible party.  Sewer Friendly quickly blamed the city for the water failure prior to even digging up the ground to inspect the issue, they then dug a hole and found the leaky valve fitting told us it was the cities issue and left.   We were stuck between Sewer Friendly and the City and both played the blame game.  After meeting with the city a second time I realized that the issue was on our end and that Sewer Friendly should have fixed the failed fitting which they installed and confirmed it with a 3rd party Sewer company that had to come out and fix the issue for $800.  They do not back their work.

First off, I should say that my wife and I have a decent amount of knowledge about sewer lines as we've had to repair and replace lines at some of our rental houses in the past.  So I had a general idea of what to expect in terms of work and cost, but really wanted to find a reliable company to do the work.

Mike, the owner of Sewer Friendly, is simply awesome!  We needed a new sewer line replaced at a house we just moved into.  Our existing line went through our neighbor's yard, and we wanted to find a way to run our own independent line down to the street as to avoid issues with the neighbor, etc., but without killing our wallet.  We had 10 other companies quote us, with quotes as high as $30K, which was insane.  Mike gave us a quote that was about 1/3 less and was very good about problem solving and thinking of different ways to meet our needs.

We wanted to add a bathroom in our basement at some point in the near future, so after Mike's initial quote, my wife and I spent more than 2 months thinking of the best way to work on the project so we could easily add a bathroom down the road (and tap into the new sewage line) without having to do a lot of work twice.  Mike was friendly enough to come to our house 3 separate times over 2 months before we even committed to working with him; he was at our house for over an hour each time!  He even came by on a Sunday to answer a few more questions and come up with more ideas for the project.

Finally, we hired him and he started the project the next morning. He ran into unforeseen problems and was unable to pipe-burst half of the line like we had planned, so they ended up digging the entire line by hand, and never tried to charge us more for the extra work.  He just took care of the problem and never even complained.  :)

His crew was fast, clean and efficient.  By Tuesday night, the yard pretty much looked like new, and they even came back on Wednesday to lay new bark and grass seed and do a more thorough clean up.  Mike was cool, and super easy to work with.  Our dog loved him too!

Sewer Friendly is highly recommended!

You can't go wrong with Sewer Friendly!

Mike (the owner) came out an hour after I called him for an estimate. It was immediately obvious that he knows what he's talking about and he's extremely passionate about what he does. After having 8 (yes, EIGHT!) estimates, Mike's was the second lowest. (The lowest never even responded to emails when asked about availability.) Other bigger companies quoted me twice what Mike did and didn't show anywhere near as much interest or concern about the job.

After I let Mike know I was going with him, he stopped back by to see if I had any other questions. He had me sign a contract and put half down, and then showed up early the next morning to complete the job (replace 25 feet of old concrete pipe and install 2 cleanouts). His crew was professional and efficient and the job was done by that same afternoon. When they were done they took the time to make sure both my yard and the neighbor's looked exactly the same as before they started. Two days later Mike showed up again as a courtesy to snake the line and do some simple plumbing work for me.

I would recommend Sewer Friendly to anyone without hesitation. Spending a month's paycheck on sewer work is inevitably painful, but at least with Mike and his crew I can be confident that it was done well and with a smile. =)

Oh, and FYI... Mike talks really fast and is super hyper! It might take you a moment to get used to it, but really it just goes to show how passionate and FRIENDLY he is. =D

