Reviews
Thank you Mr. Rooter for a very pleasant service experience. After awakening to no hot water and a vey cold shower, I contacted your office and you dispatched a team to my home that day.
Daisy and Jarred arrived when they said they would, were professional, neat in appearance and extremely pleasant. Their knowledge was impressive, they did not complain having to access my very hot attic and I loved the booties they wore over their shoes!
Thank you Natalie for sending a great team.

Luke was my plumber to move a gas line from area to the next to accommodate my washer and dryer. It was a very tricky move and I did require several connections but he did advise me more connections meant the more chances of the leak. We ultimately planned out the best way to do this and he didn't give me any problems with how I needed to be done. The office staff always called to confirm and let me know whenever they were coming out and they were always on time and took their time. I'll give me more stars if I could! They were also very reasonable because the price was by the job not by the hours and they gave me a military discount.

Refused to provide any estimate, no new work added. Presented an outrageous bill at the end. When work was performed improperly brought giant fans out to try to dry carpet in her bedroom caused by plumbing leak, thank you. Will that fix her walls? Will keep updating, don't let your family member be exposed to this company!!

I had them come out to quote a small job. I thought it was maybe a half day project. They quoted about $2000 for the job. It was 99% labor as I had already bought the fixtures that I wanted. I said no thanks and did the project myself and it ended up taking only about 2 hours. That comes out to nearly $1000/hr. I can understand if a company has a minimum job price but that was never communicated. When I scheduled the consultation I notified them of what I wanted so they knew it was not a huge job and did not notify me of any minimums. They charge a $120(ish) service call fee which will be rolled into any work you have done. I understand that companies have to do this but it seems a little dishonest to charge that fee and then show up with a quote for $1000/hr in labor. I gave the company my feedback and they tried to justify the high price by pointing to labor cost increases and the fact that they had to buy a new truck last year. I also completely understand current inflation but I don't think it's at $1000/hr. I've recently had other plumbing jobs done at work that were no where close to this price. I certainly don't know the details of quoting plumbing work but I think I can safely say that this company is way above what is reasonable.

Had a nice lady and her apprentice come over and work on a few things I just can't anymore . They gave me an estimate almost right away I said ok and they went to work immediately. The apprentice was on his toes and replaced a few things for me and even showed me what was wrong and how everything worked so if I ever had anything happen I knew what to look for and I really appreciated that but when I went to go check on the plumber I found her asleep under my bathroom sink not to professional and not a way to lead... but after a little bit the plumber was able to get to work and replace the facet in my bathroom as well. They do outstanding work but a little sleepy.

Stay away from this plumbing company. If AHS assigns them to service your home, be prepared to pay big $$$ and even more than you were quoted once they arrive to service your home. They will also find a way to be excluded from your warranty to guarantee out of pocket costs. If you insist on using them, I recommend you have a plumber go out first for a free quote and then compare what this company says about the work you need done.
My parents decided to replace the three toilets in their house and they called Mr Rooter and they couldn't be more pleased with that choice. Buddy, the technician/plumber came out to give them an estimate and gave them four options. After deciding on which option installation was set up almost immediately. The crew showed up and were very friendly, went straight to work and completed the job very quickly. They were very careful moving through the house and took great care in keeping the work areas clean. My parents were very happy with the whole experience. I highly recommend Mr. Rooter of Montgomery county for all your plumbing needs.
These people are crooks!!!! The salesman made my stopped up sewer line sound serious. He first took me for a couple of thousand dollars but by the end I was out almost $20,000 and did not need all of the work they did for way too much money. Stay away from Rotor Rooter of Montgomery County.

