Jay and his guys came out very quick you after I inquired about their electrical services. They got the job done and charged a reasonable price. We even got other patio lighting electrical work done by then too. Would love to recommend Jay Electric to anyone needing electrical services in the Houston area!

Jay electric installed lights in my house and an interlock outlet for my generator. They performed a good service for a good price.

Elio and team did a great job installing an outlet for me!  They even came back out towards the end of a weekday to swap out the outlet type based on my preference and did not charge extra.  Communication via text messages was great. They know how to take care of there customers!

On time, communication was great, job was professional and reasonably priced! It was a full service panel replacement/upgrade work. They got out and fixed it within 1 day!

I had a power outage due to my breaker box last Sunday morning.
So I tried calling their service number and left several messages. No one returned my calls!! I was outraged. Poor service and outright rude to not return my calls and cry for help!

The team from Jay Electric did a great job on our project. They were prompt, well organized, and got everything done within the time and budget promised.

We were in a bind during a remodel, when we went to install the Double Wall oven we discovered the wiring in our 1976 home had a 30amp circuit to the old oven, but the new oven required a 40 amp circuit.

Jay Electric was the first to respond to my Yelp request. They showed up the very next day, an hour early, they ended up having enough of the required wire on the truck. They had to run an new circuit from the panel which was behind the detached garage to the kitchen! They were magicians at fishing the wire all the way to the location of the oven, with zero required repair work!! When they were done you couldn't even tell they had been there, they even hooked up the oven and helped me lift it into the new cabinet without even a scratch.

They are a class outfit, very respectful and ensured all the work was done per NEC Code!!

Responded promptly, completed the job very quickly,  priced competitively. Would be a 5 star review if they had cleaned up afterward. Overall a professional job at a decent price.

Hired for a very quick last minute project. Eilio and his team showed up timely, professional and did a great job! Prices are competitive and service was great.

Thoroughly disappointed with the work they did.  They took forever to get back to me about the quote and then botched the job completely.  They cut a huge whole in the wall, then realized they had to install the outlet a few feet over.  They left a gaping hole and seemed totally surprised when I asked if they would fix it.

I asked them to fix my doorbell, and they fixed it, but I don't think it was worth to try spend $175. It was a very quick fix - a wire wasn't connected. However, without checking - I thought checking wiring had to be included free estimation, but they checked nothing and claimed  they were confident that transformer was the issue, then initially they quoted $400 then lower to $200 - it included transformer replacement. I trusted them since they are professionals. But after a minute they found that the disconnection then fixed then trie to charge $200. I said it was not okay then ask to lower the cost then they downed to $175. Not sure the situation is normal but I will look for other places.

Called for service and Jay was knocking on my door 45 minutes later.   Jay and his UhOh Ed arrived wearing face masks.  After explaining my problem, he quoted me a price.  Once we agreed, they set about resolving the problem and within 20 minutes everything was back on line.  

So, he came. He fixed.  And he made it ez to pay with Zelle.   I've got his magnet on the fridge for future needs.  So, here's a big thumbs up for Jay Electric.

Called them yesterday asking that they come out to remedy an issue with a ceiling fan they installed approximately a year ago.  Ceiling fan now rocks and lights flicker.  Spoke with the owners wife Navy whom I've spoken with on numerous occasions over the past 10 years, because they did all of my electrical work prior to the decline in customer service, and issues with my elderly mother. Navy initially stated she didn't know who I was, although teach time I've called in the past, I didn't have to identify myself. She then overcame her acute phase of amnesia and put me on hold. She then came back on line and schedule an appointment for Monday July 25,2022 from 9am-10am. Fast forward to 10:10am.. no call/no show, so I called them again and was told the appointment was from 10-11am ( which wasn't accurate), however, I digressed and said OK.. I'll be here waiting. Fast forward and at 11:15am, no one showed upI placed a call back to Navy and surprise. Surprise (insert sarcasm)... she didn't answer or respond to my vm's or text messages. I've used this company and have given them numerous referrals over the years with positive reviews and now they have turned a cold shoulder with poor customer service and lack of concern because they conned my elderly mother out of over $2,000! And I'm certain they won't respond to this review because they're guilty of all charges! My question to them is was it really worth it??? You will reap what you sow!!! And my suggestion to anyone reading this review is to use them at your own risk!

