Tiho Plumbing And Rooter

A 3-year-old, a toilet and a whole roll of toilet paper do not go well together.  After plunge, plunge, plunge, it cleared - but, we developed a leak that came through the ceiling to the kitchen below.  At the same time, my old water heater decided to start a slow drip out the bottom.  I called around and was quoted ridiculous prices - some way too much and others so low, I didn't trust them.  Then I checked Yelp and saw Tiho had a very good rating.  So I called him.  

We set an appointment for today at 3.  Unfortunately, my cell phone was charging and I did not get his calls or texts to make sure I was home.  He assumed I wasn't here and went out on another job.  It was after 5 when I saw he had tried to contact me and I text him back.  He was already home after a long day.  He asked if he could come in the morning, but I wasn't going to be home.  So, even though I didn't answer his phone calls/texts, and he was a good 30 minutes away with traffic, he came right out!  I knew he wasn't going to be happy, I know I wasn't.  But, when I opened the door, he had a big smile and asked....who is more unhappy right now - you or me??  We both laughed and he gave me a hug.  

This plumber is great.  He got right to work.  He had my water heater draining while he fixed the leak in the toilet upstairs.  He gave me advice on the bathroom remodel I will be doing shortly and told me to make sure the contractor does certain things before laying tile, etc.  He had the heater installed in no time and explained how it works.  He showed me  the corrosion on the old water heater and explained why my pressure wasn't great.  He also took apart my kitchen faucet to do some adjusting and improve the water pressure when he noticed it was running slower than it should.  All this took him an amazingly short time and he cleaned up.  Most would have rushed through the job to get out and back home, but he took the time to do the little extras.  For $1400 he did a lot of work and I couldn't be happier.  If I ever need a plumber again, I know who I will call.  He's good, he takes the time to explain everything, and he charges a very reasonable price.  

He also explained to me why he always calls first before coming over.  He's had people make appointments, he blocks off the time and drives to their home only to find they either forgot or changed their minds and aren't home.  So, it made sense to me why he didn't come when I didn't answer.  Sorry Tiho.  Next time I need a plumber, I will definitely call you and I promise to answer my phone when you call to make sure I'm here!

I used them and they were great! Someone got to my toilet the next day and fixed it quickly and then just paid through a cash app and it was done! Super fast and easy! I recommend Jonathan!

May you rest in peace. Our family hasn't t been able to find anyone as honest and hardworking as you were. You treated us as family from the moment we met. You let my little boys watched you fix our issues and explained everything you did. You were so patient. When I went to pull them away so they don't bother you, you said they were no bother.

I was washing my dishes on Sunday night and my sink starts backing up a bit.  I turn on my garbage disposal and it starts coming up the other sink.  Eh whatever I seen this happen before.  I walk away and about 5 min later, i hear a sound unlike any i've ever heard coming from my laundry room.  It was the sound of water splashing onto my floor.  Lots of water.  

I ran to the laundry room and saw a gush of water hitting the tiles and spreading fast.  Oh. My. Lord.

I'm a big do-it-yourselfer.  I've done tons of plumbing projects including sprinklers, showers, tubs, sinks, and even put in my own water softener system with a integrated whole-house filtration system.  But this is 7pm on a Sunday night and I'm not feeling the urge to run to Home Depot and messing around my plumbing system in the dark.  

I turned to my trusty Yelp for help in finding a good plumber in the area.  Tiho caught my eye with his 5 star reviews so i called him.  After debating on whether I should wait until Monday when the rates are a bit cheaper, I decided to just have him come right over so I don't have to lose sleep at night.  Within about 10 min, I heard a knock on my door.

The Russian stud cleared my clog well within the hour and I didn't have to stress about the long lines at Home Depot, nasty sewage, or working in the dark outside.  It was definitely worth the reasonable rates he charges and a good night's rest.

Tiho was EXCELLENT!!!  We called him with an emergency situation.  Leaking shower, water shut off.  He was out within an hour, identified and fixed the problem quickly.

We had a new gas range delivered and were disappointed that there was a gap of six inches between the back of the range and the wall. Our gas pipe was sticking out way too far.

