Excellent and responsive service.  Great technician.  Replaced a hot water heater element when he could have replaced the entire heater.

I don't know much about plumbing, so when we had a leak in an outdoor water line, I call in someone else to fix the problem.

My main issue with Ermie's is that they didn't provide a written estimate.  The plumber just told my girlfriend It's not going to be anything crazy like $500.  It's her fault for not getting the estimate in writing.

He was there for a couple of hours total, but part of that time was driving to another site to pick up parts.  He actually worked for about 30 minutes, while the rest of the time he was waiting on glue to dry.  She watched him just sitting in his van checking his Facebook posts on his phone.  (He kept showing her photos he had posted on Facebook.)

The work seemed to be done well, but for the limited amount of actual work time, it seemed that $430 was excessive.  Wish I had been home to demand that estimate and an accounting for how the charging was determined.

We had two outside faucets that had been leaking for the last few years.
Ernie's service, based on HomeAdvisor/Angi reviews, seemed to be a promising option.  They were rather coy about the cost but at least, in contrast with one of their competitors, they would give us an estimate without charging us for the trip to give us the estimate.  After examining the two faucets, the quoted cost for replacing the two leaking faucets was $450 less a $25 discount for being a first-time customer.

Before they began, I alerted the two technicians to the fact that upon starting to replace one of the faucets a year ago I had stopped when I could see the pipe to which the leaking faucet was attached was slightly turning.

After about an hour, it was announced the two leaking faucets had been replaced.  That was before testing revealed the copper pipe attached to the manifold inside the wall was leaking.  Yes, this was the very faucet I had warned them about.  The gotcha was to resolve the leaking problem would require an additional $190.

Wanting to get the job completed, I agreed to the additional charge.  After another hour, which included knocking out some bricks to access the damaged copper pipe, the senior technician pronounced the problem resolved.

Interestingly he showed me the damaged copper pipe section that was completely crumpled as the result of severe overturning.  Despite the fact that the pipe was discharging water before he and his colleague started working, his allegation was I had been responsible for crimping the pipe.

The total charge was $640.  So much for the $25 discount.

My mistake was putting too much weight on the HomeAdvisor reviews and failing to sufficiently examine the alternatives available.  Needless to say, Ernie's would not be at the top of my list.

They did a great job at a very fair price. Showed up on time & were very informative & didn't push any services. I will use them again & feel like I've found great plumbers.

We have been using Ernie*s plumbing for about a year, Craig who has always come out is great, plumbers can say anything because we really don't know, but the first time he came out it was something so minimal that it didn't cost anything, that's when I know we had a good plumbing service unfortunately we had something else go wrong but the price was reasonable. Well the storm hit we had no hot water for 5 days everyone was so busy we finally had someone coming in 10 days, thank goodness we got ahold of Ernies. And they err coming in 3 days, I was even happier when they had a cancellation and came out 3 days early it was fixed within an hour and the price was low, I know this has been long but please use this plumbing service and if you can get Craig it's even better I would give more stars if I could!!!!!

we woke up on a winter saturday morning to discover a few of our master bathroom tiles were very warm.  after researching plumbing companies and asking people we knew whom have had major plumbing issues, we settled in on Ernie's.  we called and made an appointment for a technician to arrive the next business day.  Bryan showed up, explained what was going on and gave us a quote.  our confidence in Ernie's and Bryan became such that we had Bryan stay an extra day and take care of loads of other plumbing  items we'd been neglecting for years.
Ernie's will be our only call to a plumber in the future.

They left holes in my house, destroyed my air duct system, cut a beam that was holding up a wall, But they did the job, which is all they are concerned about, and it only cost me $3000. After we complained Ernies stated they had insurance to cover this, but insurance denied because their insurance didn't cover faulty installation of gas lines and the damage caused by such... And Ernies said they were no longer responsible... But they made the holes...  I wrote a review 2days ago, I never stated they didn't do the job - I stated the condition my house was left in and what total night mare it has been in since I have been sick with cancer... Read my review then read Ernies Plumbing's response... No customer service there... they don't care...
*I HAVE POSTED PICTURES SO YOU CAN SEE THE CONDITION MY HOUSE WAS LEFT IN- THE TORN OUT WALLS, MY CEILINGS , MY EXTERIOR BRICK, AND HOW THE TRAMPLED DUCT SYSTEM - **
**********************************************
$3000 and holes in my house -What a Nightmare- one that I am still living with 2 yrs later Women beware I feel I was taken advantage because I was alone and I didn't understand- plus I was going through chemo - last thing I thought is that I was being wronged. It was November and the pilot light went out on our water heater (gas). The company we normally used was too busy and couldn't schedule us til next day- so my sister in law said that her and my mother in law used Ernie's- I called - guy came I told him problem. He looked at it said the problem was I had a gas leak, I said no - AAA just does something done there restarts it / $75 - it works. He said nope not it. Then he gives me quote, tells me it wouldn't exceed this amount- and he could fix that night- because he called Atmos and had my gas turned off in November and it was cold. He said he needed to go home first for dinner and then come back because he had long day(no joke) he came back and immediately started drilling through my brick and making wholes in my walls??? He said not to worry he was looking for leak and it could all be repaired- no one ever explained why he needed to drilll a complete whole through my house ( I can see outside) after 2hrs and trampiling through my attic- he said he couldn't figure out/ he would be back 1st thing in AM- He never showed- I had to call Ernie's- they call plumber and they say he is stuck on another job/ I HAVE NO HEAT! They said they would send replacement- around lunchtime they- seemed a lot smarter- he couldn't figure why or what? And that quote was wrong- He would have to start all over today because he wasn't sure- and that I was being charged by hour- after few hours of being in my attic he said he would be back next day- keep in mind - going on 3 days no heat!! The next day that guy didn't show up either- I had to call Ernie's again. This guy / who seemed like a real plumber and I actually liked- came in and said I will be honest I am not sure why 1st plumber did any of this, you have a gas leak , every house actually does - alitle bit, but you have a little bit more. He said I didn't need the hole in brick- this should have been billed as flat fee and then he told me that previous plumbers trampled all over the duct system and he wanted to make sure I knew it wasn't him- his exact words- This plumber did finish the job that night, I called city inspector over next day but it didn't pass, so the plumber had to check one more pipe - my gas stove. He was frustrated and tired and city inspector was nice enough to wait because I had gone 4 days with no heat- to get to stove pipe he cut hole in wall behind it- but he cut a beam. My house is 60 yrs old - beams are very important. City inspector passed the work and my gas turned on. I PAID ERNIES $3000 -  I had to get a loan for this- I lost time from work- didn't get paid. Here comes the best part -