I needed an outlet and a circuit breaker replaced. Elio did a great job. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. Would use again.

Ended up not needing their services but quoted a fair price and communicated quickly.

Beware of pricing. Was quoted one price but when job took a little longer, they requested 5 times the original price.

Outdoor electrical outlet needed replacing. Elio showed up at the front end of the given time window, fixed the outlet in literally two minutes, and charged me way, way less than every other quote I had gotten on the job. He and his apprentice (son?) were super friendly.

I have a new go-to electrician.

Work was done the same day I reached out, fast and both electricians were very professional. Little pricey, but same day service and everything works... worth it!

Good, professional work, good price.  Other Yelp vendors on the same ad clearly tried to price gouge me.

TERRIBLE SERVICE AND UNRELIABLE.

1) Electrical work that is not up to code or standard
2) A one year warranty that was not honored by the company that gave it
3) terrible responses and customer service

They came out in October 2020 to replace an arc fault breaker that was tripping. They evacuated the breaker and the plug, deemed it to be the breaker. They replaced it with a standard breaker, that I learned later was not up to CODE. They gave me a one-year warranty, so I called them when I was told that my breaker was not replaced correctly and they eventually came out to replace it with the correct arc fault breaker. However, this breaker was also bad and tripped (6 flashing lights, signifying faulty breaker). I called and they asked me to have my garbage disposal inspected, and it was in working condition and not the cause of the tripping breaker. I asked him to honor the warranty, but despite multiple calls and promises that the manager would return my call, I never received a call. I eventually reached out on yelp, and receive the same message that they would not be honoring my warranty. He eventually stopped responding to my messages.

Recently employed Jay Electric to replace three breakers in my panel that were constantly tripping.  Had already contacted my Home Warranty company who had sent out a technician to diagnose the problem, so the work required was quite clear.

I was charged $380 for this work, which took less than 20 minutes to complete (I have footage from my doorbell camera).  Assuming $40 a breaker for parts, I was charged a whopping $780 an hour for work ($390 an hour if you take into account that two electricians were sent over but it's not clear why that was needed in the first place).  

When questioning the cost, we were told there was a $175 'troubleshooting fee' included which is comical considering we pointed out the exact three breakers that had issues and none of the other ones in the box were touched.  Furthermore, it was explained that either the wiring was loose or the breakers needed replacement, and after pointing out (and fixing) some loose wiring, the breakers were replaced anyways.

The problem does appear to be fixed by the pricing is outrageous.  I'm very disappointed by what appears to be a clear case of taking advantage of a situation.

EDIT: $175 for 5 minutes of 'troubleshooting' is absolutely outrageous.  If you had a minimum of a $175 charge to take a look you should have been transparent and stated it as a call-out fee so we could have politely turned you away.  Had I been home there is absolutely no way this charge would have been paid, but you took advantage of my girlfriend being home alone.  Your response makes me feel a one star rating is even more warranted.

Arranged for a quote through Yelp to have to exterior sensor lights replaced. Job also included updating wiring. Had someone out the same day.  His quote was reasonable and was able to do the job that day.  Work was completed and despite a mishap everything made right. That type of professionalism impressed me.

They came out within the hour and fixed my problems immediately!  Very professional and got the job done.

Needed a outlet looked at so our oven will work. I asked for 3 quotes on YELP and only Jay responded. He offered a free estimate, came within an hour and had me fixed at a reasonable fee. Very reasonable.

They took off their shoes, wore masks and were very efficient, cordial, knowledgeable and left the area clean!

Just had Jay Electric come to the house.
Elio and his helper fixed an electrical problem that another well known company said could not be fixed and it would cost several thousand dollars to get the lights on.
Elio had the same diagnosis BUT he went the extra mile and figured out a plan to fix the problem and not just redo everything!!