We called Tiho mid-day, he was on a job in Santa Clara but said he could meet us back in Tracy at 4 to take a look. He was there on time, assessed the situation, had everything needed to complete the job in his truck, and was done within an hour!

He knows his stuff, provides GREAT customer service, and is just a really nice guy.

Update: 11/3- got word from another business that the owner was involved in an accident. Explains why I never received a response. I send my prayers to him and his family.

Tiho came to our house to within minutes to fix some issues we were having since we moved into a new house.  He took the time to look through all the plumbing in the house and give us reasons as to why we were having issues and fixed stuff on the spot which was awesome.  

He is reasonably priced and very professional.

Just wanted to follow up on Tiho's work. Living in the same house now for over 17 years we always had septic backup issues. Since Tiho did the repair I have had no more issues. Again thanks a bunch Tiho and keep up the GREAT work!

Tiho has earned my future business.  My tenant reported a leak; it was more than I could handle.

When we found a leak in our shower we looked for a plumber on yelp and decided to give Tiho a call.

Tiho came the same day to look at our shower. He was punctual and friendly. He looked at our situation (which was pretty severe) and gave us an explanation of what exactly was happening with the leak and what it would take to fix it. He took the time to explore different options and answer any questions that we had about each process. He is very honest.

Unfortunately, we didn't end up going with Tiho as we ended up finding a more practical solution, but I would totally call him back for any future plumbing needs.

Tiho did work for us for many years here in Tracy and my family is devastated. He was always such a nice person, took great pride in his work, and never tried to rip anyone off. He will be missed.

This guys is great, we have used him twice so far in the 2 years we've lived in Tracy. He's always been able to show up very promptly. He returns calls right away, and was very funny & fun to talk to while he was here. He knows what he's doing which is really nice! He gives great recommendations, and does an outstanding job!

If I could give him more stars, I would!  I called Tiho last night after 4pm to look at a leaky water heater.  He come over within 10 minutes and had the water heater replaced by 6pm!!!  He is a super nice guy and is great at what he does.  I will call him for ANYTHING plumbing in the future... without hesitation!

A very respectful and honest man, is who I see.  I had the same plumber for almost 24 years who I trusted completely but I think this gentleman is going to take his place now that the other plumber has retired!  I just hope he doesn't get too busy so that I have to wait in a long line for his help!

Oh my gosh!!!!  Ok - there is a lengthy, boring back-story, but the summary is I have been working with a different plumbing company for three day and have been without hot water the entire time.  I checked Yelp reviews for a new plumber and came across Tiho.  Again, Oh My Gosh!!!!  He came right away and was here for about one hour - I have hot water!  

If you are looking for a skilled, knowledgeable plumber that enjoys his work and charges a fair and reasonable price, Tiho is your man.

Outstanding quality work, we had a clog in the main septic line that was causing the upstairs bath to not drain, Tiho came right out, diagnosed the issue and just left after taking care of the issue..I would recommend Tiho Plumbing to anyone with plumbing issues...

Our new property management company hired Tiho to fix the garbage disposal and unclog the shower drain at our new place. He was fast, professional, friendly and tidy--he left no mess and even put all the stuff back under the kitchen sink when he was done! Within an hour, he replaced the garbage disposal and removed the nearly solid matter from the shower drain. Did I mention he also had to make a trip to Lowe's? Tiho is honest and hard working, and doesn't lolligag--he just gets the job done! If you hire another plumber, you are insane, because I'm telling you right now, Tiho is the only guy you should call!

Tiho Plumbing was awesome!  We had a leaking valve under the sink and we needed a plumber right away.  He said he would be at our place in 30 - 45 minutes.  He was here in less than 30 minutes.  Once we told him the problem, he had it fixed right away.  He was quick and very professional.

Amazing is all I can say about Tiho. We woke up yesterday morning with sewage in both our bath tubs and the toilets wouldn't flush, and all the sinks were plugged up. It was horrible. I called Tiho around 4:00 and he answered right away and said he would do everything it took to get to us. He was there Shortly after and found out the one of the main sewage pipes to the house was blocked and within minutes was working and resolved the problem.

