Plumbing issues are never fun, but with Metro Flow my wife and I had a great experience

We had a weird leak coming from the kitchen drain, but was draining in the garage. Weird. Had to call and have an emergency consult. RJ & Ted were able to take the call late and were on site at 6pm. They were able to locate the affected pipe with camera.

Because it was late we needed to reschedule the work to be done two days out. Which was today, Christmas Eve! They came sharply at 9AM and were done by noon. Not only that, they were able to patch and repair the wall that was cut with some scrap sheathing we happened to have. Amazing, because this is not part of their normal job. And on christmas eve. We probably would have had holes in the wall for a couple of weeks before we could get around to patching it.

Great communication and great problem solving. Above and beyond really.

I phoned Metro-Flow Plumbing office yesterday and they scheduled me for an appointment for today. My bathtub and toilet have over flowing problem.

Their Customer Rep on the phone was very helpful and pleasant to talked-to.

Their Plumber came this morning. He's young, respectful and professional. He explained the charges and answer all my questions about the water overflow in my laundry room.

He brought in his plumbing equipments checked the areas outside the house that have the pipes for clearing the clog.

It took some two hrs and finally it got cleared.

Although their pricey but the professionalism and work quality were part of it.

We were getting estimates for our insurance company for water leak under our foundation.  We explained that we needed the location of the leak detected when making the appointment.

VERY DISAPPOINTED that we had to pay $89 trip charge to find that they didn't send a plumber that could detect the leak.

Charged $433 to put a camera down sewer pipe under slab and told me there was a leak from tree roots. Made a $7000 estimate to dig kitchen floor and $1700 to retest when done and any other leaks would be extra. Called around and found Ex stream air service co. And they dug the hole to the pipe where Metro flow said it was leaking and there was no leak, they dug further and no leak. When they put their camera in the pipe and did a water leak test it all passed with no tree roots in the area and no pipe damage. They filled the hole and cemented over. $2800 for everything they did. Expensive lesson learned. Would never use this company again.

2 years ago I had them replace a frost free hydrant on the side of our home.
They charged $223 to remove the brick but they were not responsible for brick install.
The total bill after 2 hours of work was $577.00.
Ridiculous.
The plumber told my wife the work was guaranteed for 3 years.
Today, the hydrant failed once again, but I would NEVER call them again, since I'm sure they'd find a reason to charge us for the repair for some other reason.
Save yourself a lot of money and call another plumber.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!  TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!   I called Metro Flow Plumbing on a Tuesday to schedule a service appointment on Saturday at 9am due to a busted line to the water heater.  I spoke with Darryl and he assured me they would be the best plumber I had ever used and I could count on them. I called Friday and confirmed my appointment on Saturday and then called Saturday morning at 8:30 am to confirm again.  Due to the winter storm, I knew they would be busy.  The answering service assured me each time that I was still on the schedule and that a technician was coming out.  At 11am I called for a 4th time for and Darryl let me know , very abruptly, I had been taken off the schedule and would need to reschedule. He began yelling very aggressively and let me know there were other people who had used them for years who would come first . Darryl was threatening and condescending. We will NEVER use this company and I will advise all of our clients against using them as well.

I hate to report this kind of thing but I feel like I have to.

We had one of the Metroflow service contracts. Metroflow did some expensive work for us that leaked badly in a big thunderstorm about 8 months ago. That in and of itself wasn't a problem; it was that we had a video of the leak, which we sent to them and followed up with voicemail, with no reply. (It's still on my YouTube and I have all the emails and contacts) We were busy, it would be a lot of trouble to follow through, and we let it go.

After many months, we had our free yearly contract inspection this morning.

All is well until an under sink leak is found in the bathroom; lots of water underneath. I had been in that cabinet not ten minutes before and it was dry as a bone. Either something in the process of checking caused the leak (and all that water) or the leak was created; it does not really matter which. Can't trust them. Canceled.

This is the most overpriced plumber I've ever seen in my life.
$384 to snake the drain under my bathroom sink. took them 20 minutes.
If it's something fairly simple, find a handyman.  I will never use this company again, and I've already told a neighbor to avoid them

NEVER AGAIN!

Called them up, first wanted to come out 6 days later for a leak. I said it was not an emergency but come on I need it done sooner, then it's ok we can come out tomorrow. Great, why not give me that slot to start with???
Then they come out, $85 trip charge, ok.... but they call when they get there and say it will $299 to take toilet up and reset . Ummmm, what?? Then they say $700 if we have to replace the flange. I'm guessing they were going to replace the flange whether it needed it or not which I don't think it does. Told them to get out ! I can replace the wax ring with a perfect fit $20 and stop and leaks above the floor. CRAZY expensive ! CRAZY!

