My sister and I had extremely positive experiences with these guys so this review is from both of us. I called Norfolk Plumbing after a competitor was rude (when they wanted to come mid-day for an estimate with no notice and I was at work and said it'd be 15 mins before I could get home) and never called me back the next day to reschedule after claiming they would.  In contrast, these guys were professional and transparent and timely. They gave me a quote over the phone. They also went to my sister's for an estimate because they couldn't do it on the phone and were able to do the work right there for a fair price. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a plumber!

Update: there was an issue with the adjacent bathtub not draining after they left so I called the next day(on a Saturday) and someone came out, fixed it, and didn't charge me anything. My already good experience got better!

We had a leak in our ceiling from the upstairs bathroom.  The guys came out and assessed they would need a contractor to take a look first before they sawed through our bathroom floor to explore further.  They wanted to ensure the floor was structurally sound.  Contractor came out and assessed the floor didn't need to be cut and called the plumbers back out to fix the leak located in the radiator pipes which were boxed in near floor.  The guys fixed it quick and I still have my floor intact.  I really appreciate them taking their time and evaluating everything before making a rash decision which would have left us with more damage.  These guys are courteous and professional!  Price was very reasonable too.  My go to when my 100 year old home needs plumbing.

I had a pipe leaking into my basement & gave them a call. They said it was a toilet, so I paid $300 to reset the toilet, which was not the issue and the pipe continued to leak. A few simple checks of other faucets upstairs could have easily told them it was NOT a toilet. So $300 wasted dollars later, I had them come back again. Probably should have called someone else at that point. The guy who came back said they would need to bust out a few walls, and that his supervisor would contact me. A week later, I have not heard a peep from anyone to follow up. Water was continuing to leak into my basement, so I contacted another company who came out the next day and fixed it, without having to bust out a few walls...... Save yourself time & money, call someone more professional that will actually take the time to research the issue and follow up.

I bought a  home owner protection policy with the extra super duper protection for my plumbing hvac system etc,  the protection folks sent out a company whose serviceman/child stated basically the water damage on my first floor ceiling looked old and when he pushed on the ceiling if it was a leak his finger would go through it and then asked me if I want him to cut a hole in the ceiling to find out what was leaking..  I stated do you think the leak is just going to stop on it's own? Okay so I paid the $99 service fee and sent him on his way after he informed me I would have to remove my upstairs floor tiles for him to repair the leak from the tub.  Jeff from Norfolk Plumbing fixed the problem in less than 30 minutes no floor tiles removed and  accepted my yelp voucher and wished me a Happy ProBowl Sunday Lesson:  home protection policies are useless and for any plumbing needs call Norfolk Plumbing

About 3 months ago I had Norfolk Plumbing come out and do two things: unclog my kitchen sink and fix the drippy shower faucet.

Kitchen sink: plumber snaked it out. About an hour after he left, I turned on the water to do dishes and water comes pouring out of the cabinet under the sink. The cause of the leak wasn't the plumber's fault as it had rusted through, but I was very frustrated that he hadn't run the water to check the plumbing when he completed his work. Now the sink was down for another few days until we could coordinate them coming back out. They returned to fix the rusted through pipe. Again they left and briefly afterward I found two joints leaking on the new pipes. I had to call them back out AGAIN to have them tighten/add more plumber's tape to the joints. It took a week for me to use the sink again through all this. In addition to losing 3 days of work. This is very poor workmanship. You should always check over what you have done to ensure that the work was done completely and fixed the issue. It's ridiculous that this took three trips.

The drippy shower faucet: 1 week ago the faucet started leaking worse than it did before the plumber supposedly fixed it. This time I learned how to fix it and I fixed it myself. The shower handle is better than before. It used to be hard to turn and you had to crank it so that it wouldn't leak (remember, this was after the plumber 'fixed' it). Now it turns smoothly and it stops right where it is supposed to with NO leaks. Needless to say, I won't ever use this company again (and now I know how to fix my own leaky faucets).

UPDATE 2022: Kitchen Sink - two of the pipes came apart and flooded the cabinet below. Since my experience with this company, I've learned to do my own basic plumbing. So I look at the piping and find that the gentleman who performed my initial work cut one of the pipes too short and tried to make it work. Well, it worked for a few years. But now I am fixing his work. I really can't believe I paid them for this service and I am glad I've taken the time to learn basic plumbing so I no longer have to pay for service like this.

Maybe you should tell your drivers that instead of cutting people off trying to get to work on time that they should leave a tad earlier. Not only did your driver cut me off he then decided to pull into our parking to back up and delay me from entering my parking lot.
Real Nice!

bad day. plumbers from Tweedle Dee & Dumber came. did nothing. said we caint go under ur house! and we the caint go upn on the roof cause we didnt bring the BIG ladder and uh its ICY too. in other words: did nothing, insisted on their service fee for doing nothing and left. thank god our next call was to Norfolk Air. john and his cohort listened, analyzed, went up on the NOT AT ALL ICY roof (for which NO ONE needs a big ladder as its a 1950s one story ranch. these guys jetted out the clog and voila! we once again had a working water/sewer system  pricey but totally worth it. do yourself a favor call and ask for John. cool guy, good guy.