1:The holes they made, they said my responsibility, even though most unnecessary
2: Pilot light went out on water heater few months later needed a new part $800
3: Duct System so messed up- Heat only comes into 2 bedrooms in back of house. And now heater won't stay on
4: The Beam they cut was supporting a wall which is now falling.

My ex husband called Ernie's- showed them pictures- we just wanted it fixed- they understood and sent someone to look at and then told him that Ernie's was responsible for none of it- end of discussion. I am still paying this loan.
I have had 6 surgeries this year because of cancer and this plumbing thing pisses me off more than the cancer- I feel they took advantage of a single woman who didn't know anything and trusted them- I mean when you're fighting cancer you shouldn't have to worry your plumber is not treating you fair!!!  Our whole family now uses AAA AUGER.

*** YES IT WAS ERNIES PLUMBING THAT DID WORK FOR ME ***
I KEEP THE $3000 INVOICE TAPED TO MY WALL TO REMIND ME NEVER TO MAKE THIS MISTAKE TWICE

We have used Ernie's plumbing multiple times here at our storage facility and have been very happy every time. They always show up on time do the work as promised and the problem always goes away. They are not the cheapest plumber in town I'm sure but they are one of the best. Highly recommended.

I wouldn't have given any stars if that was an option. We called Ernie's Plumbing because I seen they had good reviews on Yelp and on Angie's List AND advertised FREE ESTIMATES.  TOTAL MISTAKE!  When the guy got here, my husband explained to him that he would need to get under the house to check for leaks.  He said he was going to have to charge $195 for that.  I asked him what does the free estimate mean then that they advertise?  I called the office and asked them if free estimate means free estimate no matter what and she said that they will charge a fee if they have to go under the house and it's not a set fee, that the plumber sets his own price since he's the plumber.  Ok, fine, we agreed because we have major plumbing problems and the last plumbing company that came out through a service call with American Home Shield who ended up denying authorization for services never called us back to give us an estimate of what it would cost. So Neal from Ernie's Plumbing finished his inspection and then said he would have to give us the estimate the following day when the ofc was open.  He ended up chargin us $150, sent us the estimate via TEXT the next morning for $7,200 + parts + tax, so that estimate was only for labor.  We asked him to give us an estimate for EVERYTHING and he said he would get back to us.  We didn't hear back from him so the following day, we called the office and they put my husband on hold to call the plumber and got back on the line saying that he couldn't give us an exact estimate because he wasn't sure what all he was going to need for the job and that they would get back to us later that day.  That was 2 DAYS AGO and we haven't heard back.  I guess they didn't want to make money.  Their loss!  Stay away from Ernie's Plumbing, they seem to be real shady and LAZY!!!!!

They called me an hour late after my appointment window to let me know the guy was running late.  That's fine, I took off the day for them, I can wait longer...  When they called again to say he was on the way, I was on the other line and missed the call.  I called back right away and they informed me my appointment was cancelled and the next window was days later.  My water heater is leaking, and I have no hot water for showers or washing anything, but that's fine, I will call the punctual plumber instead.

I always feel a little uneasy when a company does not provide you their hourly rate over the phone. Anyway, Ernie sends out one of his plumbers, he looks at my broken one inch water line and says he would need to do a total re-do of the section between the meter box and the section beneath the sidewalk and writes me up a proposal of $330.00 which included a discount. I gasped and told the tech that this job should take no more than an hour for a plumber and there are plumbers who charge a fee of $100/hr plus parts. I sent him on his way and called Tom's Plumbing.

Tom's tried fixing it one way and it did not work, but they went ahead and rebuilt the entire section and only charged me $170....no gimmicks.

I don't have anything against Ernie's Plumbing, but if you want great service at a great price, go elsewhere.

Plumber came out and wouldn't take care of my problem because the company isn't insured to service condo's or townhouse's. Very concerning and disappointing. This information should be specified on Angie's List and the companies website. Needless to say, don't recommend this company.

