I discovered a leak in our floor, believed it to be in/under the concrete slab foundation and called Atlantic Heating and Cooling in Virginia Beach on 3 Nov 2015 and spoke to Kim and Dominique. Kim told me they were not very good at identifying leaks and for me to call American Leak Detection, who told me they could come out in 7 days on 10 Nov. Not wanting to wait a week, I called Atlantic Heating and Cooling back and they told me they could send someone out. On 4 Nov a plumber from Betty's Plumbing came out, looked at the floor, and said, You definitely have a leak in the foundation and should call American Leak Detection. We'll be right behind them to fix it after they find it. After a total of 5 minutes in my house, he left and Atlantic Heating and Cooling charged me $95.
I understand there to be a charge when a serviceman makes as house call, but charging the whole $95 for 5 minutes of looking at the floor, not doing what he was supposed to do (i.e., find the leak...or even attempt to the find the leak) is pathetic! Call someone else.