I simply was looking for a competitive quote on replacing my water heaters. They wanted to charge a dispatch fee of $85 to give me a quote. All other vendors I contacted have free in-home estimates. Their reasoning was there is cost to send out a truck and person... I explained there is a sales cost of doing business... he disagreed. I prefer to do business with someone who cares about doing business with me.

$650. to snake out our drain line that was 12' long! Do NOT do business with Metro-Flow Plumbing. They are 3X as expensive as other plumbers. Buyer beware! They would not give me any kind of estimate or pricing guidelines when I called them on the phone. They just said they charge $89. to send a plumber out to evaluate & he will give me pricing. Plumber came in my house, lied to me about using a $12,000. snake with a camera on it, had a color spiral that he flipped out and explained that they have pre-set pricing. $650. to do 45 minutes of work! I've paid other plumbers $175.-$225. for exact same service. Rip off. You do not have to overpay for your plumbing like this.

We called this company on a Sunday because we thought we had an emergency (which we really, thankfully, did not. They came out (for a $150 service charge) and told us that it would cost over $500 to ream out our pipes (in addition to the $150!). We were horrified!  Thankfully we did not do it. The next day our regular plumber came out and did the job for $160.  If you want to be scalped, give them a call. OUTRAGEOUS prices.

Too expensive and unnecessary work done.  Why can't a company be clean, and professional, while also being honest with fair, competitive pricing? Metro-Flow will clean up the mess, but that may be only after a sales pitch, making you sign an upfront contract, and charging more than triple for work that may have been unnecessary. I paid over $600 for what could have been accomplished with a $40 part at a hardware store or for about $100 or less with a smaller, local, honest, fair plumber.

Abusive prices. Extremely expensive. $608.00 for a clogged toilet. It took less than 25 minutes. Never again. I won't recommend this company

I spent $1500 getting a repair done by them last week.  To accomplish this they had to remove my toilet from upstairs.  They grabbed it by the tub and were dragging it around upstairs.  It started to leak from the connections a few hours after they left.  They came out today and said that because there was brown water by the connections that it had been leaking.  Once I asked them if it was just the water from the bottom of the tank, they said they were professional and had been doing it fro 27 years.  I guess by it, they must have meant ripping people off.  I don't recommend this company.

Don't use this company, classic bait and switch. They're not honest. I used them for a small job. They failed to tell me all pricing before cining out so that they could make money on the service fee or drive to my home. I told the sales rep what I needed and they crew that was sent out arrived 3 hours late, I missed time frim work and they wouldn't tell me the problem unless I paid an additional fee which I was never told about prior to booking that morning. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.  Classic bait and switch. I plan to use Drain Doctor now.

April 2015 was a bad luck month for us and plumbing. But in my opinion, I was fortunate to find Metro-Flow. I can't tell you if their prices are crazy expensive for everything they do, because I'm not a plumber. I really don't know what it cost to fix things. And yes, I'm sure I could have found supplies such as a toilet bowl cheaper at Lowes or Home Depot, and I could have carried the heavy thing to my home, but I don't have that kind of time. I'm sure I could have called several plumbers, but a visit from any plumber is going to cost.

In early April, roots shattered a pipe under my home. Metro-Flow brought a camera and put it down the pipe. I saw it with my own eyes.  The pipe was underneath my beautiful kitchen. I knew it was going to cost to get it fixed.  Daryl with Metro-Flow was quick to answer all my questions. Yes it was expensive, but they had to dig a cave under my house to get to the pipe. The pipe was fixed and no more toilet overflow in my upstair's bathroom.

Two weeks later my downstairs toilet started having issues. It had to be replaced too. It was leaking. Again Daryl and an assistant came out. He quoted a price and when it came out to be a bit more after it was fixed, I discussed it with him, and he kept his word to the original price. No problem. It was fixed and the toilet is working fine.

Again, maybe I could have made several calls all over Dallas to find a cheaper plumber.  But its about time and convenience for me. Metro-Flows plumbers got the job done, even threw in a few coupons. I asked them to work with me and they did.

They were professional, wore little footie coversover their shoes to keep my house carpet and floors clean.

Would I call them again? I have Metro-Flow on speed dial if there is such a thing on my cellphone, but I hope not to see them anytime soon. I'm done with plumbing problems.

Everything you read in former posts is true.  They charge $49.00 just to give an estimate and that price Does Not apply to the eventual price of the repairs.  This is a complete waste of time and money.

The estimate they gave me was well above what another company did good repairs for of my toilet.  The will not give you a firm price until the work is done, then it's too late. Do not use them unless you are desperate, even then, think about it.