Elio was prompt in his respond.  He arrived in the time promised.  Diagnosed the problem easily and fixed it to my satisfaction.  He is a master electrician and very professional.

Jay Electric is rated #1 on Yelp for good reason. They are professional, punctual, personable and very skilled.

My daughter had multiple piggy-backed extension cords in her room to accommodate all her electronics. It was sketchy at best, if not downright dangerous.  Jay Electric arrived on Saturday morning to assess the problem and recommend a solution. They quoted a reasonable all-in rate and, upon receipt of my approval, immediately launched into the work of running new wires into my daughter's room and installing a 4-socket outlet on two walls on a separate breaker. In addition, they provided an outlet in the garage, where there previously had not been any electric service for holiday lights and a myriad other needs.

They dynamic duo was onsite a little over three hours and not only completed the requested tasks before thoroughly cleaning up what little mess they made, they also went above and beyond by removing a blanket behind a cabinet drawer so it could fully close again.  Truly going the extra mile.

I always have been rather nervous when searching for a reliable, ethical and skilled electrician.  It's a bit like throwing darts  ... blindfolded. I no longer have that issue.  I've saved Jay Electric's contact information in several places (including my Outlook Contacts) so when the need for electrical support surfaces again, I (or another member of my household) will know precisely who to call.  What's more, Jay Electric is contemporary in their business practices. They took payment via Zelle instead of a hardcopy check, which was an added convenience for both parties.

If it makes you feel better and well-informed, seek additional quotes on Yelp or elsewhere. However, after reading other reviews, I didn't expend the time and energy on comparative quotes ... and I could not be more pleased with the result provided by Jay Electric.

Very speedy and professional service. Fixed problem with non working outlet in about 20 minutes and cane day after evening request. My only issue is that they charged $220 for the short visit. I'm all for folks making a living but even if travel added in this is a crazy rate if you consider it on an hourly basis. Just be aware that they are pricey.

I asked for a quote through Yelp and received an immediate response from Elio.  We set up a time for him to come to my home and view the issues I specified in my initial inquiry.  He came the next day.  He called beforehand to confirm the appointment and let me know he was on the way.  He and another young man showed up and were very professional.  They kept their masks on and answered all my questions.  He gave me a quote that was half of a previous quote I'd received! They were able to complete the work that very same day.  The service was quick and efficient.   I would definitely recommend them and use their services again.  Very professional, personable, and reasonably price.

Was the only electrician company that answered my call promptly, was friendly, dispatched a crew almost immediately, and arrived before their appointment window.  Got the problem diagnosed and fixed in less than 20 minutes.  A little more pricey than a journeyman who only has himself to pay, but for a company that can respond quickly to a request and have it easily fixed, I would definitely recommend and use them again.

Elio and his crew are amazing! He is definitely our go to electrician. Hands down. They are professional, pricing is very reasonable, reliable and pleasant to work with. We just moved into our house about two months ago. He's been over 3x now with new projects around the house and we couldn't be happier. We replaced a foyer chandelier, installed recess lights, new light fixtures, replaced ceiling fans, fixed our blown fuses and etc. He seriously is the best! I highly recommend him.

So impressed with this company! Been in business for a long time and worked with a lot of vendors and contractors. These guys showed up on time, worked fast, pricing was not bad, knowledgeable, and very polite. After the repair, I needed a battery for my fans remote and a new switch for my ceiling fan, they even gave me new ones they had free of charge, which was not their problem! One thing they did which impressed me was cleaning their work area diligently with a vacuum after the repair, which ALOT of contractors don't do, and drives me nuts. Highly recommend and will definitely use them again in the future!

They came out and fixed an electrical issue that I could not figure out myself. They are experts in what they do. Finished the job in 30 minutes and didn't overcharge. I have recommended them to family and friends plenty of times. Hablan espanol!

We had a power surge that burned up lots of different items and he came out within two hours of the call.  He made recommendations and repairs and put a new surge protector on our house. I would use him again.