Mike was called to my rental house in Mt.Lake, Terrace to evaluate a backed up sewer drain.  After running a camera down the line he showed me where it was plugged up.  Over the years I have had this problem two other times with tree roots blocking the old cement sewer lines.  It was always an expensive ordeal.
I was ready for a final solution to this expensive problem.  Mike offered me a very reasonable price to run a new 62 foot sewer line from the house to the street with state of the art black rubber pipe.  I quickly agreed at the more than fair price for the job.
The following day I was on site from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm and watched the entire job. Mike even drove me to City Hall to obtain the necessary permit.
His crew jack-hammered  a 3' x 4' hole in the patio and made two other holes in the driveway closer to the main sewer hook up.  Mike unloaded his own ditching machine and dug the holes, one was 6' deep. After the holes were dug and the old pipe was ready A steel cone and cable was afixed ono the new 62' pipe. Then it was threaded through the old pipe with a machine that applies 11,000 lbs. of pressure. It was amazing to watch the high-tech procedure.
His young, energetic and friendly crew of workers worked very hard to complete the job.  After the city inspector approved the job the crew filled in the holes and poured over 25 bags of 80# concrete to finish the job.
When my renter arrived home the job was completely done and Mike's crew had cleaned up and swept the entire site.
I was building a small fence in the backyard at the rental house the same week.  Mike even let me use his cement mixer so I wouldn't have to mix the 16 bags of concrete by hand.
I would eagerly reccomend Mike and Sewer Friendly to everyone I know.  I have complete confidence in the job they did and Mike was a real pleasure to work with.  Sewer Friendly does what they say they'll do and does it quickly.

T'was the Saturday before Thanksgiving and my sewer went out and my journey began.  Stage one, Action Jackson sent Caleb out immediately.  Roto Rooter didn't have anyone until the night.  As it turned out the root balls were so numerous and large there is no way they could have done the work at night. After 3+ hours Caleb worked through the roots that were clogging my 96 year old line.  He scoped the line and it was a mess.  Time to get bids to do a trenchless replacement.  Action Jackson's sister company Sewer Friendly came in with the lowest of three bids.  The reviews here were all stellar, so Monday the work began.  Sterling and Jarvis worked up a storm the first day.  The second day after running into a couple unexpected problems, they had 6 guys in my yard banging out the work to keep to their 1-2 day pledge...the day before Thanksgiving!!! End of the story, Mike stuck to his bid and I am the proud owner of a brand new very long trenchless sewer line.

I have never written a Yelp review and I cannot recommend these guys enough.

I called about 10 plumbing companies trying to find someone to put in a sewer line and decommission the septic tanks.  Wow, no one wanted the work except Mike at Sewer Friendly.  One would think this was a good economy and they were all too busy.  Fortunately Mike came out the same night I called (after working hours) and I had a bid within a day or so.  He was right in the ball park of what I was told that it would cost when I bought the house.  They worked like clockwork and had everyone else they needed there lined up within minutes of each other (ie. the septic pumping and the gravel dump to fill the tanks).  They were all really nice guys and worked hard to get the job done within the time frame they had quoted.  In fact there were there finishing after dark.  I am impressed by how responsive the owner is and at how hard his employees work.
It was a pain to have to do a sewer hook up but Sewer Friendly made it easy and fast.  You can count on them to do a good job.

Mike and his team did a terrific job.  My house is +100 years old and in Capitol Hill.  It has a clay sewer pipe that every couple of years needs to be snaked out to remove root growth.  After having the sewer backup once more after recent heavy rains, I decided to bite the bullet and have the entire line replaced.  I got a third party inspection (Seattle Sewer Inspection - highly recommend them as well) and the video showed a number of places where the sections had separated enough that roots and dirt had easy access.  Following SSI's advice I got three bids.  While all were within the same ballpark (+/-10%), Sewer Friendly was able to start the work soonest so I decided to go with them.  They did pipe bursting replacement out to the sidewalk from where the line exits the house - over 70 feet - and made sure that the old gutter downspouts retied into the sewer line (quite often these are abandoned requiring ugly surface flexible pipe to take the water away from the foundation).

Mike next looked at the line from sidewalk to the city main, which along the way joins with my neighbors.  This too was clogged and there were some large cracks.  If the pipe were to collapse, it would require digging up the street; an expensive proposition.  Mike's suggested remediation was a relining and a new tie in with my neighbors sewer.  I had Seattle Sewer Inspection come out again to verify what Mike was saying and also spoke with a relining company to make sure I was getting the whole and accurate story.  I was and again Mike's bid was very competitive and we decided to proceed with the work.  In all I had more than 100 feet of sewer line repaired/replaced and feel confident that this will last for the next 100 years.