Had a toilet that was stopped up and no amount of plunging would totally free it.  Technician Chas came out and did the snake deal and open and free flowing.  Well about a week later the same problem.  Chas did a follow up and could not free it as well.  He offered no charge to go back to shop and get a video camera to try to see the cause.  Well, to no surprise to me, it was loaded with roots.  Chas gave some options, but the only one guaranteed to work was to replace the portion of sewer line that was allowing roots to enter.  Not a fun option.  $2350.  Ouch.  Told him I was going to see what my homeowners would do.  Chas did not give me much hope as he has been through this rodeo many times.  Long story short Chas and I worked on the wording of the problem.  Well, Nationwide approved the work, and even mentioned that the quote was extremely reasonable for the work entailed to go through the floor.  They just did not pay for the actual replacement of the sewer pipe.  No big deal, the cost was minimal compared getting to the problem and putting it all back.  It was not an easy job. I guess the slab was at least a foot thick.  Well the first day he was only able to get through the slab.  The next day he fixed the pipe and recemented the floor.  About 3 days later when floor had cured he set the toilet.  That was a special job, since the original builder did not have it connected directly to the floor and it was tilted.  Chas said don't worry he would correct that problem.  I think that took a couple of extra hours.  Okay all done everything put back and now for the real reason for this long review.
When he first started the job I asked if he would check another toilet that rocked a little when sitting on it.  Therefore when finished he looked at the other toilet and realized the problem.  Same as the other toilet, not directly attahed to slab.  Well this isn't insurance stuff so we knew we would have to bite the bullet.  I did mention to Chas we had another technician from Ernie's, over a year ago, pull the toilet to see where the leak was coming from.  Chas said he would look into that.  About 30-40 minutes later he told us, their people should not have reset the toilet the way it was, and Ernie's was going to fix it at NO CHARGE to us.  Whoa, what just happened.  They could have easily not said boo and we would have paid.  That is why I had to send this review.  Also a big thank you to Chas and a big thanks to the adjuster for Nationwide.
Interesting note.  After asking Chas, he told us he has been working for Ernie's over four years. We like Chas so much we wanted him to let us know if he went to work elsewhere or on his own to let us know how to reach him.  He said that was not going to happen.  He likes very much working for this company.  A good sign if their people like their employer.  Definately a 5 star rating.

My previous experiences with Ernie's were excellent, so I called them when I saw water pooling in front of my house.  The technician told me that I had a slab leak, and that it would be necessary to punch numerous holes inside my house in order to pressure test each line, then bypass it.  The estimate came to over $3000, plus the cost of patching the resulting holes.  Two things struck me as very suspicious:  He said he may have to punch holes on the second floor (for a leak outside??), and that I should schedule the repair as soon as possible.  I scheduled, then cancelled in order to get a second opinion.
I called a plumber who was recommended to me.  He told me that the leak could be found with a single pressure test that would not require any HOLES.  He quickly found the leak (outside) and charged me approximately $300 to repair it.  The Ernie's plumber would have overcharged me thousands, and left gaping holes in my home.

Very bad experience.  My best guess is that they're just too big to care about small jobs any more or we were located farther out than they thought?  (One thing you learn after you move to the country is how difficult it is to get service on anything.)

A friend recommended that I call Ernie's, and ask for a specific plumber, let's say Fred, to do the work.  So that's what I did on Monday morning.  I reported that we seem to have a main drain blockage between the building and the septic, probably due to roots since we live amongst trees.  They initially said they don't work on septic tanks - not what I was asking for - but they could work on the drain.

Since it was not an emergency situation, I scheduled Fred to come out two days later, mostly to ensure that there would be enough time allocated for the job and also so that I could arrange to take a day off work to be there.  So the appointment window was set up for 8-12 on Wednesday morning.

At about 10:15 on Wednesday they called (they said they would call before they came out) to tell me that Fred doesn't work on drains and doesn't clear blockages and would not be coming out!!!  What!!?!  They said they were very busy and could reschedule a different technician for the next day.  What!!?!  I took a day off work to be there that day.  They said they were very busy but might be able to squeeze me in that same afternoon.

Clearing a main drain of roots is not a quick or easy task, and I don't think a main drain line clearance is something that can be squeezed in to a full very busy schedule and be done right or well.  I scheduled several days early in order to be given enough time for the job to be done right.

So, no, I don't think so.  If a business can't run themselves any better than that to cancel at the last minute, why would I have confidence in them?  It wasn't until afterwards that I visited their web site - they look like a clearinghouse for unnamed random local area plumbers rather than plumbers themselves.

You guys, I had a slab leak. Noooooooo, I know. Do you ever hear the sound of running water in your walls but you know there's no water running anywhere? It's scary... I originally had a plumber come out through my home warranty service to see what was up, and they discovered the slab leak and quoted me $10k to fix it. I cried. I decided to get a second opinion and my mom recommended Ernie's Plumbing because they fixed two slab leaks in her house a few years ago, and it didn't cost her ten thousand dollars. So YAY.

Gary (who was so kind and understanding, but also very direct and to the point) was able to come out within a day to asses the situation. He quoted me $2800 and was willing to re-route new piping through the attic and around the leak instead of wanting to tear into the ground. This sounded like a much better solution to me so I said let's do this. He was able to come out within a couple days to actually fix it, and it only took him and another dude (I forgot his name but he was also so nice) about 4-5 hours to fix the problem. No more slab leak. And while $2800 is still a lot of money for me, I still feel like I saved $7k!

Get this.... literally a few days later my neighbor was outside messing with his water valve and told me he heard running water in his walls. SLAB LEAK! I told him to call Ernie's plumbing for quick service and great rates. He was happy with how everything turned out as well.

I totally recommend Ernie's Plumbing and will for sure call them in the future if I need to. It's a relief to know a reliable plumber, especially when you live in a house that was built in the 70s.

I had THREE different plumbing companies through my home warranty company attempt to unclog a line.  I was getting jerked around and wasn't able to use my kitchen sink for 2 weeks. I finally called Ernie's and they came down and had it fixed in an hour. Whereas other plumbers were attempting to fix the line through the clean-out line behind the kitchen area, Ernie's found the clog on my end of the main line (a tree root). They had it fixed in no time flat for a reasonable rate.

$175/Hour? $325 for 25 minutes of work? When a plumbing company charges more than a lawyer, you know they're up to no good. Also they set their own hourly rate based on the job (is that legal?)

Also they have not provided me an itemized invoiced for their work.  STAY AWAY.

I had to change out a shower cartridge. I disassembled the dial and took out all of the parts but I couldn't get the cartridge because I didn't have the tool. I figured I would call a company recommended by a friend and that was Ernie's.