I have never been so unhappy with a service as I have been today. What was supposed to have started a reliable relationship with your company 5 years ago has turned into a nightmare for my house and family. Five years ago we paid for a preferred membership and horizontal copper piping to be replaced at recommendation of our technician, as he had been out more than once to repair pin hole leaks in our piping. Three weeks ago, while my husband and I were on vacation, our son discovered a ceiling leak in his bathroom. Much to our surprise, it was a horizontal copper pipe run we thought had been replaced. Not only were we told our membership had expired (We received no prior notification it was due), but that the previous work had not been completed. The manager on duty cut me a deal: For no charge, he would allow the technician to cut out and replace the section of pipe leaking for no charge. Repairing the sheet rock and drywall needed to be cut would be on my own expense (No referral was given). Last night around around 11 PM my husband and I found another leak above our son's bedroom, which is connected next to his bathroom. Same pipe run. This morning I am promised that someone will call between now and 1 PM to come assess the damage. Meantime I have no running water to shower, wash, or even flush a toilet. Had that pipe been replaced initially three weeks ago as I originally requested (but was refused), I would not be writing this complaint. Better yet, had the original work we had contracted been completed (only 60 feet of horizontal piping was replaced...we paid for 100), I might not be having any of this conversation. You pride yourselves and brag about your excellent service to your clients....where is it? What should have been done was an owning up to work unfinished....not a stop gap repair job to get a client off your back. When the leak was first inspected, why were we not told there were other weak spots (as we were by a different technician 5 years ago that prompted the original contract)? You cannot tell me an experienced plumber would not know to look for such things, especially after looking up our history. I sincerely hope we can come to a resolution.
Addendum: 4 pm
Will now give 3 1/2 stars. Our technician, Daisy, showed up within the agreed time frame. Though there was still some disagreement with what we had originally paid for and had done 5 years ago, she was able to obtain credit for the previous work, as well as a large discounted price toward finishing the remainder of the house. She fixed the current leak so we could have running water until she comes next week for the full job. Even gave us a referral to company they work with for the water damage resulting from it. I will finish this review once the full work is finished. If this recovery service continues as it has, the star rating will increase

My mother-in-law called on a Thursday requesting service for our gas line which keeps shutting off. They informed her that they would arrive on Friday between 4pm and 7pm. No one ever called or showed up. After speaking with them on Monday they said there was no record of her calling. Despite the fact that I was sitting next to her when she called and her phone clearly had a record of her calling. No apology. No accepting responsibility for their screw up. They just asked what they could do for her now. Of course she said they could do nothing because she would never use their services again. Given their poor scores and our experience this past week, I would highly recommend a different company.
Very professional service. Dixie and Jace found a loose joint which has been in the house since it was constructed. Their detail to service was evident as they cleaned the kitchen drain. When complete, the drain ran like it was new.

My experience with Mr. Rooter excellent. A very nice and professional technician was dispatched to our home. They did an excellent job of coordinating a time convenient for me. Additionally, the technician did a spot on job of diagnosing the issue as it was not apparent from simple observation.
We will definitely call them again should the need arise.
The company responded quickly to our hot water heater emergency at Thanksgiving and installed a new hot water heater promptly. Unfortunately, one of the technicians was careless and stepped through the Sheetrock in the ceiling from the attic to a hallway during installation. It took 4 weeks and 5 visits to get it repaired. They gave us a discount on the hot water heater, but it took forever to have them fix the problem. Remind them to be careful in your home.
Natalie S. - First off, I did not call to set up an appointment for 5 days away. I don't where you got that number from. I called your office on 6/30/15 at 3:57pm and spoke with someone in your office for 3 minutes, making an appointment for 7/3/15 in the afternoon (that's 3 days away, not 5). I have a screenshot of my phone records that I would be happy to email you or post here to show you I'm not just making this all up. If you don't have a record of me calling, maybe that is the cause of why your company has such a poor reputation for keeping appointments.
And no, I do not have you confused with another company (which seems to be your go-to-excuse both here and on Google Reviews). I know because I left my review IMMEDIATELY after getting off the phone and being told my appointment was cancelled.
You, on the other hand, waited 3 whole months to respond to my complaint and then got me confused with another customer. Someone who has the EXACT same first name and last initial as me. Someone who made an appointment on the same day I was supposed to have mine. And someone who also had a problem with their water heater. Pretty huge coincidence don't you think? Either that or you just made up dates and an estimate in your previous reply.
Luckily I dodged a huge bullet when you guys never showed up. If you treat customers this badly when you don't even have their money yet, I can't even imagine the level of customer service you provide when customers have paid you!