Hearing that you need home repairs costing many $1000s can be intimidating especially since there are several operators out there that are happy to overcharge.  Before you choose anyone, I suggest getting three bids.  Call up Budget Sewer, Metropolitan and Sewer Friendly.  Others, especially those whose name you see plastered everywhere may sound convenient and good but you will end up paying through the nose (was quoted $22K for full reline a couple years ago, was quoted about $20K for replacing the six inch sewer line from my sidewalk to the city main before that).

These guys were down to earth and ready to work. They provided one of the least expensive bids (a couple of rip off bids were twice as high as sewer friendly).  They replaced every pipe in my old house from the street to the alley. They pipe burst my sewer line (which is what I wanted vs. lining), and replaced my water line. Great bid , and even though they ran into many challenges wit my old house, they never wavered from their price. I also had all my indoor plumbing replaced, they sent Adrian who was awesome (see my green planet plumbing review).  Make sure you get a quote from these guys early and save yourself some time (and money).

Mike at Sewer Friendly was referred to me by Fritz Drain Services. I was looking for an estimate to have my sewer pipe relined. When I called Mike he answered right away and was polite. Since he was on the road he asked how soon I needed the estimate, which was the next day, and if I could send him an email with my address and info.

The next day Mike showed up on time and had already researched my property to see the layout of the sewer line. He let me know that due to the transition from a 4 inch to the 6 inch after my neighbor's connect into the line a reline option was not available. For the next 30 min he scoped the line. When complete he let me know that the problem the other company saw was actually not an issue at all, but rather the standard way the clay pipe connects with the cement pipe prior to connecting with the main city line. He then went on to tell me that there was not any structural issues with the pipe and that there was no work needed from him. He did find that in the 6 in section of the pipe there were some roots apparent and that would require annual maintenance to keep them cleaned out. Since the 6 in section was on the neighbor's side he let me know there were 2 options. 1) have the neighbor install a clean-out for the 6 in section, or 2) have a root hog service done. Since the neighbor was not able to move forward with the 6 in clean-out I choose to go forward with the root hog service. Mike referred me to another company who he had worked with in the past and they were able to come out the same day to complete the job. That ended up costing ~$500. Mike's estimate was free. If the line would have needed to be re-piped it would have been over $3000 and so in the end Mike saved me over $2500 and in addition the ability to get the problem resolved the same day.

I would recommend Mike's services to anyone needing to have work done on their sewer line.

Water in the basement...what to do next?  Called a subcontractor friend of mine and then called 3 sewer line repair companies listed on a well known site that starts with Y.  Sewer Friendly not only answered their phone (on Saturday), but were the only ones to come out and take a look at the issue.  Within an hour I had a clear picture of the problem (camera scope),  an estimate of what it will cost as well as an idea of what else they might run into, and a great attitude towards getting this issue resolved.  The trust had begun.
On Monday their back hoe was here digging and SF had it fixed that afternoon, with the only holdup to closing the hole in the ground was the visit from the city inspector.  That came on Tuesday morning, then the 8' deep by 15' long hole got closed and the yard was returned to surprisingly good condition.  My wife and her yard-proud father were even pleased at how the front yard was returned to good form.
And while Mike's workers were idle waiting for the inspector to show, they gave my sprinkler system valves a tune up and explained how to best optimize them, all at no additional cost.  Each one of them seemed to have a sub-specialty, outside of their excavation and piping expertise.
I would not hesitate to refer Mike and his company to anyone.  He and his guys were honest, hard working, and respectful from start to finish,

Mike and his team just did a project on my house in Wallingford. I got three quotes, but chose Mike because when he came out to give me a quote he spent a bunch of time explaining things to me, rechecked the info I gave him with a few different pipe cameras, etc. to make sure he knew what the job was about, and promptly provided a professional quote. His team showed up right away and were unfailingly good natured every time I talked to them. There were a few unexpected issues with the project (location of the gas line, more roots than we thought, etc) but Mike kept me informed, was really positive, and stuck to his original quote. I enjoyed working with these guys and I'd recommend them.