The plumbers were very efficient, professional and informative. However, the costs were incredibly high. They charged $800 just to clear a drain in record time. Granted the service call was on a Sunday and I expected a slightly higher charge due to it being on a weekend, the $200 plus for the service call was way more than I expected. I found out later that if I had just waited until Monday, the service call would be 60% less. Call other companies before you contract with this one.

This company is an awful joke!! They are over priced completely, they are very rude and unprofessional!! They do not honor their work so I'm not sure why anyone would call this service!!! We paid over 14000 to them and that means nothing to them....poor customer service obviously....will never recommend!!! If I could give negative stars I would!!

This is a very, very deceitful company. I needed a new toilet in the kids bathroom, and wanted to put in a good one. I got prices from Lowe's and Home Depot, then decided to check with the professionals. I called the company and asked about pricing, and was told they cannot give any prices until the plumber comes out and looks at the situation. I said can you give me a range or price for a normal install?

No, of course not. So, dummy me, I agreed to pay $49 for a bid. I thought that if they were a bit more than the retail stores it might be worth it.

The plumber that came out was very nice, very professional, and cleanly dressed. Then I started feeling like I was at an Amway meeting. He pulled out presentation cards that explain how they do things. At this point he had been there almost an hour and I had yet to get a price. Then he explained they use something like flat rate prices. This meant the guy on the phone was lying, because they have a set price for everything. He also would not split out the price between the labor and materials.

Then he finally showed me the prices. To quote my teenagers OMG! The toilet I wanted would be $1,000 installed. I went out later and order the exact same one with installation at Home Depot for $438(before a 10% HD credit card discount).

When I gave the plumber the $49 check and told him to hit the road he was a bit snooty and commented on their great service. My first thought was if this is the type of ongoing service I can look forward to, forget it. My second thought was that you can provide some pretty good service if you charge more than double for your products and service.

I am usually not a sucker, but I was suckered by Metro-Flow Plumbing and their lack of honesty. I assume they much leach onto the elderly or people who are unable to go out and check and validate prices. I may yet file a complaint with the BBB.

My wife and I won't call anyone else.  Metro-flow is professional, timely, honest.  They stand behind their work and treat you like family.  On our last job, we had to have the city folks come also and even they were complimentary of the above and beyond work that was done.  I used to look for the lowest price, but usually found the work quality matched the price.  We value the quality and the integrity!

The company did a good job however I should have called other companies in the area. They charged triple, the cost from other companies. They replaced a rubber ring and charged over $300 for a job that in which they spent less than 30 minutes to complete. Regretfully I would recommend for people to look at other companies or a handy man first. Maybe Home Depot or Lowes would provide you with ideas on how to do it yourself.

don't even call these people. It is major scam with their Diamond club. I needed a stopper on a leaky faucet and they wanted over $450. they came in charge me $49 service call and gave me ridiculous pricing.. and try to oversell their other services. also set thru a demo on their Diamond Club

They also wanted over $200 to replace inner toilet valve.

These plumbers were super professional and did a great job, however they were more than triple the price of most other companies.  They charged $300 just to pull a toilet plus another $200 to install another one (no repairs included in that price).  Now, Home Depot will pull and install a new toilet for $79-$99 total.

Do not even bother calling this group. Their estimates are astronomical and they try to cover that up by offering a variety of convoluted discount programs. Also, they charge a $49 service fee just for giving you the high cost estimates. When I asked for the fee to be refunded, the owner was rude and argumentative with me and basically hung up on me. I think these guys are dishonest and try to take advantage of customers that don't know much about plumbing. Basically, I was told that it would cost $267 to install my kitchen faucet, $269 to hook up my gas stove, $267 for the sink basket, and $450-800 for a new garbage disposal. They also wanted to charge $200 to cut into my wall to check out a potential problem.

Expensive expensive expensive.
I've used metro flow 3 times now. The first two times was an emergency, they were the only ones available, and I was a first time homeowner so I didn't know any better about pricing. But they were very professional, clean, wore booties, and always came in pairs for some reason, and on time.
I just used them again, two knowledge-gained years later and holy moly!!! They are expensive. More than FOUR TIMES the price of another plumber . But here's the trick--they charge a SIXTY FIVE dollar service fee just to give you a quote, and that price does NOT go towards the cost of the work done. So to avoid paying $65 for nothing, I paid the 425$ total to snake one drain. If you don't know, that's totally absurd. It took them 15 minutes. For 425 dollars.  The drain was snaked well, I supposed, but that's not exactly complex plumbing. I feel a little robbed, and I wish they told me an estimate for snaking a drain over the phone before coming out. Sigh.

$485 to come out for 30 minutes to tell me that I either had a stoppage or a broken pipe.  Offered to give me $200 off of their overpriced bid.  I can't recommend these folks.