Horrible experience. I paid over $2100 for 5 garage outlets, grounding two outlets,, ran wire for 4 smoke detectors, and a new transformer for low voltage. They installed a double 20 amp breaker, ran 12 gauge from it to a junction box and then 14 gauge wire ( which can not support 20 amperage to all the outlets, and smoke detector boxes.) The two outlets they were supposed to ground were grounded to neutral. The junction box was a mash of parts for an outlet. They double tapped a neutral wire instead of adding a screw. Nothing of what they did is safe in any way. They sent kids out to do the install. They created 4 holes in my garage wall that they had to seal up and look like shit and also came through my ceiling into the living room leaving another horrible patch job on my wall. I now have to hire another electrician to fix everything they did before things start to burn. Don't trust any work these guys do. They send kids out to do work, unsupervised and not even close to code or safe. Grounding to a neutral is basic trickery and extremely dangerous.

Very poor communication. Tried to get an estimate, no luck. Missed scheduled date, in fairness rain from Emelda, but did not contact about issue meeting the date nor has there been any communication since? I understand weather delay but to not even say anything until I contact? and then no communication after? Bad customer first approach.

Elio did a great job hanging ceiling fans at my house.  Efficient, neat and super nice.  He even had to do a little repair in order to hang one of the fans.  Great job, would highly recommend.  Price was very fair too.

These guys were awesome. Had a very tough job logistically and they were able to find a workable solution.  The work was done quickly and correctly & exactly like I had hoped. I have another project that we spoke about and will definitely contract them to complete it when ready. Most importantly pricing was where it should be and not inflated.

Very professional. Very polite. Great price. I found this company based on reviews -- those reviews stand true. I was very pleased with my service. Frank and his colleague took off their shoes before coming in the house, cleaned up after themselves, and was very respectful. I had some custom work done in the kitchen (wall plates and switches) and they installed two chandeliers. I already recommended them to family members and will continue to use these guys in the future. Great work.

Great customer service from Jay and got the job done very quickly.  Our a/c was tripping one of the breakers and it was fixed for about $125 on a Saturday no less!

Was able to show up last minute when another electrician failed to show up at all. Fixed all of our issues quickly before any other electrician could even quote us.

The electrician arrived on time and installed our Ring camera, repositioned our Ring doorbell and added an outlet so everything would not be on one circuit. I will definitely call them again. They are informative and know what they are doing.

Job was professional, but the quote was expensive $95 dollars just to put the lines within the walls. it would be ok if it was 60-70 bucks.

I have an electrician I have been working with for years. I needed another project done so I went to Yelp to find a couple of companies who could perform the work. After getting the bids and meeting the companies I decided to go with Jay Electric. They were not the cheapest nor were they the most expensive. They were honest about the job and even told me things that did not need to be done since they appeared to be changed recently therefore would be fine. I accepted the quote and we scheduled a time for them to do the work. The communication was great and I was informed of everything happening.They arrived on time to perform the work and were polite and professional. They handled all the items on the quote and then I paid with a CC. Please note they accept credit cards just NOT American Express. I love Amex but I had to pay another way. Overall I am extremely happy and I think I have found a new company to use. Thank you very much for the great work and professionalism Jay Electric!

Elio was the fastest to respond of any electrician, and even squeezed me in the same day since he was in the area. Arrived on time, took his shoes off before coming inside, and resolved my problem within a half hour for a fair price. He will be my electrician going forward.

Love it when a company does excellent, fast work, professionally and reasonably!  Jay's has become our new go-to electrician! I had a quote for 200-400 to diagnose our problem. That didn't include fixing it! Jay's got back with me promptly, scheduled the appointment on President's Day when others took the day off, which I understand, but an inoperable washer, due to a non-working plug is a big inconvenience! Jay's fixed the problem, replacing a breaker with a more sturdy breaker, in less than 1/2 hour, and also corrected a blinking light I pointed out to him!  The charge was $150 which is very fair for 2 men to diagnose and repair.  We were impressed with Jay's and very glad to find this family-owned business!  We see why they have so many high reviews!