When faced with plumbing problems in our home, we originally chose Mr. Rooter because of their philanthropic involvement in the community. Giving Back is important to us and we respect any company that also puts supporting our local community high on the priority list. From the time we first contacted Mr.Rooter, through completion, every step along the way was flawless. We enjoyed every contact from every staff member. We can really tell that the staff enjoys what they do and that they appreciate their customers. The jobs have been done quickly and better than any company we have ever contracted with before. We can't say enough great things! Highly recommended!
I called Mr. Rooter for a toilet install estimate they sent two goobers, that from the moment they opened the door all I could smell was marihuana. They could hardly string two words together. I promptly sent them on their way

I recently had my entire 1930s home repiped. It was a difficult project as all the plumbing is underneath the house and it is a very tight space. I called several plumbers for estimates and Mr. Rooter sent out their technician Jeff. He was very professional and gave me a quote that was fair.
The project took longer than anticipated which was a bit stressful and on the occasion the people that answer the phones at the office are not the most up to date on the company policies but there was a person in the office by the name of Bridget who assured me that all would be taken care of and that the company is insured and bonded.
Overall, the project turned out well and I have peace of mind knowing that I am covered by a 5 year guarantee.
Bring it on winter!
Thank you!

Chris was very thorough and professional and repaired my broken water line on the same day. Good response by the company. I love the fact that for any future plumbing needs I will be working with Chris again. The only negative about this company is the pricing which I believe is higher than most as I have used other plumbers. But the five stars is really for Chris, I would give 4 stars to Mr. Rooter for pricing.
During our recent deep freeze, we lost water to our entire house due to a pipe burst at an outside spigot around noon. After numerous calls, we had resigned ourselves to the fact that every plumber around was overwhelmed with emergencies worse than ours and we would have to be without water for at least a day and a half. We got a call from Mr. Rooter around 9pm and were told that someone could be there within the hour. Twenty minutes later a technician was at our door. Jayce was knowledgeable, professional and friendly. The pipe was capped so that we had water to the house and he moved on to his next emergency. The faucet was replaced yesterday. We were extremely happy with the response from Mr. Rooter in our emergency situation.
I talked to someone over there a while back (J.B.) and asked a simple question about if someone was bring a generator. His immediate response was...Not unless you pay for it... Kind of tells you all you need to know about these people.

Way too expensive. The most expensive plumber I have ever heard of. We were charged $15,000.00 for a job the next plumber said should have cost 1/3 the price! Very disappointed in these people. Always get a second opinion.
I call Mr. Rooter as I had an emergency on my backyard, a sprinkler pipe was leaking, they couldn make it on the same day so they come first thing in the morning of the following day, in my oppinion the take the advantage of the situation and the charge for the replacement of a small piece of the pipe 300 + tax, the repair took 20 minutes + the y waiting time to get it dry.
The pipe was covered before with the thermal insulation but they didt put any when they finish, so if I dont do it before the winter time the pipe will probably ice and crack again.
it was my mistake to accept the price but due to the urgency of the situtation I though it was the only solution. Not happy at all with the price and neither with the finishing of the job.
Daniel
I cannot comment on the negative reviews, but we had a very good recent experience with these folks. We had a serious backup due to a blockage between house and septic. I called Mr Rooter at 9 am on a Saturday and the truck arrived by 1030 am. Technician was a nice guy named Gavin - he was extremely polite, knowledgeable and thorough. He carefully located the outside vent port, went in with the cleanout tool and then a video camera. Finished his work in about an hour, explained what he had done/found and then cleaned everything up. I thought the costs were very reasonable and I was delighted with the service quality and promptness.