Their technician arrived and notified me the company would change out the cartridge for around $300. (the part they are changing out retails for about $50 and includes a rebate) At that point I decided to go ahead and have it done because the tech was there and we had visitors for Thanksgiving and I didn't have time to schedule someone else.

So I reluctantly agreed and they replaced it. The job was done well and it works fine but the problem is that for 25 minutes of changing out a part where I had already disassembled much of the shower, they charged $325!!!!!!

25 minutes of work for $325.

I called the day after Thanksgiving and requested an itemized invoice and was promised a call back from someone in accounting. 2 hours later I called back to learn this person was out for the day ... I requested a manager call me back and I talked to Jimmy who I assume is the poor guy they throw to the wolves because of their work. He agreed to refund about $75 in charges but the bill is still excessive for what little work was performed.

I could go on but let me be clear:
- $325 for 25 minutes of work
- No itemized invoice
- They judge the hourly rate depending on the job (no set hourly rate)

Paid $6,000 for plumbing and this is how they left 2 of my walls. And crossed a couple of my hot and cold water lines in the sink. The crew they sent out was great and friendly. But to pay this much for work to be done and them not repair the walls they cut into. And 1 wall didn't even have any waterline in it. Just bad business. Won't return any of my calls.

After calling several plumbers about the mysterious small leak under the kitchen sink and receiving outrageous quotes just to come out and have a look (it's the Saturday before Memorial Day) we called Ernie's. We didn't mention any urgency and still the agent said they'd send someone right out. As soon as Gary arrived (which took about 20 minutes) I asked him if he charged for Saturday repairs and was told Ernie's never charges a weekend or same day premium! Gary explained that today's P traps are made of thin plastic and are prone to cracking but he gave us a 1 year warranty on the replaced p trap and joint and was done and gone in the span of 10 minutes! $235 might seem a little high but to us it was well worth it for the quick friendly service and guaranteed work! Will recommend!

Wonderful company who has Integrity by the bucketfuls indeed!!
I had Ernie's come out to fix a leek in a commode which turned out to be air pressure in the lavatory faucets. Since they did not have to fix anything there was no charge. No even a service charge. I was flabbergasted to say the least
I'm an old timer and this company reminds me of the way companies used to be in giving you a fair days work and reasonable prices. So glad this spirit still lives in Ernie's Plumbing Service.

The plumber who came by gave me a price of $300 to replace six valve shut offs.  The parts cost $6 at Home Depot.  He kept telling me that my house could flood and that he was giving me a discount but only if I did the job that day.  I called another plumber who did the job for $90 plus parts!   Ernie's is a rip off, and this plumber tried to play off my fears!

Requested an estimate for a tankless hot water heater install.

They were over two hours late for the appointment, and when the guy finally showed up he didn't even make a half-hearted attempt.  He just asked what other plumbers had told me and didn't bother looking at the existing piping, etc.

Our ceiling was leaking through a vent, which is right above our bathroom upstairs. It turns out it was a simple fix and we were not charged for the visit. 7/4/16 Ernies Plumbing just corrected a DYI garbage disposal gone wrong. We installed it and had a leak which rusted out the sink parts only after a yr. Although it was under warranty, we installed it without a few necessary steps. Pete came out and assessed our mistakes negotiated a price with us after checking in with the dispatcher and of course its all prettier than my work to the lady of the house. Call Ernie's and remember, they give free estimates with no pressure sale. I'm positive there are other good companies out there, but they are consistent in their work quality.

They came out in response to a leak in bathroom. Plumber told me it was EITHER a slab leak or coming from a pipe outside the home! Quoted me an estimate between 3 to 12 thousand, especially if if was in the slab.. He said he would go back to office and write up a bid for my insurance company. I NEVER HEARD FROM HIM AGAIN!  After a week I'm so glad I got a 2nd opinion.  I just needed a new toilet!!! Called American Leak Detection. They were fast and competent. Will never call Ernue again.

Their fees are outrageous. It was 1700.00 labor to have 4 faucets installed and 6 angle stops to be changed and that's with a 10% discount. I'm on social security so this was a big investment. They also chipped my sink in two places without even mentioning it to me. I called them back because the hot water in one sink was cold. He explained that he did his job right but the builder back in 1984 switched the lines. I asked him if he could just make the switch to put it back the way it was. He said they charge 195.00 for this which took about 10 minutes. He ended up waiving the charge but his demeanor switched from the day before. I'm was in customer service all my working life. I wish I read Yelp and Google reviews. I am shocked at some Of the owners responses to people....unprofessional and sarcastic. I had used them 9 years ago so that's why I called. Then I started hearing from friends how their prices were way out of line with industry standards after I had the job done.

This company is a joke,  Free Estimates,   I have a project to get done to replace all of the cast iron plumbing under my house,  The job is going to be around 10,000.00   The joker came out, came to the door with no intention of giving me a bid or wanting the job.   All of the other companies that I have had out to bid this job,  have gotten under the house looked at what needs to be done and gave me  FREE estimates.  This joker would not unless I gave him 190.00 to go under the house.  I am sure I would not hear from him again.   Just wanted to rip me off/  I do not know how many more friends he has to leave good reviews, but this company is a joke.