Elio added 2 new outlets, a new switch, and fixed an old switch for me. He was prompt, professional, courteous, careful, and did a very good job. I plan to use him again in the future.

Elio came out and fixed a few GFCI outlets for us at a reasonable price and gave quotes for some other work.  I will be calling him back for additional work.

Great service. We had a small electrical fire at our house due to bad wiring on Tues night. We also lost cell service at our house the same night due to severe storms. I was able to text Elio via wifi and he responded right away that he would be there the next morning. He was out at my house the next morning and had my wiring and new breaker installed within 30 min. Good price for the work to. Since he was there I asked him to fix a busted floor plug. He didn't have the parts but went to get them right then, came right back to the house and fixed it better than new. Also brought back a entire home surge protector and installed it. Fast, courteous, fair priced. Highly recommend him. Going to have him come back and install some decorative lights the wife wants hung up. Great Service.

I will never hire Jay Electric again.  This is a greedy, dishonest electrician. They charged me $17,500 for less than half day of work.  He supposed to reinstall 200 feet of conduit and replace 200 feet of electric wires.  He did not dig a trench for the new conduit, even through they mentioned that existing conduit may be damaged by the roots from mature trees.  Instead, they pulled the new wires through existing conduit.  I asked him to adjust the price - he refused!!!  Copper wires for this distance cost about $6,000!  So, he charged me $11,500 for couple hours of work!!!  Be very careful if you decide to hire this greedy, dishonest person - you will be ripped off!

NO CALL NO SHOW. Made an appt via Yelp and it was an hour window. Didn't receive any sort of communication of being late or if they were on the way which I would have accepted but this is not professional.

quick, fast service but pricy. replace 2 30amp circus breakers. no wiring. total job less than 20 min. was charged for 370. after i realized my front door light was out after the service. it worked fine in the am. call the guy come back. he said the breaker for those front lights broke. he charged another 100 to fix it. i felt like it wasnt my fault. why charged us extra money. so basically we were charged 470 for just to replace 3 circus breakers within 20 mins less of labor. no extra wiring and nothing else‍ i like the fast service but price is way too much. im not sure if i would recommend this business to anyone. honest business was not happened to us

After setting up a simple appointment to install a ceiling fan and agreeing to a price, the scheduled time of arrival was to be at 10AM the next morning. The electricians did not show up until after 12 noon. My calls to get an ETA were ignored and I was left with no idea if the guys were coming at all to install the fan. This company has waisted more than 2 hours of my time without a single phone call to at least let me know what was happening. Not likely to hire them ever again.

I called this company for a estimate. Elio and his crew arrived on time and looking professional. After going over what I wanted outside on my patio. Elio gave me an affordable price which was a big plus for me. The work was done fast and professionally. They also clean up the work area. I would definitely recommend and use this company again for future projects. Thank you!

I had some light and fan fixtures that wouldn't turn on, and needed smoke detectors changed. Also wanted to raise a couple of chandeliers that were too low.

Elio was very professional. He responded quickly to my Yelp request, came out promptly, gave a free estimate, and finished the work and even cleaned up the area leaving it spic and span. The pricing was reasonable too. I recommend this business.

They are very fast, excellent work, affordable prices and neat! This so my second time using them and will do so in the dirties for all my electrical needs, such as updating out light fixtures, ceiling fan installation, installing new thermostat whatever.. Great work!

I sent out an estimate request through Yelp on July 4th, and they responded to me within 5 mins. They were able to come out at 7am the following day and finished the task within less than one hour. They even cleaned up the mess and covered up the holes from the old outlets locations. Excellent service and price is reasonable as well. Highly recommended!!

Contacted this business at ~9PM and received a response in 10 minutes. The guy showed up on time the next day and got the work done with a reasonable price. I am very happy with their service and prompt response!

They came out to replace an over the range microwave and while here, they also replaced a ceiling fan.  Fast work on both.  I would definitely hire again.