He is an extremely happy,  pleasant man, very honest and I will use him in all of any of our future potential needs. While he was working my wife and I  were eating dinner with our kids and they kept trying to ask if Tiho could eat with us. They loved him.
So all in all, our experience was the best imaginable under the circumstances.

Tiho is the best. We were right in the middle of a construction project when we discovered plumbing work done incorrectly. We called and were lucky to catch Tiho driving back into town. He did the work correctly and quickly which saved us from delays and increased cost. Tiho is the best!!!

There are not enough superlatives in the English (or any other) language to express the quality of Tiho's work or his character.  Tiho is an example of an exceptional person in addition to being an incredibly skilled tradesman.  He has restored my faith in those who profess to be contractors.

After being promised the sun, the moon, and the stars from another contractor, I was left with leaky  pipes, no water in the kitchen for 1.5 weeks, no replacement of faucets and disposal (as per the agreement), and the over-stove microwave sitting on the counter.  

I made the decision to call Tiho and he swooped in like an angel and fixed the problems caused by the other guys.  Not only did he solve the obvious issues, Tiho identified potential problems caused by short-cuts taken by the other guys.  Oh my gosh...there are no words to express my gratitude to Tiho.

I met Tiho when he was doing some work for my sister. He was pleasant and friendly, and my sis and her boyfriend raved about his skill and his work ethic. Given the other reviews he's gotten on this site, they aren't the only ones who felt that way. I gave him a call when I was having problems with a sprinkler flood (not indoor plumbing, but water/pipe related all the same). He came right out, assessed the problem, and told me he could fix it (whew!).

Tiho did the work skillfully and efficiently, explaining what the problem was and how he was fixing it. His demeanor immediately put me at ease; he's so warm and personable, yet I could tell he'd take care of the problem, with no BS. He did great work, quickly and efficiently, and even gave me a referral for some general contracting work I'm thinking about having done (given his own character and work ethic, I have no qualms about trusting his judgement on a referral). His bill (as others have mentioned) was EXTREMELY reasonable.

It's not difficult to understand why Tiho has earned so much admiration (and 5-star reviews) from others, if he treated them as well as he treated me. He is a skilled workman who takes pride in his work, and who does what he says he'll do. He's clearly not afraid of getting his hands dirty (which is why you'll find he seals his deals with a fist bump rather than a handshake), and he's charming without any hint of schmooze. He's a great guy in general, and has definitely earned my loyalty!

We have had Tiho work on several jobs in our home from gas lines, to installing pex to re-routing plumbing. He is fast and efficient. His prices are very fair and he is focused on the job at hand. We have recommended him to several friends and family and everyone has had a positive experience.

Since my last review we have had Tiho do work at our house for a second issue, two of my sisters have hired him for plumbing issues at their homes, and my boyfriend's parents hired him while they were remodeling their bathrooms. He continues to amaze me with his integrity, personable nature and kindness. All parties had great experiences with him as well, have recommended him to others and will make him the first on their list if they need a plumber in the future.

Tiho provided quick and professional service when we needed our water heater replaced.  I called him after hours and he set up an appointment the next day (an appointment, not a 4 hour window like most!)  He was on time, professional, and explained everything very thoroughly.  We will definitely do business with him again and I would highly recommend his services.

About a month ago while I was working on my rental the darn knob from the tub came off when I pulled it on.  Not only did the knob come off but water started pouring out uncontrollably.  I didn't have an urge to get it repaired as it was a Saturday so I shut the water off the whole house and decided I would take care of it later and headed home to Castro Valley.

Monday I hit the Tracy Yellow pages and although I got phone responses everyone was busy.  So I opened up Yelp and saw the stars for Tiho.  I was able to call him right away and he was waiting for me in Tracy 45 minutes later.  It took him a very short while to remove the old parts, go to the store and get new parts, and install.  With all that waiting for me,  running for parts, and putting everything together I could not believe what my bill was!

Let me say that I have never done this with any tradesman before but after I paid his bill I also gave him a tip.  Well worth the price of the job and also getting to know a real nice guy.