I've used them several times over past few years. They are always available. They speak English -fluently! Sorry, but I've had more occasions than not where that's been an issue here in Texas.  They call you back and they show up when they say they will. They call ahead to make sure you're home and available.
They aren't the least expensive but they never try to talk me into services etc that I don't need or double talk me and try to make me feel like my house will flood or explode if I don't pay for unneeded stuff. Very clear as to what needs to be done. Reliable. Honest. Last time they looked at two issues and said it wasn't worth the money to have them fix the issues  unless I really wanted them to. And didn't charge me even a service call fee which I would have gladly paid for their time.

prompt response, they were able to get someone out to me in 24 hours. they gave me a window of 11-3, being active duty military I had to take a day of leave for it but no big deal. however the day of about 10 to 11 they call and tell me he is around the corner. 20 min later I get a call that he got a flat and they are sending someone else. 2 and a half hours later I get a call saying they are 30-40 min away. 45 min later I get another call saying the same thing, 30-45 min out. they arrive at 245 and give me a quote for  205 for a 20 min snake job. seemed a bit high but I really couldn't wait for someone else at this point. they spent about 20 min just looking for tools and after they cleared the clog they sent a camera down and showed me where the line was broken and told me they could fix it for 1600 had they done an actual inspection maybe I could have saved myself 200 and had them be the ones to fix the break. live and learn I suppose, will likely not use or recommend this company again. when the follow-up team called to see how it went I let them know how they spent almost an hour on a 20 min job. (which if time equals money then I paid for them to look for tools as much as work) they just said ok great if I have any questions be sure and call.

update: after the technicians gave me the go ahead and left I ran the washer and dishwasher before going to get my kids. upon arriving home, all the water is now backed up in the tub. our slow to drain is now a total blockage.

I had originally called Mansfield plumbing to come out and take a look at a slab leak at our house, but they were booked, so I asked them for a recommendation for another plumber and one of the names they gave me was Ernie's plumbing.  That might have been a huge mistake because now I think that I have found my plumbing company for life.

Not only were these guys on time with their appointments, the plumber they sent out, Curtis Posey was not only professional but was very knowledgeable at his craft.  Instead of doing patch work and risking another leak down the road, he recommended doing a reroute of that bad line through the attic.  I now have a fresh new line, and my outside bib for my hose is at a better location than the original location.

They do what they promise and the work is guaranteed and their prices are the most reasonable out of the other plumbers we called.  I highly recommend using these guys for your plumbing needs, like I said I think I found our plumbers for life.

They were prompt and professional from the time we called them to schedule the service to the completion. They didn't try to push us to replace our water heater that simply had a pressure release valve leak. Their price to just replace the valve was much lower than Benjamin Franklin.

Significantly lower price both times, a little something extra at no charge-toilet that needed a shim and another that needed a tune up- friendly, thorough, right the first time, on time, neat...more than I expected!

We called on Saturday of Labor Day weekend with an outside hydrant leaking behind the bricks,  planning to make an appointment for the next week

They do not charge extra for Saturday calls. Josh arrived with in an hour, assessed the problem and made an estimate.  I was so impressed with his professionalism that I inquired about replacing at 26 yr old water heater and a faucet shut off repair inside the house.  The bid for the total job was quite reasonable and he proceeded with the work.  He finished in a few hours, cleaned up and left us in great shape!

Josh was a great plumber and a credit to Ernies for hiring quality employees

Ernie's Plumbing showed up to give me a verbal estimate for a slab leak reroute. The Plumber estimated $4500.00 and tried to pressure me into starting that day. I had received two other estimates from Platinum Plumbing and Accu Find Slab Leak for $1850 for the same service. He wanted to know why I would not hire him. When I showed him the other two WRITTEN estimates on my phone, he became hostile and said if they can do it for that price good luck. I guess he was shamed and did not like being called out.

I was tempted to rate Ernies 4 or 5 stars for the final result.  Sometimes I hate rating with stars because it really cant draw a true picture and thats all everyone really looks at. I had a lengthy experience with Ernies that started out bad and ended well.  Thus the A-OK rating.  I had a stopped up sewer line. The first plumber Ernies sent out overcharged me in my opinion. In fact, I negotiated him down $500 and still felt I was overcharged.  Then the same line stopped up again in about 30 days. Ernies sent a different plumber out and he spent a couple days fixing what he said were mistakes done by the first guy. The good part of the story is that they charged me nothing for the two days AND sent me an $800 partial refund for the original service. That is unheard of these days and I want to say that I am very impressed with the managers integrity and follow up.

Ernie's Plumbing, YOU ABSOLUTELY ROCK!!!!!!!!

I called and had them come out and fix my clogged toilets, tubs, etc. because we have had a plumbing problem for the last 3 days - and I was NOT about to go another day putting bath towels down to catch overflowing water from the toilets! The lady that answered was very professional and got someone to me the same day! My stupid home warranty ppl claimed they couldn't fix it because the tech would have to get on top of my house - which turned out to be NOT TRUE! The tech from Ernie's went right on the side of the house and unclogged everything! (Well, I don't have to tell you what's about to happen to the home warranty ppl, hmmph!) Anyway, they came right on out fixed the problem and was very reasonable with their price!  not to mention the nice follow up call after the work was completed! I simply cannot thank you guys enough! I'm definitely keeping their number on my fridge!

We just moved to TX from AZ and couldn't do any laundry for our family of four due to the drainage line for the washer being blocked and backing up.  We called plumber after plumber in our area and either the call wasn't returned or they didn't have any available appointments for DAYS!  Finally, we saw the number for Ernie's and called.  We were thrilled to get a same day appointment, and by same day, like 45 minutes later!  Jeff (496) arrived and was such a pleasure.  Most importantly, he fixed our issue (line is still clear 3 weeks later), but also, he was such a genuinely nice guy.  We chatted while he snaked the line and he offered great recommendations for places for us to take our kids and things to do.  Being new to TX, he was one of the first people I met, and was such a welcoming, friendly person.  We have Ernie's magnet on our refrigerator and will definitely request Jeff if we require plumbing service in the future.  Also, we have other co-workers and friends relocating here in the coming months, so we will be passing along this referral as well.  Thank you so much Ernie's (and Jeff)!!