Used their services for the first time for a simple job:  replace the flushing mechanism & parts within the toilet tank.  I told them it wasn't urgent, and they asked when I'd like them to come out.  I requested the afternoon of the next day, and they came out as scheduled, calling me in advance.  The plumber looked at the toilet, told me the options for replacement parts, and said it would take less than an hour to do the job (1 hour is their minimum charge).  He finished the job in about 45 minutes.  He took away the old/failing parts and was very neat.

I will definitely use Norfolk Plumbing again.  They were very professional, responsive, and the price was reasonable.

Yesterday I discovered a leak under my house with 2 of standing water. When I talked to Lisa she got someone out there immediately to shut off the water and scheduled someone to come out to fix it as soon as they were available. In the meantime a friend sent someone over to fix it. I called and cancelled with Lisa. She called me back the next day to make sure everything was ok and to tell me there was no charge for shutting off my water although I had offered to pay for it the day before. Dealing with them was so easy. If I do need services in the future I will definitely call Norfolk Plumbing A+++

I unfortunately had no choice but to use Norfolk plumbing because that is who the apartment complex that I live in uses.  The first day they came out because I had no hot water the plumber claimed to have fixed my problem but I came home to no hot water again.  I called around 11pm because I had just gotten of work and my baby needed a bath they said they will page someone.  The next morning after hearing nothing i called my apartment complex again they said they would call the plumber.  Norfolk plumbing called and stated they were on their way. My husband was home and I wanted to make sure they got there while he was there they told me noon twenty till no plumber.  I called them to see where he was at and a woman answered the phone she immediately gave me attitude.  She was absolutely disgusting and rude telling me he was in ingleside (20 minutes) from me and she was not going to discuss the issue with me anymore.  When I own I will never use Norfolk plumbing I am disgusted with the way I was treated.  The plumber did arrive around 1220 and did fix the problem.

The last time they were called to pump the basement they left over 200 gallons water for us to shop vac up. They did the same this time and used brooms that belonged to me and left them in the water. They are completely disrespectful and do sub par work!

No, no, no, no! We called these guys twice in six months because of a leak from the upstairs bathroom with a leak on the ceiling downstairs. They came out once, said they fixed the problem and charged us $150, three months later, we had to call them again for the same issue. They came out again and said the piece needed to be replaced so they charged $350 this time. Two months later, I have a huge water stain on the ceiling again and when I called desperate, to ask for some to come and fix the issue once and for all, they tried to charge me $300/hr for emergency rate. They couldn't fix it properly and then they want more money to come and look at it so they can tell me it's not the same issue again and charge me some more on top of that??
Very unprofessional and disappointing! Shame on you for not admitting it was a poor job to begin with!

I called to see if I could get a discount if the company would flush the electric water heaters of all owners in the small condominium building. They said they don't recommend flushing electric water heaters. The lady kinda seem surprised I asked & repeated it back to me. What?  I told them I wasn't comfortable doing business with a plumbing company that questioned flushing a water heater. Every homeowner knows (or should know) that sediment builds up in all water heaters and has to be flushed out. Gas is worse than electric. So, there you have it. I called American Mechanical & they gave a great price of $75.

They were scheduled to come after 2:30 p.m., but called wanting to come at 2:00 when we were not home. We finally called at 5:00 p.m., and they told us they got caught up on a job and wouldn't be able to come that day. Failure to give us a call was disappointing. Same thing happened the next day.

We had an emergency Thanksgiving weekend, water heater burst with water pouring into our carpeted living room area.  Norfolk Plumbing immediately returned the call and had guys out quickly to cap and stop the leak and than replaced the water heater first thing the next morning.  They were prompt and professional, they were an absolute life saver.  Definitely will use them again and so will the Owner of our property.  He was praising how fast they responded and the professionalism displayed.  Thank you for a job well done!

Norfolk Plumbing is currently upgrading the sewer system in our neighborhood.  This experience has been horrible.  The job started in June and this is the end of September and there is not an end in sight.  To say they are unprofessional is an understatement.  The staff at Norfolk Plumbing while working in our neighborhood have entered our property without as much as a knock on the door to ask permission let alone let us know whats going on.  They leave the big gulps on our window wills, smoke in front of our homes and have left such an incredible mess.  Also, the profane language we are subjected to while they are working in our alley ways is so offensive.  Last but not least, we have a beautiful port-a-potty in front of our homes.  The local homeless population use it frequently.  It is set up right next to a bench for convenience.  The city of Norfolk contracted this company.  On a personal level, I would never call them.

EXCELLENT!!!  I needed help with an issue with my shower and the very pleasant woman who answered the phone was able to suggest a few things that I try before having a plumber come out.  Well, it worked!!  So I was able to have a hot shower with only 15 minutes of my own time spent!  I know that if I ever need a plumber in the future I will be calling Norfolk Plumbing Inc.!!