Called Mr. Rooter of Montgomery County regarding issues with a toilet not flushing, bathtub not draining, and washing machine discharge line blockage. They arrive within a couple of hours and technician Andrea arrived to diagnose the problem. As suspected there was a blockage in the main drain line. Unfortunately the cleanout could not be located. This was not an issue with Mr. Rooter, this was an issue with the previous owners years of neglect covering up the cleanout with shrubs, dirt, and mulch. Andrea spent the time to isolate the problems and determine the best course of action. After explaining the options the decision was made to clear the lines from inside the house. Andrea pulled the toilet and was able to clear the blockage with a cable. auger. She also ran a camera thru the line all the way to the main sewer line in the street to insure the line was clear. Also while using the line camera she was able to located the approximate location of the clean out so it could be located and made accessible if needed in the future. The toilet was reinstalled with a new flange/ring, leveled, and caulked. All the work done was professional and all the plumbing issues were resolved. Andrea was professional, friendly, and knows her trade well. She answered many questions I asked of her. The work area was thoroughly cleaned and returned to order before she left. Thanks for a great experience
Plumber from Mr Rooter tried to clean out sewer line after removing the toilet (don't know why she didn't use main clean out line). She first tried with the cable, wasn't able to open the line, then ran a camera down the line. Said she couldn't see anything due to 'the murkiness in the water' (Duh). Charges were $481, ($431 with discount) even tho she had NOT opened the line. She did not say there was any problem with pipes (roots, collapsed). She recommended doing a hydroscrub. Another plumber came out opened the line using the clean out line and charged about half what Mr. Rooter charged. I contacted Mr. Rooter to complain and request a refund. They wouldn't return my calls, I continued to press for 3 weeks finally getting the owner Mr Goertz who said he wouldn't do anything. That's how committed they are to providing customers with exceptional service NOT!
This is a lie. I am done with this company. There are several different people complaining about your company that do not know each other. You still spelled my name incorrectly even after you reply to my review.. If you cannot spell my name correctly after I am sure you double checked with your workers. How could you send me two invoices? Then you state after getting the correct address? Really? I gave my correct name which was on my drivers lic. (still spelled wrong) so , why would I expect an email with invoices when you cannot copy a name from a drivers lic.. The lack to detail just adds to the issue . You never sent anything to me. I am just glad I did not waste $6600 when it only cost $650.00, I see you did not address that highway potential robbery. Have a great time over charging people.

Just read that the Owner responded and she has been provided the wrong information by her employees. Your team worked with the Mata family I was present each time a Mr. Rooter tech came out except when Walt came to see the initial damage. Your tech DID NOT immediately return any water heater. Galvin and his helper took the water heater into my attic in the Houston Summer heat and began to install it. It wasn't until my husband went to peek on how things were going that he said why is it all beat up. That is when your tech said he could take $50 off since it was damaged. Another tech an older gentlemen came to my home and informed my husband that there are several damaged/dinged up water heaters at the warehouse and if a tech can sell it for a $50 bucks off they get money in return. HMMMMM! How would I know all this if Galvin would of done his job right in the first place??? NO ONE was contacted immediately...how do I know OH because I was able to get about four quotes from different companies to fix the damage Mr. Rooter did before any one from MR. Rooter came out!! We called Walt and he even informed my husband that Mr. Rooter had not been in contact with him yet! We only had Walt's number from the older gentlemen. There was NEVER a final walk through. Not from Mr. Rooter or from Walt. A couple showed up to my home did the crappy repair and Mr. Rooter and Walt disappeared and have been avoiding us. My husband has called several times but no one returns our calls. I am glad you saw the pictures and while it may be satisfactory to you this is not your house. IT IS MY HOUSE AND THERE IS STILL DAMAGE!!! We also noticed that our light fixture is beginning to rust from where the water dripped down.
I hate to put Mr. Rooter on blast but you said so yourself YOU HAVE NOT RETURNED MY CALLS EVEN THOUGH I CALL EVERY DAY. Walt the Mr. Rooter professional contractor by the way works for you so he will agree with who ever signs his checks! Please feel free to call me or my husband tomorrow so we can stop having these public discussions that only make Mr. Rooter look bad. I will be updating my complaint with the BBB to inform they about the light fixture damage. And if we don't hear back from you by the BBB time frame I will be happy to take you to court because I have all my records and phone records to show Mr. Rooter has never contacted me other than to take my money!!!
I hired Mr. Rooter before and the service and cost were fair. I called them again when I had a leaky faucet. The guy quoted me $200+ to replace the faucet (or $50 for the visit). He was telling me how he was going to have to use a pocket knife and take off some of the caulk and replace it after, blah blah just rob me, okay? The whole repair took less than 5 minutes. Then, I guess the robber felt guilty and offered a free plumbing inspection (walked around flashing a flashlight at the pipes).

Unfortunately, this is the worst experience using a contractor in my life, I received a quote via email and verbal confirmation from the Mr. Rooter rep. Attached a quoted from email. As discussed on the phone earlier, we quoted you the preliminary price for a 40 gallon water heater, in the attic of $1,360.43.The arrangements were made with my family member, the next following day a Mr. Rooter service technician arrived to replace the water heater and I was surprised the total amount came up to $2,980.00. I immediately spoke with the service technician and was verbally abused about someone paying for the final bill. He refused to leave and several calls were made to the dispatcher center for Mr. Rooter whom told us they couldn't do anything. The service technician was uncooperative, very argumentative, and unprofessional, constantly questioning my character to my previous family for refusing to pay the unquoted amount. It turns out the service technician arrive with no knowledge ...