The plumber quoted $ 495 for removing the clog in the toilet and clearing the drainage issue in the bath tub. He took the $ 495 for both services, but did not work on the drainage issue in the bathtub which I realized was still not draining well after he left. When I called to complain about it and asked for a partial refund of the $ 495 paid in full, I was put on the phone with a Manager named Randy who was extremely rude, talking over me, and told me that the $ 495 was only for clearing up the toilet issue and that the repair work for the tub to clear the drainage issue was a free service, and therefore I was not entitled to any refund. This free service claim was a shock to me as I specifically asked for a quote for both services from the plumber who came to work on them, and was given the quote of $ 495 for both services. Will never use Ernie's services in the future.

I was very disappointed in way they do business. Have used before but this time it was different. Maybe they have 'gone big business' approach with clients. Will not use again. Young guy who came to fix clogged sink and price out some plumbing work was nice and informative.......however quotes got very outrageous. After they left I checked cost for what the average is for water heater replacement. Their quote was almost triple what it should cost. Apples to apples. Toilet flapper issue, would have been, $175. Quote for stopped sink, $185.
The gentleman fixed my clogged sink (I was thinking OK, I will pay $50 more than what it should probably cost out of being anxious to fix with company at house). Decided to bite off on reworking pipes......(In reality just a couple of short pipes).........took about 30 min. No supplies on truck so runs to store........20 min.....So all in all he was here about 90 min.
Cost $325......with $25 off. Bill would have been $350 if I had not seen coupon.

Buyer beware. I will look for a good handyman plumber or local plumber without foot in the door techniques next time.

That is a bold face lie.  That lady kept repeating that they would have to use the camera.  All you readers, trust yelp because it's more accurate and as far as the BBB, noone really uses that anymore so reviews are put on yelp.  And how do I know the amount of your camera service if the receptionist never try to sell the camera service?  That lady just tried to sell camera service, point blank.  We didn't even get to the address part.  There is nothing for me to gain by writing this review but everyone need to know how horrible you guys are.  Truth hurt.

Overpriced. Terrible customer service. Owner leaves passive aggressive responses to Google reviews. Incredibly unprofessional. First plumber that came out couldn't be bothered to even give a quote for installing the toilet and told us to just do it ourselves. He also said we had purchased the wrong size toilet. The only price he did mention was to replace the entire pipe, but otherwise didn't offer any assistance. The second plumber that came out was very professional and very nice. This plumber did provide a quote and offered to install the toilet. He also let us know that the toilet we purchased was the correct size, and he wasn't sure why the first guy said otherwise. I felt it was a bit overpriced, but I just wanted it done so I okayed the work. We left a fair, 3-star Google review and the owner responded in the most unprofessional, rude way possible. Now, I would never use Ernie's again, nor recommend it to anyone.

Wow! If you want to pay 2x the quoted price this is your place. Couldn't believe for toilet reset  and shower valve ( which became a bigger  issue to fix) that 1600$ price was a shock - quoted was 650. Had a great experience with Ernie's Plumbing!  Had a broken outside faucet that needed to be replaced.  The plumber (Fred) was there on time and fixed it within 15 minutes.  Water was off for only 5 minutes.  He explained how much the repair would cost up front before starting the work.  Once the job was done, he explained exactly what he did and showed me the old pipe and how it broke.

I would definitely use Ernie's again and will probably get a quote from them on a new water heater in the near future.

Had good experience with them years ago (over 10 years ago) so I called them to come out to replace a bathtub drain.   Set up the appointment for the next day.    I got several calls toward the end of the 4 hour window to let me know I was next.  Last call was to tell me they weren't coming, and wanted to set me up for the next day (another 4 hour window).  It's not critical, and I'm not going to blow another 4 hour window.

My mother is 92 years old she just barely survives on the little money she receives on social security. For a 92 year old she's does great to live on her own.  So desired to have her bathroom tub and sink replaced so she called Ernie's Plumbing Services. They charged my mother $1245.00 to replace a 3 head shower faucet with value and a line drain on her bathroom sink. There was no walls to cut down they didn't have to go underneath the house. This home was built in 1950's it has a dirty clothes hamper with an access door to all the shower pipes and values. All they had to do was cut the water off and replaces the vales and shower faucets.  This was the result for $1245 oh and they gave $30.00 off this company or the people they hire are disgusting and should not be in business at all.

They will thoroughly work... And then they will thoroughly charge you a lot of money!
They squeezed every penny out of us when we bought a house with plumbing problems, and didn't even fix what was wrong, then charged us over 500.00. I don't know why but my husband has bad luck with Repair workers.  One tip I can give is call a smaller company, close to your home, one that's not available 24/7, those companies tend to charge less and are more personable.

Called Ernie's 6/8 about 10a for a free estimate for a total rebuild of 2 toilet tanks, incl. tank to bowl gasket and bolts. They promised someone here by 2p. I got a courtesy call he was enroute shortly after 1p and Pete was here within 30. He was very nice and cordial yet professional. He checked the tanks, gave me a price and said he'd be back today by 8:30a. Got the courtesy call today at 7:15a and he was here in an hour. Had to get same day service (on a Saturday) for an outdoor sewage clog that backed up all the toilets in the property. Called around every other plumber service that I could on yelp until I was recommended to call Ernie's. They picked up right away and unclogged the drain immediately while using a camera to identify the cause. I was kept up to date since I was away from the property. Ernie saw my prior review and asked me what he could do to fix the problem (who caused it and would I allow his plumbers try again).  I give Ernie credit for being an upstanding businessman and wanting to make things right.

The plumber did an excellent job.  He used hard pipe instead of flex pipe and did really nice work in installing a new gas pipe into the house.  We got a bid at the beginning of the job and that's exactly what he charged.  The plumber showed up for the bid and the work on the promised days.  He showed up a few hours before his 4-hour window for the bid (due to an office/scheduling issue) but that worked out fine in my schedule.