I am actually disgusted with how poorly I was treated on the telephone by a woman called Lisa when I called this afternoon to inquire about my appointment. The appointment window was 12-4pm and no one had shown as of 4pm.

My husband took the afternoon off of work to be here for the appointment. Someone from Norfolk Plumbing called him this afternoon and asked to change the appointment to tomorrow and he refused because that would mean him taking another five hours off of work, which he can't do. So, when I called to find out about where the plumber was, I gave Lisa my address and she immediately got ugly with me, such an offensive, indignant attitude! She informed me of the emergencies that the plumber was dealing with - mind you, all in the most horrible tone - and that it's a Monday afternoon and that they were super busy. I get that. All I was asking was when the guy would get here. She replied 'today', I asked what time, and she rails into me that she can't give me a time and that he'd be here today. Her tone and attitude were so bad that I actually interrupted her to ask her if she knew how awful she was behaving and how unprofessional she was. She clearly did not care. Never in my life have I been met with such a vile person on the other end of the telephone. If I ever spoke to a client the way she spoke to me I surely would be fired.

Of course I want to cancel the service - routine sewer line maintenance that they performed last year for us - but that would mean more time off work which would only hurt us more. It's now 4:54 pm, it's dark outside, and still no sign of the plumber.

I will never, ever use this service again. The plumber may do a fantastic - or terrible - job and neither would matter to me because of the hideous encounter I had with Lisa at Norfolk Plumbing.

I am calling the owners tomorrow to make a formal complaint. Hopefully they'll take swift action to correct this liability to their seemingly-successful business.

Update: The plumber called at around 6:00 pm saying he'd be a the house in approximately 25 minutes. My husband said he'd rather he be at the house when he said he would and the guy got nasty and said he never said he would be there at any time, that he goes to each job as he's dispatched. This means that even though we had an appointment, we were the last job of the day. This makes no sense to me and further proves their unprofessionalism. My husband asked him if he was giving him a hard time, and they guy was just as belligerent as the woman at the office, so he just told him to not come and that we'd just use a professional business, not this group of children. So, there you have it folks. STAY AWAY. BEWARE. DO NOT BOTHER TO CALL THIS 'COMPANY'.

I've used this plumbing company many times over the years, and they've always performed good, reliable work. Had them out today to do a shower faucet replacement and two sink repairs, and all were done perfectly.
I will continue to use and recommend them.

Today was my first experience with Norfolk Plumbing, and it was a great one. Ridge and another gentleman from the company came by to fix a leaking toilet for me. They arrived on time, worked quickly to fix the problem, cleaned up after themselves and were both very pleasant and personable. They also had a lot of patience with my dog, Bailey, who insisted on trying to help them.

This is my first Yelp Review... which I think sort of demonstrates that I felt compelled to write it. I called with a series of items I needed done. I don't think the guy they sent was really picking up what I was putting down so I'm spending my Saturday trying to run a new fridge line under my house in my crawl space.

Recommendations:
1. When a customer asks a question. Answer it. I called and requested service and quotes. The scheduler assured me I would be given quotes in the plumbers notes that I could execute at a later date.
-For all three quotes I asked for I got the response well it would be 150 an hour plus materials. Guy, I understand that, but you're the professional, estimate how many hours it's going to take so I can budget for it.   Additionally that's a serious flaw in the business model, I get that if it's free a bunch of people will be wasting your time so you need to charge something but how about a 20 dollar flat estimate fee.
I was essentially charged 50 dollars (20 minutes) for noncommittal answers. Like say hey, there's a broken pipe behind that wall it would take us 2 hours to fix that and the pipe costs about this much, then I could say okay I need 320 to get that done. That is a quote and if you're wrong by 10 dollars oh well.

2. Be on time for your own appointment.

3. Read the notes about why you're at a house. You weren't there to snake the drains, that was a side venture. You were there to run a new line for a fridge, not turn the water on and have the old dirty line spray water on my floor. He told me if he were running it he would use copper. It's like yeah, so run the copper dude, that's why you're here. In the end it was just so laughable that I let the guy go once he turned the water back off.

Sorry if I'm coming across frustrated but I am spending my Saturday coated in insulation in a crawl space trying to figure out a fridge line connection because you didn't do it.

That said, my drains were all snaked and have never drained so well. So 2 stars instead of 1.

Great work. Two plumbers from Norfolk Plumbing (Chris and Steve) were on time, honest and skilled at their work. They replaced several corroded pipes in less than an hour. And they were very respectful. I will be recommending Norfolk Plumbing to all of my friends and family - great work!

I requested work done in October. I called to get an update on what was done (my rental property) and Betty indicated she couldn't get an update--the paperwork hadn't been done. I called about a week later and was told they were behind and still hadn't done the bill. I indicated I had moved. It took four months to finally get a bill and by that time, my tenants and I weren't sure what had been done. No apology for the lack of follow-up but received another bill the following month threatening to send me to collection if I didn't pay immediately. Clients are entitled to information on the work done and a timely bill, not harassment after poor service.