I had a water leak on the main line since Sat. Mon is a holiday so I could not get any of the smaller cos (Luis the plumber was a choice but he was closed) to come during the weekend. First Co I called (ARS) on Sat sent the wrong technician for the job - the dispatcher wrote down the wrong job, they had to come back Sunday. Sunday another one came and told me the line will be hard to find and there was no way they could do anytning that day, quoted $6000 to replace the line. Called Mr Rooter after he left Sunday, Joe came in on Monday (Holiday). He did not mind the rain and with a stick poke the ground until he found the main line to the house and the leakage. Very professional explained everything and said we owned this, we will get your water today The only reason I give 4 stars is because he did not have the part needed, but he was patient to wait for me to get it for him at Home Depot. Job was done and I have water again. When ARS comes tomorrow to sell me a complete repiping of my line, I will say no thanks. Mr Rooter fixed it already! Thanks Joe
I recently had the pleasure of having Mike with Mr. Rooter in The Woodlands do a 'whole house' plumbing checkup...he was on time, extremely courteous and very professional! He explained what he was doing and why...shared helpful information...and, most of all, left me with the feeling that he genuinely knows his trade and makes every effort possible to provide excellent service, personally and for Mr. Rooter! From the moment I spoke with Natalie, the owner, to schedule my appointment, I just knew my experience wouldn't be anything less than great!

I scheduled an appointment to have my yard drains cleaned out due to slow flow and some lying water in the yard after heavy rains. The group that came out was very professional and explained in detail where all of my drains went. They also showed me why the yard was holding water, the main drain was a pop up drain that was pieced together with duct tape and had overgrown with grass. They quoted me a price to fix the drain properly and have it flow to the street and storm drains. The work was completed the next day and they worked around my schedule for a follow up meeting. At the follow up meeting the lead of the group flowed water through my drains so I could see that they were working. We had to hook a few hoses together and when we were finished he wrapped the hoses up and put them away and also put my cold weather covers back on my spigots. The reasons I didn't give five stars is that they missed one of the drains. In fairness to them it was completely grown over with grass and would have been difficult to detect. They would have had to ask me for the locations of all the drains to know it was there. The second reason is the price. I found it rather expensive for the repair that they did complete. Overall, service was prompt, friendly and thorough and I will use them again.
I think the wrong Mr Rooter is going to get credit for this but Yelp doesnt have one for the one in SPring 77393, but I had invoice number 183891 so you guys know who to thank because you just got a new loyal customer.
a) house fillingup with water on a weekend - no one else answers the phone or there was an answering service where you wait forever for a call back. house still filling up with water. this company - call back right away - that was a big deal
b) showed me the price listed in a book - no ripping you off with a guesstimation, this was a set price, and he did a great job.
c) very professional, i really appreciated the care about not cutting more of the wall than he had to, cleaning after, not tracking mud on the carpets, etc. just a great employee.
my day still sucked, but this was a much better response than i have come to expect when calling someone out of the blue out of the yellow pages.
I called on a Sunday around 6pm and was told a technician would call me back and they didn't call until around 8am the next morning. I told them I would schedule when I was available because I work late and don't get home until 7pm so they offered to come out between 7 and 9pm. They never showed up but called at 9:20pm to reschedule. After 2 days with problems, why would I trust this company to ever come out?

Calling Mr. Rooter is like flushing money down the toilet. Worst waste of money ever. Better to do nothing than to call them because that is what they do for you - NOTHING! I called with a clogged bathtub. The guy came, very nice guy, put out the mat and wore slippers in my house. I told him I had tried everything, including snake and plunging and pressure hose. He said it would be $168 to unclog the tub. He tried with a snake, plunger and pressure hose and couldn't get it unclogged. Then insisted on charging me the $168, and said he would have an expert come out. The expert came and quoted me $5000 to replace the pipes. I called customer service and they were not interested in helping me.Totally scammed out of $168 and bathtub is still clogged. Then I called Brothers Plumbing in Splendora. The guy came, and changed all the pipes and charged me under $300. Tub draining fine now.DO NOT USE MR. ROOTER. A TOTAL RIP OFF!!!