Well...I have to be honest, I was planning to give 1-2 stars. But Randy (site manager) called me and made it right!

We had a pool in the front yard by the time Fred with Ernie's got to us on Friday. He did a quick evaluation and quoted $714+parts. I told him that was high for what looked to be an easy access. He told me that it was a flat rate whether it took 2-10 hours. Long story short, he got it fixed in about 1-1.5 hours and maintained the quoted price. (note - he was very courteous and accommodating of my questions, the service was excellent). I paid it, but called the office and left a message to speak with the manager. We final got connected a few days later and Randy was VERY understanding and had already reviewed the invoice and comments that I had left earlier about the situation - he refunded 1/2 of the labor!! That put the cost back into the ball park that I had expected.

Give Randy a chance before blasting on Yelp...

Thanks for the prompt call back Randy and your dedication to customer service!

I will be back for sure!

I was given a 4 hour window for a plumber to come out and give me an estimate. I was told someone would be there between 10-2pm. I called at 11:52 to check the status. I was told the plumber was at lunch and I was his next stop. Next they called me at 12:37 to tell me the plumber was running late and they would be in touch as soon as he was available. The next call from them came at 12:55pm. I was on the other line and missed the call. I literally called right back and had the receptionist on the phone @ 12:57pm and they told me they sent the plumber on to the next job. I asked to speak to the supervisor and explained to him that it was less than 2 min before I called back and he said I'm sorry that's our policy. If you don't answer we send them on to the next job. I understand the need to have people answer but cancelling the appointment that quickly for not answering when I had talked to them twice before is a bit ridiculous. I will never call this company again.

I do not want to give any stars to Ernie's Plumbing in Arlington, TX. Absolute worst experience my poor Mother-In-Law ever had with a plumbing service (or myself for that matter) The quality of work was so bad, we had to call another plumbing company to come out and fix what Ernie's company did. The smallest of task to replace a valve in the kitchen. What plumber doesn't have sealant? Had to leave to go get it and never came back to finish the job, yet we were charged over $400. Called the company many times only to be told that the person we needed to talk to wasn't there. He wasn't there after many calls and never returned
any messages.

My sweet MIL was completely taken advantage of. Beware of this horrible company

Update: There hasn't been any phone calls. I received a message here on Yelp but no one has called or reached out to my Mother-In-Law.  Very unsettling.

We had a clogged main line. It happens every year despite never pouring grease down the drain and using super thin toilet paper that makes gas station tp feel like a feather down comforter in comparison. Anyways, Martin showed up on time, was knowledgeable, polite and thorough! He snaked the main line and explained to us what the issue was and gave us some solutions to avoid this headache in the future. Quick, painless and easy on the wallet! Will definitely use Ernies again!

We had a leaky outside faucet that was also very loose. We had two other companies give us VERY expensive quotes to repair it, that also included breaking into the side of the house. And each one said, yeah, we'll have to totally tear up your house, but it's up to you to get someone to repair that!

Ernie's was our last estimate. Thomas gave us a reasonable price, said no way did he need to break into the side of the house - only needing to drill a bit of brick out, and that he would make it look good with some mortar. He was personable, seemed very experienced, and got the job done beautifully! It's been about a month now and there are no signs of any leaks or poor workmanship. We won't hesitate to use Ernie's again!

We have an issue with both of our showers, which for the past 6 days causes us to have to take a bath which I do not do.  I am 52 and plopping down in a bath is not good for the bathtub or me!!!  As a result, we phoned Ernie's Plumbing to set Appt and wife took off Thursday for 2-6pm Appt window (4 hrs of leave).  After waiting the entire time, the dispatcher called and said sorry technician is on an all day job and won't be able to get there.  My wife was completely upset but calmer heads prevailed and we decided to reschedule because we understand things happen.  As a result, we rescheduled for Monday btw 1-5pm and I was coming in from out of town wanted to spend time with my Mom who was put in nursing home so went there for 45 minutes (only) so I could make sure and be able to drive from Carrollton to Arlington to meet the time window so we could make sure we had a shower.  It was about 2:30 and I asked my wife to call to see if there was any update in status and she stated they told her don't worry we haven't forgotten about you, technician still on other job, will call back.  At 3:40pm I received a call on my cell from the Ernie's Plumbing dispatcher and she said just wanted to follow up to make sure you knew we are still going to get there today, technician should be calling shortly.  I stated ok thanks for calling.  Then at 5:03pm, Cassandra the dispatcher called and said, technician is in an all day job and will be unable to show.  I could not believe it!!! At least this time, they called to let us know they were no-showing didn't even get a call before.  The only remedy offered in this situation was to reschedule, so obviously they could care less about my business.  I would be completely ashamed if I ran a business this way and disrespected a customers time.  To add insult to injury their commercial states,  CUSTOMER SATISFACTION IS OUR TOP PRIORITY!!!  This is a deceptive business practice because even after speaking with Gen Mgr Randy Kilcrief) and Office Mgr Leesa Ruiz neither one offered a remedy to solve the issue and both showed no emotion for the situation and so definitely did not feel like a TOP PRIORITY.  Rather I felt as though my family and I were the LAST priority and they could care less if they served us because they have plenty of business!  I implore you THINK TWICE BEFORE SCHEDULING.
Maybe if people stop going here Randy, Leesa and Cassandra will consider their CUSTOMERS an actual TOO PRIORITY!!!
Btw was put on hold for 5 min so the dispatcher could tell me the GM's last name.  I gathered by this they are quite a close knit group.
Never Again and I hope it doesn't happen to anyone else!  Just don't call so you aren't disappointed!
Sincerely,
Scott Marshall
***RESPONSE TO COMMENTS BY ERNIE C***