Fortunately, he told me he not only services the Tracy area  but also the Castro Valley area.  Now I am thinking of using him for any  plumbing problems and also to use him for an upcoming project that will need gas lines installed.

I wish there were more than 5 stars cause he deserves them!!!

Oct. 10': Absolutely the best contractor I have ever had do work in my home. I've had a lot of work done. He's professional, considerate, intelligent, works hard and efficiently, gives a fair price, does high quality work, and leaves the place clean. No flaky contractor here, he keeps his word and stands by his work. I had extensive re-plumbing in the kitchen, a gas line installed and a mixer + shower fixture replacement done. He cut all the drywall in the center of the studs so they could be re-inserted without having to add backing. My general contractor friend was very impressed by his work. Don't even think twice when considering a plumber or debating on another bid. He's it. He came highly recommended by my family in Pleasanton. I wish he did more types of work as the quality is so great. Update Jan. 11: After my kitchen cabinet install Tiho installed the Gas range, disposal, kitchen sink plumbing and dishwasher. Plus, plumbing modification for fridge water supply line to recess into into wall, allowing new fridge to fit. All the same great quality work! It would have taken twice as long for another plumber to do the work. He also came up with very quick and intelligent solutions to my range install, as my cabinets were too high, also my faucet install as my granite cut outs were too close to the bar counter. Tiho replaced a leaking water line to a toilet tank, replaced a flapper on another of my bathrooms, and fixed a dishwasher that kept shooting water onto my sink all in little over an hour and a half. He would have been done even quicker if he didn't have to stop at home depot to get some parts. Very efficient. Good quality work. Good price.

We had Tiho based on his yelp rating and were not disappointed.  He came when scheduled and did an amazing job installing new faucets, fixing the main valve coming into the house, replacing toilets and traps.  The house was sold as it, and Tiho did one amazing job.  He used only top quality materials and yet his price was within reason.We had a plumber for 21 years and he is no longer available as he has too much work.  I just hope Tiho keeps us as customers as he was excellent. I would recommend him without qualification.  He works hard and is very professional. Overall service was beyond anything I could expect.  He is as good as it gets.

I was looking for a plumber on Yelp to replace a tub spout. There weren't many reviews from plumbers, so I didn't have a large selection to choose from. One thing that I did notice was Tiho Plumbing. All of the reviews were 5-Stars. I went to Tiho's website and saw the hours of service which was 9am-5pm. I called at 8:15 and was going to leave a message, when Tiho answered. I explained that I purchased a replacement tub spout from Home Depot, but wasn't able to attach it correctly. He said he had to go to Dublin and then come back to pick up some supplies. I told him that the spout is almost all the way on, being only short by about 1/2. I told him that it would only take him about 15 minutes to complete the job. He said he'd be over in 15 minutes. Tiho arrived, looked at what I screwed up, and fixed it in less than 30 minutes. He was fast, friendly and charged a fair price. I highly recommend Tiho for plumbing services.

Called Tiho Sunday night around 8:30pm to schedule an appointment, and by the next day around 8am, he was at my front door. Tiho was very friendly and I enjoyed how we got to know each other while he worked on the sink's garbage disposal. Tiho arrived around 8am, assessed the leak from the garbage disposal, he left to get the parts, came back, worked on it and was done by 9:45am. I truly appreciate Tiho's quick response from showing up first thing in the morning, and getting the job done from start to finish in less than 2 hours. Came home last night and saw that my irrigation plumbing connected to my main water line was spraying water everywhere.  Was forced to turn off the water to the entire house. I called Tiho and left a message to have him call me.  Tiho returned my call early this morning and came by this afternoon. Tiho explained the problem (Landscaper used the wrong piping/fittings).  Tiho was honest, very professional and friendly.  I talked to him the entire time he was working at my house because he's an interesting man with a very interesting background. He worked hard to complete the job.  He is truly an example of the American Dream.  A hard worker making an honest living. Next time I need a good honest plumber, I will call Tiho Plumbing.

You could tell Tiho was completely trustworthy, just by speaking with him.   This was confirmed when my wife and I met him in person, and then further verified by the quality of work that he did.   Tiho is simply 'one of the good guys' and did excellent work for us.