I guess I have to respond to all your inaccuracies provided in your rambling response.  I have not and will not scream at anyone in your office.  I spoke to them and did not curse, did not raise my voice I talked to them as a person would when they have been treated wrongly and had their time disrespected.  If they felt disrespected, I apologize but they just felt like my family did with the way we were treated by this company. Also, respectfully Sir if you had any professionalism like I did to talk to your folks by phone instead of hiding yourself behind your words like a Coward I could possibly respect you more, but the way you have decided to handle this situation is just the way your business operates.  Obviously you didn't read my comment, but I will explain, I  was out of town came back in to Love Field and went to see my MOM at a nursing home in CARROLLTON wanting to spend time with her, that is not 30 min away and I don't really have to tell you what I needed to do your business should NEVER no-show a customer back to back, that is the issue here and the fact you are trying to make me be the problem just says that CUSTOMER SATISFACTION IS NOT AND WONT BE WITH YOUR ATTITUDE YOUR TOP PRIORITY!  You have shown that to everyone that reads this just by what you wrote back to a dissatisfied customer.  You didn't try to satisfy me you are trying to tell me how you are right and I should have used technology to solve my problems of time management.  You seem like the guy that is always smartest in the room BUT unfortunately you don't have mine or my wife's schedule.  Some people don't have jobs they can just leave on a whim whenever a call comes in or just Not Show up and it be excused.  I can see though how you and your company (if you are the owner, never stated your title) would not be able to comprehend that by your actions.
Thanks for satisfying your customer even more!!

Just had Ernie's install a new outlet so we can install an ice machine in our laundry room.  They sent two technicians who were very knowledgeable, extremely polite and very professional.  Josh made excellent suggestions and updated our washer plumbing also.  We will definitely use them again and highly recommend them.

Total Liars. don't wonder too long about why they have multiple Ernie's Plumbing Incs on yelp; it's because yelpers watch out for each other and rate this company for the pond scum that it is.

So here is my story; my property manager found Ernie's on Angie's List, and trusted the good rating. (BBB does not have a rating for Ernie's, btw.) The plumber came out to find a probable gas leak and fix it for a flat rate of $495; he cut the main line off from the supply lines, assumed they were all dead, neglected to cap off the lines, and only capped the main line. Having spent about 30 minutes --not finding or fixing the leak-- he decided to upsell by calling my property manager and offering to change out the water heater for another flat rate of $1350; because that's $150 off!!! Being a long-distance landlady, I stupidly agreed to this over the phone with my property manager, and 5 hours later the guy was finished.

So then Monica from Ernie's office calls me 15 minutes later and demands that I give her my credit card number over the phone immediately. Is there an invoice? I ask. She emails me a scanned copy of the authorization that my tenant signed, upon which she had scribbled more unreadable an confusing charges on top of the flat fee for a total of $2098. Can Monica do math? I had a flat rate for her: $0, until we could straighten all of this out.

I contested this amount and tried in vain to communicate with Randy about my bill, and how the numbers didn't make any sense. When my husband asked for clarification, Randy suddenly stopped the run-around. Don't get me started on the chauvinism. Meanwhile, my tenant complained that some of the gas appliances didn't work; we called a 2nd plumber out, who diagnosed the lazy job that Ernie's plumber did, took pictures, and properly fixed it. This is when I emailed Randy and told him I was going to take legal action if he didn't fess up right away and stop attempting to bill me for a job that wasn't done. PS I still hadn't seen a receipt or even gotten a make and model for my supposed hot water heater.

And THAT is when I got a call from their lawyer. (Read creditor. Which should tell you something about the way Ernie's runs their business).  His client Monica had sent him papers stating that I was liable for $2098, and how would I like to pay that today? After I reminded him that his client didn't actually possess an authorized signature on any paperwork. He just yelled at me over the phone and wouldn't let me finish a sentence. I was ready to take them on but my sweet husband decided that I had spent too much time and energy dealing with these people. So he paid them the ridiculous flat rate for the water heater and sent them the pictures of the hack job they did on the gas mainline, for which we did NOT pay them.

Bottom line: these people are running an operation, and if they sense that they can pull one over on you, they will try.

Arrogant people work here at this company. They set up a 4 hours window for me where they expect me to glue to the phone waiting for their call. When I found that I missed 2 calls within 10 minutes of each other (sorry, I am a living thing & I have living needs), I called right back and was hung up on. When I finally got to talk to her highness on the dispatching end, she simply told me that she did not have anyone to come to do the fixing of my sink.  She gave me another 4 hour window on another day to cling to & wait for her to call again. These people act as if they are the only plumbers in the world, that nothing you do including you, yourself, matter to them. Their time is more important than yours, and that they don't need or care about customers. They seem to think they are doing us a BIG favor by coming to fix our problem.  I wasted my morning waiting, cleaning for them to come, couldn't go anywhere, couldn't do anything. This company does not deserve to have any customers!

Realized we had a problem at about 4 o'clock on a Friday afternoon. My brother told me to call Ernie's since that is who they usually used. The lady who answered the phone said they would get someone out. We had a technician by 5 and the problem was fixed by 6ish.
Very prompt, very courteous, very professional.

I wish I would have compared prices before moving forward with Ernies. I do feel I got ripped off and believed I could of got it done for a lower price. It went from $350 to $800. I just needed a toilet and valve replaced which cost me almost $800 and a big hole in my wall. It's definitely not worth it and I do not recommend this place.

Called in the morning and they came out that day. I got a great estimate. They told me exactly what was wrong and what might have been wrong with my kitchen sink. So great to have a service like this one whom I can use and won't try and take advantage of a situation. No service call fees so if I decided to go ahead and fix it myself I can do that without have to drop 100 plus dollars on an expert just to come and see the problem. I will be using them anytime my plumbing gets out of hand. Great company and amazing employees.