Tiho Maric, a plumber, had worked for our general contractor, Steve Pribble, in converting our gas top stop from electric to gas.  He also upgraded our outside gas line to comply with earthquake guidelines.  His work really impressed us, and we took his card for future use.  Well, we had done work around our fireplace, covering the brick with granite from Sosa, and obtaining a mantel and covering from East Bay Fireplace, San Ramon.  Both my wife and I are allergic to smoke fumes, even from Duraflame logs.  We discussed our problem with Tiho, and he offered to convert our fireplace to gas once the fireplace work was done.  We had him do it yesterday, and within 7 hours he installed a separated gas line in our garage with connections to our fireplace.  I had purchased a dual gas burner at Lowes, and he installed it, too.  His work was immaculate and done very carefully.  He takes extreme pride in his work, and did a wonderful job.  The fireplace, with gas logs, vermiculite and glowing embers, works extremely well, and will certainly help to warm up our living room come winter.  He even did a patch-up job on our stucco around the outside gas line.  His price was very, very fair.  I would highly recommend him for any plumbing or gas line needs.

Tiho came to our home because of course, a plumbing emergency . He arrived within 20 minutes  and got to work straight away. The issue we had was not as straight forward as we had hoped, he located the blockage and fully described what needed to be done, after a quick run to our local Ace store (another plus in my mind, not a box store but, locally owned franchise) he was back and got to work, he didn't even mind me watching what he was doing ( I have worked in the home repair industry a long time and have come across my share of contractors that make up repairs) he also took the time to show me the old pipe after removal. He then cleaned up the mess left from the tub and sink backing up and washed down our front porch where he accessed the kitchen clean out. He is very much a gentleman, pleasant, easy to talk to, hard working self employed professional. All in all an extremely enjoyable emergency! PS..., Our landlord is also very pleased he is adding him to his list of contractors to use again, so I am also figuring his prices are not bad either...

I called Tiho last minute on a Saturday afternoon because my dual kitchen sinks were not draining. I had family coming over for dinner later that evening and there was jus no way I could cook dinner in a clean kitchen with a sink full of dirty water and I definitely wasn't going to wash dishes in the bathroom! Unfortunately, but to NO surprise, my apartment complex's maintenance failed to answer any of my calls at all that morning and even their emergency line was left unanswered after several calls (scary I know)! But that property management company is the opposite of this great review. Anyways, Tiho came out right away, he identified the issue, gave me some great tips to avoid the problem again, and was very professional and kind. I had never called a plumber and didn't know any local plumbing business by name, but google and several great yelp reviews led me to this man, and job well done. By the way, I will be reimbursed by my stupid property management company on Monday, but his charge for the visit won't break the bank, good to know in case I'm a future home owner in need of a plumber :)

I am Mr. Fixit and can do almost anything as long as it does not include water. When my water heater of over 15 years in age began showing signs of leaking I thought I'd give it the old college try and fix it myself. After a few quick yanks on the pipe with my wrench, I had an even bigger leak and realized the problem was not a pipe but the entire water heater. Like you, I looked here in Yelp and found Tiho Plumbing with 5 stars and 42 reviews. After reading each and every review I called Tiho at 9:30 AM and gave him my tale of woe. He said he'd be right over, and within 15 minutes he was there, ready to work. He quoted me a reasonable price, I agreed, and he began work at once. He worked very quickly and efficiently to remove the old unit (which he hauled away!) and install the new unit. It is 1:30 PM and my unit is already heating the water for my much-deserved next shower. Tiho was great and I think the 5 stars he got from everyone else is well-deserved. He did not cut any corners, but did everything accurately and according to code. I watched most of what he did, and he did not even charge me extra for being in his way. I think he did an outstanding job and I am pleased to add my 5-star rating to the roster of happy patrons. I must add that I was initially worried about dealing with a plumber because of past experiences, but Tiho has put those fears to rest. Like others before me, I would give him more than 5 stars if I could. I have posted his phone number in my address book ... he is the only one I'll ever need to call.
